Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable. Time to step up.  Now.

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Three hundred ninety four weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Hey, Sheriff?  Reportedly, promote Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 to Sergeant?  If true, yet another classic example of survival of the unfittest in the law enforcement community.  Readers are reminded this is the very same idiot, clueless asshole responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to the Pace Arrow as reported in each edition of this publication.  Far more to Kingsland property owner James Berardi in a property dispute.  -- A dispute engineered by Johnny Greene, apparently financed by a bribe to the former County Attorney, current District Attorney, and Sheriff.  A federal investigation of Llano County government and the aforementioned allegedly corrupt and abusive bastards in this ongoing fiasco is desperately needed.  Tim Chorney.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Three hundred ninety four weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Three hundred ninety four weeks.  Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Uncommon Valor.  Whenever an officer does something heroic and/or of exceptional benefit to the community, it always leads in this publication.  Always.  The following is quite a tear jerker.  Most heartrending to date.  Seatbelts on.

CBS News reports:

"A boy in Florida called 911 but didn't have a real emergency. Instead, he wanted a hug from an officer – and the responding deputy understood. Footage from a bodycam, worn by Deputy Scott Pracht of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, as well as footage from the home's doorbell camera, shows the officer responding and talking to the boy's mom. "We had a 911 call," Pracht says in the video. "We can talk to my son," the mother says. "To be honest, he doesn't even know what 911 is." The boy's mom confirms he has a disconnected cellphone – but even phones that are not connected to service providers can call 911. Her young son comes to the door with his cellphone and when asked if he called the police he says: "Well, I wanted to give him a hug." "You called him to give him a hug?" his mom says."

Get this:

"Body worn camera captures the moment a #teamHCSO deputy responded to a call from a young boy who dialed 911 not because of an emergency, but because he simply wanted to hug a deputy. Deputy Pracht shared a hug, and took a moment to teach the importance of the emergency line while spreading love.
Posted by Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on Thursday, November 2, 2023"

Indeed.  Did he ever.  Uncommon Valor.  Best in policing.  Hat's off.

"As his mom checks his phone's call log, the boy runs out to hug Pracht, who embraces him back. The phone showed the boy did call 911 at 12:41 that afternoon, his mom says.  "I know what's your phone number — 9-1-1," the boy says to the deputy.  After hugging the boy, Pracht explained that 911 is for those who are in trouble and need help. "It's very important," he tells the boy. "You need to be careful when you call that number, okay?" "Only in emergencies. And if you're hurt, or someone else is hurt, your mom needs help. You know, someone is doing something they're not supposed to do. Give us a call, okay?" The boy apologized, and Pracht told him not to worry about it. The sheriff's office posted the video on Facebook on Thursday, where it was viewed nearly 10,000 times. "Omg, you can't be mad, he called to give you a hug," one commenter wrote. "He was very sweet and Deputy Pracht is more than happy to give a hug! A valuable lesson learned and a sweet moment shared," the sheriff's office replied."

Indeed.  No question.

"In a statement, Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister said they "deeply appreciate the genuine kindness shown by this young child." "Our deputies are more than willing to share a hug and spread love to children in our community. However, it's essential for everyone to remember that 911 is a lifeline for emergencies," he said. "We are here to help, and we encourage parents and educators to teach children about the appropriate use of emergency services."

Indeed, a most critical lesson.

"CBS News has reached out to the boy's mother for further information and is awaiting response."

This is indeed the very, very best in law enforcement.  Without good law enforcement a democratic republic cannot survive.

A second example of Uncommon Valor.  Seatbelts on.  Certainly, an impressive way to start off a career in law enforcement.

ABC News reports:

"Trent Kersey says he has known since he was a little kid that he wanted to be a police officer. On Halloween, his longtime dream came true, about an hour after he and his wife Victoria Kersey welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Theo, at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California. Theo's arrival, about a week earlier than his expected due date of Nov. 6, threw a wrench into Trent Kersey's original plan -- to graduate from San Joaquin Delta College Post Academy this week and get sworn in as a Modesto police officer. "The day before, we were practicing rehearsals at the academy for our graduation, and then [I] came home that afternoon and talked to the wife. And then, next thing you know, we gotta go down to the hospital that night, and I had to call the academy staff and my department and let them know I wasn't gonna make it to graduation," Trent Kersey, 25, told "Good Morning America." The father of two said it felt "bittersweet" to not be able to share the milestone with his fellow classmates, but at the same time, he was "excited" to meet his son and be there for his family. He said the staffers at his academy and the police department were all "very, very understanding" as well, but what happened next was another big surprise. "My sergeant was just checking in on me, [making] sure things [were] OK. And then he reached out to me and said, 'Hey, how would you feel about me, the chief and other higher-ups in the department coming by and swearing you in at the hospital?'" he recalled. Trent Kersey, who also serves in the National Guard, said he was quick to reply. "I said, 'That'd be awesome. I'd be honored,'" the Army veteran told "GMA." He said he then spoke with his wife and hospital staff, and with everyone on board, the Modesto Police Department brought the ceremonial swearing-in event to Victoria Kersey's hospital room. "Theo was born, and about an hour later, the chief of Modesto PD and my sergeant [and] other higher-ups came by and swore me in," Trent Kersey said. Care to bet this newly sworn officer will be a most exemplary cop?  Will indeed honor his oath to uphold the law and U.S. Constitution?  Hope so.  If not, his son will certainly remind him of that very day Dad was sworn in holding him shortly after Mom gave birth.  :)  Indeed, quite a legacy to live up to.

"Inacio said the unusual swearing-in ceremony was an example of how the Modesto Police Department tries to emphasize a "family-first" approach for their community. "This career overwhelms you. It can suck you in, and the biggest thing is letting these new officers know, 'We support you. It's family first.' They're the ones that are going to be there when this career is over. It's important to start that from the beginning," Inacio said."

Indeed.

"The Kersey family are now back home from the hospital. Trent Kersey said he is "super excited" to one day recount what happened to his two children, 1-year-old son Maverick and baby Theo. He added that he hopes his personal story will shine a positive light on people working in law enforcement. "Law enforcement are people too. We're not just out there doing a job. We're also people and it proves that we care, we actually care about families and what's going on in the community," he said."

Hat's off, Officer Kersey.  Good, honorable, law-abiding officers who who respect and adhere to the United States Constitution ensure survival of a democratic republic.

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Former officer accepts plea deal in Nichols murder.  In follow-up to an horrific case covered repeatedly here and elsewhere, The Associated Press reports:

"A former Memphis police officer pleaded guilty Thursday in the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols in exchange for prosecutors recommending a 15-year sentence, becoming the first of five officers charged in the case to admit guilt."

Think that's justice?

"Desmond Mills Jr. entered his plea during a hearing at the Memphis federal courthouse as part of a larger agreement under which he will also plead guilty to related charges in state court. It wasn’t immediately clear if any of the other officers would follow suit. Attorneys for three of the officers declined to comment and William Massey, the lawyer for Emmitt Martin, said in a text message that they “will stay the course” with the former officer’s criminal defense. Mills pleaded guilty to federal charges of excessive force and obstruction of justice and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. The final sentencing decision rests with the judge. Mills remains free on bail ahead of his May 22 sentencing hearing. Nichols’ mother, RowVaughn Wells, shook as she described hearing how five large men beat her skinny son. “This one today was very difficult for me because this was really the first time I actually heard somebody tell and say what they actually did to my son,” she told reporters outside the courthouse. “So, this was very difficult. But I’m hoping that Mr. Mills, it was his conscience that allowed him to make this plea agreement, and not because of his lawyers telling him it was the right thing to do.”

Readers are reminded:

"Caught on police video, the beating of Nichols in January was one in a string of violent encounters between police and Black people that sparked protests and renewed debate about police brutality and the need for police reform in the U.S. The five former officers who were charged also are Black."

That's most disturbing.  These bastards certainly knew better.

"Mills and four other former Memphis Police Department officers were charged in federal court with using excessive force, failing to intervene, deliberate indifference and conspiring to lie, as well as obstruction of justice after they were caught on camera punching, kicking and beating Nichols on Jan. 7. He died three days later. The five — Mills, Martin, Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley and Justin Smith — pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and other charges in state court. Mills is the first to agree to plead guilty. Nichols’ mother and her husband said the possibility of 15 years in prison is “a start.” Nichols’ stepfather, Rodney Wells, noted that Mills has a family, with three children 6 years old and younger. “Fifteen years is a long time with no parole,” Rodney Wells said at the news conference. “That’s going to affect his family, that’s going to affect him.” Blake Ballin, Mills’ defense attorney, told reporters that Mills “understands he did something wrong and he’s taking responsibility for it.” Ballin added that there’s “overwhelming evidence of the guilt of people involved here,” and if authorities need Mills to testify at a possible trial, he will. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said Mills’ cooperation “probably would incentivize” the other officers to consider plea deals too. Mills will also cooperate in the U.S. Department of Justice’s investigation into the Memphis Police Department, which Mulroy said should lead to systemic reform."

Hopefully, that's true.  We'll see.

"Mulroy said the defendants hold “different levels of responsibility” in Nichols’ death and that Mills “is not the worst of the five” officers charged. Ben Crump, the attorney for Nichols’ family, said Mills’ decision continues the “sea change” witnessed after George Floyd’s death, when the Minneapolis police chief testified during former Officer Derek Chauvin’s murder trial that he had violated departmental policy, values and principles. “The precedent that’s being set now — police officers tell the truth, even if that means piercing the blue veil,” Crump told reporters."

About time.  Been a problem decades.

"The plea agreement sets out Mills’ role in the fatal beating, detailing how he pepper-sprayed Nichols three times before pulling out a baton and yelling, “I’m about to baton the (expletive) out of you.” He repeatedly struck Nichols, who was on the ground and surrounded by officers, never giving him an opportunity to comply with the command, “give us your hands!” After the beating, Mills and the other officers failed to tell the responding medics that they had beaten Nichols, instead saying he was on drugs. Meanwhile, among themselves they discussed “taking turns hitting Nichols, hitting Nichols with straight haymakers, and everybody rocking Nichols. During these conversations, the officers discussed hitting Nichols to make him fall and observed that when Nichols did not fall from these blows, they believed they were ‘about to kill’ him,” according to the plea agreement. Martin used hand signals to indicate to Mills that his body camera was still recording. Mills removed the camera and placed it on the back of a patrol car. Mills told supervisors at the scene that he knew Nichols was in bad shape and he “expressed concerns about Nichols’ survival,” according to the agreement. When the five officers spoke later, they discussed what the body camera recording might show and conspired to mislead investigators. That included agreeing not to report that Martin had repeatedly struck Nichols in the head."

Out of control jackbooted bastards.

"After Nichols’ death, all five officers were fired from the department and the crime-suppression team they were part of was disbanded. The four remaining officers have a May 6 trial date in federal court. A trial has not yet been set in state court. The officers said they pulled Nichols over because he was driving recklessly, but Police Chief Cerelyn “CJ’ Davis said no evidence was found to support that allegation. Nichols ran from officers, who tried to restrain him. He pleaded for his mother as he was pummeled just steps from his home. An autopsy report showed Nichols died from blows to the head, and that the manner of death was homicide. The report described brain injuries, cuts and bruises to the head and other parts of the body."

How could fellow human beings do this to one another?  Especially, those who have sworn an oath to follow the law and U.S. Constitution?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Law enforcement has a long, long, long way to go in policing.  The Associated Press reports:

"Chicago-area police serving an arrest warrant entered the wrong home in 2021 and held a disabled woman, her four young grandchildren and others for hours, violating their civil rights, a federal lawsuit alleges."

Why did it take two years to get to this point?  Why all the foot-dragging by law enforcement?

"Adela Carrasco, 63, her grandchildren and other plaintiffs contend in a lawsuit filed Wednesday that officers went to wrong address and demanded entry, even after Carrasco told them the person they were seeking didn’t live at her residence in a multi-unit home in Joliet, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of Chicago. The suit alleges that after Carrasco opened the door, officers pointed loaded firearms directly at her and her grandchildren, who were ages 10, 12, 13 and 14 at the time, and detained them, relatives and others for six hours without legal cause on Nov. 2, 2021. Police also allegedly refused requests by Carrasco, who has COPD and asthma and walks with a cane, to get her asthma inhaler and use the bathroom."

Surprised?

“This is unacceptable behavior towards young children and an elderly, disabled woman, regardless of the circumstances,” Zach Hofeld, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, said in a statement. “There is a modicum of decency and reasonableness with which police must treat the elderly and children.”

Not only the elderly and children.  The entire public.

"Although officers did not have a search warrant, while they were inside Carrasco’s residence they allegedly cut open couch cushions, flipped mattresses and pulled clothing from drawers. The complaint contends police violated the plaintiffs’ Fourth Amendment right protecting individuals from improper search and seizures as well as their due process rights under the Fourteenth Amendment. It seeks unspecified damages for “egregious violations” of the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights, emotional distress, psychological pain and the suffering. When officers arrived at Carrasco’s residence, the suit alleges they knew they were at the wrong address and were using the arrest warrant for a then-18-year-old man who lived in the unit adjacent to Carrasco’s “as a false pretext” to search her residence. Officers also shouted a surname different from the last name listed on the warrant for the young man, who was wanted in connection with weapons-related offenses, it contends. The plaintiffs were all living at the time in the adjacent units within the same home and all were relatives, with the exception of two girlfriends, their attorneys said. The two residential units were clearly marked with different addresses. But the suit alleges that a Joliet police detective acted “on a hunch” and wondered if the suspect’s older brother, who lived at Carrasco’s residence, could be connected to a Halloween party shooting days earlier that killed two people. At the time, the “defendants faced enormous, mounting, public pressure to make an arrest” in that deadly shooting, the suit says. Officers eventually entered the adjacent residence and arrested the 18-year-old. But despite his arrest officers detained Carrasco, her grandchildren and the others for hours, it alleges."

Get this:

"Police later arrested and charged three people in the Halloween shooting, and none of those suspects had “any relation” to the 18-year-old or anyone who lived at either of the two units, the suit says. It names as defendants the city of Joliet, more than a dozen current or former Joliet officers, Will County and several officers with the county sheriff’s department. The U.S. Marshals Service is also a defendant because two current or former members of the federal agency were also involved in serving the warrant, the complaint alleges. The city of Joliet does not comment on pending litigation, said Christopher Regis, deputy corporation counsel for the city. Messages seeking comment on the lawsuit were left Friday with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service."

No transparency.  Zero.  Therefore, no credibility.  None.  Nada.  Zero.  Zilch.  Sad, isn't it?

Another corrupt sheriff?   In follow-up to an earlier edition here, The Associated Press reports:

"The FBI is investigating a Texas sheriff who faced complaints of corruption from his own deputies for years before drawing broader scrutiny for his agency’s response to a mass shooting, according to a woman interviewed by federal agents. The woman said she’s twice met with a pair of FBI agents in recent months after contacting them about what she feels was the sheriff’s botched investigation of her brother’s killing. Jenifer Jones told The Associated Press the agents gathered records accusing San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers and his staff of wide-ranging misconduct and told her they were looking for potential civil rights violations. During hourslong interviews, Jones said they asked specific questions about cases and events well beyond her brother’s death. Federal investigators’ interest in the rural sheriff comes after an AP investigation found longstanding accusations that Capers has ignored deputies’ misconduct and neglected basic police work while pursuing asset seizures that boost his office’s $3.5 million budget but don’t always hold up in court. It’s unclear how far along the FBI investigation is or when it might be concluded. Many federal investigations never result in criminal charges. An FBI spokesperson said the agency neither confirms nor denies investigations. Capers did not directly respond to calls seeking comment, but his second-in-command said they haven’t heard from agents and that their office is always open to outside scrutiny. “I look forward to the visit, if they’ll show up here and ask the other half of the story,” Chief Deputy Tim Kean said."

That right?

"The probe follows years of complaints by the sheriff’s staff to state and federal law enforcement. Capers gained prominence in May while leading the dayslong search for a man who fatally shot five neighbors in the county, which is an hour’s drive from Houston. But he also drew criticism for initially providing inaccurate information about deputies’ response time and from some residents who said they felt neglected by and even fear the sheriff. The time agents spent with Jones shows they have “a great deal of interest in information she’s providing,” said Michelle Lee, a retired FBI agent in Texas. She noted that’s a strong indicator of an open investigation, but warned that such probes can go on under-the-radar for years. Jones, 47, said she reached out to the FBI over the summer, hoping the scrutiny of Capers following the shooting would make it easier for her to draw attention to the sheriff’s investigation into her brother’s death. Jones’ brother, John Wayne Dodge, was fatally shot in 2020 and sheriff’s deputies arrested his son for murder. But in 2022 prosecutors dropped the case “in the interest of justice,” court records show. Jones believes another man is responsible for her brother’s death and was never adequately investigated. San Jacinto County District Attorney Todd Dillon said information about that man was also presented to a grand jury in 2020. Dillon said that he couldn’t comment on another agency’s investigation, but that after taking office last year he concluded there wasn’t “sufficient evidence or cause to proceed” with the case against Dodge’s son. In September, Jones said she met with two FBI agents from Bryan, Texas. During the interview, she said they indicated there might not be much they could do about Dodge’s case but asked for her help connecting them with people who may have been wronged by the sheriff."

Fascinating, isn't it?

"Jones said she also gave the agents a copy of a police consultant’s report that compares the sheriff’s office to organized crime. The county leaders who paid nearly $50,000 for the report last year disregarded its recommendation to ask the Texas Rangers’ public corruption squad to investigate Capers. Agents would consider it a “red flag” that officials ignored the conclusion of a report they paid for, Lee said."

No question.

"Jones provided the names and official email addresses of the agents she met with. A law enforcement official confirmed agents with those names work for the FBI in Bryan. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. Jones said she met with them again in October, providing more records and contact information for other people who were interested in talking about the sheriff. She recalled one agent telling her they were looking for cases in which people’s rights were violated. Jones said she wants county residents to know there is an outside authority they can turn to with complaints about the sheriff. “I feel like the victims of this county have nowhere else to go,” she said."

San Jose officer fired over racist texts.  NBC News reports:

"A San Jose, California, police officer was fired after an investigation revealed he had sent "disgusting text messages that demonstrated racial bias," San Jose Chief of Police Anthony Mata said in a release Friday. The former officer, Mark McNamara, allegedly sent a number of racist text messages. The department’s internal affairs investigators discovered the messages during an unrelated criminal investigation into the officer, according to the release. McNamara had been involved in an officer-related shooting at La Victoria Taqueria in downtown San Jose on March 27, 2022, according to the release. He was placed on routine administrative leave after the shooting, according to a police briefing. Text messages shared by the department, with the names and phone numbers of the people involved partially redacted, were sent the day after the shooting and in June and July 2023. Mata said that when the text messages were discovered, a separate investigation into McNamara was launched "immediately." "I hate black people," one of the texts McNamara sent said, according to documents released by police. In another message, McNamara identifies himself as white. He also used variations of the N-word multiple times, according to the set of messages police released. A current employee of the police force who was found to be on the receiving end of some of McNamara's messages "engaged in other concerning dialogue with the former officer," Mata said in the release. That unnamed employee has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation."

Precisely what "concerning dialogue?"

"There is zero tolerance for even a single expression of racial bias at the San Jose Police Department," Mata said in the statement, adding that "the messages were found due to the expansion of our Internal Affairs Unit’s efforts to thoroughly investigate all questionable conduct and is why we have made investments in a new early warning system." Mata said this is the "promised accountability" resulting from his department being "proactive and transparent" in all investigations. "If any employee’s racial bias rears its ugly head, rest assured that I will take immediate action to ensure they are not part of this organization," Mata said. "I am extremely proud of the 99.9% of officers whose achievements and dedication to this community are unmatched and I will not let the actions of a few officers cloud the extraordinary work being done in our city every day."

“There is nothing more sickening than a person in power abusing their position,” Mayor Matt Mahan said in the statement. “I will sleep better tonight knowing that this individual is no longer carrying a badge and gun."

"In a statement Saturday, San Jose Police Officers' Association president Steve Slack called the alleged behavior “beyond unacceptable” and said “we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.” “This incident represents the actions of an individual. It is not a reflection of those of us who serve with honor and who treat every member of our community with the respect and dignity they deserve,” the statement said. “If these allegations are true, then this individual must face the sternest consequences possible.” McNamara is no longer represented by the association. "He quit the force and as such he forfeits his membership in the union," association spokesperson Tom Saggau said."

Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state, where murderous officers are protected and coddled.  Not held accountable for their crimes.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

In follow-up to an outrageous case covered repeatedly here and elsewhere, ABC News reports:

"A jury has acquitted Nathan Woodyard on charges of reckless manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the second trial concerning the death of 23-year-old Elijah McClain following an altercation with Aurora, Colorado, police. Woodyard was the first police officer on the scene in August 2019 and put McClain in a carotid hold. He pleaded not guilty. In closing arguments, the prosecution argued the carotid hold that Woodyard placed McClain in had contributed to McClain's death. The prosecution also argued that if Woodyard had followed what he was taught in training, he would have known how to respond to McClain's pleas for help."

No justice.  A murderous officer protected and coddled.  How can the public have faith and trust in law enforcement?

"McClain told officers during their encounter that he was having trouble breathing, and he later choked on his vomit while he was restrained, the previous trial revealed. "This trial is about the defendant and his teammates doing nothing to help Elijah McClain. This trial is about their continued callousness and indifference to Mr. McClain's suffering," Assistant Attorney General Ann Joyce said during opening arguments."

No question.

"The defense argued the ketamine administered by the EMTs that night was responsible for McClain's death. "The evidence cannot leave the real possibility that Nathan did not know that the paramedics would come in and overdose," defense attorney Andrew Ho said."

All the accused played off one another, blamed each other.  Goddamned jury apparently bought the bullshit.

"McClain was stopped by police on his way home from a convenience store on Aug. 24, 2019. A passerby called 911 to report McClain as acting "sketchy" with a ski mask on; however, the caller said there was no weapon and that no one was in danger at the time. McClain was wearing a ski mask at the time because, according to his family, he had anemia, a blood condition that can make people feel cold more easily. When officers arrived on the scene, they told McClain they had a right to stop him because he was "being suspicious."

Goddamned f--king bullshit.  Congenital liars.

"In police body camera footage, McClain can be heard telling police he was going home, and that "I have a right to go where I am going." Woodyard placed McClain in a carotid hold and he and the other two officers on the scene moved McClain by force to the grass and restrained him. McClain can be heard pleading with officers in police body camera footage, saying he can't breathe correctly. "I'm so sorry. I have no gun, I don't do that stuff. I don't do fighting. Why are you taking me?" McClain can be heard saying in body camera footage. "I can't breathe," McClain said, according to the body camera footage. He echoed these words several times. When EMTs arrived at the scene, McClain was given a shot of 500 milligrams of ketamine for "rapid tranquilization in order to minimize time struggling," according to department policy, and was loaded into an ambulance where he had a heart attack, according to investigators. McClain was declared brain-dead days later and died on Aug. 30, 2019. McClain's cause of death, which was previously listed as "undetermined," was listed in an amended autopsy report as "complications of ketamine administration following forcible restraint." The manner of death remained listed as "undetermined" as it was in the initial report. Woodyard's employment by the police force is subject to a city charter pending the outcome of his trial."

Goddamned galling in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

Readers will recall:

"In the first trial in connection with McClain's death, officer Randy Roedema was found guilty on Oct. 12 of criminally negligent homicide and assault in the third degree. He will be sentenced in January and could face up to five years in prison and be fined more than $100,000. His employment with the police force was terminated following his conviction last month. Another officer, Jason Rosenblatt, was found not guilty on charges of reckless manslaughter, assault in the second degree and criminally negligent homicide. His employment with the police force was terminated in 2020."

Colorado Public Radio reports:

"Aurora police officer Nathan Woodyard was found not guilty of recklessly contributing to the death of Elijah McClain after a jury deliberated for about a day."

No justice.  The jury protected and coddled this murderous son of a bitch.  Goddamned disgrace to the badge.  Precisely why there is so little faith and trust in law enforcement.

"Prosecutors say that Woodyard gave the 23-year-old unarmed Black man a carotid hold and failed to provide proper follow-up care while he was detained on the ground and unable to breathe. Jurors, though, apparently believed Woodyard’s own argument under oath that he did what he was trained to do after the carotid hold —  a police maneuver that cuts blood flow off to the brain and briefly causes unconsciousness. It is now banned in Colorado but was an accepted use of force at the time in Aurora. Woodyard said he placed McClain in a recovery position, called medics and then trusted officers and paramedics to care for McClain while he composed himself that August night in 2019. Woodyard tearfully told jurors he was weeping to his supervisor on the scene because he was fearful that he was going to die and needed to step away."

Jesus Christ.  They bought his tears and bullshit.  Those of a murderer.  His victim was unjustifiably stopped by these jackbooted bastards.  Had no probable cause.  Was no threat to anyone.  A young guy with serious health issues.  Got killed for nothing.  Out of control jackbooted bastards in uniform who get their cookies off abusing and murdering unarmed, law-abiding citizens.  Could it be blatant racism was also a factor?

"He is the second officer acquitted in the incident that roiled the Aurora Police Department and sparked statewide police reform, including a ban on carotid holds. One officer, Randy Roedema, was convicted last month of criminally negligent homicide in McClain’s death."

The twelve members of the jury were so goddamned gutless they couldn't even look the murdered victim's mother in the eye:

"The 12 members of the jury avoided eye contact with both Elijah’s mother, Sheneen, and Woodyard. When the verdict was read, McClain sat with Attorney General Phil Weiser and wept for several minutes. On the other side of the room, Woodyard sat at the defense table with his attorneys. His wife sat quietly behind him. They left the room first after several minutes. He did not look over to the huddle around McClain."

Too goddamned gutless.  Sad, isn't it?  The son of a bitch too gutless to stand tall and apologize to her for the murder of her son.  The fist of the victim's mother denied justice was precisely where it belonged.  In the air:

"She eventually walked out of the courtroom with a fist up. She held the hand of a friend and walked across the large Adams County Justice Center parking lot, both of them had their fists in the air. Media and at least one other advocate scrambled behind them. They eventually stopped and McClain asked for space. “Please respect the boundaries that I am speaking,” she said, exactly quoting her son in his first moments after Woodyard went hands-on with him, according to body-worn camera footage."

Sadly, the following quote is ass backwards.  Prosecutors proved their case.  The jury refused to hold the murderous jackbooted bastard accountable for his crime:

"During the three-week trial, prosecutors failed to prove to jurors that Woodyard, who had been on the police force at the time for about two years, had ample training and experience to know what to do when approaching McClain that night after receiving a 911 call on a suspicious person. They said Woodyard ignored APD policies that officers approach members of the public with empathy and that they practice active listening. He ignored mandates for de-escalation, prosecutors said. And, state attorney Jason Slothouber noted, Woodyard ignored perhaps the most important thing of all: required medical follow-up and diligence after placing a carotid hold, which cuts off blood flow to a person’s brain and usually briefly causes them to lose consciousness. “Four years later he has empathy,” Slothouber said, referring to Woodyard, who tearfully testified in his own defense earlier this week. “But the version of the defendant that Elijah McClain got is the one who caused his death by ignoring his training, ignoring Elijah’s claims and pleas for help, that he can’t breathe and that is exactly the story he was trained to avoid. That is why he’s guilty.”

No question.

The following is disingenuous bullshit coming from shysters more interested in absolving their client than principle:

"Defense attorneys for Woodyard acknowledged the sympathetic nature of the case, saying during closing arguments, “Elijah McClain matters.”

Clearly, he didn't.  Had he, he would be alive today.

The following is additional disingenuous bullshit not based on reality:

"They convinced a jury that Woodyard’s limited interactions with McClain that night did not amount to a “reckless negligence” in causing his death. Instead, they squarely laid the blame on the overdose of ketamine given to McClain by the paramedics. “There are people guilty of killing Elijah McClain but they are not here today,” said Andrew Ho, Woodyard’s attorney. “Nathan Woodyard did not kill Elijah McClain.”

That's a lie.  Both the officers and the medics caused the victim's death:

"The forensic pathologist who conducted his autopsy said McClain's cause of death was complications from ketamine following forcible restraint by police. McClain, a Black massage therapist who was living in Aurora, died a few days after his violent encounter with law enforcement and a high dose of ketamine given by paramedics on the scene."

Here's the problem:

"He was suspected of committing no crime when he was walking home from a convenience store late on a Saturday night, listening to music and carrying a bag of iced teas. Officers forcibly detained him after getting a call on a suspicious person."

No probable cause.   None.  Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Three officers and two paramedics were charged criminally in his death. Roedema, who was also on the scene with Woodyard, was convicted of criminally negligent homicide last month and another, Jason Rosenblatt, was acquitted of all crimes. The paramedics’ trial is expected to start later this month. Woodyard’s contact with McClain that evening was shorter and more limited than Roedema and Rosenblatt, who were also on the scene almost from the beginning and stayed with McClain after he was handcuffed. In hours of body-worn camera shown to jurors, Woodyard can be seen leaving the scene at several points and walking around, not paying attention to what was happening with McClain, who was struggling on the ground, detained."

Clearly, didn't give a f--k.

"Prosecutors have called this abandonment and said it was clearly reckless negligence in caring for a person who was medically deteriorating after being given the carotid hold, which was a last-resort use of force and is now banned in Colorado. Aurora’s protocols required officers to call for medical help after a hold, check the suspect for coherence and, witnesses testified, put a person who received the hold in the recovery position. Defense attorneys maintained the actions Woodyard took right after he administered the carotid hold, which was an approved use of force at the time, exonerated him from any recklessness. That included removing McClain’s mask after he heard him complain that he couldn’t breathe and was throwing up and placing him in the recovery position, as required. They said he left the scene because he was emotional and needed to step away and talk to his supervisor. He trusted officers Roedema and Rosenblatt were going to take care of McClain."

What a crock of shit.  Had he been as 'emotional' as claimed prior to imposing the carotid hold, his murdered victim would be alive today.

It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Appalling disgrace to the profession.  NBC News reports:

"A Colorado police officer was arrested Monday on charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl while on duty. Dylan Miller, 28, a patrol officer who joined the Loveland Police Department in May 2022, was booked into the Larimer County Jail and charged with first-degree kidnapping, sexual assault on a child from someone in a position of trust, unlawful sexual conduct by a peace officer and official oppression, authorities said. He has been fired from the department. “People who victimize children deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anyone who uses their badge to do so is a disgrace to this profession and should be rooted out,” Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran said during a news conference Monday announcing Miller’s termination."

Here's allegedly what went down:

"Investigators said Miller first met the 15-year-old female victim and other people during a July traffic stop. Several days later, he allegedly contacted the victim and another person while at a Loveland park after hours, according to Larimer County Sheriff’s Office press release. Miller told the second person to leave and asked the victim to walk with him to a secluded area away from the street where the alleged sexual assault occurred, police said. Officials said the Loveland Police Department received a report about the alleged assault from the victim and her family in October and asked the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office to investigate to avoid a conflict of interest, the press release said. After conducting interviews and gathering digital evidence, investigators identified Miller as a suspect, according to the press release. “I spent years investigating crimes against children. These are difficult cases for everyone, most of all for victims and their families,” said Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen in a statement. NBC News has reached out to Miller for comment by phone Tuesday but was unable to reach him."

Surprised?

"Miller previously worked for the Durango Police Department between September 2020 and May 2022. Durango Police Chief Bob Brammer told NBC News affiliate KUSA in Denver that his department reviewed Miller’s files and records but couldn’t find any similar allegations. “If new information comes our way, we will certainly investigate it to the end,” Brammer told the station. Investigators remain concerned more victims may exist."

Louisiana police chief arrested.  NBC News(AP) reports:

"A North Louisiana police chief is facing charges over accusations he used excessive force during an arrest last December, Louisiana State Police said. Homer Police Chief Elvan “Van” McDaniel, 53, was arrested Monday on charges of aggravated battery and malfeasance in office after state police raided his home in Homer and the town’s police department, a state police news release said. McDaniel was later released after posting $200,000 bond, KTBS-TV reported. It was unknown if McDaniel has an attorney who could speak on his behalf. State police said the Claiborne Parish District Attorney’s Office asked the agency to review body camera footage from a Dec. 5 , 2022, arrest by Homer Police officers and McDaniel in the town. The suspect was arrested on multiple charges, including resisting arrest. “The investigation rendered that HPD Chief McDaniel used excessive force by deploying a taser multiple times on a non-combative subject, who was handcuffed behind his back and lying on the ground,” state police said."

Couldn't be how the Chief gets his cookies off, could it?

"As a result of the investigation, Louisiana State Police obtained an arrest warrant for McDaniel and he was taken into custody without incident, the agency said. It added more arrests are possible. State police did not identify the man who was shocked. However, KTBS-TV reported in February that Gregory Moak, of Athens — a village in Claiborne Parish — filed a federal lawsuit alleging McDaniel and three other officers used excessive force during his arrest in December. The lawsuit is pending. As the investigation continues, the town is without its police force. State police said Homer police officers will be unable to answer calls for service so Claiborne Parish sheriff’s deputies, with help from state troopers, will respond to any calls by residents."

Adding to the fiasco?  Get this:

"McDaniel recently ran for sheriff, finishing third behind the incumbent, Sheriff Sam Dowies, and retired trooper Michael Allen. McDaniel has since endorsed Allen in the Nov. 18 runoff. McDaniel is in his second term as police chief, having been the first Black person elected to the position. His current term is scheduled to end on Dec. 31, 2026."

The following, if true as reported, is horrific.  Speaks volumes vis a vis the Israeli aggressor.  Three quarters of a century of oppression of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli aggressor that has no intention of accepting a two-state solution to this ongoing crisis.

NBC News reports:

"Amid mounting reports of a wave of violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinian residents of the occupied West Bank, one incident has caused particular alarm. Five days after Hamas’ terrorist attack on Oct. 7, Mohamad Mattar says, he and two other Palestinians in the West Bank were detained by a group of Israeli troops and settlers wearing military uniforms. Mattar, 46, a social and humanitarian worker for the Palestinian Authority, which governs parts of the West Bank, told NBC News that he and his companions were taken to a sheep barn near their village of Wadi al-Seeq, east of Ramallah. There, they were stripped to their underwear, bound, photographed and urinated on, he said. One of the unidentified attackers tried to sexually assault him with a stick, Mattar continued, and when he fought back, the Israeli man beat him for 10 minutes — until the stick broke in three places. “He was telling me that he is going to kill me, he is going to make my kids hungry,” Mattar said of one of his assailants. “He poured cold water on my body and made me roll over all the manure. Then he kept beating me up.” Three men stripped, bound and confined in an animal pen. In an image that circulated on social media, Mattar (right) and two other men are shown stripped, bound and confined in an animal pen.via social media. This firsthand account is part of a growing crisis in the West Bank, according to the United Nations, human rights groups and locals, who say that Israeli security forces and extremist settlers have been intimidating, abusing and killing Palestinians there. The hard-right coalition government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been handing out assault rifles to the settlers and, according to the U.N., allowing them to harass and kill with impunity."

Expect better of an Israeli aggressor that has turned hard right in its ideology?  That seems to get its cookies off abusing and murdering innocent Palestinian civilians?

"When NBC News asked the Israel Defense Forces about the incident involving Mattar, the IDF said in a statement that it had gotten reports of “a number of suspicious individuals.” “The forces apprehended and searched the suspects, who were in possession of a knife and an ax,” the IDF said. Mattar said he had a kitchen knife in his car but wasn’t going to use it to hurt anyone. Palestinians have in recent years used knives to carry out attacks, including stabbing Israeli security forces and civilians at checkpoints and other public places. The IDF also said that “the manner in which the arrest was carried out, and the conduct of the force in the field, was contrary to the standards expected of soldiers and commanders in the IDF,” and that it had opened an investigation and dismissed the commander of the unit that led the arrest."

The abuse and murder of innocent Palestinian civilians by the Israeli aggressor has been a serious problem since at least the 1967 war.

"Attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian residents of the West Bank were a problem before Oct. 7. But the U.N. and the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem both say the Hamas massacre and subsequent Israeli bombardment of Gaza has given settlers and Israeli authorities cover to increase those assaults. “It’s definitely escalated very much in the past few weeks,” B’Tselem spokesperson Dror Sadot said. “Because of the war, the settlers are exploiting this — the fact that no one’s looking at them.”

Needs to change.  Biden by his gutless silence regarding this issue reinforces, exacerbates, and encourages ongoing Israeli war crimes.

"Israel rejects this characterization, saying that most of the recent Palestinian deaths in the West Bank were the result of counterterrorism efforts aimed at rooting out members of Hamas and other militant groups. But it does not deny the incident Mattar described."

Sadly, the Israeli aggressor continues to hypocritically talk out both sides its ass.  Forfeited all credibility for the sake of political expediency.

"In the month since Hamas’ attack, more than 2,000 Palestinians have been arrested from their homes, at checkpoints and during other encounters across the West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs. In total, there are around 5,000 Palestinians being held in Israeli prisons on “security grounds,” including around 150 children, figures from B’Tselem suggest. The numbers given by Israeli authorities have generally been lower. On Thursday, the IDF said it had “apprehended 1,200 suspects,” 742 of whom it said were members of Hamas. NBC News contacted the IDF on Saturday for an update but did not receive one in time for publication. According to the U.N., at least 132 Palestinians, including 41 children, have been killed by security forces and settlers in the West Bank in the past four weeks. Last year, 158 Palestinians were killed there, and 199 before Oct. 7 this year, U.N. data suggests — the highest level of violence in the West Bank in two decades."

The photographs certainly look authentic.  Should be investigated for their authenticity:

"Mohamad Mattar shows bruises on his legs, arm and torso that he said are the result of a beating from Israeli soldiers and settlers in the occupied West Bank.

The following also demands investigation:

"Mattar said the dismissal of a commanding officer is not sufficient justice for what his trio went through. He likened the experience to the treatment at Abu Ghraib, the Iraqi prison where detainees were physically and sexually assaulted by American forces following the 2003 United States-led invasion of that country. Mattar wants to see the officer jailed. He said that even as his attacker “was beating me, I was telling him I am against the war between us” and “against Hamas.” But the assailant was not receptive, Mattar continued: “He said, ‘You are all Arabs, all s---, not only Hamas. We want to kill you and expel you from here.” “Their insults are part of their sadism,” Mattar said. “Some of the settlers perceive Arabs as a sublevel in the world.”

So does Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, no more than a clueless dictator.

"He warned that the subjugation of Palestinians in the West Bank could backfire on Israel — a sentiment President Joe Biden similarly alluded to when he said last week that the settler violence was “pouring gasoline” on tensions in the region. Such treatment raises the risk of another cycle of violence, Mattar said, in an area seemingly doomed to repeated conflagrations. “They are applying pressure on us like a balloon, which keeps pressuring until it explodes,” he said. “If this oppression persists in the West Bank, and as people get more used to the attacks on Gaza, an explosion will happen in the West bank and Jerusalem.”

CBS News reports:

"Jerusalem — Angry protesters paid Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a home visit over the weekend, chanting, "jail now!" They were echoing rising cries from across the country for the veteran Israeli leader to step down. A new poll by an Israeli news station found that 76% of respondents want Netanyahu to resign. Many blame him for the security failures behind Hamas' Oct. 7 terror rampage across southern Israel."

Without a two-state solution, this ongoing catastrophe the last 75 years will continue indefinitely.

"He must resign!" shouted Moshe Radman outside Netanyahu's home over the weekend. Radman is one of the Israelis who's been leading the protests against the country's leader. Asked by CBS News what motivated him, he said it was Netanyahu "lying again and again and again."

Expect better of an out of control autocrat?

"A leader needs to think 100% about our soldiers and our country and 0% about himself," he said. "This is for sure not Netanyahu."

Truly expect better of a dictator?

"Even before the Hamas attack, anger at the veteran Israeli politician was snowballing — over his move to strike down the Israeli Supreme Court's independence this year, over corruption charges he's still battling that date back to 2016, and for billing himself as "mister security" in campaign videos. In one campaign ad from 2015, he said Israelis would head to the polls to "choose who will take care of our children." More than three dozen of those children are believed to be among the 241 people Israel says were taken hostage by Hamas. The Oct. 7 terror attack was Israel's biggest security failure in decades, and the prime minister has not apologized or taken any responsibility for the apparent lapses behind it."

This fiasco dates back 75 years.  At the very least, due to the lack of a two-state solution, abuse and murder of innocent Palestinian civilians.

"He thinks about 50 years ahead of time," Tal Schneider, a political correspondent for The Times of Israel, told CBS News. "He doesn't want to have anything on record saying he has responsibility for anything." Schneider said a loyal cult of support has kept Netanyahu in power — "a base of loyalists," she said, in addition to his own political savvy. "Netanyahu as a prime minister was compared to President Trump," she said. "Netanyahu is much more sophisticated."

No shit.  -- To say the least.  LOL.

"But given the most recent polling, it's unclear if Netanyahu's political career will survive the next time Israelis are asked to elect a leader. "Enough with it," protest leader Radman told CBS News. "Our country deserves better. Our people deserve better."

No question.

NPR reports:

"On Monday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza reported more than 10,000 people killed — most of them women and children — in the besieged territory. In the West Bank, 155 people have been killed since Oct. 7, the health ministry says."

Reportedly, sadly, two-thirds of the 10,000 killed by the Israelis were women and children.  War crimes.

"There have been more than 100 attacks on health care facilities according to several humanitarian groups, including the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA."

War crimes.

"The groups also reported 88 workers with UNRWA have been killed since Oct. 7, "the highest number of United Nations fatalities ever recorded in a single conflict."

War crimes.  Perpetrated by the Israelis.

"This all started nearly one month ago, on Oct. 7, when Hamas attacked several communities in Israel, killing 1,400 people and kidnapping around 240 people."

Doesn't excuse the war crimes perpetrated by the Israelis in the ongoing conflict.  -- Not to neglect to mention all those committed by the Israelis in the last 75 years.
"
"Israeli forces launched an intense response that included a bombardment on Gaza from the air and ground invasion, with the ultimate goal of eliminating Hamas."

Reportedly, sadly, two-thirds of the 10,000 killed by the Israelis were women and children.

War crimes.

The disparity in the casualty figures is stunning, speaks volumes.  Hamas killed 1,400 Israelis Oct. 7:

"More than 340 Israeli soldiers have died since the Oct. 7 attacks, Israel said."

Get this:

"Humanitarian groups like the UNRWA continue to plead for the release of hostages and for each party to agree to a cease-fire. "We need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It's been 30 days. Enough is enough. This must stop now," the aid groups said. On Sunday, Israeli forces reached the coast of Gaza, splitting the besieged area in half and essentially cutting off the north from the south, Israel's military said. "In the last 12 hours, the soldiers of the division struck around 50 targets, including combat zones, operational residences, outposts, military positions and underground infrastructure, and eliminated terrorists in close-quarter combat," the military said. Phone, 4G cellular networks as well as internet services were cut off in Gaza for several hours. By Monday morning local time, the networks appeared to have been at least partially restored. Israeli bombs hit refugee camps. One attack on the Maghazi refugee camp early Sunday killed at least 33 people and wounded dozens, health officials in the region said. The Rafah border crossing was reopened Monday for foreign passport holders whose names appeared on the approval list, according to a statement by the General Authority for Crossings and Borders, which is run by the Hamas government in Gaza. Individuals whose names don't appear on the list will not be allowed to leave Gaza. As fighting around Gaza City continues, many Palestinians are trying to head south as Israel's military continues to urge civilians to do. On Sunday, for the second day in a row, Israel's military announced another window for civilians in the north of Gaza to travel south. A day earlier, the military also allowed passage for a few hours, but people trying to flee found the roads impassable. Israel has accused Hamas of firing on Israeli troops who were attempting to secure the route for civilian passage. The United Nations estimates that of the roughly 300,000 people trapped in northern Gaza, only 2,000 were able to move south this weekend, according to monitors on the ground."

Suffering remains unabated:

"The ones that have managed to flee have mostly traveled by foot for miles — adults carrying babies or pushing wheelchairs with the elderly, and holding the hands of children lugging bags full of whatever belongings they could grab. Some waved white pieces of cloth to show they were civilians. They walked by piles of rubble, looking exhausted, as shells exploded in the distance. NPR spoke with a group traveling in Gaza who said they had to walk past dead bodies rotting in the street as bombs dropped in the distance. They declined to provide their names over security concerns."

Quite understandable.

"U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken finished a busy weekend tour of the Middle East with a stop in Turkey Monday morning. On Sunday, he made an unannounced visit to Iraq and met with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Baghdad for more than an hour. Blinken also made trips to Israel and Jordan and had a sit-down with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah in the West Bank. Blinken's stop in Turkey comes as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly criticized Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this weekend. Blinken met with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss, among other things, the war and the need to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza, he told the media. Despite this whirlwind visit, Blinken's efforts yielded little obvious progress on cease-fire talks or increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza. Blinken said he remained optimistic and told the media, "We're working on all of this almost every single minute." CIA Director William Burns is reportedly visiting Israel Monday, as well."

Trump at his best?  CBS News reports:

"Former President Donald Trump is on the stand in a New York courtroom Monday to testify in the fraud trial that could determine the fate of his business empire. His early testimony was marked by Trump repeatedly straying from the questions posed by a lawyer from New York Attorney General Letitia James' office. He also stood by various property valuations at the center of the case, defending financial statements that other co-defendants have sought to distance themselves from."

Fascinating, isn't it?

"Sworn in and under oath, Trump took the opportunity to repeatedly lash out at the New York Judge Arthur Engoron, who is seated four feet to his right. Engoron is overseeing the civil case and will decide the outcome of the bench trial himself. "I'm sure the judge will rule against me, because he always rules against me," Trump said at one point."

Think so?  Couldn't be paranoid, could he?

"As Trump repeatedly gave long-winded answers to questions about the valuations of various Trump Organization properties, Engoron's patience wore thin. Christopher Kise, one of Trump's attorneys, encouraged Engoron to allow Trump to give answers in his own way. "With this witness, it's far more efficient to listen and take it all in," Kise said, prompting laughter from Kevin Wallace, an attorney for the state who led the questioning. Engoron's voice rose as his anger seemed to boil over, and his microphone struggled to handle the sudden change in volume. "No, I'm not here to hear what he has to say," Engoron said, his voice rising. "I'm here to hear him answer questions. Sit down!"

... Can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit?

"Engoron said he was considering drawing negative conclusions from Trump's testimony. "We got another speech. I beseech you to control him if you can. If you can't, I will. I will excuse him and draw every negative inference that I can," Engoron said. The trial stems from a $250 million civil lawsuit filed by James' office accusing Trump, his two oldest sons, the Trump Organization and several executives of a yearslong fraud scheme. The state alleges Trump and his co-defendants inflated the value of the company's assets and Trump's personal wealth to obtain better terms on loans and insurance. They have denied wrongdoing, and Trump has repeatedly accused James of pursuing him for political reasons. The judge has not allowed TV cameras to film the trial, meaning the former president's questioning is not being live-streamed."

Likely a mistake on the part of the Judge.  Would have been far better to have let the public witness this buffoon in all his glory.

"Trump arrived shortly before 10 a.m. and made brief remarks before entering the courtroom, reiterating his criticism of the trial. "It's a terrible, terrible thing. These are political operatives that I'm going to be dealing with right now," Trump said. "It's a very sad situation for our country." Outside the courtroom, James predicted Trump would "engage in name-calling, taunts and race-baiting," but said, "At the end of the day, the only thing that matters are the facts and the numbers, and numbers, my friend, don't lie."

No question.

"Trump, on the stand, would later call James "a political hack."

Need to look in the mirror, sir.

"This is a political witch hunt and I think she should be ashamed of herself," Trump said, as James watched from the gallery."

It is you, sir, that should be ashamed of yourself.  You've disgraced yourself and the office of the presidency.

"Trump is accused in the civil suit of being the primary beneficiary of a scheme to fraudulently portray his wealth as far greater than it is, and his properties as far more valuable, in order to get undeservedly favorable loan and insurance terms. The judge in the case has already found Trump, his two adult sons and their company liable for fraud, determining that the scheme led to hundreds of millions in unearned profits. The trial is continuing over other allegations, including falsification of business records, conspiracy and insurance fraud, as well as disgorgement — the exact amount of "ill-gotten gains" the Trumps must pay the state. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump both testified in the case last week, and Ivanka Trump is scheduled to take the stand on Wednesday. She had originally been named in the lawsuit as well, but the claims against her were thrown out on appeal due to the statute of limitations. Though Monday was Trump's first testimony related to fraud during the trial, it was not his first time in the courtroom nor his first time on the stand. The last time Trump was in the room, on Oct. 25, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered him to the stand to determine if Trump had violated a limited gag order in the case earlier in the day, when Trump appeared to reference the judge's clerk while talking to the press. Trump and his company have for more than a year blamed their former outside accountants, Mazars USA, for any inaccuracies in their statements of financial condition, essentially a snapshot of Trump's wealth. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump reiterated that defense in testimony last week, saying they "trusted" internal and external accounting teams. But their former Mazars accountant testified in October that his firm merely compiled reams of financial information provided to them by the Trumps and their company."

Couldn't be the Trumps and their company are congenital liars, could it?

"The lawsuit is seeking $250 million and sanctions designed to limit the Trumps' ability to do business in New York, including permanently barring Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump from serving as an officer or director in any business in the state."

The Washington Post reports:

"Donald Trump’s many legal problems led to a historic scene Monday: a former president testifying under oath in his own civil fraud trial in New York. New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) is suing Trump and others, including his two adult sons, seeking $250 million. The judge in the case has already found that Trump committed fraud by intentionally overvaluing his assets to secure more favorable financial terms. The judge has also moved to cancel Trump’s business certifications in the state. The trial is to determine any additional actions the judge might take and what penalties Trump and the others could face. It comes on top of other lawsuits Trump has faced, as well as four criminal indictments — two in federal court, one in New York and one in Georgia. Below are some early takeaways from Trump’s testimony.

"1. Trump’s wild testimony is not really about this trial. Shortly after he took the stand, the former president made clear that his performance was less about appealing to the judge who will decide his fate and more about politics, future court cases and potentially an appeal. Trump began by delivering a series of broadsides against both the court and the prosecution. “I’m sure the judge will rule against me, because he always rules against me,” he said of New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron, who previously found Trump liable for fraud and has fined Trump twice for attacking his law clerk. Trump told the judge he knew “nothing about me,” before referring to James: “You believe this political hack back there.” Trump ridiculed the prosecution’s case against him as being part of the purported “weaponization” of the government and courts. He repeatedly tried to invoke defenses that the judge had already decided weren’t valid, including the “worthless clause” defense. He called the trial “very unfair” and a “crazy trial.” He was repeatedly admonished for delivering political talking points rather than answering questions."

Clearly, Trump has no defense.  Otherwise, he would be making it.  He's not.

"Early on, the judge implored Trump’s lawyers to control their client and even threatened to take action if Trump didn’t play by the rules. He at one point indicated he might just excuse Trump as a witness and “draw every negative inference that I can” from the testimony — the idea being he would assume Trump isn’t really defending himself because he can’t. Indeed, Trump seemed to be effectively throwing in the towel on mounting a real defense of himself and instead attempting to turn the focus of the proceedings on the others. (Since this is a bench trial, there is no jury, giving Engoron significant power.)"

All the more reason Trump should have mounted a defense.  Where were his attorneys?  If they couldn't control him, they should have resigned in protest.  Stood tall.

"Trump’s campaign at one point highlighted an out-of-context quote in which Engoron said he wasn’t there to hear what Trump had to say. One way to read that is that Trump really thinks such proceedings are stacked against him. Another is that he recognizes he doesn’t really have great defenses — in this and perhaps in other cases — and he’s going to revert to a strategy of making life hell for those scrutinizing him, and continue to build a sense of persecution in his base."

Saddest of all?  There are well-educated, highly experienced Trump supporters who have bought his bullshit and lies despite the reality Trump is demonstrably no more than a congenital liar.

“This is not a political rally,” Engoron said at one point while admonishing Trump. But to Trump, all of these cases are."

That's right.  Trump clearly has no defense.

"2. Trump under oath was just Trump. Yet again, putting Trump under oath was no match for his propensity for hyperbole and falsehoods."

Expect better of a congenital liar?

"He continued to claim that his Mar-a-Lago property was worth between $1 billion and $1.5 billion. Experts find that claim highly dubious, and the county values it in the tens of millions. James’s office has also produced evidence calling into question Trump’s claim that the property is worth so much because it can be treated as “a large, unrestricted residential plot of land that could be valued on a per-acre basis and sold off in that fashion.” (Trump also accused Engoron of valuing the property at just $18 million; in fact, Engoron merely cited an appraisal mentioning that amount.) Trump repeatedly claimed that his properties were actually undervalued, saying, “The overall value is billions of dollars more than is in these statements, so whenever the bank gets them the bank is seeing a conservative statement.” Even the high estimates of Trump’s net worth are in the single-digit billions, meaning Trump was trying to inflate his wealth significantly — at a trial that was about his fraudulent inflation of his wealth. Trump tried to claim that there was effectively no victim here: “There was no loss of money. [The banks] made a lot of money, and everyone is trying to figure out why you’re doing it.” But a prosecution witness last week testified that Trump would have paid much higher interests rates if he hadn’t exaggerated his wealth, saving Trump and costing the banks about $168 million — money James has labeled ill-gotten gains."

Nothing quite like the truth to deflate the bullshit of a congenital liar who's fraudulently lined his pockets.

Along these lines, get this:

"He also distanced himself from his New York City penthouse having previously been valued as if it had 30,000 square feet, when in fact it was later acknowledged to have only 10,996. “They took 10,000 feet per floor, and they went times three,” he said, according to legal correspondent Adam Klasfeld. “But they didn’t take out elevator shafts and different things.” He added: “I thought the apartment was overvalued, but I never really looked at it.” In fact, Trump himself had been using such numbers publicly, and they were changed after a 2017 Forbes exposé. This was actually the second time Trump has taken the stand in this trial. In his first, brief appearance, he claimed comments he made didn’t violate a gag order because they weren’t about Engoron’s clerk. Engoron found that Trump’s explanation was “not credible.”

It's not.  Nowhere near.

"3. Trump is setting the tone for his other prosecutions. Regardless of what happens in this case or others, the scenes Monday surely crystallized Trump’s efforts — and success — in bulldozing the legal process. Trump effectively turned a courtroom into a kind of circus that would most likely not be permitted if he didn’t have a political movement behind him and if this were a trial featuring a jury he could influence."

Clearly, the judge has failed to date to hold Trump accountable.

"The testimony featured a dynamic similar to what took place in the back-and-forth over gag orders: Trump seemingly daring judges by saying things that wouldn’t be tolerated from other defendants, and the judge threatening to do something about it but otherwise seeming to bend over backward to avoid taking severe action."

Gutless on the part of the judge.  The judge seems to have forgotten no one in a democratic republic is above the law.

"Despite Engoron’s repeatedly admonishing Trump and urging his lawyers to get him under control, the judge mostly just tried to steer Trump while occasionally striking statements he deemed irrelevant. Engoron at one point said he would defer to the attorney general’s office on whether it wanted to make more of an issue of Trump speechifying and not directly answering questions. Part of what Trump accomplished, as noted, was setting a tone for his other cases, including the criminal ones. Nothing will come easy when you go after Trump."

That's because his bullshit is gutlessly tolerated.  The bastard is not held accountable.

"And while it seems unlikely Trump would ever testify in his criminal cases, it’s become clear that this kind of thing can and will happen even without Trump on the stand. Late last week, the trial devolved into another scene when Trump’s lawyers tried to go after Engoron’s clerk, despite their client having been sanctioned for that."

No shit.  LOL.  That's certainly failure of the judge to hold the bastard accountable as he would Joe Blow up the block.

"You can bet the judges in the other cases are taking note of what’s happening in New York — and trying to avoid a repeat in their courtrooms."

The solution to this problem is to jail the son of a bitch when he pulls this shit.

"4. Letitia James returned Trump’s taunts. Trump’s other main foil Monday, besides Engoron, was James. And the attorney general wasn’t exactly a shrinking violet. James delivered a statement before Trump’s testimony noting that he would attack her and the process but that “the only thing that matters is the facts and the numbers. And numbers, my friends, don’t lie.” During his testimony, Trump said that James didn’t “know what 40 Wall Street” — one of his properties — was. James reportedly laughed at the statement in the courtroom. Her office later tweeted the remark while adding: “Don’t tell, I can see it from my office window.”

LOL.  To her credit, she certainly doesn't take any shit from the bastard.

"Nor were the lawyers prosecuting the case for James afraid to mix it up. At one point, Trump delivered an answer about how the disclaimer clause in his financial statements went on “forever.” “That clause isn’t the only thing that goes on forever,” James’s counsel, Kevin Wallace, quipped in response. James also delivered a statement after Trump’s testimony, criticizing him for trying to make a scene. “Mr. Trump obviously can engage in all of these distractions, and that is exactly what he did,” James said, adding that Trump also engaged in name-calling. “But I will not be bullied. I will not be harassed. This case will go on.”

Sadly, the judge gutlessly allowed Trump's shit to continue.  Think that'll change?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Abortion rights supporters win big.  NBC News reports:

"Abortion rights keep winning and winning at the ballot box — and on Tuesday, winning some more. Nearly 17 months after the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade, the hot streak enjoyed by candidates and ballot measures backing abortion rights continued in a collection of states in very different places across the political spectrum. In Ohio, the state constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights won by double digits, a year after Republicans swept the statewide offices that were up in the midterm elections. In Kentucky, Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear won re-election after having made support of abortion rights a key message of his campaign in the deep red state. And in Virginia, Democrats kept their majority in the state Senate and flipped the state House — a substantive rebuke of Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who’d put a 15-week abortion ban at the center of his campaign to help the GOP win full control of government in what has become a blue-leaning state over the last decade. The results are yet more evidence that heading into 2024, abortion rights remain a major political force for Democrats and a vulnerability for Republicans across the country, political strategists from both major parties said. “Democrats have a message on abortion that’s more salient than Republicans’,” Republican strategist Alex Conant said. “And Republicans need to figure out a way to talk about abortion that can win independent voters in the center.” Democratic strategist Jesse Ferguson said it's not "a question of Republicans retooling their message or finding a new slogan or trying to sell people on something that people don’t want." “We now have the 2022 midterms, the Wisconsin Supreme Court race, the other ballot measures, Kansas and tonight’s results,” Ferguson continued, rattling off the list of victories by abortion-rights supporters since Roe was overturned. “This is not some referendum on the status quo. This is people showing they’re worried about the consequences that come from extremism … in red states like Kentucky, purple states in Virginia and everything in between."

The Republican nazis on the U.S. Supreme Court are finally getting theirs.  Indeed, tough shit.  Doesn't your heart bleed for the fascist bastards?  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
