Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable. Time to step up.  Now.

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Three hundred thirty four weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Hey, Sheriff?  Reportedly, promote Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 to Sergeant?  If true, yet another classic example of survival of the unfittest in the law enforcement community.  Readers are reminded this is the very same idiot, clueless asshole responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to the Pace Arrow as reported in each edition of this publication.  Far more to Kingsland property owner James Berardi in a property dispute.  -- A dispute engineered by Johnny Greene, apparently financed by a bribe to the former County Attorney, current District Attorney, and Sheriff.  A federal investigation of Llano County government and the aforementioned allegedly corrupt and abusive bastards in this ongoing fiasco is desperately needed.  Tim Chorney.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Three hundred thirty four weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Three hundred thirty four weeks.  Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news.  Received an award.  The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road.  To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property.  All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764.  The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago.  The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question.  How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.

As always, when an officer does something heroic or of exceptional value to the community, it leads in this publication.  Always.  Uncommon Valor.  ABC News(AP) reports:

"A Denver suburb is mourning the death of a second police officer in as many years after a 27-year-old patrolman was fatally shot while trying to break up a large family disturbance over the weekend. Arvada Officer Dillon Vakoff died at a hospital Sunday after being shot while he and another officer responded to the disturbance that spilled into a street outside a housing complex. A suspect opened fire, wounding a woman, at which point the officers returned fire, Police Chief Link Strate said at a news conference Sunday. The suspect then fired at Vakoff, Strate said. The suspect was wounded by the officers and taken to a local hospital. He was expected to survive, police said Sunday. The suspect's identity wasn't immediately released. The woman allegedly wounded by the suspect also was hospitalized and was expected to recover, police said. Further details on the shooting were expected later Monday."

Sadly:

"Vakoff was the second officer to be slain in the line of duty in as many years in Arvada, a city located 7 miles (11 kilometers) northwest of downtown Denver. In 2021, Officer Gordon Beasley, 40, was shot and killed in an ambush by a gunman wielding an AR-style rifle in downtown Arvada. Residents stunned by Vakoff's slaying adorned a police car parked outside Arvada City Hall with flowers, and the city lit a historic downtown water tower in blue overnight. Condolence messages came in from state police agencies and public officials, including Gov. Jared Polis. Vakoff was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for six years, before joining the Arvada Police Department in 2019. He was training to be a SWAT officer, police said in a statement. Vakoff graduated from high school in Arvada in 2012. “This is a tragic loss to this community, to this department, but most significantly to his family and loved ones,” Police Chief Link Strate said on Sunday. “His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”

Indeed.  As stated repeatedly in this publication, a democratic republic cannot survive without good law enforcement officers.  Officer Vakoff was certainly one of them.  Uncommon Valor.

No longer.

Yet another example of 'legalized' murder in the jackbooted bastard in blue community.  NBC News reports:

"Federal prosecutors announced Friday that they will not pursue criminal civil rights charges against a Kansas police officer who fatally shot a teenager in 2018 during a wellness check."

Surprised?  ... As our formerly great country continues to nazify from a supposed democratic republic into a fascist police-state?  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"The Department of Justice's decision comes almost two years after an investigation was opened into the killing of John Albers, 17, whose death in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park reignited the national outcry over police use of excessive force."

As well it should have been.  Yet, no justice.  Not expected in what has become a fascist police-state.  The jackbooted bastard was protected and coddled not only by state authorities, but at the federal level:

"At this time, there is insufficient evidence to establish beyond a reasonable doubt that the officer willfully committed a violation of the federal criminal civil rights statute," the Department of Justice said in a statement. "Specifically, the evidence does not clear the high bar that the Supreme Court has set for meeting this standard, and the department has therefore closed its investigation into this matter."

Nazi justice.

"The Overland Park police officer, Clayton Jenison, had been on the force for about two years at the time of the shooting. He eventually agreed to resign — with a $70,000 severance package — despite the fact that Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe had cleared him of wrongdoing."

Protected and coddled the jackbooted son of a bitch.  No justice.

"In making the announcement that no charges would be filed, Howe released dashcam video and said Jenison, who said he feared for his life, was justified in his actions when he opened fire 13 times."

What a crock of shit.  Does not jive with reality and how things went down as reported.  Not only that, but opening fire 13 times, think the jackbooted bastard was not determined to make sure this kid was killed?

"But Albers' parents have long disputed the police department's narrative over what happened, blasting local prosecutors' investigation as being biased and lacking competence."

To be expected when the fox guards the chicken coop, -- so to speak.

Interestingly:

"Despite the lack of federal charges, the Albers family said in a statement that they believe the FBI conducted a "thorough and impartial review."

"The transparency, empathy, and compassion the professionals at DOJ and the FBI exhibited helped us feel supported — and it honored John," the family said. "Again, this was not the treatment we received from our local law enforcement and city leaders, who chose to dishonor our son." Albers' parents had pushed for files in the case to be made public, which finally happened in April 2021, when the city of Overland Park released a redacted 500-page report along with photos, videos of additional dashcam footage, and an interview conducted with Jenison after the shooting. NBC affiliate KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri, had also sued Overland Park for the release of those investigative files."

Why the redaction?  Why not full transparency?  Without transparency, there can be no trust.  The jackbooted bastards in law enforcement have lied too many times to protect themselves and their best interests.

"The files included social media posts and journal entries in which Albers, a high school junior, appeared to be struggling with mental health issues. On Jan. 20, 2018, police were called to his home after a friend expressed concern that he may be intoxicated and feeling suicidal, saying he had threatened to stab himself with a knife."

So law enforcement took it upon itself to complete the job for him?

Carefully, consider the following:

"At the time of the call, just before dusk, Albers was home alone while his family had gone out for dinner. Dashcam videos and a neighbor's security camera showed Jenison and another officer arriving at the home. They stayed for a few minutes outside and did not knock on the front door or identify themselves. Eventually, the garage door of the home swung open, and Jenison unholstered his weapon and moved toward the door as a minivan, which Albers was driving, began to back out slowly and in a straight line. Jenison reacted, aiming his weapon and yelling, "Stop, stop, stop." Jenison, who was standing to the right of the van, fired twice toward Albers."

An execution.  'Shoot first, ask questions later.'

"In a lawsuit filed by the family against the city and Jenison, the Albers contend that one or both of the bullets struck the teenager, "incapacitating him and rendering him unable to control the minivan." The car stopped, but then speeded up in reverse, making a U-turn in the driveway and backing up. Jenison fired 11 more shots, and the minivan pulled forward, past another police car that had just approached, and coasted in neutral into the driveway of a home across the street, according to the report and dashcam video. An autopsy report later showed that six bullets had struck Albers. A toxicology report indicated that he had not been under the influence of drugs or alcohol."

Fascinating, isn't it?

Get this:

"In an interview with investigators following the shooting, Jenison said that he had taken cover outside of the home because he didn't know if Albers would "self-harm or if he also has homicidal tendencies."

So, shoot first and ask questions later?  Gutlessly, make sure you kill the kid despite the fact by your own admission you took cover?  Could have just stepped out of the way?

"The Department of Justice said Friday that the focus of its review was to determine whether federal prosecutors could prove, in part, that Jenison had deprived Albers of his constitutional rights, including by "willfully using unreasonable force against the person." But investigators added that the federal government has no statute that criminalizes a police officer's use of unreasonable force "if willfulness cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt."

How goddamned convenient.  Highly convoluted law that protects and coddles murderous law enforcement.

"The Albers family settled its complaint against Overland Park and Jenison in 2019 for $2.3 million, The Washington Post reported, although the city and Jenison did not admit liability and Overland Park said it settled to avoid the cost and length of a lawsuit."

Jesus Christ.  Nazi justice.  In a fascist police-state.  No longer a democratic republic.

"NBC News reached out to Jenison and the Johnson County District Attorney's Office for comment following the Department of Justice's decision in the case. In a joint response, the Overland Park Police Department and the city of Overland Park said their respective officials cooperated with the federal investigation. Federal investigators noted that the decision not to bring charges in Albers' death "does not alter the fact that his loss was an unnecessary tragedy," and highlighted how a federal district court overseeing the lawsuit had ruled that a reasonable jury could conclude the officer did use unreasonable force when he fired the first two shots at Albers. "The federal criminal investigation found no substantial evidence inconsistent with that conclusion," the Department of Justice said."

Yet, no justice.  We've lost our country.  Any sense of propriety.

"The Albers family said in response that "we cannot ignore the underlying theme of the DOJ's statement: local officials failed in their investigation, failed to bring viable state charges, and ignored the fact that a jury could definitely find that the officer used unreasonable force."

What is so extremely dangerous here is the fact neither the federal or state governments could provide any justice.  None.

The following?  Scant comfort:

"Since Albers' death, Overland Park has overhauled its department and policies, creating a separate mental-health unit to respond to calls and banning police from shooting into a moving car. "But there is still work to be done," the Albers family said. "We need more crisis-intervention training for all our officers who step up to serve us every day. We need a top-down culture of transparency and compassion in local government and law enforcement." Under the Biden administration, federal prosecutors have pursued federal civil rights charges against police officers in other high-profile cases, most recently against two current and two former police officers in Louisville, Kentucky, involved in a raid that led to the death of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old medical worker."

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

In follow-up to an earlier edition of this publication, NPR reports:

"Michael Jennings, the Black pastor arrested while watering his neighbor's flowers, has filed a federal lawsuit against the police officers involved in his detainment. The lawsuit also names the city of Childersburg, which oversees the police department that arrested Jennings, as a defendant. Jennings, a longtime pastor at Vision of Abundant Life Church in Sylacauga, Ala., is represented by national civil rights attorney, Harry Daniels, and attorneys Bethaney Embry Jones, Joi Travis and Roderick Van Daniels. They hosted a news conference Saturday with the Alabama NAACP to discuss the case. "I'm here for accountability, and I'm here for justice," Jennings said. The lawsuit says Jennings is suffering with emotional distress and "significant PTSD type symptoms" that include nightmares and flashbacks."

While the pastor should sue the living shit out of the racist jackbooted bastards in blue who arrested him, hard to believe as a retired former officer himself that he is suffering from PTSD from the incident.  Especially, since he strongly challenged the authenticity of the arrest itself as well as the authority of the arresting officers to make the arrest as reported earlier.  ... Could it be legal counsel was a bit over exuberant in the lawsuit?

"He is asking for a jury to hear the case and to determine compensatory and punitive damages as well as money to cover the costs of the lawsuit, including attorneys' fees."

Certainly, entitled to it.

"Alabama NAACP President Benard Simelton said in a statement to NPR that there are concerns about the officers' training."

No question.

"These poor judgment decisions reflect poorly on the type of training the Childersburg police officers receive ... if they were acting in accordance within police guidelines," he added."

Certainly, appeared racism was the prime mover in the arrest.

"The attorneys representing Jennings said the release of the body camera video will furthermore clear the way for "legal action against the officers and more." "This video makes it clear that these officers decided they were going to arrest Pastor Jennings less than five minutes after pulling up and then tried to rewrite history claiming he hadn't identified himself when that was the first thing he did," Daniels said in a statement to NPR."

Readers will recall:

"Jennings said he was doing a neighborly deed of watering his out-of-town neighbor's flowers, per their request, on May 22 when a Childersburg police officer showed up. "I'm supposed to be here. I'm Pastor Jennings. I live across the street," Jennings told the officer in the body camera footage obtained by NPR. "I'm looking out for their house while they're gone, watering their flowers," he said. Following their arrival, police arrested Jennings and placed him in the back of a police cruiser — later charging him with obstructing government operations, according to a criminal complaint. "When they first pulled up, I already knew that it was gonna be something," Jennings said in an interview with NPR. Jennings recalls that when the police arrived at his neighbors' house, he immediately noticed the officers' behavior. "[The officer] parked around back and walked around front. And immediately, you could tell by the tone of his voice I was already guilty," he said. In the 20-minute video, a Childersburg police officer approaches Jennings as he is seen on camera watering plants in a yard. Once the officer approaches Jennings and asks him what he is doing, he replies: "Watering flowers." The unidentified officer asks Jennings if a car parked in the neighbor's driveway belongs to him. Jennings responds to the officer saying the car belongs to his neighbor. Later in the video, the officer asks the pastor if he lives at the home, and he says to the officer that he does not. The exchange between Jennings and the officer leads to shouting as Jennings explains to the officers that he has done nothing wrong. He tells the officers: "I told him I'm a pastor. ... You want to lock me up, lock me up. ... Lock me up and see what happens. I want you to."

Precisely, why it seems highly unlikely the former officer is suffering from PTSD.  LOL.  Certainly, took no shit from the two racist arresting officers.  Rightfully, so.

"Jennings, a former police officer himself, is seen on video placed in handcuffs for not providing the officers with his identification. The charges against Jennings were later dismissed by a municipal judge in June. Throughout NPR's multiple reports on this incident, the Childersburg Police Department has not responded to NPR's request for comment."

Clearly, not possible to credibly defend the indefensible.

"Alabama law says that any officer "may stop any person abroad in a public place" if they suspect that the person is committing or has committed a felony or another public offense — and can demand the person's name, address and an explanation of their actions. However, Jennings' attorneys emphasize in their statement that "Alabama's Stop and Identify Law did not require Pastor Jennings ... to identify himself because he was not in a public place."

This shit needs to end.  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms on an exponentially increasing number of issues.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The following is an update (Aug. 22, 2022) on a case that goes back awhile.  NBCNews reports:

"State police and federal officials launched investigations into the use of force against a man by Arkansas law enforcement officers that was captured on viral video, officials said Monday. The video was recorded Sunday outside a convenience store in Mulberry as three officers, two from the Crawford County Sheriff's Department and one from the Mulberry Police Department, arrested a man on allegations of trespassing and other crimes, Arkansas State Police said in a statement. The suspect, identified as Randal Worcester, 27, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries before he was jailed, state police said. The deputies and the officer involved were identified as Crawford County Sheriff's Deputies Zack King and Levi White and Mulberry Police Officer Thell Riddle, the sheriff's office revealed Monday. At a news conference Monday, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson said the officers' conduct was "reprehensible." “First of all, that is reprehensible conduct in which a suspect is beat in that fashion," he said. "We don’t have all of the details, and certainly that suspect had a history of concern that was legitimate for the officers, but that response was not consistent with the training that they receive as certified officers with the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.”

This crap never seems to end.  While force is required on occasion, too often the jackbooted bastards in blue take it to the extreme.  Take perverse joy in beating the living shit out of their prey.

"Hutchinson said that, in addition to a probe by Arkansas State Police, the U.S. Justice Department is also investigating. Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante said in a statement Sunday that the two deputies who were seen on video had been suspended until the conclusion of the state probe. Mulberry police subsequently said in a statement that their officer has also been suspended pending the investigation, NBC affiliate KARK of Little Rock reported. "The City of Mulberry and the Mulberry Police Department takes these investigations very seriously and holds all their officers accountable for their actions," the department said. All three officers are on paid administrative leave, Col. Bill Bryant, the head of the state police, said at a news conference Monday."

No more than a paid vacation.  The jackbooted bastards are rewarded for engaging in unwarranted violence with paid time off.  What a goddamned f--ked up ass backwards policy.  In a fascist police-state, to be expected.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Representatives for statewide law enforcement organizations that represent rank-and-file officers and deputies didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. It's not clear whether the deputies and the officer involved have legal representation. Damante, the sheriff, said he requested the state police investigation. It's not clear what took place before the recording, which appeared to have been shot from a vehicle at the Kountry Xpress market. Video shows Worcester on the ground, his body twisting in different directions, as an officer closest to his head pummels him with a right fist and then a left. At one point, the same official pulls the suspect's head off the ground and pushes it down with force. Another law enforcement official, the one closest to the man's feet, appears to strike Worcester multiple times with a knee. The third officer appears to hold Worcester down, with the help of body weight, at his waist."

Sadly, to be expected of jackbooted bastards in blue.  So is the following:

"Toward the end of the video, a woman in the car shouts at the officers to stop, and one of the three responds by pointing toward the camera. Another shouts for her to back up, using an expletive."

Pitiful.  Pathetic.  Jackbooted nazi behavior.  Adolf and Benito?  Likely, wildly cheering on their fiery perches.

"According to KARK, the Crawford County deputies came upon Worcester after a clerk at a retailer reported to another police department that a person spat on him and threatened him. That department asked neighboring jurisdictions to be on the lookout for the suspect, the station reported. The sheriff's department said that the suspect was cooperative at first but that the men ultimately ended up in a physical confrontation. Damante said at a news conference Monday that the suspect, who wasn’t known to police, as he was from another state, became violent when officers were about to take him into custody. He said his officers’ account of the incident matched what the viral video showed. Damante said his officers "admitted that they had to use force to subdue him.” He said there is dashcam video of the interaction from the Mulberry officer's vehicle, which was handed to state police. "The dashcam does bring to light other things that happened there, that initiated, that wasn’t caught on the citizen’s camera," Damante said about the video."

No matter what happened prior to the video, does NOT justify smashing the criminal's head into the ground.

"The sheriff's deputies didn’t have body cameras. Damante said he is trying to get body and dash cameras for the department."

No excuse for not having this equipment.  NONE.  Where's all the money going?  Into an official's pocket?

“This behavior is not indicative of the Crawford County Sheriff's Office or any law enforcement agency in this area,” Damante said."

Certainly, hope that's true.

"I promise that I hold my employees accountable for their actions and I will take appropriate action, whatever that action is, when the investigations are complete."

Certainly, hope that's also true.

"Damante said all involved have years of experience. One of his deputies worked for the department for three to four years and the other for five to six years. He said the Mulberry police officer also worked on the force for several years."

The video speaks for itself, Sheriff.  Time to finally wake up and smell the coffee, sir.  Clearly, you have a problem:

"Damante said he didn’t know whether they had been subject to previous disciplinary action. He estimated that the last time his deputies had training in use of excessive force was when they were in the academy."

Wake up.

"He said that the FBI is expected to speak with state police Monday and that an internal investigation within the sheriff's office is underway. The state investigators are focusing solely on the use of force at the store, and they will forward their conclusion, including possible recommended charges, to local prosecutors."

Sounds like the same old empty, hollow, meaningless, disingenuous bullshit.

"A detailed list of charges for which the suspect was booked, according to state police, includes: second-degree battery, resisting arrest, refusal to submit, possessing an instrument of crime, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, terroristic threatening and second-degree assault."

Nothing quite like piling on the charges hoping something will stick.  When will the same apply to the criminal, abusive, murderous jackbooted bastards in blue?

NBC News reports:

"Two more people have come forward to allege excessive force was used against them by one of the Crawford County Sheriff's Department deputies involved in the violent arrest of a man in Mulberry, Arkansas, last month. Polly Risenhoover, 67, and Sarah Trammell, 44, each said they were forcibly handled during encounters with deputy Zack King, one of three Arkansas law enforcement officers whose conduct during the arrest of Randal Worcester in August prompted state and federal investigations. Last month, a woman and man said Levi White, another deputy involved in the arrest, had also used excessive force against them on separate occasions. Trammell said she feared for her life during her encounter with King, while Risenhoover said her interaction with the deputy left her so battered she required a lengthy hospital stay. "I don't think anything I did warranted this sort of pain toward me," Risenhoover said. "It's been a rough year."

Jackbooted motherf--kers in blue.  Think you don't have a problem, Sheriff?

"King, White and Mulberry Police Officer Thell Riddle drew condemnation, including from Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson last month when they were recorded by a bystander, in a video that went viral, violently arresting Worcester. A spokesperson for the Arkansas State Police has said the officers were responding to a disturbance call when they came upon Worcester. In the video, one of the officers is captured repeatedly punching and kneeing Worcester in the head before grabbing his hair and slamming him against the pavement. Another officer knees the man over and over, while a third holds him down. Worcester's attorneys previously told NBC News that his right ear was swollen and purple after the incident and he had abrasions to his knees and complained of pain in his head. None of the three officers was wearing a body camera. Video from the Mulberry police vehicle's dashcam has not been released publicly."

Why not?  Why are these pieces of shit in law enforcement protected and coddled?

Risenhoover, Trammell and their attorneys say they hope that by speaking out, they will push the sheriff's office to invest in body-worn cameras to promote accountability within the department and prevent others from facing abuse."

... Hear the rumble?

"The attorneys, Carrie Jernigan and David Powell, said that since the arrest of Worcester, whom they are also representing, they have heard from a number of people from the community who have alleged abuse at the hands of deputies in Crawford County. "What he did is essentially a battery," said Powell, referring to King's encounter with Risenhoover. "It's evidence of excessive force by that officer. And it's been allowed by that department." Crawford County Sheriff Jimmy Damante has not responded to requests for comment."

Why not, Sheriff?  Not possible to credibly defend the indefensible?

"Russell Wood, an attorney for King and White, did not respond to a request for an interview about the allegations. The deputies have not spoken publicly about the incidents. King, White and Riddle were suspended while separate state and federal investigations are being conducted into their arrest of Worcester, according to their respective agencies and Hutchinson, who announced the investigations."

Get this:

"Risenhoover said deputies were at her home May 20, 2021, to a respond to a report of a man with a gun. A neighbor, she said, mistook her son's BB gun for a real one. According to an incident report, Risenhoover and her husband "were outside yelling and screaming" and did not comply with orders to come down from their porch and show their hands. King told the deputy who completed the incident report that Risenhoover had slapped him in the face. In an interview with NBC News, Risenhoover said she did not recall having done so. "My husband and I were standing on the porch," she said. "And my husband was being very mouthy and I guess it made them mad." While two other deputies handcuffed her husband, Risenhoover said King grabbed her by the face, pushed her down on her deck and kneed her in the ribs. After she complained of being hurt, she was taken to the hospital but not arrested, according to the incident report. Risenhoover said her life has changed dramatically since her encounter with King. "The reason why I'm finally coming forward is I know how bad this has hurt me," she said. "I feel like it has taken time off of my life. They say your golden years are supposed to be great but mine are not. I don't want anyone to go through this."

Expect better in a fascist police-state?

"Powell said there needs to be accountability and that body-worn cameras and dashcams on deputies' vehicles would make that easier to achieve. "We want some justice for the people who have come forward," Powell said. "Maybe this department needs to apply for state or federal funding and to put these things in place if their officers are going rogue like this." Trammell said she has bipolar disorder and was in psychosis when she was arrested by King on June 19. Her older sister, Crystal McCabe, said they were on the phone when Trammell ran out of gas and was in a manic state. "She didn't know where [she] was," McCabe said. "She was scared. And she thought she was in heaven." McCabe said her sister was incoherent."

Sad, isn't it?  Law enforcement is clearly not trained, and/or qualified to deal with these issues.  This desperately needs to change.

"King was dispatched on a call about a white woman jumping into traffic and opening mailboxes. According to a probable cause affidavit written by King, when he arrived on the scene, a neighbor alleged that Trammell had gone into a stranger's car and then into a van and stated that it was hers. King alleged in the probable cause affidavit that when he asked Trammell her name, she said "Sarah" and that when he asked her her last name, she looked down at his name tag and said "King." Asked her date of birth, King also alleged in the affidavit that Trammell responded "today," at which point he said that he told her to put her hands behind her back because she was under arrest and that she told him "no" and that he would have to drag her out of the van. Trammell said in an interview that she believed King could be her husband because she was in a manic state. She denies any wrongdoing. She said she remembered King tasing her multiple times. "He threw me down on my belly," she said. "And I just remember him being like, on top of me, and I just felt a lot of pressure and then the tasing." In the affidavit, King said Trammell kicked and slapped him while they were on the ground and he "dry stunned" her multiple times. He also alleges Trammell grabbed his taser with both hands, which she disputes. King said he was able to handcuff Trammell with the help of a witness at the scene. "I thought that he was going to kill me," she said. "I felt my life was in danger." Trammell was arrested on several charges, including battery in the second degree, breaking or entering, unauthorized use of a vehicle and resisting arrest. She was released on bond last week. Powell said Trammell has yet to be formally charged. Trammell's family and Powell said King should have known she was not in the right state of mind and shown her compassion."

Law enforcement clearly has a long, long, long way to go.  -- Compassion?  What's that?  Sadly, barely existent in the law enforcement community.

"I just feel like if he would have talked to me like I was a human being, and treated me as one and not as an animal or whatever, I feel like, things would have went differently," she said. "I don't feel like he gave me a chance to talk to him. I was scared." Trammell said she is disgusted by the various allegations of abuse that have been leveled publicly at deputies since Worcester’s arrest. Risenhoover's and Trammell's allegations follow those of another woman and a man who said said last month that they, too, had been assaulted by a sheriff's deputy during separate arrests. Tammy Nelson said that she sustained bruises all over her body, including her knees, elbows, shoulders and arms when she was arrested Aug. 14 by White. White acted aggressively and kneed her next to her "private area," she previously told NBC News."

... How the jackbooted bastard gets his cookies off?

"Her arrest  stemmed from a civil matter related to an easement. She was charged with obstruction of government operation and harassment, both misdemeanors, she and her attorneys said. She has pleaded not guilty. She said the sheriff's office did not follow up on a verbal complaint she filed at the office a day after she was released from jail. Teddy Wallace said White used a stun gun on him multiple times and beat him with a baton. "I had a bunch of abrasions on my elbows, my knees. My legs were bruised," Wallace said at a news conference last month. "I have a big bruise on my right arm. I just now got healed up from it all. My head was split open."

Needless to say, there is a serious problem with law enforcement in our formerly great country.  Needless to say as well?  A democratic republic cannot survive without good law enforcement.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Some positive change?  Think so?  In follow-up, NBC News reports:

"Less than two weeks after an officer in Ohio fatally shot a Black man who was in bed while executing an arrest warrant, the Columbus police chief on Thursday issued a policy change about warrants served late at night. Chief Elaine Bryant is directing the Columbus Division of Police to seek high-level approval for some warrants served between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to a memo sent to all sworn personnel. Donovan Lewis, 20, was fatally shot about 2:30 a.m. Aug. 30 while police executed a felony arrest warrant for alleged improper handling of a firearm, domestic violence and assault. “Effective immediately and until revised or rescinded by me, no pre-planned arrest warrants shall be served at private residences for all misdemeanor offenses (including domestic violence) and non-violent felony offenses between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM without the prior approval of a lieutenant or above," the memo said."

Think that's sufficient?

"The memo added: “Pre-planned means the sole reason you have decided to go to the address is to serve an arrest warrant. This policy does not apply to tactical units, for example, SWAT, In/Tac, and task force personnel.” The memo was obtained by NBC affiliate in Columbus WCMH and shared with NBC News. When asked for the memo Friday, a city spokesperson said to file a record’s request. Body camera video of the Aug. 30 incident shows an officer fatally shooting Lewis within moments of encountering him. Lewis appears to sit up in bed and raise a hand in the moments before he is shot. Bryant told reporters in August that Officer Ricky Anderson fired his gun when Lewis appeared to raise a hand with something in it. Bryant said a device appearing to be a “vape pen” was later “found on the bed right next to him.” No weapon was found, police said. Anderson, a 30-year veteran of the force who was assigned to the canine unit, was placed on paid leave, which is protocol for officers who shoot their weapons on duty, police said."

-- Nothing quite like receiving a paid 'vacation' after murdering on the job, is there?

"Earlier this month, Attorney Rex Elliott, who is representing Lewis’ family, urged Columbus police to reconsider when they serve warrants. “First of all, I’d like to know why in the world they’re executing warrants at 2 o’clock in the morning?” he said. “The explanation by Chief Ryan, ‘Well, we do that because we have to be sure that they’re at home,’ is nonsense. The reality is that felony warrants are executed every day in daylight hours. There was absolutely no reason for this to have been served in the middle of the night like it was.” Elliott also said Lewis was treated like an animal, according to body camera footage of the shooting and its aftermath."

Sadly, par for the course in a fascist police-state.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"He said police should have never moved Lewis after he was shot because they could have made his wound worse. “The video shows a sickening reaction to me,” he said. “The video looks like they treated Donovan like an animal.” “Instead, they grabbed him. There was no gun. They handcuffed him. They told him to crawl out of bed. They dragged him onto the floor. It was just terrible,” Elliott said."

Expect better of the out of control jackbooted bastards in blue?

"Rebecca Duran, Lewis’ mother, told ABC News on Wednesday, “I made it to the scene while they were still in the early stages, and they would not give me any information at all.” She added, "The news was releasing information on the internet before I could get it. I was on the scene and I needed to see what actually happened." Body camera footage released to NBC News this week shows Duran on the street after the shooting, crying and waiting behind police tape as she’s trying to figure out if her son was killed. An officer, who said he’s trying to be empathetic, said detectives must release information to her. At one point in the video, Duran said, “What I just want to know is what hospital he’s at? What if he’s still alive and I can see him?” she asks through tears. Duran told ABC News her son, a father-to-be, was a caring and joyful person. “He loved life. He had a zest for life. He loved people. He had the biggest heart,” she said."

Murdered by a jackbooted bastard in blue.

"Lewis’ death occurred less than two years after a Columbus police officer lost his job days after he fatally shot a Black man. In May 2021, the city of Columbus reached a $10 million settlement with Andre Hill’s family over that deadly shooting. It also comes after the fatal police shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant, 16, who was killed by a Columbus police officer in April 2021. The officer who shot the teenager, Nicholas Reardon, was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, prosecutors announced in March."

Nazi justice in a fascist police-state.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"That same month Bryant was killed, Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and City Attorney Zach Klein requested a review of the Columbus Division of Police. In September 2021, the Department of Justice agreed to review the practices of the city’s police department."

Nowhere near good enough.  A fascist police-state.  No longer a democratic republic.  We have a problem.  A serious problem.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Weaponization of DNA by the jackbooted bastards in blue.  Seatbelts on.  NBC News reports:

"A sexual assault victim whose DNA was used to identify her as a burglary suspect sued the San Francisco Police Department on Monday, with her lawyer saying the genetic sample she provided to authorities had been “weaponized against her.” The woman, identified as Jane Doe in a suit filed in federal court in California’s Northern District, was “re-victimized” by what the suit described as an “unconstitutional” practice used by the police department’s crime lab. “Sexual assault survivors consent to police to use their DNA for one purpose — to find the perpetrator of the sexual assault,” lawyer Adante Pointer told reporters. “What we have here is our constitutional rights turned on their head.” After the woman was sexually assaulted six years ago, she provided her DNA to police investigators, according to the lawsuit. The sample was placed in what internal crime lab files obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle described as a “quality assurance” database — a system created in 2015 to use in unrelated criminal cases and to eliminate contamination. Last December, a police lab criminalist ran DNA obtained from the scene of an apparent burglary through the database and found that it matched the woman's DNA, according to the suit. The criminalist provided a forensic report to a police sergeant, who obtained an arrest warrant for the woman based largely on the DNA match, according to the lawsuit. The charges were later dropped, the lawsuit says, and in February former San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin called the practice "legally and ethically wrong" and said it may violate the state's Victims' Bill of Rights."

No question.  A frightening step forward in what is now a fascist police-state.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"A San Francisco police spokesman declined to comment on Monday's suit."

Not possible to credibly defend the indefensible.

"In February, Police Chief Bill Scott said he believed the department's DNA collection practices conformed with state and national forensic standards. He added that he was launching an immediate investigation. Days later, the department ended the policy of sharing rape kit DNA outside the crime lab, the Chronicle reported. Monday's lawsuit claims the database led to “thousands” of cases in which victims’ DNA was used unconstitutionally. It isn’t clear whether there were other arrests."

Certainly, needs to be investigated to determine how far the abuse progressed, -- as well as make sure victims are compensated.

"In April, California legislators proposed a measure that would ban the practice across the state. It wasn't clear whether other departments maintain similar databases. According to the nonprofit Electronic Frontier Foundation, which advocates for digital civil liberties, local agencies that collect and maintain DNA aren’t subject to the same strict laws and regulations as federal and state authorities."

That must change.

NPR(AP) reports:

"A rape victim whose DNA from her sexual assault case was used by San Francisco police to arrest her in an unrelated property crime on Monday filed a lawsuit against the city. During a search of a San Francisco Police Department crime lab database, the woman's DNA was tied to a burglary in late 2021. Her DNA had been collected and stored in the system as part of a 2016 domestic violence and sexual assault case, then-District Attorney Chesa Boudin said in February in a shocking revelation that raised privacy concerns. "This is government overreach of the highest order, using the most unique and personal thing we have – our genetic code – without our knowledge to try and connect us to crime," the woman's attorney, Adante Pointer, said in a statement. The revelation prompted a national outcry from advocates, law enforcement, legal experts and lawmakers. Advocates said the practice could affect victims' willingness to come forward to law enforcement authorities."

No question.  A step backward.  Law enforcement stupidly, figuratively shot itself in the ass.

"Federal law already prohibits the inclusion of victims' DNA in the national Combined DNA Index System. There is no corresponding law in California to prohibit local law enforcement databases from retaining victims' profiles and searching them years later for entirely different purposes."

Needs to immediately change.

"California lawmakers last month approved a bill that would prohibit using the DNA profiles collected by police from sexual assault survivors and other victims for any purpose other than aiding in identifying the perpetrator. Local law enforcement agencies would also be prohibited from retaining and then searching victim DNA to incriminate them in unrelated crimes under the legislation, which is pending before Gov. Gavin Newsom."

... Why the delay?

"Boudin said the report was found among hundreds of pages of evidence against a woman who had been recently charged with a felony property crime. After learning the source of the DNA evidence, Boudin dropped the felony property crime charges against the woman. The police department's crime lab stopped the practice shortly after receiving a complaint from the district attorney's office and formally changed its operating procedure to prevent the misuse of DNA collected from sexual assault victims, Police Chief Bill Scott said. Scott said at a police commission meeting in March that he had discovered 17 crime victim profiles, 11 of them from rape kits, that were matched as potential suspects using a crime victims database during unrelated investigations. Scott said he believes the only person arrested was the woman who filed the lawsuit Monday. The woman filed the lawsuit under the alias of Jane Doe to protect her privacy. Pointer said The Associated Press generally does not name people who say they have been sexually assaulted unless they choose to be named."

The following is outrageous and needs to change:

"California allows local law enforcement crime labs to operate their own forensic databases that are separate from federal and state databases. The law also lets municipal labs perform forensic analysis, including DNA profiling, and use those databases — without regulation by the state or others."

Clearly, they abuse authority.  Do so unconstitutionally.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

The following is a massive failure of law enforcement.  The Associated Press reports:

"A woman outfitted with a tiny microphone and hidden camera walked up to a dilapidated drug house on a chilly afternoon last year looking to buy meth from a dealer known on the streets as “Mississippi.” But as the informant disappeared inside with a career criminal with a rap sheet spanning three decades, her law enforcement handlers left her undercover on her own — unprotected and unmonitored in real time. And the devices she carried passively recorded a crime far more horrific than any drug buy. Under threat of violence, the dealer forced the woman to perform oral sex on him — twice — in an attack so brazen he paused at one point to conduct a separate drug deal, according to interviews and confidential law enforcement records obtained by The Associated Press. “It was one of the worst depictions of sexual abuse I have ever seen,” said a local official who viewed the footage and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the ongoing case. “Just the audio from it is enough to turn your stomach,” the official said. “It’s a female being sexually brutalized while she’s crying and whimpering.”

Where were the jackbooted bastards in blue?  Out to lunch?  Getting their cookies off?

"Even as the woman cried and her assailant threatened to put her “in the hospital,” narcotics deputies remained down the block in the blighted neighborhood, unaware of what was going on. That’s because, as authorities told the AP, they never considered such an attack might happen and the devices the woman carried didn’t have the ability to transmit the operation to law enforcement in real time."

Jesus Christ.  Gross incompetence.

“It was recording but not to where my guys were monitoring it,” said Rapides Parish Sheriff Mark Wood, blaming the January 2021 incident on his inexperience from only being in the top job six months at that time. “There are always things you learn that you can do better.”

Need to resign in disgrace.

"The case in this central Louisiana city of 47,000 underscores the perils confidential informants face seeking to “work off” criminal charges in loosely regulated and often secretive arrangements with law enforcement. Police rely on informants in a wide range of cases, compensating them with money or leniency in their own cases yet often providing little or no training."

Massive failure of law enforcement.  Incompetent boobs not worth a shit.

"Records show it wasn’t until the woman left the area on her own and contacted her handlers that deputies searched the single-family home and arrested Antonio D. Jones, 48, on charges of second-degree rape, false imprisonment and distribution of meth after recovering 5 grams of the substance in the sting. Deputies surveilling the home after the woman went inside assumed she “must be OK” because someone else entered after her to buy drugs, said Lt. Mark Parker, the ranking officer in the operation."

Those deputies are incompetent boobs who need to be immediately fired, investigated, and prosecuted.

"Parker, who retired this month, told the AP that the sheriff’s office didn’t start using equipment capable of monitoring in real time until after the alleged rape, and often would send informants into stings without any recording equipment at all. “We’ve always done it this way,” Parker said. “She was an addict and we just used her as an informant like we’ve done a million times before. Looking back, it’s easy to say, ‘What if?’”

This son of a bitch and his cohorts need to be prosecuted.  Certainly, responsible for what happened to her and others.

Insult to injury?  Get this:

"And while it’s not clear what kind of deal the woman struck with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, her cooperation as an informant didn’t seem to make much difference in clearing her own criminal record. Just three weeks after her recorded assault, court records show, the woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an arrest that happened about a month before the sting, and she’s been pulled over and booked on possession charges at least twice since then. The woman, who declined interview requests and is not being named because the AP does not typically identify victims of sexual assault, pleaded guilty to possessing drug paraphernalia last year and was placed in behavioral health court in lieu of jail time. “It’s absolutely horrible,” said the woman’s attorney, Harold Murry. “She has a drug problem and I don’t know if she’s going to be able to beat it or not. But when you become a snitch, they keep your drug problem going and then they arrest you for it.”

Nazi justice.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.  Without question, no greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue in law enforcement.

The following is beyond appalling.  Gross negligence, abominable incompetence:

"Wood, who worked in the sheriff’s office for two decades before his election, confirmed that the alleged rape has prompted his department to finally update its equipment to keep an eye on undercover transactions as they’re happening. “That changed everything, the way we do business,” Wood said. “Technology has grown unbelievably. There’s things that we can do to keep the folks safe.”

Jesus Christ.  This bastard is hopelessly unfit for office.

"Experts who reviewed the case for AP noted that the technology to monitor undercover transactions has existed for generations and should have been used to protect the woman in this case. The safety of the confidential informant is paramount, they said, prioritized over evidence collection or any other aim of the operation. “I see this as a massive ineptitude,” said Michael Levine, a former U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent who worked undercover for years and now testifies as an expert on police procedures. The deputies, he said, should “never in a million years” have sent the informant into such a high-risk setting without the ability to monitor the operation. “They’re cowards.” David Redemann, a longtime Seattle police officer who now leads training on such stings, said the case highlights the vast disparities in law enforcement’s undercover playbook, with many agencies lacking the resources to properly train officers or monitor informant drug buys."

If so, they have no business conducting such law enforcement activity.

“We do this 10,000 times a day around the country, and not everybody has transmitting equipment,” Redemann said. “Is this tragic as hell? Absolutely. We need to learn from what happened here.”

Making excuses for gross incompetence?

"Law enforcement’s use of confidential informants is akin to a black market in which “deals are made under the table and often undocumented,” said Alexandra Natapoff, a Harvard law professor and leading expert on informants. Not only are informants treated as disposable pawns, she said, but qualified immunity has made it very difficult to sue the police when things go off the rails."

Without question, that certainly needs to immediately change.  So does the following:

“As a matter of common sense and humanity, police should take obvious, straightforward precautions to protect their informants,” Natapoff said, “but there is no law that says they have to.”

Why not?

"With few exceptions, states have been slow to track or regulate law enforcement’s use of informants, even in the wake of high-profile oversights. In 2009, Florida lawmakers adopted Rachel’s Law, the first comprehensive legislation in the country governing use of informants, after the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Rachel Hoffman in connection with an undercover drug sting for Tallahassee police. Among other things, the law requires police consider the “risk of physical harm” to the informant."

Why no meaningful regulation?

Insult to injury?  Get this:

"None of the deputies who arranged the undercover buy in Louisiana were disciplined, the sheriff said, and no other law enforcement agencies were asked to examine the handling of the case. A spokesman for the Alexandria Police Department said the agency had not been made aware of the sexual assault, even though it allegedly happened in the city and the suspect Jones has an extensive criminal history dating to 1992, including convictions in neighboring Mississippi for robbery, car theft, aggravated assault and drug distribution. Jones is scheduled to stand trial Oct. 17, having refused a plea offer from prosecutors. His attorney declined to comment. Last month, as AP was reporting this story, prosecutors without explanation reduced Jones’ charges from forcible second-degree rape to third-degree rape, or simple rape, significantly lowering the amount of time he could spend behind bars if convicted. Prosecutors did not respond to requests for comment on why the charges were reduced or why the informant was charged with drug crimes even after her cooperation in the ill-fated sting. Weeks before the charges were reduced, Rapides Parish District Attorney Phillip Terrell defended the deputies’ handling of the case, telling AP “there is no indication in my file that law enforcement did anything wrong.” The prospect of any informant coming under attack “had not crossed their mind,” the district attorney said, adding he was “certain they wish this would not have occurred.” “They never thought of that, and had they known that was occurring they would have certainly stopped it,” Terrell said. “One of their big concerns now is the safety of the confidential informant.”

The District Attorney is clearly part of the problem.  Bought and paid for.  In the pocket of corrupt, abusive, incompetent law enforcement.

No justice.

Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

What do you think of the following?  Seatbelts on.  The Associated Press reports:

"A teenage human trafficking victim who was initially charged with first-degree murder after she stabbed her accused rapist to death was sentenced Tuesday in an Iowa court to five years of closely supervised probation and ordered to pay $150,000 restitution to the man’s family."

What do you think?

"Pieper Lewis, 17, was sentenced Tuesday after she pleaded last year to involuntary manslaughter and willful injury in the June 2020 killing of 37-year-old Zachary Brooks of Des Moines. Both charges were punishable by up to 10 years in prison."

What do you think?

"Polk County District judge David M. Porter on Tuesday deferred those prison sentences, meaning that if Lewis violates any portion of her probation, she could be sent to prison to serve that 20-year term."

What do you think?

"As for being required to pay the estate of her rapist, “this court is presented with no other option,” Porter said, noting the restitution is mandatory under Iowa law that has been upheld by the Iowa Supreme Court."

What do you think?

Carefully, consider the following:

"Lewis was 15 when she stabbed Brooks more than 30 times in a Des Moines apartment. Officials have said Lewis was a runaway who was seeking to escape an abusive life with her adopted mother and was sleeping in the hallways of a Des Moines apartment building when a 28-year-old man took her in before forcibly trafficking her to other men for sex. Lewis said one of those men was Brooks and that he had raped her multiple times in the weeks before his death. She recounted being forced at knifepoint by the 28-year-old man to go with Brooks to his apartment for sex. She told officials that after Brooks had raped her yet again, she grabbed a knife from a bedside table and stabbed Brooks in a fit of rage."

What do you think?

"Police and prosecutors have not disputed that Lewis was sexually assaulted and trafficked. But prosecutors have argued that Brooks was asleep at the time he was stabbed and not an immediate danger to Lewis."

What do you think?

"Iowa is not among the dozens of states that have a so-called safe harbor law that gives trafficking victims at least some level of criminal immunity. Lewis, who earned her GED while being held in juvenile detention, acknowledged in a statement prior to her sentencing that she struggled with the structure of her detention, including “why I was treated like fragile glass” or wasn’t allowed to communicate with her friends or family. “My spirit has been burned, but still glows through the flames,” she read from a statement she had prepared. “Hear me roar, see me glow, and watch me grow.” “I am a survivor,” she added."

What do you think?

"The Associated Press does not typically name victims of sexual assault, but Lewis agreed to have her name used previously in stories about her case. Prosecutors took issue with Lewis calling herself a victim in the case and said she failed to take responsibility for stabbing Brooks and “leaving his kids without a father.”

What do you think?

"The judge peppered Lewis with repeated requests to explain what poor choices she made that led up to Brooks’ stabbing and expressed concern that she sometimes did not want to follow rules set for her in juvenile lockup. “The next five years of your life will be full of rules you disagree with, I’m sure of it,” Porter said. He later added, “This is the second chance that you’ve asked for. You don’t get a third.”

What do you think?

"Karl Schilling with the Iowa Organization for Victim Assistance said a bill to create a safe harbor law for trafficking victims passed the Iowa House earlier this year, but stalled in the Senate under concerns from law enforcement groups that it was too broad."

What do you think?

“There was a working group established to iron out the issues,” Shilling said. “Hopefully it will be taken up again next year.”

Next year?  What do you think?

"Iowa does have an affirmative defense law that gives some leeway to victims of crime if the victim committed the violation “under compulsion by another’s threat of serious injury, provided that the defendant reasonably believed that such injury was imminent.” Prosecutors argued Tuesday that Lewis waived that affirmative defense when she pleaded guilty to manslaughter and willful injury."

Think she had adequate counsel?  Is this 'justice' in what is now a fascist police-state, no longer a democratic republic?  Is clueless the new norm in a fascist police-state?  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Update on the Trump Mar-a-Lago search.  NBC News reports:

"The Justice Department will appeal a judge's ruling for a special master to look at the documents seized during the search of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, according to a notification filed Thursday. The Justice Department will file their appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the filing said. The Justice Department also asked for a partial stay of the judge's ruling while the appeal is pending, saying "the government and the public are irreparably injured when a criminal investigation of matters involving risks to national security is enjoined."

Readers will recall:

"U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, a 41-year-old Trump appointee who was confirmed to the Southern District of Florida at the tail-end of the Trump administration, granted Trump's request for a special master on Monday. Her ruling was widely panned by the legal community, especially given her unprecedented decision to give a special master authority not only over documents protected by attorney-client privilege but over Trump's purported claims of executive privilege. "The classification markings establish on the face of the documents that they are government records, not Plaintiff’s personal records," the government wrote Thursday. "The government’s review of those records does not raise any plausible attorney-client privilege claims because such classified records do not contain communications between Plaintiff and his private attorneys. And for several reasons, no potential assertion of executive privilege could justify restricting the Executive Branch’s review and use of the classified records at issue here."

Readers will also recall:

"When the FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago one month ago, the Justice Department says it found more than 11,000 pages of government documents that — under the Presidential Records Act — belonged in the custody of the National Archives. They also found hundreds of pages on documents with classified markings, despite the fact that a Trump lawyer attested that the former president no longer possessed classified records after turning over 38 classified documents in June in response to a grand jury subpoena. Earlier in the year, Trump turned over boxes of documents to the National Archives that contained more than 700 pages of classified records. The government argued that there was evidence that the Trump team "concealed and removed" additional classified documents that had been stored at Mar-a-Lago before the FBI's August search took place. A federal magistrate judge found probable cause that evidence of crimes would be found at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and signed off on the FBI's warrant to search the property. In fact, the FBI found more than 100 classified records that Trump was not supposed to have, DOJ said in a court filing last week, along with the more than 11,000 government documents that properly belonged in the National Archives."

NPR reports:

"The Justice Department is appealing part of a judge's order that would give a special master authority to review documents the FBI collected at Mar-a-Lago last month. Prosecutors say they have serious concerns about handing government secrets to a third party. In her order from Monday, Cannon, a Trump appointee, also ordered federal prosecutors to pause using those documents in their investigation into obstruction and mishandling of government secrets. But she allowed the intelligence community continue its review to determine potential national security risks from the classified material being kept outside of a secure government facility. The decision from the DOJ to appeal was expected."

No more than a delaying tactic sought by Trump, his henchmen, and his bought and paid for 'judge.'

"In their filing Thursday, the government is asking for a stay on the judge's order to halt its use of these classified records for its criminal investigation and that it turn over these documents to a special master for review. Authorities want to be able to review those classified papers freely and don't want to give them to any third party right now. In its filing the government says the intelligence community has paused its security review because it is impossible to segregate it from the criminal probe. Additionally the government said it wants to know what was in the empty folders marked classified, which were also seized at Mar-a-Lago. The Justice Department is asking that Cannon rule on both these matters by Thursday September 15th and failing that, it "intends to seek relief from the Eleventh Circuit." Cannon had set a deadline of Friday, Sept. 9, for the two parties to submit a joint filing with a list of proposed candidates to be named special master. In the filing, the government said it "will provide its views on those issues by Friday."

ABC News reports:

"About 40 subpoenas were issued by the Justice Department last week as part of its criminal investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. Among those subpoenaed are close advisers to former President Donald Trump, as well as former White House officials and staffers from his 2020 presidential campaign ranging from lower-level staffers to those at the highest levels of the campaign. At least one top Trump adviser, Boris Epshteyn, recently had his phone seized as part of this effort, the sources said. Epshteyn did not respond to a request for comment from ABC News. The New York Times first reported news of the roughly 40 subpoenas. As ABC News has previous[ly] reported, the subpoenas are seeking information from witnesses about Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election, the events leading up to and surrounding the Jan. 6 attack, and the fundraising and spending efforts of the Trump-aligned Save America PAC."

Trump gets his.  The Associated Press reports:

"A federal judge in Florida has dismissed Donald Trump’s lawsuit against 2016 Democratic rival Hillary Clinton and former top FBI officials, rejecting the former president’s claims that they and others acted in concert to concoct the Russia investigation that shadowed much of his administration. U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks said in a sharply worded ruling on Thursday that Trump’s lawsuit, filed in March, contained “glaring structural deficiencies” and that many of the “characterizations of events are implausible.”

LOL.

"He dismissed the idea that Trump had sued to correct an actual legal harm, saying that “instead, he is seeking to flaunt a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him, and this Court is not the appropriate forum.”

LOL.

"The lawsuit had named as defendants Clinton and some of her top advisers, as well as former FBI Director James Comey and other FBI officials involved in the investigation into whether Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign had coordinated with Russia to sway the outcome of the election. Other defendants include the founders of a political research firm that hired a former British spy to investigate ties between Trump and Russia, and a well-connected Democratic lawyer who was recently acquitted on a charge of lying to the FBI during a 2016 meeting in which he presented the bureau with information he wanted it to investigate. But none of the claims, the judge wrote, supported Trump’s claims of a conspiracy against him."

Surprised?

“What the Amended Complaint lacks in substance and legal support it seeks to substitute with length, hyperbole, and the settling of scores and grievances,” Middlebrooks wrote."

LOL.

"A 2019 Justice Department inspector general report did identify certain flaws by the FBI during the Russia investigation, but did not find evidence that the bureau’s leaders were motivated by political bias in opening the probe and said the inquiry was started for a legitimate purpose. A separate investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller produced criminal charges against nearly three dozen people and entities and found pervasive Russian interference in the election, but did not establish a criminal conspiracy with the Trump campaign. Alina Habba, a lawyer for Trump, said Friday that Trump would appeal the dismissal."

Surprised?  LOL.

Chief 'Justice' defends U.S. Supreme Court.  ABC News(AP) reports:

"Chief Justice John Roberts on Friday defended the authority of the Supreme Court to interpret the Constitution, saying its role should not be called into question just because people disagree with its decisions."

That's a crock of shit.  Six of the Republican nazis on the Court routinely impose their religious and national socialist ideological views on the rest of us in direct abrogation of their falsely sworn oaths of office to uphold the United States Constitution and rule of law.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"When asked to reflect on the last year at the court in his first public appearance since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Roberts said he was concerned that lately some critics of the court’s controversial decisions have questioned the legitimacy of the court, which he said was a mistake. He did not mention any specific cases or critics by name."

That's goddamned gutless, Chief 'Justice.'

“If the court doesn’t retain its legitimate function of interpreting the constitution, I’m not sure who would take up that mantle. You don’t want the political branches telling you what the law is, and you don’t want public opinion to be the guide about what the appropriate decision is,” Roberts said while being interviewed by two judges from the Denver-based 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals at its conference in Colorado Springs."

Disingenuous bullshit, Chief 'Justice.'  Time for the six nazi Republican partisans on the Court to resign in disgrace.  If not, impeached, convicted, and removed from office.  Won't happen anytime soon with the nazi element in the Republican Party dominating Congress.  You have no credibility.  Have a national socialist agenda you shamelessly impose on the rest of us.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Roberts described the last year as an unusual and difficult one, pointing to the public not be allowed inside the court, closed in 2020 because of the pandemic, as one hardship. He also said it was “gut wrenching” to drive into the Supreme Court that was surrounded by barricades every day."

What did you expect, Chief 'Justice?'  The nazi Republican element on the Court imposed its national socialist ideology on an unwilling public.  The nazi element delusionally believes it owns the uterus of the female half of the population.  Can dictate what women can and cannot do with their uterus.  That's goddamned bullshit, Chief 'Justice.'

"The barriers were installed in May when protests erupted outside the court and outside the homes of some Supreme Court justices after there was an unprecedented leak of a draft opinion indicating the justices were planning to overturn Roe v. Wade, which provided women constitutional protections for abortion for nearly 50 years. The barriers are gone and the public will be allowed back inside when the court's new session begins in October but an investigation into the leak ordered by Roberts continues."

You have zero credibility, Chief 'Justice.'  Neither do the other five Republican nazis on the Court.

"Speaking at the same conference Thursday, Justice Neil Gorsuch said it is “terribly important” to identify the leaker and said he is expecting a report on the progress of the investigation, “I hope soon.” Gorsuch condemned the leak, as have other justices who have addressed it publicly. “Improper efforts to influence judicial decision-making, from whatever side, from whomever, are a threat to the judicial decision-making process," Gorsuch said."

So are the six Republican nazis on the Court.  Time to wake up, 'Justice' Gorsuch.

A concerted, deliberate abrogation of liberty for the female half of the population:

"The leaked draft was largely incorporated into Justice Samuel Alito's final opinion in June that overturned Roe v. Wade in a case upholding Mississippi's law banning abortion after 15 weeks. The ruling paved the way for severe abortion restrictions or bans in nearly half of U.S. states."

The following is little comfort and beside the point.  Readers are reminded the Chief 'Justice' has not been a reliable advocate of all civil and constitutional rights and liberties since his appointment:

"In June's ruling, Roberts, appointed to the court in 2005 by former President George W. Bush, voted to uphold Mississippi's law but he did not join the conservative justices in also overturning Roe v. Wade, as well as Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the 1992 decision that reaffirmed the right to end a pregnancy. He wrote that there was no need to overturn the broad precedents to uphold the state law, saying he would take “a more measured course.”

Mattered not, however, to his five fellow Republican nazis on the Court.

"Roberts has spoken out repeatedly about the importance of the judiciary’s independence and to rebut perceptions of the court as a political institution not much different than Congress or the presidency."

You can't credibly rebut the truth, Chief 'Justice.'  Sadly, figuratively, your head remains securely lodged up your increasingly clueless ass, sir.

"Opinion polls since the leak and the release of the final abortion decision, though, have shown a sharp drop in approval of the court and confidence in the institution."

For damned good reason.  The six Republican nazis on the Court present an exigent threat to all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

The following is meaningless and highly indicative of determined, growing ignorance of reality among the current nine on the Court:

"When asked what the public might not know about how the court work[s], Roberts emphasized the collegiality among the justices and the court's tradition of shaking hands before starting conferences or taking the bench. After the justices might disagree about a decision, everyone eats together in the court's dining room where they talk about everything but work, he said. He said it's not borne out of “fake affection” but a respect that comes from the push and pull of explaining ideas and listening to the responses to them. “We have a common calling and we act like it,” he said."

Clueless.  Achingly, so.  As the U.S. Supreme Court deliberately, determinedly eviscerates civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  Turning a democratic republic into a fascist police-state.

The following is amusingly stunning coming from a Democrat on the U.S. Supreme Court.  ABC News(AP) reports:

"The Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a court order that would have forced Yeshiva University to recognize an LGBTQ group as an official campus club. The court acted Friday in a brief order signed by Justice Sonia Sotomayor that indicated the court would have more to say on the topic at some point. The university, an Orthodox Jewish institution in New York, argued that granting recognition to the group, the YU Pride Alliance, “would violate its sincere religious beliefs." On the other side, the club said Yeshiva already has recognized a gay pride club at its law school."

Called hypocrisy.  Aching, inconsistency.

"A New York state court sided with the student group and ordered the university to recognize the club immediately. The matter is on appeal in the state court system, but judges there refused to put the order on hold in the meantime. The Supreme Court has been very receptive to religious freedom claims in recent years. In June, conservatives who hold a 6-3 majority struck down a Maine program prohibiting state funds from being spent at religious schools and ruled a high school football coach in Washington state has the right to pray on the field after games."

Clearly, the U.S. Supreme Court deliberately ignored The First Amendment Establishment Clause, freedom from religion, in the current unresolved case.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

First Amendment upheld.  In follow-up to an earlier edition of this publication, The Associated Press reports:

"A federal judge on Friday blocked enforcement of a new Arizona law restricting how the public and journalists can film police, agreeing with the American Civil Liberties Union and multiple media organizations who argued it violated the First Amendment. U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi issued a preliminary injunction that stops the law from being enforced when it is set to take effect on Sept. 24. The quick decision came after Republican Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich and the prosecutor and sheriff’s office in Maricopa County told the judge they did not plan to defend the law. They were named as defendants in the lawsuit filed last month. The law was enacted by the Republican-controlled Legislature over unified opposition from Democrats and signed by GOP Gov. Doug Ducey on July 6. It makes it illegal to knowingly film police officers 8 feet (2.5 meters) or closer if the officer tells the person to stop. And on private property, an officer who decides someone is interfering or the area is unsafe can order the person to stop filming even if the recording is being made with the owner’s permission. The penalty is a misdemeanor that would likely incur a fine without jail time. KM Bell, an ACLU attorney who lobbied against the bill at the Legislature and was in court Friday, said they were pleased the judge acted quickly. “We are extremely gratified that Arizonans will not have their constitutional rights infringed and their ability to record the police criminalized by this law,” Bell said."

Readers are reminded:

"Bystander cellphone videos are largely credited with revealing police misconduct — such as with the 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis officers — and reshaping the conversation around police transparency. But Republican Arizona lawmakers say the legislation was needed to limit people with cameras who deliberately impede officers."

No more than blatant bullshit designed to protect and coddle corrupt and abusive jackbooted bastards in blue.

"Tuchi gave the Legislature a week to decide whether it wants to defend the law. The ACLU and media groups are seeking a permanent injunction. Republican Rep. John Kavanagh, a retired police officer who sponsored the law, said he was “taken by surprise” when Brnovich did not move to defend the law. “I was assuming that the attorney general would do his job as the state’s attorney and defend a law passed by the state,” Kavanagh said. “We are trying to get together with the (House) speaker and the (Senate) president and see if the Legislature will defend it, but there’s also the possibility of some outside group possibly stepping up.”

Need to resign in disgrace, Mr. Kavanagh.  Have egregiously abrogated your oath of office to uphold the U.S. Constitution, sir.

"Brnovich’s office is charged with defending state laws. But in this case, his spokesperson, Katie Conner, said that because the attorney general does not have enforcement authority in these types of cases, they were the wrong party to sue. Matt Kelley, an attorney who represented the news organizations that sued, argued in his court papers that Brnovich is not correct. He noted that by law the attorney general can step in and enforce laws that county prosecutors normally would. Kavanagh argued that allowing people to record police up close while they are doing enforcement, like making arrests or dealing with a disturbed person, could put officers in danger, and noted that he made several changes to address the concerns of the ACLU. Those include changing the restriction from 16 feet (4.8 meters) to 8 feet. “So I think this is unbelievably reasonable,” he said. “And if what’s causing the problem is my limiting it to just these law enforcement characters in all encounters, how ironic that trying to limit the scope of government reach is unconstitutional. But I guess that’s the world we live in.”

Time to figuratively remove your head from your achingly clueless ass, sir.  Hundreds of thousands of our best and brightest died fighting your nazi ideology.  Second World War European Theater.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

Ordinarily, the passing of a monarch would not be covered in this publication.  Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is an exception.  Quite a dedicated, remarkable, and gifted woman.  Had a comic streak most were not aware of.  The Washington Post reports:

"James Bond knew it. Paddington Bear knew it. Even her bodyguard chatting to the clueless American hiker knew it. Queen Elizabeth II had a wicked sense of humor. A favorite story about the queen that is doing the rounds on social media involves the time when she was asked by an American tourist who was hiking near her Balmoral estate in the Scottish highlands: Had she ever met the queen? “I haven’t,” said the queen. Then she pointed at her protection officer Richard Griffin and said he “meets her regularly.” After the hiker grilled Griffin on what the queen was like — “Oh, she can be very cantankerous at times, but she’s got a lovely sense of humor,” he replied — the hiker asked for a photo with the bodyguard and handed the queen a camera. (She happily obliged.)"

-- Hard to believe this guy could keep a straight face.  LOL.

"The queen had a sense of humor. Oh boy, did she ever. She stole the show at the Opening Ceremonies of the London Olympic Games in a James Bond skit that had her “jumping” out of a helicopter. And let’s not forget the time when she teamed up with grandson Prince Harry to trade mic drops with Barack and Michelle Obama in a video promoting her grandson’s Invictus Games for wounded veterans. Boom. “Oh, really, please,” the queen deadpanned."

Certainly, knew how to skillfully engage the public to her advantage.

"These sketches alone would be enough to endear her forever in the hearts of Brits. But it’s not only the big showstopper events where she allowed her humorous side to show. She was also said to be a very good mimic. The queen’s dresser, Angela Kelly, once said: “The queen has a wicked sense of humor and is a great mimic. She can do all accents — including mine.” The queen could also dish out quick quips and one-liners. Take her interactions at the Group of Seven summit in Cornwall, England, last year. During a group photo of the leaders, including President Biden, the queen broke the silence by reminding everyone they were “supposed to be looking as if you’re enjoying yourself.” At another G-7 event that year, she went to cut a cake with a ceremonial sword and was offered a conventional knife instead. She refused it, saying that the sword was “more unusual.” The humor was apparent from the very earliest days when a young woman was suddenly thrust into the limelight of the crown. At her coronation in 1953, which was televised and watched by millions around the world, the queen wore very heavy state robes. As the ceremony was about to begin, she asked if the archbishop of Canterbury could give her a tiny push to “get me started.” It continued throughout her reign, especially as the world leaders she met grew younger and younger. In 2015, upon meeting a 43-year-old Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau she remarked, “Thank you, prime minister of Canada, for making me feel so old,” after he said in his toast that she had first appeared on Canadian postage in 1935 at the age of 9."

Clearly, had her other side:

"Which isn’t to say the queen could be described as overly informal — in most situations she was very serious, as befitting the gravity of her position. “You don’t get matey with the queen,” former British prime minister Tony Blair recalled. “Occasionally she can be matey with you, but don’t try to reciprocate or you get The Look,” he wrote in his autobiography, “A Journey.” As the British monarch and head of the Commonwealth, the queen was indeed a figure of dignity and authority, writes Karen Dolby in her book “The Wicked Wit of Queen Elizabeth II,” yet, “as anyone who has ever met with her will tell you, in person she is very warm and human with a well-developed sense of humour.” Dolby recalls how, at one Buckingham Palace summer garden party, the queen was standing next to a party guest when that person’s cellphone rang. “You should answer it,” the queen said. “It might be someone important.” It was thus entirely appropriate that her 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebration featured a comedy skit with Britain’s beloved fictional character, Paddington Bear. In the course of the tea party at the palace, the queen reveals to the gaffe-prone bear that she always keeps a marmalade sandwich in her handbag. And then the two of them tap out “We Will Rock You” with their spoons on china teacups. The crowd watching the prerecorded show outside Buckingham Palace swooned. With the announcement of the queen’s passing on Thursday, Paddington Bear’s Twitter account echoed his final line from the sketch: “Thank you Ma’am, for everything.”

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
