Getting online has gotten increasingly difficult and expensive last four months.  Worse, access is outside since most establishments are closed or limited to drive-thru operations.  Lap tops are not designed to be used in such an environment.  Extremely difficult to see the screen.  Time for the readership to step up and provide assistance.  TC 7-24-20

In response to the pandemic, government quickly imposed draconian restrictions making access to public wifi exceptionally difficult.  Consequently, editions of this publication will be briefer and posted as regularly as possible until circumstances change.  TC 3-20-20

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable.  Time to step up.  Now.

Brother dearest.  ... Been awhile, hasn't it, Bro?  A little antsy?  Wondering when the next shoe is about to fall, that is, when you'll be fully exposed for the thieving son of a bitch you truly are?  Patience.  All in good time, good buddy.  When I'm damned good and ready.  Timing just right.  After all, a son of a bitch who's stolen his father's estate needs to be fully exposed publicly for whom and what he is, don't you think?  Indeed, a public service for your neighbors, professional associates, family, and friends, etc..

Conveniently, forget?  Others need to protect themselves against a fraud who masquerades as both a teacher and a counselor, no?  -- How the hell did you ever pass an MMPI some forty years ago to get hired?  You're not stable.  Have not been.  ... Must have really been pissed off at the old man to rip off an estate, no?  How much did you steal while he was alive and supposedly under your care?

How much did you bribe law enforcement to ignore a complaint I filed with them years before the old man died?  How much did you bribe the prosecutor to ignore a complaint filed with her several years ago?  How much?  Use the old man's money to bribe the bitch?  Her cohorts?  Your law enforcement shysters?  While there may indeed be no justice from a corrupt system, fortunately, I do have a way to publicly expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.

... Unlike our grandmother who scrubbed floors on her hands and knees during the Depression for peanuts, only to have what little she had stolen by her son, our uncle, another goddamned thieving son of a bitch just like you.  Remember how, surprise, surprise, there was no life insurance when our grandfather died?  Despite the fact our grandmother gave her thieving bastard son premium money year after goddamned year?  Only, as the thieving son of a bitch he truly was, to have pocketed it.  Again, just like you.

Remember when he booted her out of the house she had bought him when he had had enough of her?  -- Despite the fact he had lied and promised she could stay the rest of her life?  She had to climb two flights of stairs on an ulcerated leg to get to a bathroom he had never built for her at ground level as falsely promised.   Nothing ever happened to the thieving son of a bitch as far as justice was concerned.  Worse, he was never exposed publicly for the thieving son of a bitch he truly was.

Will be different for you, Bro.  While you've bought off authorities, you will be publicly exposed.  In great detail.  In good time.  When I'm damned good and ready.  When exposure will do the maximum figurative damage to your goddamned sordid reputation.  -- Just the truth, brother dearest, however.  Just the truth.

Irony of ironies?  When the thieving son of a bitch died, and our mother was finally informed he had passed, she cried for her brother, -- the bastard thief who stole from her mother.  Sad, isn't it?  Too bad she's not still alive to see you publicly exposed for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you, yourself, truly are.  As was he.  Not in a court of law you've bought off, however.  Right here.

In good time.  Again, when I'm damned good and ready.  Employing the very same tactics used against Amanda Wright of Wells Fargo.  -- On steroids, however, since all dirty family laundry will be aired.  All of it.  No threat.  A promise.  Emails sent to your neighbors, friends, professional associates, businesses you deal with.  Although an enormous amount of work, all doable courtesy of the Internet.  Despite being some 1,800 miles away.  -- Small world, isn't it, Bro?  Enjoy the stolen loot, you son of a bitch.  Forget?  It's all you have.

Brother dearest.  Save all the check stubs from the old man's accounts?  Fraudulently sign any of them yourself?  Think this material couldn't be obtained from the banks either through discovery or a criminal investigation?  Still own the house on Condict Rd.?   Any other properties besides this one and the old man's you stole with the help of your shyster bastard? Be interesting to see how far your assets extend and where.  Think all that information isn't accessible?  That I won't determinedly obtain it?

That not only an extensive Internet search will be conducted that will likely take months to complete?  But an extensive background check as well?  Think the Catholic high school you attended shouldn't be informed of the thievery of one of its graduates?  Think the clerics there would be appalled at their failure to teach you right from wrong?  How about both universities?  Think neighbors in the old man's neighborhood won't be informed of your deception?  Think they don't have a right to know?

Ever follow the advice of Dr. Bert Wiser, psychological statistics professor at MSU?  That is, get treatment for your achingly debilitating instability?  Is that why you wound up looting the old man?  Or, is it simply a convenient excuse you'll use to defend the indefensible?  Think this will end any time soon?  That is, public exposure of you as a thieving son of a bitch?  We're just getting started, Bro.  Just getting started.

Don't like it?  Tough shit.  Sue me you thieving son of a bitch.  Would use discovery to learn and post on this website all there is to know about you, your activities, predilections, business 'deals,' as well as all your financial transactions, etc..  All of it.  Would certainly avoid the expense of an extensive background check on you, thieving brother dearest.

Even if you were successful in court, there is nothing for you to take, this remains, as well, a homesteading state where minimal assets are protected anyway.  This site is hosted in an overseas country that doesn't particularly like government intrusion, remains not prone to cooperate.  Besides, can always upload to another webhost in still yet another country.  The possibilities are endless, Bro.  Just takes willingness, effort, unshakable determination.

Even if I lost it all would be more than worth it to expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.  Even if you bribed a goddamned nazi 'judge' to remove posted material, would not cooperate and be more than willing to rot in jail.  Would certainly keep reposting it all no matter the cost and/or personal consequences every time it was taken down.  Forget, you thieving son of a bitch?  I never ever give up.

Since all I seek is your exposure for the thief you truly are, would all be worth it.  For the sake of principle.  All the work, financial cost, as well as the time I am about to dedicate to this effort, you deceptive, unstable, sick, thieving son of a bitch.  Unlike you, I live on principle and have absolutely nothing to lose.  You do.  Will certainly take great pleasure and satisfaction in doing all I can to publicly expose you for whom and what you are.

To say nothing of placing enormous pressure on prosecutors you and your equally corrupt shyster son of a bitch apparently bribed.  Don't like it?  Again, tough shit. Chew harder.  The public needs to know to protect itself.  From you and your shyster bastard.  People who live and travel in your circles as well.  Including his.  As a thief, you and he can't be trusted by anyone.  You'll determinedly f--k them.

More than willing to provide this truly public service.  People certainly need to know whom and what you are.  What you have sadly become.  You certainly weren't brought up to be a thieving son of a bitch.  What happened?  Where did you lose yourself, Bro?  -- Never mind.  ... Truly doesn't matter.  Only your exposure.

TC 4-22-16

Hey, Bro?  Remember me?  How soon they conveniently forget.  ... Half asleep? -- Out to lunch?  ... In your own perverse little world?  That of a criminal?  Wake up.  Conveniently, gutlessly forget?  Insanely believe you're someway, somehow off the hook?  Think again.  We're not done.  You remain a thief who will be exposed for whom and what your are.  What you certainly have become.  No question about that.  Patience, you thieving son of a bitch.  Exposure is coming.  Promise.

Think I don't have time?  Truly believe the ongoing Presidential fiasco ends no matter who wins?  The murderous decay in law enforcement gets resolved any time soon?  Criminal Wells Fargo employees from local Kingsland bank manager Amanda S. Wright right up to and including CEO John Stumpf get prosecuted in the near future despite egregious criminal activity?  Wouldn't hold my breath, would you?

Think I don't have time to handle all this and your public exposure for the estate-stealing criminal son of a bitch you've truly become?  How could you steal from the old bastard, you incredibly sad sack of shit?  Certainly weren't brought up to be a thief.  What happened to you?  Where'd you lose yourself?

No question, 2017 will be a most remarkable, defining year for you, Bro.  Public exposure for the thieving piece of shit you've sadly become.  It's on the way. Promise.  Hope you sue.  Nothing for you to take.  Tough, isn't it?  Certainly, makes me judgment proof.  Will certainly, as well, take advantage of discovery.  Publish every detail I can get my hands on.  No matter the consequences.  Only consideration?  Prime directive?  Your exposure for whom and what you are.

Readers?  This not-so-brotherly piece of shit stole from our father.  Manipulated the old man to line his pockets.  Just like our uncle on my mother's side of the family did to my grandmother.  Runs in the family.  Our family.   ... Right, Bro?  This game now gets played my way, -- not yours, you son of a bitch.  That is, no more U.S. Mail tag.

Anything sent by mail will be refused, returned unopened.  Want contact?  Email.  libertyinperil@riseup.net.  Quick.  Easy.  Better yet?  A digital record.  Permanent.  Easily accessible.  Easily uploaded to this site when and if it becomes necessary.  The shyster bastard you hired to steal the estate shouldn't expect escape, either, from public exposure as the thieving piece of shit he, like you, truly both are.  Unscrupulous thieves.

Sincerely hope that piece of crap sues as well.  Nothing to take.  Discovery again would be published no matter the personal cost.  Nothing quite like public exposure, is there?  Especially, when it is nothing but the truth and there is absolutely nothing to lose exposing two pieces of criminal shit for whom and what they are.  Two pieces of gutless human excrement who looted an old man.  ... Right, Bro?

There is no better disinfectant than sunlight, readers.  Glaring sunlight.  Dazzling brilliance.  Amazing how the roaches run for cover.  Equally pointedly, how vermin on two legs manage to so easily prey on the elderly courtesy of the out of control fascist police-state we now live in.  While there'll never be any justice vis a vis this theft, there will be exposure to the brilliant light of day for both criminal perpetrators.  Count on it, you not-so-brotherly criminal son of a bitch.

TC 10-7-16

Hey, Bro?  Hear of Old Sturbridge Village?  Haven't?  ... Not lying, are you, you thieving son of a bitch?  You and your long-term companion EC conspire, bequeath some of the old man's loot to this museum?  An achingly stingy gift of $250-$499, -- considering the size of the estate?  The CEO and Board have any idea you stole it?  Think they'd care?  -- Just getting started, dearest, dearest Bro.  ... Delusionally believe I haven't more than enough time, resources, determination to expose you for the thieving piece of crap you truly are?  ... Under $500 back in 2013?  Remarkably parsimonious with stolen money aren't you?   What does it feel like to have gutlessly ripped off an incompetent old man?  -- Dear old Dad.  Certainly, look forward to digging much deeper into how you and your shyster lawyer managed to bamboozle and loot the old bastard.  Back in the day, certainly wouldn't have fallen for your bullshit.  Would have kicked your worthless, thieving ass out the door.  Intend to expose it to the light of day.  Indeed, a public service. Seatbelts on, you thieving son of a bitch. Tally ho!

TC 3-24-17

... Brief aside, dear readers, for a most exceptional reason.  -- Although infrequent, pressing ongoing personal business must come first on rare occasion.  Hope you agree, moreover, find it entertaining, -- as this writer did crafting what follows.  Principle trumps all.  Remains prime mover, prime directive no matter what.

This pressing issue involves a family thief. A heartless predator preying on the elderly who must be held accountable, exposed to the light of day.  Especially, since authorities failed to do their job.  The following is part of that continuing effort to expose this piece of shit for whom and what he is:

Hey, Bro?  Guess what?  Me, again.  Most determined pain in the ass.  Miss me?  An inconvenient, nagging hemorrhoid that simply won't go away no matter what.  -- A pile with a smile that takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

... Delusionally think this most persistent nemesis of yours conveniently disappeared to parts unknown, vanished in thin air? To give a turd a break?  Wake up.  Not a chance, you thieving son of a bitch.  ... When you insanely believe this writer's gone and you're finally in the clear, guess what, here I am, right in your face.

Despite what's going on across our formerly great country, always have more than enough time for personal business.  That is, exposing you, Bro, to the glaring light of day.  A pathetically greedy predator.  Your target, who else, the elderly.  Most defenseless, vulnerable, an easy fleece.  -- Thought you'd steal from the surly old curmudgeon with impunity, no consequences?

Successfully escape accountability? Avoid detection, all responsibility?  Blatant theft of an old man's estate?  A little help from a bought and paid for hopelessly greedy unprincipled shyster?  Supposed cake walk due to 1800 miles separation?  No one to hold you accountable?  Your feet to the fire?  What could you possibly been thinking?

You've read this publication before.  Know precisely who and what I am, what I do.  Never give up.  Never say die.  Ignore all obstacles.  Know full well Liberty In Peril modus operandi remains as relentlessly ferocious, blindingly intense as ever.

No punches pulled.  No slack.  No personal consideration.  Certainly, not for a gutless son of a bitch, no more than a thieving predator.  Looted target, guess who, dear old dad.  Pitiful.  Delusionally believe you had the booty coming?  An entitlement?  For having had to put up with his shit all those years?  Wake up.

Hear of Historic Deerfield?  Of course, you have, you lying son of a bitch.  Forget?  You're one of their not-so-generous 'benefactors.'  ... With all the money stolen from our father's estate, only bequeath them a piss poor $40 bucks?

Unbelievable.  An achingly tight, cheap, thieving, worthless piece of duplicitous crap.  ... Write-off?  Negligible.  ... Feather  in the cap?  How?  Delusionally believe your treachery would never see the light of day?  What planet do you live on?

Board of Trustees Chair Anne K. Groves know full well you looted the estate?  How about President Philip Zea?  Think both don't have a right to know?  How about Anne Lanning, Vice President For Museum Affairs?  To say nothing of Susan Martinelli, Vice President For Business Affairs?

These officials are entitled to know precisely whom they're doing business with.  A thief.  Gutless phony.  Blow-hard fraud.  Hoity-toity dandy.  Worse?  An unprincipled thief who stole from his father.  ... Glaring light of day sucks, doesn't it, Bro?  No escaping the unvarnished truth, this most bitter reality.  Not a chance.

Saddest of all?  Back in the day, Hell would have frozen over before anyone would have have been able to rip off the craggy old bastard.  Remember quite well how intent, determined he was not to be fleeced late in life by a sick son of a bitch like you.

A leech.  Ironic, isn't it?  Gutless rip off of an old man who couldn't adequately handle his affairs any longer.  How do you sleep nights?

Fraud runs in the family, clearly.  History repeating itself.  Right in the footsteps of our grandmother's son, who callously ripped off his mother decades ago.  Again, another achingly pathetic piece of human excrement.  Just like you.  Intend to lay it bare.  Methodically.  Painstakingly. In great detail.  Living, breathing color.

For all to see.  A public service.  Exposure of the criminal piece of human excrement you truly are.  For sustained public review.  A goddamned thief.  Pissed? Chagrined?  Nonplused?  Tough shit.  Sue.  Would certainly immediately post all discovery no matter the consequences.

All snail mail will be returned unopened.  No phone tag.  Got something to say? Email.  Say it right here.  On this website.  In public.  For the world to see.  Will be posted in its entirety.  No editing.  Unlike you, this writer doesn't lie, cheat, steal.  Honors his word.  Intend to expose you precisely for whom and what you are.

Duplicitous predator who preyed on his own father.  Blinding exposure to benefit the community.  Have nothing to lose providing this public service, but you do.  No better disinfectant than sunshine.

.. Think the old bastard not spinning in his grave?  -- Old lady not doing the same?  One thing for certain.  Neither brought you up to be a goddamned thief.  Yet, here we are.  ... Until next time, Tally Ho!

5-25-18

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Tim Chorney, Publisher
Liberty In Peril

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Two hundred eighty one weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Small sampling of what's to come in this edition.  Read on.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Two hundred eighty one weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Two hundred eighty one weeks.   Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news.  Received an award.  The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road.  To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property.  All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764.  The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago.  The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question.  How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.

7-3-20

Last three months been getting online at the Kingsland HEB.  Met quite a few readers at the picnic table.  -- People I didn't personally know, but who came up and introduced themselves.  Certainly, grateful for your concern, caring, and moral support.  One of the Front End managers, Kevin, had granted permission to plug in and access HEB Customer wifi at the picnic table some three months ago.  Someone in County government must have subsequently complained. Three months after the fact.  LOL.  Finally got the boot 6-27-20 from the achingly gutless Store Manager who couldn't, or wouldn't stand up to pressure from this asshole.

Pathetic, isn't it?  LOL.  Certainly, knew it was coming.  Hard to believe it took three months.  LOL.  Apparently, the gutless Store Manager, Monty, sent out the second in command, Dan, to deliver the happy news.  Spoke to him awhile, but sadly as expected, he had nothing substantive to say.  Other than, "leave."  LOL.  Advised him to send out the clearly reluctant Store Manager who apparently wanted to avoid the encounter.  Finally, came out.  Imagine that.

Asked the Store Manager, Monty Young, for a business card.  Remarkably, he had none.  Couldn't be, could it?  LOL.  An HEB Store Manager with no business card?  How is that possible?  Unlimited corporate greed?  Aryan arrogance of a privately-owned corporation?  Or, was he simply lying?  Informed him he'd indeed be front and center in this next edition.

Before getting into specific detail vis a vis my conversation with the Store Manager, it must be stated staff at the Kingsland HEB is second to none.  Have known many of them for years.  Work extremely well together as a team.  Certainly, exceptionally customer-friendly.  The problem with this store is not staff.  Not even the Store Manager and Assistant Manager per se, -- who apparently, despite their denials, had been pressured by someone.  It's the HEB corporate management suite at the root of most of the problems at this store.

The following salient issues were discussed with the Store Manager before I left.  -- Interestingly, none of which he denied.  LOL.  Readers, have you noticed cheaper generic products are either continually out of stock or discontinued?  Especially, after the store changed its product line weeks before the pandemic.  Apparently, in an effort to emulate the Marble Falls store that caters to the Horseshoe Bay elite.

New larger shopping carts were brought in to the Kingsland store so shoppers would supposedly buy more product, increase store sales.  Shelves are restocked 24 hrs.  Staff was unhappy because aisles are too narrow for the larger carts.  Makes it harder to stock shelves when the store is open.  Not only that, makes it much more difficult for shoppers to navigate the narrow aisles.

Product pricing has steeply increased.  They accomplish this both by directly raising prices, as well as in engaging in deception, that is, downsizing product.  One recent glaring example is their generic bleach.  For awhile, it was unavailable, out of stock.  Then, it was downsized from three quarts to two.  Price remained at $1.  A 33% increase.  Done deceptively.  At a time when inflation is supposedly non-existent.  What ever happened to the HCF quart and a half ice cream that sold for $1.99?  Long since gone.  Both aforementioned products had already been downsized once before.  LOL.  List can go on and on.  Unbridled corporate greed.

As I reminded the Store Manager, Kingsland residents, for the most part, are poor, young, elderly, and/or disabled, etc.  This store now caters to the rich who live on the lake and Sunrise Beach.  Not sustainable.  ... Especially, if the shit finally hits the fan vis a vis the Trump nazi, and/or a second shutdown occurs courtesy of the raging, poorly-handled, achingly mismanaged pandemic.

To store employees, all of whom I admire, consider personal friends, courageously provide your ongoing grievances to this publication.  I will publish them while protecting your identity.  If you won't stand up, nothing changes.

As I informed the Store Manager, the problem in Kingsland is the fact HEB has no substantive competition.  What is desperately needed is a Walmart or other major corporation to rattle the cage of local HEB management as well as the corporate management suite.  Until that occurs, nothing changes, shit happens.  ... Right, Monty?  Dan?

In the last two and a half weeks or so, three middle-aged women tripped and fell on the curb by the picnic table.  Third time, 6-26-20.  Took the Store Manager and Assistant Manager quite some time to exit the store and arrive with ice to quell the swelling of the woman who had fallen hard on her face.  I subsequently asked Monty to consider painting the curb iridescent red or orange to avoid injury and a future lawsuit.

Responded couldn't be painted red since it wasn't a fire zone.  Could certainly be painted orange or some other bright color.  If management doesn't care about a lawsuit, where is its concern for the pain and suffering if a customer trips, falls, and suffers serious injury?  ... Couldn't care less, Monty?  -- Or, is it, shortsightedly, insurance will indeed take care of it?  Wake up.  Just a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and sues the living shit out of HEB.  Even if HEB prevails in court, it loses.  Consider the cost of bad publicity.

To the credit of management, both the Store Manager and Assistant Manager return carts to the front of the store, sanitize them, and pick up trash.  Recently, associates informed me the Store Manager wasn't happy about the performance of the Assistant Store Manager.  LOL.  Apparently, ole' Dan got too good at hiding in the store, shirking cart and other duties, etc.  LOL.  That's apparently changed.  ... Trouble in paradise, boys?  LOL.  Itching to retire, Dan?  LOL.  Give me a break.  Never a dull moment, -- at customer and staff expense.

Finally, to the motherf--ker in County government who likely complained, don't flatter yourself.  Three months?  What took so long you gutless piece of shit?  LOL.  No matter what, Liberty In Peril will remain up and running.  Despite the fact it's been more than 21 years, just the very beginning.  Far more to come.  Far more County corruption, malfeasance, criminal activity to be followed up, and/or exposed.  LOL.  ... Bribed by Johnny Greene, Madam County Attorney?

Readers are advised there is a sticker on the back of the power supply stating:  "Please remove this sticker."  It cannot be easily removed.  Will not peel off.  Have hesitated to scrape it off since doing so might obliterate anything underneath it, -- if anything.  It is not covering a vent and there is no technical reason that it be removed.  Certainly, did not affect operation of the supply for the last year and four months I've had the machine.

No longer.

In follow-up to a case covered earlier in this publication and elsewhere, United Press International reports:

"A Georgia grand jury has indicted the former district attorney who oversaw the investigation of the death of Ahmaud Arbery, saying she improperly prevented the arrests of two men who chased the jogger and shot him. Former Brunswick Judicial Circuit District Attorney Jackie Johnson faces one felony count of violation of oath of public officer and one misdemeanor count of obstruction and hindering a law enforcement officer. Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced the charges Thursday. "Our office is committed to ensuring those who are entrusted to serve are carrying out their duties ethically and honestly," Carr said. "We thank the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Glynn County Grand Jury for their hard work. While an indictment was returned today, our file is not closed, and we will continue to investigate in order to pursue justice."

Get this:

"The indictment accused Johnson of showing favor to two of the three men charged with murder in the Arbery case -- Greg McMichael and his son, Travis McMichael. The elder McMichael was a retired police officer who previously worked with Johnson."

How about that?  Gets worse:

"Though Johnson recused herself from the case because of her connection to Greg McMichael, the indictment said she instructed Glynn County police officers not to arrest Travis McMichael. She's also accused of recommending that Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill take over the case even though she had already consulted him prior to her recusal. She allegedly failed to notify Carr that she and Waycross had discussed the case prior to his appointment. If convicted, Johnson faces up to five years on the felony charge and up to one year on the misdemeanor. The McMichaels, along with William "Roddie" Bryan, each face charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment for the Feb. 23, 2020, death of Arbery."

Readers will recall:

"Video footage from Bryan's vehicle showed Arbery's death as he was jogging through a Brunswick neighborhood less than 2 miles from his home. It shows Arbery, 25, being boxed in by two pickup trucks driven by the defendants. Travis McMichael then appears to get out of his vehicle and shoot Arbery three times with a shotgun. The elder McMichael told police they pursued Arbery after suspecting he'd committed a series of break-ins in the neighborhood, though there hadn't been a string of break-ins reported in the area in weeks. All three men pleaded not guilty to the charges."

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

More of the same prosecutorial abuse of power.  Never ends in a de facto fascist police-state.  NPR(AP) reports:

"A Mississippi man freed after nearly 23 years in prison filed a lawsuit Friday against the district attorney who prosecuted him six times in the killings of four people at a small-town furniture store. Curtis Flowers was released in December 2019, about six months after the U.S. Supreme Court tossed out the conviction and death sentence from his sixth trial, which took place in 2010. Justices said prosecutors showed an unconstitutional pattern of excluding African American jurors in the trials of Flowers, who is Black."

Imagine that.  Racist pieces of shit.

"The lawsuit filed Friday also names as defendants three investigators who worked with Montgomery County District Attorney Doug Evans. The county is not named as a defendant."

Why not?  The County failed to properly vet them during the hiring process.  Failed to monitor job performance during employment.  Why no accountability?  Forget?  Taxpayers were looted to pay these racist pieces of human excrement.

"The suit says Evans and the investigators engaged in misconduct, including "pressuring witnesses to fabricate claims about seeing Mr. Flowers in particular locations on the day of the murders" and ignoring other possible suspects. The Associated Press left a phone message for Evans in his office Friday seeking a response to the lawsuit. The call was not immediately returned."

Surprised?  Forget?  No easy way to defend the indefensible.

"The lawsuit does not say how much money Flowers is seeking, leaving that decision to a jury. "Curtis Flowers never should have been charged," one of his attorneys, Rob McDuff of the Mississippi Center for Justice, said in a news release Friday."

Sadly, get this:

"McDuff said the killings "were clearly the work of professional criminals" and Flowers, who was 26 at the time, had no criminal record.

"The prosecution was tainted throughout by racial discrimination and repeated misconduct," McDuff said. "This lawsuit seeks accountability for that misconduct." In March, a judge ordered the state of Mississippi to pay Flowers $500,000 for wrongful imprisonment — the maximum under a state law that allows up to $50,000 a year for 10 years. That did not preclude Flowers from suing the district attorney and investigators, his attorneys said."

Shit squat compensation for an atrocity perpetrated by the 'justice' system..

"Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch said in September 2020 that Flowers would not be tried a seventh time because prosecutors no longer had credible witnesses and evidence was too weak for another trial. Fitch took office in January 2020 and took control of the case after Evans stepped away from it."

Clearly, Mississippi has a long, long, long way to go.

"Four people were shot on July 16, 1996, in the Tardy Furniture store in Winona. They were owner Bertha Tardy, 59, and three employees: 45-year-old Carmen Rigby, 42-year-old Robert Golden and 16-year-old Derrick "Bobo" Stewart. Tardy, Rigby and Golden died at the scene, and Stewart died about a week later. Relatives of some of the victims have maintained their belief that Flowers is the killer. Attorneys for Flowers say he is innocent. Flowers was convicted four times in the slayings: twice for individual slayings and twice for all four killings. Two other trials involving all four deaths ended in mistrials. Each of his convictions was overturned."

Imagine that.

"The 2019 Supreme Court ruling came after American Public Media's "In the Dark" investigated the case. The podcast recorded jailhouse informant Odell Hallmon in 2017 and 2018 recanting his testimony that Flowers had confessed to him. Hallmon's story of the confession had been key evidence in later trials, but he told the podcast on a contraband cellphone from behind bars that his story was "a bunch of fantasies, a bunch of lying."

How about that?

"The podcast also presented an analysis finding a long history of racial bias in jury selection by Evans, and found evidence suggesting another man may have committed the crimes. After the June 2019 Supreme Court ruling, Flowers was moved off death row at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman and taken to a regional jail. He remained in custody because the original murder indictment was still active, and a judge released him on bail that December.

Amazing how nothing truly changes.

In follow-up to a case covered earlier in this publication and elsewhere, NBC News reports:

"The former Minnesota police officer accused of fatally shooting Daunte Wright during a traffic stop is now facing a more serious charge in the Black man's death, the state attorney general's office said Thursday. Kim Potter has been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the killing of Wright on April 11 in Brooklyn Center, northwest of Minneapolis. The new charge is in addition to a previously filed second-degree manslaughter charge. Potter, who resigned after the shooting and 26 years on the police force, fatally shot the 20-year-old 14 miles north of where George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in 2020. The police chief at the time, Tim Gannon, has said he believes Potter meant to draw her Taser stun device but drew her handgun by mistake."

Readers will recall:

"A short clip of body-camera video released by police appeared to show Wright trying to get back in his car as a female voice shouts, "Taser!" The same female voice could be heard later saying, "Holy s--- I just shot him," as the car pulled away, police have said. The indictment says that she also said, "I grabbed the wrong f---ing gun."

How is it possible?  This was a seasoned officer with 26 years of experience.

"The new charge is first-degree manslaughter by recklessly handling a firearm, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison's office said.

"After the state attorney general took over and reviewed the case, Ellison "confirmed that the original second-degree manslaughter charge is appropriate, but also concluded that an upgraded charge of first-degree manslaughter is warranted," his office said in a statement. The charge of first-degree manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. Second-degree manslaughter carries up to 10 years. That count is based on alleged negligence that created an unreasonable risk of causing great death or great bodily harm to Wright, court documents say."

Readers will recall:

"Wright was pulled over by police because the Buick he was driving had expired tags and an air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror — a Minnesota law prohibits hanging items from mirrors — according to the indictment. While stopped, officers discovered he had an outstanding warrant for a gross misdemeanor weapons violation, the document says. Wright allegedly pulled away from officers and got back into the Buick, at which point Potter allegedly said "Taser, Taser, Taser," and shot Wright once with her handgun, according to the indictment."

United Press International reports:

"The chief prosecutor in Minnesota has filed an additional and more serious charge against the former police officer accused of shooting 20-year-old Daunte Wright dead in April. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison on Thursday filed an amended complaint against Kimberly Potter, charging her with manslaughter in the first degree in addition to her original charge of manslaughter in the second degree. According to the amended complaint, Potter committed first-degree manslaughter by "recklessly handling a firearm when she fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center" on April 11. The second-degree manslaughter charge accuses her of culpable negligence by using a firearm. Potter, a 26-year veteran of the Brooklyn Center Police Department, was arrested on April 14, days after the shooting occurred. In footage taken by her body camera, Potter is heard repeatedly saying the word "Taser" before letting off a single shot from her revolver. The officers had pulled Wright over because the tags on his vehicle were expired and an air fresher was hanging from the rear-view mirror, which is prohibited by Minnesota law. Potter learned that he had an outstanding arrest warrant for a gross misdemeanor weapons violation. Wright was shot as he attempted to re-enter his car as officers were trying to restrain him, according to the complaint."

Readers will recall:

"Following his death, protests erupted in the city, located about 10 miles north of Minneapolis. His funeral was attended by the Rev. Al Sharpton, who delivered a eulogy and vowed to work with civil rights leaders to seek justice for his family. Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon, who resigned following the shooting, said at that time that Potter accidentally shot Wright when she'd intended to use her Taser. The case was originally prosecuted by the Washington County attorney but was later transferred to Ellison, who said he would conduct a review of the evidence and make a decision on the charges. In a statement on Thursday, his office said Ellison confirmed "the original second-degree manslaughter charge is appropriate but also concluded that an upgraded charge of first-degree manslaughter is warranted."

No longer.

State troopers resign in disgrace.  NBC News reports:

"Three state troopers in Vermont resigned amid allegations they had “varying roles” in producing fake Covid-19 vaccination cards, which has prompted an investigation by the FBI, authorities said. Shawn Sommers, Raymond Witkowski and David Pfindel “are suspected of having varying roles in the creation of fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination cards, which may be a violation of federal law,” Vermont State Police said in a statement Tuesday. “The details surrounding this incident, reported to supervisors by other troopers, were immediately reported to federal law enforcement authorities," the statement said. "The state police referred the matter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Burlington." Sommers and Witkowski resigned on Aug. 10, one day after another state trooper raised concerns about their conduct, officials said. Pfindel's resignation became effective on Friday, following an additional investigation by the state's Department of Public Safety, officials said.

"Col. Matthew T. Birmingham, director of Vermont State Police, said the alleged criminal conduct by the former troopers does not represent the values and actions of the dedicated men and women of his department. He also said he’s "embarrassed" the allegations have "tarnished the reputation" of the state police. “The accusations in this case involve an extraordinary level of misconduct — a criminal violation of the law — and I could not be more upset and disappointed,” Birmingham said in the Tuesday statement. “If these allegations are proved to be true, it is reprehensible that state troopers would manipulate vaccination cards in the midst of a pandemic, when being vaccinated is one of the most important steps anyone can take to keep their community safe from COVID-19.” Vermont Public Safety Commissioner Michael Schirling said in the statement: “Based on an initial internal review, we do not believe there is anything more the state police could have done to prevent this from occurring. As soon as other troopers became aware of this situation, they raised the allegations internally, and commanders took swift and decisive action to hold these individuals accountable and report this matter to federal authorities.” Sommers and Witkowski joined the state police in July 2016 and graduated from the academy in January 2017, officials said. Pfindel was hired in January 2014. He became a detective trooper with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations in July 2016, officials said, but returned to work as a road trooper in April 2020."

Insanity in our formerly great country grows exponentially.  Sadly, so.  With deadly consequences.  ... As an unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms.  Hear the rumble?  NPR reports:

"Four people are dead including a mother still cradling her now-deceased baby in what a Florida sheriff called a massive gunfight early Sunday with a suspect "ready for battle" and so aggressive he tried to wrestle a gun from police from his hospital gurney after being captured. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the unidentified suspect was dressed in full body armor — including a bulletproof vest — when he was found outside a Lakeland home that had been "booby-trapped." He did not explain in detail except to say that glass lights were lining the driveway. After a gunfight with police and deputies — where dozens "if not hundreds of rounds" were exchanged, Judd said, authorities entered the home and found an 11-year-old girl shot multiple times, plus three deceased victims, including a mother still holding her infant. A woman at a neighboring home was also killed. Authorities have not released the names of the victims or shooter or a motive for the shooting, but the sheriff said they were initially called out for reports of a suspicious vehicle."

Lack of transparency remains a problem throughout all law enforcement.  ... Leading to lack of credibility, loss of trust:

"A woman encountered "a strange person" roughly nine hours before the shooting who told her, "God sent me here to speak with one of your daughters," Judd said during a news conference Sunday. No other details about the woman's relationship to the shooter or victims were released."

Why not?  Especially, in light of the above quintessentially strange quote.

Get this:

"Police were on the scene within six minutes, but Grady said they found no trace of the suspect or vehicle until hours later when a deputy heard popping noises in the distance around 4:30 a.m. and the agency went into active-shooter mode, bringing all state and local law enforcement in the area to the scene. When they arrived, breakable lights lined the driveway to the home. They saw a truck — believed to be the suspect's — on fire and heard more gunshots. The suspect was also there, heavily outfitted in body armor "as if he was ready to engage us all in an active shooter situation," Judd said, but noting they didn't see a weapon. The suspect immediately ran back into the home, where authorities heard another round of gunfire, "a woman scream and a baby whimper." Officers tried to enter the front of the house, but it was barricaded. When they circled to the back, they encountered the shooter and exchanged heavy gunfire, before the suspect retreated back into the home. Everything fell silent, Judd said, except for the helicopter blades overhead, until the suspect came out to surrender. He had been shot once."

Fortunately, police did not kill him, making it far easier to determine the root cause of his behavior.

"Authorities moved in and found an 11-year-old girl who had been shot multiple times. She told deputies there were three dead people inside, Judd said. Deputies sent robots into the home to check for explosives and other traps. When it was clear, they found a mother with an infant in her arms, and another unidentified victim all dead from gunshot wounds. They also found another woman fatally shot in a neighboring home. The shooter also told authorities he was on methamphetamines. His vehicle had also been stocked with supplies for a gunfight, authorities said, including bleeding control kits."

While this is seemingly insane behavior drug induced, there are countless abusers of this drug who don't engage in such murderous behavior.

"He was a coward," Grady said. "It's easy to shoot innocent children and babies and people in the middle of the night when you've got the gun and they don't." While being treated at the hospital, the suspect jumped up and tried to grab an officer's gun. "They had to fight with him again in the emergency room," Grady said, before he was ultimately tied down and medicated. The suspect is expected to recover and will be transferred to jail to face charges. "There are more questions than answers at this point," State Attorney Brian Haas said at the scene."

As our formerly great country continues to deteriorate, expect more of the above.  Sadly, so.  All, a prelude to an unwanted, dreaded second American revolution.  ... Hear the rumble?

In detailed follow-up, NPR(AP) reports:

"A man wearing full-body armor fatally shot four people, including a mother and the 3-month-old baby she was cradling, a Florida sheriff said Sunday. The shooter, a former Marine, then engaged in a gunfight with police and deputies before he was wounded and surrendered. An 11-year-old girl who was shot seven times survived. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said during a press conference that even after 33-year-old Bryan Riley was arrested Sunday morning, he was so aggressive that he tried to wrestle a gun from police as he lay on his hospital gurney. Judd said Riley, who served as a sharpshooter in both Iraq and Afghanistan, seemed to have targeted his victims at random and appeared to be suffering from mental health issues. Judd said Riley's girlfriend told authorities Riley had been slowly unraveling for weeks and repeatedly told her that he could communicate directly with God. "They begged for their lives and I killed them anyway," Judd said Riley told them during an interrogation. Investigators said preliminary evidence shows 40-year-old Justice Gleason just happened to be an unlucky stranger out mowing his lawn Saturday night when Riley drove by his home in Lakeland, about 30 miles east of Tampa, saying God told him to stop because Gleason's daughter was going to commit suicide. A second, unidentified person also confronted Riley, telling him that story wasn't true and warned they'd call police if he didn't leave, Judd said. He referred to the person as a victim but declined to clarify which one. Authorities responded to the scene but never found Riley. About nine hours later, around 4:30 a.m., Riley returned to the home, laying out glowsticks to create a path leading to the house to draw officers "into an ambush," Judd said. Randomly, a lieutenant far in the distance heard popping noises and immediately put the agency on active-shooter mode, bringing all state and local law enforcement in the area to the scene. Following the sounds of gunfire, authorities arrived at the home and found Riley's white truck ablaze and an unarmed Riley outside, dressed in camouflage. Riley immediately ran inside, where authorities heard another round of gunfire, "a woman scream and a baby whimper," Judd said."

Horrendously, tragic.

"Officers tried to enter the front of the house, but it was barricaded. When they circled to the back, they encountered Riley, who appeared to have put on full body armor including head and knee coverings and a bulletproof vest. Authorities exchanged heavy gunfire, with dozens "if not hundreds of rounds" fired, before Riley retreated back into the home, according to the sheriff. Everything fell silent, Judd said, until a helicopter unit alerted authorities on the ground that Riley was coming out. He had been shot once and was ready to surrender. Meanwhile, officers heard cries for help inside the home, but were unsure whether there were additional shooters and feared the home was booby-trapped."

Uncommon Valor:

"A brave sergeant rushed in and grabbed the 11-year-old girl who had been shot at least seven times. She told deputies there were three dead people inside, Judd said, adding that she was rushed into surgery and was expected to survive. Deputies sent robots into the home to check for explosives and other traps. When it was clear, they found the bodies of Gleason; the 33-year-old mother; the baby; and the baby's 62-year-old grandmother, who was in a separate home nearby. Authorities released only Gleason's name, and did not say if or how he was related to the other victims. Authorities declined to say how many times the victims had been shot or where they were in the home, but said they were all hiding and huddling in fear. The family dog also was shot to death. Authorities said Riley's girlfriend of four years, whom he lived with, had been cooperative and was shocked, saying he was never violent but suffered from PTSD and had become increasingly erratic. She said he'd spent the previous week on what he called a mission from God, stockpiling supplies that he said were for Hurricane Ida victims, including $1,000 worth of cigars. "Prior to this morning, this guy was a war hero. He fought for his country in Afghanistan and Iraq," said Judd. "And this morning he's a cold-blooded killer." Riley, who had no criminal history, also told authorities he was on methamphetamines. His vehicle had also been stocked with supplies for a gunfight, authorities said, including bleeding control kits. While being treated at the hospital, Riley jumped up and tried to grab an officer's gun. "They had to fight with him again in the emergency room," Judd said, adding that Riley was ultimately tied down and medicated. He is expected to recover and will be transferred to jail to face charges. "The big question that all of us has is, 'Why?'" State Attorney Brian Haas said. "We will not know today or maybe ever."

This U.S. Marine veteran certainly appears to have been in desperate need of intensive follow-up care for his PTSD.  Question to be asked is did he get it prior to his murderous criminal behavior?  Also, the continuing lack of transparency by law enforcement in this case remains an egregious problem.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Voter suppression front and center.  NBC News reports:

"Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed a sweeping election bill into law on Tuesday morning, after months of battles with Democrats who fled the state in a futile effort to block the legislation."

Democrats caved into the nazi element in the Republican Party.  Wouldn't stand up to the fascist bastards.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter:

The hypocrisy of the nazi element remains stunning in view of the fact there is, and was, no significant voter fraud in Texas or elsewhere.  Clearly, Republicans delusionally believe voter suppression is the only way they can win elections.

"Flanked by Republican state officials who championed the legislation, including Sen. Bryan Hughes, Rep. Andrew Murr, and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Abbott praised the new law. "Election integrity is now law in the state of Texas," Abbott said after signing the bill."

What a crock of shit.

"He and other lawmakers argue the new rules will make it easier to vote by expanding the required early voting hours in the state. But critics point to the reduction in early voting hours in some of the state's most populous areas, which will now be prohibited from allowing overnight early voting. Three lawsuits have already been filed challenging the new law, but Abbott said he believed the law would survive. "I feel extremely confident that when this law makes it through the litigation phase, it will be upheld in the court of law," he said."

With a Republican-owned 6-3 majority on the U.S. Supreme Court what he claims is likely true.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms on this and a growing number of issues.

"Democrats have called the bill “Jim Crow 2.0” and said the law is designed to suppress access by voters of color. Republicans say the legislation is necessary to prevent voter fraud from occurring, despite broad evidence indicating voter fraud is exceedingly rare. The law bans drive-thru and overnight early voting, which were popular in Houston's Harris County during the pandemic. The bill also adds a new ID requirement for absentee voting and creates a process to correct information on mail ballots. Partisan poll watchers and people helping voters cast a ballot will be subject to a raft of new rules and regulations governing their conduct. Poll watchers will be trained and empowered to move more freely around the polling place and obstructing a watcher will become a criminal offense. Those helping voters will have to fill out paperwork disclosing their relationship and recite an oath for poll workers."

Raw nazism.  In a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

ABC News reports:

"Three months and two special sessions after Texas House Democrats engaged in the first of three quorum breaks over the Republican-backed legislative priority of "election integrity," the final version of the bill officially became law on Tuesday. In its final form, Senate Bill 1 revises the state’s election laws to tighten ballot access and administration. Some of the provisions outlined in the legislation also appear to be responses to efforts taken by Houston-area officials in Harris County to broaden ballot access during the 2020 general election amid the coronavirus pandemic. Although there was no evidence of widespread fraud across Texas following the 2020 election, Republican proponents of the legislation claim it seeks to restore voter confidence in the state’s election parameters. "One thing that all Texans can agree [on], and that is that we must have trust and confidence in our elections. The bill that I'm about to sign, helps to achieve that goal," Gov. Greg Abbott said at Tuesday’s bill signing ceremony in Tyler, Texas."

The Governor is either delusional or a congenital liar.

"Republican supporters of the legislation -- including the state’s Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick -- also praised the bill as a tool for deterring "cheaters" from casting fraudulent ballots."

What fraudulent ballots? Where?  Where in Texas or elsewhere did fraudulent ballots affect the outcome of an election?  Where?  All a ruse concocted by the nazi element in the Republican Party which clearly believes it can no longer win elections without engaging in voter suppression.

"Texas turns out voters because they have confidence that our elections are always going to be fair and Senate Bill 1 will give them even more confidence. We want to see more people vote, we want to see them vote fairly and we don't want the cheaters to undermine our elections," Patrick said during the bill signing ceremony."

Like the Governor, Patrick is either delusional or a congenital liar.  Both men, as well as their fellow nazis in the Republican Party, apparently believe voter suppression is the only way the GOP can win future elections.

"The bill’s transcendence into law signals a political win for Abbott, who made "election integrity" a priority over the course of two special legislative sessions. The move also echoes Abbott’s political alignment with former President Donald Trump, who baselessly attacked the nation’s election processes after his presidential loss in November. The legislation goes into effect in December, three months following the end of the latest special session, at which point it will officially ban drive-through and 24-hour voting sites, both of which were widely utilized in the populous and diverse Harris County -- one of the state’s few, deeply blue political areas."

Democrats gutlessly caved into these bastards.  Clearly, neither major political party is worth a shit.  -- For totally different reasons.

CBS News reports:

"Republican Governor Greg Abbott headed to East Texas on Tuesday where he signed an elections overhaul bill into law that adds more voting restrictions in the state. Abbott signed the sweeping changes during a ceremony in the city of Tyler, where the surrounding county went for former President Donald Trump by a more than 2-to-1 margin last year. The bill signing again underlined the hard right turn Texas Republicans made this year, including a new state law that took effect last week banning most abortions. Texas is among at least 18 states that have enacted new voting restrictions since the 2020 election, according to the Brennan Center for Justice."

Clearly, Republicans delusionally think voter suppression is the only way they can win future elections.  Sad, isn't it?

"The laws are part of a national GOP campaign, including in Florida, Georgia and Arizona, to tighten voting laws in the name of security, partly driven by Trump's false claims that the election was stolen. Six months after the legislation to overhaul Texas elections was introduced, the Legislature passed the sweeping bill, despite the bitter opposition of the state's Democrats."

Democrats ultimately caved into the nazi element in the Republican Party.

"Democrats staged two separate walkouts during the spring and summer that stalled GOP efforts to pass the bill. They say the measure includes unnecessary provisions that may make it harder for some voters, particularly voters of color and disabled voters, to cast a ballot. Republicans counter that the bill will shore up faith in the election system and make it harder to cheat."

No more than a goddamned ruse on the part of the nazi element in the Republican Party.  Here's why:

"There's been no proof of widespread election fraud in the 2020 election, including in Texas."

Get this:

"The bill, SB 1, is closely aligned with the final version of SB 7, which the legislature failed to pass in May because of the first Democratic walkout. Abbott ultimately signed a version that does not include the most controversial provisions proposed: banning early voting on Sunday before 1 p.m. and lowering the standard for overturning election results."

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.

"Here are some of the provisions that are included: In response to the COVID pandemic, Harris County, which includes Houston, allowed people to participate in drive-thru voting, but SB 1 bans mass drive-thru voting. The bill says "no voter may cast a vote from inside a motor vehicle" unless they meet certain requirements for curbside voting. More than 127,000 people cast ballots this way and an analysis by the Texas Civil Rights Project found more than half of the voters who used drive-thru voting in Harris County in November 2020 were Black, Hispanic or Asian. Harris County has a majority minority population. The bill targets another practice that Harris County used during the 2020 election: 24-hour voting. SB 1 requires early voting hours to start no earlier than 6 a.m. and end by 10 p.m. Voters who are still in line when the polls close would be allowed to cast their ballot that night. The Texas Civil Rights Project found that 56% of Harris County voters who took advantage of the late-night hours were Black, Hispanic or Asian.

"There are new ID requirements for mail voting applications and returning a mail ballot. Voters who want to vote by mail will have to provide a driver's license or personal ID number, the last four digits of their Social Security number or a statement that they lack either of those forms of ID. An application to vote by mail will need to be signed "using ink on paper." Electronic or photocopied signatures will be prohibited. Texas already has strict requirements governing who may vote by mail: voters must be 65 years or older, disabled, out of the county on Election Day and early voting period or in jail but otherwise eligible.

"The measure provides protections for poll watchers, including allowing them to sit or stand close enough "to see and hear" election workers conducting their activities. And poll watchers cannot be "denied free movement" in a location where they are serving. Any election officer who "intentionally or knowingly refuses to accept a watcher for service" — when doing so is required — could face criminal punishment. Offenders may be charged with a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $4,000 and up to a year in jail. An amendment passed by the House last week removed a provision that required election judges to warn poll watchers that they were violating a law before they may remove them. The bill also mandates training for poll watchers before they work and requires poll watchers to sign an oath that says they will "not disrupt the voting process or harass voters."

What are the criminal penalties for a poll watcher who does "disrupt the voting process or harass voters?"

"In 2020, Harris County tried to send absentee ballot applications to all registered voters even though only some voters would be eligible to vote by mail. The Texas Supreme Court blocked the county from sending the applications before the general election, but the county did send applications to voters who were at least 65 years old earlier in the year. SB 1 prohibits election officials or public officials from sending absentee ballot applications "to a person who did not request the application." Any public or election official who violates this provision is subject to a state jail felony."

Called voter suppression.

"The bill requires the Secretary of State's office to work with the Texas Department of Public Safety each month to verify that everyone on the voter rolls is a citizen. It's an attempt to root out non-citizens who may have registered to vote when they were either applying for or renewing a driver's license. There were legal challenges when Texas tried to do something similar in 2019."

History will indeed repeat itself.  There will indeed be challenges on a whole variety of voter suppression issues.

"The bill sets new requirements, and potential criminal penalties, for people who assist voters with casting their ballot."

Get this:

"Those assisting voters will be required to take an oath swearing that they will only help with reading or filling out a ballot and that they "did not pressure or coerce the voter into choosing me to provide assistance."

Jesus Christ.  Give me a break.  Where was there any such activity significant enough to affect the outcome of an election?  Where?  There was none.  This is nothing more than a desperate attempt by the nazi element in the Republican Party to suppress the vote.

"Anyone besides an election officer who assists a voter must complete a form with their name, relationship to the voter and whether that person received "any form of compensation" from a candidate, campaign or political committee. If someone helps a voter cast a mail ballot, that information needs to be provided on the envelope. People who drive seven or more voters to the polls must complete a form containing their name, address and whether they are providing assistance to a voter."

Clearly, Republicans are desperate to suppress the vote, limit it only to those most likely to vote Republican.  Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

The Associated Press reports:

"Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an elections overhaul into law Tuesday that adds more voting restrictions in the booming state, after Democrats spent months protesting what they say are efforts to weaken minority turnout and preserve the GOP’s eroding dominance."

No kidding.

"Abbott signed the sweeping changes during a ceremony in the East Texas city of Tyler, where the surrounding county went for former President Donald Trump by a more than 2-to-1 margin last year. But it was far closer in Texas overall, with Trump carrying the state by 5 1/2 points, the thinnest margin of victory by a GOP presidential nominee here in decades.

"Opponents did not wait for Abbott’s signature to begin filing lawsuits against the new Texas law known as Senate Bill 1. The American Civil Liberties Union, minority rights groups and disability advocates are part of a broad coalition that filed separate lawsuits last week in federal court in Texas, accusing Republican lawmakers of violating the federal Voting Rights Act and intentionally discriminating against minorities. Some changes squarely take aim at Harris County in the Houston area, where President Joe Biden carried the county of 1.6 million voters last year by a 13-point margin. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Harris County elections officials offered 24-hour polling places and drive-thru voting, which are now outlawed under the new law. The county also tried sending mail-in ballot applications to more than 2 million registered voters, but going forward in Texas, any elections officials who tries sending an application to someone who doesn’t request one could face criminal charges. Partisan poll watchers are now also entitled to more movement, and election judges who obstruct them could also face criminal penalties, which Democrats argue could lead to voter intimidation. “Black votes were suppressed today. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has intentionally signed away democracy for so many. We are disgusted,” NAACP President Derrick Johnson said in a statement. In response to new voting restrictions in GOP-controlled statehouses, Democrats in Congress want to pass new federal voting rights protections at the federal level but have been unable to overcome opposition from Senate Republicans."

Would take removal of the filibuster to accomplish that.  Many Democrats, including the president, are opposed to doing so.

"White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Biden’s approach on voting rights, saying the president had used his bully pulpit and made Vice President Kamala Harris the point person on the issue. But Psaki said the administration planned to take additional but unspecified steps to address concerns from voting rights groups. “We would say to these advocates: we stand with you,” Psaki told reporters Tuesday aboard Air Force One. “There’s more we’re going to keep working on together.”

Empty, hollow rhetoric.  No more, no less.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Liz Cheney promoted by Democrats.  The Associated Press reports:

"House Democrats have promoted Republican Rep. Liz Cheney to vice chairwoman of a committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, placing her in a leadership spot on the panel as some Republicans are threatening to oust her from the GOP conference for participating."

How about that?

"Cheney, a fierce critic of former President Donald Trump, has remained defiant amid the criticism from her own party, insisting that Congress must probe the Capitol attack, in which hundreds of Trump’s supporters violently pushed past police, broke into the building and interrupted the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election victory. “We owe it to the American people to investigate everything that led up to, and transpired on, January 6th,” Cheney, R-Wyo., said in a statement as Democrats announced her promotion on Thursday. “We will not be deterred by threats or attempted obstruction and we will not rest until our task is complete.”

Rep. Cheney is certainly standing tall.

"Cheney’s appointment as vice chairwoman comes amid an effort by some Republicans to oust Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois from the GOP conference because they accepted their appointments to the panel from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. A draft letter by Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs to Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy obtained by The Associated Press calls Cheney and Kinzinger “two spies for the Democrats” whom Republicans cannot trust to attend their private meetings. Biggs, chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, is calling on the conference to change its rules to state that any Republican who accepts a committee assignment or serves on a committee without a recommendation from GOP leadership “shall immediately cease to be a Member of the Conference.” McCarthy’s office did not respond to a request for comment about Biggs’ proposal. Cheney, who was already booted from her position as GOP conference chairwoman earlier this year, has been undeterred by the criticism, despite serious primary challenges back home. The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney has formed the unlikely alliance with Pelosi in what she has framed as an existential fight for the party and for democracy itself. “Every member of this committee is dedicated to conducting a non-partisan, professional, and thorough investigation of all the relevant facts regarding January 6th and the threat to our Constitution we faced that day,” Cheney said in the statement. “I have accepted the position of Vice Chair of the committee to assure that we achieve that goal.”

Uncommon Valor.

"As the committee has met privately, Cheney has worked closely with Democrats in determining the direction of the probe. The committee’s chairman, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson, said in the statement announcing Cheney’s appointment that Democrats are “fortunate to have a partner of such strength and courage” and that Cheney’s insights have shaped the early work of the panel. Cheney “has demonstrated again and again her commitment to getting answers about January 6th, ensuring accountability, and doing whatever it takes to protect democracy for the American people,” Thompson said. The vice chair position, usually reserved for a member of the Democratic majority, gives Cheney a top role on the panel after McCarthy decided not to appoint any of his members to the committee. McCarthy pulled all five Republicans he had chosen after Pelosi rejected two of them, and he has harshly criticized Cheney and Kinzinger for participating at her request."

Principle trumps partisanship.  Apparently, the nazi element in the Republican Party doesn't think so.

"The committee’s work is just getting started and could last months or years. Thompson issued broad requests for information last week to law enforcement agencies and social media companies about the planning of the insurrection, and this week he asked technology and telecommunications platforms to preserve personal communications surrounding the attack. In July, the panel held an emotional first hearing with four police officers who battled the insurrectionists and were injured and verbally abused as the rioters broke into the building and repeated Trump’s lies about widespread election fraud. At the hearing, Cheney expressed to the officers “deep gratitude for what you did to save us” and defended her decision to accept an appointment on the committee. “The question for every one of us who serves in Congress, for every elected official across this great nation, indeed, for every American is this,” she said then. “Will we adhere to the rule of law, respect the rulings of our courts, and preserve the peaceful transition of power?”

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The fight against loss of abortion rights in Texas ramps up.  NPR reports:

"The dating-app company Bumble has created a special fund to help people affected by Texas' new abortion ban. The CEO of Match, which owns Tinder, is creating a similar fund. Both companies are based in Texas and are led by women. "I'm not speaking about this as the CEO of a company," Match Group CEO Shar Dubey said in a note sent to employees Thursday night. "I'm speaking about this personally, as a mother and a woman who has fervently cared about women's rights, including the very fundamental right of choice over her body." "I immigrated to America from India over 25 years ago and I have to say, as a Texas resident, I am shocked that I now live in a state where women's reproductive laws are more regressive than most of the world, including India," Dubey added."

Sad, isn't it?  We've lost our country.  A democratic republic in name only.  In reality, a de facto fascist police-state.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

Readers will recall:

"The Texas law bans abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy, which is earlier than most people would realize that they've become pregnant. It also extends enforcement powers to the general public."

Not only that, there are no exceptions for victims of sexual assault or incest.

"Match Group says its leader, not the company itself, is creating the fund, which would provide aid to any Match employees in Texas who are forced by the new abortion restriction to seek care outside the state. Dallas-based Match owns Tinder, Plenty of Fish and a dozen other apps. Dubey's message came the day after Bumble, which is based in Austin, Texas, said it was setting up a fund to support reproductive rights. "Bumble has created a relief fund supporting the reproductive rights of women and people across the gender spectrum who seek abortions in Texas," the company said as the state's new abortion law took effect this week. "We'll keep fighting against regressive laws like" the one in Texas, the company said, noting that it was founded by women and is led by CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd. Match Group CEO Dubey also called the Texas law regressive — a "big step back in women's rights," she said, noting that it does not allow exceptions to the ban for victims of rape or incest. Bumble's tweet announcement of its fund has met with a mixed response. Some commenters asked the company to reconsider the move — but others said the company should move out of Texas altogether."

ABC News reports:

"Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas filed for a temporary restraining order against an anti-abortion group in the latest stage of the fight for abortion rights. The request is to stop Texas Right to Life and associates from suing Planned Parenthood abortion providers and health care workers under Senate Bill 8, the six-week abortion ban that went into effect in Texas this week that is the most restrictive abortion law in effect in the nation. S.B. 8 curiously prohibits the state from enforcing the ban but allows private citizens to bring civil suits against anyone who "aids or abets" an abortion."

Kangaroo justice in a de facto fascist police-state.  Democratic republic in name only. Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Texas Right to Life has been at the forefront of the push for civilians to enforce the ban and has launched a website for people to submit claims that they know someone who gave or aided an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy."

Raw nazism.  Readers are reminded abortion was illegal in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.

"The filing claims Texas Right to Life's "threatened implementation of the six-week ban and its enforcement scheme, as well as S.B. 8's fee-shifting provision, would cause imminent, irreparable injury" to Planned Parenthood providers and workers. "Anti-abortion activists are already staking out our health centers, surveilling our providers, and threatening our patients," Helene Krasnoff, vice president for public policy litigation and law, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement. "The physicians, nurses, and clinic staff at Planned Parenthood health centers in Texas — and at abortion providers statewide — deserve to come to work without fear of harassment or frivolous lawsuits."

Readers are reminded:

"The law went into effect at midnight Wednesday after the Supreme Court failed to respond to abortion providers' request for an emergency injunction while the law is being challenged in courts. The Supreme Court later issued an unsigned order refusing to block the law that experts see as blatantly unconstitutional under Supreme Court precedent."

Matters not in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

"In the hours before the law went into effect, abortion providers in Texas raced to provide care for patients up until midnight. Meanwhile, anti-abortion protesters rallied outside. Marva Sadler, Whole Woman's Health director of clinical services, told ABC News on Wednesday that walking out of the clinic in Fort Worth that night was "scary." "We knew that there were protesters out on the sidewalk," she said. "We knew that they were watching our every move. We felt almost infiltrated, as if we were being set up." While the law is in effect, it is continuing to be litigated."

A raucous boot clicking, goose stepping, treasonous, treacherous. traitorous, Seig Heil!, to the nazi element in the Republican Party.

The Associated Press reports:

"A judge has temporarily shielded some Texas abortion clinics from being sued by the state’s largest anti-abortion group under a new law banning most abortions. The temporary restraining order issued Friday by District Judge Maya Guerra Gamble in Austin in response to the Planned Parenthood request does not interfere with the enforcement of the law. However, it shields Planned Parenthood’s clinics, specifically, from whistleblower lawsuits by the nonprofit group Texas Right to Life, its legislative director and people working in concert with the group. A hearing on a preliminary injunction request is scheduled for Sept. 13. The temporary restraining order only shields Planned Parenthood clinics from Texas Right to Life lawsuits and doesn’t prevent Texas Right to Life from suing non-Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in Texas. It also doesn’t prevent people who aren’t affiliated with the Texas Right to Life from suing Planned Parenthood. The law, which took effect Wednesday, prohibits abortions once medical professionals can detect cardiac activity, which is usually around the sixth week of pregnancy and before some women realize they’re pregnant. The law also leaves enforcement to private citizens through lawsuits instead of to prosecutors through criminal charges. Planned Parenthood said in a statement Friday that the law was “already decimating abortion access in the state, as providers are forced to turn people away” once medical professionals can detect cardiac activity. It said historically, 85% to 90% of women who have gotten abortions in Texas were at least six weeks into their pregnancies. In its petition filed late Thursday, Planned Parenthood said that even if it prevails in every case filed against the group, the lawsuits would still accomplish the law’s goal to “harass abortion providers and others critical to a patient’s support network.” The group also said fighting the lawsuits could bankrupt those who are sued, since under the law they can’t recover attorney fees and costs if they win."

Kangaroo justice in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

"Texas Right to Life Vice President Elizabeth Graham said in a statement that her group expects the lawsuit to be dismissed and that, “until then, we will continue our diligent efforts to ensure the abortion industry fully follows” the new law."

A raucous boot clicking, goose stepping, treasonous, treacherous, traitorous Seig Heil!, you national socialist, fascist pieces of shit.  Who the hell are you bastards to force your perverse ideological and religious views on all in direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion?

NBC News reports:

"Organization Texas Right to Life is urging citizens to submit anonymous tips on its website to help enforce the state's new anti-abortion law. So a handful of TikTokers decided to put whistleblowing into their own hands —by flooding the organization's website with Shrek porn (and other deliberately false information). The effort to troll the anti-abortion group was spearheaded by Gen Zers Victoria Hammett and Olivia Julianna, who both said they felt appalled by the recent legislation, which forbids abortions once cardiac activity is detected, which is usually around six weeks of pregnancy. The law also allows private citizens, including people who live outside of Texas, to sue abortion providers or anyone else who helped someone get an abortion after the six-week limit for at least $10,000 per defendant. "Texas has anonymously set up a system where you can report people who have gotten abortions," Hammett, 22, said in an Aug. 23 TikTok video, which has amassed more than 850,000 views. "Wouldn't it be so awful if we send in a bunch of fake tips and crashed the site? Like, 'Greg Abbott's butt stinks.'"

LOL.

"Julianna, 18, a native Texan, said she knew she wanted to take action after learning about Texas Right to Life's website. "I found out about this website and thought, 'We have to do whatever we can if they're going to use the internet against us — the very people who were raised on the internet,'" Julianna said. Shortly after, Hammett posted her own video to raise awareness about the anti-abortion website. Their message quickly exploded. "The reaction has been amazing because people have felt really lost in regards to this anti-abortion legislation, and this was just one way of fighting back against this new law," Hammett said. Many TikTok users, according to Hammett, have deliberately sent fake information to the website, including tips with titles like "Greg Abbott farts" or "calls to abort Ted Cruz."

LOL.

"Some have sent graphic images of Shrek, while others have reported excerpts from the 2007 film, "Bee Movie," or Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" series. TikToker Sean Black, 20, who asked NBC News not to use his real name out of fear for his safety, said he used his own software engineering expertise to get a little more creative. "I coded this bot that basically spams the website with fake submissions," he said. "Once the bot is downloaded, it will automatically open the website, fill out the form with fake data that makes it look like you're in Texas, submit it and then re-submit it, again and again." According to Black, more than 30,000 people have already downloaded the bot as of Friday afternoon. Attempting to crash the anti-abortion website is one of several initiatives that Gen Zers have spearheaded using TikTok as a tool to spread the word. Last year, some users launched an anti-racist campaign to flood some websites and apps that were collecting crime tips with K-pop fan videos."

Get this:

"Though some TikTokers said their submissions have led to the website crashing, Kim Schwartz, the director of media and communication at Texas Right for Life, told NBC News that the organization has not experienced any issues with the website so far. "People who have been saying it crashed are confused," she said in an email Thursday. "If people can't access it, it's because they're blocked. People who have been reporting fake tips get their IPs blocked." Schwartz said the group anticipated trolls, and has implemented safeguards on its website. She declined to specify the safeguards to prevent further spam.

"Even with preventative measures in place, Julianna said TikTokers, particularly Gen-Z teens, are just going to continue to do what they know how to do best. "What these anti-abortion people ought to realize is that this may only seem like a silly, trolling campaign to us young people, but this is our way to try to ruin their plan and buy us some more time to get Roe v. Wade federally codified," she said. "I don't think these anti-abortion people realize the internet isn't their space; it's ours. We grew up on it, and we know how to navigate it." Hammett agreed, adding that she knew messing with the website wasn't going to substantially prevent the anti-abortion law from being enforced. "This effort was to get more people talking about this problem," she said. "The most important thing right now is: We need to do more, we need to protest, we need to phone bank, and we need to go and vote Greg Abbott and these other Republican lawmakers out."

NPR reports:

"GoDaddy will no longer host a site set up by the Texas Right to Life to collect anonymous tips about when the state's new law banning almost all abortions was being violated."

How about that?

"The website promoted itself as a way to "help enforce the Texas Heartbeat Act," since the Texas law allows private citizens to sue anyone who performs or assists in an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy, before many women even know they are pregnant. On Thursday night, officials at GoDaddy informed the Texas Right to Life that it was violating the company's terms of service and would no longer provide hosting, giving the group 24 hours to find another provider before going dark, according to Dan Race, a GoDaddy spokesman. In recent days, the tip line has been inundated with fake reports from TikTok and Reddit users who sought to overwhelm and crash the site with prank messages."

Apparently, Texas Right to Life lied about the true effectiveness of TikTok and Reddit users.

"Some software developers helped further fuel the push to flood the tip line with spam by developing tools to make it easy. Portland, Ore.-based computer programmer Jonathan Díaz created an app, Pro-Life Buster, to generate fabricated stories that would be submitted at random times to the site. More than 1,000 made-up stories had been shared by users."

LOL.

"It's no one's business to know about people's abortions, and such a website is absolutely deplorable," Díaz wrote. "This is why we're pushing back." On GitHub, a site where developers share and collaborate on software code, Díaz wrote: "Hopefully these fake tips help make the system useless." GoDaddy confirmed to NPR that the digital tip line violated its prohibition on collecting personally identifiable information about someone without the person's consent. GoDaddy also bans sites that violate the privacy or confidentiality of another person."

Consider the Aryan arrogance of these national socialist, fascist pieces of human excrement:

"A representative for Texas Right to Life said in a statement that the group will not be silenced and that it is "not afraid of the mob."

Jesus Christ.  What the hell is this?  Reincarnation of Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini?  Readers are reminded abortion was illegal in Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy.

"Our IT team is already in process of transferring our assets to another provider and we'll have the site restored within 24-48 hours," said spokeswoman Kimberlyn Schwartz."

A raucous boot clicking, goose stepping, treasonous, treacherous, traitorous Seig Heil!, you fascist pieces of human excrement.

"Web hosting companies, which provide the out-of-sight infrastructure that keeps the Internet operating, have before come under pressure for hosting divisive content. Amazon Web Services stopped hosting right-leaning social media site Parler, citing its role in inciting violence in the Jan. 6 siege on the Capitol. And GoDaddy, back in 2018, severed ties with conservative social network Gab after it emerged that the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter was a frequent user of the site. Alternative web hosting companies, like Epik, based in the Seattle area, and SkySilk, outside of Los Angeles, often have rescued polarizing sites that are booted from other web hosting companies for violating rules or giving a platform to incendiary or violent content. Officials from Epik and SkySilk have not said whether one of the companies will support the Texas Right to Life site."

NBC News reports:

"For Native American women living on tribal lands, obtaining an abortion has long been a difficult and daunting process. For Native women in Texas, that challenge has been magnified after the U.S. Supreme Court refused this week to block the state's ban on most abortions, underscoring the unique health disparities that Indigenous women have long faced and the potential threats to their health, said Charon Asetoyer, executive director of the Native American Women's Health Education Resource Center. Asetoyer, a Comanche tribe descendant, fears that many Native women, who already suffer from the highest rates of rape and sexual assault, will be unable to find the monetary means to access a safe and legal abortion outside Texas — if that's even an option for them — or be forced to give birth under already strenuous and financially fraught circumstances. Indigenous women in the United States are more than twice as likely than white women to die from conditions caused or exacerbated by pregnancy. "It's certainly a whole other level of mental anxiety and cruelty that's forced upon us," Asetoyer said. "Our right, our human right, to make this decision is being taken from us."

... By the nazi element in the Republican Party which remains determined to force its perverse ideology and religious views on all in direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion.

"She hoped to shine a light on Native American maternal mortality rates. Instead, she became a statistic of it.  Abortion-related data available through the federal Indian Health Service, or IHS, which provides health care access to about 2.5 million American Indians and Alaska Natives, is woefully incomplete, activists and researchers say. Asetoyer helped to spearhead a survey in 2002 that found 85 percent of IHS health care facilities did not comply with the agency's official abortion policy, and at 62 percent of the facilities, staff said that they do not provide abortion services or funding even in cases where the woman's life is endangered by the pregnancy. That is in violation of the Hyde Amendment, which was enacted by Congress in 1976. The measure — whose namesake was GOP Congressman Henry Hyde of Illinois — essentially prohibits federal funds to be used for abortion services except for pregnancies that were the result of rape or incest or if the woman's life is at risk. Many states also require women seeking abortions to have filed police reports within a certain time frame. After the Hyde Amendment was passed, the IHS said it performed 25 abortions over a 20-year period, according to researchers. The IHS did not immediately respond to a request for the latest available abortion-related statistics or comment about the process for Native women on tribal lands who are seeking abortions. Asetoyer said the problem remains that many IHS facilities simply don't have the resources to perform abortions or their employees mistakenly believe that all forms of abortion are illegal. "They don't even provide abortions under the restrictions of the Hyde Amendment," she added. The main IHS website doesn't specifically mention abortion on its "reproductive health" page nor does its health manual reference allowances for abortions related to rape or incest."

Why not?

"Activists say that's particularly troubling given that 1 in 3 Native women are raped or the victim of attempted rape, according to 2012 Justice Department statistics."

Outrageous.  Intolerable.

"Texas' new abortion law is the most restrictive in the nation, and bans such a procedure once a doctor can detect a fetal heartbeat, which is usually around six weeks and may even be before some women realize they're pregnant. The act makes an exception for medical emergencies that would affect the mother's health, but not for rape or incest. Even with the state law in place, Native women in Texas who get care through the IHS would theoretically have more permissive access to an abortion since the Hyde Amendment does make exceptions for rape or incest. But tribal and urban IHS health centers in Texas contacted by NBC News said they do not provide abortion services regardless."

Why not?

"Native women seeking an abortion typically have to venture off the reservation, which can be a taxing experience if the nearest clinic is in a city that might be hundreds of miles away, requiring extensive travel and out-of-pocket costs. Asetoyer, who resides on the Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, said that has been the case in her state, where the only clinic offering abortions — a Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls — paused procedures for seven months in 2020 because of pandemic-related restrictions. More than 450 women had to travel out of state, South Dakota News Watch reported. For those women, particularly Native women living in poverty, getting a safe abortion may simply be unrealistic, said Sarah Deer, a professor of women, gender and sexuality studies at the University of Kansas and a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma. Adding yet another distressing layer to the issue of how Native women have historically been denied their reproductive rights, about 3,400 of them — including three dozen under 21 — were forcibly sterilized by the IHS in the 1970s. The practice was part of the federal government's "family planning" services, and was explored in the 2018 documentary "Amá" about the consequences of coerced sterilization. "Understanding reproductive justice in a historical context is the government saying, 'We don't want you to have babies. We don't want any more Indians to take care of. Your children will be removed,'" Deer said. "The message we want to send now is that all reproductive justice in Indian Country is laden with these really difficult issues."

Outrageously unconstitutional law based on a ruse.  NPR reports:

"The Texas Abortion Ban Hinges On 'Fetal Heartbeat.' Doctors Call That Misleading."

Disingenuously designed to force the perverse ideological and religious views of the nazi element in the Republican Party on all in direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion.

"The term "fetal heartbeat," as used in the new anti-abortion law in Texas, is misleading and not based on science, say physicians who specialize in reproductive health. What the ultrasound machine detects in an embryo at six weeks of pregnancy is actually just electrical activity from cells that aren't yet a heart. And the sound that you "hear" is actually manufactured by the ultrasound machine. The Texas abortion law that went into effect this week reads: "A physician may not knowingly perform or induce an abortion on a pregnant woman if the physician detected a fetal heartbeat for the unborn child." The new law defines "fetal heartbeat" as "cardiac activity or the steady and repetitive rhythmic contraction of the fetal heart within the gestational sac" and claims that a pregnant woman could use that signal to determine "the likelihood of her unborn child surviving to full-term birth." But the medical-sounding term "fetal heartbeat" is being used in this law — and others like it — in a misleading way, say physicians who specialize in reproductive health. What we're really detecting is a grouping of cells that are initiating some electrical activity. In no way is this detecting a functional cardiovascular system or a functional heart. "When I use a stethoscope to listen to an [adult] patient's heart, the sound that I'm hearing is caused by the opening and closing of the cardiac valves," says Dr. Nisha Verma, an OB-GYN who specializes in abortion care and works at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The sound generated by an ultrasound in very early pregnancy is quite different, she says. "At six weeks of gestation, those valves don't exist," she explains. "The flickering that we're seeing on the ultrasound that early in the development of the pregnancy is actually electrical activity, and the sound that you 'hear' is actually manufactured by the ultrasound machine." That's why "the term 'fetal heartbeat' is pretty misleading," says Dr. Jennifer Kerns, an OB-GYN and associate professor at the University of California, San Francisco. "What we're really detecting is a grouping of cells that are initiating some electrical activity," she explains. "In no way is this detecting a functional cardiovascular system or a functional heart." Kerns adds that health care providers might use the term "fetal heartbeat" in conversations with patients during this early stage of pregnancy, but it's not actually a clinical term. "This is a term that is not widely used in medicine," Kern says. "I think this is an example of where we are sometimes trying to translate medical lingo in a way that patients can understand, and this is a really unfortunate side effect of this type of translation."

Precisely, why this needs to change.  Why facilitate, why wind up enabling the nazi element in the Republican Party and all those who oppose abortion to distort reality to force their perverse ideological and religious views on all in direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion?

"The text of the Texas law claims that "fetal heartbeat has become a key medical predictor that an unborn child will reach live birth" and continues, "the pregnant woman has a compelling interest in knowing the likelihood of her unborn child surviving to full-term birth based on the presence of cardiac activity." But obstetricians say that's not how this information is used by health care providers. "We don't use it to date of pregnancy," says Dr. Samantha Kaplan, an OB-GYN at Boston Medical Center and assistant professor at Boston University's School of Medicine. "Or, honestly, to predict that pregnancy is going to continue until delivery." For plenty of people, she says, this activity is detected and the pregnancy still ends in a miscarriage. "There is nothing specific and meaningful and relevant about the detection of cardiac activity at this gestation that implies anything that's relevant for women's health or for pregnancies," says Kerns. "It is one indicator — among many indicators — that a pregnancy may or may not be progressing with some expected milestones." Under the Texas law, women have to know they are pregnant very quickly: "Six weeks is just not enough time." In reality, it would be really hard for a woman to know she's pregnant before the point at which cardiac activity would be detectable by an ultrasound. She would have to be tracking her periods carefully, have regular periods, notice her period was late and then be able to quickly get an appointment with her doctor to confirm a pregnancy. "Periods vary in length — and can be normal — from 21 to 42 days," Kaplan says, adding that "late" periods can happen for many reasons, some of which have nothing to do with being pregnant. "It can be because of stress, it can be because it changes in sleep, changes in weight, travel — all of those things can do it. We actually aggressively counsel women they shouldn't be panicked about being a week or two late." Pregnancies are dated from the start of a woman's last period. A few weeks after that, if fertilization and implantation occur, Kern says, there's "a window of a few days, maybe a week or two at the most, where you can actually detect an intrauterine pregnancy [with an ultrasound] before you detect any kind of cardiac motion or electrical activity," says Kerns. The Texas law is "clearly trying to move the needle back to almost to the point of detection of pregnancy with the goal of outlawing nearly all abortions," she adds."

Raw nazism.  De facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

NBC News reports:

"Hours after Texas’s restrictive abortion law went into effect on Wednesday, Blair Wallace took to Houston’s Tranquility Park with some 60 other people in protest. “It’s not a surprise to me that the Republican leadership at the Texas legislature would allow something like this to go through,” Wallace, a policy and advocacy strategist with the ACLU of Texas, told NBC News. “We know the brunt of this will fall on our Black and brown communities, and our poor communities the most.”

Already, has.

"Wallace is one of many critics of Senate Bill 8, which bans abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy and allows anyone to sue abortion providers or anyone who helps someone get the procedure after the time frame. Wallace, who worked with the ACLU of Texas to halt the bill, and others say it would make getting an abortion in Texas nearly impossible and disproportionately affect poor people who give birth, especially Black and Latino residents. People would have to drive 248 miles on average  to undergo the procedure out of state, up from 12 miles in state, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit organization that researches reproductive rights. People with money could fly out of state to get an abortion. But for those with lower incomes, work obligations, lack of transportation, and financial struggles could make it far more difficult to leave Texas. As many as 8 out of 10 people who need abortions could be forced to continue their pregnancies, according to The University of Texas at Austin’s Texas Policy Evaluation Project."

Ladies?  You no longer own your uterus according to this outrageously unconstitutional law.  The nazi element in the Republican Party most certainly delusionally believes it does.

"Marsha Jones, executive director of The Afiya Center, which partners with abortion centers and provides people with resources to access safe abortion services, said laws like the new one in Texas only perpetuate poverty for poor and Black and Latino people. “When systems are in place that force folks to have children that they cannot take care of, and there’s no system in place to assist them with taking care of those children, nothing but a system that penalizes our parenting, you’re creating generational poverty,” Jones said."

No question.  As intended by the nazi element in the Republican Party to keep the masses under its jackbooted boot heel.  Called power.

"Texas Republicans maintain that the abortion legislation is intended to save lives. But research shows that unintended pregnancies hold people back from completing education and getting and keeping a job, and even lead to poor health and economic outcomes for the children. People denied abortions are more likely to live in poverty, with economic instability and poor physical health."

Texas Republicans are congenital liars lying out their ass.  If they were so concerned with loss of innocent life, they would be screaming bloody murder about all the innocent, unarmed civilians being murdered by the criminal, out of control, jackbooted bastards in blue.  Instead, they defend, protect and coddle these murderous thugs in uniform.  Stunning hypocrisy.  Galling.  Aryan arrogant.  Nazi.

"The move is the latest in a string of Republican-led legislation that would disproportionately impact poor people in the country. Last year, Donald Trump was voted out of the White House after months of historic anti-racism and police brutality protests. This year, in many states, Trump’s party has regrouped and enacted tough new laws on subjects ranging from voting rights and Medicaid to education and abortion rights."

That's right.  Our formerly great country is now a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.  Courtesy of the nazi element in the Republican Party.

"By May, state Republicans had introduced at least 253 restrictive voting bills in 43 states, according to the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law. As of August, eight states had passed election laws that opponents say make it harder for people, placing restrictions on everything from in-person voting to mail-in voting."

Voter suppression.  Clearly, the only way Republican nazis now think they can win elections.

"Officials have said the restrictions would have the effect of silencing Black voters and other voters of color, who are credited with powering Joe Biden’s presidential win. And as oppressed groups battle voter suppression, they must also contend with GOP efforts to limit Medicaid. At least 12 states, including Texas, Florida and Georgia, have refused to expand Medicaid, deciding to stick with Trump-era restrictions that would allow funding caps on health care and work requirements for low-income recipients. “Poverty is a policy choice. It all seems very intentional,” said organizer and activist Johnathan Perkins, who co-hosts “Black&,” a podcast about identity and racism. “There’s no reason that there should be people starving to death in the wealthiest nation to ever exist. And the people who are in power benefit.” “The GOP has made these wedge issues, so they have to come up with laws and enforce them against the people they see as their enemies, or not going to vote for them, i.e. Black people, poor people. That’s why gerrymandering is a thing.”

Democratic republic in name only.  In reality, a de facto fascist police-state to keep the masses under the boot heel of the top of the food chain.

"Gerrymandering has been a major concern for organizers and Democrats throughout this redistricting cycle. This year represents the first redistricting process since the Supreme Court gutted key federal voting-rights protections against discriminatory maps in 2013 and, in 2019, decided to allow partisan gerrymandering. As a result, advocates have warned that in states where they control the legislature, Republicans could draw boundaries that would diminish the power of Black and Latino communities. On Wednesday, a separate Texas law banning homeless encampments throughout the state went into effect. The bill makes it a class C misdemeanor to camp in unapproved public spaces. The move comes shortly after the city of Austin reinstated its public camping ban, approved by voters earlier this year, making it a class C misdemeanor punishable by an up to $500 fine. Organizers across the country who have worked to combat these GOP-led bills said they would only make life more difficult for poor people in the country. Organizers across the country have launched crusades against Republican-backed anti-protest bills, gerrymandering attempts, and laws that would harm and criminalize unhoused people. It is this organizing that Perkins maintains is key to combating legislation that would disproportionately impact poor people. “What we do is look to the people that are doing the good work on the ground of organizing,” Perkins said. “In order to combat what the GOP is doing, we have to trust, support, and follow the Black and brown women who are doing the hard work.”

... As Texas women no longer own their uterus.  --The nazi element in the Republican Party most certainly, delusionally believes it does.

NBC News reports:

"The ripple effect after Texas’ highly restrictive anti-abortion law went into effect was immediate. Within 24 hours, legislators in at least six states — Florida, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, North Dakota and South Dakota — expressed interest in introducing similar legislation."

As our formerly great country continues to nazify courtesy of the nazi element in the Republican Party.

"With state legislatures out of session, most of the bills won’t be introduced right away. But abortion rights advocates say the threat to women’s reproductive freedom across the United States has already begun — and extends far beyond abortion. “It’s important to realize that the attacks on abortion are not the endgame for the anti-choice movement,” said Kristin Ford, the acting vice president of communications and research for NARAL Pro-Choice America. “It is not the sole focus for their efforts or their vision for what the future of this country looks like.” Much of the movement’s efforts center on when a fetus or an embryo is entitled to rights, she said, which has led a number of states to propose “personhood” legislation over the years. The bills typically define human life as beginning at the moment of fertilization and propose legal protection from that moment. Such bills could gain momentum and affect access to contraceptives or what happens to unused embryos in in-vitro fertilization procedures, said Jessica Arons, senior advocacy and policy counsel for reproductive freedom at the American Civil Liberties Union."

Get this:

"She and other reproductive rights experts foresee two consequences of Texas’ law. In the near term, they said, they expect more copycat anti-abortion legislation to be proposed, with other states emulating Senate Bill 8’s first-of-its-kind language. Then, they anticipate that the momentum from S.B. 8 could help the anti-abortion movement achieve its broader ambitions. “Certainly, their long-term goal is not just to eliminate legal abortion in this country. It is to enshrine personhood in our laws,” Arons said."

Raw nazism:

"S.B. 8 went into effect after a divided Supreme Court declined to block it. It bans abortions once fetal cardiac activity can be detected, which is as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, before many women are even aware that they are pregnant. What makes the law unique is how it is enforced. The state government doesn’t ensure it is followed; rather, private citizens, including those outside Texas, can sue abortion providers or people who help women get abortions after the six-week mark, and they can receive $10,000 plus the cost of their legal fees if they win their lawsuits. Having citizens rather than the government enforce the rule “was the linchpin for the Supreme Court allowing the law to go into effect,” said Elizabeth Nash, a state policy analyst with the Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit organization that researches reproductive rights. “They’re outsourcing enforcement. That’s key,” she said."

Outrageously unconstitutional.  No more than kangaroo justice in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

"Arons said the enforcement mechanism is concerning, and not just for reproductive freedoms. “The fact that Texas has discovered this end run around the Constitution by going this route of private enforcement rather than government enforcement is something that really puts every fundamental right at risk,” she said. “I think this is just the beginning, especially if the Supreme Court continues to choose inaction in the face of threats to fundamental rights.”

... Hear the rumble?  Too deaf to hear?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms.  As these perverse nazis in the Republican Party continue to impose their ideology and religious views on all.

"S.B. 8 has made abortions nearly impossible to obtain in Texas. The average one-way driving distance for pregnant women went from 12 miles to 248 miles, according to the Guttmacher Institute. Less than a week after the near-total abortion ban was implemented, other states were already fielding calls from women in Texas in need of services. Last Friday, Dr. Colleen McNicholas, the chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, said her health centers were hearing from women in Texas. “It is a shame that in the most resourced country in the world that people are having to travel hundreds of miles for basic reproductive health care,” she said. Many of the patients are coming simply to get medication, not for a procedure, she added. Missouri, where McNicholas is, could be the next state to ban most abortions: A federal hearing is scheduled this month to review its ban on abortions at eight weeks’ gestation with no exceptions for rape or incest. “I can’t tell you the number of people I’ve heard say things like ‘Roe will never be overturned.’ The reality is it doesn’t have to be overturned for the effects to be completely devastating on a community.”

Thanks to the nazi element in the Republican Party and six Republican nazis on the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Although Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that deemed a woman’s right to an abortion to be constitutionally protected, still legalizes abortions on the federal level, “many of us have already been operating in a post-Roe world,” McNicholas said. “Many of those we serve already have such limited access that the value of Roe has already been decimated,” she said. “I can’t tell you the number of people I’ve heard say things like ‘Roe will never be overturned.’ The reality is it doesn’t have to be overturned for the effects to be completely devastating on a community.”

... Hear the rumble?

The Associated Press reports:

"The Justice Department said Monday that it will not tolerate violence against anyone who is trying to obtain an abortion in Texas as federal officials explore options to challenge a new state law that bans most abortions. Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department would “protect those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services” under a federal law known as the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Garland said in a statement that federal prosecutors are still urgently exploring options to challenge the Texas law. He said the Justice Department would enforce the federal law “in order to protect the constitutional rights of women and other persons, including access to an abortion.”

Has to be far, far more than empty, hollow rhetoric, Mr. Attorney General, Mr. President.

"The federal law, commonly known as the FACE Act, prohibits physically obstructing or using the threat of force to intimidate or interfere with a person seeking reproductive health services."

Been going on for years.  Why hasn't the law been enforced heretofore?

"The law also prohibits damaging property at abortion clinics and other reproductive health centers."

What good is law when it is not enforced?

"Justice Department officials have also been in contact with U.S. attorneys in Texas and the FBI field offices in the state to discuss enforcing the federal provisions. “The department will provide support from federal law enforcement when an abortion clinic or reproductive health center is under attack,” Garland said. “We will not tolerate violence against those seeking to obtain or provide reproductive health services, physical obstruction or property damage in violation of the FACE Act.”

Time to get up off your ass and enforce the law.  Uphold the U.S. Constitution including the Bill of Rights.  To date, you bastards have done a piss-poor job.  Egregiously failed to challenge the nazi element destroying our formerly great country.  In reality, a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.

NBC News reports:

"Hours after Texas’ restrictive abortion law went into effect Wednesday, Blair Wallace took to Houston’s Tranquility Park with some 60 other people in protest. “It’s not a surprise to me that the Republican leadership at the Texas Legislature would allow something like this to go through,” said Wallace, a policy and advocacy strategist with the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas. “We know the brunt of this will fall on our Black and brown communities and our poor communities the most.”

... As clearly intended by the nazi element in the Republican Party.

"Wallace is one of many critics of Senate Bill 8, which bans abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy and allows anyone to sue abortion providers or anyone who helps someone get the procedure after the time frame."

Kangaroo justice in a de facto fascist police-state.

"Wallace, who worked with the ACLU of Texas to halt the bill, and others say it will make getting an abortion in Texas nearly impossible and disproportionately affect poor people who give birth, especially Black and Latino residents. People would have to drive 248 miles on average to undergo the procedure out of state, up from 12 miles in state, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit organization that researches reproductive rights. People with money could fly out of state to get abortions. But for those with lower incomes, work obligations, lack of transportation, and financial struggles could make it far more difficult to leave Texas. As many as 8 of 10 people who seek abortions could be forced to continue their pregnancies, according to the University of Texas at Austin’s Texas Policy Evaluation Project. Marsha Jones, executive director of the Afiya Center, which partners with abortion centers and provides people with resources to access safe abortion services, said laws like Texas’ only perpetuate poverty for poor and Black and Latino people. “When systems are in place that force folks to have children that they cannot take care of and there’s no system in place to assist them with taking care of those children, nothing but a system that penalizes our parenting, you’re creating generational poverty,” Jones said."

As intended by the nazi element in the Republican Party.  A matter of control.  Not to neglect to mention domination by the top of the food chain.

"Texas Republicans maintain that the abortion legislation is intended to save lives."

Delusionally, think so?  Consider the following:

"Research shows that unintended pregnancies hold people back from completing their educations and getting and keeping jobs and even lead to poor health and economic outcomes for the children. People denied abortions are more likely to live in poverty, with economic instability and poor physical health."

How many lives are lost due to this disparity that Republican national socialists, fascists deliberately impose to maintain their status at the top of the food chain?

Get this:

"A string of Republican-led measures that would disproportionately affect poor people around the country. Last year, President Donald Trump was voted out of the White House after months of historic anti-racism and police brutality protests. This year, in many states, Trump’s party has regrouped and enacted tough new laws about subjects ranging voting rights and Medicaid to education and abortion rights. By May, Republicans had introduced at least 253 restrictive voting bills in 43 states, according to the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law. As of last month, eight states had passed election laws that opponents say make it harder for people, placing restrictions on in-person voting to mail-in voting. Officials have said the restrictions would silence Black voters and other voters of color, who are credited with powering Joe Biden’s presidential win. And as oppressed groups battle voter suppression, they must also contend with GOP efforts to limit Medicaid. At least 12 states, including Texas, Florida and Georgia, have refused to expand Medicaid, deciding to stick with Trump-era restrictions that allow work requirements and funding caps on health care for low-income recipients."

Sadly, the following is abundantly clear:

“Poverty is a policy choice. It all seems very intentional,” said organizer and activist Johnathan Perkins, who co-hosts “Black&,” a podcast about identity and racism. “There’s no reason that there should be people starving to death in the wealthiest nation to ever exist. And the people who are in power benefit. “The GOP has made these wedge issues, so they have to come up with laws and enforce them against the people they see as their enemies or not going to vote for them — i.e. Black people, poor people,” Perkins said. “That’s why gerrymandering is a thing.” Gerrymandering has been a major concern for organizers and Democrats throughout this redistricting cycle. This year’s is the first redistricting process since the Supreme Court gutted key federal voting rights protections against discriminatory maps in 2013 and, in 2019, decided to allow partisan gerrymandering. As a result, advocates have warned that in states where they control the legislatures, Republicans could draw boundaries that would diminish the power of Black and Latino communities. A separate Texas law banning homeless encampments throughout the state went into effect Wednesday. The bill makes it a class C misdemeanor to camp in unapproved public spaces. The move comes shortly after the city of Austin reinstated its public camping ban, which voters approved this year, making it a class C misdemeanor punishable by an up to $500 fine."

How do you successfully loot offenders $500 when they can't afford housing?  They'll wind up laying it out in jail at taxpayer expense.

"Organizers across the country who have worked to combat the GOP-led bills said they would only make life more difficult for poor people. Organizers have launched crusades against Republican-backed anti-protest bills and gerrymandering attempts and laws that would harm and criminalize unhoused people. It is this organizing that Perkins maintains is key to combating legislation that would disproportionately affect poor people. “What we do is look to the people that are doing the good work on the ground of organizing,” Perkins said. “In order to combat what the GOP is doing, we have to trust, support and follow the Black and brown women who are doing the hard work.”

NPR reports:

"Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is again under fire for his state's restrictive new abortion law, after falsely claiming it does not force victims of rape or incest to give birth even though it prohibits abortions at about six weeks — which is before many people even know they're pregnant. At a bill signing for a different piece of legislation Tuesday, Abbott was asked about forcing a rape or incest victim to carry their pregnancy to term. He misleadingly replied that the law does not require that and went on to say that the state will "work tirelessly" to "eliminate all rapists." "Obviously, it provides at least six weeks for a person to be able to get an abortion and so, for one, it doesn't provide that," Abbott said. "That said ... Rape is a crime, and Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets."

Think so?  Get this:

"In fact, the countdown for those six weeks starts from the first date of a person's last period (not the "expected" period that was missed), leaving many with only about 1-2 weeks to end the pregnancy, if that, under the new law.

"Reporter: Why force a rape or incest victim to carry a pregnancy to term?

"Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX): "It doesn't require that at all, because obviously it provides at least 6 weeks for a person to be able to get an abortion." pic.twitter.com/Mbx5JVHG1D
    — The Recount (@therecount) September 7, 2021

"Abbott's latest comments are drawing a fresh round of criticism from opponents of the law, which bans abortion as soon as cardiac activity is detectable. Many people don't yet know they're pregnant at that stage, and those who do would have just days to make a decision, attend the state's requisite two clinic visits and undergo the procedure. "Oh please," tweeted Planned Parenthood Action PAC, response to a video of Abbott's comments. "If you don't understand many people don't even know they're pregnant until after 6 weeks, then you shouldn't be restricting their options." (Planned Parenthood has said only about 10-15% of Texans who obtain abortions in the state are fewer than six weeks into pregnancy.)"

Sadly, congenital lying seems to be a problem for nazis in the Republican Party.

"Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York slammed Abbott in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, saying he lacks basic knowledge of biology. "I'm sorry we have to break down Biology 101 on national television, but in case no one has informed him before in his life, six weeks pregnant means two weeks late for your period," Ocasio-Cortez said. "And two weeks late on your period ... can happen if you're stressed, if your diet changes, or for really no reason at all. So you don't have six weeks."

"He speaks from such a place of deep ignorance, and it's not just ignorance. It's ignorance that's hurting people."

"Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slams Texas's GOP Gov. Abbott for defending the state's abortion law by saying he's working to "eliminate all rapists." pic.twitter.com/lAGG731QGP
    — Anderson Cooper 360° (@AC360) September 8, 2021"

Sad, isn't it, the Governor remains so determinedly ignorant?

"As the 19th News puts it, "Six weeks of pregnancy does not mean six weeks to get an abortion." It explains further: "Gestational age begins at the end of a previous period, and the first sign of pregnancy is often missing one's period. A typical menstrual cycle lasts 28 days, or about four weeks. A person cannot get pregnant until after they have ovulated, which generally happens halfway through the cycle." So if someone has a regular menstrual period, they may know they are pregnant as soon as four weeks into their pregnancy, leaving them two weeks to arrange an abortion. People with irregular periods may not know until later, or should take a test — and many tests can't detect pregnancy before a missed period. Plus, not all people are actively monitoring to see if they're pregnant, The 19th adds, with almost half of all pregnancies unplanned.

"Ocasio-Cortez also took issue with Abbott's comments on rape, noting that the majority of people who are raped and sexually assaulted are assaulted by someone that they know. The anti-sexual violence nonprofit RAINN says 8 out of 10 rapes are committed by someone known to the victim. "These aren't just predators that are walking around the streets at night. They are peoples' uncles, they are teachers, they are family friends, and when something like that happens it takes a very long time, first of all, for any victim to come forward," Ocasio-Cortez added. "And second of all, when a victim comes forward, they don't necessarily want to bring their case into the carceral system."

Ocasio-Cortez isn't the only one highly critical of our Governor:

"Democratic Rep. Lizzie Fletcher of Texas told MSNBC that Abbott's talk of eliminating rape is "magical thinking," saying his actions and priorities say otherwise. She pointed to the state's backlog of untested rape kits. However, Abbott did sign legislation in 2019 to tackle that backlog, which one of its Democratic sponsors said this year has reduced that number by 80%. State lawmakers passed several bills this year related to rape kit funding and reform. The Texas Association Against Sexual Assault shared information on how sexual assault survivors can find a crisis center in their area, noting that extensive coverage of the new abortion law "has left many survivors feeling scared, vulnerable, and confused."

"Dear sexual assault survivors in Texas:

In follow-up to last week's edition of this publication, NBC News reports:

"President Joe Biden is ordering the widespread declassification of information collected during the U.S. investigation of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks following growing pressure to do so from family members of the victims."

What took so long?

"The order lays out specific timelines over the next six months for the release of the documents, with some set to be released as early as next week’s 20th anniversary of the terror attacks. Information should only remain classified if its release would pose a clear national security risk, and shouldn't remain classified “in order to conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error or to prevent embarrassment to a person, organization, or agency.” “Information collected and generated in the United States Government's investigation of the 9/11 terrorist attacks should now be disclosed, except when the strongest possible reasons counsel otherwise,” Biden said in an executive order directing the declassification."

Sounds like double talk.  Hedging.  Hopefully, it's not.

"The White House has been under intense pressure ahead of the 20th anniversary from families of victims and first responders who believe the classified documents may show a link between Saudi Arabian leaders and the attacks. Nearly 1,800 people affected by the attacks issued a statement last month opposing Biden’s participation in any memorial events this year unless he released more documents, saying that as a candidate Biden pledged to be more transparent and accused his administration of having ignored their letters and requests. One group, 9/11 Families United, celebrated the announcement Friday and called it a step towards getting justice for their loved ones lost in the attack."

Hopefully, that's the case.  Not empty, hollow rhetoric on the part of the president.

"We are thrilled to see the President forcing the release of more evidence about Saudi connections to the 9/11 Attacks," said Terry Strada, whose husband, Tom, was killed in the World Trade Center. "We have been fighting the FBI and intelligence community for too long, but this looks like a true turning point.”

Hopefully, that's the case.  Especially, in light of the following:

"The 9/11 Commission report found no evidence implicating Saudi leaders in the attack, but said Saudi nationals played a major role in funding Al Qaeda. The Saudi government has denied any connection to the attacks."

Moreover:

"Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said he supports the release of the documents. Legislation was introduced in Congress to declassify the information. “As we near the 20th anniversary of that terrible day, the families of those who were killed, and all Americans, have a right to know the full story, and the passage of time has mitigated concerns over sources and methods,” Schiff said in a statement."

No kidding.  Time for transparency.

"Three previous presidents had declined to declassify the documents with the Trump administration invoking the state secrets privilege in 2019 to justify keeping documents classified."

The question remains, --why?

The nazi right remains hopelessly insane.  NBC News reports:

"Survivors are using new weapons in the battle against conversion therapy. Efforts to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of a minor are prohibited or partially banned in 25 states, but some advocates say this isn't enough. In the recent Netflix documentary “Pray Away,” former leaders of Exodus International, once America’s leading conversion therapy organization, express shame over perpetuating efforts to change people’s sexual orientation and gender identity. The interdenominational Christian organization shuttered in 2013, with then-president Alan Chambers apologizing in a statement “for years of undue suffering and judgment at the hands of the organization and the church as a whole.” One year earlier, in 2012, California became the first state to ban conversion therapy on minors. Nineteen more have followed suit, most recently Virginia, in 2020. Five additional states have partial bans on the practice, which has been associated with “severe psychological distress.” LGBTQ adolescents subjected to efforts to change their sexual orientation or gender identity are more than twice as likely to attempt suicide, according to The Trevor Project, an LGBTQ youth suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit. But despite the growing body of research about its dangerous effects and the condemnations it has received from nearly every major medical association — including the American Psychological Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association — conversion therapy is still being practiced across the United States, both legally and subversively."

Jesus Christ.  What will it take to end this atrocity?

"A 2018 report from the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law found that nearly 80,000 LGBTQ adolescents in the U.S. between the ages of 13 and 17 would be subjected to conversion therapy before they turned 18. A separate report published by The Trevor Project last year found that 13 percent of LGBTQ respondents ages 24 and younger reported undergoing conversion therapy — also known as ex-gay therapy, reparative and, more recently, reintegrative therapy — with 83 percent of those having been subjected to the practice as minors. Opponents of conversion therapy say state bans are not enough, and some of them are employing different tactics to root out the practice. These strategies include having governors issue executive orders to chip away at the practice in states without bans, as Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have this summer. Outside of the political process, though, former patients are also approaching state licensing boards, going on the record and filing complaints against individual practitioners."

When will this insanity end?  How many more victims?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The very top of the food chain remains determinedly protected and coddled.  No justice.  The Associated Press reports:

"The end of the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy case has left a bitter taste for those who wanted to see more accountability for members of the Sackler family. The Sacklers will give up ownership of the company, go out of the international opioid business and pay $4.5 billion in cash and charitable assets under the settlement. But they also will escape any future liability over the nation’s addiction and overdose crisis as part of the deal that was given preliminary approval this week by a federal bankruptcy judge."

Nazi justice.

"Some state attorneys general and one federal government office are planning appeals. The question at the heart of their arguments: Is it appropriate for members of a wealthy family that did not file for bankruptcy themselves to get such a broad protection? Attorneys and victim advocates involved in a case that included lawsuits from some 3,000 governments and other entities said the members of the Sackler family who have owned Purdue played instrumental roles in overseeing the company and marketing OxyContin. Critics say the company’s best-selling prescription painkiller helped fuel the opioid crisis in the U.S. “They get to retain literally billions of dollars they took out of Purdue Pharma while it was causing addiction and death all across our country and all across the world,” Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh told The Associated Press in an interview. Frosh said he was considering an appeal. Lawyers for Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Washington state and the U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee, an arm of the federal Department of Justice tasked with protecting the bankruptcy process, have said they intend to appeal."

Here's the problem:

"Under the settlement, Sackler family members are getting what’s known in the bankruptcy world as a “third-party release.” It’s one of the most contentious issues in bankruptcy law. The releases have been used in complicated bankruptcy cases involving multiple parties to encourage settlements that might be difficult or impossible to reach otherwise. Dow Chemical, an owner of Dow Corning, was released from lawsuits in the 1990s over dangers of the latter company’s silicone breast implants. Owners of companies that produced asbestos were protected from lawsuits over cancer risks associated with their products that began in the 1980s."

Clearly, nazi justice.

"Some federal appeals courts have rejected the releases, but the majority have accepted them. That includes the 2nd Circuit, which could handle appeals of decisions from U.S Bankruptcy Judge Robert Drain, who ruled in the Purdue case from his courthouse in White Plains, New York. Longshot legislation pending in Congress, titled “The SACKLER Act,” would ban third-party releases. Even if it were adopted, it would be too late to affect its namesake case. In his preliminary ruling from the bench earlier this week, Drain discussed at length the reasons he was allowing the protection for family members as part of the settlement. “I wish the plan had provided for more” from Sackler family members, he said, “but I will not jeopardize what the plan does provide by denying confirmation.”

Did they line your pockets, Judge?

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
