*************March 26, 2001*************

Before continuing coverage of Hospital employee "expense" reports and update of the Mirelez saga, the following matter has to be addressed, -- again. In light of extraordinarily high levels of corruption and abuse within Llano County government as well as enormous time devoted to aggressively exposing it, it is indeed outrageous this publication is forced to waste additional time, effort, and webspace on the cowardly people of the Llano County Library System.

For nearly two years, readers will recall this publication has targeted everyone from abusive NET goons and Sheriff's Department officers to the District Attorney, County Attorney, County Judge, Chief Appraiser, LISD Superintendent, JP2, Sheriff, and many, many others. All deserving. All justifiably skewered. All, however, offered unlimited unedited space to respond. Not one of these cowardly skanks had the courage to do so. NOT ONE.

While this line of work can indeed be hazardous, to date, no one targeted has directly or imminently threatened this writer. On Thursday, March 22, 2001, however, the exquisitely lovely daughter of one of the Llano County Librarians, (targeted on this website in a series of Newsletters during September 2000), broke new ground. -- If Mom indeed was ever targeted again...... ...Interesting, isn't it? Hell, there's never a dull moment in Llano County. Never. ... After this Newsletter, imagine the fur will truly fly... Oh, well.

All joking aside, the young lady appeared drugged, nuts, -- or both. Irrational and out of control, the transformation from a demure loving fawn to an obscene raving lunatic was quite stunning. ... Dawn of a new day, no doubt.

Remarkably, the young lass seemed to think Mom had somehow been soundly and repeatedly skewered due to unrequited personal problems between this writer and the young lady herself. Not so, sweet, sweet lass. More importantly, don't flatter yourself. There never was any personal relationship, --for whatever the reason. ... Still desperately need an explanation, however? Look in the mirror. Most pointedly, GROW UP.

This writer, in fact, became quite close platonically to the young lady's mother. After all, proper servicing of the website required 3-6hrs. daily in the Library System. Spending so much time around interesting, gifted people leads inevitably to development of personal relationships. Several of the Librarians had become good friends. ... Or so I thought.

Readers are reminded this writer, however, was indeed ejected September 5, 2000 from the Llano County Library System for publishing The Ledger. Sadly, there is no First Amendment in this hell-hole of a county. As reported in a series of Newsletters beginning in early September 2000, Kingsland Head Librarian Pam Downing had earlier betrayed this former patron, apparently in violation of state privacy statutes, to Precinct 3 Commissioner Duane Steuven and Precinct 2 Commissioner Keith Faulkner.

Both unethically, and apparently illegally, ordered the former Library Director to eject this writer. To her credit, she stood tall. It took three tries by an apparently inept and corrupt County Attorney Cheryll Mabray to finally find a way to unconstitutionally eject yours truly. -- With a little help of course from a long-term Llano County Commissioners' Court shill, newly-appointed Library Director Dian Ray.

Sadly, another shill, former Lakeshore Librarian Verna Dick, in her weekly newspaper column disingenuously and falsely justified a new Internet Use "agreement" designed specifically by the County Attorney to eject this writer. Not one of the seven Librarians employed at the time, however, had the courage to stand up and challenge the policy change. Not one.

... Hey, ladies? Ole' J.P. and the "Boys" couldn't have fired all seven of you. If the Library System is clearly NOT about the free exchange of ideas, why the hell are taxpayers looted to fund it? Most pointedly, is the pittance you're paid worth the egregious loss of integrity? ... Apparently, so. Readers are advised these women are indeed some of the most educated, gifted, and interesting people in the County. Apparently, however, they lack character and backbone.

Loyalty, in fact, is certainly rewarded by Ole' J.P. and the "Boys" on the Commissioners' Court. Ms. Dick was subsequently promoted to Assistant Library Director. Indeed, was it worth it, Verna? ... Hell, the fur's going to fly for sure, now... ... Take cover... ... "Incoming!"....

All joking aside, Llano County Librarians outraged by this publication and wanting a piece of this writer's ass, however, ought to get in line. After all, NET goons, abusive Sheriff's officers, the District Attorney, County Attorney, County Judge, JP2, Sheriff, Superintendent of Schools, and many other targets of this publication have first dibs.

... Nothing quite like being so warmly "loved" and "treasured" by the community, is there? -- Hell, must be doing something right, though. After all, this publication has deliberately, continuously, and robustly rattled the cages of numerous S.O.B.s responsible for the abuse, corruption, waste, and looting of taxpayers. Unapologetically, so. Sadly, however, taxpayers continue to have their heads securely lodged up a bodily orifice seldom seeing the light of day. Too bad.

Continuing coverage of Llano Memorial Healthcare System employee "expense reports", an additional $4,313.31 was found in seminar expenses. -- At a time the Hospital is in dire financial distress. An Employee of the Quarter was paid $25.00. ... Not clear which quarter, however.

An additional $1,000.00 in Special Needs (employee hardship grants) was found. -- One employee indeed received $500 for "Physical Abuse From Husband, And No Financial Support During Separation." Is this proper use of Hospital funds? -- At a time when the facility is facing insolvency?

An additional $726.01 was found in reimbursements for college classes. Hospital employees looted $695.50 in "X-Ray School" expenditures in San Antonio. -- At a Best Western. Former CFO Mindy Smith drew an additional $232.62, -- mostly for an accounting seminar. ... Apparently, it did not preclude her "resignation" as Chief Financial Officer.

Another $75.00 was found in Christmas decoration expenses. One employee was reimbursed $100.05 for an overnight stay in San Antonio for a "Pharmacy test".

The latest records inspection produced an additional $24,090.41 in employee "expenses" for a grand total so far of $121,891.93. For a period dating back only approximately 18 months. Interesting, isn't it?

Apparently, Hospital management, however, is reading this publication. -- An Administrative employee was ordered by Executive Secretary Karen Kinard to be present during this writer's latest inspection of records, pulled months ago and left in the Diane Gage Learning Center. ... The first time in months yours truly was NOT left alone during the inspection. Fascinating, isn't it? The Administrator is clearly dragging his feet on the ongoing inspection process, allowing only 1hr. at a time and stretching the period between visits to approximately one month.

This publication is in dire need of funds to sue the Hospital Administrator/CEO for Public Information Act violations and stonewalling. The same is true for the Superintendent of Schools. Enormous pressure, however will continue to be applied on both in coming weeks, -- provided this publication in fact continues.

You're being looted, friends. Help me to fight the corruption by funding its exposure.

The District Attorney apparently wants none of this to see the light of day. Otherwise, Ole' Sam "The Sham" would have to explain why no action to date has been taken. -- Despite the fact most of these irregularities, with the exception of LMHS employee "expense reports", were publicly reported here and elsewhere quite some time ago.

Briefly updating the Mirelez saga for now, the Department of Human Services reversed its earlier decision rescinding Home Health Care and fully restored all benefits, -- until resolution of criminal charges. ... Apparently due to pressure brought by this publication.

The case worker himself showed up at the Mirelez residence to announce the change. A shower for the disabled will indeed be installed as earlier planned. Just as importantly, the couple's daughter, Elena Mirelez Limon has been reinstated as care-giver for her disabled parents. ... More on all this shortly.

"President" George "The Tush" Bush and his Republican cronies on Capitol Hill are once again demonstrating the GOP is in fact the party of the rich, big business, and the fascist Right. Reneging on a campaign promise, Ole' George backed off requiring power plants to improve carbon dioxide emissions.

Why? To benefit the bottom line of power producers during a phony, "manufactured" energy crisis. -- A "crisis" deliberately designed by greedy corporations to line their bottomless pockets. Sadly, history indeed appears to be repeating itself. When will a suckered public finally wake up? ... Think Californians ever will?

Outrageously, the "President" used recently passed legislation to retract a Clinton Administration Executive Order forcing ergonomic regulations on corporate America. The Order was designed to reduce employee repetitive stress injuries. Can't have that, now, can we, George? ... The hell with the workforce, right, Mr. "President"? Precisely, why the "President" and his Republican cronies have done nothing to eliminate corporate welfare. Worse yet, they're doing all they can to "talk down" the economy. Indeed, a self-fulfilling prophecy, no?

Sadly, there is little difference between the GOP and Democratic Party. Democrats, however, are aggressively using the same recently passed legislation to reverse Ole' George's Executive Order removing funding from foreign family-planning groups who offer abortion counseling. Bottom line? The "President", again, is outrageously attempting to dictate what women, (this time foreign woman), can and cannot do with their uterus. -- This, from a Right Wing fascist and a political party who allegedly champion individual rights.

Indeed, the hypocrisy is stunning. So is the egregious invasion of privacy of the bedroom. Adolph and Benito would have been proud. Right, Mr. "President"? We can certainly thank an outrageously biased U.S. Supreme Court for "crowning" Ole' George , "Chief Executive". Lucky, aren't we? Indeed, the people are paying the price. ... So is the principle of liberty.

Fascist Congressional Republicans are attempting an end-run around Roe, rather than full frontal assault. -- Choosing instead to gradually eviscerate and chip away hard-won abortion rights.

A return to back-alley abortions and butchered women, however, is not acceptable. Nor is outrageously and arrogantly forcing women to bring unwanted pregnancies to term. Abortion rights groups and others will certainly target these fascists at the polls and in court. Should American women lose reproductive liberty and control of their uterus, however, it will indeed be time for a second revolution.

Friends, serious consideration is given by this writer to simply walking away from The Ledger due to a glaring lack of financial support from the readership. As strongly asserted in Special Edition V65, lacking any vested interest and no longer owning property in Llano County, why continue in the absence of financial support from a cowardly and selfish community? -- Despite a combined Llano Ledger and Llano Ledger 2 visitor count exceeding 86,000?
