... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco? That right, Bill? Isn't that obstruction of justice? Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene? If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression? When will you do your job, Bill? As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget? -- No honor? ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution? Why aren't you doing so? No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority. What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint? Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation? The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise. Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints. Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it? Failed to do their jobs. No surprise there, right, Bill? Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene? Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County. Bottom line? Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation. Conveniently, forget? This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting. Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.? List can go on and on. Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do? Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff? Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner? To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property. Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression? Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit? He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights? Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property. Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property. Coup de grace? When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane. Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing. Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff? You're not fit for office, Bill. Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property? Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked. Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise. Back up Berardi. Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights. Why? Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road. Imagine that. Madam County Attorney well-aware. Has done nothing. Shit squat. Egregiously ignored her oath of office. Someone bribing you, Becky? Lining your pockets, Counselor? Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi? Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own. Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases. As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County. Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black. The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position. It's not? Why not? You claim you're not a real estate expert. Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked. Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe? Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation. Apparently, there has been none. If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner? To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for. Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot. Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot. Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved. Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back? To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road? Why hasn't she been evicted by the County? Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens? Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery? Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue. For what? Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon. Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County. Not a chance. It's time the public be fully informed. -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County. If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone. ... Right, Sheriff? TL? "Sonny Boy?" Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why. This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet. Ignored. The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us. They can't be. They've lied too many times. Refuse to be accountable to anyone. We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity. This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement. This also has to change. No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer. No one. No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar. There was no justice there. None here. None anywhere. Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers. Court fees charged continue to be horrendous. -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs? Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs? Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit. This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise. Nothing was done. There has to be transparency. There is none. Why would these thieving bastards want any? ... Right, Sheriff? TL? How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity? Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons. Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so. That is, where they came from. Why they left where they were. What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards. Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments. Why? So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated? This has to change. ... Can't have that, can we? Sheriff? TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up. Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own? The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers. Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently? Guess what? Nothing will happen. Nothing ever does. The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities. Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally. Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for. Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit. Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web. Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff? TL? "Sonny Boy?" Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town. Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff? TL? "Sonny Boy?" Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure. We're just getting started, Sheriff. You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend. -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception. On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe. She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop. She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office. Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it. Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this? Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following. It's appalling. Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for. No longer.

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news. Received an award. The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road. To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property. All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764. The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago. The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question. How much were they bribed?

Another execution perpetrated by the jackbooted bastards in blue. NBC News reports:

"The mother of a young Detroit man shot more than a dozen times by police during a mental health crisis filed a $50 million lawsuit against the city and five unidentified officers. Quieauna Wilson’s attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, filed the suit on Tuesday, telling reporters at a news conference that Porter Burks was "executed" on Oct. 1 by officers. "There’s absolutely no excuse for the execution of Porter Burks under the facts and circumstances of this case. The Detroit police had a myriad of alternatives available other than executing him by firing squad," Fieger said, the Detroit Free Press reported."

Happens all across this country. Called 'shoot first, ask questions later.' Saddest of all? When it happens to the mentally ill:

"The lawsuit, obtained by NBC News, described Burks, 20, as someone who liked to dance and listen to music but said he had struggled with his mental health since high school. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and had been in and out of the hospital for treatment, the lawsuit said, noting that either his family or Detroit police officers would take him there. When he had an episode, Burks would hallucinate and hear voices that were not really there. "He could respond normally" when he was on medication, the lawsuit said."

Get this:

"On Oct. 1, one day before the shooting, Burks went to his family's home "agitated and with a pocketknife in his possession," according to the suit. Wilson told him he could not come inside with the knife and called Detroit police to ask for help getting her son to the hospital. Fieger previously said that the knife was 3½ inches long. Burks left the home before police arrived, but returned around 4 a.m. the following day with the pocketknife. The lawsuit said that Burks' brother told him he could not come into the home and called police for help. Burks again left the home before officers arrived, but this time police told the family they would look for him and take him to the hospital. Burks' brother informed officers that the 20-year-old was in the midst of a mental health crisis and only had a pocketknife on him, the lawsuit said. Officers found Burks minutes later walking through a residential neighborhood. Detroit Police Chief James White released partial body camera video last month showing officers speaking to Burks."

Why only "partial body camera video?" Hiding something? Protecting and coddling your jackbooted officers? Wake up, Chief.

"For several minutes, the officers appeared patient and asked him to drop the knife so they can talk or give him a ride home. When Burks refused to drop the knife, an officer responded, "Can I ask why not?" "I don’t want to talk," Burks appeared to say. "I just want to get some rest."

Law enforcement was clearly covering its sorry ass:

"The edited video did not show the moment Burks was shot. In the moments before, he appeared to be waving his hands above his head before moving quickly toward the officers. Fieger said in the lawsuit that police fired 38 rounds at Burks."

Readers are reminded unarmed United States Marines are trained to disarm an enemy combatant who attacks them with a knife or bayonet. Police can certainly use a baton, stun gun, or pepper spray to protect themselves and arrest the perpetrator under such circumstances.

"In a statement Tuesday, White called Burks' death a "tragic event."

Empty, hollow, meaningless rhetoric, Chief, -- as you callously protect and defend your jackbooted bastards in blue who perpetrated an execution of this mentally ill man.

"The Department will continue to advocate for greater resources for the mental health community and will take every opportunity to improve its response to people suffering from mental illness," he said. "We firmly believe that if appropriate mental health facilities and treatment plans had been available, this situation may have been avoided. Regrettably, the DPD remains the primary emergency response service for individuals suffering from mental health emergencies."

Had your officers been properly trained, this murderous catastrophe could have been avoided, Chief. Time to figuratively remove your head from your achingly clueless ass.

"All five officers, who have not been named, are on routine administrative leave, according to the Detroit Police Department."

A paid vacation? Why haven't they been identified? The public is entitled to this information, -- that is, the right to know the identity of its oppressors.

"The city said it could not comment on pending litigation."

"The lawsuit said that Burks was "confused" when officers — "most of whom had their firearms drawn and pointed toward him" — approached him. "At the moment mentally ill Porter Burks took a step forward with his hands raised above his head in a non-threatening manner, and while standing approximately 50 feet away from Defendant Officers" he was shot, it said."

-- If that's how it went down, it's called murder. Indeed, an execution:

"A Wayne County medical examiner's report, released by the family's attorney, said that Burks had been shot 19 times including six in the chest and two in the head. The cause of death was from multiple gunshot wounds and the manner was listed as a homicide, the medical examiner ruled. The family accused the five officers of gross negligence, assault and battery and wanton and willful misconduct. The city is accused of violating both the state’s Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act and the Freedom of Information Act."

Pitiful. Think things will ever change?

"A white police officer who fatally shot a Black driver during a struggle inside a car in 2017 must pay his family $4.4 million."

"An Ohio jury made the award Tuesday, finding that Euclid officer Matthew Rhodes acted recklessly when he climbed into 23-year-old Luke Stewart’s car and shot him as Stewart drove away. The shooting had inflamed racial tensions in Euclid, a Cleveland suburb, and a grand jury declined to indict Rhodes after hearing evidence from prosecutors."

Protected and coddled by prosecutors whose first allegiance was to the murderous jackbooted bastards in blue, certainly, not justice. To say nothing of their oaths of office to uphold the law and United States Constitution.

"The jury's finding stemmed from a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Stewart’s mother. The panel said Rhodes must pay Stewart’s family $3.9 million for the loss of his support and companionship and $500,000 for the pain and suffering he went through. But Rhodes will not have to pay punitive damages to the family or attorney’s fees."

Outrageous. Think giving this bastard a break will discourage other jackbooted bastards in blue from doing the same? ... Or, simply, further encourage such murderous, abusive behavior.

"The family's attorneys told Cleveland.com that the verdict provided long-awaited accountability for what happened to Stewart."

Think so? Truly, believe it?

"A lawyer representing Rhodes did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

"Stewart’s family had filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city and the officer, but a trial court dismissed the case, and an appeals court agreed, saying there was no clearly established law barring the officer’s conduct. The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case in a decision made in May 2021."

Jesus Christ. We've lost this country. Law enforcement remains out of control. An exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties. Adolf and Benito must be wildly cheering from their fiery perches.

"Stewart’s family had contended in that lawsuit that police training in the city “encouraged, or at least condoned, excessive force.” The training included the use of a sketch by comedian Chris Rock, in which he gave “tips” on how to avoid being beaten by police, and cartoons allegedly making light of police violence."

No justice. Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases. Total independence. The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

More of the same. Think it will ever end? The Associated Press reports:

"As the former captain in charge of the Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, Cory Palka was a star himself. The towering cop with a telegenic smile hobnobbed with celebrities getting stars on the Walk of Fame, ran security for the Oscars awards show and even landed a bit part playing himself on the television drama “Bosch” about a talented but troubled maverick LAPD detective."

That's not all. Get this. It's appalling:

"But Palka’s ties to the entertainment industry were under scrutiny Thursday after prosecutors said he leaked a sexual assault victim’s confidential police report to CBS and its former leader Les Moonves, who was accused in the case and whom Palka once provided security for, raising questions about where his allegiances lay."

How about that? Goddamned outrageous.

"The LAPD said it was conducting an internal affairs investigation into Palka’s conduct — he retired in 2021 as a commander — and the state attorney general was probing any criminal elements after a report said he conspired with CBS to conceal sexual assault allegations against Moonves. The report, which didn’t name Palka, was part of a settlement announced Wednesday by New York Attorney General Letitia James in which CBS and Moonves, its former president, agreed to pay $30.5 million. About $6 million is going sexual assault and harassment programs and the rest to shareholders kept in the dark while executives tried to prevent allegations from becoming public."

No one criminally prosecuted, convicted, and imprisoned?

"At least one executive privy to an internal investigation about Moonves’ conduct sold millions of dollars of stock before the allegations against Moonves became public, which the attorney general’s office said amounted to insider trading."

Yet, no one criminally prosecuted, convicted, and imprisoned? Two systems of justice? One for the top of the food chain, -- the other for the rest of us?

"Weeks after the #MeToo movement erupted with sex abuse allegations against film mogul Harvey Weinstein in 2017, Phyllis Golden-Gottlieb reported to police in the Hollywood Division that she had been sexually assaulted by Moonves in 1986 and 1988 when they worked together at Lorimar Productions, the studio behind “Dallas” and “Knots Landing.” A law enforcement official briefed on the matter confirmed that Golden-Gottlieb, who died this summer, was the woman involved. The official was not authorized to speak publicly and did so on condition of anonymity. Jim Gottleib, Golden-Gottlieb’s son, said in an email to The Associated Press that New York investigators had contacted him a few times over the last year. He said he didn’t think his mother felt ignored by the LAPD at the time and had been satisfied that her report had contributed to Moonves’ downfall. “She was never looking for money — she just didn’t want him to get away with what he did,” Jim Gottleib wrote. Gottleib also said Palka’s misconduct felt like old stories where officers were in cahoots with organized crime. “We would like to think the police are looking out for us, the victims, and not the perpetrators,” he wrote. “Perhaps the entertainment industry is Los Angeles’ criminal organization that the LAPD feels they need to protect.”

Sad, isn't it?

The following is a problem, a most serious problem:

"Attorney Gloria Allred, who represented Golden-Gottlieb, said in nearly a half-century of legal practice, she had never heard of police tipping off a suspect to an investigation and said it could have a chilling effect on other women coming forward to report abuse. “It’s very, very disturbing,” Allred said. “It’s really outrageous if they did that. And I have to ask, what were their motives if that, in fact occurred? Why were they, for example, trying to curry favor with CBS? Did they receive anything in return?”

Good question. Certainly, needs to be fully investigated.

"Golden-Gottlieb went public with her accusations at the time Ronan Farrow reported on allegations against Moonves in The New Yorker in September 2018. Within hours of that publication, Moonves quit. Several hours after Golden-Gottlieb made her report — which was marked “confidential” in three places — Palka tipped off CBS, the report said. Palka then met personally with Moonves and another CBS executive. The New York AG’s report said the complainant had requested confidentiality. It cited the California Constitution, which prohibits disclosure of confidential information to “a defendant, a defendant’s attorney, or any other person acting on behalf of the defendant that could be used to locate or harass the victim or the victim’s family.” The captain told CBS that he instructed police officers investigating the complaint to “admonish” the woman not to go to the media with her allegations. He also put CBS officials in touch with the lead investigator."

Goddamned outrageous, if true.

Gets worse. Get this:

"CBS immediately went into damage control mode, with an executive alerting a member of the news staff to stay close to the phone because they “have a situation.” He told another staffer not to miss any messages and added: “I wouldn’t bother you if this wasn’t serious.” They began drafting different statements about Golden-Gottlieb and consulted with an outside public relations firm about potential fallout, the report said. When the allegations ultimately became public, Palka sent a note to a CBS contact saying, “We worked so hard to try to avoid this day.” He sent Moonves a note saying he was sorry and, “I will always stand with, by and pledge my allegiance to you.”

Jesus Christ. Pitiful. Pathetic.

"From 2008 to 2014, Palka had provided private security for Moonves at the Grammy Awards, which CBS produced. Patti Giggans, executive director of the nonprofit Peace Over Violence in Los Angeles, said her organization’s advocates who work directly with the LAPD, including the Hollywood Division, were stunned by the news. She said she expects the scandal to have long-lasting repercussions, beyond victims who might be afraid to report assaults to the LAPD, as her advocates now reevaluate the relationships they have built up with local detectives. In Hollywood, Palka who stands well over 6 feet (2 meters) tall, was a public figure. He was a frequent presence on the Walk of Fame, posing with celebrities like Lynda Carter, Jack Black, Carrie Underwood and Stacy Keach. He was personally thanked during Mark Hamill’s star ceremony and posed with Hamill, Harrison Ford and George Lucas. He was honored in 2019 as one of the Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation’s “Heroes of Hollywood.” The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which runs the Walk of Fame star ceremonies, declined to comment."

Not possible to credibly defend the indefensible. So gutlessly say nothing? Pitiful.

"An attorney for Moonves and CBS did not return requests for comment Thursday, nor did Palka. Palka’s LinkedIn profile said he was incident commander at the Academy Awards and “numerous high profile events related to the entertainment industry.” The Los Angeles County district attorney declined to file criminal charges against Moonves in 2018, saying the statute of limitations had expired."

No justice.

"Moonves acknowledged having relations with three of his accusers, but said they were consensual. He denied attacking anyone, saying in a statement at the time that “Untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me.”

Think so?

'To protect and serve?' Think so? ABC News(AP) reports:

"A jury convicted a former New York City police officer on Friday of second-degree murder in the death of his 8-year-old son, who was forced to sleep overnight on the concrete floor of a freezing garage."

Re-read the above. Let it sink in.

"Michael Valva was found guilty of four counts of child endangerment and faces a maximum potential sentence of 25 years to life. Thomas Valva died in January 2020, the day after sleeping in the garage in the family’s Long Island home in temperatures that dropped under 20 degrees (minus 6 Celsius). Friday’s verdict came on the first day of deliberations after a month’s worth of testimony. A medical examiner ruled the boy’s death a homicide and found that hypothermia was a major contributing factor. Prosecutors said Thomas and his 10-year-old brother were both on the autism spectrum and were at times forced to sleep in the garage."

What could this bastard possibly been thinking? Did he perversely believe severe punishment would change the behavior of someone with psychological issues? Hell, it doesn't even change the behavior of the criminal element in our formerly great country. If it did, the recidivism rate wouldn't be as high as it is. Are the views of this former officer widely shared in the law enforcement community? If so, there is no hope of desperately needed change in police behavior any time soon.

"According to prosecutors, the boys spent 16 consecutive hours in the freezing garage leading up to the 8-year-old's death, Newsday reported. Prosecutors also alleged Michael Valva did nothing to help him as the boy died in front of him and then lied to police and first responders."

Appalling.

Get this:

"The child endangerment counts stemmed from the beating and starving of both boys. Their teachers testified the boys came to school with bruises and often were so hungry they ate crumbs off the floor, according to the newspaper."

Jesus Christ. Others clearly knew there was ongoing serious abuse. Why did this bastard have custody?

“While there is nothing that we can do to bring Thomas back, we are satisfied with the jury’s decision,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said in a statement. “Michael Valva subjected his sons to horrific abuse, neglect and cruelty. He will now pay for cutting short the life of a young, innocent, defenseless boy who had a lifetime ahead of him.”

Where the hell were you, law enforcement, and other members of the community, neighborhood, the school, etc., when all this was going on?

"Valva’s then-fiancee, Angela Pollina, also faces child endangerment and second-degree murder counts and is awaiting trial. She has pleaded not guilty."

Has an investigation occurred vis a vis Valva's behavior as an officer while on duty?

Think you've heard it all? You haven't. LOL. ABC News(AP) reports:

"A Southern California police officer was arrested for firing his gun into the air several times in a tavern's parking lot after drinking with his friends, authorities said. San Bernardino Police Officer Fidel Ocampo-Rodarte, who was off-duty at the time, fired his service weapon multiple times about 2 a.m. Sunday, then fled the tavern in Blue Jay, the San Bernardino Police Department said in a tweet Monday night. Ocampo-Rodarte turned himself in hours later and was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, the police department said in a news release. He was put on administrative leave."

... A paid vacation? -- At least, he wasn't protected and coddled by a department that looked the other way.

"It was not immediately clear whether the officer, who has been with the police department for three years, had an attorney who could speak on his behalf. The shooting was captured on surveillance cameras, police said. Authorities found multiple firearms at Ocampo-Rodarte's home during a search warrant. “The conduct is not something that is fitting of a San Bernardino police officer, or any officer for that matter,” San Bernardino Police Chief Darren Goodman said in a news release."

No question.

More impressive? It would have been easy for the Chief to have simply looked the other way considering the following:

"Blue Jay is an unincorporated community in the San Bernardino Mountains about 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of San Bernandino."

To his credit, the Chief stood tall.

No end to it. In follow-up to a case covered earlier here and elsewhere, ABC News(AP) reports:

"A former Kansas City police detective convicted of shooting and killing a Black man in 2019 is asking that his conviction be overturned or that he be given a new trial. Jackson County Circuit Judge Dale Youngs convicted Eric DeValkenaere in March of involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Cameron Lamb on Dec. 3, 2019. DeValkenaere, who is white, and his partner shot Lamb within seconds of arriving at a home where Lamb lived. They had followed him after reports of several traffic violations. Lamb was backing a pickup truck into a garage when he was shot. In announcing the conviction, Youngs said the detectives violated Lamb’s constitutional rights because they had no probable cause to believe he had committed a crime, had no warrant for Lamb’s arrest and had no search warrant or consent to be on the property."

Get this:

"In a motion filed Oct. 27 with the Missouri Court of Appeals, DeValkenaere's attorneys argued that DeValkenaere and his partner had probable cause to be on Lamb's property and to arrest him for the traffic violations, The Kansas City Star reported. They also argued that police did not trespass on private property, were not the “initial aggressors” and that Lamb's death was a lawful use of force by a police officer."

Day is night, night is day, and shit smells perversely sweet in the world of at least some in the legal community.

"DeValkenaere testified that he shot Lamb to save his partner's life because he believed Lamb had a firearm. Lamb’s family has said he was not armed and that a gun found at the scene was planted. DeValkenaere was sentenced to three years for involuntary manslaughter and six years for armed criminal action, with the sentences to run consecutively. He has been allowed to remain free while his conviction is appealed."

Why special treatment not accorded the public had the roles vis a vis shooter and victim been reversed?

"DeValkenaere was suspended from the police force after his conviction and left the force in January. Police have not said if he was fired, resigned or retired."

Why not? The public is entitled to this information. Pays the salaries and benefits of these goons.

U.S. Supreme Court continues to determinedly move backward. Determinedly. NBC News reports:

"The Supreme Court on Monday declined over the objection of two justices to decide whether defendants facing serious criminal charges are legally entitled to a 12-person jury, rejecting an appeal from an Arizona man convicted of fraud by a jury of just eight people."

Remarkably, surprisingly, those two justices happen to be Republican partisans. Usually, quite fascist in their ideology and agenda. Not this time, however.

"The decision not to take up the appeal brought by defendant Ramin Khorrami means states can continue to use six- or eight-person juries for felony offenses. Arizona and five other states — Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts and Utah — allow the practice. Florida, the third most populous state, uses six-person juries for all non-death penalty-eligible criminal cases. Conservative Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh said they would have taken up the case, with Gorsuch writing a 10-page dissenting opinion taking aim at the Supreme Court's 1970 decision that said juries could be as small as six people. "For almost all of this nation’s history and centuries before that, the right to trial by jury for serious criminal offenses meant the right to a trial before 12 members of the community," Gorsuch wrote. That changed with the 1970 ruling, which was based on social science, not law, he added. "That mistake continues to undermine the integrity of the nation’s judicial proceedings and deny the American people a liberty their predecessors long and justly considered inviolable," Gorsuch wrote."

For once, he's quite correct. LOL. Sounds remarkably liberal as well. ... Couldn't be, could it? LOL.

"Khorrami’s lawyers argue that the Constitution’s Sixth Amendment guarantee to trial by jury, a bedrock legal principal, necessarily requires 12 people, a tradition that dates from medieval England to the current age. A 12-person jury is a common feature in dramatic depictions of criminal trials, such as the 1957 classic film "12 Angry Men." On a related issue, the court ruled in 2020 that the right to trial by jury requires a unanimous verdict for serious crimes, a decision that overturned a 1972 Supreme Court ruling and ended the practice of allowing convictions by divided juries in two outlier states, Louisiana and Oregon. The Sixth Amendment does not specifically say how many people are required to serve on a jury, but Khorrami's lawyers say it would have been assumed at the time it was written to refer to a 12-person jury."

The criminal in this case, however, was indeed no knight in shining white armor. Get this:

"Khorrami was convicted of fraud and theft over a scheme dating back to 2013 involving a married woman with whom he had a relationship. He threatened to expose the affair to the woman’s husband if she did not pay him $40,000. The woman, whose name was not revealed in court papers, ultimately paid $34,000 before telling her husband what had happened, prompting a criminal investigation. The jury convicted Khorrami on both counts and he was sentenced to two months in jail and supervised probation. An intermediate state appeals court upheld Khorrami’s convictions in July 2021. In February of this year, the Arizona Supreme Court declined to hear Khorrami’s case."

Two months in jail for a $34,000 ripoff?

Judge sticks it to Trump. The Associated Press reports:

"A Manhattan judge said Thursday he will appoint an independent monitor for former President Donald Trump’s real estate empire, restricting his company’s ability to freely make deals, sell assets and change its corporate structure."

What took so long?

"Judge Arthur Engoron ordered the outside watchdog for the Trump Organization as he presides over a lawsuit in which New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges Trump and the company routinely misled banks and others about the value of prized assets, including golf courses and hotels bearing his name. James’ office says the Trump Organization is continuing to engage in fraud and has taken steps to dodge potential penalties from the lawsuit, such as incorporating a new entity in Delaware named Trump Organization LLC — almost identical to the original company’s name — in September, just before the lawsuit was filed."

Outrageously brazen, isn't it?

"Engoron, in an 11-page order, barred the Trump Organization from selling or transferring any noncash assets without giving the court and James’ office 14 days notice. The to-be-named monitor will be charged with ensuring the company’s compliance and will immediately report any violations to the court and lawyers for both sides. The Trump Organization must also grant the monitor access to its financial statements, asset valuations and other disclosures, must provide a full and accurate description of the company’s structure and must give the monitor at least 30 days notice of any potential restructuring, refinancing or asset sales, Engoron said. The company must also pay for the monitor, he said."

Readers will recall:

"Engoron’s decision to appoint a monitor is just the latest ruling he’s made against Trump or his interest. While presiding over disputes over subpoenas issued in James’ investigation, the judge, a Democrat, held Trump in contempt and fined him $110,000 after he was slow to turn over documents, and he forced him to sit for a deposition. In that testimony, Trump invoked his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination more than 400 times. James, a Democrat, is seeking $250 million and a permanent ban on Trump, a Republican, doing business in the state. In the interim, she wants an independent monitor to review and sign off on some of the company’s core business decisions, including any asset sales or transfers and potential corporate restructuring. “Our goal in doing this is not to impact the day-to-day operations of the Trump Organization,” said James’ senior enforcement counsel, Kevin Wallace. He said the desired oversight would be “limited” and wouldn’t involve intricacies, such as how many rounds of golf or hotel rooms they were booking in a given year."

“The Trump Organization has a persistent record of not complying with existing court orders,” Wallace said. “It should not be incumbent on the court or the attorney general to spend the next year looking over their shoulder, making sure assets aren’t sold or the company restructured.” Trump sued James in Florida on Wednesday, seeking to block her from having any oversight over the family trust that controls his company. If banks that loaned Trump money felt he or the company had acted improperly, they would have spoken up, Kise said. “There’s no problem. There’s no case here,” Kise said. “It’s mind-numbing that we’re going to have a receiver insert himself or herself into these complex transactions instead of the owner of this real estate.”

Why is all the Trump foot-dragging tolerated? NBC News reports:

"The House committee investigating the attack on the Capitol gave former President Donald Trump an extra week to provide requested documents after lawmakers said Friday that they did not receive any records from a subpoena issued last month in connection with the Jan. 6 riot."

Why extend the deadline? Only reinforces the behavior. Elicits more of the same.

"The initial subpoena deadline was 10 a.m. ET Friday for any communications Trump may have had regarding extremist groups involved in the riot and any attempts in the past year to contact witnesses testifying before the Jan. 6 committee. The Oct. 21 subpoena also called for Trump to provide testimony at the Capitol or by videoconference on Nov. 14. In a joint statement Friday, the committee's chair, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., and vice chair Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said that while they were allowing additional time for the documents, they were not changing the date for Trump's deposition."

Why are you tolerating the foot-dragging? Especially, in light of the following:

“We have received correspondence from the former President and his counsel in connection with the Select Committee’s subpoena," they said. "We have informed the former President’s counsel that he must begin producing records no later than next week and he remains under subpoena for deposition testimony starting on November 14th." A spokesperson for the Dhillon Law Group, which previously acknowledged service of the subpoena, did not respond to a request for comment. David A. Warrington, a lawyer for Trump at the firm, previously said that the firm would look over the subpoena, but did not say publicly whether Trump plans to comply with it. “As with any similar matter, we will review and analyze it, and will respond as appropriate to this unprecedented action," Warrington said in a statement at the time. Trump has given signals that he's eyeing a 2024 announcement this month. Two sources familiar with his thinking told NBC News that he will likely announce another presidential bid this month, though the date could slide."

Nearly two years have passed since Trump clearly incited the 1-6-21 Capitol insurrection. Has yet to be indicted and prosecuted. No excuse for all the foot-dragging. In a democratic republic, no one is above the law. No one. From the bottom of the food chain to the very top. Yet, Trump has received a free pass to date. Special treatment. Certainly, not accorded others involved in the insurrection.

Unlike the bottom of the food chain and middle class, the very top continues to be protected and coddled. In follow-up to a case covered earlier here and elsewhere, The Associated Press reports:

"Donald Trump’s inaugural committee chair, Tom Barrack, was acquitted of all counts Friday at a federal trial in which he was accused of using his personal access to the former president to secretly promote the interests of the United Arab Emirates. The jury in Brooklyn deliberated three days before finding Barrack not guilty of acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government, obstruction of justice and making false statements. Barrack had vehemently denied the charges. Barrack, a 75-year-old California billionaire, is an old friend of Trump and chaired the Republican’s inaugural committee. He was among a long line of Trump associates to face various criminal charges."

The very top of the food chain is certainly protected and coddled by bought and paid for lawmakers and the statutes they pass.

"The verdict touched off a tearful celebration among Barrack and his supporters, who took group photos in the courtroom."

Bet it did. No justice. Expect better from a system that is bought and paid for?

“I’m so thankful for this system,” Barrack said, expressing appreciation for the jury."

The ones he truly owes his thanks to are bought and paid for state and federal legislators and the state governors and presidents who signed protective legislation into law. Two systems of justice. One for the very top of the food chain. The other for the rest of us.

Barrack’s acquittal was the latest setback for the Justice Department, which in recent years has stepped up enforcement of laws governing foreign lobbying. Last month, a judge dismissed a lawsuit that sought to force casino magnate Steve Wynn to register as a foreign agent because of his alleged lobbying at the behest of the Chinese government during the Trump administration. In 2019, lawyer Greg Craig, a Democrat, was acquitted of making a false statement to the Justice Department about work he did for the Ukraine’s government. Trump also pardoned two allies who had been convicted of secretly lobbying the U.S. for foreign interests: former campaign manager Paul Manafort and a top fundraiser, Elliott Broidy."

Until the system changes and is no longer bought and paid for, the injustice will continue unabated. Short of an unwanted, dreaded second American revolution, think that will ever happen?

"In closing arguments Tuesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Harris told jurors that Barrack schemed to become the “eyes, ears and the voice” for the Emirates as part of a criminal conspiracy to manipulate Trump’s foreign policy. At the same time, he leveraged his back-channel connections to get the UAE to funnel tens of millions of dollars into an office building he was developing and into one of his investment funds, Harris added. The prosecutor pointed to what he characterized as a steady st[r]eam of shady texts and other communications that showed that Barrack was under the direction and control of Rashid al Malik, a businessperson from the UAE who acted as a conduit to the rulers the oil-rich Persian Gulf state. Barrack “marketed himself as politically connected. Someone who could open doors for the UAE. Someone who could offer access to Donald Trump. ... He was going to be their man on the inside,” Harris said. Al Malik asked Barrack “to do things for the UAE again and again,” he said."

In those discussions, “I would never share anything … that I thought was confidential,” he testified."

Midterm Elections 2022. The Associated Press reports:

"Razor-thin margins around the country left control of Congress undetermined Wednesday, but Democrats showed surprising strength in the midterm election, topping Republicans in a series of competitive races and defying expectations that high inflation and President Joe Biden’s low approval ratings would drag his party to key defeats. In the most heartening news for Democrats, John Fetterman flipped Pennsylvania’s Republican-controlled Senate seat that’s key to the party’s hopes of maintaining control of the chamber. But Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin won reelection, raising the stakes of races in Nevada, Georgia and Arizona that were too early to call but could determine the majority. In the House, Democrats kept seats in districts from Virginia to Kansas to Rhode Island, while many districts in states like New York and California had not been called. Democrats also were successful in governors’ races, winning in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania — battlegrounds critical to Biden’s 2020 win over Donald Trump. "Abortion rights supporters won in the four states where access was on the ballot Tuesday, as voters enshrined it into the state constitution in battleground Michigan as well as blue California and Vermont and dealt a defeat to an anti-abortion measure in deep-red Kentucky. In all, it was a dramatic illustration of how the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in June to eliminate the nationwide right to abortion has galvanized voters who support women’s right to choose. The court’s June decision has led to near-total bans in a dozen Republican-governed states. The Kentucky result repudiated the state’s Republican-led Legislature, which has imposed a near-total ban on abortion and put the proposed state constitutional amendment on the ballot. Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail. Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion. That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.
