Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable. Time to step up.  Now.

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Three hundred eighty four weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Hey, Sheriff?  Reportedly, promote Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 to Sergeant?  If true, yet another classic example of survival of the unfittest in the law enforcement community.  Readers are reminded this is the very same idiot, clueless asshole responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to the Pace Arrow as reported in each edition of this publication.  Far more to Kingsland property owner James Berardi in a property dispute.  -- A dispute engineered by Johnny Greene, apparently financed by a bribe to the former County Attorney, current District Attorney, and Sheriff.  A federal investigation of Llano County government and the aforementioned allegedly corrupt and abusive bastards in this ongoing fiasco is desperately needed.  Tim Chorney.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Three hundred eighty four weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Three hundred eighty four weeks.  Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Think law enforcement will ever think creatively?  Out of the box?  NBC News reports:

"At least 75 local law enforcement officers are being placed on leave in Pittsburgh following an hourslong standoff with a man who shot at sheriff's deputies when they went to serve an eviction notice. Deputies went to serve the notice in the city’s Garfield neighborhood when the man “turned violent and began shooting,” the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. The suspect, William Hardison Sr., was found dead inside the residence after gunfire was exchanged intermittently for roughly six-and-a-half hours. Mike Manko, spokesman for the sheriff's office, confirmed in an email to NBC News that 16 deputies were placed on administrative leave following the incident. "The sheriff has reached out to each of the deputies personally and they will all go through a psych eval next week before being cleared to come back to work," Manko said. A dozen more Allegheny County Police officers were also placed on administrative leave. All 12 of the officers fired their weapons, a department spokesperson confirmed, and the leave is standard protocol for the department. Another 47 Pittsburgh Police Department officers who were involved in incident are also on leave, the department confirmed, as part of its policy. The leave may vary between three to five days. Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus said he could not count the number of gunfire “volleys” between the suspect and officers. “I mean, he had a lot of ammunition in that house, and certainly ... all of us were strapped, you know, with ammunition, and we were calling for additional ammunition,” Kraus said. “Like I said, we tried to give him every opportunity to come out.”

Why would he do that when you're exchanging gunfire with him?  Why didn't you take up defensive positions and wait him out?  He may have ultimately come out shooting and you may have had to kill him anyway, -- but that would have truly been giving him "every opportunity to come out.”
Wake up.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Think there isn't a serious problem of stress in the law enforcement community?  ... Not to neglect to mention or overlook former law enforcement officers.  NBC News reports:

"The man who opened fire inside a famed Orange County biker bar, leaving four dead, was a retired police officer locked in lengthy divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, whom he wounded in the shooting. The bloodshed unfolded Wednesday night at Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon, about 50 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, officials said. The suspected gunman, identified as 59-year-old John Snowling, was one of the four people killed. Snowling was a sergeant with the Ventura Police Department and worked there until his retirement in 2014, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said. The Ventura Police Department confirmed that Snowling worked in the oceanside town from July of 1986 through February of 2014. A friend of Snowling's wife, who was with her at the bar on Wednesday night, said the spouse had filed for divorce against the shooter. Ventura County Superior Court records show the divorce proceedings started on Dec. 21, with the matter still ongoing."

Sad, isn't it?  Innocent people lost their lives for nothing.

"Bar patron Betty Fruichantie said she and the suspected shooter's wife didn't initially move when the shots were fired. "We thought, I thought it was just firecrackers," Fruichantie told NBC Los Angeles. "She didn't say anything. People were getting shot. People were getting shot." The shooter's wife "was injured in the shooting and is not deceased," according to an Orange County Sheriff's Department statement on Thursday. Attorneys for the divorcing pair could not be immediately reached for comment on Thursday. Snowling had a base salary of $98,748 in 2013 with total pay of $127,353 in his final full year of work, according to a data base of California public employee compensation records. John Snowling was among eight children of U.S. Navy veteran George Louis "Buddy" Snowling, who died in early 2020. The retired police officer and his wife were the man's primary caregivers in his final month of life, according to a widely circulated obituary on the elder Snowling."

Sad, isn't it?

"The Ventura Police Department pledged to assist the Orange County sheriff’s deputies in the ongoing shooting probe. “Our hearts weigh heavy with the distressing incident at Cook’s Corner,” Chief Darin Schindler said in statement. “Our deepest condolences are with the families of the victims, the survivors, add the Orange County deputies who swiftly responded to the scene. This incident deeply affects us all.” Former Sgt. Snowling also served as president of the union and worked a variety of duties for VPD including patrol, traffic and homeless outreach. "He just had very normal career, nothing really else to report," Ventura police Cmdr. Sarah Heard said."

Clearly, the level of stress was extremely high.  We need to do far, far better in reducing the level of stress in the law enforcement community leading to all these murders perpetrated by officers and former officers.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

A democratic republic cannot survive without good law enforcement.  NBC News reports:

"A small city in Minnesota approved a contract just hours before it was to be left with no law enforcement following the resignation of its entire police department."

No serious problems in law enforcement?  None?  Wake up.

"The Goodhue City Council unanimously agreed Wednesday to a temporary contract with the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office to run from Thursday through the end of the year. Goodhue's entire police department put in their resignations earlier this month, and Wednesday was the department's final day. Narrowly avoiding having no policing, the city council's contract with the sheriff's office runs through Dec. 31, 2023. Mayor Ellen Anderson Buck commended Sheriff Marty Kelly for his work to ease the transition between departments. "I think the community is very excited for your presence here, and they've already noticed your presence so thank you," Anderson Buck said during Wednesday's council meeting. The contract costs the city a total of $43,548 for more than four months of services. It includes at least six hours of patrolling per day, according to the Star Tribune. Kelly confirmed to NBC News on Thursday that his department has begun working with the city, although the sheriff's office is also four staff members short. It is likely the county will contract with the council again for next year as the city attempts to restore its police department. "Staffing shortages and pay are the driving force in many small departments disbanding across the country and we are not immune in our county," Kelly said. "Many sheriff’s offices and police departments at this point are just trading officers and deputies and we are not gaining any ground." The sheriff noted that current law enforcement students cannot make up for expected retirements and that it ma[y] take years for the shortage to be resolved."

Compounding the problem?  All the corruption, abuse, and murders perpetrated by the jackbooted bastards in blue against innocent unarmed civilians all across this country.

"Former Goodhue Police Chief Josh Smith submitted his resignation on Aug. 9, with a full-time officer and five part-time employees resigning just two days later, the Associated Press reported. Smith discussed difficulties in hiring officers at a council meeting last month, blaming low pay as a reason he saw no applicants for open positions. He noted that he was trying to hire officers at $22 an hour while other small departments were at least $8 more. “There’s zero incentive to come out here to a small town — low pay, being on call, affecting your free time and everything else,” Smith said at the time. Anderson Buck told NBC affiliate KARE last week that she was blindsided by the resignations after the council had been working on the city budget to increase officer salaries. The council increased officer salaries by 5 percent and gave the chief a $13,000 raise at the beginning of the year, she said. “We knew we were on the low side and so we were trying very, very hard to bring those numbers up,” said Anderson Buck."

Clearly, you're not paying a livable wage.

Truly believe law enforcement is not out of control?  Wake up.  ABC News(AP) reports:

"A man fleeing a New York City drug bust crashed his motorcycle and died Wednesday after a police sergeant threw a plastic picnic cooler at him in an attempt to stop him."

Why wasn't the officer immediately fired?  Then, quickly prosecuted.  The public deserves no less.  Why all the foot-dragging?  These murderous jackbooted bastards in uniform delusionally believe they get to be judge, jury, and executioner.  Literally.

"The sergeant, Erik Duran, was suspended without pay following Eric Duprey's death in the University Heights section of the Bronx, police said. Surveillance video viewed by the Associated Press shows Duprey driving on a sidewalk toward a group of people who do not appear to be in uniform. As he approaches, the video shows, one of the people picks up a red object — the picnic cooler — and throws it at Duprey from close range, striking him in the head."

Murderous jackbooted bastard in blue.

"Duprey then loses control and is thrown toward a tree as the motorcycle veers into the street. The bike then smashes into a metal barricade before coming to rest against a parked car. New York Attorney General Letitia James' office, which has jurisdiction to probe deaths involving police, is investigating. The NYPD said it is cooperating. “The NYPD is committed to ensuring that there will be a full, thorough, and transparent investigation of this incident to determine the facts and to take the appropriate steps forward,” the department said in a statement."

Think so?  Believe it?

"A message seeking comment was left with Duran’s union."

Not possible to credibly defend the indefensible.

"In a preliminary report, police said the man lost control of his motorcycle, struck a parked vehicle and fell to the ground after Duran threw the cooler at him. The Daily News first reported the incident. Duprey, 30, had fled as plainclothes narcotics unit officers tried to arrest him on suspicion of selling drugs in what’s known as a “buy-and-bust” operation, according to police. He was pronounced dead minutes after the crash, police said."

Never, ever, never run from law enforcement.  The jackbooted bastards in blue take it as carte blanche to murder on the job.  How they get their cookies off.  ... Right, Sheriff?

"Duran joined the NYPD in 2010 and has been recognized by the department dozens of times for what it deems excellent and meritorious police service, according to a police personnel database."

Think so?  Believe it?  Wake up:

"Duran's disciplinary record includes a substantiated complaint last year for abusing his authority during a stop, according to the city's Civilian Complaint Review Board."

Why wasn't the son of a bitch fired and then prosecuted back then?  ... Right, Sheriff?

Trans man to sue abusers.  In follow-up to a case covered earlier in this publication and elsewhere, NBC News reports:

"A former California teacher has filed a claim for at least $10,000 in damages against Los Angeles County after a sheriff’s deputy threw him to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the head after a traffic stop. The incident, which took place in February, was caught on video. Emmett Brock, who is transgender, also alleged that when he was booked at a local jail, the employees asked to see his genitals. Brock, 24, was initially booked on three felony charges of mayhem, resisting arrest and obstruction, along with a misdemeanor charge of failure to obey a police officer. He lost his teaching job three days later due to the pending felony charges and has been unemployed since. Prosecutors later reduced the charges to two misdemeanors of resisting arrest and battery on an officer, according to arrest records. All of the charges were ultimately dismissed due to insufficient evidence during a hearing on Aug. 10, according to Venusse D. Navid, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Brock said he hopes the claim for damages, which his lawyer, Tom Beck, filed against the County of Los Angeles last month, will cover some of his lost wages. He said he also plans to file a lawsuit against the sheriff’s department, in part because Deputy Joseph Benza, who arrested him, has not faced disciplinary action. “I would really hope that the deputy is dismissed and punitive action is taken,” Brock said. “I just can’t feel like this is acceptable behavior on the deputy’s part — to assault another person over hurt feelings.”

Readers will recall:

"Brock told NBC News last month that he was on his way home from his teaching job in February when he passed a deputy having what appeared to be a heated conversation with a woman on the side of the road. Brock said he gave the deputy the middle finger as he drove by, and he alleged the deputy then started to follow him in a patrol car without turning on the vehicle’s sirens or lights."

Surprised?

"Brock said he called 911 to ask if he was being pulled over, and the operator said he was not if the car’s lights and sirens weren’t on. Brock pulled into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven, and Benza pulled his patrol vehicle behind Brock’s car, according to video from the store’s security cameras, which Brock’s attorney shared with NBC News. The video shows that Benza’s lights and sirens were not on when he pulled into the 7-Eleven. As Brock exited his car, Benza approached him and said, “I stopped you,” according to the video, and then Brock can be heard saying, “No, you didn’t,” with knowledge of his 911 call. Benza then grabbed Brock, threw him to the ground and then held Brock for three minutes while repeatedly punching him in the head, video shows."

How the jackbooted bastards in uniform get their cookies off.  ... Right, Sheriff?

“You’re going to kill me,” Brock is heard yelling. “You’re going to f---ing kill me. Help! Help! Help! I’m not resisting!” Benza said he pulled Brock over because an object hanging from his rearview mirror was obstructing his forward view, in violation of a California code, according to an arrest report Benza wrote that Beck provided to NBC News. Benza said that when Brock got out of his car, it appeared he was going to walk away. Brock’s “rejection of my traffic detention and his apparent intent to distance himself from his vehicle further raised safety concerns,” the deputy wrote. After throwing Brock to the ground, Benza said Brock “continuously tried to bite him” and that he feared Brock would punch him, so he punched Brock “approximately eight times in rapid succession.” Brock denied Benza’s allegation that he tried to bite him, and Beck, Brock’s attorney, noted that copies of Benza’s urgent care evaluation included in the arrest report show the physician’s assistant did not find evidence of any bite marks. Benza did not return a request for comment."

Clearly, the jackbooted bastard is a goddamned liar.

"The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it is aware of Brock’s claim for damages. “The Department is investigating the allegations brought forth by Mr. Brock,” the department said in an emailed statement. “All use of force incidents are unfortunate and we thoroughly review each one to evaluate if personnel followed appropriate protocol and training standards.”

Think so?  Believe it?

"After the February incident, Brock was booked at the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station, which is part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he told staff he is transgender. He said all of his identification documents are updated to say male, but staff still didn’t know which holding cell to place him in. He said they asked him questions like, “Do you have a penis?” and then a female employee brought him to a bathroom so she could see his genitals. Brock’s claim for damages alleges that Benza deprived him of his constitutional rights, illegally detained and assaulted him, among other allegations, and that the actions of employees at the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station invaded his privacy and discriminated against him on the basis of his gender identity. Beck said the lawsuit he plans to file will sue for additional damages. “He’s got the right to recover damages for his obvious emotional and physical injuries,” Beck said, adding that neither the claim for damages nor a lawsuit could result in punitive action against Benza. “None of the things that would be most satisfactory to myself and to Emmett — that is, to have some accountability against this deputy — and none of that’s achievable.” Brock said he hopes Sheriff Robert Luna, who has promised reform within the department, will remove Benza from his position."

Think that will happen with law enforcement as corrupt, abusive, and murderous as it remains all across this country?

“It just doesn’t seem like that’s someone that has the capacity to be working with the public if they have that explosive and dangerous of a temper,” he said."

No question.  Yet, these bastards in uniform remain protected and coddled.

"Brock added that he’s working on getting his substitute teacher permit renewed so he can get his job back. “It definitely is a weight off my shoulders, to not feel like this is about to come down on me at any moment, and it definitely feels like my life can finally start again,” Brock said. “There’s still this, ‘Life’s still not normal yet,’ but I think once I have my job back everything will finally feel at least somewhat normal for the first time in six months.”

Needless to say, this case will continue to be followed up.

No longer.

Justice delayed.  Egregiously.  ABC News(AP) reports:

"Three men who were convicted of crimes in the New York City borough of Queens in the 1990s and served long prison sentences have been exonerated after reexaminations of their cases found evidence of false confessions and other examples of malfeasance by police and prosecutors."

How does something like this happen and no one in law enforcement and/or the prosecutor's office courageously speaks up at the time?  Don't their oaths of office mean anything?

"The men were cleared of all charges in two separate cases on Thursday after Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz filed motions to vacate their convictions. “Fairness in the criminal justice system means we must re-evaluate cases when credible new evidence of actual innocence or wrongful conviction emerges,” Katz said in a news release. "Those who have served prison time for crimes they demonstrably did not commit deserve to have the slate wiped clean.”

Then, extremely well-compensated financially vis-a-vis a lawsuit.

"Armond McCloud, then 20, and Reginald Cameron, then 19, were arrested in 1994 in the fatal shooting of Kei Sunada, a 22-year-old Japanese immigrant, in his apartment building. They confessed after being question[ed] for several hours without attorneys. Both later recanted and said their confessions had been coerced." McCloud was convicted of murder in 1996 and sentenced to 25 years to life. He was released in January 2023. Cameron pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in exchange for the dismissal of murder charges. He served more than eight years in prison and was paroled in 2003."

Outrageous injustice in what has become a de facto fascist police-state.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Katz's conviction integrity unit began reinvestigating the case after an internal review found potential discrepancies between the facts of the crime and the confessions that were the basis for the convictions. As part of the investigation, a crime scene reconstruction expert visited the building where Sunada had been shot and determined that the shooting could only have occurred in the stairwell, where his body was found, and not in the hallway, as described in the men's confessions and in the police report. Katz noted additionally that the detective who obtained McCloud's and Cameron's confessions was connected to two notorious cases in which convictions were later vacated — the Central Park Five case and the murder of Utah tourist Brian Watkins in a Manhattan subway station."

How about that?

"The other case involved Earl Walters, who was 17 in 1992 when he was questioned about two carjackings in which women had been robbed and assaulted. Walters confessed to taking part in the carjackings after being interrogated for 16 hours without an attorney, Katz said."

How about that?

"Walters was arrested even though his statement included assertions that were at odds with the accounts of the victims and with other evidence in the case, investigators reexamining the case found."

How about that?

Additionally, three similar carjackings of women took place while Walters was in custody after his arrest, and three men were eventually charged with committing those crimes."

How about that?

"Walters was nonetheless convicted in March 1994 and served 20 years in prison. He was paroled in 2013."

Outrageous injustice all those years.

"Walters' attorneys from the Exoneration Initiative asked Katz's conviction integrity unit to review his case in 2020. A fingerprint analysis linked two of the men charged in the later series of carjackings to the crimes Walters had been convicted of, Katz said. No forensic evidence linked Walters to the carjackings."

How about that?

"All three men were in court on Thursday when Judge Michelle A. Johnson threw out the convictions, The New York Times reported. McCloud told the judge, “Ten thousand six hundred and seven days. That equates to 29 years and 15 days exactly. I’ll be the first to tell you that those 29 years were not kind to me.” Cameron said that although he is happy that his name has been cleared, “it doesn’t fix things.” He said the exoneration "doesn’t fix this scar on my face,” pointing to a four-inch line across his right cheek from a wound in prison."

Find an attorney and sue the living shit out of all the bastards involved in this outrageous travesty of justice.

"Johnson said the facts of Walters’s case were “particularly troubling" and that detectives and prosecutors ignored “glaring red flags” in the investigation. She apologized to Walters and said that the “carelessness and indifference” shown in his case “shocks the conscience.” Walters said that after the apology, “Now I can have, like, ground zero to start from.”

Jesus Christ.  We need to do far, far, far better than we're doing in law enforcement and criminal prosecutions.

Think the following is justice?  The Washington Post reports:

"A Massachusetts judge on Wednesday dismissed a criminal child sexual abuse case against former high-ranking Catholic cleric Theodore McCarrick, ruling that the former archbishop of Washington was incompetent to stand trial. McCarrick, 93, had been charged with assaulting a 16-year-old boy at a family wedding in 1974, the first charge that McCarrick faced in criminal court since a slew of sexual misconduct accusations surfaced in 2018. He faces a second criminal sexual abuse case, involving the same alleged victim, in Wisconsin. A call to McCarrick’s attorney on Wednesday was not immediately returned."

Surprised?

"The downfall of McCarrick, one of the U.S. church’s most visible and connected leaders, has had major ripple effects, including anger and mistrust by laypeople and new rules from the Vatican that make it slightly easier for bishops to be held accountable. Explosive reporting showed, too, that high-ranking leaders from the United States to Rome long knew of allegations of McCarrick’s misconduct with adults. It turned out priests and laypeople wrote to Vatican ambassadors, and several harassment lawsuits against McCarrick had been quietly settled."

Outrageous.  How is this justice?  How?

"Handling of sexual misconduct complaints about McCarrick reveals a lot about the Catholic Church."

Certainly, does.  No question.  The Church clearly places its own best interests ahead of its victims.

"Judge Paul McCallum of the Norfolk District Court in Dedham, Mass., dismissed the case in a morning hearing Wednesday after experts for the defense and prosecution agreed that McCarrick was unable to help with his own defense, said David Traub, a spokesman for the district attorney. “Under Massachusetts law, the case can’t go forward,” he said."

No justice.  An ongoing problem for decades.  No transparency that serves best interests of the Church at expense of its victims:

"McCarrick’s accuser, James Grein, a tennis teacher from Northern Virginia, submitted a statement to the court for Wednesday’s hearing that said the case was “to have provided a modest level of payback.” “I have trouble reconciling the concept that someone who is intelligent and articulate is also not competent to stand trial and answer for his actions,” he wrote. “I brought the charges in this matter, in the hope of finding justice in this court. Instead, McCarrick walks a free man and I am left with nothing.” Grein texted The Washington Post that he was crying with “high emotions.”

Outrageous lack of justice designed to protect best interests of the Church at expense of its victims.

"Mathew Schmalz, a professor of religious studies at Holy Cross and editor of the Journal of Global Catholicism, said the decision “will hurt victims, to be sure.” “But the question remains why warnings about McCarrick went unheeded for so long,” Schmalz said. “The investigation into McCarrick shouldn’t end with the prosecutors’ decision in this specific aspect of his case.” The next hearing in the Wisconsin case is scheduled for Sept. 18. This story will be updated."

Certainly, hope so.

In follow-up to the recent Marion County Record raid, The Washington Post reports:

"The phone conversation between the journalist and the town’s newly hired police chief quickly turned contentious. Tipsters had been telling Deb Gruver that Gideon Cody left the police department in Kansas City, Mo., under a cloud, supposedly threatened with demotion. So now she was asking him difficult questions on behalf of the weekly Marion County Record about the career change that had brought him to this prairie community of 1,900 people."

For damned good reason.

"The chief bristled."

Tough shit.  Certainly, the job of media to conduct thorough investigations of viable tips lodged against government officials including those at the very top of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

“If you’re going to be writing bad things about me,” they both recall him telling the reporter, “I might just not take the job.” He also advised Gruver that he had hired a lawyer."

For what?  If there is no substance, why hire a lawyer?

"Cody later said he had been on guard during the conversation, having been warned by longtime residents that the Record could be overly aggressive in its reporting."

For what?  Reporting the truth?  Embarrassing officials and exposing them for whom and what they are?

“If you live in Marion, you understand,” he told The Washington Post. “If you don’t live in Marion, you don’t understand.”

That's a crock of shit, Chief.  If you had nothing to hide, why the reaction, sir?  Why the defensiveness?

"Gruver wouldn’t publish any of her reporting on Cody for months to come. But their confrontation in April marked an escalation in long-running tensions between a group of local journalists and the officials and community members they cover that would boil over through the summer. The small-town intrigue might have stayed in a small town, though, had Cody not initiated a dramatic step earlier this month. Responding to a local businesswoman’s allegation that the paper had illegally accessed her driving record, Cody obtained search warrants from a magistrate judge and led half a dozen officers on an Aug. 11 raid of the Record’s offices and the home of its editor and publisher — seizing computers, servers, cellphones and other files."

Action not sanctioned by the County Attorney:

"As for the Record, the newspaper took no small measure of relief and vindication when Marion County Attorney Joel Ensey announced five days after the raid that he would withdraw Cody’s warrant and return the seized items to Meyer and his staff. The announcement seemed to amount to an admission that the now-infamous raid had been a mistake. Ensey said in a statement that there had been “insufficient evidence” to justify a raid on the searched locations or to connect the sought-after items with an alleged crime."

There was no crime.

"The raid was so unusual, and so alarming in its implications for the news media, that it quickly exploded into an international story. Press-advocacy organizations universally condemned the raid as a breach of state and federal laws that protect the media from government intrusion. Within days, a caravan of TV news trucks was rumbling through Marion’s business district, a modest collection of low-slung brick buildings. The emotional response to the raid was heightened by the sudden death of the editor’s 98-year-old mother, who had railed furiously at the officers sorting through her belongings at their home and collapsed a day later. The Record blamed her death on her agitation over the raid. “Get out of my house!” Joan Meyer had shouted at Cody from behind her walker before calling him an expletive, home surveillance video revealed. “Don’t you touch any of that stuff!”

This lady stood tall.  Courageously confronted tyranny of an out of control police chief and the restaurant owner he unrighteously defended.  In violation of the First Amendment Freedom of the Press.

"Yet parsing the events that led to the search — and understanding its larger implications for a free press in the United States — comes down to untangling the complex interrelationships and tortured history of a small group of people coexisting in a single small town. At the center of everything were a business owner, a police chief and a newspaper."

The town seems to forget the United States Constitution stands above all that.

As well as the fact, the Chief had more than enough reason to cover his sorry ass.  Read the following very carefully:

"Deb Gruver’s reporting on Chief Cody never generated a story last spring — her tipsters wouldn’t go on the record, Meyer later said. But her interaction with Cody seemed to be a flash point. “His answer [to Gruver’s questions about Kansas City] wasn’t that it wasn’t true,” Meyer said in an interview. “It was basically that, ‘If you print that, I will sue you.’” Cody, 54, officially assumed his post in June. Shortly thereafter, he ordered his deputies to stop sending daily police activity logs to the Record. Crime is infrequent in Marion, but the Record had consistently published these weekly reports — detailing every minor traffic accident police responded to, every report of wandering cattle — for decades. Cody told The Post that his review led him to believe these disclosures could violate privacy laws. In response, the paper began publishing a pointed notice where the reports had formerly appeared: “Chief Gideon Cody has ceased providing a weekly report of police activities.”

This 'pointed notice' was published for damned good reason.  Get this:

"This month, after the national spotlight cast its glare on Marion, Cody acknowledged in an interview that he had been facing discipline and demotion when he ended his 24-year career with the Kansas City department, resigning from his role as captain in April to take a job paying barely half as much as a small-town chief. The Kansas City Star reported that he had been accused of berating a female officer with insulting comments. (Cody denied he made sexist comments.) But Cody told The Post that his feelings about the Record and its inquiries into his time in Kansas City had no bearing on the actions he took toward it in August."

Not credible.

More on all this as it becomes available.

The following is outrageous, gutless malfeasance by Fox News.  The Washington Post reports:

"The U.S. Marine Corps went up to the highest levels of Fox News last month to challenge a story that falsely claimed a fallen Marine’s family had to cover the cost of transporting her remains, emails obtained by The Washington Post show. Fox quietly amended the digital story and then removed it from its website following more complaints from the Marines but still has not apologized or corrected the erroneous report, which had been based on a false claim quickly retracted by a congressman. The Marines’ communications with Fox were first reported by Military.com, which obtained the emails this week under a Freedom of Information Act request. The July 25 FoxNews.com story relied on an account from freshman Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), who stated that the family of Sgt. Nicole L. Gee had shouldered “a heavy financial burden” of $60,000 to retrieve her body from Afghanistan. Gee, 23, was one of 13 U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at the Kabul airport in the frantic final days of the U.S. withdrawal. The story’s reporter, Michael Lee, quoted Mills calling the family’s supposed expenditures an “egregious injustice.” Neither Pentagon officials nor Gee’s family were quoted in the original story. Marine Corps officials say the family did not face any financial burdens to have Gee’s body shipped to Arlington National Cemetery. They disputed the story in a series of emails to Fox executives — including Fox News president and executive editor Jay Wallace and editor in chief Porter Berry — shortly after the story was published. “The allegations originally published turned out to be false, which I suspect Mr. Lee knew in the first place, and was the reason he did not seek comment from the Marine Corps,” wrote Marine Corps spokesman Maj. James Stenger in an email to the Fox executives."

Goddamned outrageous if true as suspected, especially in light of the following:

"Two days after his original comments to Fox, Mills walked back his claims in a statement in which he seemed to blame the Pentagon and the Gee family for being “in their time of grief, confused” about the costs associated with the transportation of Sgt. Gee’s remains. He said the Department of Defense “was able to provide clarification” about the matter. Fox News and its reporter did not reply to multiple requests for comment. Lee also did not reply. Stenger declined to comment."

Goddamned outrageous, gutless.  Wake up. This United States Marine died in service to her country.

"After Stenger’s first email, Fox added a statement from the Marines to the story and changed its headline. The original headline read: “Family forced to pay to ship body of Marine killed after Pentagon policy change; ‘Egregious injustice.’” The new version said: “Family shouldered burden to transport body of Marine killed in Afghanistan, GOP Rep says.” Fox gave no indication that it had amended the article, a common practice for news organizations. Stenger emailed executives again to say that the new headline and story were still false. “Using the grief of a family member of a fallen Marine to score cheap clickbait points is disgusting,” he wrote. Fox then removed the story from its website altogether, ignoring Stenger’s request for a correction, retraction or an apology to Gee’s family."

Goddamned outrageous, gutless.

"In 2017, Fox News removed a story that suggested a link between the hacking of Democratic National Committee emails and the murder of Seth Rich, a young contractor who had worked there — a conspiracy theory heavily promoted on-air by Fox personalities but later debunked by a special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The network replaced the Rich story a week after publication with a statement conceding that the story “was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require” and said it would investigate and “provide updates as warranted.” District police have said Seth Rich’s still-unsolved murder appeared to be a result of a botched robbery. In 2020, Fox settled a lawsuit filed by Rich’s parents on undisclosed terms. But it never published further explanation about the retracted story."

Lack of credibility is the reason this publication no longer trusts Fox News.  Sad, isn't it?

Think Trump does not have increasingly serious legal problems?  CBS News reports:

"Across former President Donald Trump's four years in the White House, he frequently took to social media to level sharp attacks against his critics and political opponents. But as the former president and leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination navigates four different criminal cases brought against him, Trump could now face consequences for his online denunciations if they bump up against the agreed-upon conditions that allowed for his release before the trials begin. The restrictions in his two federal cases imposed by magistrate judges and the state case in Fulton County, Georgia, signed by a judge there warn against intimidating people involved in the matters, such as co-defendants, witnesses, jurors or officers of the court. "He is doing harm to himself by posting these messages," Sarah Krissoff, a former federal prosecutor who now works as a defense attorney, told CBS News. "Not only is he risking violations of these court orders and fines and even jail time because of that, he is risking the outcome of these criminal cases."

No question.  Certainly, indicative of his aggressive stupidity, hopelessly determined ignorance.  Sad, isn't it?

"The former president is facing a total of 91 counts across the four prosecutions — two in state courts and two in federal courts — brought against him since late March. Trump has denied wrongdoing in each of his cases and instead has blamed federal and local prosecutors for mounting politically charged "witch hunts" that he says aim to derail his 2024 presidential campaign."

Nonsense, unadulterated bullshit embraced by a defendant who apparently has no viable defense.  Expects equally delusional supporters to protect and defend him.  That's certainly not going to work as a defense in the judicial system.

"Trump has most recently trained his social media ire on special counsel Jack Smith, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Smith has brought federal charges against Trump in two cases: the first over his handling of sensitive government records recovered from his South Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago; and the second over alleged attempts to thwart the transfer of presidential power after the 2020 election, which is being overseen by Chutkan in Washington, D.C. Trump pleaded not guilty in both cases. Willis, meanwhile, spent two years investigating Trump over alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, and brought a sprawling racketeering case against the former president and 18 others last week. Trump is charged with 13 counts, and he has yet to be arraigned."

Carefully, consider the following.  For damned good reason:

"Trump's pretrial release conditions in Washington, D.C., prohibit him from communicating about the facts of his federal case with any person known to be a witness, except through his attorneys, and warn in part that it is a crime to obstruct a criminal investigation or intimidate a "witness, victim, juror, informant, or officer of the court."

Trump apparently doesn't understand the above, -- or, has no viable defense:

"But in the wake of his indictment and arraignment, Trump has taken to his social media website Truth Social to call Chutkan "very biased & unfair" and Smith "deranged." He has also continued to lambast his vice president, Mike Pence, who rebuffed the former president's calls for him to unilaterally toss out state electoral votes or delay the certification of the 2020 election results. "I never told a newly emboldened (not based on his 2% poll numbers!) Pence to put me above the Constitution, or that Mike was 'too honest,'" Trump wrote on Aug. 5, referencing allegations contained in the charging document. "He's delusional, and now he wants to show he's a tough guy."

Get this:

"In April, Pence testified before the grand jury impaneled as part of special counsel Smith's investigation into the events surrounding the 2020 election, and the indictment revealed that the former vice president kept contemporaneous notes about his conversations with Trump."

Think that won't be a problem for Trump as Pence does all he can to protect himself?

"At least one of Trump's posts, from Aug. 4, garnered the attention of federal prosecutors on Smith's team. In a filing to Chutkan requesting a protective order governing the disclosure of discovery material, the Justice Department lawyers included an image of the message "IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I'M COMING AFTER YOU!" posted by the former president on Truth Social."

That will be a continuing problem for Trump and his attorneys:

"In an Aug. 11 hearing, Chutkan warned Trump's lawyers that there are limits to what their client can say and reminded them of the conditions of his release while awaiting trial. "Your client's defense is supposed to happen in this courtroom, not on the internet," she said. More "inflammatory" statements about the case would increase her urgency in bringing the case to trial to protect the pool of prospective jurors, the judge said. "I will take whatever measures are necessary to safeguard the integrity of these proceedings," Chutkan said."

Hopefully, including jailing the former president if the terms of his release are violated.  The following is certainly true:

"Some lawyers believe that if Trump were not a former president and candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, he would already have faced severe consequences for his online comments. "If he was Donald Smith, he would be in jail right now," said Gene Rossi, a former federal prosecutor. "The argument that we're treating him unfairly is baloney."

That's right.  Unadulterated bullshit.  In a democratic republic everyone is supposed to be treated equally, -- from the bottom of the food chain to the very top.  Otherwise, we live in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Repercussions Trump could face for his online comments include fines, a finding of contempt or revoking his bond if he's found to violate his release conditions, Rossi said. The judge could also impose a gag order that restricts the former president from talking about his case in public if he continues to run afoul of the rules governing his release. Judges "have wide discretion in issuing orders that protect the integrity of the legal process, to protect what happens in the courtroom when that jury is empaneled and evidence is presented," Rossi said. "Those priorities far outweigh the de minimis effect on his First Amendment rights." While Trump can publicly declare his innocence and denounce the charges against him as "baloney," he can't "bash a witness that's been listed. He doesn't have the right to go to a rally and read grand jury transcripts. He doesn't have that right, period," Rossi said. Still, Trump's lawyers face a tall task in reining in his social media comments, Krissoff said, as there is a "long history of people trying to quiet him, and he can't be quieted."

Jail his ass.

"Indeed, the former president's lawyers seem to recognize the difficulties of limiting their client's public criticisms of his prosecutions and those involved. "With President Trump, because of the campaign and I would say because of his personality, it's impossible for him not to speak out on the issues. So it does present unique circumstances," John Lauro, who is representing Trump in the federal case involving the 2020 election, said in an episode of the podcast "For the Defense with David Oscar Markus" published Aug. 6. Lauro did not return a request for comment. One Trump legal team source said in June that they were concerned about even basic protective order restrictions, because "we were worried that if Trump isn't allowed to talk about the evidence, he'll just do it anyway."

Jail his ass.

"Amplifying concerns about the impacts of Trump's rhetoric on social media is the arrest of a Texas woman who left a threatening voicemail for Chutkan on Aug. 5. saying, in part, "You are in our sights. We want to kill you," according to a criminal complaint. The woman called Chutkan, who is Black, a racial slur and warned, "If Trump doesn't get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you, so tread lightly b***h," according to the filing. "It is not speculation for Judge Chutkan to conclude that vitriolic social posts by the president of the United States can rile up his supporters who have drunk the Kool-Aid and think that everything's a witch hunt and there's the deep state. She already has evidence that this could lead to death threats against me, Judge Chutkan," Rossi said. "So he has to be very careful that there isn't a hearing to show cause as to why she should either revoke his bond, severely limit his bond, or hold him in contempt and put even more stringent responsibilities on his attorneys."

Jail his ass.

"While the limits imposed in his federal case in Washington generally prohibit the intimidation of witnesses, victims, or officers of the court, the conditions agreed to by Trump's lawyers and Willis in Fulton County specifically mention posts to social media. As part of the consent bond order negotiated earlier this week, the former president is barred from intimidating or making "direct or indirect" threats against any of his 18 codefendants, witnesses, or alleged victims, including through social media posts or sharing others' content online. Before the grand jury returned the 41-count indictment on Aug. 14, the former president took aim at Geoff Duncan, the former lieutenant governor of Georgia, and said he "shouldn't" testify before the panel. "I barely know him but he was, right from the beginning of this Witch Hunt, a nasty disaster for those looking into the Election Fraud that took place in Georgia," Trump wrote, calling Duncan a "loser." He called Willis "crooked, incompetent & highly partisan" in a Truth Social post Monday, and a "Radical left, lowlife district attorney" in a message on the platform Thursday, before he surrendered to authorities in Fulton County and was booked on 13 charges in the election case."

Jail his ass.

"Steven Sadow, Trump's lawyer in the Fulton County case, declined to comment when asked whether he's concerned Trump's public statements or social media posts could lead to judicial repercussions, telling CBS News in an email "my work will be done in court."

That right?

"Krissoff, the defense attorney, noted that all of Trump's online statements can be used against him and possibly harm his case. "He's trying to walk the line between challenging the witnesses and challenging the case against him, challenging the prosecutors, but not outwardly trying to influence their actions," she said. "But some of the posts that have already hit, it could certainly be inferred as threats or witness intimidation or efforts at obstruction. As time goes on, if there's a pattern of those, then the inference gets even stronger."

Jail his ass.

"There is a risk new obstruction charges related to his recent conduct could be brought, Krissoff said. "Your First Amendment rights are not unfettered. You can't commit a crime with your words or encourage others to commit a crime. There's a lot of things you can't say in public," she said. "It gets muddier when you're in the midst of an election, but I think we may have a civics lesson on our hands for what are the outer edges of permissible speech here, because I think he really pushes the boundaries."

Jail his ass.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
