Getting online has gotten increasingly difficult and expensive last four months.  Worse, access is outside since most establishments are closed or limited to drive-thru operations.  Lap tops are not designed to be used in such an environment.  Extremely difficult to see the screen.  Time for the readership to step up and provide assistance.  TC 7-24-20

In response to the pandemic, government quickly imposed draconian restrictions making access to public wifi exceptionally difficult.  Consequently, editions of this publication will be briefer and posted as regularly as possible until circumstances change.  TC 3-20-20

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable.  Time to step up.  Now.

Brother dearest.  ... Been awhile, hasn't it, Bro?  A little antsy?  Wondering when the next shoe is about to fall, that is, when you'll be fully exposed for the thieving son of a bitch you truly are?  Patience.  All in good time, good buddy.  When I'm damned good and ready.  Timing just right.  After all, a son of a bitch who's stolen his father's estate needs to be fully exposed publicly for whom and what he is, don't you think?  Indeed, a public service for your neighbors, professional associates, family, and friends, etc..

Conveniently, forget?  Others need to protect themselves against a fraud who masquerades as both a teacher and a counselor, no?  -- How the hell did you ever pass an MMPI some forty years ago to get hired?  You're not stable.  Have not been.  ... Must have really been pissed off at the old man to rip off an estate, no?  How much did you steal while he was alive and supposedly under your care?

How much did you bribe law enforcement to ignore a complaint I filed with them years before the old man died?  How much did you bribe the prosecutor to ignore a complaint filed with her several years ago?  How much?  Use the old man's money to bribe the bitch?  Her cohorts?  Your law enforcement shysters?  While there may indeed be no justice from a corrupt system, fortunately, I do have a way to publicly expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.

... Unlike our grandmother who scrubbed floors on her hands and knees during the Depression for peanuts, only to have what little she had stolen by her son, our uncle, another goddamned thieving son of a bitch just like you.  Remember how, surprise, surprise, there was no life insurance when our grandfather died?  Despite the fact our grandmother gave her thieving bastard son premium money year after goddamned year?  Only, as the thieving son of a bitch he truly was, to have pocketed it.  Again, just like you.

Remember when he booted her out of the house she had bought him when he had had enough of her?  -- Despite the fact he had lied and promised she could stay the rest of her life?  She had to climb two flights of stairs on an ulcerated leg to get to a bathroom he had never built for her at ground level as falsely promised.   Nothing ever happened to the thieving son of a bitch as far as justice was concerned.  Worse, he was never exposed publicly for the thieving son of a bitch he truly was.

Will be different for you, Bro.  While you've bought off authorities, you will be publicly exposed.  In great detail.  In good time.  When I'm damned good and ready.  When exposure will do the maximum figurative damage to your goddamned sordid reputation.  -- Just the truth, brother dearest, however.  Just the truth.

Irony of ironies?  When the thieving son of a bitch died, and our mother was finally informed he had passed, she cried for her brother, -- the bastard thief who stole from her mother.  Sad, isn't it?  Too bad she's not still alive to see you publicly exposed for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you, yourself, truly are.  As was he.  Not in a court of law you've bought off, however.  Right here.

In good time.  Again, when I'm damned good and ready.  Employing the very same tactics used against Amanda Wright of Wells Fargo.  -- On steroids, however, since all dirty family laundry will be aired.  All of it.  No threat.  A promise.  Emails sent to your neighbors, friends, professional associates, businesses you deal with.  Although an enormous amount of work, all doable courtesy of the Internet.  Despite being some 1,800 miles away.  -- Small world, isn't it, Bro?  Enjoy the stolen loot, you son of a bitch.  Forget?  It's all you have.

Brother dearest.  Save all the check stubs from the old man's accounts?  Fraudulently sign any of them yourself?  Think this material couldn't be obtained from the banks either through discovery or a criminal investigation?  Still own the house on Condict Rd.?   Any other properties besides this one and the old man's you stole with the help of your shyster bastard? Be interesting to see how far your assets extend and where.  Think all that information isn't accessible?  That I won't determinedly obtain it?

That not only an extensive Internet search will be conducted that will likely take months to complete?  But an extensive background check as well?  Think the Catholic high school you attended shouldn't be informed of the thievery of one of its graduates?  Think the clerics there would be appalled at their failure to teach you right from wrong?  How about both universities?  Think neighbors in the old man's neighborhood won't be informed of your deception?  Think they don't have a right to know?

Ever follow the advice of Dr. Bert Wiser, psychological statistics professor at MSU?  That is, get treatment for your achingly debilitating instability?  Is that why you wound up looting the old man?  Or, is it simply a convenient excuse you'll use to defend the indefensible?  Think this will end any time soon?  That is, public exposure of you as a thieving son of a bitch?  We're just getting started, Bro.  Just getting started.

Don't like it?  Tough shit.  Sue me you thieving son of a bitch.  Would use discovery to learn and post on this website all there is to know about you, your activities, predilections, business 'deals,' as well as all your financial transactions, etc..  All of it.  Would certainly avoid the expense of an extensive background check on you, thieving brother dearest.

Even if you were successful in court, there is nothing for you to take, this remains, as well, a homesteading state where minimal assets are protected anyway.  This site is hosted in an overseas country that doesn't particularly like government intrusion, remains not prone to cooperate.  Besides, can always upload to another webhost in still yet another country.  The possibilities are endless, Bro.  Just takes willingness, effort, unshakable determination.

Even if I lost it all would be more than worth it to expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.  Even if you bribed a goddamned nazi 'judge' to remove posted material, would not cooperate and be more than willing to rot in jail.  Would certainly keep reposting it all no matter the cost and/or personal consequences every time it was taken down.  Forget, you thieving son of a bitch?  I never ever give up.

Since all I seek is your exposure for the thief you truly are, would all be worth it.  For the sake of principle.  All the work, financial cost, as well as the time I am about to dedicate to this effort, you deceptive, unstable, sick, thieving son of a bitch.  Unlike you, I live on principle and have absolutely nothing to lose.  You do.  Will certainly take great pleasure and satisfaction in doing all I can to publicly expose you for whom and what you are.

To say nothing of placing enormous pressure on prosecutors you and your equally corrupt shyster son of a bitch apparently bribed.  Don't like it?  Again, tough shit. Chew harder.  The public needs to know to protect itself.  From you and your shyster bastard.  People who live and travel in your circles as well.  Including his.  As a thief, you and he can't be trusted by anyone.  You'll determinedly f--k them.

More than willing to provide this truly public service.  People certainly need to know whom and what you are.  What you have sadly become.  You certainly weren't brought up to be a thieving son of a bitch.  What happened?  Where did you lose yourself, Bro?  -- Never mind.  ... Truly doesn't matter.  Only your exposure.

TC 4-22-16

Hey, Bro?  Remember me?  How soon they conveniently forget.  ... Half asleep? -- Out to lunch?  ... In your own perverse little world?  That of a criminal?  Wake up.  Conveniently, gutlessly forget?  Insanely believe you're someway, somehow off the hook?  Think again.  We're not done.  You remain a thief who will be exposed for whom and what your are.  What you certainly have become.  No question about that.  Patience, you thieving son of a bitch.  Exposure is coming.  Promise.

Think I don't have time?  Truly believe the ongoing Presidential fiasco ends no matter who wins?  The murderous decay in law enforcement gets resolved any time soon?  Criminal Wells Fargo employees from local Kingsland bank manager Amanda S. Wright right up to and including CEO John Stumpf get prosecuted in the near future despite egregious criminal activity?  Wouldn't hold my breath, would you?

Think I don't have time to handle all this and your public exposure for the estate-stealing criminal son of a bitch you've truly become?  How could you steal from the old bastard, you incredibly sad sack of shit?  Certainly weren't brought up to be a thief.  What happened to you?  Where'd you lose yourself?

No question, 2017 will be a most remarkable, defining year for you, Bro.  Public exposure for the thieving piece of shit you've sadly become.  It's on the way. Promise.  Hope you sue.  Nothing for you to take.  Tough, isn't it?  Certainly, makes me judgment proof.  Will certainly, as well, take advantage of discovery.  Publish every detail I can get my hands on.  No matter the consequences.  Only consideration?  Prime directive?  Your exposure for whom and what you are.

Readers?  This not-so-brotherly piece of shit stole from our father.  Manipulated the old man to line his pockets.  Just like our uncle on my mother's side of the family did to my grandmother.  Runs in the family.  Our family.   ... Right, Bro?  This game now gets played my way, -- not yours, you son of a bitch.  That is, no more U.S. Mail tag.

Anything sent by mail will be refused, returned unopened.  Want contact?  Email.  libertyinperil@riseup.net.  Quick.  Easy.  Better yet?  A digital record.  Permanent.  Easily accessible.  Easily uploaded to this site when and if it becomes necessary.  The shyster bastard you hired to steal the estate shouldn't expect escape, either, from public exposure as the thieving piece of shit he, like you, truly both are.  Unscrupulous thieves.

Sincerely hope that piece of crap sues as well.  Nothing to take.  Discovery again would be published no matter the personal cost.  Nothing quite like public exposure, is there?  Especially, when it is nothing but the truth and there is absolutely nothing to lose exposing two pieces of criminal shit for whom and what they are.  Two pieces of gutless human excrement who looted an old man.  ... Right, Bro?

There is no better disinfectant than sunlight, readers.  Glaring sunlight.  Dazzling brilliance.  Amazing how the roaches run for cover.  Equally pointedly, how vermin on two legs manage to so easily prey on the elderly courtesy of the out of control fascist police-state we now live in.  While there'll never be any justice vis a vis this theft, there will be exposure to the brilliant light of day for both criminal perpetrators.  Count on it, you not-so-brotherly criminal son of a bitch.

TC 10-7-16

Hey, Bro?  Hear of Old Sturbridge Village?  Haven't?  ... Not lying, are you, you thieving son of a bitch?  You and your long-term companion EC conspire, bequeath some of the old man's loot to this museum?  An achingly stingy gift of $250-$499, -- considering the size of the estate?  The CEO and Board have any idea you stole it?  Think they'd care?  -- Just getting started, dearest, dearest Bro.  ... Delusionally believe I haven't more than enough time, resources, determination to expose you for the thieving piece of crap you truly are?  ... Under $500 back in 2013?  Remarkably parsimonious with stolen money aren't you?   What does it feel like to have gutlessly ripped off an incompetent old man?  -- Dear old Dad.  Certainly, look forward to digging much deeper into how you and your shyster lawyer managed to bamboozle and loot the old bastard.  Back in the day, certainly wouldn't have fallen for your bullshit.  Would have kicked your worthless, thieving ass out the door.  Intend to expose it to the light of day.  Indeed, a public service. Seatbelts on, you thieving son of a bitch. Tally ho!

TC 3-24-17

... Brief aside, dear readers, for a most exceptional reason.  -- Although infrequent, pressing ongoing personal business must come first on rare occasion.  Hope you agree, moreover, find it entertaining, -- as this writer did crafting what follows.  Principle trumps all.  Remains prime mover, prime directive no matter what.

This pressing issue involves a family thief. A heartless predator preying on the elderly who must be held accountable, exposed to the light of day.  Especially, since authorities failed to do their job.  The following is part of that continuing effort to expose this piece of shit for whom and what he is:

Hey, Bro?  Guess what?  Me, again.  Most determined pain in the ass.  Miss me?  An inconvenient, nagging hemorrhoid that simply won't go away no matter what.  -- A pile with a smile that takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

... Delusionally think this most persistent nemesis of yours conveniently disappeared to parts unknown, vanished in thin air? To give a turd a break?  Wake up.  Not a chance, you thieving son of a bitch.  ... When you insanely believe this writer's gone and you're finally in the clear, guess what, here I am, right in your face.

Despite what's going on across our formerly great country, always have more than enough time for personal business.  That is, exposing you, Bro, to the glaring light of day.  A pathetically greedy predator.  Your target, who else, the elderly.  Most defenseless, vulnerable, an easy fleece.  -- Thought you'd steal from the surly old curmudgeon with impunity, no consequences?

Successfully escape accountability? Avoid detection, all responsibility?  Blatant theft of an old man's estate?  A little help from a bought and paid for hopelessly greedy unprincipled shyster?  Supposed cake walk due to 1800 miles separation?  No one to hold you accountable?  Your feet to the fire?  What could you possibly been thinking?

You've read this publication before.  Know precisely who and what I am, what I do.  Never give up.  Never say die.  Ignore all obstacles.  Know full well Liberty In Peril modus operandi remains as relentlessly ferocious, blindingly intense as ever.

No punches pulled.  No slack.  No personal consideration.  Certainly, not for a gutless son of a bitch, no more than a thieving predator.  Looted target, guess who, dear old dad.  Pitiful.  Delusionally believe you had the booty coming?  An entitlement?  For having had to put up with his shit all those years?  Wake up.

Hear of Historic Deerfield?  Of course, you have, you lying son of a bitch.  Forget?  You're one of their not-so-generous 'benefactors.'  ... With all the money stolen from our father's estate, only bequeath them a piss poor $40 bucks?

Unbelievable.  An achingly tight, cheap, thieving, worthless piece of duplicitous crap.  ... Write-off?  Negligible.  ... Feather  in the cap?  How?  Delusionally believe your treachery would never see the light of day?  What planet do you live on?

Board of Trustees Chair Anne K. Groves know full well you looted the estate?  How about President Philip Zea?  Think both don't have a right to know?  How about Anne Lanning, Vice President For Museum Affairs?  To say nothing of Susan Martinelli, Vice President For Business Affairs?

These officials are entitled to know precisely whom they're doing business with.  A thief.  Gutless phony.  Blow-hard fraud.  Hoity-toity dandy.  Worse?  An unprincipled thief who stole from his father.  ... Glaring light of day sucks, doesn't it, Bro?  No escaping the unvarnished truth, this most bitter reality.  Not a chance.

Saddest of all?  Back in the day, Hell would have frozen over before anyone would have have been able to rip off the craggy old bastard.  Remember quite well how intent, determined he was not to be fleeced late in life by a sick son of a bitch like you.

A leech.  Ironic, isn't it?  Gutless rip off of an old man who couldn't adequately handle his affairs any longer.  How do you sleep nights?

Fraud runs in the family, clearly.  History repeating itself.  Right in the footsteps of our grandmother's son, who callously ripped off his mother decades ago.  Again, another achingly pathetic piece of human excrement.  Just like you.  Intend to lay it bare.  Methodically.  Painstakingly. In great detail.  Living, breathing color.

For all to see.  A public service.  Exposure of the criminal piece of human excrement you truly are.  For sustained public review.  A goddamned thief.  Pissed? Chagrined?  Nonplused?  Tough shit.  Sue.  Would certainly immediately post all discovery no matter the consequences.

All snail mail will be returned unopened.  No phone tag.  Got something to say? Email.  Say it right here.  On this website.  In public.  For the world to see.  Will be posted in its entirety.  No editing.  Unlike you, this writer doesn't lie, cheat, steal.  Honors his word.  Intend to expose you precisely for whom and what you are.

Duplicitous predator who preyed on his own father.  Blinding exposure to benefit the community.  Have nothing to lose providing this public service, but you do.  No better disinfectant than sunshine.

.. Think the old bastard not spinning in his grave?  -- Old lady not doing the same?  One thing for certain.  Neither brought you up to be a goddamned thief.  Yet, here we are.  ... Until next time, Tally Ho!

5-25-18

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Tim Chorney, Publisher
Liberty In Peril

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Two hundred seventy four weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

... Small sampling of what's to come in this edition.  Read on.

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Two hundred seventy four weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Two hundred seventy four weeks.   Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news.  Received an award.  The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road.  To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property.  All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764.  The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago.  The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question.  How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.

7-3-20

Last three months been getting online at the Kingsland HEB.  Met quite a few readers at the picnic table.  -- People I didn't personally know, but who came up and introduced themselves.  Certainly, grateful for your concern, caring, and moral support.  One of the Front End managers, Kevin, had granted permission to plug in and access HEB Customer wifi at the picnic table some three months ago.  Someone in County government must have subsequently complained. Three months after the fact.  LOL.  Finally got the boot 6-27-20 from the achingly gutless Store Manager who couldn't, or wouldn't stand up to pressure from this asshole.

Pathetic, isn't it?  LOL.  Certainly, knew it was coming.  Hard to believe it took three months.  LOL.  Apparently, the gutless Store Manager, Monty, sent out the second in command, Dan, to deliver the happy news.  Spoke to him awhile, but sadly as expected, he had nothing substantive to say.  Other than, "leave."  LOL.  Advised him to send out the clearly reluctant Store Manager who apparently wanted to avoid the encounter.  Finally, came out.  Imagine that.

Asked the Store Manager, Monty Young, for a business card.  Remarkably, he had none.  Couldn't be, could it?  LOL.  An HEB Store Manager with no business card?  How is that possible?  Unlimited corporate greed?  Aryan arrogance of a privately-owned corporation?  Or, was he simply lying?  Informed him he'd indeed be front and center in this next edition.

Before getting into specific detail vis a vis my conversation with the Store Manager, it must be stated staff at the Kingsland HEB is second to none.  Have known many of them for years.  Work extremely well together as a team.  Certainly, exceptionally customer-friendly.  The problem with this store is not staff.  Not even the Store Manager and Assistant Manager per se, -- who apparently, despite their denials, had been pressured by someone.  It's the HEB corporate management suite at the root of most of the problems at this store.

The following salient issues were discussed with the Store Manager before I left.  -- Interestingly, none of which he denied.  LOL.  Readers, have you noticed cheaper generic products are either continually out of stock or discontinued?  Especially, after the store changed its product line weeks before the pandemic.  Apparently, in an effort to emulate the Marble Falls store that caters to the Horseshoe Bay elite.

New larger shopping carts were brought in to the Kingsland store so shoppers would supposedly buy more product, increase store sales.  Shelves are restocked 24 hrs.  Staff was unhappy because aisles are too narrow for the larger carts.  Makes it harder to stock shelves when the store is open.  Not only that, makes it much more difficult for shoppers to navigate the narrow aisles.

Product pricing has steeply increased.  They accomplish this both by directly raising prices, as well as in engaging in deception, that is, downsizing product.  One recent glaring example is their generic bleach.  For awhile, it was unavailable, out of stock.  Then, it was downsized from three quarts to two.  Price remained at $1.  A 33% increase.  Done deceptively.  At a time when inflation is supposedly non-existent.  What ever happened to the HCF quart and a half ice cream that sold for $1.99?  Long since gone.  Both aforementioned products had already been downsized once before.  LOL.  List can go on and on.  Unbridled corporate greed.

As I reminded the Store Manager, Kingsland residents, for the most part, are poor, young, elderly, and/or disabled, etc.  This store now caters to the rich who live on the lake and Sunrise Beach.  Not sustainable.  ... Especially, if the shit finally hits the fan vis a vis the Trump nazi, and/or a second shutdown occurs courtesy of the raging, poorly-handled, achingly mismanaged pandemic.

To store employees, all of whom I admire, consider personal friends, courageously provide your ongoing grievances to this publication.  I will publish them while protecting your identity.  If you won't stand up, nothing changes.

As I informed the Store Manager, the problem in Kingsland is the fact HEB has no substantive competition.  What is desperately needed is a Walmart or other major corporation to rattle the cage of local HEB management as well as the corporate management suite.  Until that occurs, nothing changes, shit happens.  ... Right, Monty?  Dan?

In the last two and a half weeks or so, three middle-aged women tripped and fell on the curb by the picnic table.  Third time, 6-26-20.  Took the Store Manager and Assistant Manager quite some time to exit the store and arrive with ice to quell the swelling of the woman who had fallen hard on her face.  I subsequently asked Monty to consider painting the curb iridescent red or orange to avoid injury and a future lawsuit.

Responded couldn't be painted red since it wasn't a fire zone.  Could certainly be painted orange or some other bright color.  If management doesn't care about a lawsuit, where is its concern for the pain and suffering if a customer trips, falls, and suffers serious injury?  ... Couldn't care less, Monty?  -- Or, is it, shortsightedly, insurance will indeed take care of it?  Wake up.  Just a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and sues the living shit out of HEB.  Even if HEB prevails in court, it loses.  Consider the cost of bad publicity.

To the credit of management, both the Store Manager and Assistant Manager return carts to the front of the store, sanitize them, and pick up trash.  Recently, associates informed me the Store Manager wasn't happy about the performance of the Assistant Store Manager.  LOL.  Apparently, ole' Dan got too good at hiding in the store, shirking cart and other duties, etc.  LOL.  That's apparently changed.  ... Trouble in paradise, boys?  LOL.  Itching to retire, Dan?  LOL.  Give me a break.  Never a dull moment, -- at customer and staff expense.

Finally, to the motherf--ker in County government who likely complained, don't flatter yourself.  Three months?  What took so long you gutless piece of shit?  LOL.  No matter what, Liberty In Peril will remain up and running.  Despite the fact it's been more than 21 years, just the very beginning.  Far more to come.  Far more County corruption, malfeasance, criminal activity to be followed up, and/or exposed.  LOL.  ... Bribed by Johnny Greene, Madam County Attorney?

Readers are advised there is a sticker on the back of the power supply stating:  "Please remove this sticker."  It cannot be easily removed.  Will not peel off.  Have hesitated to scrape it off since doing so might obliterate anything underneath it, -- if anything.  It is not covering a vent and there is no technical reason that it be removed.  Certainly, did not affect operation of the supply for the last year and four months I've had the machine.

Nearly sixty years ago, a Black woman stood tall.  Courageously stood up to a white National Guardsman with a bayonet pointed at her.  Uncommon Valor. Seatbelts on.  NPR(AP) reports:

"Gloria Richardson, an influential yet largely unsung civil rights pioneer whose determination not to back down while protesting racial inequality was captured in a photograph as she pushed away the bayonet of a National Guardsman, has died. She was 99."

Uncommon Valor.  Extraordinary courage.  Hard to believe some sixty years ago a soldier would point a bayonet at a fellow American.  The photograph, indeed, chilling.

"Tya Young, her granddaughter, said Richardson died in her sleep Thursday in New York City and had not been ill. Young said while her grandmother was at the forefront of the civil rights movement, she didn't seek praise or recognition. "She did it because it needed to be done, and she was born a leader," Young said. Richardson was the first woman to lead a prolonged grassroots civil rights movement outside the Deep South. In 1962, she helped organize and led the Cambridge Movement on Maryland's Eastern Shore with sit-ins to desegregate restaurants, bowling alleys and movie theaters in protests that marked an early part of the Black Power movement. "I say that the Cambridge Movement was the soil in which Richardson planted a seed of Black power and nurtured its growth," said Joseph R. Fitzgerald, who wrote a 2018 biography on Richardson titled "The Struggle is Eternal: Gloria Richardson and Black Liberation." Richardson became the leader of demonstrations over bread and butter economic issues like jobs, health care access and sufficient housing. "Everything that the Black Lives Matter movement is working at right now is a continuation of what the Cambridge Movement was doing," Fitzgerald said. In pursuit of these goals, Richardson advocated for the right of Black people to defend themselves when attacked. "Richardson always supported the use of nonviolent direct action during protests, but once the protests were over and if Black people were attacked by whites she fully supported their right to defend themselves," Fitzgerald said. Richardson was born in Baltimore and later lived in Cambridge in Maryland's Dorchester County — the same county where Harriet Tubman was born. She entered Howard University when she was 16. During her years in Washington, she began to protest segregation at a drug store. In 1962, Richardson attended the meeting of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee in Atlanta and later joined the board."

Ms. Richardson was quite an exceptional woman:

"In the summer of 1963, after peaceful sit-ins turned violent in Cambridge, Gov. J. Millard Tawes declared martial law. When Cambridge Mayor Calvin Mowbray asked Richardson to halt the demonstrations in exchange for an end to the arrests of Black protesters, Richardson declined to do so. On June 11, rioting by white supremacists erupted and Tawes called in the National Guard. While the city was still under National Guard presence, Richardson met with U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy to negotiate what became informally known as the "Treaty of Cambridge." It ordered equal access to public accommodations in Cambridge in return for a one-year moratorium on demonstrations. Richardson was a signatory to the treaty, but she had never agreed to end the demonstrations. It was only the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that began to resolve issues at the local level. She was one of the nation's leading female civil rights' activists and inspired younger activists who went on to protest racial inequality in the late 1960s and into the 1970s. Richardson was on the stage at the pivotal March on Washington in 1963 as one of six women listed as "fighters for freedom" on the program. However, she was only allowed to say "hello" before the microphone was taken. The male-centric Black Power movement and the fact that Richardson's leadership in Cambridge lasted about three years may have obscured how influential she was, but Fitzgerald said she was well-known in Black America. "She was only active for approximately three years, but during that time she was literally front and center in a high-stakes Black liberation campaign, and she's being threatened," Fitzgerald said. "She's got white supremacist terrorists threatening her, calling her house, threatening her with her life." Richardson resigned from Cambridge, Maryland, Nonviolent Action Committee in the summer of 1964. Divorced from her first husband, she married photographer Frank Dandridge and moved to New York where she worked a variety of jobs, including the National Council for Negro Women. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Orange and Tamara Richardson, and granddaughters Young and Michelle Price."

Uncommon Valor.  Exceptional courage.  Hat's off.

A step in the right direction.  United Press International reports:

"The Pentagon says a woman has successfully completed the U.S. Navy's Special Warfare training for the first time, making her eligible for elite commando units like the SEALs."

Quite an accomplishment.

"The woman -- who was not named, as is standard under Navy policy -- was among 17 graduates of Crewman Qualification Training Class 115 that finished the Naval Special Warfare assessment, the Navy said in a statement on Thursday. The successful completion of the 37-week training opens the door for the woman to become a special warfare combatant-craft crewman. The Navy says only 35% of those who begin the rigorous training make it through to graduation and are chosen partly based on character and cognitive and leadership attributes."

Get this:

"In 1973, women accounted for just 2% of all enlisted U.S. military personnel and 8% of officers. By 2018, those figures had risen to 16% and 19%, respectively. "Becoming the first woman to graduate from a Naval Special Warfare training pipeline is an extraordinary accomplishment, and we are incredibly proud of our teammate," Rear Adm. H. W. Howard III, commander of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, said in a statement. "Like her fellow operators, she demonstrated the character, cognitive and leadership attributes required to join our force.' The Naval Special Warfare Center, located on Naval Amphibious Base Coronado near San Diego, provides initial assessment and selection and subsequent advanced training to the sailors who make up the Navy's SEAL and Special Boat communities."

Hat's off.

Uncommon Valor.  Very best in policing.  ABC News reports:

"A police officer is being hailed as a hero after incredible footage from his body camera showed him responding to a building engulfed in flames before saving the occupants’ lives by catching them when they jumped out of a window. The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Monday, July 19, in Jamestown, New York -- about 70 miles southwest of Buffalo -- when Officer Mark Conklin was handling a service call on Baker Street and he was alerted to a possible house fire about a block away on William Street, according to a statement from the Jamestown Police Department. Officer Conklin can then be seen running to the burning home where he found “children and an adult trapped in the upstairs of the residence,” according to the Jamestown Police Department. “I believe there is entrapment,” he can be heard saying as he approaches the home. “I’m getting people out right now.” He then calls over to a witness asking for the address of the building before requesting help over his radio from the Jamestown Fire Department. The home is almost completely engulfed in flames when Conklin arrives and screams and cries can be heard from the occupants before Conklin directs them to jump from the window. “I got you! I got you!” Conklin yells at the person in the burning building. “Jump! I got you, I got you!”

Uncommon Valor.  Outstanding officer.

“I can say that I have seen many examples of heroism over the years by officers,” said Jamestown Police Chief Tim Jackson in a statement posted on social media with a portion of Conklin’s body camera footage. “After watching the video of this incident and speaking to others involved, I can say that the actions of Officer Conklin were, to say the least, one of the most outstanding examples of bravery, heroism, and exemplary service I have seen. We, the Jamestown Police Department, are honored to have officers such as Mark Conklin working in the Jamestown Police Department.” Jackson continued. Authorities did not disclose how many people Conklin was able to save or their condition after the fire but there were no reported deaths in the incident."

How about that?

“Words can’t describe this act of heroism by Jamestown Police Department at the fire on William St last night,” said the Jamestown Fire Department in a post on Facebook. “Thank you!” It is currently unclear how the fire began in the first place but investigations into how it started are ongoing."

Companionship extends across two generations nearly a hundred years apart.  Seatbelts on.  CBS News reports:

"Mary uses a cane. Benjamin recently learned how to walk. Mary is 99. Benjamin is 2. The neighbors may seem like unlikely friends, but during the pandemic, they formed a unique bond at the fence between their houses in Minneapolis. "Benjamin just turned 2 years old, we've been neighbors with Mary long before he was born," Benjamin's mom, Sarah Olson said. They didn't see Mary much, but last year when the pandemic hit and the family had to stay home, Mary was someone they could see — outside. During the pandemic, the Olsons started playing in their yard more, and Mary would be in hers. As Benjamin grew over the year, learning to walk and talk, he started to play with Mary more. "He would run over to Mary when he would see her in the yard and he would bring her a ball," Olson said. "And she created this game that we call Ping Ball, where Benjamin brings her a ball and Mary reaches her cane over our fence, flips it over and kind of kicks it to Benjamin back and forth." There's a 97-year age gap, but Ben doesn't see it. "She's just Mary, or in the past couple of days, he's been calling her 'Mimi,'" Olson said. "We'll be playing inside and he'll go, 'Mimi? Mimi?' and we'll go outside and look for Mimi." "She'll call out, 'Hey Benjamin!' when she sees him, and it's just been so cute to watch it," she said.  For Mary, who was isolated alone during the pandemic, a friend was just what she needed. "We learned how much she looked forward to seeing him playing in the yard and how Benjamin kind of kept her going in the pandemic when she wasn't able to see anyone else," Olson said. It seems Mary has rediscovered a childlike spirit with Benjamin, playing with bubbles and even water guns. She has one granddaughter, who is already an adult, and she said Benjamin is the closest thing to grandkids or great-grandkids she has right now, Olson said.  More than a year after they first started playing together, Benjamin and Mary still enjoy each other's company. Olson said she thinks her son and neighbor's friendship resonates with so many because people like to see relationships form so naturally for young people and elderly people. "We didn't have to work on it at all, it just happened really naturally," she said. "Friendship can just happen so many different ways, I'm just really happy they were able to form this friendship – quarantine or not, pandemic or not," she said.  "I'm happy they formed this friendship because it means a lot to her and it means a lot to him too."

Indeed.  ... Were the above all that had to be covered here.  Sadly, not to be:

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Out on bail.  Think this son of a bitch could not be a threat to another woman?  The Washington Post reports:

"After being held against her will for months in western Pennsylvania, a woman began scrawling desperate pleas for help on scraps of paper last week, secretly leaving the notes in public bathrooms for others to find whenever she was taken outside. She urged readers to call 911 and tell police where to find her and her alleged captor. Police did not find her after the first note, so she left another begging them to keep looking. “If I don’t make it tell my family I love them,” she wrote in one of the clandestine messages, KDKA reported. On Sunday, police finally found the woman and 38-year-old Corey Brewer, who allegedly held the victim captive for more than two months and was charged with multiple crimes, including sexual assault and strangulation. The victim, who wasn’t named, said she had been held against her will since May 1 and accused Brewer of threatening to kill her and her children if she tried to escape, according to KDKA. An attorney for Brewer did not immediately return a request for comment. Brewer declined to speak with local reporters after he posted $500 bail and was released from jail."

Think this guy doesn't pose a continuing threat to women?

"A stranger found the woman’s first note on a mirror inside a Walmart bathroom in Carnegie, Pa., on July 8, according to a criminal complaint reported by ABC News. The victim detailed how Brewer had allegedly held her prisoner, beaten her and sexually assaulted her. She also gave a description of Brewer’s car and provided the address where she was being held. According to the criminal complaint, no one answered the door when police went to the address, but officers heard shuffling noises inside as if furniture was being moved. Without a warrant, they could not go in. On Friday, officers phoned Brewer and asked to speak to the victim. She talked to police on speaker phone as Brewer listened, telling them that she was with her boyfriend. Brewer told the officers that he and the victim were on vacation, New York, WPXI reported. Police said the victim had been dating Brewer, and she sought a now-expired protection order against him in August 2020. A day later, a second note appeared in a public restroom near the Frank Lloyd Wright Fallingwater museum in Mill Run, Pa., ABC News reported. It said the victim was not really on vacation with her boyfriend in New York and that she was still in danger. The message was found just days after police knocked on the door of the address in the first letter. The new note said the victim had “heard the police knocking at the residence, that the abuse hasn’t stopped, and please don’t give up,” according to the criminal complaint. On Sunday, police obtained a warrant, searched the home and arrested Brewer. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, WTAE reported."

The following?  Appalling.  Get this:

"The woman told police that, over the course of more than two months, Brewer had sexually assaulted her, beaten her, and strangled her multiple times, ABC News reported. He allegedly took the woman’s cellphone away and threatened to harm her children if she fled. She also said Brewer had taken nonconsensual, explicit photos of her, according to the criminal complaint. Brewer was charged with involuntary deviate sexual assault, sexual assault, unlawful restraint, strangulation, simple assault, and making terroristic threats. His preliminary hearing is set for July 22, according to court records."

Why is he out on bail?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

First Amendment Freedom of Speech bastardized by the jackbooted bastards in blue.  NPR reports:

"A Utah hate crime case is drawing national attention after local authorities charged a young woman with a hate crime over allegedly defacing a "Back the Blue" sign in front of a sheriff's deputy. Utah is one of at least five states — along with Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and New Hampshire — that list law enforcement officers, along with race and gender, in their hate crime laws' protected categories, according to the Brennan Center for Justice."

Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state.  A national socialist autocracy.

"Lauren Gibson, 19, is accused of stomping on a "Back the Blue" sign while "smirking in an intimidating manner" at a Garfield County sheriff's deputy. The deputy had pulled over a group of vehicles for speeding, the sheriff's office says."

Jesus Christ.  What a crock of shit.  Clearly, the jackbooted bastards in blue remain incapable of tolerating dissent.  A smirk is now intimidating to a jackbooted bastard in blue?  Give me a break.

Get this:

"The officer wrote in court documents the incident should be treated as a hate crime because it was an 'attempt to intimidate law enforcement,' " as NPR member station KUER reported."

Jesus Christ.  Is this officer anything more than a wall flower?  These bastards are murdering innocent unarmed civilians with near impunity.  No justice.  Yet, he expects the civilian population to march in goose step with him and his fellow jackbooted bastards in blue?  Expects abused civilians to remain silent?  In a democratic republic?  That's not going to happen.

"Garfield County Attorney Barry Huntington told NPR that the case is moving forward, although he wasn't certain as of Thursday morning whether a court date has been set. Gibson has retained an attorney, he said. "We haven't spoken yet," Huntington added after being asked whether the case might be resolved without a trial."

This needs to go to trial.  Challenged all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.  An egregious infringement on the First Amendment by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.

"Sheriff James D. Perkins is defending the charges against Gibson, saying in a written statement, "We are greatly disturbed by the hatred shown to law enforcement officers for no apparent reason."

This man is unfit to be sheriff.  Has egregiously abrogated his oath of office to uphold the U.S. Constitution, rule of law.  He delusionally ignores all the innocent unarmed civilians murdered by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue all across our formerly great country.  All the unwarranted violence perpetrated by officers who seem to get their cookies off engaging in this abuse of authority.

"Alleging that the young woman was "extremely aggressive and violent" toward the deputy, Perkins said, "Ms. Gibson caused a public disturbance and purposely targeted the officer in a very unpeaceful manner."

What violence, Sheriff?  Had she assaulted the bastard she would have been arrested for assault.  Not the bullshit you and this gutless piece of shit are manufacturing.

"The sheriff added that despite stopping the vehicles for going 50 mph in a 30-mph zone and seeing tobacco products in the car, the deputy had issued verbal warnings rather than writing tickets. But Gibson was arrested after the incident with the sign, and she now faces nearly a year in jail if convicted on criminal mischief charges. The hate crime enhancement raises the charges to a more serious level of misdemeanor."

Precisely, why this needs to go to trial.  Needs to be challenged.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms on this and many, many other issues.  Too deaf to hear?  Or, too aggressively stupid and out to lunch.

"In an interview with The Daily Beast, Gibson acknowledged waving the sign at the deputy before stepping on it and tossing it into a trash can. She said her actions were meant to show solidarity with her friend who was driving. Under Utah's state hate crimes law, a person can be convicted of a hate crime if found to have committed an offense "with the intent to intimidate or terrorize another person or with reason to believe that his action would intimidate or terrorize that person."

Jesus Christ.  The criminal jackbooted bastards in blue do this all the time to the civilian population.  Why aren't these bastards so charged?  Instead of protected and coddled.

"At this point, it's an open question whether Gibson could be seen as having intimidated or terrorized the deputy, whom the sheriff described as a veteran member of the department who has seen combat duty in the U.S. military."

No shit.  The charge is bogus bullshit.

Here's the problem.  True threat to the United States Constitution Bill of Rights:

"Critics said the Utah case is proof that including police in hate crime laws opens the door to undermining dissent and the right to free speech. "This kind of charging decision sends an extremely chilling message to the community that the government will seek harsher punishment for people ... who disagree with police actions," the American Civil Liberties Union of Utah said. "We consistently warn that [hate crime] enhancements are oftentimes used to single out unpopular groups or messages rather than provide protections for marginalized communities," the ACLU chapter added. "This case has confirmed those warnings."

Indeed.

"Most hate crime laws that include police also include firefighters and emergency responders. Two states — Utah and Vermont — also include U.S. military service members and veterans in their hate crime protections, according to the Brennan Center. Under U.S. federal law, hate crimes are defined in five different statutes that have broadened the scope of protected categories since the Justice Department began enforcing them in 1968. As the department says, the laws cover crimes "committed on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability."

Including police as a protected class is nothing more than increasing protection and coddling of criminal, abusive, murderous officers.  Galling hard dump on the U.S. Constitution.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

No equal justice.  ABC News reports:

"A former Florida sheriff's deputy received a 12-year prison sentence for planting drugs inside drivers' cars during traffic stops and then arresting them."

Think that's justice?

"Former Jackson County deputy Zachary Wester, 28, did not speak at Tuesday's hearing. He was convicted in May on 19 of 67 counts, including racketeering, official misconduct, fabricating evidence, perjury, false imprisonment and possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Internal affairs investigators found the drugs hidden inside Wester’s patrol car in the summer of 2018, shortly before he was suspended. Prosecutors say it was ready-to-plant evidence that Wester used during his traffic stops. Body camera video also showed Wester holding what appeared to be baggies filled with drugs surreptitiously before searching cars after stopping them. Prosecutors had to drop charges in nearly 120 cases involving Wester that occurred between 2016 and 2018 because of the accusations that he planted evidence. Prosecutor Tom Williams had asked Circuit Judge James Goodman to sentence Wester to 15 years, saying he committed “an egregious breach of the public’s trust."

Nowhere near enough.  No equal justice.

“People voluntarily grant their government awesome powers they deem necessary for public safety and protection,” he said. “With that great power comes great responsibility. The defendant made choices to violate that trust and committed crimes against those people he was sworn to protect.”

Precisely, why there is desperate need for reform.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms.

Consider the enormous damage this piece of shit perpetrated:

"Teresa Odom, one of Wester's victims, told the judge the deputy had ruined her reputation and deprived her of time with her grandchild. Wester had stopped her for a defective brake light in 2018 and asked for permission to search her truck. She agreed. He claimed he found a baggie of methamphetamine in her purse — but body camera video showed him palming a bag before beginning his search. Odom, who vehemently denied the drugs were hers when confronted by Wester, later pleaded no contest and received four years probation. That conviction has been thrown out. “You robbed me of my credibility and being a mother and grandmother over the last two and a half years,” she said. “I wish you no ill will. But you’ll never know what you did to me until you have children of your own.”

The following?  Galling bullshit:

"Wester's wife Rebecca and others begged Judge Goodman for leniency, saying he is a good, churchgoing man who volunteers in his community. More than 50 people sent letters to the judge in support of Wester. “When that career ended, suddenly I watched a part of him and myself as well die,” Rebecca Wester said. “This blow is one that will not be overcome quickly, and honestly one we may never overcome. The Zach that is in the court before you today is a mighty man of God. Has been greatly missed, but the place he has been missed the most is in our home.”

Egregious ignorance of all the damage this piece of shit did to innocent civilians he falsely swore to protect.

No justice.

Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Another egregious failure of law enforcement.  The Associated Press reports:

"After receiving reports of sexual abuse of athletes by former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar in July 2015, senior officials in the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Indianapolis field office failed to respond with the "urgency that the allegations required." That's according to an announcement by the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General (OIG) on Wednesday. The OIG released an investigation and review of the FBI's handling of the case.  The long-awaited watchdog report raises serious questions about how the Justice Department and the FBI handled the case. It highlights serious missteps at the FBI between the time the allegations were first reported until Nassar's arrest. In a press release, the OIG noted that the FBI Indianapolis field office "made fundamental errors," did not notify other field offices or state or local authorities of the investigations, and did not take other steps to "mitigate the ongoing threat" that Nassar posed. Additionally, the FBI Los Angeles field offices received reports of the same allegations eight months after the FBI Indianapolis office, and while the LA office took "numerous investigative steps" it also failed to notify the FBI Lansing Resident Agency or state or local authorities of the allegations. During the period when the allegations were first made to the FBI Indianapolis field office in July 2015 and until September 2016, Nassar was still actively treating athletes at Michigan State University, a high school in Michigan, and a gymnastics club in Michigan. It wasn't until after the Michigan State University Police Department executed a search warrant on Nassar's residence in September 2016 that the FBI Lansing Resident Agency became aware of the allegations."

Readers will recall:

"Nassar was eventually sentenced to 60 years in federal prison in December of 2017, after he plead guilty to possession of child pornography and tampering with evidence. He was sentenced to an additional 40 to 175 years in a Michigan state prison in January 2018 in Ingham County after pleading guilty to seven counts of sexual assault against minors, and an additional 40-125 years on additional three counts of sexual assault in Eaton County. The FBI's handling of the case came under scrutiny from the public and Congress after the case received significant attention in 2017 and 2018, and the OIG found that the FBI Indianapolis field office failed to take responsibility for its inaction and failures. "Instead, they provided incomplete and inaccurate information to make it appear that they had been diligent in responding to the sexual abuse allegations," according to the press release."

Report goes on and on.  Why no criminal prosecution of officials involved?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No equal justice. The Washington Post reports:

"None of the Cuba protesters who closed Miami highway cited under GOP-backed anti-rioting law."

Why not?

"Scores of people crowded a major Miami-area highway Tuesday, chanting in support of rare protests that erupted days earlier in Cuba against the country’s communist government. The rally caused an hours-long closure on part of the Palmetto Expressway in Miami-Dade County. It was the sort of scene envisioned by a divisive Florida law that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) pushed amid last year’s wave of racial justice demonstrations. The legislation calls for protesters to be cited if they block traffic. But no citations were given Tuesday, according to state and local law enforcement. Critics took issue with the lack of citations, saying the law is unclear or unevenly applied. DeSantis, who invoked the possibility of protesters shutting down a highway as he signed the bill into law, has been vocal in his support of rallies against the Cuban government. Asked about the Palmetto Expressway protests during a Tuesday roundtable with reporters, he said the recent demonstrations were “fundamentally different” than last summer’s protests that had inspired the law."

Crock of shit.  No equal justice.

“I think that people understand the difference between going out and peacefully assembling, which is obviously people’s constitutional right, and attacking other people or burning down buildings or dragging people out of a car,” he said. “They are much different situations.”

Think so?  Wake up:

"But Florida Rep. Anna Eskamani, a Democrat who opposed the law, said it was “100 percent applicable” to the protest in the Miami area. She criticized the “hypocrisy” and said the lack of enforcement showed the law was aimed specifically at Black Lives Matter demonstrations. “It’s just such an ideology of convenience that all of a sudden the party of law and order that passed this bill doesn’t think that it’s an issue, doesn’t think that this applies,” she told The Washington Post. “It’s so funny in the sense of the hypocrisy of it all, and also just speaks to how bad policy comes out of the culture wars.”

Report goes on and on.  No equal justice.  None.  By design.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

One state smartens up.  -- At least, a step in the right direction.  A long, long way yet to go, however.  CBS News reports:

"Illinois has become the first state to ban police from lying to minors. Governor J.B. Pritzker signed a bill Thursday "which prohibits the use of deceptive tactics by all law enforcement when interrogating a minor."

When the jackbooted bastards in law enforcement lie, how can they be trusted?  How?  When they're allowed to lie, how do you know when they're telling the truth?

"The bill, sponsored by state Senator Robert Peters and Representative Justin Slaughter, will take effect on January 1, 2022, according to a news release. National law enforcement organizations and training agencies argue that deceptive interrogation techniques increase the likelihood of a minor making a false confession, and have advocated against these practices."

For damned good reason.  Precisely, why it is so equally outrageous such deceptive tactics can be used against adults.  Called nazi justice.  Proof positive law enforcement cares only that it nails someone, anyone.  Truth?  What's that?

"The use of deceptive tactics was deemed permissible by the courts in 1969, but members of the Illinois judicial system have since condemned the use the practices when interrogating minors, because of the risk it poses in producing false confessions, according to the release."

Precisely, why law enforcement cannot be trusted.  Truth?  What's that?  When permitted to lie, again, how do you know when they're telling the truth?  That is, how do you know if they're targeting someone truly guilty, or simply trying to nail someone, anyone guilty or innocent?

Here's the problem, -- and it is a problem all across our formerly great country:

"In 2012, the Justice Department opened an investigation into Chicago's interrogation practices, and de[fe]nse attorneys called the city the "false confession capital of the United States."

Get this:

"At the time, Chicago had twice as many documented false confession cases as any city in the country, "60 Minutes" reported. "60 Minutes" examined two cases involving several teenage boys who were arrested and say they were forced or tricked into confessing to violent crimes they never committed. Each spent nearly half their lives in prison and were later released."

Think the same doesn't happen in the adult population?  Especially, to minorities and the impoverished?  How about the mentally or intellectually disabled?

"Another infamous false confession case in nearby Wisconsin was widely reported on in 2019. Brendan Dassey, one of the convicted killers at the center of the popular Netflix docuseries "Making a Murderer," petitioned the governor of Wisconsin to grant him clemency. When he was 16 years old, Dassey confessed to helping his uncle, Steven Avery, kill photographer Teresa Halbach. More than 10 years later, critics and his lawyers claimed he was coerced by interrogating officers into a false confession as a minor."

Again, think the same doesn't happen to adults when hoodwinked by an abusive jackbooted bastard in blue?

"In coerced false confessions, some people are tricked by police interrogation tactics. Another false confession cases involved five teenage boys, who confessed in the 1989 "Central Park Jogger" attack after hours of police interrogation. The group, initially known as "The Central Park Five," spent years in prison before another man confessed and they were exonerated. Now, they are known as "The Exonerated Five."

Why aren't the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue responsible for this outrageous injustice imprisoned the same length of time as their victims were sentenced to?  Laws need to change to allow this.

"Pritzker signed three other bills that aim to "advance the rights of our most vulnerable in our justice system," he said in a tweet. One of the bills allows the State's Attorney to petition for re-sentencing of a defendant "if the original sentence no longer advances the interests of justice." In a statement on Thursday, Pritzker said an "essential tenet of good governance is recognizing the need to change the laws that have failed the people they serve." He said the four initiatives move Illinois closer to a "holistic criminal justice system" that "builds confidence and trust in a system that has done harm to too many people for far too long."

Nowhere near good enough.  When law enforcement is allowed to lie, it's not justice.  It's bullshit.  Raw jackbooted nazism.

The Washington Post reports:

"Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on Thursday signed the nation’s first law banning law enforcement from lying and deploying other deceptive practices when interrogating minors. The ban, which goes into effect Jan. 1, prohibits tactics like falsely promising leniency and claiming that incriminating evidence exists when it does not. It shows the state’s recognition of the “need to change laws that have failed the people they serve,” he said. Using deceptive tactics during interrogations is generally permitted in the United States."

Antithesis of what is supposed to be a democratic republic not a de facto fascist police-state.  Raw jackbooted nazism.

"But the practice often leads to false confessions, experts say. Minors, who some studies show are two to three times as likely to give a false confession as adults, are particularly vulnerable."

So are minorities and the impoverished.  Not to neglect to mention those who are not well-educated or have no understanding of precisely how abusive law enforcement can be.  To say nothing of those with mental or intellectual disabilities.

"The bill was one of four criminal justice laws that Pritzker signed on Thursday, which he said would “advance the rights of our most vulnerable.” The other bills addressed mass incarceration through efforts that include using “restorative justice practices,” such as mediation, and making it easier for courts to reduce sentences after convictions. Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, whose jurisdiction includes Chicago, supported the new limits on police interrogation. “We continue to work to correct the wrongs of the past — wrongs inflicted by law enforcement, including prosecutors,” she said in a statement. Minors and other vulnerable people, such as those with intellectual disabilities, are particularly harmed by deceptive tactics, said David Sklansky, a Stanford law professor and co-director of the Stanford Criminal Justice Center."

Nazi justice:

"Terrill Swift, who alleges he was coerced by Chicago police into giving a false confession when he was 17, said at a news conference Thursday that the bill “could have saved my life.” Swift, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted of the rape and murder of a woman, spent 15½ years behind bars. He was later exonerated by DNA evidence. Police deployed a “series of lies” against him, Swift said, adding that law enforcement told him to falsely admit that he was hiding someone. The Chicago Police Department did not immediately return a request for comment."

What could the jackbooted bastards say?  How do you defend the indefensible?

"Sklansky said that the United States, unlike many other liberal democracies, has a “long tradition of favoring interrogation tactics that are designed to trick people into confessing.“ “There are countless television shows and movies in which heroic police officers solve cases by cleverly tricking the people they are interrogating into implicating themselves,” Sklansky said, adding that such portrayals “glorified” tactics that will soon be illegal in Illinois."

Sadly, none too soon.

Ignorant 'law and order' nazis in the Republican Party remain hopelessly clueless:

"Although proponents of the practice believe that guilty people will admit to crimes and innocent people will not, decades of evidence suggest that such deceptive tactics lead to false confessions, he said. In 1983, for instance, two half-brothers with intellectual disabilities were wrongfully convicted in the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl. The brothers, who were 19 and 15 at the time, were coerced into giving false confessions. A North Carolina jury in May awarded them $75 million in damages for the decades they spent imprisoned."

Nowhere near good enough.  The prosecutors and officers responsible for this injustice need to wind up imprisoned the same length of time the falsely accused were sentenced to.  Laws need to change to allow this.  Anything less is not justice.  It's nazism.  Unacceptable in what is supposed to be a democratic republic.

"As the first law of its kind in the country, the Illinois law is “very significant,” Sklansky said, adding that he hopes the bill serves as a model for other states. The passage of the bill “is a great step,” said Swift, although he added that “we still have so much work to do.” “One day in prison wrongfully is too long.”

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

No longer.

Treason inspired by the Trump nazi.  NPR reports:

"Two California men who were angry about former President Donald Trump's 2020 election loss have been indicted on charges they plotted to firebomb the Democratic Party's headquarters in Sacramento. The defendants, 45-year-old Ian Rogers and 37-year-old Jarrod Copeland, are both facing one count of conspiracy to destroy a building by fire or explosives. Rogers has also been charged with firearms and explosives offenses, while Copeland is facing an additional obstruction of justice charge. Prosecutors say the two men were upset about the outcome of the 2020 presidential election and wanted to jump-start a "movement" to overthrow the government. They hoped to recruit others to their cause and even reached out to the Proud Boys to try to rally support."

Treason.  Raw nazism.  Antithesis of a democratic republic.

"Prosecutors also say that Copeland and Rogers understood that their actions would be viewed as domestic terrorism. The two men began plotting, court papers say, three weeks after Joe Biden's election win with discussions about attacking targets they viewed as linked to Democrats. In one exchange of messages from late November cited in court papers, Rogers tells Copeland, "We need to hit the enemy in the mouth." He goes on to say: "I think right now we attack democrats. They're [sic] offices etc. Molotov cocktails and gasoline." The two men initially discussed attacking the California governor's mansion but quickly shifted their sights to the Democratic headquarters building in downtown Sacramento. By Dec. 1, court papers say, the men had settled on a plan. Rogers wrote to Copeland: "Do you think something is wrong with me how I'm excited to attack the democrats?" Prosecutors say the plans advanced over the next several weeks. According to court papers, on Jan. 4 Copeland told Rogers that if Congress certified the 2020 election results as scheduled on Jan. 6, the two men would "become outlaws for real."

Traitors.

"Two days later, Congress did indeed certify the vote, but only after a significant delay because the U.S. Capitol had been overrun by a violent mob of Trump supporters. The attack on the Capitol left Copeland elated, prosecutors say. He allegedly sent Rogers a string of texts, including "REVOLUTION" "I'm f***ing juiced!!!!!" and "I'm bout to throw my gear on and drive around and punish sombitces [sic]."

These guys are not only traitors.  They're hopelessly stupid.  Text messages plotting criminal activity are evidence.  A gift to prosecutors.

"On Jan. 11, Rogers messaged Copeland: "I'm thinking sac office first target. Then maybe bird and face offices," which prosecutors say is a reference to the Democratic headquarters in Sacramento, Twitter and Facebook. "Sad it's come to this but I'm not going down without a fight. These commies need to be told what's up," Rogers adds. "I agree," Copeland allegedly replied. "Plan attack." He later added: "Let's see what happens after the 20th we go to war," referring to the date of Biden's inauguration."

While Biden and his fellow Democrats indeed leave much to be desired, they're not communists.  Not only that, Biden did win the election as confirmed all across this country by election officials, many of whom are Republicans.  No substantive voter fraud reported anywhere.  -- Trump's claims to the contrary come from a congenital liar who wouldn't know truth if it figuratively bit him hard on his clueless ass.

"Days later, Napa County Sheriff's deputies arrested Rogers and seized between 45 and 50 guns, including assault rifles and three machine guns. They also confiscated five pipe bombs and around 15,000 rounds of ammunition. An attorney for Rogers declined to comment. It was not immediately clear who was representing Copeland. Court papers say Copeland tried to delete the records of his messages with Rogers after learning of his friend's arrest. Copeland contacted a militia group leader to let him know. The leader told him to switch messaging apps and to delete everything."

These guys are hopelessly stupid.  Out to lunch.

"FBI agents arrested Copeland this week at his home in Sacramento. The government says Copeland poses a danger to the community and is asking that he be detained pending trial. According to prosecutors, Copeland joined the U.S. military in 2013 but was twice arrested for desertion before receiving an "other than honorable" discharge in November 2016."

How about that?

"After he got out, he joined an affiliate of the Three Percenters, an anti-government militia group, according to the government. "Copeland's membership in an anti-government militia, and his motivations for planning these attacks are relevant because they are not fleeting or the product of a single, but past, perceived affront," prosecutors say. "His sentiments are deeply felt and long-standing and reflect a belief that the government is illegitimate."

Driven by Trump's lies, deception, disingenuous bullshit.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

A disgrace, egregious disservice to those in law enforcement who are indeed good officers, uphold the U.S. Constitution, rule of law.  The Washington Post reports:

"A father and son, who are current and former Florida police officers, and a North Carolina man have been charged with joining alleged Proud Boys members in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, according to a new, five co-defendant indictment unsealed in Washington on Friday. Kevin “Tito” Tuck, 51, and Nathaniel A. Tuck, 29, of central Florida were arrested and released on $25,000 unsecured bond Thursday by a U.S. magistrate judge in Tampa, court records show. Edward George Jr. was also arrested Thursday and was scheduled to appear in federal court Friday in Raleigh, according to court records. The charges bring the number of off-duty law enforcement officers charged in the Capitol mob to at least 20, and the defendants’ ties to several central Florida police agencies highlight the continued pressure on sheriffs and police chiefs nationwide to scrub their ranks of members with links to white supremacist and far-right armed groups."

Should have long since occurred.  Years ago.

"Of more than 530 arrests, prosecutors also have now charged at least 37 members or associates of the Proud Boys, a group that has a history of violence. Former president Donald Trump famously urged the right-wing group with a history of street violence to “stand back and stand by” when asked to denounce white supremacist groups at a presidential debate last September."

Think the former president not a traitor?

"U.S. investigators say that at least 65 Proud Boys affiliates joined an on-the-ground communications channel in Washington, led by four men accused of leading others in some of the most destructive, aggressive and earliest attacks to breach police lines and break into the Capitol, forcing Congress to evacuate. An unsealed nine-count indictment dated July 7 charged the Tucks and George with obstructing a joint session of Congress that was meeting to confirm the 2020 election results, trespassing and disorderly conduct. They are not charged with conspiracy, unlike some other Proud Boys. George was also charged with assaulting police, stealing government property, entering the Senate chamber with Kevin Tuck and engaging in civil disorder with Nathan Tuck. An attorney for Kevin Tuck did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Nathaniel Tuck’s attorney could not be reached. Information about an attorney for George, 33, who was arrested in Fayetteville, N.C., was not available. The three men were added to an indictment of previously charged Orlando area men: Arthur Jackman, who is married to an Orange County, Fla., sheriff’s deputy, and Paul Rae, of adjacent Seminole County."

Get this:

"In their arrest affidavits in late March, the FBI showed a photograph of Rae and Jackman standing in a group of five men including accused Proud Boys conspirator and Florida ringleader Joe Biggs, taken on a terrace outside the Capitol overlooking the mob Jan. 6. The faces of the other men were redacted. Prosecutors have alleged that Biggs, of Daytona Beach, Fla., was among the first to enter the Capitol during the riot seconds after fellow Proud Boys member Dominic Pezzola led the smashing of a window on the Senate side of the building with a riot shield taken from police. The Tucks’s and George’s relationship with Jackman and Rae was not immediately clear. However, on Wednesday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office released an internal agency review clearing Jackman’s wife of any wrongdoing. The Longwood Police Department, where Nathaniel Tuck’s wife, Gabriela, is an officer, also issued a statement calling her an employee in good standing against whom it had received no complaint or allegation. The report quoted from a sworn interview Deputy Sarah Jackman gave April 14 as part of the internal review, in which she said her husband joined the Proud Boys after they met but before they got married, and served as vice president of its Orlando chapter. The deputy said he did not involve her in that part of his life. “Deputy Jackman rhetorically stated, ‘Do I leave him [Mr. Jackman] because of this group he joined?’” the report said. Arthur Jackman’s attorney did not immediately comment, and the sheriff’s office said Sarah Jackman cannot comment on the report’s findings."

Indeed, what webs we weave.

"On Thursday, Kevin Tuck resigned from the police department for Windermere, an affluent bedroom community near Orlando, whose residents include several high-profile celebrities and professional athletes. Police Chief David Ogden said in a statement that the elder Tuck joined the force — after working for police in Longwood, Fla. — as a reserve officer in May 2019, and later become a full-time officer in October of the same year. “The Windermere Police Department (WPD) has worked tirelessly over the past eight years to build a reputation of serving with Honor, Integrity and Service to our residents, and this arrest doesn’t reflect on the hard work of the men and women of the Windermere Police Department,” Ogden said."

Hopefully, that's true.

"A fellow Windemere officer raised concerns about Kevin Tuck’s conduct at the Capitol on Jan. 6. Tuck told the department he had not entered the Capitol building, and the FBI said it had no information that he did, Ogden said. The FBI contacted the police chief again July 7 to say it was arresting Tuck, Ogden said. The chief said Tuck did not notify superiors of his out-of-state travel or that he would be attending the event, adding that the department will not comment further on the FBI’s or its internal investigation. Apopka, Fla., police said it employed Nathaniel Tuck as a full-time officer from March 2018 to August 2020 and became aware of and cooperated with the FBI’s investigation. Longwood police said the FBI confirmed that Gabriela Tuck, an elementary school resource officer, was not a suspect in its investigation. The department said Tuck had been recognized several times for her outstanding work, that there is no indication she was involved in the activities that led to Nathan or Kevin Tuck’s arrests, and if any wrong-doing by her were to come to light the department would investigate as it would involving any officer."

Hopefully, that's true.

"In a statement, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said its inquiry to determine if Sarah Jackman violated any of its policies “found no wrongdoing on the part of Deputy Jackman,” and said that “employees of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are prohibited from belonging to any group that exhibits extremist ideology.” The office called the Proud Boys part of the alt-right, which it defined as “an ideological grouping associated with extreme conservative or reactionary viewpoints, characterized by a rejection of mainstream politics and [online dissemination] of deliberately controversial content.”

Sounds like sugar coating raw nazism.

"In her interview, Sarah Jackman described the Proud Boys organization as “pro-American, pro-family, and very patriotic,” in which men “spend time together and attend Bible studies,” according to the sheriff’s office report. The report said she stated it was “not a terrorist organization, not a hate group, nor a right-wing extremists group.”

If she truly believes that, she's hopelessly delusional.  If not, she's lying.

"The deputy, a member of the sheriff’s office training unit and videographer for the agency’s Emergency Response Team, was at work Jan. 6, and knew that her husband was in Washington to hear Trump speak but not that he went to the Capitol, the report said."

Sure she's not lying to protect the son of a bitch?

"The FBI came to their home Jan. 19, but Arthur Jackman told her it was related to Proud Boys activity “and did not elaborate,” the report said."

Fascinating, isn't it?  Sadly, truth remains a moving target in what has become a de facto fascist police-state.

Sad it's come down to this.  The Washington Post reports:

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Johnny Grays was ready to shoot a man for no good reason. That’s one issue behind his workplace racial discrimination and retaliation lawsuit, which comes with a significant legal twist and potentially broad implications. Grays, who is Black, and his partner were at work in March 2020 near the international Blue Water Bridge, connecting Port Huron, Mich., with Sarnia, Ontario, when they were ordered to stop a white SUV with Maryland tags. Grays became suspicious when the Black driver rummaged through the vehicle’s center console and glove box. A 13-year agency veteran, Grays, 43, pulled his pistol and held it at the low-ready position, he recalled, “You know, just in case.” Fortunately, he did not need it or use it. It turned out that the actions Grays found potentially threatening stemmed from the driver’s unfamiliarity with his rental vehicle. The driver and his wife were upset with the police-generated confrontation that rendered their two children hysterical. “Don’t shoot my daddy!” the children said. Grays was furious that he traumatized this African American family for reasons his White supervisors never explained. “We basically scared the living daylights out of them,” he said by phone. “I want to know why. ... I mean, we were given absolutely no reason why we were stopping this vehicle.” “I believe they were profiled because they were a Black family, seen driving this nice SUV with out-of-state plates,” he added. “That’s what I believe.” This is one example cited in the federal lawsuit that Grays and his fellow Black officers, Mikal Williams and Jermaine O. Broderick Sr., filed against the Department of Homeland Security, which includes CBP. Their complaint, previously reported by the Detroit Free Press, includes allegations of racial discrimination and retaliation against employees. But a central charge concerns a hostile environment for Black officers because of racial discrimination against others. If they win, it could have broad ramifications for government workers by empowering them to bring complaints based on discriminatory treatment of non-employees. If the officers lose, it could significantly limit “a federal employee’s ability to be free of discrimination in the workplace,” according to their lawyer Deborah Gordon, in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. The legal question centers on whether it creates a hostile work environment when government employees observe or are made to participate in offensive actions toward the public. “The fact is,” Gordon said, “there’s not a lot of case law on that.” Therein lies the government’s defense. Justice Department lawyers representing the agency don’t directly dispute the officers’ facts. Instead the government attorneys argue the law. “Because most of the alleged discrimination does not constitute an employment practice,” along with the officers’ “sparse allegations” of “direct discrimination against” them, the case should be dismissed, government lawyers argued in their brief."

More on this as the case develops.

Nothing quite like aggressive stupidity, is there?  In follow-up to a case covered recently in this publication and elsewhere, The Washington Post reports:

"The explosion of a Los Angeles Police Department bomb-disposal truck that injured 17 people last month was caused by “human error” after officials underestimated the weight of the fireworks that detonated, authorities said Monday."

Aggressive stupidity.  At least, no one got killed.

Readers will recall:

"The June 30 blast came when the bomb squad was called to remove about 40 “Coca-Cola can-sized” improvised explosive devices that had been among the 32,000 pounds of fireworks stored illegally by a resident, authorities said. Since some of the fireworks were found to have “leaking material,” officials on the scene decided to detonate the dangerous explosives there. LAPD Chief Michel R. Moore said in a news conference that bomb technicians believed they had stored 16.5 pounds of explosives in the Total Containment Vessel, the bomb squad’s disposal truck, but an ATF National Response Team later found that the technicians had placed more than 42 pounds into the vehicle."

Jesus Christ.

“We believe a human error went to the miscalculation of the amount of material going into that vessel,” Moore said Monday. “It’s believed that the net explosive weight placed into the TCV exceeded its rated capacity.”

You think?

"The incident, which the police chief deemed “a total catastrophic failure of that containment vehicle,” resulted in five members of the bomb squad being “removed from the field” until additional training and an investigation into the case are completed, Moore said. The investigation is expected to be completed within the next 30 to 60 days. Moore noted that the bomb disposal truck had been used 41 times before the June 30 explosion and had no documented issues or malfunctions."

... If properly used.  Again, thankfully, no one got killed.  Especially in light of the following:

"None of the injuries to the 10 law enforcement personnel and seven residents from the blast were life-threatening. In addition to the injuries, the blast damaged or destroyed 37 vehicles, 22 residential properties and 13 businesses, police said."

Follow-up on the suspect:

"Arturo Ceja III, 26, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a destructive device and federally charged with transporting explosives without a license, according to the Justice Department. Ceja potentially faces a statutory maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. Ceja was released on $500,000 bail this month and is due back in court in October. It is unclear whether he has an attorney. A federal complaint alleges that Ceja made a few trips in June to a fireworks dealer in Pahrump, Nev., called Area 51 to purchase various types of explosives — including aerial displays and large homemade fireworks containing explosive materials — that he transported to his California residence in rental vans. Fireworks in California can be sold for as much as four times what purchasers in Nevada pay for them, according to the complaint. Ceja “did not possess an ATF explosives license or permit of any kind” that would have allowed him to transport such materials, federal officials wrote. After police received a tip about illegal fireworks at the man’s home in South Los Angeles, according to a Justice Department news release, authorities arrived at his residence on East 27th Street to find he had more than 500 boxes of commercial-grade fireworks in large cardboard boxes in his backyard. All of the fireworks were stored in unsafe places, “namely under unsecured tents and next to cooking grills,” according to the complaint. The amount of explosives found “probably could have taken out that entire neighborhood,” Michael Hoffman, an official with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said Monday."

Get this:

"The tip came as Los Angeles was holding a fireworks buyback program ahead of the Fourth of July holiday that called for residents to turn in their illegal fireworks to “receive a free gift.”

Remarkable irony, no?

Quite a haul:

"Removing the materials required three box trucks and a 53-foot trailer. Officials then found 40 explosive devices, along with 200 similarly made smaller devices, police said. The department called in the bomb squad and a special truck to move the unstable explosives. Moore said that three phases of evacuations took place before the detonation. Additional safety measures — such as the use of X-rays to examine the explosives and setting a safety perimeter around the truck carrying the materials — were also implemented. But that could not prevent a massive explosion that blew windows out of nearby buildings, tossed debris into the air and street, and left dozens of residents displaced. At least 50 people needed hotel rooms following the blast, and Los Angeles City Council member Curren D. Price Jr. (D) has pushed for the city to compensate victims. “We’re talking about folks who are kind of struggling. They’ve got to get up and go to work every day and they don’t have their car or they can’t get access to their clothes or papers,” Price told CBS Los Angeles earlier this month. “It’s a real disruption.”

Called aggressive stupidity, -- defined as doing all you can to be as stupid as possible.  Unbridled idiocy.  The City needs to compensate all victims.

"The police chief vowed Monday to “hold people accountable for those that failed to follow our expectations.” “We can and must do better,” he said."

No kidding.

Follow-up on the January 6, 2021 insurrection.  NBC News reports:

"The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, worried that then-President Donald Trump would try to use the military to attempt a coup after the 2020 election and vowed to prevent it. That’s according to a new book by Washington Post reporters Phil Rucker and Carol Leonnig, “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year,” which will be released next week. The book, excerpts of which were obtained by NBC News, attributes the accounts of private conversations between military and government officials to a myriad of unnamed sources, including aides to those involved. Trump issued a statement on Thursday denying that he had ever considered a coup and criticizing Milley, who he said he appointed only because people he disliked had in turn disliked the general. "So ridiculous! Sorry to inform you, but an Election is my form of 'coup,' and if I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley," Trump said. Col. Dave Butler, spokesperson for Milley, declined to comment on the reporting in the book."

More on this as the story develops.

The Associated Press reports:

"House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy says the GOP won’t participate in a House investigation of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol if Democrats won’t accept the members he appointed. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday rejected two of McCarthy’s five picks to the panel, Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, who was tapped to be the top Republican on the panel, and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan. McCarthy said in a statement that Pelosi’s move was “an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution.”

Haven't nazis in the Republican Party already done the same?

"THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is rejecting two Republicans tapped by House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy to sit on a committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, citing the “integrity” of the probe. Pelosi said in a statement Wednesday that she would not accept the appointments of Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, whom McCarthy picked to be the top Republican on the panel, or Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan. Both are close allies of former President Donald Trump, whose supporters laid siege to the Capitol that day. In the hours after the insurrection, both Banks and Jordan voted to overturn Joe Biden’s presidential victory. Pelosi said she had spoken with McCarthy and told him that she would reject the two names. “With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Pelosi said. Pelosi has the authority to approve or reject members, per committee rules, though she acknowledged her move was “unprecedented.” She said in the statement that she had accepted McCarthy’s three other picks — Illinois Rep. Rodney Davis, North Dakota Rep. Kelly Armstrong and Texas Rep. Troy Nehls. Like Jordan and Banks, Nehls voted to overturn Biden’s victory. Armstrong and Davis voted to certify the election. Banks recently traveled with Trump to the U.S.-Mexico border and to visit him at his New Jersey golf course. Jordan was one of Trump’s most vocal defenders in his two impeachments."

Fascinating, isn't it?  All the above is truly beside the point.  No more than 'symbolism over substance' to quote a late achingly fascist talk show host.  Far more salient to this issue is an unanswered question.  That is, why hasn't the Trump nazi been indicted and prosecuted for inciting insurrection January 6, 2021?

NBC News reports:

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., rejected two of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's picks for the select committee charged with investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, prompting the Republican leader to threaten to pull all of his proposed appointees. Pelosi spoke with McCarthy, R-Calif., on Wednesday morning "about the objections raised" to his decision to appoint Republican Reps. Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio and "the impact their appointments may have on the integrity of the investigation," the speaker said in a statement."

Readers are reminded:

"Banks and Jordan supported objections to the election results during the formalization of President Joe Biden's victory on Jan. 6, which was temporarily disrupted by the violent mob of former President Donald Trump's supporters. Pelosi said she "is prepared to appoint" McCarthy's other picks, including, Republican Reps. Rodney Davis of Illinois, Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota and Troy Nehls of Texas, and requested that he recommend two other members. Nehls also voted to object to the election results. In response to the speaker's decision, McCarthy threatened to retract all of his picks. “Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts," he said in a statement Wednesday."

Jesus Christ.  Wake up, Mr. McCarthy.  Republicans wouldn't know 'facts' if they figuratively bit you fascist bastards hard on the ass.  Despite no substantive voter fraud anywhere in the United States as confirmed even by Republican state election officials, the GOP still won't acknowledge the fact Biden won the election fair and square.  -- Not that Biden is worth a crap.

"Pelosi announced her appointments to the select committee this month, including several Democrats and Republican Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who was ousted as chairwoman of the House Republican Conference after she spoke out against Trump and fellow Republicans over their false election-fraud claims. Trump lawyers in the hot seat.  NPR reports:

"Six months after the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol, attorneys who promoted former President Donald Trump's false claims about election fraud are being forced to defend their actions in court. But some experts say the abuses over the past four years compel the legal profession to perform some deeper soul-searching."

You think?  No question.

"I just think it's important, if we are to reset, that our profession is prepared to confront itself and make decisions about who we want to be, who we are and what it's going to require, which may be uncomfortable, to ensure that we hold our character," said Sherrilyn Ifill, president of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, at an event sponsored by New York University School of Law. Ifill, who used to teach aspiring attorneys about their roles and responsibilities as "officers of the court," has been calling for an independent commission to produce a full accounting of how lawyers lost their way. So far, there's little public sign of interest in that kind of self-examination. Instead, judges and attorney discipline panels are performing their own investigations, case by case, in a methodical fashion."

Need to do far more.

"This week in Michigan, U.S. District Judge Linda Parker grilled lawyers close to Trump about the actions they took before filing a lawsuit that claimed irregularities in the 2020 election. "What authority did this court have to decertify election results?" Parker asked. The city of Detroit wants those attorneys to face sanctions. At the hearing, Detroit lawyer David Fink called their lawsuit sloppy, careless and "an embarrassment to the legal profession."

That all?  Not good enough.  Nowhere near.

"Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, has been monitoring the election fallout with interest. "You make a misstatement in court — first of all, don't do that," Bharara said. "And if you do, correct it immediately. There's nothing worse."

Called professionalism.

Get this:

"But at the hearing in Michigan, some of the attorneys who are under scrutiny adopted a different approach. One of them, attorney Lin Wood, said he didn't read the complaint before it was filed. Another lawyer with ties to Trump, Sidney Powell, said she took "full responsibility" for the paperwork. Powell told the judge she'd practiced law with the highest standards. Meanwhile, authorities in New York recently suspended the law license of Rudy Giuliani, Trump's former personal lawyer. They said Giuliani had "communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public" while trying to overturn the results of the election. Giuliani wants a hearing, where his lawyers John Leventhal and Barry Kamins said they think he'll be reinstated "as a valued member of the legal profession that he has served so well in his many capacities for so many years." George Conway, a lawyer who regularly criticizes Trump and the attorneys who worked for him, said the rules are pretty straightforward. "When you assert something, you have to be able to back it up," Conway said. "You can't make things up."

Trump does so all the time.  His lawyers follow the example of their fuhrer, the Trump nazi.

"Conway famously turned down a top job in the Trump Justice Department, calling it "probably the best decision I ever made."

No kidding.

"But Conway said many of those lawyers who did serve in the Trump years deserve thanks for refusing to advance phony theories about election fraud this year. "The upper echelons of the Justice Department in the waning weeks of the administration basically refused to do what Trump wanted them to do and they entered into essentially a bureaucratic suicide pact" where they agreed to quit in protest if Trump tried to fire the head of the Justice Department over the election cases, said Conway."

Indeed, Uncommon Valor.

"Trump backed down."

Indeed, he did.  Had no choice.  Had he not done so, the consequences would have been dire.

"There are lawyers who think the legal profession needs to do a lot more to counter widespread violations of norms and rules — misleading courts, lawmakers and the public. For her part, Ifill said elite institutions, including the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association, mostly didn't rise up when that happened over the past few years. "What happens when lawyers, particularly in position of responsibility like government lawyers or I would even say law firm partners, take on positions ... or run so close to the edge of the rules that they potentially reset the rules in ways that undermine the core of what the profession is supposed to be about?" she asked."

Indeed, poor follow-through by Biden.  All talk.  No action.  NPR reports:

"When President Biden gave a much-anticipated voting rights speech in Philadelphia this week, he called the fight against restrictive voting laws "the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War" and decried what he called a "21st century Jim Crow assault" on voting rights. But a lot of people who turned out voters to elect Biden think he's failing them in the battle for voting rights so far."

No question.  Biden and his fellow Democrats are all talk.  Have failed to effectively challenge the growing nazism within the Republican Party.

"LaTosha Brown, a co-founder of Black Voters Matter, said that Biden raised a number of meaningful points during the speech, but added that "the challenge for me is what he didn't say." "If we're talking about a sense of urgency, like he laid out in his speech around democracy, this country has actually gone to war in the name of democracy," Brown said in an interview before meeting with Vice President Harris about voting at the White House on Friday, along with other Black women leaders. "The question is, how are we going to respond to what the Republicans are doing right now? And will the full weight of the White House be used to make sure that we get we secure permanent voting rights for our citizens?"

To date, it hasn't.

"Many voting rights advocates say they believe Biden has devoted much more of his time and political capital to other priorities, pointing to the bipartisan infrastructure bill as a timely example. Biden huddled behind closed doors with lawmakers over that issue earlier in the week, pushing them to support the plan. "He's still using his bully pulpit, he's still traveling to states, he's still giving speeches, he's still going to Congress and he's using the full power of his office to wrangle those votes," said Ezra Levin, the co-founder of the progressive group Indivisible. "If it works for roads and bridges, why shouldn't it work for democracy?"

Sadly, partisanship, not principle, rules supreme.  Both major political parties guilty of this.

"Biden tried to re-energize the push for the pair of federal voting rights bills that have stalled in Congress, calling passage of the For The People Act a "national imperative." "As soon as Congress passes the For The People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, I will sign it and let the whole world see it," Biden said Tuesday. "That will be an important moment."

All talk.  No action.  No follow-through.

"For Democrats, civil rights activists and progressives looking for the president to lead amid a nationwide wave of Republican-led bills intended to restrict voting access, the speech was a long time coming. But for some, it also fell woefully short of expectations. "It felt like the president fully understands the threats to our democracy, but seems to be leaving the fight to everybody else," Levin said."

Other than talk, he's done nothing.

"Many voting rights activists say that Biden's speech included what they consider a big omission: The president did not detail a legislative plan to move the bills forward. He also did not indicate any new strategies he might pursue to combat Republican voting laws on his own, or to ensure that the federal bills become law."

Failure in leadership.  Egregious.

"White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday that voting rights would be "a cause of his presidency" and that the president would "use his time, use his platform to make sure he's speaking about, elevating it, engaging in it."

Will take far, far more than empty talk.

"Psaki did not provide details of the president's future plans."

Is that because he has none?

"During Tuesday's speech, Biden talked about the work of the Justice Department to challenge voting laws passed in the states this year, as well as the expansion of the agency's voting rights division. Republicans argue that these voting laws are needed to cut down on voter fraud, despite no evidence that it is a widespread phenomenon. The wave of state-level legislative action, coupled with court rulings that would make it harder to fight intrusions on voting rights, has led for more calls for federal government action. There has been increasing pressure on Biden to endorse rolling back the filibuster to pass the For The People Act, as well as the legislation named for the late congressman and civil rights icon John Lewis that would restore protections from the 1965 Voting Rights Act that were dismantled by a Supreme Court decision in 2013. "I didn't think filibuster was the 'F' word that we would be talking about this week," said Nse Ufot, the CEO of the New Georgia Project. "It was shocking that it wasn't even mentioned at all [in Biden's speech] given how masterfully the Republicans have used it to block civil rights legislation in the past." Stephany Spaulding, a spokesperson for the Just Democracy coalition, warned that if Biden is unwilling to address the filibuster, it will lead to Black and brown voters being disenfranchised. "Democracy itself is on the line," said Spaulding. "We are really on a path to authoritarianism, and that will be the legacy of Biden's presidency."

Exactly, right.  Biden and the Democrats need to smarten up.  Get up off their ass.

"In an interview with NPR's Asma Khalid this week ahead of Biden's speech, Harris suggested that she has talked to senators about exceptions to the legislative filibuster but said she would not publicly negotiate an issue that the White House has insisted is up to the Senate."

That ensures nothing changes.  No more than maintenance of an unsustainable un-American nazi status quo.

"I believe that of all of the issues that the United States Congress can take up, the right to vote is the right that unlocks all the other rights," Harris said. "And for that reason, it should be one of its highest priorities."

Biden, apparently, doesn't think so.  Or, worse, places partisanship over principle.

"Biden seemed to acknowledge the congressional landscape, describing legislation as "one tool, but not the only tool." On Tuesday, he talked about the leading role Harris is playing in the administration's efforts, and seemed to shift his focus to next year's midterm elections and the need to build coalitions. He focused on efforts to educate voters about the changing laws, register them to vote and mobilize them to turn out. "We have to forge a coalition of Americans of every background and political party — the advocates, the students, the faith leaders, the labor leaders, the business executives — and raise the urgency of this moment," Biden said."

Empty, hollow, meaningless talk.  No action.

"Several activists chafed at the suggestion that no coalition existed to fight for voting rights. "The idea that we need to put together some kind of new coalition and go back to the drawing board — I don't know what he's talking about," said Levin of Indivisible. "If he wants a coalition, by all means, Mr. President, lead it. Let's see a fight for this."

No kidding.

"Ufot said that while she was "grateful" that the president acknowledged the importance of grassroots activism, "community organizers can't whip votes in the Senate." "But the president of the United States can," she added. "... I didn't exactly tune into the speech to hear about the work that we are already doing. I tuned in to hear what Biden-Harris was going to do, and I didn't hear that." Several Black activists warned of the perils of Democrats taking the support of Black people for granted — a perennial issue that came to a head during the 2020 campaign. They suggested that the assault on the right to vote was a threat to their citizenship."

It's an exigent threat to a democratic republic.  Fascists in the Republican Party are successfully attempting to impose a nazi autocracy.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"It is the place that Black and brown Americans come to time and time again. We have full hope and faith in a functioning democracy. But when it comes to the reality of that playing out, the burden rests upon us as Black and brown voters, as Black and brown activists, to actually move the ball across the line," said Spaulding of Just Democracy. "... It's not us who need to work harder and strategize differently. It's Democrats and President Biden who need to use the power that we gave them."

Goddamned right. Without question.

"Brown of Black Voters Matter put it more succinctly as she reflected on the role of Black voters in the last election: "We knew what was at stake and we delivered. Our expectation is that the White House will deliver for us, just as we delivered the White House."

The Israeli aggressor has again shown its true colors.  The Washington Post reports:

"Military-grade spyware licensed by an Israeli firm to governments for tracking terrorists and criminals was used in attempted and successful hacks of 37 smartphones belonging to journalists, human rights activists, business executives and two women close to murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to an investigation by The Washington Post and 16 media partners. The phones appeared on a list of more than 50,000 numbers that are concentrated in countries known to engage in surveillance of their citizens and also known to have been clients of the Israeli firm, NSO Group, a worldwide leader in the growing and largely unregulated private spyware industry, the investigation found. The list does not identify who put the numbers on it, or why, and it is unknown how many of the phones were targeted or surveilled. But forensic analysis of the 37 smartphones shows that many display a tight correlation between time stamps associated with a number on the list and the initiation of surveillance, in some cases as brief as a few seconds. Forbidden Stories, a Paris-based journalism nonprofit, and Amnesty International, a human rights group, had access to the list and shared it with the news organizations, which did further research and analysis. Amnesty’s Security Lab did the forensic analyses on the smartphones. The numbers on the list are unattributed, but reporters were able to identify more than 1,000 people spanning more than 50 countries through research and interviews on four continents: several Arab royal family members, at least 65 business executives, 85 human rights activists, 189 journalists, and more than 600 politicians and government officials — including cabinet ministers, diplomats, and military and security officers. The numbers of several heads of state and prime ministers also appeared on the list."

Get this:

"The targeting of the 37 smartphones would appear to conflict with the stated purpose of NSO’s licensing of the Pegasus spyware, which the company says is intended only for use in surveilling terrorists and major criminals. The evidence extracted from these smartphones, revealed here for the first time, calls into question pledges by the Israeli company to police its clients for human rights abuses. The media consortium, titled the Pegasus Project, analyzed the list through interviews and forensic analysis of the phones, and by comparing details with previously reported information about NSO. Amnesty’s Security Lab examined 67 smartphones where attacks were suspected. Of those, 23 were successfully infected and 14 showed signs of attempted penetration. For the remaining 30, the tests were inconclusive, in several cases because the phones had been replaced. Fifteen of the phones were Android devices, none of which showed evidence of successful infection. However, unlike iPhones, Androids do not log the kinds of information required for Amnesty’s detective work. Three Android phones showed signs of targeting, such as Pegasus-linked SMS messages. Amnesty shared backup copies of data on four iPhones with Citizen Lab, which confirmed that they showed signs of Pegasus infection. Citizen Lab, a research group at the University of Toronto that specializes in studying Pegasus, also conducted a peer review of Amnesty’s forensic methods and found them to be sound."

Not surprisingly:

"In lengthy responses before publication, NSO called the investigation’s findings exaggerated and baseless. It also said it does not operate the spyware licensed to its clients and “has no insight” into their specific intelligence activities. After publication, NSO chief executive Shalev Hulio expressed concern in a phone interview with The Post about some of the details he had read in Pegasus Project stories Sunday, while continuing to dispute that the list of more than 50,000 phone numbers had anything to do with NSO or Pegasus. “The company cares about journalists and activists and civil society in general,” Hulio said. “We understand that in some circumstances our customers might misuse the system and, in some cases like we reported in [NSO’s] Transparency and Responsibility Report, we have shut down systems for customers who have misused the system.” He said that in the past 12 months NSO had terminated two contracts over allegations of human rights abuses, but he declined to name the countries involved."

No transparency.

“Every allegation about misuse of the system is concerning me,” he said. “It violates the trust that we give customers. We are investigating every allegation.”

Think so?

"NSO describes its customers as 60 intelligence, military and law enforcement agencies in 40 countries, although it will not confirm the identities of any of them, citing client confidentiality obligations. The consortium found many of the phone numbers in at least 10 country clusters, which were subjected to deeper analysis: Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Citizen Lab also has found evidence that all 10 have been clients of NSO, according to Bill Marczak, a senior research fellow."

Lack of transparency speaks volumes.

"Forbidden Stories organized the media consortium’s investigation, and Amnesty provided analysis and technical support but had no editorial input. Amnesty has openly criticized NSO’s spyware business and supported an unsuccessful lawsuit against the company in an Israeli court seeking to have its export license revoked. After the investigation began, several reporters in the consortium learned that they or their family members had been successfully attacked with Pegasus spyware."

Interesting, no?  Troubling as well.

Here's the problem:

"Beyond the personal intrusions made possible by smartphone surveillance, the widespread use of spyware has emerged as a leading threat to democracies worldwide, critics say. Journalists under surveillance cannot safely gather sensitive news without endangering themselves and their sources. Opposition politicians cannot plot their campaign strategies without those in power anticipating their moves. Human rights workers cannot work with vulnerable people — some of whom are victims of their own governments — without exposing them to renewed abuse. For example, Amnesty’s forensics found evidence that Pegasus was targeted at the two women closest to Saudi columnist Khashoggi, who wrote for The Post’s Opinions section. The phone of his fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, was successfully infected during the days after his murder in Turkey on Oct. 2, 2018, according to a forensic analysis by Amnesty’s Security Lab. Also on the list were the numbers of two Turkish officials involved in investigating his dismemberment by a Saudi hit team. Khashoggi also had a wife, Hanan Elatr, whose phone was targeted by someone using Pegasus in the months before his killing. Amnesty was unable to determine whether the hack was successful. “This is nasty software — like eloquently nasty,” said Timothy Summers, a former cybersecurity engineer at a U.S. intelligence agency and now director of IT at Arizona State University. With it “one could spy on almost the entire world population. … There’s not anything wrong with building technologies that allows you to collect data; it’s necessary sometimes. But humanity is not in a place where we can have that much power just accessible to anybody.”

That's right.  Worse?  To say the least, the following has serious credibility issues:

"In response to detailed questions from the consortium before publication, NSO said in a statement that it did not operate the spyware it licensed to clients and did not have regular access to the data they gather. The company also said its technologies have helped prevent attacks and bombings and broken up rings that trafficked in drugs, sex and children. “Simply put, NSO Group is on a life-saving mission, and the company will faithfully execute this mission undeterred, despite any and all continued attempts to discredit it on false grounds,” NSO said. “Your sources have supplied you with information that has no factual basis, as evidenced by the lack of supporting documentation for many of the claims.” The company denied that its technology was used against Khashoggi, or his relatives or associates. “As NSO has previously stated, our technology was not associated in any way with the heinous murder of Jamal Khashoggi. This includes listening, monitoring, tracking, or collecting information. We previously investigated this claim, immediately after the heinous murder, which again, is being made without validation.” Thomas Clare, a libel attorney hired by NSO, said that the consortium had “apparently misinterpreted and mischaracterized crucial source data on which it relied” and that its reporting contained flawed assumptions and factual errors. “NSO Group has good reason to believe that this list of ‘thousands of phone numbers’ is not a list of numbers targeted by governments using Pegasus, but instead, may be part of a larger list of numbers that might have been used by NSO Group customers for other purposes,” Clare wrote. In response to follow-up questions, NSO called the 50,000 number “exaggerated” and said it was far too large to represent numbers targeted by its clients. Based on the questions it was being asked, NSO said, it had reason to believe that the consortium was basing its findings “on misleading interpretation of leaked data from accessible and overt basic information, such as HLR Lookup services, which have no bearing on the list of the customers targets of Pegasus or any other NSO products … we still do not see any correlation of these lists to anything related to use of NSO Group technologies.” The term HLR, or Home Location Register, refers to a database that is essential to operating cellular phone networks. Such registers keep records on the networks of cellphone users and their general locations, along with other identifying information that is used routinely in routing calls and texts. HLR lookup services operate on the SS7 system that cellular carriers use to communicate with each other. The services can be used as a step toward spying on targets."

Get this:

"Telecommunications security expert Karsten Nohl, chief scientist for Security Research Labs in Berlin, said that he does not have direct knowledge of NSO’s systems but that HLR lookups and other SS7 queries are widely and inexpensively used by the surveillance industry — often for just tens of thousands of dollars a year. “It’s not difficult to get that access. Given the resources of NSO, it’d be crazy to assume that they don’t have SS7 access from at least a dozen countries,” Nohl said. “From a dozen countries, you can spy on the rest of the world.” Pegasus was engineered a decade ago by Israeli ex-cyberspies with government-honed skills. The Israeli Defense Ministry must approve any license to a government that wants to buy it, according to previous NSO statements. “As a matter of policy, the State of Israel approves the export of cyber products exclusively to governmental entities, for lawful use, and only for the purpose of preventing and investigating crime and counterterrorism, under end-use/end user certificates provided by the acquiring government,” a spokesperson for the Israeli defense establishment said Sunday. “In cases where exported items are used in violation of export licenses or end-use certificates, appropriate measures are taken.”

Think so?

"The numbers of about a dozen Americans working overseas were discovered on the list, in all but one case while using phones registered to foreign cellular networks. The consortium could not perform forensic analysis on most of these phones. NSO has said for years that its product cannot be used to surveil American phones. The consortium did not find evidence of successful spyware penetration on phones with the U.S. country code. “We also stand by our previous statements that our products, sold to vetted foreign governments, cannot be used to conduct cybersurveillance within the United States, and no customer has ever been granted technology that would enable them to access phones with U.S. numbers,” the company said in its statement. “It is technologically impossible and reaffirms the fact your sources’ claims have no merit.”

This is extremely complicated technology.  Going to take a massive investigation by experts to determine who is lying and who's not.

"How Pegasus works

"Target: Someone sends what’s known as a trap link to a smartphone that persuades the victim to tap and activate — or activates itself without any input, as in the most sophisticated “zero-click” hacks.

"Infect: The spyware captures and copies the phone’s most basic functions, NSO marketing materials show, recording from the cameras and microphone and collecting location data, call logs and contacts.

"Track: The implant secretly reports that information to an operative who can use it to map out sensitive details of the victim’s life."

Smartphone manufacturers are going to have to do far more to protect users:

"Apple and other smartphone manufacturers are years into a cat-and-mouse game with NSO and other spyware makers. “Apple unequivocally condemns cyberattacks against journalists, human rights activists and others seeking to make the world a better place,” said Ivan Krsti, head of Apple Security Engineering and Architecture. “For over a decade, Apple has led the industry in security innovation and, as a result, security researchers agree iPhone is the safest, most secure consumer mobile device on the market. Attacks like the ones described are highly sophisticated, cost millions of dollars to develop, often have a short shelf life and are used to target specific individuals. While that means they are not a threat to the overwhelming majority of our users, we continue to work tirelessly to defend all our customers, and we are constantly adding new protections for their devices and data.” Some Pegasus intrusion techniques detailed in a 2016 report were changed in a matter of hours after they were made public, underscoring NSO’s ability to adapt to countermeasures. Pegasus is engineered to evade defenses on iPhones and Android devices and to leave few traces of its attack. Familiar privacy measures like strong passwords and encryption offer little help against Pegasus, which can attack phones without any warning to users. It can read anything on a device that a user can, while also stealing photos, recordings, location records, communications, passwords, call logs and social media posts. Spyware also can activate cameras and microphones for real-time surveillance. “There is just nothing from an encryption standpoint to protect against this,” said Claudio Guarnieri, a.k.a. “Nex,” the Amnesty Security Lab’s 33-year-old Italian researcher who developed and performed the digital forensics on 37 smartphones that showed evidence of Pegasus attacks. That sense of helplessness makes Guarnieri, who often dresses head-to-toe in black, feel as useless as a 14th-century doctor confronting the Black Plague without any useful medication. “Primarily I’m here just to keep the death count,” he said. The attack can begin in different ways. It can come from a malicious link in an SMS text message or an iMessage. In some cases, a user must click on the link to start the infection. In recent years, spyware companies have developed what they call “zero-click” attacks, which deliver spyware simply by sending a message to a user’s phone that produces no notification. Users do not even need to touch their phones for infections to begin. Many countries have laws pertaining to traditional wiretapping and interception of communications, but few have effective safeguards against deeper intrusions made possible by hacking into smartphones. “This is more devious in a sense because it really is no longer about intercepting communications and overhearing conversation. … This covers all of them and goes way beyond that,” Guarnieri said. “It has raised a lot of questions from not only human rights, but even national constitutional laws as to is this even legal?”

There is no security.  No device is truly secure.  Anything can be hacked.

NPR reports:

"An investigation by a global media consortium based on leaked targeting data provides further evidence that military-grade malware from Israel-based NSO Group, the world's most infamous hacker-for-hire outfit, is being used to spy on journalists, human rights activists and political dissidents."

How about that?

"From a list of more than 50,000 cellphone numbers obtained by the Paris-based journalism nonprofit Forbidden Stories and the human rights group Amnesty International and shared with 16 news organizations, journalists were able to identify more than 1,000 individuals in 50 countries who were allegedly selected by NSO clients for potential surveillance. They include 189 journalists, more than 600 politicians and government officials, at least 65 business executives, 85 human rights activists and several heads of state, according to The Washington Post, a consortium member. The journalists work for organizations including The Associated Press, Reuters, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Le Monde and The Financial Times. Amnesty also reported that its forensic researchers had determined that NSO Group's flagship Pegasus spyware was successfully installed on the phone of Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi's fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, just four days after he was killed in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul in 2018. The company had previously been implicated in other spying on Khashoggi. NSO Group denied in an emailed response to AP questions that it has ever maintained "a list of potential, past or existing targets." In a separate statement, it called the Forbidden Stories report "full of wrong assumptions and uncorroborated theories." The company reiterated its claims that it only sells to "vetted government agencies" for use against terrorists and major criminals and that it has no visibility into its customers' data. Critics call those claims dishonest — and have provided evidence that NSO directly manages the high-tech spying. They say the repeated abuse of Pegasus spyware highlights the nearly complete lack of regulation of the private global surveillance industry."

The following is further indication the Israeli aggressor has lost itself.  The Associated Press reports:

"Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told the head of Unilever on Tuesday that Israel will “act aggressively” against Ben & Jerry’s over the subsidiary’s decision to stop selling its ice cream in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and contested east Jerusalem."

For damned good reason.  Finally, the corporate management suite of a major corporation does the right thing.  Stands up to the Israeli aggressor.

"British consumer goods conglomerate Unilever acquired the Vermont-based ice cream company in 2000. Ben & Jerry’s said in a statement on Monday that it had informed its longstanding licensee — responsible for manufacturing and distributing the ice cream in Israel — that it will not renew the license agreement when it expires at the end of 2022. Bennett’s office said in a statement that he spoke with Unilever CEO Alan Jope about what he called Ben & Jerry’s “clearly anti-Israel step,” adding that the move would have “serious consequences, legal and otherwise, and that it will act aggressively against all boycott actions directed against its citizens.”

The Israeli Prime Minister ignores the fact Israel continues to commit war crimes in occupied territory that does not belong to it, has not belonged to it for centuries.  Lost due to its excesses all those centuries ago.

"The announcement was one of the highest-profile company rebukes of Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, territories Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war. Most of the international community considers these settlements illegal under international law and an impediment to peace with the Palestinians."

That's right.  No question.  Sadly, the Israeli aggressor behaves more and more like its German Nazi oppressors during the Second World War.

"Approximately 700,000 Israelis now live in settlements, around 500,000 in the occupied West Bank and 200,000 in east Jerusalem. Israel considers the entirety of Jerusalem its capital, while the Palestinians seek it as capital of a future state."

Until the Israeli aggressor smartens up, that is, finds a way to coexist with the Palestinians without egregiously oppressing them, there will be endless war in the region.

Uncommon Valor:

"Ben & Jerry’s said in its announcement that the sale of its ice cream in territories sought by the Palestinians for an independent state was “inconsistent with our values.”

Reaction of the Israeli aggressor?  Raw insanity.  Distortion of reality.  Egregious hypocrisy:

"Israel’s Foreign Ministry criticized the decision on Monday as “a surrender to ongoing and aggressive pressure from extreme anti-Israel groups” and said the company was cooperating with “economic terrorism.”

What a crock of shit.  On the contrary, it is about time a major corporation took a stand against the atrocities committed by the Israeli aggressor against the Palestinians.  Sadly, it is the Israeli aggressor which imposes terrorism through its oppression of the occupied territories.  No more than de facto outright theft of land it has no legitimate claim to.  Has not had for centuries.  Lost through its excesses.

"Avi Zinger, CEO of Ben & Jerry’s Israel licensee, told public broadcaster Kan on Tuesday that the parent company had long pressured him to cease distribution in the Israeli occupied territories, but he refused because it would violate Israeli law. He called Ben & Jerry’s decision to not extend its license “the biggest accomplishment” of the BDS movement that advocates boycotts, divestment and sanctions of Israeli institutions and businesses in what it says is a nonviolent campaign against Israeli abuses against Palestinians."

That's right.  No question.  To the Israeli aggressor, however, day is night, night is day, and shit smells perversely sweet.  All ass backwards from reality.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

A step in the right direction, but nowhere near good enough.  The Associated Press reports:

"Attorney General Merrick Garland on Monday formally prohibited federal prosecutors from seizing the records of journalists in leak investigations, with limited exceptions, reversing years of department policy. The new policy largely codifies the commitment Garland made in June, when he said the Justice Department would abandon the practice of seizing reporters’ records in leak investigations. It aims to resolve a politically thorny issue that has long vexed Justice Department prosecutors trying to weigh the media’s First Amendment rights against government’s desire to protect classified information. But the memo makes clear that federal prosecutors can, in some cases, seize journalists’ records, including if the reporters are suspected of working for agents of a foreign power or terrorist organizations. There is also an exception for situations with imminent risks, like kidnappings or crimes against children."

Think exceptions won't be abused by corrupt and abusive prosecutors?

"Garland was moved to act following an outcry over revelations that the department during the Trump administration had obtained records belonging to journalists at The Washington Post, CNN and The New York Times as part of investigations into who had disclosed government secrets related to the Russia investigation and other national security matters. Others whose records were obtained were members of Congress and their staffers and former White House counsel Don McGahn. Garland’s announcement came after President Joe Biden said he would not allow the Justice Department to seize journalists’ phone records and emails, calling the practice “wrong.” Since then, Garland and other senior Justice Department staffers have met with representatives of news media organizations, with both sides agreeing on the need for new department policies. Garland has also said he would support federal legislation to add additional protections for journalists."

To say the least.  Yet, it is hard to believe additional legislation won't be abused by corrupt and abusive prosecutors.

"The move was immediately praised by media advocates. “The attorney general has taken a necessary and momentous step to protect press freedom at a critical time,” said Bruce Brown, the executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. “This historic new policy will ensure that journalists can do their job of informing the public without fear of federal government intrusion into their relationships with confidential sources.”

The only way to ensure that does not happen is to create no record electronic or otherwise vis a vis interaction with confidential sources.  This government cannot be trusted.  Here's precisely why:

"Leak investigations have long challenged department officials, resulting in policy changes in the last decade as well as pushback from media groups against government encroachment into their work. President Barack Obama’s attorney general, Eric Holder, announced revised guidelines for leak investigations after an uproar over actions seen as aggressively intrusive into press freedom, including the secret seizure of phone records of Associated Press reporters and editors. Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump’s first attorney general, announced in 2017 a leak crackdown following a series of disclosures during the investigation into Russian election interference."

Sadly, in a de facto fascist police-state, government cannot be trusted.  Here's another reason why:

The Washington Post reports:

"The Justice Department is pushing for rule changes that would put a 50-year delay on when courts can consider releasing material from federal grand juries, according to documents and interviews, and would separately allow gag orders to be applied more broadly to witnesses."

No transparency.  None.  By design.

"While the recommendations were made during the Trump administration, President Biden’s Justice Department is still seeking the changes, even as critics oppose what they say would be a significant expansion of secrecy around federal courts and investigations."

What ever truly changes?  Nothing more than raw nazism.

"Grand jury secrecy is a cornerstone of American criminal justice. Much of what is said in grand juries — where citizens, guided by a prosecutor, consider whether to indict someone for alleged crimes — is never made public."

Outrageous bullshit.  No more than antithesis of a democratic republic.  No more than raw nazism.  Forget?  An out of control prosecutor has the power via a grand jury to indict a rock.  No more than a Pied Piper.  This lack of transparency enables corruption within the system of justice, precludes accountability.  By design.

"But judges occasionally rule that some other interest merits the release of grand jury information. That happened in the Watergate case that led to Richard Nixon’s resignation as president, and it happened in special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation into then-President Donald Trump, when a district court and an appeals court found that some grand jury material should be shared with Congress as it prepared for impeachment."

Without transparency there is little to no justice, no accountability at the top of the food chain.  Again, by design:

"The Justice Department fought all the way to the Supreme Court to keep the Mueller grand jury material under wraps. The issue was declared moot after Congress completed impeachment proceedings; but if the proposed rules are enacted, they could push back any revelations about the Mueller grand jury until 2069. If such a rule had been in place during Watergate, the grand jury material that was released to Congress in the early 1970s, or publicly in the last decade, might not have been available until 2023 or 2024."

Outrageous.  Un-American.  Antithesis of what is supposed to be a democratic republic, not a de facto fascist police-state run and owned by the top of the food chain.

"The changes to federal grand jury rules — which prosecutors and defense lawyers often refer to as “6(e)” — were recommended in a memo last year from senior Justice Department lawyer Jonathan Wroblewski to Michael Garcia, a New York State appellate judge and former federal prosecutor who serves on the advisory committee of criminal rules. Jennifer Stisa Granick, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, has asked the rules committee to reject the proposal, writing that it “suggests an almost insurmountably high standard that would allow the release of only the most historically significant records decades after their immediate relevance. This increased secrecy would percolate through the entire legal system with damaging results.” A Justice Department spokesman said the legal fight over the Mueller grand jury had no impact on the department’s desire to amend the rules, noting that during the Obama administration, then-Attorney General Eric Holder sought a similar change, albeit for a 30-year time period. Spokesman Joshua Stueve said the department “has maintained support for the release of archival grand jury materials of great historical significance after several decades have passed and no living person or ongoing investigation will be prejudiced or harmed.”

What a crock of shit.  The innocent are harmed at trial.  At press conferences held by law enforcement and prosecutors.  The hypocrisy?  Stunning:

"Stueve also said there are “sound public policy reasons” for grand jury secrecy, “including protecting the innocent.”

Day is night, night is day, and shit smells perversely sweet in the system of criminal 'justice.'  All ass backwards from reality:

"He said the rule change would mean “greater openness, not less,” since some courts “have ruled that judges cannot release historically important grand jury material because there is no explicit authorization for such release in the rules.”

Here's the bottom line:

"Prosecutors and defense lawyers zealously guard grand jury secrecy, often for different reasons; law enforcement officials don’t want sensitive investigations to fall apart because the suspects learn what prosecutors know, while lawyers for suspects and witnesses don’t want their clients’ reputations damaged, particularly in cases where no charges are ever filed."

The public is entitled to this information.  There is no other way to know whether justice is truly being served.  Lack of transparency precludes trust in the system.

"In opposing the release of the Mueller grand jury material, Justice Department lawyers argued that it should be off-limits because impeachment did not qualify as a “judicial proceeding” — one of the few exceptions to grand jury secrecy. The department has suggested a Watergate-era court ruling was wrong in finding that impeachment proceedings are exempt from grand jury secrecy rules. Now, the Justice Department is pushing to prevent judges from even considering the release of such material for 50 years. “We believe an amendment to Rule 6(e) would be appropriate to authorize the release of grand jury records of ‘exceptional historical significance’ in certain circumstances after 50 years,” Wroblewski, the Justice Department official, wrote in the letter to the rules committee. “[W]e now think 30 years is too short,” Wroblewski wrote, adding that Congress does not release “information involving personal data relating to a specific living person” for 50 years. “We also no longer believe that Rule 6(e) materials should ever be presumptively available to the public,” he wrote. “Grand jury secrecy should be preserved except in the most extraordinary cases of historical value.” The rules committee is part of a lengthy process of considering and finalizing rule changes that ultimately goes through the Supreme Court and can be altered by Congress. The Justice Department has also proposed a second change to grand jury rules — explicitly allowing prosecutors to get nondisclosure orders, also called gag orders, to prevent witnesses from sharing details of grand jury investigations. Prosecutors frequently obtain such gag orders for cases involving Internet and financial services companies. But not every federal court agrees that such orders should be imposed, and the new proposal would make it possible for prosecutors to extend such gag orders well beyond those industries to any grand jury witness they wanted to prevent from talking. The letter says the change is necessary “to protect ongoing investigations,” and proposes language that would allow prosecutors to impose 90-day gag orders that could be extended for longer if deemed necessary."

Outrageous abrogation of the First Amendment Freedom of Speech.  Antithesis of a democratic republic.  No more than an autocratic de facto fascist police-state. Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Such a change could generate more criticism for the department, which has already faced an outcry over its use of gag orders when seizing reporters’ phone or email records as part of leak investigations. (On Monday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the Justice Department would no longer seek reporters’ communication records except in very limited, specific circumstances.) Orin Kerr, a law professor at the University of California at Berkeley, told the “6(e)” subcommittee of the rules panel in April that there can be good reasons for some nondisclosure orders but that the Justice Department proposal was “too broad.” “It’s one thing to have a standard for nondisclosure on Internet service providers who are third parties and don’t really have any interest in disclosing, and another thing to have a rule that applies to anyone and everyone,” he said. “It’s not clear how often the government would use this, but whenever you adopt a clear rule allowing something, it’s always possible” it will increase the number of such gag orders. Granick, the ACLU lawyer, also objected to the gag-order proposal, writing to the panel last week that expanding “the use of already problematic gag orders would interfere with congressional and judicial oversight” of the Justice Department."

Indeed, what webs we weave.

Judge stands tall.  NPR reports:

"A federal judge on Tuesday blocked an Arkansas law banning nearly all abortions in the state while she hears a challenge to its constitutionality. U.S. District Judge Kristine Baker issued a preliminary injunction preventing enforcement of the law, which was set to take effect on July 28. The measure was passed this year by the majority-Republican Legislature and signed by GOP Gov. Asa Hutchinson. The ban allows the procedure to save the life of the mother in a medical emergency and does not provide exceptions for those impregnated in an act of rape or incest. Baker called the law "categorically unconstitutional" since it would ban the procedure before the fetus is considered viable. "Since the record at this stage of the proceedings indicates that women seeking abortions in Arkansas face an imminent threat to their constitutional rights, the court concludes that they will suffer irreparable harm without injunctive relief," she wrote. The U.S. Supreme Court in May agreed to take up a case about whether states can ban abortions before a fetus can survive outside the womb, a showdown that could dramatically alter nearly 50 years of rulings on the procedure. That case, which focuses on a Mississippi law banning abortion 15 weeks into a woman's pregnancy, probably will be argued in the fall, with a decision likely in the spring of 2022. Republican lawmakers in Arkansas and several other states, encouraged by former President Donald Trump's appointments to the high court, enacted new abortion bans even before that case was announced. A South Carolina law enacted this year that bans abortions six weeks into a woman's pregnancy has been temporarily blocked due to a court challenge. The bans were pushed by Republicans who want to force the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide."

Who the hell are nazis in the Republican Party to force their perverse ideology and religious views on the rest of us?  Direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"The American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood, which had challenged the outright ban, hailed Baker's decision. The groups are suing on behalf of Little Rock Family Planning Services, a Little Rock abortion clinic, and Planned Parenthood's Little Rock health center. The groups are also representing a doctor who works at the Planned Parenthood clinic. "We're relieved that the court has blocked another cruel and harmful attempt to criminalize abortion care and intrude on Arkansans' deeply personal medical decisions," ACLU of Arkansas Executive Director Holly Dickson said in a statement. Brandon Hill, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Great Plains, said Baker's decision "demonstrates that the court fully understands the harmful and immediate effects this law would have on Arkansans." Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, a Republican whose office had defended the law, was disappointed with Baker's decision, a spokeswoman said. "She will be reviewing it to consider the appropriate next step to protect the life of the unborn," spokeswoman Stephanie Sharp said in an email."

Amazing how the nazi element in our formerly great country Aryan arrogantly believes it owns your uterus, ladies.  Does it?  Readers are reminded abortion was illegal in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.

"Arkansas this year enacted 20 abortion restrictions, the most in a single state since Louisiana adopted that many in 1978, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a research organization that supports reproductive rights. Arkansas already had some of the strictest abortion measures in the country and two years ago Hutchinson signed into law a measure that would ban the procedure if the Roe decision was overturned. Another measure Hutchinson signed in 2019 banning abortions after 18 weeks of pregnancy is on hold due to a legal challenge. Hutchinson on Tuesday night said he hoped the case over Arkansas' near-total ban would ultimately go before the U.S. Supreme Court. "This legislation had the dual purpose of protecting Arkansas' unborn and challenging long-standing Supreme Court precedent regarding abortion," he said in a statement. "I hope the Supreme Court will ultimately accept this case for review."

A raucous boot clicking, goose stepping, treasonous, treacherous, traitorous Seig Heil!, Governor.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms in our formerly great country as our democratic republic turns into an autocratic fascist police-state.  Too deaf to hear?  Or, too aggressively stupid and out to lunch.

Another Chinese hack.  The Associated Press reports:

"The Biden administration and Western allies formally blamed China on Monday for a massive hack of Microsoft Exchange email server software and accused Beijing of working with criminal hackers on ransomware and other illicit cyber operations."

Empty talk.  Hollow rhetoric with nothing behind it:

"The announcements, though not accompanied by sanctions against the Chinese government, were intended as a forceful condemnation of activities a senior Biden administration official described as part of a “pattern of irresponsible behavior in cyberspace.” They highlighted the ongoing threat from Chinese government hackers even as the administration remains consumed with trying to curb ransomware attacks from Russia-based syndicates that have targeted critical infrastructure. The broad range of cyberthreats from Beijing disclosed on Monday included a ransomware attack from government-affiliated hackers that has targeted victims — including in the U.S. — with demands for millions of dollars. U.S officials allege that China’s Ministry of State Security has been using criminal contract hackers who have engaged in cyber extortion schemes and theft for their own profit, officials said. Meanwhile, the Justice Department on Monday announced charges against four Chinese nationals who prosecutors said were working with the Ministry of State Security in a hacking campaign that targeted dozens of computer systems, including companies, universities and government entities. The defendants are accused of stealing trade secrets and confidential business information."

This is a massive failure of both the Chinese and Russian governments to rein in their criminals.  Worse?  Both governments seem to be in bed with the criminal element.  Benefit from this activity.  Pockets are lined, power exponentially increased both in government and the business community.

"Unlike in April, when public finger-pointing of Russian hacking was paired with a raft of sanctions against Moscow, the Biden administration did not announce any actions against Beijing. Nonetheless, a senior administration official who briefed reporters said that the U.S. has confronted senior Chinese officials and that the White House regards the multination public shaming as sending an important message."

Think so?  Give me a break.  LOL.

"Even without fresh sanctions, the actions Monday are likely to exacerbate tensions with China at a delicate time. Just last week, the U.S. issued separate stark warnings against transactions with entities that operate in China’s western Xinjiang region, where China is accused of repressing Uyghur Muslims and other minorities. Then on Friday, the administration advised American firms of the deteriorating investment and commercial environment in Hong Kong, where China has been cracking down on democratic freedoms it had pledged to respect in the former British colony. The European Union and Britain also called out China. The EU said malicious cyber activities with “significant effects” that targeted government institutions, political organizations and key industries in the bloc’s 27 member states could be linked to Chinese hacking groups. The U.K.’s National Cyber Security Centre said the groups targeted maritime industries and naval defense contractors in the U.S. and Europe and the Finnish parliament. In a statement, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the hacking was “conducted from the territory of China for the purpose of intellectual property theft and espionage.” The Microsoft Exchange cyberattack “by Chinese state-backed groups was a reckless but familiar pattern of behaviour,” U.K. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said. NATO, in its first public condemnation of China for hacking activities, called on Beijing to uphold its international commitments and obligations “and to act responsibly in the international system, including in cyberspace.” The alliance said it was determined to “actively deter, defend against and counter the full spectrum of cyber threats.” That hackers affiliated with the Ministry of State Security were engaged in ransomware was surprising and concerning to the U.S. government, the senior administration official said. But the attack, in which an unidentified American company received a high-dollar ransom demand, also gave U.S. officials new insight into what the official said was “the kind of aggressive behavior that we’re seeing coming out of China.”

This remains a governmental problem, -- both theirs and ours.  Are cheap consumer products truly worth all the ongoing abuse and criminal activity?  Especially, in light of the following:

"The majority of the most damaging and high-profile recent ransomware attacks have involved Russian criminal gangs. Though the U.S. has sometimes seen connections between Russian intelligence agencies and individual hackers, the use of criminal contract hackers by the Chinese government “to conduct unsanctioned cyber operations globally is distinct,” the official said. The Microsoft Exchange hack that months ago compromised tens of thousands of computers around the world was swiftly attributed to Chinese cyber spies by private sector groups. An administration official said the government’s attribution to hackers affiliated with China’s Ministry of State Security took until now in part because of the discovery of the ransomware and for-profit hacking operations and because the administration wanted to pair the announcement with guidance for businesses about tactics that the Chinese have been using. An advisory Monday from the FBI, the National Security Agency and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency laid out specific techniques and ways that government agencies and businesses can protect themselves."

The problem clearly lies with the Chinese government which refuses to rein in its criminals:

"A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington did not immediately return an email seeking comment Monday. But a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson has previously deflected blame for the Microsoft Exchange hack, saying that China “firmly opposes and combats cyber attacks and cyber theft in all forms” and cautioned that attribution of cyberattacks should be based on evidence and not “groundless accusations.”

Fauci stands tall.  NBC News reports:

"Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the government's top public health experts, got into a heated exchange at a Senate hearing Tuesday after Paul accused Fauci of lying to Congress about the role the National Institutes of Health played in funding research in Wuhan, China. "Senator Paul, you do not know what you're talking about, quite frankly, and I want to say that officially." Fauci said. "You do not know what you're talking about." The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was responding to Paul's claim that the NIH funded gain-of-function research — which looks to increase the transmissibility or pathogenesis of an organism in order to study disease — at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Fauci said Paul's accusation was false, prompting a further exchange on what constitutes such research. While it was not a new accusation from Paul, the senator implied Tuesday that Fauci had previously lied to Congress and was aware of what the Wuhan lab was doing with grant money that came from the NIH. "Senator Paul, I have never lied before the Congress and I do not retract that statement," Fauci said in rebuking Paul's claim, adding that the issue had been evaluated many times by qualified people. "We don't know that it did come from the lab, but all the evidence is pointing that it came from the lab, and there will be responsibility for those who funded the lab, including yourself," Paul claimed, referring to the coronavirus. "I totally resent the lie that you are now propagating, senator, because if you look at the viruses that were used in the experiments that were given in the annual reports that were published in the literature, it is molecularly impossible" for those viruses to result in the coronavirus, Fauci responded."

Sadly, the Senator places partisanship ahead of principle, bullshit ahead of truth.  Reality?  What's that to a partisan?

Readers will recall:

"President Joe Biden in May asked U.S. intelligence agencies to "redouble" their efforts to determine the origins of the coronavirus after it was unable to reach a “definitive conclusion” on the matter. Paul was the first senator known to have contracted the coronavirus when he tested positive in March of last year, and he said earlier this year that he wouldn't be getting the vaccine since he already had the virus. The senator, a steadfast opponent of Covid mitigation measures and mask mandates, has clashed with Fauci before on other pandemic-related issues."

Nothing quite like aggressive stupidity, is there?  -- Defined as doing all you can to be as stupid as possible.  Unbridled idiocy.

"This is a pattern that Senator Paul has been doing at multiple hearings based on no reality," Fauci said. "I have not lied. Case closed."

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor?  Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
