Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable. Time to step up.  Now.

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Three hundred sixty weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Hey, Sheriff?  Reportedly, promote Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 to Sergeant?  If true, yet another classic example of survival of the unfittest in the law enforcement community.  Readers are reminded this is the very same idiot, clueless asshole responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to the Pace Arrow as reported in each edition of this publication.  Far more to Kingsland property owner James Berardi in a property dispute.  -- A dispute engineered by Johnny Greene, apparently financed by a bribe to the former County Attorney, current District Attorney, and Sheriff.  A federal investigation of Llano County government and the aforementioned allegedly corrupt and abusive bastards in this ongoing fiasco is desperately needed.  Tim Chorney.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Three hundred sixty weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Three hundred sixty weeks.  Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Uncommon Valor.  This time, a university president stands tall.  Seatbelts on.  ABC News reports:

"When Michael Sutton and Kenny Phillips went out for Phillips' birthday in May 2006, they never thought it would result in them being wrongfully arrested and incarcerated for 15 years. "It went down the same night as my 18th birthday," Phillips, 34, said to News 5 Cleveland of that fateful night in Cleveland. "Everybody was like, 'Let's go out for your birthday. Let's celebrate.' But wrong place, wrong time." The two friends had attempted murder convictions overturned last September and on Thursday, the University of Akron granted them full scholarships to earn their college degrees. "It feels like a dream come true," Sutton said to News 5 Cleveland. "This was something I always dreamed about but being locked in prison for so long I didn't think it could happen."

Most ironically:

"Sutton, 35, was planning on attending the University of Akron in the 2006 school year before being incarcerated. "I was on my way here. I never got to make it here," Sutton said to News 5 Cleveland. "I was coming to Akron for business administration. I had a full ride."

Imagine spending all those years in prison for a crime you did not commit clearly knowing the opportunity you had been unjustly denied.

Uncommon Valor.  Akron University President Gary L. Miller stood tall:

"We are doing this as a way to present an opportunity to two gentlemen who had their opportunity ripped from their lives," University of Akron President Gary L. Miller said to ABC News in a statement. "An education gives you the opportunity for a fresh start."

No question.

"The Innocence Project, an independent nonprofit that works to release wrongfully convicted individuals from prison, represented Sutton in court and helped to get him released. According to a statement sent to ABC News from the Innocence Project, on the night of their arrest in 2006, as Sutton and Phillips were on their way home with two friends, the passengers of a nearby vehicle fired shots into another vehicle, injuring the occupants. Two Cleveland officers pulled over Sutton, Phillips and their friends and detained them. They were all tried for attempted murder, and the testimonies of the police officers were the principal evidence used against the four friends, per the Innocence Project. Sutton and Phillips were the only ones convicted and received 41 and 65 years in prison, respectively. Throughout their time in jail, they maintained their innocence."

Get this.  It's appalling:

"This is what happens when police officers get it wrong and refuse to acknowledge their mistake," Donald Caster, Sutton's attorney with the Innocence Project, told ABC News in a statement. "Michael (Sutton) and Kenny (Phillips) were robbed of their early adulthood. Everything that people do in their late teens and twenties — to college, start a career, meet their partner, start a family — has all been delayed for Michael and Kenny. They are remarkable and they will overcome what was taken from them, but they shouldn't have to." In 2015, according to the Innocence Project, the Wrongful Conviction Project discovered two police officers possessed evidence that contradicted the two officers who detained Sutton and Phillips. The new information pointed to Sutton's and Phillips' innocence." "They were released in May 2021 and last September had their convictions overturned after spending a decade and a half in jail. A jury unanimously found Sutton and Phillips not guilty, according to the Innocence Project. "Michael and Kenny are the reason why the people who do innocence work, which can be grueling, keep fighting on behalf of the wrongfully convicted," Caster said. "It has been an honor to be a small part of their story, and I am excited to see what lies ahead for them."

Were the officers involved consequently prosecuted?

"ABC News reached out to the Akron Police Department but have not yet received a response."

Surprised?

The following rings achingly hollow:

"The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office told ABC News in a statement that the Trial Court granted a new motion for a new trial, for which they were found not guilty, and that they respected the outcome. "We respect the jury's verdict. We are excited to hear about the educational opportunities afforded to these two individuals. We hope they live a happy life and wish them success in their future endeavors," Lexi Bauer, Communications Manager for The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, said."

The following is most encouraging:

"Sutton and Phillips both plan to start college in the fall. "God gave us back everything we thought we lost, double time, "Phillips said to News 5 Cleveland. "I gotta keep going strong not just for myself, because I thought it was for myself, but for God. He was like, 'No, I saved you for a reason, keep putting out the message.'"

Find an attorney.  Sue the living shit out of all the bastards involved.  -- If not for yourselves, all the others who have been falsely convicted by corrupt and abusive law enforcement and derelict prosecutors in their pocket.  ... Right, Sheriff?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

More of the same.  Never ends.  Ideastream Public Media reports:

"Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley announced indictments against 11 East Cleveland Police officers Wednesday, for charges including felonious assault, interference with civil rights and dereliction of duty. Seven of those officers were indicted for the first time. Four had been indicted previously, but new charges were filed. O’Malley said the investigation is ongoing. “Make no mistake, there has been a cancer growing in the East Cleveland Police Department,” O’Malley said. “We are doing our best to remove every tentacle of that cancer so that this department can rebuild and grow.” In the last seven months, 16 East Cleveland Police officers have been indicted, including the chief. The FBI has set up a hotline for tips about officer wrongdoing in the city. Of the seven newly indicted officers, Detective Ian McInness, Patrolman Tre Dehart Robinson, Sergeant John Hartman and Patrolman Brian Parks are all active East Cleveland police officers. Tristan Homan left the department to become an officer with the city of Elyria. Laurice Mans and Nicholas Foti both left the department before the indictments were filed. The four other officers who received additional charges — Tyler Mundson, Kyle Wood, Brian Stoll and Daniel Toomer — are all on leave."

Sad, isn't it?  -- If you can't trust law enforcement, who can you trust?

Gets worse.  Get this.  It's appalling:

"During a press conference Wednesday, O’Malley played a collection of body camera and surveillance camera footage showing use-of-force incidents by the officers, including one encounter where an officer driving a patrol car appeared to intentionally hit a man with his car. In another, an officer used a taser multiple times on a man who was lying on the ground. "People in these videos were giving up,” O’Malley said. “They were showing their hands. They were not threats. They were acquiescing to the authority of law enforcement and putting their hands up.” East Cleveland City Council President Juanita Gowdy attended the press conference. Gowdy thanked O’Malley and said she wants the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department to take over patrols in the city. “It’s been a long time coming,” Gowdy said. “I respect what you all are doing for our city because we’ve been crying out for a long time about these cops.”

The only way to end this abuse is to prosecute.  Sadly, there is a rampant problem all across this country of prosecutors being in bed with corrupt and abusive law enforcement.  Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley stands tall.  We need far more prosecutors like him.  ... Right, Sheriff?

Think things will ever change?  ABC News reports:

"A deceptive photo lineup helped imprison a man for over 18 years for a fatal shooting he did not commit, according to the Brooklyn district attorney, who said Thursday he will ask for that conviction to be vacated. Sheldon Thomas, 35, was convicted of a 2004 murder in Brooklyn's East Flatbush neighborhood. He was arrested based on a witness identification of a different person with the same name who lived in the same precinct -- a mistake that was first concealed and then explained away during the proceedings, prosecutors said."

Outrageous.  An egregiously failed system.

"A reinvestigation concluded detectives knew they were different people but were intent on arresting the defendant and used the faulty identification procedure as pretext, prosecutors said."

Will they be held criminally accountable and prosecuted?

"The defendant is scheduled to appear in Brooklyn Supreme Court Thursday afternoon, during which prosecutors will make the motion to vacate the conviction. "We must strive to ensure fairness and integrity in every case and have the courage to correct mistakes of the past. That is what we are doing in this case, where an extensive reinvestigation by my Conviction Review Unit revealed that it was compromised from the very start by grave errors and lack of probable cause to arrest Mr. Thomas," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement. "He was further deprived of his due process rights when the prosecution proceeded even after the erroneous identification came to light, making his conviction fundamentally unfair." Three alleged gang members, including Thomas, were charged with killing 14-year-old Anderson Bercy and wounding another person on Dec. 24, 2004, in East Flatbush. Two guns were used and the shooters were inside a white car. A witness initially identified two men she knew, who did not include Thomas, as being in the car."

The following is appalling:

"According to the district attorney's Conviction Review Unit, detectives obtained a photo of another Sheldon Thomas from a police database and showed an array with that photo to the witness, who identified him as being in the car with 90% certainty. Based on her identification, the detectives went to the defendant's address -- not to the address of the Sheldon Thomas whose photo the witness had identified -- and arrested him."

Will they be held criminally accountable?  Prosecuted?

"The defendant denied any involvement in the homicide, but the same witness who identified the other Thomas in the array also identified defendant Thomas in a lineup -- effectively identifying two different people as the perpetrator, prosecutors said. Thomas was then indicted along with the two others." It wasn't until a pretrial hearing in June 2006 that the array identification of the wrong Thomas came to light. Detective Robert Reedy admitted he falsely testified and the defendant was actually not in the array. Reedy was later disciplined following an investigation by the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau."

Think that's sufficient?  How is this justice?  Why wasn't the bastard prosecuted?

"Another detective conceded that, when questioned a few days after the murder, the defendant had told them that it wasn't him in the photo array. Despite these revelations, the judge found that there was probable cause to arrest Thomas based on "verified information from unknown callers" and the fact that he resembled the other Thomas from the photo array. The defendant was convicted of second-degree murder, attempted murder and related counts and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. The Conviction Review Unit recommended vacating the conviction as "the errors undermined the integrity of the entire judicial process and defendant's resulting conviction." Because the evidence was and is defective, the case cannot be retried, and the unit recommended dismissing the underlying indictment."

Think that's sufficient?  How is that justice?  Why haven't the judge and all officers involved been prosecuted?  ... Right, Sheriff?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Another senseless death perpetrated by the jackbooted bastards in blue.  NBC News reports:

"A Kentucky man with a heart condition died in police custody Saturday, and his friend who recorded the arrest said officers never called for medical assistance despite her insistence that he was struggling to breathe. Clarence Wilkerson, 34, died after Ashland police officers tried to serve a warrant, Kentucky State Police said in a statement Monday. The state's medical examiner found Wilkerson's death was not the result of a "traumatic event" but possibly related to an existing medical condition, state police said in a statement. An autopsy began the day after Wilkerson died, according to the Boyd County coroner, but an official cause of death has not yet been determined. State police are investigating upon request from Ashland police."

'Fox guarding the chicken coop.'

"Bethany Bowman, a friend who witnessed Wilkerson’s arrest, said officers did not call for medical support even after she and Wilkerson noted his struggle to breathe. Bowman, who sometimes referred to Wilkerson by his nickname, "C," said she knew one of the officers involved in the arrest because he was frequently in the area by her trailer park. The morning of his death, Wilkerson was playing video games at Bowman's with her boyfriend. He was lucid, calm and coherent when he left at 11:45 a.m., she said. "As soon as he stepped out of the trailer, he closed the door behind him, and me and my boyfriend heard him talking to someone," Bowman said. She said Wilkerson ran around her trailer to avoid the officer. The officer followed him, ran into a clothesline and requested backup, Bowman said. That's when she began recording. "The video was six minutes long, and I started recording at 12:02 p.m.," Bowman said. "In that 15 minutes, he went from being healthy to on death’s door." Bowman's video was recorded from a distance, and it is sometimes difficult to hear the officers or get a close look at Wilkerson's face. Bowman can be heard telling officers that Wilkerson is having difficulty breathing and losing color. The beginning of the video shows four officers surrounding Wilkerson, who is sitting in front of a police SUV, his wrists handcuffed behind his back. "He's literally sitting there passing out, man," Bowman says on the recording. Wilkerson then says "breathing, bro," to the officers, seemingly panting as officers ask him to stand up, the video shows. One of the officers recounted what happened to the others. "Told him he had a warrant, and he started running," the officer says. "That little red rope there got me underneath my neck." An officer can be heard a few moments later saying Wilkerson "won't stand up." Two officers then stand on either side of Wilkerson, helping him stand as they try to move him into the SUV's back seat. Wilkerson leans forward while he makes small steps to the back door as Bowman asks whether he will get any medical treatment. An officer responds, and although the word "hospital" is heard, the full sentence is unclear."

Get this:

"Bowman said she believed the officer's response was that they were not going to take him to the hospital. "We were asking for medical attention, he was asking for medical attention, he was asking for compassion, and he was denied and mocked for it," Bowman said. "They refused to radio to a medic. ... The last words I heard before they closed the door on Clarence was a muffled and raspy 'I can’t breathe.'" Wilkerson is no longer visible after about two minutes, the car door blocking him as two officers appear to speak to him. Four other officers are seen to the side of the vehicle. The remaining four minutes of the video include Bowman talking to officers, including yelling "he can't breathe" at one point. The video ends with officers driving away. Wilkerson was pronounced dead at Kings Daughters Medical Center, the coroner's office said. It is unclear how long after the recording ended that Wilkerson was taken for medical care. All involved officers were placed on administrative leave as part of department protocol, Ashland police said. A spokesperson declined to comment further, referring inquiries to state police."

A paid vacation?  Lack of transparency?  No surprise.

"The city of Ashland said in a statement Wednesday that its officials had met with the local NAACP branch "regarding the impact on the community of the recent death of Clarence Wilkerson." "To ensure a complete and thorough independent investigation of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Wilkerson's death, the city immediately requested that the Kentucky State Police (KSP) conduct the investigation and has cooperated fully with the process," the statement said."

'Fox guarding the chicken coop.'

"The city said it would not make any comments about the case before the investigation was complete, when the findings would be released to the public."

No transparency?  No credibility.  Zero.

"Wilkerson's family retained civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who said in a statement Wednesday that officers "did not take his clearly declining condition seriously." "In the upsetting video, we hear a bystander saying over and over that he needs help, while officers fail to provide aid for several critical minutes," Crump said. "We demand that the Ashland Police Department release all footage they have from this incident and conduct a full investigation so the family and community can see the full picture of how this man lost his life.” Sherri Ford, Wilkerson's mother; her husband; and Wilkerson's older brother spoke Monday with The Daily Independent, a newspaper in Ashland. Ford said her son had a heart condition and required catherization in his late 20s. She did not detail his medical condition further."

In follow-up to another recent horrendous murder perpetrated by the jackbooted bastards in blue covered here and elsewhere, NPR reports:

"A second autopsy of an environmental activist who was shot and killed by the Georgia State Patrol on Jan. 18 shows their hands were raised when they were killed, lawyers for their family say. The full autopsy report will be released at a press conference Monday. The 26-year-old protester, Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, was killed in an Atlanta-area forest while police cleared an encampment of activists who oppose the construction of Atlanta's "Cop City" — or Public Training Safety Facility. Terán went by Tortuguita. "Both Manuel's left and right hands show exit wounds in both palms. The autopsy further reveals that Manuel was most probably in a seated position, cross-legged when killed," lawyers said in a press release. Last month, Tortuguita's family said they were shot at least a dozen times. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says officers killed Tortuguita in self-defense after they shot a state trooper, but the City of Atlanta released videos in which an officer suggests the trooper may have been injured by friendly fire."

Law enforcement, sadly, remains rife with congenital liars:

"The Atlanta Police Department said that the "officers had no immediate knowledge of the events at the shooting site" before making their comments, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that officer's speculation is not evidence."

Certainly, taken as such when they lie like hell testifying on the stand under oath.  ... Right, Sheriff?

"Tortuguita's family has sued for the release of more information under the Georgia Open Records Act, the press release says. "Imagine the police killed your child. And now then imagine they won't tell you anything. That is what we are going through," Belkis Terán, Tortuguita's mother, said in a statement."

How the jackbooted bastards get their cookies off.  ... Right, Sheriff?

"The Georgia Bureau of Investigation hasn't released the government's autopsy report or met with Tortuguita's family, and it blocked the City of Atlanta from releasing more video evidence. It has said there's no body camera or dashcam footage of the shooting, and that ballistics evidence shows the bullet that injured the trooper came from a gun belonging to Tortuguita."

No transparency, consequently zero credibility.  Hard to believe there is no video of a major raid.  Could it be the murderous jackbooted bastards are lying like hell to protect their sorry asses?  Sadly, the following quote seems to confirm it:

"The actions of the GBI to prevent inappropriate release of evidence are solely intended to preserve the integrity of the investigation and to ensure the facts of the incident are not tainted," the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said."

The above quote has no credibility.  Rings hollow.  Contradicted by the independent autopsy report.  The family's attorneys don't buy the substance of the quote either:

"The family's lawyers dispute this rationale. Attorney Brian Spears said in a statement that the agency "has had more than enough time to interview all witnesses. Once those interviews are complete, there is no reason to withhold this evidence."

Couldn't be the bastards are covering their sorry, lying, murderous, jackbooted asses, could it?  ... Right, Sheriff?

"Those who knew Tortuguita say the details offered by authorities don't match the person they knew. In interviews, while they were still alive, Tortuguita expressed a commitment to nonviolence. The training facility is set to cost $90 million and take up 85 acres of land in the South River Forest, which is an important area of green space that the City of Atlanta has described as one of its four "lungs." Tortuguita was one of the forest defenders camping out on the site to prevent its development."

The Washington Post reports:

"Police stopped one man on Barnaby Street SE, noticed an “L shaped object” in his satchel and found a loaded .22-caliber pistol in the bag. They approached another man whom they saw smoking marijuana on Congress Street SE, then watched as he threw a .45-caliber ghost gun with a laser attachment into some nearby bushes. In yet another case, officers spotted a man who had been smoking marijuana toss a black bag to the floor as he hopped into a parked car on South Capitol Street SW. Inside, they discovered a .380-caliber gun. All three men were arrested on gun charges, and their weapons were seized by D.C. police officers, who detailed the circumstances in charging documents. The cases had been making their way through the court system until October, when all three cases were dropped."

Fascinating, isn't it?  Achingly sad, as well.  What happens when law enforcement loses all credibility.

"The officers who made the seizures were assigned to the police department’s 7th District, where internal affairs investigators are probing whether those on a violent crime squad lied on internal reports. The investigation has focused on police interactions in which the officers stopped people and seized their guns, but did not make arrests. Because of questions about the officers’ credibility, prosecutors began reviewing previous cases in which suspects had been charged — to see if the police accounts of events could withstand scrutiny."

Get this:

"In October, the month after the internal probe became public, prosecutors dismissed 65 gun possession cases from 2021 and 2022 involving officers in the 7th District, which includes communities in Southeast Washington such as Anacostia and Washington Highlands, according to D.C. Superior Court records reviewed by The Washington Post. Prosecutors dropped another 25 drug cases involving 7th District officers, The Post found. The dismissals have left some city leaders fearful that the suspects who were released could possibly commit other crimes."

Happens when law enforcement loses all credibility.

"In 32 of the dismissed gun cases, those charged had been convicted of crimes previously, including murder, armed robbery, assault and drug possession, according to The Post’s review of court records. In the weeks following the gun case dismissals, seven people were rearrested for other crimes, including carrying a pistol without a license, driving under the influence and receiving stolen property. One man was charged with threatening to kidnap a person and attempted second-degree cruelty to children, though that case was later dropped. “This means there are more criminals on the street,” said D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D). “These officers jeopardized their credibility. These officers are at fault for these individuals being back on the street.”

Will the officers be prosecuted?  ... Or, protected and coddled?

None of this is simple:

"But defense attorneys and activists said the dismissed cases illustrate another problem: that officers were too often stopping people with flimsy probable cause."

Called abuse of power.  Lack of professionalism.  Think better training is the answer?  Or, are some hopelessly unfit?

"In the same month that prosecutors dismissed 65 gun cases initiated by 7th District officers, they dismissed 25 involving officers in other districts — suggesting they did not feel police had enough evidence to support criminal charges. In most of the files The Post reviewed, prosecutors did not disclose the specific reasons for the dismissals, and they moved to throw out the charges in a way they could be refiled. In six cases, defense attorneys said prosecutors outlined to them that the charges were being dismissed because at least one of the officers involved was currently part of the internal investigation. The U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. had previously confirmed that prosecutors dismissed “dozens” of gun and drug possession cases involving officers in the 7th District precinct because of the investigation, but declined to provide a specific figure or details of the cases."

Lack of transparency is always a problem.  Inevitably, leads to distrust.  Too many lies.

"Patricia Hartman, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office, declined to comment on the reasons for dismissing the 65 gun cases, but said in a statement: “Where we believe that we have sufficient admissible evidence to prove an illegal gun possession case at trial beyond a reasonable doubt, we will bring charges and try that case. It is important to note that even where probable cause previously has been established, the government must assess whether it has sufficient evidence — including the availability of witnesses essential to present that evidence — to meet its burden of proof at trial.” D.C. police said that the internal investigation of the officers remains ongoing and that prosecutors are conducting their own investigation to determine whether any charges should be filed against the officers."

Sadly, the tendency is to protect and coddle the bastards.

“It is widely acknowledged that illegal firearms are contributing to violence in Washington, D.C., and our officers have the difficult task of removing them safely while protecting the constitutional rights of the community,” Dustin Sternbeck, a D.C. police spokesman, said in a statement. “This comes with the expectation that our members are performing these duties within department policy. When their practices aren’t holding violent offenders accountable or are inconsistent with agency standards, we have the responsibility to intervene.”

Empty, hollow, meaningless rhetoric.  Devoid of substance.  Double talk.

Here's the problem:

"D.C. Police Chief Robert J. Contee III revealed the internal affairs investigation publicly on the last day of September, announcing that seven police officers from the 7th District’s crime suppression team had been placed on administrative leave or desk duty. The circumstances were unusual. By Contee’s account, senior officials had discovered incidents in which officers stopped people and took guns from them — but then let them go without making an arrest. Contee said officials were trying to determine — among other things — if the officers were truthful in police reports they submitted about weapon seizures, as video from the officers’ body cameras did not match what was described in the reports. The precise discrepancies were not clear. The seven officers, part of the roughly 20-person crime suppression team, concentrated on patrolling neighborhoods in the 7th District. Police officials replaced a majority of that team with officers from other departments across the city, Sternbeck said at the time."

If body camera video did not match the reports, what does that tell you?  Why weren't the bastards prosecuted?  Instead, protected and coddled?

"Prosecutors soon began dropping cases, raising concerns among some residents and local political leaders. “With the violence going up, people are getting desperate and police are overlooking people’s rights to get the streets safe. And that’s not right,” said Amanda Beale, an elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner from Southeast Washington. “We want the guns off the streets. But we don’t want people discriminated against. We want the police to do things the right way.”

Clearly, that's not happening.  A problem throughout the country.

"It is not uncommon for the U.S. attorney’s office to drop cases in which police seize guns. Defense attorneys have in the past accused officers of filing weak cases, and prosecutors often push police to gather more evidence. In the wake of Contee’s announcement of the investigation, the D.C. Police Union defended the officers — saying they were simply doing what they thought they were supposed to do, getting guns off the street while continuing to investigate. “This is exactly what [Contee] and MPD supervisors told the officers to do — get the guns off the street and obtain direct evidence linking the gun to the person,” Gregg Pemberton, chairman of the D.C. Police Union, said previously. That the investigation has dragged on for more than five months has frustrated some city leaders, who say they would like clarity and accountability sooner rather than later."

Again, this remains a problem all across the country.  A lack of professionalism.

“It’s not in the public interest for disciplinary investigations to go on so long,” Mendelson said. “It’s about accountability. The public has come to appreciate more than ever, after witnessing the murder of George Floyd, how critical accountability is. Delaying the investigation of these officers is the antipathy to accountability.”

No question.

“We hear from community members frequently, from them or people they know, with stories about being stopped by police when they aren’t doing anything wrong,” said Michael Perloff, a staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in Washington. “Officers walking down the street come across people engaging in innocent conduct, and then stopping and frisking them. That conduct is very close to the line and very much over the line to what is constitutionally allowed.” Defense attorneys said, too, that officers in the 7th District are not the only ones to face allegations that they are acting without probable cause. Attorney Carrie Weletz said police charging documents are often full of “absurdities such as someone’s pocket appeared heavy. Or they allegedly saw, in the dark of night, a protruding pocket. “It’s citywide. They are, and were, stopping people for baseless reasons. And some of these people should have never been stopped,” Weletz said. “I understand that there needs to be gun control and guns are an issue in the District of Columbia. But the police department can’t stop people because they are in a certain neighborhood or in an area that is full of crime and violence,” she added. “There are normal everyday folks who are trying to live their lives every day and go to work.”

Clearly, not possible in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Exoneration.  What took so long?  ABC News reports:

"A man who has served more than 34 years of a 400-year prison sentence has been released after the state of Florida reinvestigated the case and determined he did not commit armed robbery. “I can’t put it into words,” said Sidney Holmes, now 57, in an interview with ABC affiliate WPLG after he was exonerated and freed on Monday. “It’s overwhelming.”

Certainly, is.  Find a good lawyer and sue the living shit out of the bastards responsible for the false conviction.

“With the Christian faith I have, I can’t have hate,” Holmes said. “Just have to keep moving.”

Indeed, you do.  Certainly, admire your courage and resolve.  Still need to sue, -- if not for yourself, for all others falsely convicted in our outrageously corrupt and abusive system.

"According to Broward County State Attorney Harold F. Pryor, a thorough reinvestigation of the 1988 armed robbery case that led to Holmes’ conviction “raised reasonable doubts about his guilt.” Holmes was arrested in October 1988 for allegedly being the driver for two unidentified men who robbed a man and woman at gunpoint outside a store, according to Pryor. The two unidentified men stole the male victim’s car. Holmes was convicted in a jury trial in April 1989, and sentenced to 400 years in prison. In 2020, Holmes contacted the State Attorney’s Conviction Review Unit (CRU) claiming he was “factually innocent” of the armed robbery of two people outside a convenience store, Pryor said in a statement. The CRU found that there is "no evidence" connecting Holmes to the robbery besides a flawed identification of him and the vehicle involved in the robbery. The CRU found that witness identification of Holmes was likely a "misidentification," partly due to the photo and live lineup practices commonly used by law enforcement at the time, which are "scientifically unreliable," according to the state attorney's office."

All the more reason to sue.

"The state attorney's office also found that Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies who did the original investigations "expressed shock" that Holmes was sentenced to 400 years and had served more than three decades. “We have one rule here at the Broward State Attorney’s Office – do the right thing, always," Pryor said in a statement. "As prosecutors, our only agenda is to promote public safety in our community and to ensure that justice is served. I commend the victims, witnesses and law enforcement officers for their candor and assistance in reinvestigating a crime that occurred more than 34 years ago."

Need to do far. far more than that.  The above?  No more than empty, hollow, meaningless rhetoric.  Those responsible for this false conviction, egregious injustice must be held accountable, prosecuted.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Think the Israeli aggressor is not committing war crimes?  The Washington Post reports:

"Israeli security forces in an armored vehicle fired repeatedly into a group of civilians sheltering between a mosque and a clinic after a Feb. 22 raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, killing two people, including a teenager, and wounding three others, according to witnesses and a visual reconstruction of the event by The Washington Post. The Post spoke with two witnesses to the shooting, obtained previously unpublished videos of the incident from a bystander and the Israel Defense Forces, and had audio experts analyze the gunfire. A Post reporter collected visual evidence at the scene to reconstruct the incident using 3D modeling software, and reporters also reviewed more than 30 videos filmed in Nablus that day. The Post reconstruction shows that, while responding to what they claimed was a gunman, Israeli forces fired at least 14 times from inside their armored vehicle as it moved down a street and then came to a halt next to a short wall behind which the civilians huddled. The Israelis continued firing even after those people would have been visible from the vehicle’s windows, the analysis shows."

Nothing new.  Been going on decades.  Ignored by the United States.

“It was a black Wednesday,” said Farid Shaaban, the father of 16-year-old Mohammad Shaaban, who was killed as he waited for a ride home after school. “For Nablus and for my personal history, my family.” The Israeli military declined to answer detailed questions about the incident but said that soldiers at the scene said a man had fired at their vehicles before running toward the clinic. An Israeli military official said the matter is “under examination.”

Empty, hollow, meaningless rhetoric.  Means shit squat.  The Israeli aggressor has no intention of changing tactics, i.e. targeting civilians.

"Israeli forces killed at least 11 people during and after the raid, including several Palestinian fighters, and wounded 102, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and social media posts by Palestinian armed groups. The raid came amid a rise in deadly Israeli military incursions unseen in the occupied West Bank since the end of the most recent Palestinian uprising in 2005. Recent shootings of civilians by Israeli forces have alarmed human rights and advocacy groups, several of which called the events a result of soldiers being given impunity for unlawful violence against Palestinian civilians."

War crimes.

"Israeli forces killed 71 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 13 children, between Jan. 1 and March 7, according to the last available figures provided by the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Israeli forces killed 146 Palestinians in the West Bank in 2022, and 75 in 2021. At least 14 Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians so far this year."

A massacre of Palestinians.  Casualty figures quite lopsided.

"An official for the Israeli military said their forces do not deliberately target civilians, fire only as a last resort and abide by international law."

Clearly, not true.  A lie.  Perpetrated decades by the Israeli aggressor.

"The Feb. 22 raid of a house in Nablus began around 9 a.m. and involved 150 members of the Israeli military, border police and internal security service, according to the Israeli military. The operation targeted two members of an armed group called the Lions’ Den and a member of Islamic Jihad who were planning to carry out attacks against Israelis in the “immediate future,” the military said. Israeli forces killed all three men during the rare daylight raid, which set off hours of violence around the city center."

The Israeli aggressor doesn't understand the fact its tactics spawn further violence.

"About a third of a mile from the house, the spreading violence stranded several civilians at the Rahma Clinic, on the main road running through Nablus and adjacent to al-Haj Maazouz Mosque. Among those present were the two killed: Shaaban and 65-year-old retiree Abdelaziz Ashqar. Injured were 36-year-old chauffeur Asaad Najjar, 22-year-old Mohammed Samaaneh and a vegetable seller who could not be reached for an interview. Shaaban, who loved learning languages, had just finished school, his father said. Unable to find a safe ride home, the teen had called his father and was waiting to be picked up. Ashqar, a former employee of the United Nations’ Palestinian refugee agency, had come to the mosque for the afternoon prayer, said his son, Elias. Najjar, who had been driving students to school earlier that day, said he had parked his car nearby to wait for things to calm down and avoid wafting tear gas. Samaaneh, a recent college graduate, had been at the clinic for an examination with a dermatologist, said his father, Hazem. The vegetable seller worked in the area. A video shot by Najjar at 12:09 p.m. shows Israeli armored vehicles maneuvering in the distance and Palestinian men setting up barricades."

Get this:

"Around 1 p.m., as Israeli forces began to withdraw from the city, a patrol of several vehicles moved toward the clinic and the mosque, looking to head off any armed fighters, a military official said. Having read about a withdrawal on social media, Shaaban, the four men, and a handful of other civilians gathered near the street. At 1:02 p.m., Farid Shaaban said, he received the call from his son, telling him where to pick the boy up. What happened next was captured in three videos. Two were previously unpublished — one from a bystander and the other filmed by the Israeli military from inside one of its vehicles. The military posted a partial clip on Twitter on the day of the raid but later provided The Post with an extended version that included the shooting. At 1:03 p.m., the bystander, standing in a clinic window, began filming the street. In the video, five Israeli armored vehicles pass by. People on the street pelt them with rocks and other objects. About 45 seconds later, more Israeli military vehicles begin to pass, the first an MDT David light armored vehicle and the second a Wolf armored personnel carrier roughly 100 feet behind. A member of the Israeli military filmed the scene from inside a vehicle behind the Wolf. As the vehicles passed, Firas Masry, a 50-year-old man living in an apartment building across from the clinic, began to film the third video from several floors above. The video was first geolocated by Gabòr Friesen, a student at Leiden University College, and Chris Osieck, a Dutch human rights researcher. Audio from the videos captures two initial bangs, the second of which can be heard as a man on the sidewalk is seen extending his arm toward the passing Israeli vehicles. The videos reviewed by The Post do not clearly show whether the man had a gun or fired, and none of the witnesses interviewed by The Post said they saw a gunman fire at the Israelis."

Fascinating, isn't it?  The Post carefully did its homework:

"Video shows the man on the sidewalk running toward and ducking through a gate, onto a staircase between the mosque and clinic where the group of civilians is sheltering. To reconstruct the incident in 3D, The Post synchronized all three videos and took more than 1,000 additional photos of the location. Troops in a Wolf armored vehicle can shoot while looking through either a window or a firing port. An Israeli military official declined to say what they did in this incident. The Post used a commercially available computer model to map the complete perspective visible from both of the Wolf’s side windows, which are covered by protective grates. The Post also analyzed the perspective from the vehicle’s firing ports, which indicated that a soldier aiming through them would have had a similar, but more restricted, view. As the man moves through the gate into the group of civilians, Israelis shoot from the vehicle. Audio from the videos captures at least 14 gunshots within four seconds, according to two forensic audio experts who analyzed it. The Post modeled the view from the windows of the Wolf armored vehicle the entire time it was shooting and found that civilians remained in the view for the duration that shots are heard."

If true, deliberate targeting of civilians.

"Israeli forces start shooting from the vehicle. The 3D reconstruction shows that the man who ran from the sidewalk and ducked behind the wall would not have been clearly visible from either window. Israeli troops continue to shoot as a civilian moves directly across the gateway and the Wolf slows in front of the staircase. As the vehicle stops, civilians behind the wall remain visible. Israeli forces continue firing. To help assess the Israeli soldiers’ claim that a gunman fired on the convoy, The Post sent audio from the videos to Lawrence Abu Hamdan of Earshot, whose audio investigations have been used as evidence at the U.K. Asylum and Immigration Tribunal, and Steven Beck, an audio forensic expert who consulted for the FBI for more than a decade. Beck said he did not believe that two bangs The Post identified preceding the fire from the armored vehicle were gunshots. Abu Hamdan said that every shot heard was “highly likely” to have been fired from the Wolf armored vehicle. Najjar, the chauffeur, was hit by shrapnel from the gunfire. He said he saw shots hit Ashqar and heard Shaaban yelling that he’d been hit. Najjar said his own decision to step down the staircase a moment earlier probably saved his life. “I did, but they couldn’t do it on time,” he said. “It was clear that it was shoot to kill.” Najjar said that even after decades living with Israeli military incursions, the shooting shocked him. “I believed that it was going to be an ordinary withdrawal of the army,” he said. An ambulance transported the five victims to An-Najah National University Hospital, where Shaaban and Ashqar were pronounced dead around 20 minutes after the shooting. Shaaban had been shot in the left shoulder and left upper arm, and Ashqar had been shot in the abdomen, according to medical reports reviewed by The Post. “That place is in the middle of the city,” Shaaban’s uncle, Alaa, said. “The Israeli army was shooting on a city, the middle of a city, at such an hour. What’s to be expected?” A military official said the decision to shoot is up to the soldier in the field. It appeared that “in this case they decided the right thing to do was to thwart the threat that they faced and that’s the decision they took,” the official said."

Not all Israelis, however, march in goose step with these murderous tactics:

"But “it’s impossible to be accurate” shooting from a moving vehicle and especially dangerous to do so in an urban environment, said Ori Givati, the advocacy director for Breaking the Silence, a group of Israeli army veterans who served in the Palestinian territories and oppose the occupation. Givati said that “constant political pressure from ultranationalist leaders,” including some who are now government ministers, as well as the lack of repercussions for killing innocent Palestinians, have created a permissive environment for Israeli soldiers. Brian Castner, a crisis researcher with Amnesty International, said that without further research he could not make a conclusive determination about the shooting, but in operations such as the raid in Nablus, Israeli forces are obligated by international human rights law to use force as a last resort and only when there is an imminent threat to life. Castner, who reviewed the videos, said that because of the protection afforded by the armored vehicles, there did not appear to be an immediate threat. Brad Parker, a senior adviser at Defense for Children International-Palestine, who also reviewed the videos, said that “unlawful killings have become the norm, suggesting that Israeli military rules of engagement have shifted over the past few years to permit live fire where no threat is posed to Israeli forces in complete contravention of international law.” Israeli forces in heavily armored vehicles fired “with complete disregard” to the Palestinian civilians standing nearby, Parker said."

As dangerous as it would certainly be, The Post and other news sources need live reporters at the scene recording all such military operations.  If the Israeli aggressor is indeed abiding by international law, it should have no objection.  The following, while certainly a step in the right direction, is not good enough:

"To re-create the location in Nablus in virtual 3D space, The Post collected more than 1,000 photos and geospatial data of the site. This data was processed in photogrammetry software Metashape and exported as a scaled 3D mesh. The Post then used perspective plotting tools alongside available location and camera lens metadata from the collected photographs and videos to add virtual cameras into the scene, matching the perspective of key visuals from different angles, and assisting in the accurate modeling of the site. The Post added a commercially built, scaled 3D model of a Wolf armored personnel carrier to the environment, embedding a camera inside that allowed the range of visibility from inside the vehicle to be determined as it moved through the scene."

ABC News(AP) reports:

"Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrated Saturday against a contentious plan to overhaul the judiciary as the government pressed ahead with the plan. The nationwide demonstrations have been a regular weekly event for more than two months. Despite the demonstrations, Netanyahu and his allies have pledged to press ahead with a series of bills that would strip the Supreme Court of its ability to review legislation and give coalition politicians control over judicial appointments."

Sadly, tragically, Netanyahu and his follow national socialists are emulating early Nazi Germany.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Critics say the changes will destroy the country’s system of checks and balances and concentrate power in the hands of the prime minister and his allies."

An autocrat who clearly does not believe in democracy.

“We are protesting because if not, it’s like compliance and we will never agree to have democracy abolished in this country," said Einat Gival-Levi, a protester. “It’s really important that we raise awareness all around the world.”

Clearly, standing tall.  Better late than never.

"Hundreds of Israeli women’s rights activists dressed as characters in the television series, “The Handmaid’s Tale,” marched to the center of Tel Aviv city to join the main protest. The uproar over the legal changes plans by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government has plunged Israel into one of its worst domestic crises. Beyond the protests, which have drawn tens of thousands of Israelis to the streets and recently became violent, opposition has surged from across society, with business leaders and legal officials speaking out against what they say will be the ruinous effects of the plan."

When will the U.S. citizenry finally wake up to the threat posed by the nazi element in the Republican Party to democracy and liberty?  When will Democrats effectively challenge this exigent threat?  To date, have egregiously failed.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"On Thursday, Netanyahu had to be airlifted to the country’s main international airport for an overseas trip after throngs of cars and protesters prevented him from driving there. The rift has not spared Israel’s military, which is seeing unprecedented opposition from within its own ranks."

When will the U.S. military similarly, finally wake up to the exigent threat posed by the nazi element in the Republican Party?

"Critics also say Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption, is driven by personal grievances and that he could find an escape route from the charges through the overhaul. Netanyahu denies wrongdoing and says the legal changes have nothing to do with his trial."

Like the Trump nazi, Netanyahu is a congenital liar.  Presents an exigent threat to democracy.

"The protests have been largely dominated by the country’s secular middle class. Israel’s Palestinian minority, which makes up some 20% of the population, have been largely absent, in part because they suffer from discrimination in Israel and and because of Israel’s treatment of their Palestinian brethren in the West Bank and Gaza."

Sad, isn't it?  Yet, the United States continues to provide the Israeli aggressor with weaponry and financial aid no matter what war crimes it commits.

The Associated Press reports:

"The Israeli parliament on Monday advanced a bill that would make it harder to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the corruption charges against him, as it plowed ahead with a broader plan to overhaul the country’s legal system in defiance of mass protests. Lawmakers in the Knesset gave preliminary approval during a late-night vote on the bill, which would allow the parliament to declare a prime minister unfit to rule only for physical or mental reasons. The body was expected to vote later on a measure that would allow the Knesset to overrule Supreme Court rulings and enact laws that had been struck down. Both bills require additional votes before being enshrined into law. The steps were the latest in a series of moves by Netanyahu’s coalition to overhaul Israel’s legal system. The prime minister and his allies say the effort is aimed at reining in an activist court. Critics say the drive would upend the country’s democratic checks and balances and concentrate power in the hands of Netanyahu and his parliamentary majority."

Highly reminiscent of the Trump nazi, isn't it?  LOL.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Netanyahu and his ultranationalist and religious coalition allies have pledged to plow ahead with the legal changes despite demonstrations by tens of thousands of Israeli protesters over the past two months. Business leaders, legal experts and retired military leaders have joined the protests, and Israeli reservists have threatened to stop reporting for duty if the overhaul passes."

When will Americans finally stand up to Trump and the nazi element in the Republican Party?

"In a late-night vote, the Knesset moved forward a bill that would protect Netanyahu from calls to oust him, replacing current law that opens the door for a leader to be removed under other circumstances. The new bill would require approval by three-quarters of the government, and could be overridden by the prime minister. The measure has personal importance to Netanyahu, who returned to power late last year after Israel’s fifth election in under four years. He is on trial on charges of fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes, and denies the allegations. The proceedings have dragged on for nearly three years. Good governance groups and other critics have called on the country’s attorney general to deem Netanyahu unfit for office. Speaking to members of his Likud party on Monday, Netanyahu lashed out at the Israeli media, saying they are broadcasting a “never ending tsunami of fake news” against him. He reiterated his claim that the legal overhaul will strengthen Israeli democracy."

Like the Trump nazi, Netanyahu is a congenital liar looking out for his own sorry ass.

"Opposition lawmaker Orna Barbivai said the bill was “a disgrace, which says the the prime minister is above the law.”

Sounds remarkably similar to the views of Trump supporters, doesn't it?  That is, the former president is supposedly above the law.  LOL.

"Israel’s Palestinian minority, which makes up some 20% of the population, has been largely absent from the protests, in part because they suffer from discrimination in Israel and and because of Israel’s treatment of their Palestinian brethren in the West Bank and Gaza."

... Clearly, the Israelis are far from perfect.  At least, they're standing up to their dictator and the exigent threat he presents to their democracy.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
