"A South Carolina man has been sentenced to 35 years for opening fire at a police officer, striking him four times, in a shooting captured by a camera in the officer's glasses. Solicitor Duffie Stone announced Wednesday that a jury found 29-year-old Malcolm Orr of Estill guilty of attempted murder and possessing a weapon in a violent crime. Orr received the maximum sentence for each charge. Stone said Estill Officer Quincy Smith was responding to a call on New Year's Day 2016 about someone trying to snatch groceries from customers. Smith spotted Orr walking from the store while holding his cellphone to his ear and ordered him to stop. Smith threatened to use his Taser if Orr didn't remove his other hand from his pocket. Orr pulled out a 9 mm handgun and fired eight times."

"Smith scrambled back to his patrol car and radioed for help as Orr fled. "Tell my family that I love them," Smith told a dispatcher. Bullets broke two bones in Smith's arm, severed a vein in his neck, and passed through his upper torso. "If but not for the grace of God and some very good doctors, this would not only have been a murder case, but a death penalty case," Stone said in a statement."

"The officer retreated to his cruiser to call for backup, as Orr kept shooting. "I thought I was going to die right then, and I told dispatch to tell my family I love them, because I thought I wasn't going to make it," Smith says. Orr was arrested by officers who responded to the scene."

"Smith remains on medical leave and hopes to return to work Jan. 1. All the department's 15 officers are now required to wear body cameras."

"A canine with the Adams County Sheriff's Office saved a deputy who was fighting with a suspect, CBS Denver reports. A sheriff's deputy responded to a trespassing call around 1 a.m. on Saturday. While on the call, a man the deputy was talking to jumped a fence to get away. The deputy ran after the man -- later identified as 25-year-old Gabriel Steven Garcia -- and became separated from his K-9 officer, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois named Lex. The two began fighting. According to the sheriff's office, Lex managed to unlatch a gate with his paw and come to the rescue of his handler. Garcia was subsequently apprehended and charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault in the attack on the deputy."

"World War II veteran Marvin Strombo returned a Japanese flag to the family of the fallen soldier he recovered it from more than 70 years ago. Strombo, 93, who was part of an elite U.S. Marines scout-sniper platoon, told The Associated Press how he came across the flag and why he needed to return it."

"Strombo discovered the flag in 1944 during a battle in Saipan when he spotted a dead Japanese soldier lying on the ground. Strombo saw a white cloth poking out from the man’s pocket where he discovered the silk flag filled with elegant calligraphy. He took the flag home with him to Oregon. More than 70 years later, Strombo is returning the Japanese flag to his fallen enemy's family. He arrived Friday in Tokyo, the first stop in a 10,000-mile journey into the remote mountainside to bring the keepsake back to the man's home village — back to a brother and two sisters who could never say goodbye. "I realized there were no bullets or shrapnel wounds, so I knew he was killed by the blast of a mortar," Strombo told The Associated Press. “I think that soldier wanted me to find him for some reason.”

"The flags were given to Japanese soldiers for good luck. Relatives, neighbors and friends signed their names on the flags. Allied troops frequently took them from the bodies of their enemies as souvenirs. They have a deep significance because most Japanese families never learned how their loved ones died and never received remains. Strombo kept the flag hung in a glass-fronted gun cabinet in his home for years. He wrote letters to learn more about the flag but eventually put it aside. He did not know Japanese and, in an era before the Internet, making any headway was difficult."

"Then, in 2012, the son of his former commanding officer contacted him about a book he was writing on the platoon. Through him, Strombo reached out to the Obon Society, a nonprofit in Oregon that helps U.S. veterans and their descendants return Japanese flags to the families of fallen soldiers. A week later, researchers discovered the flag belonged to Yasue Sadao by reading the script on the flag. They traced the corporal to a tea-growing village of about 2,400 people in the mountains roughly 200 miles west of Tokyo. The calligraphy on the flag were the signatures of 180 friends and neighbors who saw Yasue off to war in Higashi Shirakawa, including 42 of his relatives. Seven of the original signatories are still alive, including Yasue’s 89-year-old brother and two sisters."

"The Obon Society has returned about 125 flags and gets about five inquiries a day from aging soldiers who regret their actions and want to return the flags before they die. The group believes there are similar flags still hidden across the U.S. that could give answers to other families. Strombo will be the first WWII veteran to return a flag in person to a Japanese family through the Obon Society. Strombo can also help give the family some closure and show where Yasue died. "I knew he was young because I could see his profile as I bent over him. He was laying on his back, kind of on his left side," Strombo said. Only two other men in Strombo's platoon of 40 are still alive. "It got so I kind of wanted to meet the family, you know," he said, his voice growing raspy. "I know it means so much to them."

"An Alabama judge ruled Thursday that a law barring teachers from having sexual relationships with students old enough to consent is unconstitutional. Morgan County Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson dismissed charges Thursday against 44-year-old Carrie Witt, a former teacher at Decatur High School, and 27-year-old David Solomon, a former contract teacher at Falkville High School. Witt is accused of having sex with two students who are over the age of 16, the state's legal age of consent. Solomon is accused of having sex with one student over the age of 16."

Should it matter whether or not the students are at the legal age of consent? Think parents would want their kid having sex with a teacher? Think it an appropriate relationship?

"CBS affiliate WHNT reports that Thompson ruled that prosecutors must prove that the teacher used a "position of authority" to "coerce, groom, or otherwise obtain the illegitimate consent of the alleged victims." Thompson said that while there may be a gap in power between teacher and student, it "clearly does not exist between every school employee and every student regardless of where that student is enrolled."

In follow up to earlier editions of this publication and elsewhere, CBS News reports:

"The father and the fiancé of an Australian woman shot to death by a Minneapolis police officer responding to her 911 call grieved at a public memorial service Friday night, the same time the family had planned to be on a plane to her wedding. Justine Damond's father, John Ruszczyk, choked back tears as he vowed to find justice for his 40-year-old daughter, whom he described as being "ripped from our arms." "We should be walking down the street smiling and laughing," he said of his first visit to Minneapolis. "But now every step on the foot path is very painful. I feel crushed by sorrow."

Still no resolution to the inexplicable killing of this woman by a jackbooted bastard in blue.

"Her fiancé, Don Damond, said it "felt like a privilege to love Justine." They were getting married next week in Hawaii, and he pointed out the painful irony that the service - held at a lakefront stage near her home in southwest Minneapolis - coincided with the family's original travel plans."

Yet, the son of a bitch responsible for killing her refuses to be interviewed by investigators, has not been fired, not arrested. Why not? This piece of shit is being protected, coddled.

"As Damond's loved ones mourned their loss, the investigation into her death moved forward. A judge approved a search warrant for investigators to examine the smartphones of two Minneapolis police officers in the shooting. The search warrant application was filed Thursday by an agent with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The agent requested permission to download data from the iPhones issued by the Minneapolis Police Department. The application states that the information "may more clearly define" the officers' actions before and after she was killed on July 15. Investigators have said Officer Mohamed Noor shot the 40-year-old woman after she called 911 to report a possible sexual assault near her home."

If the phones are indeed issued by the department, why is a search warrant necessary? Why weren't investigators granted immediate access?

"Noor's partner, Officer Matthew Harrity, told investigators a noise startled him just before Damond approached their police SUV. Noor was in the passenger seat and shot Damond through the open driver-side window. Noor has declined to be interviewed by investigators and cannot be compelled to do so."

The killer officer indeed has a right not to incriminate himself by talking to investigators. Why hasn't he been fired and arrested? Quickly charged as any other citizen would have been under similar circumstances? Why the double standard?

"The two officers had not activated their body cameras. Minneapolis police officers are now required to have those cameras on when they respond to calls or make traffic stops."

Why hadn't they been previously required to do so? None of this shit adds up. None of it.

Here is yet another example of egregious aggressive stupidity. This time perpetrated against a legally armed officer. The Washington Times reports:

"A Texas police chief is speaking out after he was asked to leave a Woodlands doctor’s office because of his firearm. Conroe Police Department Chief Philip Dupuis told The Courier that he walked into the Texas Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists office in the 3900 block of Pinecroft Drive last week when the receptionist informed him that he needed to leave his handgun in his car."

This is an officer legally entitled to carry his firearm. Gallingly, inexplicable? Get this:

"Chief Dupuis, who was not in uniform, said he identified himself as law enforcement and had his badge and police identification card clearly visible before he was asked to take his gun outside. “It’s just bad,” Chief Dupuis told The Courier. “My badge is clearly displayed. I have my lanyard on with ‘police’ on my ID card hanging around my neck. I had handcuffs. The lobby was full of people, and they asked me to leave because of who I am.”

"The doctor’s office had clearly posted signs outside saying firearms are prohibited, and since Chief Dupuis was not on official business, he said they had every right to kick him out for whatever reason."

"But that doesn’t mean he agrees with them. He wrote on Facebook that he had “never been so embarrassed” in his 35 years of law enforcement. Texas ENT Office Manager Ryan Johnson said he has apologized to Chief Dupuis personally. “Mr. Dupuis identified himself as a police officer,” Mr. Johnson told The Courier. “This situation simply should not have happened.” “We have personally apologized to Chief Dupuis for any inconvenience or embarrassment he experienced,” Texas ENT said in a Facebook post. “Our company values law enforcement officers and first responders for their selfless service and will serve them and our communities with the utmost respect."

"Chief Dupuis said the incident has made him think twice about encouraging his children to go into law enforcement. “After a day like today, I want to come home and try and talk them out of it,” he said. “I shouldn’t have to talk my children out of being in a profession that I have loved for so long and has provided for me and my family a good life. When I see something like this, I don’t want my kids going through this.”

Give me a break, Chief. You were doing so well until the above quote. Should have simply laughed it off. Not taken it so personally. There's usually an idiot in every place of business. You had the misfortune of having run into one that day. Shrug it off. She talked about the murders of her father and brother but things went south when Gordon of Bounce TV asked her about what she was doing to advocate on behalf of blacks and Trump’s recent comments on policing in which he seemed to be encouraging police brutality, according to The Associated Press. Gordon stepped toward Manigault as he questioned her. She accused Gordon of being “aggressive.”

“When you have someone in the room, you don’t beat the hell out of them,” she told a packed ballroom. “You inform them of what’s going on in the community so they can be an advocate. You don’t walk away from the table because if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.”

What the hell is that supposed to mean? The nazi you work for advises police to ramp up violence against those they encounter. Then you expect not to be challenged?

"Six deputies of a sheriff's office in South Carolina have been disciplined for engaging in sexual conduct while on duty dating back to 2003, reports CBS Charlotte, N.C. affiliate WBTV. Documents provided to the station by the York County Sheriff's Office in response to a Freedom of Information Act request show investigators discovered that one female deputy had sex with five different male deputies at various times while on the job."

"York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson said in a statement Wednesday that an anonymous complaint in late July triggered the investigation. Tolson says he fired Sgt. Jennifer Forsythe and Deputy Daniel Hamrick after they admitted to sexual encounters on duty between 2012 and 2017. Sgt. Wayne Richardson, Sgt. Buddy Brown and Capt. Carson Neely were suspended without pay for two weeks, and Lt. Brian Boling was demoted, all for sexual encounters with Forsythe."

Why weren't they all fired? What they do on their own time is their business. When on duty, why should taxpayers foot the bill?

"The results of this investigation are very troubling and cast a dark cloud over the York County Sheriff's Office and its reputation as a professional organization," Tolson said in the statement, as quoted by WBTV. "The actions of these officers have undermined the public's confidence in our organization and required swift and serious action."

Martens and Corbett, a former model, were sentenced to 20 to 25 years in prison, though both defense attorneys have filed appeals. The father-daughter duo both claimed they killed Jason Corbett in self-defense."

(Google Street View) A restaurateur in Michigan recently tried out a new approach on two immigration agents who wanted to search her cafe: She told them to go away. Hediye Batu, who co-owns Café Zola in Ann Arbor with her husband Alan Zakalik, reportedly turned away two Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who came in to inquire about an employee of theirs on Wednesday afternoon, MLive.com reports."

"According to Zakalik, who was not present at the time, the worker in question was not on duty, but Batu refused to let the agents look around anyway. They reportedly left the premises soon afterward. "I was not around when they came in but they did speak to my wife, and she refused them entry," he told MLive. "They wanted to go through the kitchen.” Zakalik added that the men were carrying weapons and looked “pretty equipped” in their ICE gear — a sight that wasn’t lost on his customers. "These few people who did notice, they didn't like the intimidation factor when people come in with guns," said Zakalik of the patrons he spoke with."

Despite the stand-down, some Guamanians were alarmed after two radio stations aired an erroneous emergency alert Tuesday."

A federal judge issued a ruling Friday night allowing the Saturday rally to go forward."

"Friday's march began around 10 p.m. at an intramural field and the crowd proceeded to a statue of Thomas Jefferson on the UVA campus. Jefferson founded the university in 1819. Dozens alt-right activists, white nationalists and neo-Confederates chanted "white lives matter" as they faced off against counter-protesters at the statue, CBS affiliate WTVR-TV reports. Police arrived on the scene and declared the assembly unlawful. Fights broke out between the two groups of demonstrators, with some marchers swinging their torches. University police said one protester was arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct. Police said several people reported injuries, including one police officer."

"The white-nationalist protesters are in Charlottesville for the "Unite the Right" rally on Saturday, where officials expect between 2,000 to 6,000 people to attend the protest against the removal of the Lee statue from the city's Emancipation Park, according to the Daily Progress, a newspaper in Charlottesville. More than 1,000 first responders officers will be on hand for the event, the Daily Progress reported."

"White nationalists clashed with counter-protesters before police moved in and intervened at a demonstration in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia, protesting the city's decision to remove a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from the city's Emancipation Park."

"Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency in the city to aid in the local response. He blamed "mostly out-of-state protesters" for the violence and clashes. "I am disgusted by the hatred, bigotry and violence these protesters have brought to our state over the past 24 hours," McAuliffe said in a statement. He said state troopers and the Virginia National Guard were providing support to local authorities."

Will believe it when we see it. Until then, zero credibility. The following is why little can be expected at this time:

"The FBI said in a statement Saturday that it, the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Virginia have opened a civil rights investigation into the car striking the crowd of people. The investigation will examine the actual ramming attack itself, whether it was pre-meditated, and — if it is determined the attack was planned — if others were involved. Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia Rick Mountcastle and the Civil Rights Division in Washington will head up the federal investigation. However, the greater issue of clashes between the rallying white supremacists and counter-protesters is currently not under investigation."

"Sessions said on Saturday the federal investigation "will have the full support of the Department of Justice." "Justice will prevail," he said."

should not have the ability to shut down ftp servers on four Liberty In
Peril websites, making upload impossible. -- Simply, because they don't
want the truth of their criminal activity reported to the public.

Should this site not be kept up, running, and fully operational, the
libertyinperil.com domain will be quickly moved to a different host
despite cost and hassle. No more bullsh-t. Criminal complaints will be
prepared and filed against Amanda Wright, Lynn Massey, and the equally

Hopefully, now, I can finally get back to the business of this

be easy to make since all links won't have to be changed or deactivated.

The pressure on Wells Fargo will continue unabated. Should they further
interfere with operation of this publication, it will simply provide
additional fodder for criminal complaints to be filed against them.

On 9-22-15, Kingsland Wells Fargo Store Manager Amanda Wright forced
closure of two accounts because for nearly three years this writer has
publicly accused her, her predecessor Lynn Massey, and the Wells Fargo
corporate management suite of engaging in criminal deceptive trade
practices, as well as pressuring, unduly interfering and/or bribing
webhosts to take these websites down.

Apparently, they have successfully managed to unduly influence and/or
bribe the federal Consumer Financial 'Protection' Bureau and Texas
Attorney General Consumer Protection Division as well. Forget? The bank
is considered too big to fail. Considers itself government.

For all practical purposes, that's perversely true. They have money and
resources to buy not only their human chattel, but their bought and paid
for government lackeys. Be interesting to see whether or not the U.S.
Attorney is untouchable, or sadly, similarly capable of being bought.

Immediately after closure of these accounts, the three operational Liberty
In Peril FTP servers were hacked. What that means is that while all three
sites remained operational and accessible to readers, new material could
not be uploaded. This continues to date.

Worse, 'free' accounts on all three 'free' webhosts conveniently no longer
provide technical control panel support. Clearly, they don't want to know
there are problems. Have managed, however, to find other ways to contact
webhost management and have done precisely that.

Will take a criminal investigation to determine who hacked the sites,
however. Most likely, Wells Fargo had a hand in it. Certainly, have the
resources. Highly, unlikely the Llano County Sheriff's Office was
involved. Hard to believe they would be that stupid. The Bank, however,
has nothing to lose. Owns its government lackeys. The Sheriff and his

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues. Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail. Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion. That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago. This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below. ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country. Insult to injury? There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway. No matter the effort. No matter the research. No matter the proof. Wake up. This writer cannot do it alone. Snowball's chance in hell. Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded. Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy. Literally.

Click herefor a most interesting conversation between JP2 Linda Ballard and LCRA Communications Supervisor Mitch Hibbs who at the time was investigating a complaint made by the Henderson family against the 'judge.' The recording had been made by Hibbs and provided by Phyllis Henderson who had gotten it through an open records request. During the course of the recording you will hear the 'judge' make a terroristic threat against the Henderson family which the investigator laughingly shrugged off as a joke.

Seems former LCRA Ranger Lance Bilski, stepson of Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn, had been harassing the Henderson family regarding their tire business, Henderson Tire. Worse? There are unsubstantiated allegations, that although very much attached, Bilski may have indeed engaged in improprieties, that is, egregiously unprofessional conduct relevant to the Henderson complaint. All this had been covered in Newsletter Text V346.
