Readers are again cautioned this is not an investigation regarding
the guilt or innocence of Mirelez family members. Rather, it is an
expose of unconstitutional highly abusive tactics used by NET
"officers" in the "performance" of their "duties".
Evaristo Mirelez, 49, is a diabetic suffering from acute renal
failure and undergoes dialysis three times weekly in Austin. He asserts
his organ damage is extensive and will not consider a kidney
transplant. In addition, Mr. Mirelez has severe foot problems related
to his diabetic condition, and has considerable difficulty walking.
Maria Limon Mirelez, 56, his wife, has heart problems and is on
nitroglycerine. Both she and her husband are disabled and get by as
best they can, -- with financial assistance from their sons and
daughter. The children are gainfully employed.
At approximately 7:00AM, Thursday morning, February 15, 2001, Mr.
Mirelez was seated in the living room of his home. His wife, in the
kitchen, was preparing a bagged lunch for their son, Ismael, 18, who
was about to get up for work. Suddenly, the front door was kicked in by
heavily-armed men dressed in street clothes. No uniforms. No badges. No
insignia. No verbal identification of who they were. No knock. -- Just
a kicked-in front door, "dynamic entry".
Several unidentified marauders stormed the residence and dragged Ismael
from his bedroom to the living room, cuffing him temporarily to a
fixture. Ismael was then roughly removed from the residence and shoved
out the door. Clad only in his boxer shorts, he was forced to stand
barefoot in the rain on a cold winter morning, -- despite pleas from
his frantic parents and a history of pneumonia.
While the first residence was raided, Mr. Mirelez repeatedly asked
NET thugs for arrest and search warrants. Before being hauled to jail,
NET Sergeant Brent Nichols crumpled up a single sheet of paper and
threw it at the chest of the cuffed father, obscenely telling him what
he could do with it. Later, the document was never found.
Readers are reminded Nichols was demoted from Co-Commander to Sergeant
over a year ago, allegedly for "administrative" reasons. Credible
sources have strongly asserted, however, this extremely abusive goon
repeatedly failed drug tests and was strongly suspected of using
narcotics.
Worse yet, NET lost cases when Nichols essentially pleaded the Fifth
while on the stand, testifying in regard to other unrelated matters.
Interesting, isn't it? ... Nothing quite like the kettle calling the
pot black, no?
Readers are reminded Ole' Brent was never investigated by District
Attorney Sam "The Sham" Oatman. -- Apparently, this abusive thug had
too much on his equally corrupt fellow "officers". ... Right, Sam?
The dear Ole' Sergeant relieved the elder Mirelez of $725.00 cash
present in his pocket. -- Cash, Evaristo received from his employed
children to be used for the mortgage and other expenses. Worse yet, the
heavily-armed goon disingenuously and falsely asserted a fifty-dollar
bill bore his mark and was in fact spent by Nichols himself to purchase
drugs from a non-running car located on the Mirelez property.
... Hey, Brent? This makes no sense. The car has not run for quite some
time. More pointedly, why in hell would anyone from the Mirelez family
sell to you? After all, you're a well-known commodity. -- With a
well-earned reputation to boot. Sadly, you wouldn't know truth if it
bit you hard on the ass, would you, sir? Equally pointedly, how do you
sleep nights? ... Almost forgot. -- It's the "medication", right?
Before continuing coverage of the first Mirelez residence raided,
this publication has been provided access by the family to the
Thirty-Third Judicial District Narcotics Enforcement Team Inventory
Control Form. Consider the following:
A triple-beam balance scale, plastic food scale, and plastic bags
were taken. ... Drug paraphernalia and "packaging materials"? The elder
Mirelez is suffering from renal failure and is required by his
physicians to weigh food to make sure he ingests proper quantities of
different food groups. Excessive protein, for example, can be
dangerous.
A "syringe in box with scale" was also taken. Mr. Mirelez, as a
diabetic, injects himself with medication. -- Syringes and medication
prescribed by his physicians. NET goons, however, as part of the
trashing of the first residence, tore open a new package of needles and
deliberately scattered them across the carpetry, creating a hazard for
two grandchildren who constantly crawl across the floor.
Other items on the Inventory Control Form seem to be unrelated to a
bona fide drug investigation. They will be disclosed, however, after
access to the complaint affidavits, arrest, and search warrants is
provided by NET.
Readers should understand the first Mirelez residence was
thoroughly trashed by NET goons. Dresser drawers were damaged. Personal
belongings strewn all over the floor. The most despicable act of
vandalism by NET thugs, however, was the destruction of religious
artifacts.
As a devout Roman Catholic, Mrs. Mirelez had set up a religious shrine
or sanctuary in her bedroom. NET goons apparently took perverse
pleasure in heavily damaging the shrine, -- cracking open religious
statues. ... Looking for drugs???
If so, why weren't drug dogs allowed to peruse all residences and
out-buildings at the 690 Midland St. address prior to commencement of
the "search"? Outrageously simple answer. NET thugs were apparently
afraid they would find no narcotics. If not, how else could these
jackbooted Nazis justify trashing the homes and arrests of six family
members?
NO arrested family members were present during the "search",
however. Apparently, they had already been transported to jail. That,
combined with the fact no drug dogs were used, calls into question
public NET assertions methamphetamines, cocaine, and marijuana were
indeed "discovered". Most pointedly, "Boys", how the hell would you
know for sure until anything "discovered" was chemically analyzed? --
Unless, of course, you planted it?
Equally pointedly, why in hell is NET making public announcements
regarding what was allegedly found? -- Trying to poison the jury pool?
Most pointedly, whatever the hell happened to the idea of a "fair"
trial? -- Just convict 'em, right, Sam? ... Another notch on the ole'
belt, no? Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments? What the hell
are they?
Good officers, making good busts, don't plant contraband, wantonly
trash residences, ignore constitutional rights, or abuse those
arrested. Then again, we're talking about a Nazi police agency known as
the Narcotics Enforcement Team. Justice? What the hell's that, right,
Brent? Sam?
The second Mirelez residence raided belonged to Adam, 23, his wife
April, and their two toddlers. Having suddenly kicked in the door
without warning, heavily-armed NET thugs hurriedly proceeded to the
master bedroom. "Dynamic entry". No knock. No identification as police
"officers". Dragging Adam from bed and out the door, he was forced to
stand barefoot in the rain, in his boxer shorts. April, not cuffed or
arrested, was allowed to care for her two children as NET goons
ransacked her residence. The home was thoroughly trashed.
The elder Mirelez has repeatedly asserted the "search" of all family
residences was nothing more than a trashing. ... Clothing removed from
closets was thrown on the floor in piles, -- without pockets being
rifled. Folded blankets were dumped, -- without being opened and
"searched". In addition to drawers being damaged, the dresser was
knocked over clothes strewn on the floor. -- A ransacking designed to
be no more than intimidation by a Nazi police agency.
Coverage of NET ransacking of Mirelez residences will continue in the
next Newsletter, March 12, 2001. Posting will begin shortly. Look for
it.
Continuing coverage of Llano Memorial Healthcare System (LMHS)
employee "expense reports", another $1674.52 was found in vouchers
drawn by former Administrator/CEO Ernie Parisi. -- Most of it
"disability insurance". An additional $238.85 was spent on seminar
expenses.
Another $175 was squandered on "Special Needs", -- employee "hardship"
grants. Interestingly, one of these employees received $125 after her
estranged husband turned off the electricity. The other, $50, after her
spouse had surgery in Austin.
Another $25 was spent on Christmas decorations. One employee
received a $768.76 reimbursement for a CRNA contract, -- whatever the
hell that is. Hospital management saw fit to squander $45 on gift
certificates for Cooper's BBQ. An "Employee of the Fourth Quarter"
received $25.
An "Employee of the Year" received $500. ... That's right, friends,
$500. Mary Rhodes, Director of Community Relations, drew $2312.91 in
expense vouchers. ... That's in addition to what has already been
reported earlier for her.
Although far from complete, the grand total so far in employee
"expense reports" is a whopping $97,801.52, -- for a period less than
the last two years. As reported in the last Newsletter, Hospital Board
members have ignored looting by EMTs and other Hospital employees. In
fact, tax districts appear to be the "solution" of choice for greedy
Hospital officials. Interesting, isn't it?
The following Open Records Request was recently sent to LMHS:

Re: Open Records Request
Dear Mr. Durr:
As per posted Public Information Act notice on bulletin board in
LMHS Administrative offices located on 103 W. Lampasas St., Llano, Tx.
78643, this is an e-mailed request for information under the Texas
Public Information Act, Ch.552, Gov't Code, Public Information.
Access to the following documents is respectfully requested:
1. All documents, correspondence, e-mails, notes, and/or telephone logs
related to the "detailed FTE Process" completed by Mike Oatman as
described in Section III of Llano Bay Health Care 501C(3) Confidential
Committee Minutes dated November 13, 2000.
In regard to Llano Bay Health Care 501C(3) Confidential Committee
Minutes and Llano County Hospital Authority Confidential Committee
Minutes dated November 17, 2000, both sets of minutes are in fact
identical with the exception of the attendees. Was there indeed a joint
meeting? The minutes of both Boards do not indicate such. Was this an
oversight, or is there indeed another explanation?
This e-mailed request is in keeping with the policy posted on your
bulletin board and will certainly save time and effort for all. Thank
you in advance for your cooperation in a matter that is of great
concern to my readers.
Sincerely,

As strongly asserted in Special Edition V65, the clock is indeed
ticking... The combined visitor count of The Llano Ledger and Llano
Ledger 2 stands in excess of 77,900, -- another excellent week and true
testament to the shameless willingness of the readership to "steal"
this writer's labor. Certainly, you ought to be proud of yourselves.
Nothing quite like "character", is there? Readers are reminded this
writer receives no renumeration from the banner and pop-up advertising.
They only pay for the website itself. There is no personal
compensation, nor are there desperately needed funds for investigative
expenses. Non-profit and outrageously unfunded by the readership it
serves due to greed, gut-wrenching fear, and the continuing relentless
intimidation of corrupt and abusive Llano County officials, this
publication as always remains beholden to NO ONE.
