Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution? Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on. Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.


While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Uncommon Valor.  As always, when an officer or officers do something heroic and/or of exceptional value to the community, it leads in this publication.  Always.

ABC News reports:

"D.C. police officer Wayne David died on Wednesday evening after he suffered an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound while trying to recover a weapon from a storm drain, police have announced. Officers were responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle when a man jumped out of a car, ran onto the I-295 highway and placed the gun inside a storm drain, ABC News has learned. The suspect then fled the scene on the back of a motorcycle. When police then tried to retrieve the weapon, it went off, striking David -- a 25-year veteran of the police force -- in the upper torso. Other officers rendered aid and David was transferred to a local hospital."

Sad, sad loss of life.

"Executive Assistant Chief of D.C. Police Jeffery Caroll told reporters earlier in the day that David -- a crime scene search officer -- was "trained to recover evidence and firearms," and had recovered "hundreds of guns" in his career. Pamela A. Smith, the D.C. chief of police, said in a statement: "Our hearts are heavy tonight after the tragic loss of one of our own." "Investigator Wayne David, a veteran MPD officer, lost his life while serving in the line of duty. There are few words to express the hurt and pain that Officer David’s family and the entire MPD is feeling right now." "Investigator David was the epitome of a great officer. He was a dedicated and highly respected member of the department, and this is a tremendous loss for all of us." "For more than 25 years, Investigator David dedicated his life to protecting and safeguarding the District of Columbia. He served with passion and honor and had the utmost respect of his peers." "I will be forever grateful for Investigator David’s service to the Metropolitan Police Department and his life will never be forgotten," the statement read. Police are still searching for the suspect who ditched the gun, and said there is no indication that the man knew the motorcyclist whose vehicle he escaped on. The department has released an image of the suspect."

Hopefully, they'll quickly catch him.

The Washington Post reports:

"A Dallas police officer was “executed” and two others injured Thursday in what officials called a “targeted” and “premeditated” attack on law enforcement. Officer Darron Burks was parked near the front entrance to a community center between call assignments just after 10 p.m. when the suspect approached his squad car, police said in a statement Friday. Corey Cobb-Bey, 30, appeared to be recording on his cellphone as he briefly spoke to the officer through the driver’s side window, police said. Then, they said, Cobb-Bey drew a handgun and fatally shot Burks. “I know that the word ‘ambush’ has been thrown around in the last 24 hours or so,” Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said at a news conference Friday. “That’s not what happened here. Officer Burks was executed.” Roughly a dozen other Dallas police officers have been killed in the past decade. Of those, five were killed in a single incident in 2016."

Sadly, tragically:

"On Thursday, a dispatcher noticed an “unusual transmission” from Burks’s radio, police said. The dispatcher tried to contact Burks but got no response, so they sent other officers to check on him. Cobb-Bey, meanwhile, went back to his Buick, took out a shotgun and put it on the roof of Burks’s patrol car, police said. When Officer Jamie Farmer got to the parking lot at 10:11 p.m., Cobb-Bey immediately shot him with the handgun, striking his leg, police said. Farmer shot back and ran across the parking lot. Cobb-Bey then grabbed the shotgun from the top of the squad car and fired once more toward Farmer, who kept running, police said. The assailant then ran at Officer Karissa David as she got out of her squad car and shot at her several times. David returned fire and was struck in the face during the exchange, police said. Cobb-Bey fled into Lewisville — about 20 miles northwest of downtown Dallas — then stopped on an expressway and got out of his car, police said. He allegedly approached officers and pointed a shotgun at them. Six officers fired at him, hitting him several times. Cobb-Bey died at the scene, and none of the six officers were injured."

Thankfully, so.

"Farmer was released from the hospital on Friday, and David was in critical but stable condition."

“The investigation determined last night was premeditated — again, for no other reason than the uniform we wear, that my men and women proudly wear, and for the brave and honorable job our men and women do each day,” Garcia said at the news conference."

Sadly:

"Days earlier, he said, Cobb-Bey had approached an unmarked squad car belonging to an unknown law enforcement agency and recorded himself asking officers why they were parked there. Online, Cobb-Bey had shared that he had problems in his professional and personal life, Garcia said, and “made a post indicating an event” would happen on Friday."

Moreover:

"There is currently no evidence that Cobb-Bey and Burks knew each other, Garcia said. He added that Cobb-Bey’s guns were purchased legally. Garcia also said there were indications that Cobb-Bey was part of the Moorish sovereign citizen movement, which the Southern Poverty Law Center describes as a collection of people who believe that individual citizens hold sovereignty over governments. Moorish sovereign citizens have recently “engaged in violent confrontations with law enforcement,” the SPLC says. The Dallas Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit is probing the incident, and the Dallas County district attorney’s office will carry out its own investigation, police said."

“As a department and as a family, we are devastated,” Garcia said at the news conference. “Last night, we lost a brother, a hero. Officer Darron Burks was a son, a nephew, a friend to many, and he was senselessly and tragically murdered in the line of duty.” Burks, who recently had joined the department, taught high school math at Texans Can Academy in Dallas for about 17 years, the Associated Press reported. Tina Shaw, the school’s principal, told the AP in a statement that he was “not only an excellent educator but also a mentor to countless students.” Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson (R) said the city had “suffered a great tragedy.” “Officer Darron Burks truly was a hero. As a teacher and a Dallas police officer, he lived his life in service to others — to all of us. He dedicated himself to giving us a better, smarter world and a safer city. And last night, he made the ultimate sacrifice,” Johnson said in a statement read at the news conference. (His office said he is isolating with covid-19.) Flags at city facilities are being flown at half-staff."

CBS News reports:

"Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia says Officer Darron Burks, who was fatally shot late Thursday, was the victim of a targeted attack rather than an ambush. "Officer Burks was executed," Garcia said during a 5 p.m. Friday news conference. "... Our officers were targeted for nothing more than the uniform they wear and for the brave and honorable job that they do."  Burks, 46, was killed in a shooting in Oak Cliff, and two other responding officers were injured late Thursday night, Dallas police said."

Here's what went down:

"Police responded to an officer-in-distress call in the 900 block of E. Ledbetter Drive just after 10 p.m. Thursday. Officers found one officer - later identified as Burks - shot in a patrol vehicle, a spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department, Kristin Lowman, said in a press conference early Friday morning. Garcia said the suspect, 30-year-old Corey Cobb-Bey, approached Burks while he was waiting in a parking lot between calls. After a brief conversation, Cobb-Bey pulled out a gun and "executed" Burks. Police dispatch noticed a sound from Burks' radio and immediately sent help, Garcia said. Cobb-Bey shot at responding officers, who later shot and killed him, Garcia said. Two shotguns, a .22-caliber handgun, and a 9-millimeter handgun were recovered from two scenes, the chief said."

Sadly:

"Three days ago, Cobb-Bey approached an unmarked unit and questioned that officer. One day ago, Cobb-Bey posted on social media that an event was happening Friday, Garcia said. All three officers were taken to local hospitals. Burks, who joined the force recently after teaching math for about 17 years, was pronounced dead. One officer was in critical condition and the third was in stable condition, Lowman said. According to a CBS News Texas photojournalist at the hospital, DPD chaplains said one of the officers, a man, has superficial wounds, is awake, "in good spirits" and could be released Friday. The other officer who was shot, a woman, has more serious injuries but are non-life threatening."

Thankfully, so.

"Cobb-Bey then fled from the shooting scene. Dallas police officers pursued the suspect and the chase ended in the 1000 block of Stemmons Freeway in Lewisville, about 40 miles from the original scene. This portion of I-35E was shut down for about seven hours. The suspect in the shooting of three Dallas police officers has been identified as Corey Cobb-Bey, 30, of Dallas. One of the officers died. Dallas police said the suspect got out of the vehicle with a "long gun" before officers shot at the suspect killing him. Lewisville police said Dallas officers led the chase on northbound I-35 and no Lewisville officers were involved. CBS News Texas crews on the scene at Baylor University Medical Center and Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas overnight said both had a heavy police presence. A CBS News Texas photojournalist at Methodist Dallas Medical Center said officers were lining up at the entrance in a salute. Officers departed from the hospital in a processional honoring the fallen officer at 4 a.m. Friday."

Sad, sad loss of life.

"Garcia was not at the press conference Friday morning but on social media said he had "No words." Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson released a statement Friday morning: "Dallas has lost a hero. We all grieve with the officer's family today, and we pray for a full and swift recovery for the two officers who were wounded."

Indeed.

"This is devastating. In Dallas, we put public safety first. We stand up to violent criminals. We ask our police officers to do dangerous work so the rest of us can sleep peacefully. These dedicated public servants do so with grace, honor, respect, humility and extraordinary courage. And this attack on three of our protectors is nothing short of an attack on our city, our families, and our way of life. We must continue their work to stop violence in our communities. We must never forget their sacrifice. And we must take the time to come together and lift each other up as we mourn our fallen." DPD said flags at all city facilities will be flown at half-staff in memory of the slain officer."

"A former Massachusetts police officer pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of killing a woman he is accused of sexually exploiting when she was underage and then trying to stage the death as a suicide after she told him she was pregnant. Matthew Farwell entered the plea during an initial appearance in federal court in Boston. He was handcuffed and led out of the room. A follow-up court hearing was scheduled for Oct. 17. Farwell was indicted this week on charges he strangled Sandra Birchmore in early 2021 after she told him that she was pregnant and he was the father. Birchmore was 23 years old at the time."

Great evil.

"Farwell killed Birchmore to prevent authorities from finding out details of his sexual offenses, according to allegations in the indictment. Farwell worked as an officer for the police department in Stoughton, south of Boston, for 10 years, from 2012 until 2022. It wasn’t immediately clear why he left the department. Birchmore began participating in the police explorers program when she was 12 years old, according to the indictment in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts."

What could this former officer possibly been thinking?

"Court documents say that Farwell, who was a police explorers volunteer, used his authority and access to groom, sexually exploit and then sexually abuse Birchmore when she was 15 and that he continued to have sex with her when she became an adult. In late 2020, Birchmore found out she was pregnant and told Farwell, according to the indictment."

A public service:

"The next month, a friend of Birchmore’s called the Stoughton Police Department to tell them Farwell had been having sex with Birchmore. Farwell strangled Birchmore on about Feb. 1, 2021, and then staged her apartment to make it look as though she had died by suicide, according to the indictment."

A gutless piece of shit.

"On some occasions, Farwell falsely claimed he had worked certain hours to hide that he had been sexually abusing Birchmore when she was a minor while he was on duty, court documents say. Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara said Wednesday that the department had worked with other agencies, including the FBI, to investigate."

How could the abuse go on as long as it did?  How is that possible?

“The day after Sandra Birchmore was found dead in her Canton apartment, I ordered a lengthy and aggressive internal affairs investigation, the instructions of which made it clear that no stone should be left unturned,” McNamara said in a statement. “The alleged murder of Sandra is a horrific injustice,” McNamara said. “The allegations against the suspect, a former Stoughton Police Officer, represent the single worst act of not just professional misconduct but indeed human indecency that I have observed in a nearly three-decade career in law enforcement.”

Indeed, it is.  Again, how could the abuse go on as long as it did?  How is that possible?

"If convicted of killing a witness or victim, Farwell would face a minimum sentence of life in prison. Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy on Wednesday declined to comment on whether federal authorities would seek to impose the death penalty if Farwell is found guilty."

"A Texas man who spent 34 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of aggravated assault was exonerated Thursday by a Dallas County judge who ruled that he is actually innocent."

What took so long?

"The judge approved a motion by the Dallas County District Attorney’s office to dismiss the case against Benjamin Spencer, 59, who was initially convicted in 1987 of murder in the carjacking and death of Jeffrey Young. “This day has been a long time coming. I am relieved and humbled to help correct this injustice,” said Dallas County Criminal District Attorney John Creuzot."

What took so long?  Why all the foot-dragging?

"Spencer, who has maintained his innocence, saw his 1987 conviction later overturned. He was then tried again and convicted and sentenced to life in prison for aggravated robbery of Young. “Benjamin Spencer is actually innocent; there exists no credible or physical evidence that he was in any way involved in this crime,” said assistant District Attorney Cynthia Garza, who leads the office’s Conviction Integrity Unit."

While it is good there finally was justice, it remains an egregious failure of the system.

"Prosecution witnesses, including a jailhouse informant seeking leniency, gave false testimony, Creuzot said. He added that prosecutors at the time also failed to provide the defense with evidence that would have excluded Spencer from the crime, including fingerprints."

How could that happen?  No checks and balances?

"Spencer was released on bond in 2021 after the district attorney’s office found his constitutional rights were violated and he did not receive a fair trial due to the false witness testimony and withholding of evidence. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals overturned his conviction earlier this year, sending the case back to Dallas County. Spencer is one of the top 60 longest-serving inmates to be declared innocent of the crime, according to data kept by The National Registry of Exonerations."

"The Burbank Police Department said its officers did not violate policy after Los Angeles’ City Council president released a video he said showed the officers dumping a distressed homeless man on the sidewalk."

Couldn't be the 'best' law enforcement has to offer, could it?

"Council President Paul Krekorian released the video in June and called for an investigation into the officers’ actions. The man was left outside Krekorian’s North Hollywood office."

Sad, isn't it?

"Burbank police said in a news release Wednesday that it concluded its investigation and “determined that the police officers’ actions did not violate Department policy and there was no evidence of misconduct.”

That right?  Protecting and coddling these hopelessly clueless bastards?

"The department said it interviewed witnesses and reviewed police body camera video, footage from inside the patrol vehicle, surveillance video and service logs. Police also denied that the man was homeless and said investigators spoke with a person who identified as the man’s landlord. The man has been renting a room in a house in Sylmar, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, for several years, Burbank police said. The FBI’s Civil Rights Division reviewed the circumstances surrounding the incident as well as the internal investigation and “declined to take any further action,” police said."

Too much trouble to come to the aid of a man clearly in distress?

Here's the problem:

"In an earlier statement, Burbank police said that it had responded to a call near a Burbank hospital about a naked man sitting at a bus stop. The man said he had left the hospital voluntarily and asked to be taken to the North Hollywood metro station. En route the man asked to be let out of the vehicle so he could get a cup of coffee, police said. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank said in a June statement that there had been an incident on public property near the hospital, and that among the calls made to police was a hospital security guard who needed help with a person who appeared to be in distress."

Certainly, was.  The officers couldn't have cared less.  Wake up:

“The police officers transported the man to North Hollywood based on his request, in an effort to assist him,” Burbank police said Wednesday. “Since he was not detained or in police custody, officers released him during transport when he asked to be let out of the police car.” The video released by Krekorian showed two Burbank police officers letting the man out of the back of a police vehicle before driving away. The man, who appeared to be struggling to stand, dropped to his knees and crawled a short distance before lying on the ground."

The following meant to be an excuse for doing shit squat to provide aid to this man clearly in distress?

"Krekorian said at a June news conference that there have long been suspicions that nearby cities push “their unhoused population into the city of Los Angeles” instead of providing care."

Pitiful.  Pathetic.  Inexcusable.

“The person fell to the sidewalk, clearly experiencing a mental health crisis as well as physical injuries,” he said. “And the officers of the Burbank Police Department got back in their vehicle and drove back to Burbank — without giving any aid to this person, without determining whether there was anyone who could provide services to this person.” “They dumped him in North Hollywood,” he added."

Clearly.

"Krekorian said after his office became aware of the video, staffers drove around looking for the man and got him medical care through the city’s fire department once he was located. The man told the staffers that he believed he had a broken leg and had recently become homeless outside of the city of Los Angeles, according to Krekorian. Krekorian’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday. Burbank police said the man “was introduced to services to provide long-term, sustained care, if and when needed.”

"The teen was nervous to hear the results of the investigation. Weeks had passed since the 15-year-old reported that a school resource officer sexually assaulted her. In his office. In the middle of the school day. Now a captain from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department had set up a meeting with the 10th-grader and her therapist to tell them what was going to be done about it. The 38-year-old officer, Deputy Jamel Bradley, had previously been the subject of at least five complaints in his nine years at Spring Valley High School. Parents, fellow deputies, an administrator and a coach had all raised concerns that Bradley was acting inappropriately with teenage girls. The complaints against Bradley are detailed in law enforcement records and court documents. Two of his colleagues had reported that they saw Bradley, alone with a female student, late at night in a secluded parking lot."

That's a problem.  A big problem.

"Capt. Heidi Jackson was aware of some of the past allegations when she met with the 10th-grader and her therapist in May 2018, law enforcement records show. With the girl’s permission, The Washington Post is identifying her by her middle name, Dianah. Sitting in her therapist’s office, Dianah tugged at her armful of bracelets. One said, “It’s ok not to be ok.” Jackson told Dianah that she believed her story, and others did, too, according to notes taken by the girl’s therapist and shared with The Post."

Another big problem:

"But some people on the force, Jackson said, “did not want to see this side” of the school resource officer. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott had personally recruited Bradley, a former star basketball player at the University of South Carolina — placing him at an elementary school before he’d even graduated from the police academy. Jackson recounted the meeting with Dianah in a law enforcement investigative report and deposition. Bradley’s training and school assignments are detailed in his state licensing records and court documents. He was painted as a role model in the community, with glowing evaluations and praise-filled newspaper profiles. Bradley, Jackson told the teen, was “a unicorn in the force … considered rare and precious and above reproach.”

Think so?

"The sheriff’s department, Dianah learned, was not going to arrest Bradley. He was not going to be removed from Dianah’s high school. After briefly being reassigned to another school, Bradley had returned to the halls of Spring Valley. “I can’t go back to school,” Dianah declared. At the time Dianah stepped forward, Spring Valley’s school resource officers were already under scrutiny. A video of a different deputy forcibly arresting a Black student during class had gone viral — an incident that ended with Justice Department oversight of the school policing program in the state’s capital. But even while being monitored by federal authorities, Richland County officials dismissed or failed to thoroughly investigate complaints of sexual misconduct against Bradley, according to a review of hundreds of documents obtained through public records requests, court filings and interviews with students, parents, educators, law enforcement officials and others."

How could that happen?  How is that possible?  A massive failure of the system.

"Bradley did not respond to messages, and his lawyer declined to comment. Lott and school officials would not answer questions from The Post. In court filings, the sheriff’s department and Richland County School District Two have denied mishandling Dianah’s complaint and failing to protect her and other students from Bradley. In South Carolina and across the country, the presence of more than 20,000 local police officers and sheriff’s deputies in schools has been welcomed by many parents fearful of mass shootings and other safety threats, and protested by those concerned about excessive force and the arrests of kids. Largely ignored in the debate: the risk of sexual abuse of children by the officers patrolling their campuses."

Again, how could that happen?  How is that possible?  A massive failure of the system.  The security of these kids should be top priority.  The following is, and remains. truly appalling:

"A Post investigation has found that predatory school police officers have used their positions to meet, groom and exploit students, while the Justice Department, as well as many law enforcement agencies and school systems, have failed to take basic steps to prevent sexual misconduct and root out abusive cops. The Post identified more than 200 elementary, middle and high school police officers who were charged with crimes involving child sexual abuse from 2005 through 2022. Some of these officers had faced prior complaints of flirting, texting or touching students — reports that were often downplayed by supervisors as little more than a cop working to earn a student’s trust."

Hopelessly, clueless.

"In Georgia, police allowed an officer to work in an elementary school after he was twice accused of inappropriate behavior with students. Later he pleaded guilty to molesting an 11-year-old with developmental disabilities. In Minnesota, no action was taken after a deputy was seen with a seventh-grade boy straddling his lap. He covered his office windows with paper and went on to be convicted of sexually abusing multiple students. In Kansas, officials dismissed repeated complaints about a high school officer’s interactions with teenage girls. They didn’t remove him until after he got a 15-year-old pregnant. The Abused by the Badge series examines police officers accused of sexually abusing children and the systemic failures that allow such crimes to occur. The more than 200 officers charged with crimes involving child sexual abuse worked primarily or exclusively in elementary, middle and high schools. They were identified by The Washington Post in collaboration with Bowling Green State University’s Henry A. Wallace Police Crime Database. But not all allegations of police misconduct become public. Sex crimes, especially those involving children, are widely believed to be underreported. Children may be more afraid to come forward; courts may be more likely to seal records involving juveniles; and law enforcement agencies may not release information about the arrests to the media."

Lack of transparency is not sustainable.

"The Post’s analysis only includes sworn officers employed by law enforcement agencies and assigned primarily to schools. It does not include security personnel hired by schools, officers who volunteered at schools or officers employed by college campuses. The Post does not identify victims of alleged sexual abuse without their permission. The young women in this story agreed to use first or middle names and decided whether to be photographed.

"Education leaders have long worked to prevent sexual abuse in schools with policies that warn teachers, aides and coaches not to send private texts or social media messages to students, be alone with them behind closed doors or engage in sexual conversations. But for school resource officers, who are encouraged to serve as mentors for vulnerable students, those rules rarely exist."

How is that possible?  Remains quite a disservice.  So is the following:

"And predatory officers can exploit the complicated arrangement between school districts and law enforcement agencies. They are typically assigned and supervised by their departments, rather than principals. School administrators, who may be the first to learn of inappropriate behavior, frequently have no authority to investigate and discipline officers on their campuses, even when their districts help fund those positions."

How is that possible?  Clearly, security of the kids does not come first.

"The Justice Department, which has provided hundreds of millions of dollars for school police programs, has issued no guidance to sheriffs and police chiefs on how to prevent sexual misconduct by resource officers trusted to keep kids safe."

How is that possible?  An egregious disservice.  So is the following:

"John McDonald, a renowned school safety expert, said he has never seen a policy or training aimed at stopping sexual abuse by school police officers. “It’s time to make this an industry-wide standard. There is no excuse not to,” McDonald said. “If we don’t, we’re going to find ourselves in a position where we’re looking back at it like the Catholic Church did during its sexual abuse scandal.”

There are egregious consequences of this failure:

"At Spring Valley, Dianah was an honor roll student who struggled with depression and anxiety. Deputy Bradley was the adult the 15-year-old had confided in the most — more than any guidance counselor or teacher. Bradley gave Dianah passes to get out of class whenever she felt overwhelmed. She would come to his office on the second floor and talk to him, often with the door closed. When she learned during her meeting with Jackson that Bradley was back at Spring Valley, the 10th-grader was furious. “I still don’t think it’s right that he’s back in school and going to do the same thing again to someone else,” Dianah told Jackson."

No question.  Inevitable.  A massive failure of the system:

"The captain apologized that more wouldn’t be done: The department had “prematurely” closed the investigation, she explained, “without looking at all of the evidence,” according to meeting notes. Jackson, who declined to comment, had been told to “move on.” Jackson noted in her report that the investigation was closed while she was out of the office. Dianah warned that she would not be the last girl to come forward. She would be right. Bradley is now facing sex crime charges — not for his behavior with Dianah, but for allegedly abusing two other female students. If convicted, Bradley could be sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison and be required to register as a sex offender. But prosecutors have offered Bradley a deal, they said. In exchange for a guilty plea, they will recommend Bradley receive probation and no time on the sex offender registry. On Tuesday, the proposed plea will be presented to a judge."

Goddamned outrageous.  The son of a bitch protected and coddled.

"One of the girls Bradley is charged with abusing told The Post she believed she could trust the school resource officer because he was married to a therapist she’d been seeing for years. When Bradley started touching her, she said, he called her “his little secret.” The girl and a teacher she confided in described her years as a patient of Bradley’s wife. The Post also reviewed the girl’s medical records with her permission. Her alleged assault occurred after Dianah’s, during the 15 months that Richland County kept Bradley working as a school resource officer. The sheriff’s department would eventually move him. First, to an elementary school. Then to a middle school. And finally to jail."

Get this:

"Bradley’s career in law enforcement began when he met Sheriff Lott at a prayer breakfast in 2007. They were seated at the same table, Lott would later recount to The State newspaper, when the sheriff asked the former college athlete what he wanted to do next. Growing up in West Virginia, Bradley had been teased about his speech impairment after he lost 80 percent of his hearing. He told Lott he hoped to work with kids and be a role model for children with disabilities. “Good, you’ll make a great school resource officer,” Lott assured him. During a background check obtained by The Post, Bradley, then 28, admitted that he may have given alcohol to people underage. A polygraph report indicated deception when he was asked about using or selling drugs illegally. Still, Bradley was assigned to work at Joseph Keels Elementary School — at least six months before he finished basic training at the police academy."

Appalling.

"In 2009, Bradley moved to Spring Valley High, which had about 1,900 students. Within a year, another school resource officer, Ben Fields, alerted the sheriff’s department about Bradley. Fields told The Post that he was concerned Bradley was acting inappropriately with teenage girls, including driving them home in his patrol vehicle. Bradley was verbally counseled, department records show. Then, in November 2011, Fields forwarded a complaint to a supervisor on the force: A Spring Valley administrator was reporting Bradley for advising a student that her dress was not too sheer and short — after the administrator had explicitly said it was. Bradley’s supervisor was already dealing with another complaint, from a cheerleading coach. The coach, Blythe Branham, said in an interview with The Post that she saw Bradley flirting with one of her varsity cheerleaders at every home football game. With the cheerleader’s permission, The Post is identifying her by her first name, Jade. When Jade was a high school cheerleader in 2011, she said, Bradley began grooming her before a coach complained to law enforcement officials. Jade had met Bradley years earlier at Joseph Keels Elementary."

Gets worse.   Get this:

"When Branham questioned Jade about her relationship with Bradley, the teenager shared that they communicated on Facebook and talked about how it wouldn’t be long before she turned 18. “The other officers know that he is mine,” Jade told Branham. The conversation between Jade and her coach is documented in law enforcement records. Both recounted the details to The Post. Alarmed, the cheerleading coach reported Bradley’s behavior. The school resource officer denied anything inappropriate had happened with Jade, according to internal affairs records, and said they never conversed on Facebook. When the 17-year-old and her parents were brought in for questioning in November 2011, Jade protected Bradley, she later told The Post. She didn’t mention the hugs that the school resource officer gave her. Or how he always told her she was pretty. The coach’s complaint was deemed unfounded, internal affairs records show. The teenager had repeated that she communicated with Bradley on Facebook — but she said no one in the sheriff’s department asked to see the messages."

How is that possible?  Protected and coddled?

"It took nearly two years after Bradley was hired for him to get any specialized school resource officer training. This delay isn’t unusual in the world of school policing. The Post analyzed policies and laws across the country and found the majority of states allow school resource officers, often called SROs, to start working on campuses before they complete specialized training. More than a third of states have no SRO training requirements at all. When officers do receive this education, they are typically instructed that part of their role is to counsel struggling kids. That tremendous access and authority comes with few guardrails, The Post found. In dozens of cases, arrested SROs were accused of abusing children on school grounds, including in their offices. Mo Canady, executive director for the National Association of School Resource Officers, told The Post that officers should never be alone with kids behind closed doors or exchange texts or social media messages with students. “This is something that every SRO working in the school should be required to read and to know,” Canady said."

That's right.  No question. 

"Yet those instructions appear nowhere in the group’s guidelines for officers, which are widely seen as the gold standard for school police programs across the country. The organization, which has received nearly $2 million in Justice Department funding since 2013, uses its “Best Practices” guide to advise schools and law enforcement agencies on everything from what type of uniforms SROs should wear to what paper supplies they need; but not on appropriate boundaries between officers and students."

How is that possible?  Out to lunch?  Hopelessly, clueless?

"When pressed by The Post, Canady said the failure to address sexual misconduct is an oversight the organization is now planning to fix."

"At Spring Valley, students and educators said, Bradley was known for giving out fist bumps and high fives, but usually reserved his hugs for girls. One former student told The Post that when she was a 17-year-old senior in 2015, the officer gave passes to her and her friends whenever they wanted to skip class and hang out in his office."

"Then the senior started going to see Bradley, who was nearly 20 years older, alone. With her permission, The Post is identifying her by her middle name, Jennifer. That October, Bradley invited Jennifer to meet him before school. They made the arrangements using their school email. When Jennifer sent her cellphone number, Bradley responded, “Delete..school can see this.” Emails, phone records, depositions and agency documents detail Jennifer’s interactions with Bradley and law enforcement officials. She recounted them to The Post as well. Ten days later, a school resource officer at Spring Valley made headlines all over the world. But it wasn’t Bradley. Deputy Fields was filmed as he removed a Black student from class because she was refusing to follow instructions. The video showed Fields, who is White, yanking her out of a chair and throwing her across the classroom. Bradley then helped him handcuff and arrest the girl."

No problems with that?  None?

"Community members had already complained to the Justice Department that too many children in Richland County were getting arrested for petty classroom disturbances and ending up in the criminal justice system — concerns, they said, that were dismissed by Sheriff Lott."

Clueless piece of shit.  Hopelessly, so.  Sad, isn't it?

"Community members described their interactions with Lott and the Justice Department, and shared emails about the sheriff. Now Lott, whose school policing program had received more than $2.7 million in federal funding, moved quickly to defuse the outrage over the video. Within days, he held a news conference to announce the firing of Fields. Though local and federal authorities would ultimately choose not to bring charges against Fields, the sheriff made it clear to the public: He was calling on the FBI to investigate. But Lott had a different response weeks later when two of his deputies spotted Bradley in a secluded part of a Target parking lot with a female student at 10:30 p.m. It was Jennifer. “Based on the sensitivity of this issue and the fact that very little people needed to know about this,” Bradley’s supervisor, Capt. John Ewing Jr., wrote in a memo, “I skipped the Chain of Command and spoke with Sheriff Lott.” Capt. John Ewing Jr. was Bradley's supervisor at the Richland County Sheriff's Department."

Outrageously:

"Rather than have internal affairs handle the matter, Lott instructed Ewing, one of his roughly 700 sworn deputies, to interview the girl himself. Ewing described his handling of the incident in a memo and deposition reviewed by The Post. Lott testified years later that he didn’t remember asking Ewing to handle the investigation instead of internal affairs. Jennifer looked at the captain standing in her principal’s office and assumed she was in trouble. She grew more uneasy as Ewing quizzed her about Bradley. Why were they in a dark parking lot together the night before? Years later, in a sworn deposition, Jennifer would describe what happened with Bradley her senior year: They were regularly having sex in his school office. He also had the teenager visit him at his home, she said, advising her on how to avoid his security camera. But in 2015, Jennifer thought she was in a relationship with Bradley — one the school resource officer had instructed her to keep quiet. So the 17-year-old described him as a mentor."

Get this:

"Jennifer and Bradley told Ewing different stories about why they met in the Target parking lot: She said she was seeking his advice about asking a boy to a dance, while he said he was advising her on “one of her friends who was being a ‘bitch.’” Ewing, who declined to comment to The Post, noted the discrepancy in their statements in his memo but didn’t probe further. He would later testify that he did not review Bradley’s school emails or records from his department-issued cellphone. If he had, the supervisor would have discovered more than 20 phone calls, records show, between Bradley and the high school senior. Ewing closed his inquiry by giving Bradley a verbal reprimand for meeting a student after hours. It was the fourth time in five years Bradley had been accused of inappropriate behavior. No one from the school district or the sheriff’s department notified Jennifer’s parents that there were concerns about her interactions with a school resource officer."

Pitiful.  Pathetic.  Appalling.

"The outcome of the inquiry and the other complaints are detailed in department documents and court records. Jeff Temoney is the principal of Spring Valley High School. Weeks after the incident, Jeff Temoney, Spring Valley’s principal, gave Bradley his evaluation. The two men had known each other since their days at the University of South Carolina. Temoney, who declined to comment, gave Bradley the top score for his relationships with students. He ended the evaluation with a written request to the sheriff’s department: Please keep Bradley at Spring Valley. But the questions about Bradley didn’t disappear. Days before graduation in May 2016, there was another complaint about Bradley’s behavior — this time from the mother of one of Jennifer’s friends. She sent an email to the principal, telling Temoney he should train the staff “on NOT having sexual relations with [their] students.” And she went above him, briefing the assistant superintendent and the superintendent about the situation. “I am afraid that it will be brushed aside, as it has been in the past,” the mother told the superintendent in an email."

Fascinating, isn't it?  Pitiful, pathetic as well.  So is the following:

"District officials chose not to launch their own review — despite federal requirements under Title IX to investigate allegations of sexual harassment and assault. The school’s Title IX coordinator later testified she was not informed about the complaint, and Temoney, in his deposition, stated law enforcement was handling the matter. At the sheriff’s department, internal affairs opened an investigation. Bradley was asked a total of seven questions, according to agency records, and he denied having sexual contact with a student. The investigation was closed and labeled “non-sustained” because of insufficient evidence. Jennifer said she and her parents were not contacted."

How about that?  A most convenient whitewash?

"But by the start of the next academic year, the supervision of the school police program was no longer going to be left to Richland County officials alone. The Justice Department’s Office for Civil Rights had launched a three-year monitoring process and was requiring the sheriff to turn over all recent allegations of “improper behavior” involving school resource officers. It’s not clear whether the sheriff’s department failed to turn over the complaints about Bradley and Jennifer — or if federal officials chose not to further investigate them. The Justice Department declined to answer any questions about Bradley or the complaints against him."

No transparency.

"Bradley returned to Spring Valley that August, as Dianah started her freshman year. Dianah’s mom was thrilled to see Bradley at Spring Valley’s 2016 freshman orientation. The school resource officer had helped her sons, she said, and now he was promising to look out for Dianah, her youngest child. She remembered him assuring her: “You don’t have anything to worry about.” Before long, Dianah was confiding in Bradley about problems with friends, a bad breakup and a hospitalization for her mental health. In the fall of her sophomore year, Bradley was featured in a local newspaper for his talent connecting with kids. In an interview with McClatchy News that was published in 2017, Bradley talked about being an SRO and mentor. By then, Dianah was retreating into Bradley’s office almost every day. Bradley, she said, began closing the door more often. A friend of Dianah’s told The Post that in early 2018, she grew worried when the school resource officer began talking to Dianah about his personal life and getting physical with her, hugging the teen and putting his arm around her waist."

Gets worse.  Far worse:

"One day in March, Dianah found her friend in the hallway and revealed that Bradley had just groped her in his office. The friend said she quickly told a school administrator. Then, the friend’s mother wrote the principal, alerting him to “disturbing information about inappropriate behavior and comments” from Bradley. “I know as a parent and a former law enforcement officer, that where there is smoke, there is fire,” the mother wrote in an email reviewed by The Post. “I’m relying on you that this matter will be thoroughly investigated.” The next day, an assistant principal, Stacey Baker, met with Dianah to find out what was going on. Dianah’s conversations with school officials are detailed in law enforcement records, school memos and depositions."

Report goes on and on and on and on.  Think there isn't a serious problem here?  A glaring ongoing lack of accountability.

The Washington Post reports:

"A Richland County school police officer who admitted to sexually abusing two students was sentenced to probation Tuesday after a judge partially accepted a plea deal recommended by prosecutors. The former deputy, Jamel Bradley, could have faced as much as 15 years in prison if he had been convicted of the initial two charges against him. Instead, Richland County Solicitor Byron Gipson’s office offered Bradley a deal that spared him prison time in exchange for pleading guilty to two felonies: assault and battery, as well as sexual battery with a student. He was placed on probation for three years."

That's justice?  Think so?

"Solicitors also recommended that Bradley not be placed on the state’s sex offender registry. But Judge Daniel Coble disagreed and ordered Bradley to register as a sex offender. “It was a mistake but there are consequences,” Coble told Bradley."

No question.  Why did he receive special treatment, however, that any other offender other than a former officer would not have received?

"A statement from one of Bradley’s victims was not read aloud in court but was provided to The Post before the hearing. The Post does not identify victims of alleged sexual abuse without their consent. With the former student’s permission, The Post is identifying her by her first name, Kay. “You took my trust in men, and you took my trust in law enforcement. … You were someone who was paid to protect, and yet all you did was harm,” Kay wrote in her statement. “You deserve a harsher punishment, but that’s not up to me.” Bradley’s sentence of probation was handed down one day after a Washington Post investigation revealed Richland County school and law enforcement officials dismissed or failed to thoroughly investigate years of sexual misconduct complaints against Bradley. The first report of inappropriate behavior was made in 2010. Bradley was not arrested until 2019. Bradley’s attorney and Richland County officials declined to comment on The Post’s findings."

Not possible to credibly defend the indefensible.

"After a 15-year-old sophomore reported being sexually assaulted by Bradley in his office during the school day in 2018, Bradley was allowed to return to his job patrolling the high school. Within months, Bradley sexually abused Kay. As a high-schooler, Kay believed she could trust the school resource officer because his wife was her longtime therapist. Instead, she said, Bradley called her his “little secret.” She told The Post that when she was 17, the deputy repeatedly groped her on the high school football field and once inside his patrol car. Bradley pleaded guilty to assault and battery for a night in 2018 when he drove Kay to a dead-end road. Kay told The Post Bradley penetrated her with his fingers as she said no and pulled away. Bradley also pleaded guilty to sexual battery with a student for abusing a second Spring Valley teenager in his office at the high school. With her permission, The Post is identifying her by her middle name, Jennifer. Jennifer, who did not attend Tuesday’s hearing, said in an interview that she wanted to put the criminal case behind her after it dragged on for more than four years. She believes Bradley deserves to be on the sex offender registry.“It wasn’t just me,” Jennifer told The Post. “It was multiple kids.”

"Three years after the Justice Department's internal watchdog slammed the FBI for its failures in the case of convicted sexual abuser and former U.S. gymnastic team doctor Larry Nassar, an audit released Thursday finds that the bureau is still failing to protect children who have been sexually abused."

Inexcusable.

"The new report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz reviewed a sample of 327 cases and found 42 that were so deficient that auditors felt compelled to contact the FBI and urge immediate attention."

Imagine that.  Seatbelts on:

"In one case, the audit found that a child continued to be sexually abused for 15 months — and another child victim was abused by the same person — while the FBI failed to investigate the case. The IG reported on a separate FBI review that found another such example in which a 2-year-old was being abused for 21 months while the FBI sat on the case and failed to take investigative steps. These cases mirror what happened in the Nassar case, even though FBI Director Christopher Wray assured Congress and the public this would never happen again."

Couldn't be a congenital liar, could he?

"In 47% of the cases examined, the Justice Department watchdog found no evidence that the FBI complied with the mandatory reporting requirements to alert state or local authorities about an allegation of child sexual abuse. In 43% of the cases, the audit found, it wasn’t just a lack of documentation in the file — the FBI needed to take additional investigative steps that should have initially taken place. In the Nassar case, the report found that an additional 70 gymnasts said they were abused by him during a year of inaction while the FBI failed to investigate allegations brought to agents. In response, the FBI suggested this was mainly a case of failing to properly document files, something the report rebuts by saying that 43% of the problem cases required more FBI action, not just paperwork."

How about that?  Egregious failure of the system despite bullshit to the contrary:

"A senior FBI official mentioned budget cuts as one reason this mission is particularly difficult and said they take any compliance issues very seriously. The official said there are a small minority of cases in which a lack of action from the FBI resulted in harm to children, and that in no case was that acceptable to the FBI."

"Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin, D-Ill., blasted the FBI in a statement, saying the FBI’s "failures enabling Larry Nassar’s abuse of young victims continue to remain a stain on the Bureau." "John Manly, an attorney who represented hundreds of Nassar's accusers including Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, said the new report shows that Congress needs to take action to make changes within the FBI. "This report makes clear that the FBI is simply not doing its job when it comes to protecting our children from the monsters among us who stalk them," Manly said. "Despite years of promises and numerous congressional hearings it’s now clear that Larry Nassar could happen again today. It’s time for Congress to take action to reform the FBI. Our children deserve nothing less."

"Most people have heard a version on TV of what are known as the Miranda Rights: “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you.” It’s another thing entirely to hear them in person when a police officer is reciting them while placing you in custody. “These guys have the power to lock you up. They got guns on their hip. It’s intimidating,” a 22-year-old recently told NPR. We aren’t publishing his name because he’s on probation and worried he might face retaliation for talking to a reporter. The first time he heard those words, he was in the sixth grade. Police were arresting him for threatening a bully with a pocket knife. “They didn't call my mom. They didn't call a lawyer. They told me my rights, but I'm 12. So I didn't fully understand what was happening,” says the young man."

Indeed, that's a problem.  A big problem.  Deliberate obliteration of justice.  Here's why:

"That day, he didn’t ask for a lawyer, and he did talk. Studies show nearly all juveniles make the same choice: As many as 90 percent waive their Miranda rights. Yet legal experts say children and teenagers don’t understand the consequences of doing so."

"Now, some states are working to fix that. In the last three years, at least four states — including California, Maryland, New Jersey and Washington — have passed laws banning police from interrogating children until that child has spoken to a lawyer. The brain areas that govern impulsivity, self-regulation and decision-making aren’t fully developed until about the mid-twenties, says Hayley Cleary, an associate professor of criminal justice at Virginia Commonwealth University. “It is fundamentally unfair to interrogate them in the same way we do adults when they literally don’t have the same resources that fully grown people do,” she says."

Chelsea Schmitz-Gillam, a juvenile defense attorney at the Legal Rights Center in Minneapolis, says there is an imbalance of power between young people and police during questioning."

"Eventually, he connected with the nonprofit Legal Rights Center in Minneapolis. Chelsea Schmitz-Gillam, a juvenile defense attorney there, has represented him multiple times. “He knows how to assert his rights when I am sitting next to him. We've practiced it many times,” she says. “I am also not a police officer.” She remembers watching a recording of the young man being questioned. “He says, ‘I think this is the time where I'm supposed to call my lawyer. "In a classroom last spring in St. Paul., Minn., a group of high school students listened to a presentation about what to do in police interactions. The training was held by the Legal Rights Center which, in addition to providing legal representation, conducts “know your rights” trainings for young people around the Twin Cities. The trainer asked the group if they thought people under 18 have the right to ask for a parent when questioned by police. Several students nodded yes, but the answer was no. Some seemed concerned. One said it made her worry about her little brother. “Currently the responsibility is on young people to assert those rights,” says Malaika Eban, executive director of the center. “But a lot of states have moved towards building the responsibility on the system.”

Thankfully, justifiably so.

Disingenuous bullshit cleverly designed to obliterate justice.

“I think it’s just this nervousness, ‘If we add these safeguards, we're not going to get any more information,’ says Thompson, but he added, “if we do it the right way, and everybody’s rights are protected, that should benefit justice as a whole.”

Disingenuous double talk.  Abject bullshit designed to obliterate justice.  Precisely why law enforcement is not, and cannot, be trusted.

"Eban, of the Legal Rights Center, says it’s not about young people getting off the hook for wrongdoing, but about whether they should be questioned alone by an adult with power. “Nobody wants that for their own child,” she says. “If we can just have that breath of: ‘Okay, what would I want to have happen if my kid did something wrong or was accused of doing something wrong?’”

Certainly, wouldn't be having a jackbooted bastard in blue obliterating justice to get his cookies off abusing power.  Right, Sheriff?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.



The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager.  Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
