Getting online has gotten increasingly difficult and expensive last four months.  Worse, access is outside since most establishments are closed or limited to drive-thru operations.  Lap tops are not designed to be used in such an environment.  Extremely difficult to see the screen.  Time for the readership to step up and provide assistance.  TC 7-24-20

In response to the pandemic, government quickly imposed draconian restrictions making access to public wifi exceptionally difficult.  Consequently, editions of this publication will be briefer and posted as regularly as possible until circumstances change.  TC 3-20-20

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

No matter what, no matter where, this publication will remain up and running.  For it to remain centered here, however, financial and/or material support must be provided.  Status quo, unsustainable.  Time to step up.  Now.

Brother dearest.  ... Been awhile, hasn't it, Bro?  A little antsy?  Wondering when the next shoe is about to fall, that is, when you'll be fully exposed for the thieving son of a bitch you truly are?  Patience.  All in good time, good buddy.  When I'm damned good and ready.  Timing just right.  After all, a son of a bitch who's stolen his father's estate needs to be fully exposed publicly for whom and what he is, don't you think?  Indeed, a public service for your neighbors, professional associates, family, and friends, etc..

Conveniently, forget?  Others need to protect themselves against a fraud who masquerades as both a teacher and a counselor, no?  -- How the hell did you ever pass an MMPI some forty years ago to get hired?  You're not stable.  Have not been.  ... Must have really been pissed off at the old man to rip off an estate, no?  How much did you steal while he was alive and supposedly under your care?

How much did you bribe law enforcement to ignore a complaint I filed with them years before the old man died?  How much did you bribe the prosecutor to ignore a complaint filed with her several years ago?  How much?  Use the old man's money to bribe the bitch?  Her cohorts?  Your law enforcement shysters?  While there may indeed be no justice from a corrupt system, fortunately, I do have a way to publicly expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.

... Unlike our grandmother who scrubbed floors on her hands and knees during the Depression for peanuts, only to have what little she had stolen by her son, our uncle, another goddamned thieving son of a bitch just like you.  Remember how, surprise, surprise, there was no life insurance when our grandfather died?  Despite the fact our grandmother gave her thieving bastard son premium money year after goddamned year?  Only, as the thieving son of a bitch he truly was, to have pocketed it.  Again, just like you.

Remember when he booted her out of the house she had bought him when he had had enough of her?  -- Despite the fact he had lied and promised she could stay the rest of her life?  She had to climb two flights of stairs on an ulcerated leg to get to a bathroom he had never built for her at ground level as falsely promised.   Nothing ever happened to the thieving son of a bitch as far as justice was concerned.  Worse, he was never exposed publicly for the thieving son of a bitch he truly was.

Will be different for you, Bro.  While you've bought off authorities, you will be publicly exposed.  In great detail.  In good time.  When I'm damned good and ready.  When exposure will do the maximum figurative damage to your goddamned sordid reputation.  -- Just the truth, brother dearest, however.  Just the truth.

Irony of ironies?  When the thieving son of a bitch died, and our mother was finally informed he had passed, she cried for her brother, -- the bastard thief who stole from her mother.  Sad, isn't it?  Too bad she's not still alive to see you publicly exposed for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you, yourself, truly are.  As was he.  Not in a court of law you've bought off, however.  Right here.

In good time.  Again, when I'm damned good and ready.  Employing the very same tactics used against Amanda Wright of Wells Fargo.  -- On steroids, however, since all dirty family laundry will be aired.  All of it.  No threat.  A promise.  Emails sent to your neighbors, friends, professional associates, businesses you deal with.  Although an enormous amount of work, all doable courtesy of the Internet.  Despite being some 1,800 miles away.  -- Small world, isn't it, Bro?  Enjoy the stolen loot, you son of a bitch.  Forget?  It's all you have.

Brother dearest.  Save all the check stubs from the old man's accounts?  Fraudulently sign any of them yourself?  Think this material couldn't be obtained from the banks either through discovery or a criminal investigation?  Still own the house on Condict Rd.?   Any other properties besides this one and the old man's you stole with the help of your shyster bastard? Be interesting to see how far your assets extend and where.  Think all that information isn't accessible?  That I won't determinedly obtain it?

That not only an extensive Internet search will be conducted that will likely take months to complete?  But an extensive background check as well?  Think the Catholic high school you attended shouldn't be informed of the thievery of one of its graduates?  Think the clerics there would be appalled at their failure to teach you right from wrong?  How about both universities?  Think neighbors in the old man's neighborhood won't be informed of your deception?  Think they don't have a right to know?

Ever follow the advice of Dr. Bert Wiser, psychological statistics professor at MSU?  That is, get treatment for your achingly debilitating instability?  Is that why you wound up looting the old man?  Or, is it simply a convenient excuse you'll use to defend the indefensible?  Think this will end any time soon?  That is, public exposure of you as a thieving son of a bitch?  We're just getting started, Bro.  Just getting started.

Don't like it?  Tough shit.  Sue me you thieving son of a bitch.  Would use discovery to learn and post on this website all there is to know about you, your activities, predilections, business 'deals,' as well as all your financial transactions, etc..  All of it.  Would certainly avoid the expense of an extensive background check on you, thieving brother dearest.

Even if you were successful in court, there is nothing for you to take, this remains, as well, a homesteading state where minimal assets are protected anyway.  This site is hosted in an overseas country that doesn't particularly like government intrusion, remains not prone to cooperate.  Besides, can always upload to another webhost in still yet another country.  The possibilities are endless, Bro.  Just takes willingness, effort, unshakable determination.

Even if I lost it all would be more than worth it to expose you for the goddamned thieving son of a bitch you truly are.  Even if you bribed a goddamned nazi 'judge' to remove posted material, would not cooperate and be more than willing to rot in jail.  Would certainly keep reposting it all no matter the cost and/or personal consequences every time it was taken down.  Forget, you thieving son of a bitch?  I never ever give up.

Since all I seek is your exposure for the thief you truly are, would all be worth it.  For the sake of principle.  All the work, financial cost, as well as the time I am about to dedicate to this effort, you deceptive, unstable, sick, thieving son of a bitch.  Unlike you, I live on principle and have absolutely nothing to lose.  You do.  Will certainly take great pleasure and satisfaction in doing all I can to publicly expose you for whom and what you are.

To say nothing of placing enormous pressure on prosecutors you and your equally corrupt shyster son of a bitch apparently bribed.  Don't like it?  Again, tough shit. Chew harder.  The public needs to know to protect itself.  From you and your shyster bastard.  People who live and travel in your circles as well.  Including his.  As a thief, you and he can't be trusted by anyone.  You'll determinedly f--k them.

More than willing to provide this truly public service.  People certainly need to know whom and what you are.  What you have sadly become.  You certainly weren't brought up to be a thieving son of a bitch.  What happened?  Where did you lose yourself, Bro?  -- Never mind.  ... Truly doesn't matter.  Only your exposure.

TC 4-22-16

Hey, Bro?  Remember me?  How soon they conveniently forget.  ... Half asleep? -- Out to lunch?  ... In your own perverse little world?  That of a criminal?  Wake up.  Conveniently, gutlessly forget?  Insanely believe you're someway, somehow off the hook?  Think again.  We're not done.  You remain a thief who will be exposed for whom and what your are.  What you certainly have become.  No question about that.  Patience, you thieving son of a bitch.  Exposure is coming.  Promise.

Think I don't have time?  Truly believe the ongoing Presidential fiasco ends no matter who wins?  The murderous decay in law enforcement gets resolved any time soon?  Criminal Wells Fargo employees from local Kingsland bank manager Amanda S. Wright right up to and including CEO John Stumpf get prosecuted in the near future despite egregious criminal activity?  Wouldn't hold my breath, would you?

Think I don't have time to handle all this and your public exposure for the estate-stealing criminal son of a bitch you've truly become?  How could you steal from the old bastard, you incredibly sad sack of shit?  Certainly weren't brought up to be a thief.  What happened to you?  Where'd you lose yourself?

No question, 2017 will be a most remarkable, defining year for you, Bro.  Public exposure for the thieving piece of shit you've sadly become.  It's on the way. Promise.  Hope you sue.  Nothing for you to take.  Tough, isn't it?  Certainly, makes me judgment proof.  Will certainly, as well, take advantage of discovery.  Publish every detail I can get my hands on.  No matter the consequences.  Only consideration?  Prime directive?  Your exposure for whom and what you are.

Readers?  This not-so-brotherly piece of shit stole from our father.  Manipulated the old man to line his pockets.  Just like our uncle on my mother's side of the family did to my grandmother.  Runs in the family.  Our family.   ... Right, Bro?  This game now gets played my way, -- not yours, you son of a bitch.  That is, no more U.S. Mail tag.

Anything sent by mail will be refused, returned unopened.  Want contact?  Email.  libertyinperil@riseup.net.  Quick.  Easy.  Better yet?  A digital record.  Permanent.  Easily accessible.  Easily uploaded to this site when and if it becomes necessary.  The shyster bastard you hired to steal the estate shouldn't expect escape, either, from public exposure as the thieving piece of shit he, like you, truly both are.  Unscrupulous thieves.

Sincerely hope that piece of crap sues as well.  Nothing to take.  Discovery again would be published no matter the personal cost.  Nothing quite like public exposure, is there?  Especially, when it is nothing but the truth and there is absolutely nothing to lose exposing two pieces of criminal shit for whom and what they are.  Two pieces of gutless human excrement who looted an old man.  ... Right, Bro?

There is no better disinfectant than sunlight, readers.  Glaring sunlight.  Dazzling brilliance.  Amazing how the roaches run for cover.  Equally pointedly, how vermin on two legs manage to so easily prey on the elderly courtesy of the out of control fascist police-state we now live in.  While there'll never be any justice vis a vis this theft, there will be exposure to the brilliant light of day for both criminal perpetrators.  Count on it, you not-so-brotherly criminal son of a bitch.

TC 10-7-16

Hey, Bro?  Hear of Old Sturbridge Village?  Haven't?  ... Not lying, are you, you thieving son of a bitch?  You and your long-term companion EC conspire, bequeath some of the old man's loot to this museum?  An achingly stingy gift of $250-$499, -- considering the size of the estate?  The CEO and Board have any idea you stole it?  Think they'd care?  -- Just getting started, dearest, dearest Bro.  ... Delusionally believe I haven't more than enough time, resources, determination to expose you for the thieving piece of crap you truly are?  ... Under $500 back in 2013?  Remarkably parsimonious with stolen money aren't you?   What does it feel like to have gutlessly ripped off an incompetent old man?  -- Dear old Dad.  Certainly, look forward to digging much deeper into how you and your shyster lawyer managed to bamboozle and loot the old bastard.  Back in the day, certainly wouldn't have fallen for your bullshit.  Would have kicked your worthless, thieving ass out the door.  Intend to expose it to the light of day.  Indeed, a public service. Seatbelts on, you thieving son of a bitch. Tally ho!

TC 3-24-17

... Brief aside, dear readers, for a most exceptional reason.  -- Although infrequent, pressing ongoing personal business must come first on rare occasion.  Hope you agree, moreover, find it entertaining, -- as this writer did crafting what follows.  Principle trumps all.  Remains prime mover, prime directive no matter what.

This pressing issue involves a family thief. A heartless predator preying on the elderly who must be held accountable, exposed to the light of day.  Especially, since authorities failed to do their job.  The following is part of that continuing effort to expose this piece of shit for whom and what he is:

Hey, Bro?  Guess what?  Me, again.  Most determined pain in the ass.  Miss me?  An inconvenient, nagging hemorrhoid that simply won't go away no matter what.  -- A pile with a smile that takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

... Delusionally think this most persistent nemesis of yours conveniently disappeared to parts unknown, vanished in thin air? To give a turd a break?  Wake up.  Not a chance, you thieving son of a bitch.  ... When you insanely believe this writer's gone and you're finally in the clear, guess what, here I am, right in your face.

Despite what's going on across our formerly great country, always have more than enough time for personal business.  That is, exposing you, Bro, to the glaring light of day.  A pathetically greedy predator.  Your target, who else, the elderly.  Most defenseless, vulnerable, an easy fleece.  -- Thought you'd steal from the surly old curmudgeon with impunity, no consequences?

Successfully escape accountability? Avoid detection, all responsibility?  Blatant theft of an old man's estate?  A little help from a bought and paid for hopelessly greedy unprincipled shyster?  Supposed cake walk due to 1800 miles separation?  No one to hold you accountable?  Your feet to the fire?  What could you possibly been thinking?

You've read this publication before.  Know precisely who and what I am, what I do.  Never give up.  Never say die.  Ignore all obstacles.  Know full well Liberty In Peril modus operandi remains as relentlessly ferocious, blindingly intense as ever.

No punches pulled.  No slack.  No personal consideration.  Certainly, not for a gutless son of a bitch, no more than a thieving predator.  Looted target, guess who, dear old dad.  Pitiful.  Delusionally believe you had the booty coming?  An entitlement?  For having had to put up with his shit all those years?  Wake up.

Hear of Historic Deerfield?  Of course, you have, you lying son of a bitch.  Forget?  You're one of their not-so-generous 'benefactors.'  ... With all the money stolen from our father's estate, only bequeath them a piss poor $40 bucks?

Unbelievable.  An achingly tight, cheap, thieving, worthless piece of duplicitous crap.  ... Write-off?  Negligible.  ... Feather  in the cap?  How?  Delusionally believe your treachery would never see the light of day?  What planet do you live on?

Board of Trustees Chair Anne K. Groves know full well you looted the estate?  How about President Philip Zea?  Think both don't have a right to know?  How about Anne Lanning, Vice President For Museum Affairs?  To say nothing of Susan Martinelli, Vice President For Business Affairs?

These officials are entitled to know precisely whom they're doing business with.  A thief.  Gutless phony.  Blow-hard fraud.  Hoity-toity dandy.  Worse?  An unprincipled thief who stole from his father.  ... Glaring light of day sucks, doesn't it, Bro?  No escaping the unvarnished truth, this most bitter reality.  Not a chance.

Saddest of all?  Back in the day, Hell would have frozen over before anyone would have have been able to rip off the craggy old bastard.  Remember quite well how intent, determined he was not to be fleeced late in life by a sick son of a bitch like you.

A leech.  Ironic, isn't it?  Gutless rip off of an old man who couldn't adequately handle his affairs any longer.  How do you sleep nights?

Fraud runs in the family, clearly.  History repeating itself.  Right in the footsteps of our grandmother's son, who callously ripped off his mother decades ago.  Again, another achingly pathetic piece of human excrement.  Just like you.  Intend to lay it bare.  Methodically.  Painstakingly. In great detail.  Living, breathing color.

For all to see.  A public service.  Exposure of the criminal piece of human excrement you truly are.  For sustained public review.  A goddamned thief.  Pissed? Chagrined?  Nonplused?  Tough shit.  Sue.  Would certainly immediately post all discovery no matter the consequences.

All snail mail will be returned unopened.  No phone tag.  Got something to say? Email.  Say it right here.  On this website.  In public.  For the world to see.  Will be posted in its entirety.  No editing.  Unlike you, this writer doesn't lie, cheat, steal.  Honors his word.  Intend to expose you precisely for whom and what you are.

Duplicitous predator who preyed on his own father.  Blinding exposure to benefit the community.  Have nothing to lose providing this public service, but you do.  No better disinfectant than sunshine.

.. Think the old bastard not spinning in his grave?  -- Old lady not doing the same?  One thing for certain.  Neither brought you up to be a goddamned thief.  Yet, here we are.  ... Until next time, Tally Ho!

5-25-18

... Hey, Sheriff? Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all? If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Tim Chorney, Publisher
Liberty In Peril

Some salient quotes occurring later on in this edition vis a vis unfinished business County officials continue to ignore:

... "No justice.  Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court that would adjudicate only these cases.  Total independence.  The only way to rein in these criminals, particularly the murderers in blue.

Sadly, the achingly clueless bastards in law enforcement don't need a legitimate reason to kill.  Enjoy carte blanche to murder on the job.  Nearly always, with impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Sue the living shit out of the jackbooted motherf--kers, the department, and the city.  Any officer engaged in, or threatening this kind of unnecessary violence needs to be criminally prosecuted.  Not protected and coddled.  Not put on paid leave, -- no more than a paid vacation.  Not sent home without pay to catch up on his beauty sleep.

Firing is egregiously insufficient.  How can the law enforcement community be trusted?  No foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than the criminal jackbooted bastards in law enforcement.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Madam County Attorney?  "Sonny Boy?"

These are extremely dangerous times for our formerly great country.  ... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looming.  -- As our legislators and other government officials figuratively 'fiddle while Rome burns.'

Not good enough.  Nowhere near.  Short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, only one way for these atrocities to end.  Again, time for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.

Local  and state authorities are egregiously incapable of handling these cases. Tend to protect their own.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Goes with the territory, doesn't it, Bill?  Precisely, why there is no faith or trust in your criminal jackbooted bastards.  Local authorities here in Nazi Llano County have their heads figuratively, securely lodged so far up their clueless ass their eyeballs are turning inside out.  Protect and coddle your clueless, out of control officers.  Imagine that.

Unadulterated, blatant ongoing horse shit.  ... Right, Bill?  F--k these jackbooted bastards.  Aren't worth a crap.  Continually abrogate their oaths of office to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  ... Right, Sheriff?  Includes not only deputies, but the brass as well.  No principles.  No honor.  Lying, conniving, abusive, murderous jackbooted thieving thugs.  The American Civil Liberties Union needs to step up and represent the victims of abusive law enforcement.

To say nothing of innocent civilians all across our formerly great country who are victimized by abusive police.  Need far better representation than a public defender.  Forget?  It's how the bastards in government line government coffers.  All too often, looting the innocent.  Those on the bottom of the food chain.  ... Right, Sheriff?

No justice.  The American Way.  Nazi America.  When is this shit finally going to end?  All of it.  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  Two hundred sixty five weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.

Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.  Who the hell are they?

When will the goddamned 'law' 'enforcement' community finally stop making excuses for engaging in outrageous criminal activity including blatant murder, violent assault, sexual assault, theft, drug trafficking, etc.?  List can go on and on.  Protecting its own no matter what it does or doesn't do?  Convenient, isn't it, Sheriff?  Again, no foreign power, no terrorist organization, not even the criminal element presents a greater threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties than all branches and levels of government, -- including law enforcement.

Corruption within law enforcement remains an existential threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  So what else is new?  ... Right, Bill?  Same old duplicitous, aggressively stupid shit occurs right here in Nazi Llano County.  ... Doesn't it, Sheriff?

Think it'll change any time soon?  Don't hold your breath, readers.  Not how things work in Nazi America, right, Sheriff?  Highly reminiscent of how your goons operate though, isn't it, Bill?  Forget?  'Stupid is as stupid does.'  F--ked up is f--ked up no matter where, no matter how.  Problem throughout all law enforcement.

Including right here in Nazi Llano County, right, Sheriff?  Too many officers clearly have their heads securely lodged where the sun seldom shines.  Egregious insanity continues to be perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  Ongoing issue.  All over our formerly great country.

Not just in Dallas as in the Guyger case, but all over the nation.  No end to it.  Surprised?  Why?  In today's increasingly national socialist climate anything goes, right, Bill?  Live in a de facto fascist police-state, quickly transitioning to the Trump nazi's Fourth Reich.  Certainly, a problem here in Nazi Llano County, isn't it, Sheriff?  Your goons, however, aren't held accountable when they egregiously f--k up.  Ever.

Precisely why you refuse to release information on your deputies to the long-suffering public? That is, employment history, criminal background, results of drug testing, etc..  ... Got to protect your criminal jackbooted thugs preying on the citizenry with virtual impunity, right, sir?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to a Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.  Why are you protecting this clueless son of a bitch, Sheriff?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression?  Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Ferociously pointedly, why are the District Attorney and the County Attorney continuing to protect this jackbooted piece of shit?  He and others like him present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

Equally to the point, why are your jackbooted pieces of human excrement refusing to enforce Berardi's property rights?  Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property.  Have you, your goons, and/or Madam County Attorney been bribed by Johnny Greene?

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property.  Coup de grace?  When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane.  Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing.  Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff?  You're not fit for office, Bill.  Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property?  Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked.  Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise.  Back up Berardi.  Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights.  Why?  Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road.  Imagine that.  Madam County Attorney well-aware.  Has done nothing.  Shit squat.  Egregiously ignored her oath of office.  Someone bribing you, Becky?  Lining your pockets, Counselor?  Paying you not to sell the unused unmarked County road to Berardi?  Doesn't the County want and need the sale money, to say nothing of the resultant tax income?

No question, County and State agencies remain determinedly, concertedly, achingly incapable of criminal investigation of their own.  Precisely, why a new federal agency desperately needs to be created whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, prosecute corrupt, abusive, criminal officers, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose sole function would be to adjudicate only such cases.  Total independence.  Certainly, go a long, long way to cleaning up this cess pool County.  Rein in the outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept, self-serving assholes who run and own this hell hole.

Sheriff, you falsely claim the Kingsland County Commissioner has the authority to resolve this ongoing property rights issue.  Clearly, doesn't.  You, Madam County Attorney, and "Sonny Boy" are certainly an egregious impediment, continue to determinedly stonewall.  Someone's pockets are being lined.  Again, where's financial compensation for the damage Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 is directly responsible for to the Pace Arrow?  Why hasn't he been prosecuted for this damage, to say nothing of infringement of Berardi's property rights?  -- Just getting started, Sheriff.  Far more to come.

-- You're not doing your jobs, Sheriff.  You've got a loose vicious dog problem in Kingsland, Bill.  When will you and the troops finally do something about this ongoing issue?  Certainly, a recurring problem on Skyline, particularly on occasion at the intersection of Odessa.  Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists are at risk.  Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?"

Counselor:

The enclosed emails were sent to the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff, respectively, vis a vis the above matter.  Remain unanswered.  The County Attorney appears to be protecting and defending the deputy at behest of Kingsland property owner Johnny Greene.  May have received some consideration from Greene up to and including a bribe.  Are the County Attorney, Greene, and the Deputy under criminal investigation?  If not, why not?

Re:  Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764

Counselor:

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Two hundred sixty five weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  Two hundred sixty five weeks.   Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Wake up, Sheriff.  The public no longer buys the bullshit.  No longer trusts you.  On this and many, many other issues.  You have no credibility.  Absolutely, none.

Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be many  others courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  This has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded.  An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget? Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. The Fourth Reich.

Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. When will you and the boys end the shakedowns?  Looting of the innocent to line County coffers?  No honor at all?

Where are your swastika armbands, you fascist son of a bitch?  You and your thugs remain out of uniform.  Once again, Sheriff, and ad nauseum, did you and/or your goons pressure Schilling to exit the race?  Did you steal the election? If so, an aggressively stupid, achingly gutless public gets what it truly deserves.  One of the most corrupt, abusive, inept 'law' 'enforcement' agencies in our formerly great country.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception.  On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe.  She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop.  She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office.  Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it.  Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this?  Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following.  It's appalling.  Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for.  No longer.

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news.  Received an award.  The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road.  To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property.  All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764.  The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago.  The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question.  How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.

7-3-20

Last three months been getting online at the Kingsland HEB.  Met quite a few readers at the picnic table.  -- People I didn't personally know, but who came up and introduced themselves.  Certainly, grateful for your concern, caring, and moral support.  One of the Front End managers, Kevin, had granted permission to plug in and access HEB Customer wifi at the picnic table some three months ago.  Someone in County government must have subsequently complained. Three months after the fact.  LOL.  Finally got the boot 6-27-20 from the achingly gutless Store Manager who couldn't, or wouldn't stand up to pressure from this asshole.

Pathetic, isn't it?  LOL.  Certainly, knew it was coming.  Hard to believe it took three months.  LOL.  Apparently, the gutless Store Manager, Monty, sent out the second in command, Dan, to deliver the happy news.  Spoke to him awhile, but sadly as expected, he had nothing substantive to say.  Other than, "leave."  LOL.  Advised him to send out the clearly reluctant Store Manager who apparently wanted to avoid the encounter.  Finally, came out.  Imagine that.

Asked the Store Manager, Monty Young, for a business card.  Remarkably, he had none.  Couldn't be, could it?  LOL.  An HEB Store Manager with no business card?  How is that possible?  Unlimited corporate greed?  Aryan arrogance of a privately-owned corporation?  Or, was he simply lying?  Informed him he'd indeed be front and center in this next edition.

Before getting into specific detail vis a vis my conversation with the Store Manager, it must be stated staff at the Kingsland HEB is second to none.  Have known many of them for years.  Work extremely well together as a team.  Certainly, exceptionally customer-friendly.  The problem with this store is not staff.  Not even the Store Manager and Assistant Manager per se, -- who apparently, despite their denials, had been pressured by someone.  It's the HEB corporate management suite at the root of most of the problems at this store.

The following salient issues were discussed with the Store Manager before I left.  -- Interestingly, none of which he denied.  LOL.  Readers, have you noticed cheaper generic products are either continually out of stock or discontinued?  Especially, after the store changed its product line weeks before the pandemic.  Apparently, in an effort to emulate the Marble Falls store that caters to the Horseshoe Bay elite.

New larger shopping carts were brought in to the Kingsland store so shoppers would supposedly buy more product, increase store sales.  Shelves are restocked 24 hrs.  Staff was unhappy because aisles are too narrow for the larger carts.  Makes it harder to stock shelves when the store is open.  Not only that, makes it much more difficult for shoppers to navigate the narrow aisles.

Product pricing has steeply increased.  They accomplish this both by directly raising prices, as well as in engaging in deception, that is, downsizing product.  One recent glaring example is their generic bleach.  For awhile, it was unavailable, out of stock.  Then, it was downsized from three quarts to two.  Price remained at $1.  A 33% increase.  Done deceptively.  At a time when inflation is supposedly non-existent.  What ever happened to the HCF quart and a half ice cream that sold for $1.99?  Long since gone.  Both aforementioned products had already been downsized once before.  LOL.  List can go on and on.  Unbridled corporate greed.

As I reminded the Store Manager, Kingsland residents, for the most part, are poor, young, elderly, and/or disabled, etc.  This store now caters to the rich who live on the lake and Sunrise Beach.  Not sustainable.  ... Especially, if the shit finally hits the fan vis a vis the Trump nazi, and/or a second shutdown occurs courtesy of the raging, poorly-handled, achingly mismanaged pandemic.

To store employees, all of whom I admire, consider personal friends, courageously provide your ongoing grievances to this publication.  I will publish them while protecting your identity.  If you won't stand up, nothing changes.

As I informed the Store Manager, the problem in Kingsland is the fact HEB has no substantive competition.  What is desperately needed is a Walmart or other major corporation to rattle the cage of local HEB management as well as the corporate management suite.  Until that occurs, nothing changes, shit happens.  ... Right, Monty?  Dan?

In the last two and a half weeks or so, three middle-aged women tripped and fell on the curb by the picnic table.  Third time, 6-26-20.  Took the Store Manager and Assistant Manager quite some time to exit the store and arrive with ice to quell the swelling of the woman who had fallen hard on her face.  I subsequently asked Monty to consider painting the curb iridescent red or orange to avoid injury and a future lawsuit.

Responded couldn't be painted red since it wasn't a fire zone.  Could certainly be painted orange or some other bright color.  If management doesn't care about a lawsuit, where is its concern for the pain and suffering if a customer trips, falls, and suffers serious injury?  ... Couldn't care less, Monty?  -- Or, is it, shortsightedly, insurance will indeed take care of it?  Wake up.  Just a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and sues the living shit out of HEB.  Even if HEB prevails in court, it loses.  Consider the cost of bad publicity.

To the credit of management, both the Store Manager and Assistant Manager return carts to the front of the store, sanitize them, and pick up trash.  Recently, associates informed me the Store Manager wasn't happy about the performance of the Assistant Store Manager.  LOL.  Apparently, ole' Dan got too good at hiding in the store, shirking cart and other duties, etc.  LOL.  That's apparently changed.  ... Trouble in paradise, boys?  LOL.  Itching to retire, Dan?  LOL.  Give me a break.  Never a dull moment, -- at customer and staff expense.

Finally, to the motherf--ker in County government who likely complained, don't flatter yourself.  Three months?  What took so long you gutless piece of shit?  LOL.  No matter what, Liberty In Peril will remain up and running.  Despite the fact it's been more than 21 years, just the very beginning.  Far more to come.  Far more County corruption, malfeasance, criminal activity to be followed up, and/or exposed.  LOL.  ... Bribed by Johnny Greene, Madam County Attorney?

Readers are advised there is a sticker on the back of the power supply stating:  "Please remove this sticker."  It cannot be easily removed.  Will not peel off.  Have hesitated to scrape it off since doing so might obliterate anything underneath it, -- if anything.  It is not covering a vent and there is no technical reason that it be removed.  Certainly, did not affect operation of the supply for the last year and four months I've had the machine.

Uncommon Valor.  Seatbelts on.  ABC News reports:

"A police officer in Virginia is being hailed as a hero after video was shared of him single-handedly lifting an overturned car off of a woman’s head as her child screamed for help nearby. The incident occurred on May 7 in Gloucester County, Virginia, when Deputy Jon Holt was responding to a report of an overturned vehicle with an entrapment, according to a statement from the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. The video was released by authorities on May 18. “The driver was laying underneath the vehicle with her head pinned by the sunroof,” the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office statement read. “Seeing the trauma her child was witnessing, Deputy J. Holt went into overdrive.”

Did he ever:

"Authorities shared a portion of Deputy Holt’s body camera footage that captured the entire ordeal as the officer can be seen arriving on site in his vehicle before sprinting towards the accident. A child whose identity has been blurred from the video can be seen inside the vehicle crying and pleading with the officer to help their mother. “She can’t breathe. She can’t breathe. Please help,” the child cries out to the officer in the footage shared by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department. Officer Holt can then be heard saying, “she is trapped under the vehicle. I can’t get it off,” before asking the child to get out of the overturned car as the screen goes dark and Officer Holt can be heard straining and groaning loudly as he attempts to single-handedly lift the car off of the woman. “Through sheer will and determination due to fearing the female may succumb to her circumstance in front of her panic-stricken child, Deputy J. Holt took quick action and was able to physically lift the vehicle up enough for the driver to maneuver her head out to safety,” read the statement from the Sheriff’s Office describing the miraculous and heroic act. This isn’t the first time Holt has been lauded as a hero, however. In fact, it was just three months ago that he was given the Top Cop Award for the region that serves the Virginia areas of Chesapeake, Hampton, James City County, Newport News, Norfolk, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, York, Gloucester, Isle of Wight, Smithfield and Windsor, according to the Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal. “Deputy J. Holt recently accepted both the local and regional Top Cop Awards from the Greater Hampton Roads Regional Crime Line on February 2, 2021 for his commitment to public safety after saving the lives of 2 individuals from a burning house on the afternoon of March 24, 2020,” said the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office."

Uncommon Valor.  Seatbelts on.  NPR reports:

"NPR's Scott Simon talks to writer Daniel James Brown about his new book, Facing The Mountain, which tells the story of Japanese American soldiers who fought for a country that rejected them.

Sadly, did it ever.

SCOTT SIMON, HOST:

"Facing The Mountain," the new book by Daniel James Brown, keeps posing questions to the reader. Why would a democratic government fighting fascist, racist dictatorships imprison more than 100,000 Japanese Americans in camps after the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941? And why would so many of the young people in those camps later fight so valiantly for the country that locked them up? Daniel James Brown, author of the previous best-seller "The Boys In The Boat," joins us now. Mr. Brown, thanks so much for being with us.

DANIEL JAMES BROWN: Hi. Thanks for having me.

Get this:

SIMON: We often hear these places that held Japanese Americans referred to as internment camps. In the first couple of pages, you say, no. It should be concentration camps. Why is that important to you?

BROWN: I think the language surrounding the incarceration of the Japanese Americans during World War II has been unfortunately euphemistic. Calling the camps what they were, concentration camps, is one step towards correcting the sort of abusive language that has surrounded that unfortunate incident in our history.

SIMON: You do add you're not comparing them to Dachau or Auschwitz at the same time.

BROWN: Absolutely. They were nothing like that, of course.

Certainly, were not.  They were, however, concentration camps.

SIMON: Boy, so many heroes to talk about. And as you write, utterly American - what's your phrase? They - playing baseball and football, marching bands on the Fourth of July, county fairs. What happened in America?

BROWN: In the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, their world was turned completely upside down as a result of executive order 9066 from the Roosevelt administration, which, of course, ordered the incarceration of everybody of Japanese descent along the West Coast. Over 100,000 people were forced to walk away from their homes and their businesses, to leave their schools that they were attending. It was a very traumatic experience."

Despite the above and far, far more additional injustice, consider the following.  Uncommon Valor:

SIMON: How was the 442nd formed, this utterly legendary U.S. Army outfit?

BROWN: In early 1943, the Roosevelt administration decided to create an all-Japanese American segregated fighting unit, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. And they're the ones that trained in Mississippi where these two groups came together. They wound up being one of the most decorated units of its size in the course of World War II.

SIMON: I mean, it's worth explaining - 18,000 medals, 4,000 Purple Hearts, 4,000 bronze, 21 Medals of Honor, also, by the way, France's Legion of Honour. It's breathtaking.

Certainly, is.

BROWN: They fought tenaciously in Italy. Then they were sent to the French-German border and then wound up back in Italy, breaking through what was called the Gothic Line. In all of those three campaigns, they served with astonishing distinction.

-- American citizens of Japanese descent courageously fighting for the United States despite all the injustice back home imposed by the President after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

SIMON: I want to get you to tell us a story that happened in a movie theater in France where there were a lot of Nisei soldiers, according to the book, who were sitting watching a film after the liberation of France, actually, I guess while it was going on. And for once their lives, being visibly Asian in a mostly white country was (laughter) - was to their advantage.

BROWN: For the very first time, really, the 442nd began to get a lot of coverage in the United States and particularly on the newsreels. So there was a brief interlude when the 442 young men were actually stationed along the Riviera. And so some of them wandered into a movie house in Nice, I think it was, and saw themselves up on the screen, you know, footage from the rescue of the Lost Battalion, celebrated as heroes. And it was really a shock to them because it was, in many ways, you know, the first time they had seen themselves and people like them portrayed in such a positive light, at least certainly since the attack on Pearl Harbor.

SIMON: And if you could tell us about the reaction of the crowd in the theater.

BROWN: The crowd stood and cheered. I mean, they were celebrities for a brief while there among their French hosts.

Uncommon Valor.  Best of the very best.  True patriots despite all the injustice.

No longer.

Shooting of children by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.  The Washington Post reports:

"Police shootings of children spark new outcry, calls for training to deal with adolescents in crisis. A Washington Post database of fatal force incidents finds most children shot by police are minorities and less likely to be armed than adults shot by police."

Fascinating, isn't it?

Readers will recall from an earlier edition of this publication:

"Stavian Rodriguez squeezed his 15-year-old body through the drive-through window of the Okie Gas Express convenience store, poking his hands out first so police could see they were empty. He jumped to the ground, holding his hands in the air, and then lifted his shirt to reveal a gun tucked into his front waistband. Using the tips of his thumb and index finger, Rodriguez gently pinched the end of the barrel far from the trigger — and dropped the weapon to the ground. As the gun hit the pavement, Rodriguez reached for his rear pocket; a volley of bullets burst out and the teenager sank to the ground, surveillance and camera footage show. Dozens of Oklahoma City police officers had responded last November to the 911 call at the convenience store, where Rodriguez was a robbery suspect. Five of them shot 13 bullets into the teen, from his head to his feet."

An execution.

"He is one of 112 children who have been fatally shot by police between Jan. 1, 2015, and Monday, according to a Washington Post database that tracks fatal police shootings. Over the same period of time, 6,168 adults were shot by police. “They knew he was a child. They were joking about whether he was in there calling his mom,” said Cameo Holland, Rodriguez’s mother, referring to conversations recorded on officers’ body cameras. “No one was asking, ‘How do we tactically approach this so no one dies today?’ ” The five officers who fired lethal shots into Holland’s child are now facing first-degree manslaughter charges. This is a rare response by prosecutors who tend to side with police investigators who routinely clear officers of wrongdoing. Prosecutors must also weigh whether they can persuade jurors, who tend to trust police more than other witnesses. The department said the officers shot because they perceived a threat and the officers’ attorneys say the shooting was justified."

An execution by the gutless, criminal, jackbooted bastards in blue.

"The long-standing question of how fatal police shootings of children could be avoided and lives spared has engulfed the nation in recent weeks. The debate was renewed by the death of 13-year-old Adam Toledo, who was killed by an officer on March 29 in Chicago and further fueled by another fatal police shooting of a knife-wielding 16-year-old, Ma’Khia Bryant, on April 20 in Columbus, Ohio. Three other children were shot and killed by police during the three-week span between Toledo’s and Bryant’s deaths. Police leaders have asked the public to withhold judgment in the Toledo and Bryant cases until the investigations into their shootings are complete. But they acknowledge that communities are less likely to listen as they become increasingly weary and distrustful of police. A Washington Post-ABC News poll in April showed 55 percent of Americans said they were not confident that police are adequately trained to avoid excessive use of force — up from 52 percent last July and 44 percent in 2014."

Clueless bullshit that simply does not ring true:

"Patrick Yoes, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police, said he hopes the public will recognize that officers are faced with instant life-or-death decisions and that even a child can be dangerous, especially if armed. Of Officer Nicholas Reardon, who shot Bryant, Yoes said: “I assure you he wasn’t focused on her age. He was focused on the knife. He was looking to save a life. Even children can pose a threat.”

The above represents a 'shoot first, ask questions later' gutless mentality cowardly embraced by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.

Here's the problem:

"Lawrence Miller, a clinical, forensic and police psychologist based in Palm Beach County, Fla., said that there is no national standard or set of protocols regarding how officers should handle encounters with children. He and other police training experts said they know of no academies or programs that offer specialized training to officers in this area, as they do for other segments of society, such as the mentally ill. “They need to talk to them like they are children, not yell a bunch of commands at them,” Miller said. Of the 112 people younger than 18 who have been fatally shot by police, according to The Post’s database, five were shot and killed by Columbus Police Department officers, the most of any single agency. Only nine other departments had multiple fatal shootings of children. The other 87 departments with such shootings since 2015 recorded the death of one child. The database shows that the circumstances leading up to the shootings of children are varied, with about half beginning with a robbery, a traffic stop, a stolen car or a 911 call. Most of the incidents took place during daytime hours; only one appears to have involved alcohol use by the child; and 19 of the children were experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the shooting. The database shows that children are frequently armed with a gun or knife during these fatal police encounters, but not as often as adults who die by police gunfire — 63 percent of the time for children vs. 76 percent for adults. Sixty-six percent of the children who died in fatal police shootings were Black, Latino, Asian or Native American compared to 44 percent of adults who were racial minorities. Children also were more often shot while running from police: 50 percent compared to 33 percent of adults."

No excuse for shooting at someone running from police.  None.  Simply, not acceptable.  No more than legalized murder accorded the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.

Get this:

"The youngest of the children who have died were 6-year-olds — Kameron Prescott in Texas and Jeremy Mardis in Louisiana. Both were killed as police fired at but missed the suspects who were their intended targets. The renewed focus on shootings of children owes much to their visibility: Videos of the Toledo and Bryant killings went viral, prompting national protests and stinging rebukes of police from high-profile celebrities and politicians."

No excuse for this shit.  None.

"Public pressure prompted police officials to quickly release body camera video of the incidents. In one, Bryant, who was Black, appears to be swinging a knife at two girls before she is shot. In another, Toledo, who was Latino, is running from police before he stops and turns, tossing an object behind a fence that police say was a firearm. A split second later, after turning toward the officers with his hands raised, he is shot in the chest. Among the 112 deaths of children in the database, only five incidents have resulted in officers being criminally charged, according to a Post analysis. Four officers in three cases have been found guilty on charges that ranged from murder to aggravated assault. An officer in a fourth case faced a single homicide charge, which allowed jurors to chose between murder or manslaughter, but they ultimately acquitted him."

No justice.  None.  Legalized murder accorded the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue.

"In the fifth case, the five officers who fired the lethal shots at Rodriguez last year were charged in March with first-degree manslaughter. They have pleaded not guilty. No trial date has been set. Prosecutors dispute the police department’s and the union’s characterization of the events that led to Rodriguez’s death. The department initially said in a news release that the teen was shot because he “did not follow officers’ commands” and had been “holding a pistol” when he climbed through the window. “Our brave officers leave their families behind and walk into dangerous situations every day to protect and serve this community,” Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 123 Vice President Mark Nelson said in a statement several days after the shooting. “Officers often provide commands in tense moments to ensure the safety of all individuals involved. Police training and experience tells us furtive movements and a lack of following commands present a deadly threat.”

The above?  Horse shit:

"Since then, however, additional videos became public — from police body cameras, news camera crews and surveillance cameras — and a more complex picture of what happened that night in November began to emerge. Court documents say security footage from inside the store, along with a police interview with the clerk, shows that the robbery began with Rodriguez pointing a gun at the employee as he demanded money. Another teen, 17-year-old Wyatt Cheatham, loaded packs of cigarettes into a backpack. (Cheatham entered a guilty plea on April 19 on a felony charge of robbery with a firearm.) Both youths left the store briefly, and after about two minutes, Rodriguez returned alone and demanded more money, according to court records. The clerk escaped out the window and used a security system to lock Rodriguez inside, court records say. He called 911 and officers poured into the parking lot within minutes, several taking cover behind the gas pumps."

Here's the problem:

"For more than 10 minutes, officers yelled conflicting and overlapping commands to Rodriguez as he hid inside the store, video and court documents show. In charging documents, prosecutors said there appeared to be no commanding officer organizing the response. Police body camera videos also captured officers joking about Rodriguez and the robbery during the standoff. “He’s probably calling his mom,” one says. Another says, “Oops,” and Officer Bethany Sears laughs and adds, “I messed up,” speculating on the teenager’s state of mind as he hides. Minutes later, Rodriguez stuck his hands through the window and pulled himself through. On a half-dozen videos, officers can be heard simultaneously yelling different commands at him — “Hands!” “Facedown! On the ground!” “Drop it!” A strobe light from at least one of the patrol cars — often used to disorient suspects — flashed into Rodriguez’s face. As he dropped the gun to the ground, the teen reached for his left rear pocket. At that moment, Officer Sarah Carli fired a less-lethal round — a 40mm foam projectile — that struck the teenager, according to prosecutors. Almost immediately, the other officers fired at him, the video shows. “A cellphone was recovered from the left rear pocket he had his hand in at the time he was shot,” the prosecutors’ affidavit said. On a body camera video, Rodriguez winces in pain as officers yell at the teen to show his hands. Officer John Skuta could be heard repeatedly muttering “Damn it.”

These officers clearly f--ked up.  Gets worse.  Get this:

"Then officers quickly huddled, video shows, and one of them told Officer Brad Pemberton to shut off his body camera video. Police are only required to leave their cameras on when they are interacting with the public, according to department policy. Pemberton, Sears, Skuta and Officers Jared Barton and Corey Adams were those charged with first-degree manslaughter, which carries a sentence of between four years and life in prison. Attorneys representing the officers who have been charged say the shooting was legally justified because Rodriguez reached toward the back of his pants after he dropped the gun. At that moment, they say, officers thought he could have been reaching for a second weapon."

Gutless pieces of shit these shysters are clearly making excuses for:

“This case is ultimately about whether each individual officer responded to a perceived threat in a way that was reasonable and in accordance with the law,” the attorneys said in a joint statement. “Five officers, with similar training, came to the same conclusion when the suspect made a sharp movement toward his waistband after being told to show officers his hands and get on the ground. While the results were tragic, the officers’ actions were reasonable and legally justified under the circumstances created by an armed robbery suspect.”

The above is based on an egregiously f--ked up 'shoot first, ask questions later' mentality embraced by the murderous jackbooted bastards in blue.

Delay of trial.  The Associated Press reports:

"The trial of three former Minneapolis police officers charged with aiding and abetting in the death of George Floyd will be pushed back to March 2022, in part to allow the publicity over Derek Chauvin’s conviction to cool off, a judge ruled Thursday. Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao were to face trial Aug. 23 on charges they aided and abetted both murder and manslaughter. Their co-defendant, Chauvin, was convicted in April of murder and manslaughter. All four officers also face federal charges that they violated Floyd’s civil rights during his May 25 arrest. Judge Peter Cahill said he moved the other officers’ trial so the federal case can go forward first. No date has been set for the federal case, but Cahill said it carries higher potential penalties. He also said he felt the need to put some distance between the three officers’ trial and Chauvin’s due to the high-profile nature of the case. The order for the delay came during a hearing on pretrial motions. The former officers were not in court, but their defense attorneys all agreed to the postponement. The state, via Assistant Attorney General Matthew Frank, did not support the delay. It wasn’t made clear at the hearing who originally sought the change. The attorneys left the courthouse without commenting.

"Former federal prosecutor Mark Osler, now a professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, said the delay could mean the former officers are talking about a plea deal, particularly since their attorneys supported the delay and the prosecution did not. “One can infer that the defense attorneys are hoping that the federal case will offer lower penalties for their clients and a dismissal of the state charges,” Osler said."

Andre Hill civil settlement.  The Associated Press reports:

"Ohio’s capital city will pay a $10 million settlement for the family of Andre Hill, a Black man who was fatally shot by a white Columbus police officer in December as he emerged from a garage holding a cellphone, the Columbus city attorney announced Friday. It’s the largest such settlement in city history."

Readers will recall:

"Hill, 47, was fatally shot by officer Adam Coy on Dec. 22 as Hill emerged from a garage holding up a cellphone. Coy was fired and has pleaded not guilty to murder and reckless homicide charges. “No amount of money will ever bring Andre Hill back to his family, but we believe this is an important and necessary step in the right direction,” Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein said in a statement. As part of the settlement, a gym frequented by Hill will be renamed the Andre Hill Gymnasium. Lawyers representing Hill’s family praised the settlement and the gym renaming, saying in a statement: “Now all those involved can begin to heal.” At a news conference Friday afternoon surrounded by Hill’s family, attorney Ben Crump said, “We come here to applaud the city leadership in saying Andre Hill’s life matters, and to send a message that we’re better than this America.” Hill’s daughter, Carissa Hill, held her toddler daughter as she called it a “a very big day for me and my family.” “We’re just sad we can’t share that with our dad being here,” she said. Hill’s sister, Shawna Barnett shared a similar sentiment. “The money is a good thing; but having Andre here would be better,” Barnett said."

Readers will recall:

"Hill was visiting a family friend when he was shot. Coy and another officer had responded to a neighbor’s nonemergency complaint about someone stopping and starting a car outside. “He was bringing me Christmas money. He didn’t do anything,” a woman inside the house shouted at police afterward. The shooting was recorded by Coy’s body camera, but without sound because Coy hadn’t activated the camera on what started as a nonemergency call. A 60-second look-back function on the camera captured the shooting. Coy, who had a long history of complaints from citizens, was fired Dec. 28 for failing to activate his body camera and for not providing medical aid to Hill. He was initially charged for dereliction of duty for not activating the camera, but those charges were dropped. Coy’s attorneys successfully argued the officer didn’t violate any duty because he was on a nonemergency run that didn’t require the cameras to be activated. Beyond an internal police investigation, the Ohio attorney general, the U.S. attorney for central Ohio and the FBI have begun their own probes into the shooting. Following Hill’s death, Mayor Andrew Ginther forced out Police Chief Thomas Quinlan in January, saying he’d lost confidence in the chief’s ability to make needed changes to the department. The city is narrowing a list of finalists for the new chief, with an announcement expected by month’s end. All candidates are external, with Ginther saying an outsider was needed to enact broad cultural changes in the department."

Needed to happen years ago.  Not only there, but across our formerly great country.

"The department is under scrutiny for recent fatal shootings of Black people by white officers, including the death of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant on April 20. And earlier this month, a federal judge ordered the city to alter the way it responds to mass protests, saying officers ran “amok” during protests over racial injustice and police brutality last summer."

The above was covered extensively in this publication and elsewhere.

"Ginther and other officials invited the Justice Department last month to review the agency for deficiencies and racial disparities in several areas. Chenelle Jones, a Franklin University dean and chair of its public safety program and a member of the new Columbus Civilian Police Review Board, said “no amount of money is going to bring Andre Hill back.” “It’s not going to solve the bigger issue of the need for transformation within the Columbus Division of Police,” she said."

Corrupt, abusive officer on trial.  ABC News reports:

"A former Florida sheriff’s deputy on trial for allegedly planting drugs during traffic stops testified that he is innocent, saying he found a stash of narcotics discovered in his patrol car but could not explain why he never reported it."

How about that?

"Fired Jackson County deputy Zachary Wester testified at his trial Friday that he found the methamphetamine, marijuana and syringes inside a box at a park restroom while investigating a report of suspicious activity. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Wester guessed that it had been placed there to be found by an inmate work crew so it could be smuggled back inside the prison. Internal affairs investigators found the drugs hidden inside his patrol car in the summer of 2018, shortly before he was suspended. Prosecutors say it was ready-to-plant evidence that Wester used during his traffic stops. He was charged in 2019 with racketeering, official misconduct, fabricating evidence, false imprisonment, perjury and possession of drugs and paraphernalia in connection with a dozen traffic stops where he arrested drivers and passengers. Prosecutors had to drop charges in nearly 120 cases involving Wester that occurred between 2016 and 2018 because of the accusations that he planted evidence. Wester, 28, said he wasn’t sure how an inmate work crew would get the drugs back inside the prison, “but it was extremely uncommon for that to be packaged the way it was and for it to be placed where it was.” He denied ever planting evidence, saying “that never crossed my mind.”

Think so?  Get this:

"But during cross-examination by prosecutor Tom Williams, Wester conceded that he never reported finding the drug box, which would have been one of the largest seizures of his career. He said he had gone to two traffic crashes after finding the drugs and was busy processing them when he was confronted and suspended. Wester also explained why body camera video showed him carrying a bag of methamphetamine before he searched the truck of a woman he had stopped for faulty brake lights. He testified he had found the bag in her door latch, but in his report he said he found it inside the truck in her purse."

Imagine that.  A liar.

What has changed?  NPR reports:

"After the murder conviction of Derek Chauvin, Black police officers in America are considering what's changed and what hasn't in the year since George Floyd's death. "There have been very few changes, and I think that's evidenced by what we continue to see occurring," says Cheryl Dorsey, a former officer of the Los Angeles Police Department. "I mean, even while all of that was going on with the murder trial of Derek Chauvin, officers still don't seem to be able to control themselves and give pause when they decide to use deadly force."

Certainly, the case.  Sad, isn't it?

"Dorsey is one of three former and current officers who spoke with NPR's Ari Shapiro — first, in June 2020, following Floyd's killing in Minneapolis, and again this week. Isaiah McKinnon joined the Detroit Police Department in 1965. He eventually became chief of police and served for five years before retiring from policing in 1998. In California, Dorsey joined LAPD in 1980 and served for 20 years before retiring. And in Ohio, Vincent Montague began his journey into law enforcement in 2008. He's been an officer for 13 years and serves as president of the Black Shield Police Association, which supports officers serving in the Greater Cleveland area. In their initial conversation with NPR, the three generations of officers spoke about the complexities of being Black in law enforcement and whether they thought change was possible in the U.S. following global protests about police brutality and racial injustice. At the time, McKinnon said he was optimistic. "We have young, white people that's involved," McKinnon said. "If this was just Black people doing this protesting, they would say, the hell with them." Dorsey was a little less optimistic and said she felt that those in positions of power weren't committed to permanent change. "I think that these police chiefs are being disingenuous," Dorsey said. "You know, they say what they need to in the moment to kind of calm folks down." Montague said he was hopeful because Black officers specifically had started speaking up. "In the past, if a Black woman stepped up, she's an angry Black woman. A Black man steps up; he's just angry," Montague said. "But now Black officers are having more of a voice and are not as afraid to say what needs to be said."

Certainly, a most positive change.

"Following the murder conviction of Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, Shapiro sat down again with the three officers to hear their reflections on the verdict and what they believe has and hasn't changed since last year. This interview has been edited for length and clarity. Ari Shapiro: Will you start by reflecting on what we just heard — your voices from one year ago almost? How did what we've seen in the last year compare with what you expected?

"Cheryl Dorsey: I'm right where I thought we would be. You know, there have been very few changes, and I think that's evidenced by what we continue to see occurring. I mean, even while all of that was going on with the murder trial of Derek Chauvin, officers still don't seem to be able to control themselves and give pause when they decide to use deadly force, in my belief, as a first resort rather than the absolute last thing you should use, having exhausted all other tools and opportunities."

Certainly, needs to change.

"Isaiah McKinnon: I think I'm eternally optimistic to a certain extent. But I agree with Cheryl to a certain extent. But let's go back to the trial of Chauvin. For the first time in my long history, literally, I saw a police department — that is, the chief and there's a commander — there are other people who stood up and literally said that the officer and officers were wrong. I've never seen that. I mean, I've seen a lot of officers that were taken to trial who were set free. That's never happened."

That's right.  A first.  About time.  Long past due.

"Interesting. So we've got kind of the glass half-full and the glass half-empty. Vincent, when you look at this, what do you see?

"Vincent Montague: I was optimistic the last time. And the culture of policing — officers don't want that culture to change. And the officers that I deal with — they're afraid of the culture changing, and they don't like to be held accountable. And you can see them saying that at work. Like, gosh, like, guys at work now are getting terminated. Like, Caucasian men are get terminated for things they would not have gotten terminated for in the past.

"You mean like racist words and actions — that kind of stuff?

"Montague: Yes. I'm happy that we have cameras now and social media to put this stuff out there. And it reminds me of my grandfather telling me about the civil rights movement and when the world seen how racist actions and Black people were being treated in America, and it forced changes to be made. And I think it's happening now, but it's not happening how it should be because, like the sergeant said, is that officers are still committing these actions."

Needs to change.  If not, hear the rumble?

Torture inflicted on the mentally ill.  The Washington Post reports:

"Charleston County sheriff’s deputies repeatedly used a Taser on Jamal Sutherland, a Black man with mental illness, in jail shortly before he died in custody in January, according to body-cam footage released by authorities this week. Body-cam videos released by the South Carolina sheriff’s office late Thursday show Sutherland, 31 — who was arrested at a psychiatric facility where he was receiving mental health treatment — being shocked multiple times and pepper-sprayed by officers and saying he couldn’t breathe as they attempted to forcibly remove him from his cell for a bond hearing. Sutherland, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, died less than two hours later. The county coroner has attributed Sutherland’s death in North Charleston, S.C., to what was described in his autopsy as an “excited state” with unfavorable effects from prescription drugs while police attempted to subdue him. But Sutherland’s manner of death remains “undetermined,” according to the coroner. The two deputies involved, Lindsay Fickett and Brian Houle, were placed on administrative leave, but they remain employed with the sheriff’s office. An internal investigation of the fatal encounter is ongoing."

Means shit squat.  Law enforcment 'investigating' itself rings hollow.

"Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson has indicated that she expects to announce whether to file charges against the deputies by the end of next month."

Why are you dragging your feet?  Had it been the other way around, a civilian would have been immediately arrested, jailed, quickly charged.  Why no equal justice?  Why special treatment accorded the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue?  Why?

"The release of the footage, which came after pressure mounted against authorities to share video of Sutherland’s final moments, triggered protests this week and spurred outrage from the victim’s family and activists, who condemned the deputies’ response to a man in need of help. “Mental illness doesn’t give anybody the right to put their hands on my child,” said mother Amy Sutherland at a Friday news conference. “That’s my child. I loved my child.”

Matters not to the corrupt, abusive, murderous jackbooted bastards in blue.

Too little, much too late:

"After the release of the footage, Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano announced Friday changes to better address the needs of inmates suffering from mental illness, including a policy to ensure that those in custody get the medications they need. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) said in a Friday statement that Sutherland’s death revealed how issues needed to be addressed surrounding “training, procedures, and policies around law enforcement’s encounters with those experiencing mental illness.”

Empty, hollow, meaningless rhetoric.  Symbolism over substance:

"Graziano called the events of Jan. 5 a “horrible tragedy,” saying her department’s responsibility was “the safety of Jamal Sutherland.” “As sheriff, I regret that this occurred,” she said in a news release. “I will continue to work with our judicial system, health care professionals, and community to ensure we are continually improving our processes and promoting the safety of all our residents and staff.”

Abject, self-serving bullshit.

"Body-cam footage shows the deputies, Fickett and Houle, shouting at Sutherland to get on his stomach so he can be accompanied to a bond hearing at around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 5. Sutherland, who is not initially visible in the video, is heard yelling and says to the officers that he can’t stand up. Sutherland ignored the requests of officers to come to the door of his cell to be handcuffed, according to video. “Inmate is refusing to open the door, refusing to cuff up, taken an aggressive stance,” one of the deputies says in the body-cam footage. “He’s already said we have to use force on him.” When one of the deputies attempts to handcuff and subdue Sutherland, the 31-year-old is heard yelling and thrashing, video shows. Moments later, Sutherland is shocked with a Taser multiple times and shrieks in pain. “I’m not resisting, officer,” Sutherland says, according to body-cam footage. It’s unclear how many times Sutherland was shocked, but Houle is later heard on video estimating that the Black man was struck "probably about six to eight times, at least.” As he was being handcuffed, one of the officers, identified by the Post and Courier as Houle, placed his knee on Sutherland’s back for more than two minutes. Sutherland is heard on the video pleading to the officers: “I can’t breathe.” Deputies lifted Sutherland, who appeared to be limp, into a wheelchair less than three minutes after they first stood outside his cell. “Is he all right?” one of the deputies asks. CPR was performed on Sutherland, but the efforts failed. He was pronounced dead following an hour of resuscitation attempts. Graziano, who noted that she waited to release the video until she received the blessing from the man’s family to do so, said the deputies’ efforts to remove Sutherland from his cell “were complicated by the increasing effects that Mr. Sutherland was suffering.” But Mark Peper, an attorney for Sutherland’s family, slammed the measures taken by law enforcement. “The video speaks for itself,” Peper said in a news conference outside the jail. “He is clearly, clearly experiencing mental health issues that cannot be adequately addressed at a detention center.” His sentiment was echoed by a coalition of South Carolina activist groups in a statement Friday, who said Sutherland “was handled like an animal by correctional officers who had no regard for his altered mental state.” An emotional Amy Sutherland fought back tears Friday as she told reporters how proud she was of her son. She also hoped people could learn from watching the video: “Please, no more hurt.” “I want y’all to know Jamal was a great man. He had faults like everybody else, but he was a great man,” she said at the news conference. “I’m content that God has Jamal.”

Violent abuse.  The Washington Post reports:

"Two San Diego police officers are under investigation after cellphone video captured them repeatedly punching a Black man during an arrest in the La Jolla neighborhood this week. The investigation was announced late Wednesday hours after Jesse Evans, 34, allegedly urinated in public, according to the San Diego Police Department. A woman who recorded the incident, Nicole Bansal, told the The Washington Post that the officers’ response to the situation, which saw police punching him in his face, head and legs, appeared to be “excessive and unnecessary” for a man she believes to be homeless. “He’s a harmless, houseless man,” she told The Post. Lt. Shawn Takeuchi, a spokesman for the police department, confirmed in a statement to the San Diego Union-Tribune that authorities were aware of Bansal’s cellphone footage. The officers have not been publicly identified."

Why not?  The public is entitled to the identity of its oppressors.

"The police spokesman noted to the Union-Tribune that internal affairs is investigating the incident and would be reviewing body-cam footage after city officials and critics called for a probe. Takeuchi didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday. Video of the arrest comes as the issue of excessive force by police continues to be a pressing matter for law enforcement nationwide."

Why are they dragging their feet?

"At around 9 a.m. Wednesday, police said that two officers attempted to talk to the man after they caught him urinating at the intersection of La Jolla Village Drive and Torrey Pines Road, about 13 miles outside downtown San Diego. Takeuchi said the man “would not stop to speak with officers.” Evans said at a Friday news conference that he never got the chance to relieve himself because the officers came around the corner to interrupt him about indecent exposure. Evans, who had a large Band-Aid under his left eye on Friday, said he started walking away from the officers, telling them to stay out of his life and lamenting that he hates the country and the culture because of their behavior. The altercation between Evans and police broke out as he was trying to get away from them to urinate, he said. Bansal said she sees Evans walking around all the time barefoot with a big orange life vest, often talking to himself. She said she started recording him because officers appeared to approach him aggressively. In Bansal’s video, officers are seen trying to detain Evans before all three ended up on the pavement. One officer appeared to be on top of Evans and punched him about two times in the head. “Stop!” Bansal yelled as she was recording from her. She said her window was down and that she was unsure if the officers heard her. Evans throws what appears to be a police radio and tries to hit the officer who had struck him, according to video. Seconds later, the officer in question is heard saying expletives and telling Evans to stop resisting arrest as his fellow officer tries to gain control of the man’s legs. When officers instructed Evans to put his hands behind his back, they again punched his head and legs and continued to tell him to stop resisting. Takeuchi said in a statement that Evans would not comply despite the repeated commands. Evans was punched some more by the two officers before additional police showed up on the scene to help with the arrest, video shows. Bansal can be heard in the video expressing her disbelief at the situation. “Four cop cars to deal with a homeless man,” she said. “This is insanity. Eight cops. Four cop cars. And they decide to get an ambulance.”

It's how the bastards get their cookies off.

"Evans was initially taken to a hospital for medical care before he was released and booked into county jail, reported the Union-Tribune. The man was booked on charges of resisting arrest and battery of a police officer, NBC News reported. He was released early Friday, according to the La Jolla Light. Bansal said that most of the public restrooms in the area are closed due to coronavirus restrictions, leaving homeless people to find solutions on their own. Community leaders have agreed with Bansal’s assessment of the arrest. Francine Maxwell, president of the San Diego branch of the NAACP, wrote a letter to the police chief on Wednesday demanding an investigation and wanting the officers to be held accountable. “To yell ‘stop resisting’ and to continually punch and slap this man was clearly not conducive to calming the situation,” she said. “The SDPD has a de-escalation policy that requires you to use time and space to defuse a situation, rather than immediately move to force.” San Diego City Council member Joe LaCava, who serves the La Jolla area where the incident happened, called the video “a tragedy and a disgrace.” He said in a statement that the arrest highlights the need for officers to not be placed in situations better suited for behavioral specialists. “You would not send a doctor to arrest a criminal, police should not respond to mental health situations,” he said. “This event obligated precious resources from the SDPD, the hospital, and the jails. This individual will likely be back on the street unconnected to resources.” Area advocates have worked to get Evans out of jail and working with him as he selects a lawyer in the process, said Shane Harris, founder of People’s Association of Justice Advocates, at a Friday news conference. Harris called on the mayor and the police department to release the body-cam footage of the encounter with Evans along with dispatch recordings “to get the whole story in context.” Evans said that he’s forgiven the officers who hit him but hopes that better trained people will be hired on the force in the future. “I hope I’m the last victim of such nonsense to me,” he said. “I hope that we can hire reasonable individuals to look out for us and protect and serve our greater good in a better way and represent us in a better way.”

No longer.

Nazi justice courtesy of a 6-3 Republican nazi-owned U.S. Supreme Court.  The Associated Press reports:

"The Supreme Court ruled Monday that prisoners who were convicted by non-unanimous juries before the high court barred the practice a year ago don’t need to be retried."

Imagine that.  No due process.  None.  Convenient, isn't it, for the Nazi Right?

"The justices ruled 6-3 along conservative-liberal lines that prisoners whose cases had concluded before the justices’ 2020 ruling shouldn’t benefit from it. The decision affects prisoners who were convicted in Louisiana and Oregon as well as the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, the few places that had allowed criminal convictions based on divided jury votes. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote for the conservative majority that the court’s “well-settled retroactivity doctrine” led to the conclusion that the decision doesn’t apply retroactively. The decision “tracks the Court’s many longstanding precedents on retroactivity,” he wrote."

Jesus Christ.  Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state.  Democratic republic in name only.

"In a dissent joined by her two liberal colleagues, Justice Elena Kagan wrote that as a result of the ruling, “For the first time in many decades ... those convicted under rules found not to produce fair and reliable verdicts will be left without recourse in federal courts.”

Raw nazism.  Direct assault on the U.S. Constitution.  Hard dump on the Bill of Rights.

"During arguments in the case in December, which were held by phone because of the coronavirus pandemic, the justices were told that ruling in favor of the prisoners could mean retrials for 1,000 to 1,600 people in Louisiana alone. States and the Trump administration had urged the court not to give more prisoners the benefit of the ruling, saying doing so would be “massively disruptive” in both Louisiana and Oregon and might mean “the release of violent offenders who cannot practically be retried.”

What a crock of shit.  The Nazi Right in our formerly great country, including the six GOP fascists on the Court, present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

An exceptionally shortsighted ruling that failed to universally apply to all:

"As a result of the high court’s 2020 ruling, juries everywhere must vote unanimously to convict. But that decision affected only future cases and cases in which the defendants were still appealing their convictions when the high court ruled. The question the high court was answering in the current case was whether the decision should be made retroactive to cases that were final before the ruling. During arguments, several justices noted the very high bar past cases have set to making similar new rules retroactive. Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry praised the ruling."

What nazi wouldn't?  Adolf and Benito?  Likely, wildly cheering on their fiery perches.

“Today, the Supreme Court reaffirmed long-final convictions involving rape, murder, child molestation, and other violent crimes,” he said in a statement. “At a time when crime rates are through the sky and attempts to erode law and order are incessant, it is assuring that the Supreme Court upheld the rule of law.”

Disingenuous bullshit.  Quite the opposite occurred.  History will not kindly treat this outrageously shortsighted ruling.  The ruling denied due process to all.  For the sake of political expediency courtesy of the six GOP fascists on the Court.  Reinforced the sad reality racism is indeed alive and well on the U.S. Supreme Court.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"The case the justices ruled in involves Louisiana prisoner Thedrick Edwards. A jury convicted Edwards of rape and multiple counts of armed robbery and kidnapping. The jury divided 10-2 on most of the robbery charges and 11-1 on the remaining charges. Edwards, who had confessed to police, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Edwards, who is Black, has argued among other things that prosecutors intentionally kept Black jurors off the case; the lone Black juror on the case voted to acquit him. The case is Edwards v. Vannoy, 19-5807."

No longer.

A step backward in our formerly great country, courtesy of the Nazi Right.  The Associated Press reports:

"South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has signed into law a bill that forces death row inmates for now to choose between the electric chair or a newly formed firing squad in hopes the state can restart executions after an involuntary 10-year pause."

Mighty 'generous' of the nazi Governor and Legislature, isn't it?

"South Carolina had been one of the most prolific states of its size in putting inmates to death. But a lack of lethal injection drugs brought executions to a halt."

Sadly, it's how the hopelessly ignorant Nazi Right gets its cookies off.

"McMaster signed the bill Friday with no ceremony or fanfare, according to the state Legislature’s website. It’s the first bill the governor decided to deal with after nearly 50 hit his desk Thursday."

No question.  Easy decision for a nazi governor.

The following remains clueless bullshit embraced by GOP law and order nazis in our formerly great country:

“The families and loved ones of victims are owed closure and justice by law. Now, we can provide it,” McMaster said on Twitter on Monday."

The Governor is a disingenuous liar.  What it remains is certainly not justice.  It's revenge.

"Last week state lawmakers gave their final sign offs to the bill, which retains lethal injection as the primary method of execution if the state has the drugs, but requires prison officials to use the electric chair or firing squad if it doesn’t."

What if the inmate refuses to choose either the chair or firing squad?  Who makes the decision?  The nazi governor?  A 'judge?'  Prison officials?

Get this:

"Prosecutors said three inmates have exhausted all their normal appeals, but can’t be killed because under the previous law, inmates who don’t choose the state’s 109-year-old electric chair automatically are scheduled to die by lethal injection. They have all chosen the method that can’t be carried out. How soon executions can begin is up in the air. The electric chair is ready to use. Prison officials have been doing preliminary research into how firing squads carry out executions in other states, but are not sure how long it will take to have one in place in South Carolina. The other three states that allow a firing squad are Mississippi, Oklahoma and Utah, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. Three inmates, all in Utah, have been killed by firing squad since the U.S. reinstated the death penalty in 1977. Nineteen inmates have died in the electric chair this century, and South Carolina is one of eight states that can still electrocute inmates, according to the center."

Nothing quite like 'enlightenment,' is there?

"Lawyers for the men with potentially imminent death dates are considering suing over the new law, saying the state is going backward. “These are execution methods that previously were replaced by lethal injection, which is considered more humane, and it makes South Carolina the only state going back to the less humane execution methods,” said Lindsey Vann of Justice 360, a nonprofit that represents many of the men on South Carolina’s death row. From 1996 to 2009, South Carolina executed close to average of three inmates a year. But a lull in death row inmates reaching the end of their appeals coincided a few years later with pharmaceutical companies refusing to sell states the drugs needed to sedate inmates, relax their muscles and stop their hearts."

Amazing, isn't it, how hopelessly greedy pharmaceutical manufacturers finally found some semblance of conscience?  LOL.

"South Carolina’s last execution took place in May 2011, and its batch of lethal injection drugs expired in 2013. Supporters of the bill said the death penalty remains legal in South Carolina, and the state owes it to the family of the victims to find a way to carry out the punishment. Democrats in the House suggested several changes to the bill that were not approved, including livestreaming executions on the internet and requiring lawmakers to attend executions. “We must be willing to look at the faces of the individuals we are voting on today to kill,” said Rep. Jermaine Johnson, a Democrat from Hopkins."

You think?

Not only raw nazism involved here, blatant racism as well:

"Opponents brought up the case of 14-year-old George Stinney, who South Carolina sent to the electric chair in 1944 after a one-day trial in the deaths of two white girls. He was the youngest person executed in the U.S. in the 20th century. A judge threw out the Black teen’s conviction in 2014. Stinney’s case is a reminder the death penalty in South Carolina has always been “racist, arbitrary, and error-prone” and continues to be, said Frank Knaack, executive director of the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. “In the midst of a national reckoning around systemic racism, our Governor ensured that South Carolina’s death penalty — a system rooted in racial terror and lynchings — is maintained,” Knaack said in a statement. Nineteen of the 37 inmates currently on the state’s death row are Black."

Nothing quite like consistency, is there?  LOL.  Get this:

"Seven Republicans in the House voted against the bill, most of them saying it did not make moral sense to approve sending people to their deaths, when three months ago, many of those same lawmakers approved a bill outlawing almost all abortions, saying all life is sacred.

Not to the nazi element in the hopelessly clueless law and order GOP.

“If you’re cool with the electric chair, you might as well be cool with burning at the stake,” said Rep. Jonathon Hill, a Republican from Townville."

No shit.

Imagine that.  Couldn't be, could it?  Supreme Court finally gets it right, 9-0.  United Press International reports:

"The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled that a doctrine allowing police to carry out searches without a warrant in some cases does not apply to entering private homes. In a 9-0 decision, the court determined that police officers overstepped their bounds when they seized two handguns from the home of a Rhode Island man without a warrant after he had been involved in a heated argument with his wife. Both liberal and conservative activists had advocated against the police position in the case, warning that upholding lower courts' decisions would greatly expand the justifications for conducting warrantless searches. In writing for the court in the case of Caniglia vs. Strom, Justice Clarence Thomas determined that the "community caretaking" exception -- under which police can carry out warrantless searches if they are performing "community caretaking functions" -- does not apply to entering private homes. "The very core of the Fourth Amendment's guarantee is the right of a person to retreat into his or her home and 'there be free from unreasonable governmental intrusion,'" Thomas wrote."

Here's what happened:

"In the case, petitioner Edward Caniglia placed a handgun on the dining room table and asked his wife to "shoot [him] and get it over with." His wife instead left the home and spent the night at a hotel. After she was unable to reach her husband by phone the next morning, she called the police to request a welfare check. The responding officers accompanied the wife to the home, where they encountered Caniglia on the porch. Believing he could pose a risk to himself or others, the officers called an ambulance. Caniglia agreed to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation on the condition that the officers not confiscate his firearms. But once he left, the court said, the officers nonetheless located and seized his guns. Caniglia sued, claiming that the officers had entered his home and seized him and his firearms without a warrant in violation of the Fourth Amendment. Lower courts found in favor of the officers, basing their decisions on a theory that the removal of Caniglia and his firearms from his home was justified by the community caretaking exception to warrant requirements. The exception states that police can, for instance, legally carry out a warrantless search of an impounded vehicle in the course of their civic duties. But that doctrine is "not an open-ended license to perform them anywhere," Thomas wrote. "What is reasonable for vehicles is different from what is reasonable for homes," he said."

Amazing, isn't it, coming from Thomas?

"In a rare instance of agreement, both the American Civil Liberties Union and the American Conservative Union Foundation joined the libertarian Cato Institute in a joint brief urging the court to restrict the community caretaking exception "to its historic vehicle-related origins."

Most remarkable.

Nazi justice in a de facto fascist police-state, democratic republic in name only.  In follow-up to a case covered repeatedly in this publication and elsewhere, The Associated Press reports:

"A North Carolina prosecutor said Tuesday that sheriff’s deputies were justified in fatally shooting Andrew Brown Jr. because he ignored their commands and endangered at least two of them when he drove his car toward them. District Attorney Andrew Womble said at a news conference that Brown used his car as a “deadly weapon,” causing Pasquotank County deputies to believe it was necessary to use deadly force. Womble, who acknowledged Brown wasn’t armed with guns or other weapons, said the deputies will face no criminal charges."

If what you say is true, Mr. DA, why won't you immediately release all unredacted videos in their entirety to prove to the public you are not a liar covering up for your jackbooted bastards in blue?

Here's the ongoing issue the bastards in blue and their DA shyster refuse to resolve:

"Attorneys for Brown’s family who watched body camera footage have previously said that he was trying to drive away from deputies and posed no threat. Family attorney Harry Daniels said that the family was preparing a response to Womble’s announcement. During his news conference, Womble said a deputy who tried to open Brown’s car door wound up partly on the hood as Brown backed up, and the deputy found himself directly in the car’s path moments later when Brown drove forward. Womble said the deputy had to push off the car with his hand to narrowly avoid being run over, and at least one of the other deputies was also endangered as the group tried to take Brown into custody on drug-related warrants. “I find that the facts of this case clearly illustrate the officers who used deadly force on Andrew Brown Jr. did so reasonably and only when a violent felon used a deadly weapon to put their lives in danger,” Womble said, referring to Brown’s car."

Prove it, you son of a bitchRelease all unredacted videos in their entirety. Without all videos, your word means shit squat.

"He added that he found that “Brown’s actions and conduct were indeed dangerous by the time of the shooting. ... Brown posed an immediate threat to the safety of the officers and others.”

Without all unredacted videos in their entirety to back up his claims, the District Attorney cannot be trusted to be telling the truth.

Adding further doubt to the District Attorney's claims:

"The sheriff has said his deputies weren’t injured."

The District Attorney selectively played portions of the video to back up his claims.  Without release of all unredacted videos in their entirety, the District Attorney cannot be taken at his word, that is, to be telling the truth:

"The prosecutor said he would not release bodycam video of the confrontation between Brown and the law enforcement officers, but he played portions of the video during the news conference that multiple news outlets broadcast live."

Convenient, isn't it?  Disingenuous bullshit as well.  Since the bastard will not be charging the jackbooted bastards in blue, and the fact that their victim is dead and cannot be charged with anything, why is this son of a bitch refusing to release all unredacted videos in their entirety?  Has he selectively edited video to suit his purposes?  To protect the officers against federal and/or state charges?  Without all videos, the questions can go on and on.

"The shooting on April 21 sparked protests over multiple weeks by demonstrators calling for the public release of the body camera video. While authorities have shown footage to Brown’s family, a judge refused to release the video publicly pending a probe by the State Bureau of Investigation. Womble made his determination to not charge any of the officers after reviewing the bureau’s report."

Fascinating, isn't it?  Could it be racists in state and local government are protecting these officers?  Only release of all unredacted videos in their entirety can settle whether or not these officials are lying or telling the truth.  The bottom line, as always, should be the truth.  Without all videos, we have no idea who is lying and who is not.  Can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit, right, Mr. District Attorney?

"The three deputies involved in the shooting — Investigator Daniel Meads, Deputy Robert Morgan and Cpl. Aaron Lewellyn — have been on leave since it happened. The sheriff’s office said Morgan is Black, while Meads and Lewellyn are white. A lawyer who represented the three deputies during a court hearing on petitions to release the video didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment Tuesday."

Readers will recall:

"Four other deputies who were at the scene were reinstated after the sheriff said they didn’t fire their weapons. An independent autopsy released by the family found that Brown was hit by bullets five times, including once in the back of the head. Lawyers for Brown’s family who watched body camera footage say that it shows Brown was not armed and that he didn’t drive toward deputies or pose a threat to them. Separately, the FBI has launched a civil rights probe of the shooting."

Accountability?  Zilch.  Nada.  Determinedly, so.  Courtesy of the racist nazi element in our formerly great country.

CBS News reports:

"An attorney for the family of Andrew Brown Jr., who was shot and killed by North Carolina sheriff's deputies in his car last month, says District Attorney Andrew Womble did not tell the full story when he announced in a Tuesday press conference that the shooting was "justified" and officers would not be charged. "The DA, he cherry-picked what he wanted to show. But what he picked still shows an unjustified shooting," civil rights lawyer Harry Daniels said in an interview on CBSN Wednesday.  "He wants you to believe what he is saying, not what you see." Brown, a 42-year-old Black man, was shot and killed in April in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, when sheriff's deputies who were serving felony warrants and a search warrant surrounded his car. Authorities initially refused to make body camera video of the incident public, and the shooting and accusations of a lack of transparency sparked protests. Womble showed portions of the video publicly for the first time at Tuesday's press conference. He said his office's investigation determined that the deputies involved in the shooting were justified in using deadly force, and that the video showed Brown was using his car as a "deadly weapon" against the officers. The car is seen moving close to several officers before they opened fire, and it sped away and crashed. Officers can be seen firing their weapons even after the car drove past them. "Once he got past officers and they continued to shoot and fire their weapons, you have force continuum. You cannot continue to shoot in perpetuity just because you believe this person was a threat at some point," Daniels said."

No transparency.  Time for all unredacted videos in their entirety to be released.

"Brown was unarmed at the time, and after being shown the video last week his family compared the killing to an "execution." "Anybody who believed Mr. Brown used that vehicle as a weapon — you are the problem of what's wrong with America today," Daniels said. "So I will speak directly to the district attorney: If he thinks that vehicle was weaponized, then he is the problem with what is wrong with America today and why we continue to have no accountability for the killing of unarmed people in America." Brown's family's attorneys also petitioned in court for the full, unredacted footage of the incident to be made public. "There is no reason for them to keep the video at this point, considering the DA said he is not going to press any charges," Daniels said. He argued the video would show the killing was "not even close" to justified. "If you listen to somebody giving their narration, they only show you bits and pieces, and they say 'Look, here, he was coming at an officer' and pause it. But when you look at the totality of the entire video, of what he showed in the continuous running, you won't see it. We will not see a justified shooting. I don't think — honestly, I don't even think it is a close call," Daniels said. He said he hopes a court would decide based on the "objective evidence" that Brown should not have been killed. "I believe, once the courts, the Supreme Court or the district court of North Carolina, the court of appeals, whatever court we end up being in, will look at this video and see there was no imminent threat," he said. "In fact, there was no threat."

Savages in blue.  CBS News reports:

"The 2019 arrest outside Monroe, Louisiana, is the subject of a federal civil rights investigation. But unlike other in-custody deaths across the nation where body camera video was released almost immediately, Greene's case has been shrouded in secrecy and accusations of a cover-up. Louisiana officials have rebuffed repeated calls to release footage and details about what caused the 49-year-old's death. Troopers initially told Greene's family he died on impact after crashing into a tree during the chase. Later, State Police released a one-page statement acknowledging only that Greene struggled with troopers and died on his way to the hospital. Only now in the footage obtained by the AP from one trooper's body camera can the public see for the first time some of what happened during the arrest. The 46-minute clip shows one trooper wrestling Greene to the ground, putting him in a chokehold and punching him in the face while another can be heard calling him a "stupid motherf----." Greene wails "I'm sorry!" as another trooper delivers another stun gun shock to his backside and warns, "Look, you're going to get it again if you don't put your f----- hands behind your back!" Another trooper can be seen briefly dragging the man facedown after his legs had been shackled and his hands cuffed behind him. Instead of rendering aid, the troopers leave the burly man unattended, facedown and moaning for more than nine minutes as they use sanitizer wipes to wash blood off their hands and faces."

Criminal jackbooted motherf--kers in blue.  Gets worse.  Get this:

"I hope this guy ain't got f------ AIDS," one of the troopers can be heard saying. After a several-minute stretch in which Greene is not seen on camera, he appears again, limp, unresponsive and bleeding from his head and face. He is then loaded onto an ambulance gurney, his arm cuffed to the bedrail. In many parts of the video, Greene is not on screen, and the trooper appears to cut the microphone off about halfway through, making it difficult to piece together exactly what was happening at all times. At least six troopers were on the scene of the arrest but not all had their body cameras on. "They murdered him. It was set out, it was planned," Greene's mother, Mona Hardin, said Wednesday. "He didn't have a chance. Ronnie didn't have a chance. He wasn't going to live to tell about it." An attorney for Greene's family, Lee Merritt, said the footage "has some of the same hallmarks of the George Floyd video, the length of it, the sheer brutality of it." "He apologized in an attempt to surrender," Merritt said."

Savages in blue.

Unadulterated disingenuous bullshit:

"A State Police spokesperson said in a statement to CBS News on Wednesday the agency didn't authorize the release of the video. "LSP is confident in the judicial system and fair review of this incident and continues to offer our full cooperation," the spokesperson said. "Unauthorized release of evidence undermines the investigative process and compromises the fair and impartial outcome for the Greene family, LSP employees, and the community." State Police brass initially argued the troopers' use of force was justified — "awful but lawful," as ranking officials described it — and did not open an administrative investigation until 474 days after Greene's death."

Stonewalling. A cover-up.

"Police departments have got to stop putting roadblocks up to information that is, in the public's eye, questionable. They have to reveal all that they know, when they know it," said Andrew Scott, a former Boca Raton, Florida, police chief who testifies as an expert witness in use-of-force cases. "It suggests that you're hiding something." While noting Greene "was not without fault" and appeared to resist the troopers' orders, Scott said dragging the handcuffed man facedown by his ankle shackles was "malicious, sadistic, completely unnecessary." "That should never have never happened," he said. "You've got the guy completely compromised. He's not hurting anybody." Charles Key, another use-of-force expert and former Baltimore police lieutenant, questioned the troopers' decision to leave Greene unattended, handcuffed and prone for several minutes, calling the practice "just dead wrong." "You don't leave somebody lying on the ground, particularly after you've had this fight," Key said. "The training has been for a number of years that, as soon as you get someone under control, you put them on their side to facilitate their breathing ... and particularly this guy, because he was very heavy."

"Greene's family has filed a federal wrongful-death lawsuit alleging troopers "brutalized" Greene, and "left him beaten, bloodied and in cardiac arrest" before covering up the cause of death. His family has released graphic photographs of Greene's body on a gurney, showing deep bruises and cuts on his face and head."

Here's what happened:

"Greene, a barber, failed to pull over for an unspecified traffic violation shortly after midnight on May 10, 2019, about 30 miles south of the Arkansas state line. That's where the video obtained by the AP begins with Trooper Dakota DeMoss chasing Greene's SUV on rural highways at over 115 mph. Seconds before the chase ended, DeMoss warned on his radio: "We got to do something. He's going to kill somebody." As DeMoss and Master Trooper Chris Hollingsworth rush Greene's SUV, he can be seen appearing to raise his hands and saying over and over, "OK, OK. I'm sorry." Hollingsworth shocks Greene with a stun gun within seconds through the driver's side window as both troopers demand he get out of the vehicle. Greene exits through the passenger side as the troopers wrestle him to the ground. One trooper can be heard saying "He's grabbing me" as they try to handcuff him. "Put your hands behind your back, bitch," one trooper says. Hollingsworth strikes Greene multiple times and appears to lie on one of his arms before he is finally handcuffed. At one point, Trooper Kory York yanks Greene's leg shackles and briefly drags the man on his stomach even though he isn't resisting. York was suspended without pay for 50 hours for the dragging and for improperly deactivating his body camera."

Why wasn't the son of a bitch fired?

"York told investigators the device was beeping loudly and his "mind was on other things." Hollingsworth, in a separate recording obtained by the AP, can be heard telling a colleague at the office that "he beat the ever-living f--- out of" Greene. "Choked him and everything else trying to get him under control," Hollingsworth is heard saying. "He was spitting blood everywhere, and all of a sudden he just went limp." Hollingsworth later died in a single-vehicle highway crash that happened hours after he learned he would be fired for his role in the Greene case. DeMoss, meanwhile, was arrested in connection with a separate police pursuit last year in which he and two other troopers allegedly used excessive force while handcuffing a motorist. Exactly what caused Greene's death remains unclear. Union Parish Coroner Renee Smith told the AP last year his death was ruled accidental and attributed to cardiac arrest. Smith, who was not in office when that determination was made, said her office's file on Greene attributed his death to a car crash and made no mention of a struggle with State Police. The AP last year also obtained a medical report showing an emergency room doctor noted Greene arrived dead at the hospital, bruised and bloodied with two stun-gun prongs in his back. That led the doctor to question troopers' initial account that Greene had "died on impact" after crashing into a tree. "Does not add up," the doctor wrote."

No.  It doesn't.  Nowhere near.

No justice.

Too busy lining County coffers with bogus tickets?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Why is it this government never seems to get it right?  The Washington Post reports:

"President Biden on Thursday urged anxious Americans not to panic and rush to stockpile gasoline, seeking to reassure the country that a severe fuel shortage that has gripped the Southeast will likely be resolved in coming days. “Gasoline supply is coming back online and panic buying will only slow the process,” Biden warned. Although fuel from a once-stalled pipeline is “beginning to flow” again, Biden said, many areas “will not feel the effects at the pump immediately.” The restart is “not like flicking on a light switch,” Biden said, adding that he expects a “region-by-region return to normalcy beginning this weekend and continuing into next week.”

What are you doing about the gouging?  Despite the fact demand is down price of gasoline is soaring here in Texas.  Why isn't Big Oil properly regulated to prevent such gouging?

"Biden’s remarks came amid a fierce political showdown over his handling of the situation. The administration has struggled this week to contain the shortage, prompting Republicans to open a new line of attack against him on an issue that has long been fraught with political peril for the party that controls the White House. In Congress, Republicans have seized on Biden’s moves to transition away from fossil fuels, suggesting it imperils the country’s energy security. On Fox News, conservative hosts have blamed the president for rising prices at the pump and long lines of cars snaking around gas stations, with one dubbing it “Biden’s gas crisis.” And in midterm battleground states where gas is running low, Republican leaders have panned Biden’s response."

The problem is not Biden on this particular issue.  It is the bottomless greed of oil companies.  Why aren't they properly regulated to prevent gouging?  This remains an egregious failure of bought and paid for government dating back to 1973.

"White House officials — sensitive to how quickly concerns about gas can become full-blown political crises — have aggressively sought to showcase their efforts to ease the shortage, which was triggered by a cyberattack that forced a major pipeline to suspend service. They’ve enlisted Cabinet secretaries to explain the response in front of TV cameras and brief local officials; they’ve issued a flurry of written updates throughout the week; and they’ve touted their decisions to relax restrictions to boost gas delivery by ground transportation."

Why isn't the focus on the failure of this particular oil company and others to ensure they're not vulnerable to such cyberattacks?

"On Wednesday evening, Colonial Pipeline announced plans to restart operations after discussions with the Biden administration. But the company said it could take several days to resolve the problems that have plagued some states with higher fuel prices and gas stations that have run dry, keeping pressure on Biden in the interim."

While Biden has his faults, it is Colonial Pipeline that is responsible for this crisis since it did not adequately protect itself against such attacks.

"The public relations battle underlines the strong belief in both major parties about how potent a political issue gas can become. From the BP oil spill during the Obama administration to the oil crisis that derailed the Carter administration, presidents have for decades confronted, with mixed results, catastrophes over a resource that is part of daily life for most Americans. The issue is especially resonant right now, Republicans said, with people eager to hit the road after more than a year of pandemic lockdown. “Just when Americans are starting to come awake again, they cannot find the gasoline to drive from where they are to where they want to go,” said former congressman Tom Davis of Virginia, a longtime Republican strategist. “I think people recognize Biden didn’t create this problem,” Davis added, “but Trump didn’t create covid-19 either, did he?”

That's right.  He didn't.  What he did was squat shit to combat the pandemic.  Denied the threat the virus presented.  Downplayed the severity despite all the deaths and misery.

"His point — that a president's political fate often rests on how he responds to emergencies that arise on his watch — has been a guiding principle for Republicans during the Biden presidency. They have been searching for ways to tag Biden as an agent of chaos — pointing to upticks in violent crime and a surge of migrants to the southern border to bolster their claims. The gas shortage marks their latest attempt."

The hypocrisy is stunning.  Republicans did nothing during the reign of their fuhrer, the Trump nazi, to end the damage done to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties during his disastrous four years in the White House.  ... Not to neglect to mention the failed economy due to Trump's failure to recognize the pandemic as the threat it truly is.

"But they have struggled to effectively rebut Biden’s efforts to cast his presidency as a calming influence over a nation that spent four years lurching from one crisis to the next under the Trump administration. Biden has received high marks from the public for his pandemic relief efforts and White House officials said they are taking a similar approach to the gas shortage — lean on experts, explain publicly what they are doing and urge people not to panic. “Our responsibility is to help mitigate this crisis, to work with the company to help bring the pipeline back online and to communicate directly with folks around the country about what we are doing so that they understand and have confidence that this will end and resolve itself shortly,” White House deputy communications director Kate Berner said in an interview. Berner has spearheaded the White House communications strategy on the issue."

Republicans need to smarten up.  The problem is not Biden.  At least, not on this issue.  It's Big Oil.  Failure of the business community to provide security for all its operations, including those online.

"Colonial Pipeline, which provides the East Coast with 45 percent of its fuel, was forced to halt operations after a cyberattack that pushed it offline last week. Biden has been briefed every day starting with a Saturday morning session at Camp David, according to a White House official, and his team has taken steps to try to alleviate the problems. Yohannes Abraham, the National Security Council chief of staff, and Steve Ricchetti, counselor to the president, briefed Biden at Camp David, said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private discussions. The White House assembled an interagency team to deal with the issue last Friday that has conducted regular calls and Zoom meetings on the topic, the official said."

The bullshit never ends.  Partisan interests trump best interests of the public.  -- A problem for both parties, particularly the GOP.

NBC News reports:

"Colonial Pipeline paid the hackers who shut down some of its networks nearly $5 million in ransom, a U.S. official familiar with the matter said Thursday. News of the payment was first reported by Bloomberg. The U.S. official did not say how or when the company paid."

Why aren't corporations regulated by the U.S. government to be properly prepared to withstand such attacks?  Company data and online operations were not properly protected.  That's an egregious company failure.  The public is paying the price.

"Colonial, which operates the country’s largest fuel pipeline, announced it had been hacked Friday, and shut down all four of its major pipelines that serve the Eastern and Southeastern United States as a precaution. Gas prices rose, and some stations ran out of fuel. The Department of Transportation issued an emergency order allowing truckers driving fuel in affected states to work longer hours than federal regulations normally allow. A third-party consulting company that now handles Colonial’s press inquiries declined to comment on the payment. The company announced Wednesday that it was resuming operations."

No proper regulation of these corporations:

"The FBI has historically discouraged, but not prohibited, American ransomware victims from paying hackers, as a payment isn’t guaranteed to work and can encourage criminals to continue attacking others. In a press conference Monday, Anne Neuberger, the White House’s deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technologies, acknowledged that some organizations might find paying the criminals off can be in their best interest. “We recognize, though, that companies are often in a difficult position if their data is encrypted and they do not have backups and cannot recover the data,” she said."

Crock of shit.  No excuse.  Egregious corporate failure not to properly back up all data.  Not to be properly prepared to withstand such attacks.  Corporate greed reigns supreme.  Forget?

"The hackers, known as DarkSide, are one of a number of ransomware groups that hold organizations’ files hostage and demand a payment, either by locking their files and making them unusable or threatening to release them to the public. DarkSide, like many ransomware gangs, are believed to operate in Russia, and their ransomware program is designed to shut down if they infect computers that work in the Russian language. President Joe Biden said Monday that U.S. intelligence believes DarkSide to be operating within Russia’s borders, and that while it didn’t appear to be directed by the Russian government, he is “going to have a conversation” with Russian President Vladimir Putin about such groups. “They have some responsibility to deal with this,” he said. DarkSide in particular is notorious for providing victims who pay with a decryption program that works painfully slowly, said Brett Callow, an analyst at the cybersecurity firm Emsisoft. Colonial retained the cybersecurity company Mandiant to deal with the attack. Mandiant doesn’t directly pay ransomware gangs on clients’ behalf, a spokesperson for the company said, but acknowledges victims can choose to do so."

Certainly, a big part of the problem.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Cheney stood tall.  NBC News reports:

"After Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., was ousted from House GOP leadership, she expressed dismay about how fellow Republicans who criticized former President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol now embrace his “big lie” about the 2020 presidential election. “It's a scary thing,” Cheney said in an exclusive interview with NBC’s “TODAY” co-host Savannah Guthrie when asked how Republicans who chose not to remove her from leadership in February supported doing so on Wednesday. “For reasons that I don't understand, leaders in my party have decided to embrace the former president who launched that attack,” Cheney said in the interview, which aired Thursday. “And I think you've watched over the course of the last several months, the former president get more aggressive, more vocal, pushing the lie.” Trump misled and betrayed millions of people in claiming the 2020 presidential election was stolen, said Cheney, who added that the decision by Republican leaders to promote that lie is “really dangerous.” That includes House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who she said has not provided "courageous leadership."

Outrageous hypocrisy on the part of the McCarthy nazi.

"Cheney was unfazed, however, by her GOP colleagues’ decision to remove her as chair of the House Republican Conference and vowed to help restore the party. She said that she has an obligation to speak out against the lie, because, she said, “it’s an ongoing threat” and “silence is not an option.” Asked three times if she would consider running for president in 2024, Cheney dodged the question but did not rule out a White House bid. “Right now I am very focused on making sure that our party becomes again a party that stands for truth and stands for fundamental principles that are conservative,” said Cheney, who said that Trump “must not ever again be anywhere close to the Oval Office.” Cheney said Trump is clearly responsible for the Jan. 6 riot and said that the Department of Justice should include the former president in its investigation of what unfolded. ”I think the American people have to know” what happened that day, Cheney said, “And certainly any president who did what we know this former president did has got to be investigated criminally.”

No question.  The traitor incited insurrection.

"Chency, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, said this moment is the beginning of the fight to define the Republican Party. “This is the, I think, opening salvo in that battle,” she said. “And it's a battle we have to win because it's not just about the Republican Party, it's about the country.”

That's right.  Not only that, if the GOP fails to wake up and dump its fuhrer, the Trump nazi, it will eventually lead to the end of the Republican Party.  ... At least, as we knew it.

"Guthrie noted that Trump’s political team is actively searching for a Republican candidate to challenge Cheney in a primary next year. Asked to respond to that threat, Cheney said, “You know — bring it on.”

Uncommon Valor.

Insult to injury.  The Associated Press reports:

"Republicans vaulted Rep. Elise Stefanik into the ranks of House leadership Friday, electing an ardent Donald Trump defender in hopes of calming their searing civil war over the deposed Rep. Liz Cheney’s unremitting combat with the former president."

Delusional.  LOL.  Direct opposite likely to occur.  If the GOP doesn't smarten up and dump its fuhrer, the Trump nazi, it will likely not survive.  The Party will be torn apart.

"Stefanik, R-N.Y., a moderate turned Trump loyalist who’s given voice to many of his false claims about election fraud, was elected as expected to the No. 3 post that Cheney, R-Wyo., held for over two years. Backed by Trump and the House’s top two Republicans, Stefanik defeated challenger Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, by 134-46 in a secret ballot vote conducted behind closed doors. A member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, Roy was a prohibitive long shot whose candidacy seemed a signal to GOP leaders that hard-right Republicans expect a robust voice moving forward. Stefanik, 36, gives Republicans a chance to try changing the subject from the acrimonious fight over the defiant Cheney by installing a Trump loyalist — and one of the party’s relative handful of women in Congress — in a visible role."

Cheney does not intend to remain silent.  This matter is nowhere near resolved:

"But GOP schisms are unlikely to vanish quickly. Many hard-right conservatives have misgivings about Stefanik’s centrist voting record, tensions remain raw over Trump’s taut hold on the party and Cheney’s rancorous ouster, and Cheney has said she will remain a vocal foe of Trump. At a time when Cheney and other anti-Trump Republicans are trying to pull the party away from him, Stefanik reaffirmed her view of his importance, underscoring his continued sway within the party."

Raw nazism:

“Voters determine the leader of the Republican Party, and President Trump is the leader that they look to,” she told reporters after the vote. She added, “He is an important voice in the Republican Party and we look forward to working with him.”

A nazi.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The Israeli aggressor remains egregiously out of control.  The Associated Press reports:

"Hamas sent a heavy barrage of rockets deep into Israel on Thursday as Israel pounded Gaza with more airstrikes and shells and called up 9,000 more reservists who could be used to stage a ground invasion. The hostilities intensified despite mediation efforts by Egyptian negotiators who held in-person talks with both sides. In another potential escalation, at least three rockets were fired from southern Lebanon toward Israel, an attack that threatened to open a new front in the fighting. The artillery and tank shells that began falling into Gaza in the evening forced scores of families to flee their homes, Palestinian witnesses said. The use of artillery fire in Israel’s four-day-old offensive raised the likelihood of civilian casualties.

"While some rocket attacks have reached the Tel Aviv area, Arab and Jewish mobs have rampaged through the streets, savagely beating people and torching cars. Flights have been canceled or diverted away from the country’s main airport. Weary Palestinians, meanwhile, somberly marked the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on Thursday as militants fired one barrage of rockets after another and Israel carried out waves of bone-rattling airstrikes. Since the rockets began Monday, Israel has toppled three high-rise buildings that it said housed Hamas facilities after warning civilians to evacuate."

Why is the United States continuing to support the Israeli aggressor?

"Gaza’s Health Ministry said the death toll has climbed to 103 Palestinians, including 27 children and 11 women, with 530 people wounded. Islamic Jihad confirmed the deaths of seven militants, while Hamas has acknowledged 13 of its militants killed, including a senior commander. Israel says the number of militants dead is much higher. Seven people have been killed in Israel. Among them were a soldier killed by an anti-tank missile and a 6-year-old child hit in a rocket attack."

The losses are hopelessly lopsided in favor of the Israeli aggressor.  Why do we continue to financially and militarily support this egregious oppressor of the Palestinians?  We remain on the wrong side of history and will greatly, ultimately regret this.

"Many world leaders have condemned the violence and urged restraint, and a visit by Egyptian security officials was a significant development in international efforts to bring about a cease-fire; such efforts have been key to ending past rounds of fighting. The officials met first with Hamas leaders in Gaza before holding talks with the Israelis in Tel Aviv, two Egyptian intelligence officials said. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press. Still, both Israel and Hamas seemed determined to press ahead. Even as word came of the mediators’ presence, Gaza militants fired a volley of some 100 rockets nearly simultaneously, raising air raid sirens around southern and central Israel. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties — but the barrage appeared aimed at demonstrating that Hamas’ arsenal was still full even after three nights of airstrikes and the killing Wednesday of several Hamas leaders involved in the rocket program. “The decision to bomb Tel Aviv, Dimona and Jerusalem is easier for us than drinking water,” a spokesman for Hamas’ military wing declared in a video message. Dimona is the site of Israel’s nuclear reactor."

Apparently, the conflict is widening:

"It was unclear who was responsible for the rockets fired from southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations. The rockets were launched from the Qlayleh area north of Naqoura, near the border with Israel. The Israeli military confirmed that the rockets fell into the Mediterranean. South Lebanon is home to Palestinian militant factions as well as the powerful Shiite Hezbollah group. The evening shelling occurred in northern communities near the Israeli frontier and in eastern Gaza City. Resident Ibrahim Jamal said about 200 people sought shelter in a United Nations school. In another sign fighting could escalate further, Israel’s defense minister approved the mobilization of 9,000 more reservist troops, and Israel’s military spokesman said forces were massing on the border with the Gaza Strip. The Defense Ministry said Thursday that the latest mobilization approved by Defense Minister Benny Gantz was an “exceptional call-up.” The military’s chief spokesman, Brig. Gen. Hidai Zilberman, said forces were “preparing the option of a ground maneuver.” He told Israeli public television station Kan that tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery were being readied “for this option for mobilization at any given moment.” But the level of forces was not believed to be strong enough yet for a possible ground invasion."

Here's the problem:

"The current eruption of violence began a month ago in Jerusalem, where heavy-handed Israeli police tactics during Ramadan and the threatened eviction of dozens of Palestinian families by Jewish settlers ignited protests and clashes with police. A focal point of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police was Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque, built on a hilltop compound that is revered by Jews and Muslims. Israel regards Jerusalem in its entirety as its capital, while the Palestinians want east Jerusalem to be the capital of their future state. The recent fighting has also set off violent clashes between Arabs and Jews in Israel, in scenes unseen in more than two decades. Netanyahu warned that he was prepared to use an “iron fist if necessary” to calm the violence. Ugly confrontations erupted again late Wednesday. Jewish and Arab mobs battled in the central city of Lod, the epicenter of the troubles, despite a state of emergency and nighttime curfew. In nearby Bat Yam, Jewish nationalists dragged an Arab motorist from his car and beat him until he was motionless. Israeli police said two people were shot and wounded in Lod and an Israeli Jew was stabbed. An Arab citizen was stabbed and seriously wounded in Jerusalem’s central Mahane Yehuda market. In the occupied West Bank, the Israeli military said it intervened in a Palestinian shooting attack that wounded two people. The Palestinian Health Ministry said the suspected gunman was killed."

Since 1948, sadly, the Israeli aggressor has behaved more and more like its German Nazi oppressor during the Holocaust.  Time for change.  Before too late.

Too little.  Much too late.  The Associated Press reports:

"The Biden administration notified Congress this week that it will send millions of dollars in U.S. assistance to the Palestinians aimed at promoting peace with Israel even as violence between the two sides rages."

What they desperately need is military aid to adequately defend themselves.

"As the conflict intensifies despite U.S. calls for restraint, the administration notified Congress on Thursday that it will provide $10 million to Palestinian groups in the West Bank and Gaza to support exchange and reconciliation projects with Israelis. The recipients of the aid were not named. The State Department said Friday that the money is part of more than $100 million that the administration allocated to the Palestinians earlier this year, reversing a near total cutoff in support under former President Donald Trump. In a notice to lawmakers obtained by The Associated Press, the U.S. Agency for International Development said the $10 million would go to support “people-to-people efforts to bring together conflict-affected groups to address divisions that may be rooted in group differences such as ethnicity, religion, status, class, or political affiliation in areas affected by conflict and civil war.” It said the money would be spent mainly on cross-border projects between Israel and the West Bank and Gaza, but might also include programs for Jews and Arabs living in Israel.

"The Biden administration has made no secret of its belief that Trump’s approach to the Mideast, which alienated the Palestinians, was flawed and made prospects for peace less likely. The administration has announced $130 million in assistance to the Palestinians, which appears aimed at encouraging them to return to negotiations with Israel."

What is there to negotiate with the Israeli aggressor, Mr. President?  The aggressor continues to seize Palestinian land and massacre Palestinians since 1948.  We're on the wrong side of history, Mr. President.

Biden still doesn't 'get it.'  NBC News reports:

"Biden followed pro-Israel U.S. precedent. But new critics shake the status quo. "No mention of Sheikh Jarrah. No mention of the Al-Aqsa raid," Rep. Ilhan Omar said after President Joe Biden spoke to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Samira Dejani, a Palestinian teacher, held back tears as she stood in the courtyard of her home in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, recalling years spent living here with her parents, children and grandchildren. Her family is among several that face eviction from the neighborhood after a decadeslong legal battle with Jewish settler organizations that say they have valid title to the land dating to before Israel was a state. The conflict has helped spark one of the most consequential escalations in fighting between Israelis and Palestinians since 2014."

Readers are reminded Israel lost that territory and claims to that territory generations ago due to its excesses.

"With nowhere else to turn, Dejani, 60, is appealing directly to America's president for help. "Oh, Joe Biden, think, think, think about humanity, please!" she said this week. "Please put yourself in our shoes — if you are a human being, think that we are also human beings."

Most Republicans and Democrats couldn't care less.  Have bought the bullshit.  ... While Palestinians are massacred by the Israeli aggressor.  We're on the wrong side of history.  Have been since 1948.  The world community has lost respect for the United States as a result of our one-sided support of the Israeli aggressor.

"Her appeals are being taken up by parts of the international community and even left-wing members of Biden's party, who are demanding that he speak up in behalf of Palestinians. But the rising violence challenges Biden, who has spent the past three months burnishing his progressive bona fides, to pick a side in a conflict that has brought his predecessors little but disappointment."

His predecessors were no worse than Biden is currently.  Had they spoken up, condemned atrocities committed by Israel, offered military support so the Palestinians could adequately defend themselves, had they done all the above, guess what?  This issue would have been resolved generations ago.  Sadly, politics trumps principle.  Has for generations.  One of the reasons why we never seem to learn, never smarten up.

The following continues to be an issue since no American president has been willing to rein in the Israeli aggressor since 1948.  Insisted on doing shit squat as Palestinians were repeatedly massacred by the Israelis:

"Like his predecessors, Biden is having to adapt his policies in real time as events on the ground quickly outpace the best-laid plans. Late Wednesday, Arab and Jewish mobs beat people and torched cars in a wave of communal unrest. As the conflict intensified and the death toll grew to at least 90, political leaders in Israel urged an end to the "anarchy" on the streets of mixed-ethnicity towns across the country."

How can that happen as the Israeli government continues to massacre Palestinians, steals their land, occupies their territory, treats them like chattel?

"At least 115 Palestinians, including 27 children, and eight Israelis have been killed, officials on both sides said, as the Israeli military bombards the impoverished Gaza Strip and the militant group Hamas continues its rocket attacks on Israel. On Friday, Israeli ground forces joined in shelling Gaza, representing a major escalation of the conflict. Now, substantial pressure on Biden to act is coming not only from human rights organizations and pro-Israel Republicans, but also from the left wing of the Democratic Party."

Clearly, the public is finally beginning to wake up.

"In a call Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Biden "condemned the rocket attacks by Hamas and other terrorist groups, including against Jerusalem and Tel Aviv," the White House said in a readout of the conversation. Biden also "conveyed his unwavering support for Israel's security and Israel's legitimate right to defend itself and its people, while protecting civilians," it said."

Biden's rhetoric rings hollow, empty, meaningless, hopelessly gutless:

"The administration's response did not sit well with a handful of progressive Democrats who have tried to elevate support for the Palestinian cause from the fringes to the mainstream. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who in the past has said "we have a negotiating partner in the White House," was scathing about the Biden-Netanyahu conversation."

For damned good reason:

"No mention of Sheikh Jarrah. No mention of the Al-Aqsa raid," she wrote in a tweet referring to ongoing evictions of Palestinians in east Jerusalem and Israel's storming last week of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Omar's comments reflect the anger caused by the expansion of Jewish settlements in Sheikh Jarrah, which is on land that helps form the final link in a settlement circle surrounding east Jerusalem — an area that Palestinians hope will be the capital of a future state.

    No mention of Sheikh Jarra.
No mention of the al-Aqsa raid.
No mention of the 13 innocent children killed in air strikes.
No mention of the ongoing occupation of millions in an open air prison.

You aren’t prioritizing human rights. You’re siding with an oppressive occupation. pic.twitter.com/B0DG1IHbaD
    — Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) May 12, 2021"

Sadly, she's right.  Time for Biden to display some courage, some semblance of leadership.

"No mention of the ongoing occupation of millions in an open air prison," she added, referring to the tiny, blockaded Gaza Strip, home to 2 million Palestinians, from which Hamas has launched more than 1,500 rockets at Israel.

"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., another outspoken member of the left, has also criticized Biden's stance.

"Blanket statements like these w/ little context or acknowledgement of what precipitated this cycle of violence - namely, the expulsions of Palestinians and attacks on Al Aqsa - dehumanize Palestinians & imply the US will look the other way at human rights violations. It’s wrong. https://t.co/afCgoGdiMG
    — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) May 12, 2021

"And Tuesday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., the first Palestinian American woman in Congress, told NBC News' Ayman Mohyeldin that Israel was "promoting racism and dehumanization" under an "apartheid system."

All the above remain valid criticisms of a United States government that places politics ahead of principle.

"Israel rejects accusations that it enforces a form of apartheid, which under international law is considered a crime against humanity."

The Israeli aggressor remains hopelessly delusional.  Has remarkably embraced some of the horrendous tactics used against it by its German Nazi oppressor during the Second World War.

Apparently, we're beginning to finally wake up:

"Americans still favor Israel by wide margins, but recent polls show that they are warming to the Palestinians. A Gallup poll published in March found that 30 percent of Americans held a favorable opinion of Palestinians, up from 21 percent in 2018. Among Democrats, 53 percent want the U.S. to pressure Israel more — the first time a majority has taken that position."

Clearly, we still have a long, long way to go.

"Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser in the Obama administration who focused on the Middle East, has said it was unlikely that Biden would break with previous American administrations in his approach to Israel. "You have yet to see the Biden team invest in a different approach to promote Palestinian statehood," he said, referring to moribund talks to establish an independent country alongside Israel. "It feels like that's an issue that they see as a political loser or perhaps as an impossible job at this point." And after four years of President Donald Trump's extravagant support for Israel's right-wing prime minister, Biden has inherited a conflict that is even more lopsided than it was under President Barack Obama."

That's right.  Worse?

"Biden has already rolled back many of Trump's restrictions on hundreds of millions of dollars in U.S. aid to the Palestinians. But he has said he will not reverse Trump's boldest diplomatic moves, such as his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. And as Iran eclipsed Israel as the primary threat to Arab leaders, the Trump administration helped negotiate formal diplomatic relations between Israel and four Arab states."

What the above clearly means?  There will be no end to the violenceNone.

"Trump was also the first president to legitimize Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land, ending decades of U.S. policy that had said they were illegal. But on the question of such settlements, like Dejani's home in Sheikh Jarrah, Biden is in a once-bitten, twice-shy situation."

Only because Biden won't do the right thing.  That is, cut off all military and financial aid to the Israeli aggressor.

"Eleven years ago, when he was on a vice presidential trip to Israel to promote peace, Israeli authorities approved a large expansion of a settlement in east Jerusalem called Ramat Shlomo. The timing of the announcement was widely seen as a slap in the face to the Obama administration."

Yet, Obama cowardly refused to do what was needed, that is, cut off the Israeli aggressor.

"It was incredibly frustrating, because we were trying to get meaningful peace talks going between Israelis and Palestinians," Rhodes said. "Announcements of settlement expansions were always the most provocative thing on the Israeli side." Ramat Shlomo was first developed in the 1990s, mostly by American Jews of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. About 20,000 ultra-Orthodox Jews live in tightly packed villas on neat streets that wind up at a northeastern Jerusalem hillside — land Israel annexed after its 1967 war with Jordan. Unlike Jews, Palestinians who held titles for what was Ramat Shlomo's undeveloped land before the 1967 war said they have been unable to claim them back. Dejani's situation in Sheikh Jarrah dates back even further, to 1948, when Jordan gave the land to Palestinian refugees who had fled their homes in what was then the new state of Israel. But after Jordan lost the territory in the 1967 Six-Day War, settler groups launched legal campaigns to claim the area, arguing that it was Jewish property."

If this current war continues, think Arabs won't reconsider the following?

"Even if he wanted to, Biden would not be able to reverse the Abraham Accords, which were brokered by Trump and sealed diplomatic ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, eventually leading to deals between Israel and Sudan, Morocco and Bahrain. Most of those states, along with Israel's other Arab diplomatic partners, have released statements appealing to Israel to end provocations against Palestinians. But their outrage has been largely restrained — many Arab Gulf leaders are far more worried about the long, destabilizing reach of homegrown Islamist militants and Iranian nuclear and regional ambitions than they are about Israel."

Think so?  Think again.

"Indeed, the strongest pressure on Biden still comes from within his own party.  "I think what happens in the last 72 hours might cause some rethink in Washington," said Yossi Mekelberg, an associate fellow with the Middle East and North Africa Program at London's Chatham House think tank. Conditions are ripe for a so-called third intifada, or Palestinian uprising, he said, and U.S. officials may decide that "this place is too crazy to leave it on its own — we need to do something.'"

The Washington Post reports:

"The Israeli military attack Saturday on a Gaza Strip high-rise housing the offices of media outlets including the Associated Press and Al Jazeera prompted international outrage and condemnation from media freedom advocates."

For damned good reason.

"The airstrike obliterated a 12-story building that had also contained numerous residential apartments. Journalists and other tenants had evacuated after receiving a warning an hour before the missiles struck, and no casualties have been reported. The Committee to Protect Journalists demanded a “detailed and documented justification” for the airstrike, noting that it could represent a violation of international law."

Clearly, the Israeli aggressor couldn't care less.

“This latest attack on a building long known by Israel to house international media raises the specter that the Israel Defense Forces is deliberately targeting media facilities in order to disrupt coverage of the human suffering in Gaza,” Joel Simon, the organization’s executive director, said in a statement. Israel’s military claimed that the building was targeted because it housed “Hamas military intelligence assets,” who had been using the presence of civilian journalists as “human shields.” No evidence was provided for those claims."

The Israeli aggressor couldn't be lying, could it?

“We have communicated directly to the Israelis that ensuring the safety and security of journalists and independent media is a paramount responsibility,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki wrote on Twitter. Al Jazeera journalists continued to broadcast live as their offices were evacuated. Footage from the network showed the building’s owner begging for the airstrikes to be delayed 10 minutes so that reporters could dash inside and grab expensive camera equipment. “You have destroyed our life’s work, memories, life,” the building owner, Jawwad Mahdi, said when the request was rejected, according to the Associated Press. Mohammed Ali, a bureau assistant with Al Jazeera, said that he and other staff fled the building when the warning came from the Israelis an hour before the strike. But they went back in to try to retrieve something that was irreplaceable: the bureau’s archives. “There are thousands of hours of videos and photos,” he said. “We were able to get some of it out, not even half of it. We tried our best, but in the end we were afraid for our lives,” he said. If there was a Hamas office in the building, journalists weren’t aware of it, he said. The building also contained doctors’ and legal offices."

Truth means nothing to the Israeli aggressor:

"The attack took place one day after Israel’s military was accused of misleading foreign journalists by announcing it had launched a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip, then retracting that claim an hour later. While a spokesperson blamed internal confusion, Israeli media outlets have suggested that officials were deliberately spreading misinformation that would encourage Hamas militants to position themselves where they would be vulnerable to airstrikes. In the wake of Saturday’s airstrikes, some observers pointed out that the Associated Press was one of the few international news outlets that responded to the announcement with skepticism and did not report that a ground invasion had begun. The Associated Press said that a dozen of the newswire’s journalists and freelancers were inside the building when they received a warning that it would be hit. All managed to evacuate, narrowly averting a catastrophe. “We are shocked and horrified that the Israeli military would target and destroy the building housing AP’s bureau and other news organizations in Gaza. They have long known the location of our bureau and knew journalists were there,” the AP’s president and chief executive, Gary Pruitt, said in a statement. Earlier in the day on Saturday, the Associated Press had published a personal account from Gaza correspondent Fares Akram, who lost his father to an Israeli airstrike during a previous conflict and had his family farm torn apart by bombs on Friday. “The Associated Press office is the only place in Gaza City I feel somewhat safe,” Akram had written just hours before he was evacuated along with his colleagues. “The Israeli military has the coordinates of the high-rise, so it’s less likely a bomb will bring it crashing down.” Al Jazeera characterized the attack as a deliberate attempt to “silence the truth by killing the messenger.” “The aim of this heinous crime is to silence the media and to hide the untold carnage and suffering of the people of Gaza,” Mostefa Souag, the network’s acting director general, said in a statement. Earlier this week, Israeli airstrikes also destroyed two office buildings in Gaza City that housed more than a dozen media outlets, including Palestinian newspaper Felestin and pro-Hamas broadcaster Sabq24 News Agency, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. The attack also destroyed the office of the Forum of Palestinian Journalists, a press freedom group."

The Israeli aggressor continues to delusionally defend the indefensible:

"Israel defended those airstrikes by claiming that Hamas maintained offices in the buildings, and saying that the journalists had been given a warning to evacuate. “It is quite clear that this isn’t an accident, this is systematic targeting of media in Gaza in order to prevent reporting from there,” Jeremy Dear, deputy general secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, told Al Jazeera on Saturday."

The Associated Press reports:

"A rocket launched from Gaza killed two Thai workers in southern Israel on Tuesday, police said, hours after Israeli airstrikes toppled a six-story building in the Palestinian territory that housed bookstores and educational centers. With the war showing no sign of abating, Palestinians across the region went on a general strike in a rare collective action against Israel’s policies. Violence erupted at protests in the occupied West Bank, including in the city of Ramallah. Hundreds of Palestinians burned tires and hurled stones toward an Israeli military checkpoint. Troops fired tear gas canisters at the crowd and protesters picked up some of them and threw them back. One protester was killed and more than 70 others wounded — including 16 by live fire — in clashes with Israeli troops in Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron and other cities, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The Israeli army said two soldiers were wounded by gunshots to the leg. The general strike was an uncommon show of unity among Palestinian citizens of Israel, who make up 20% of its population, and those in the territories Israel seized in 1967 that the Palestinians have long sought for a future state. It threatened to further widen the conflict after a spasm of communal violence in Israel and protests across the West Bank last week. Muhammad Barakeh, one of the organizers of the strike, said Palestinians are expressing a “collective position” against Israel’s “aggression” in Gaza and Jerusalem, as well as the “brutal repression” by police across Israel. Israel blames the war on Hamas and accuses it of inciting violence across the region."

The Israeli aggressor is lying.  It is the ongoing theft of land and recent abuse of Palestinians by the Israeli aggressor in a mosque that triggered the latest violence.  The Israelis are using American-supplied weapons and fighter jets to massacre Palestinians.

"Since the fighting began last week between Israel and Gaza’s Hamas rulers, the Israeli military has launched hundreds of airstrikes it says are targeting Hamas’ militant infrastructure, while Palestinian militants have fired more than 3,400 rockets from civilian areas in Gaza at civilian targets in Israel."

The Israeli aggressor also bombs civilian targets sometimes giving Palestinians warnings, sometimes not:

"Israel continued its airstrikes into Gaza, leaving behind a massive mound of rebar and concrete slabs in its attack on the six-story building with centers used by the Islamic University and other colleges. Desks, office chairs, books and computer wires could be seen in the debris. Residents sifted through the rubble, searching for their belongings. Israel warned the building’s residents ahead of time, sending them fleeing into the predawn darkness, and there were no reports of casualties. “The whole street started running, then destruction, an earthquake,” said Jamal Herzallah, a resident of the area. “This whole area was shaking.” Since 2012, Hamed al-Ijla had run a training center in the building, teaching first aid, hospital management and other skills to thousands of students. When the war is over, “I will set up a tent across the street and resume work,” he said."

As stated repeatedly above, the truth is the Israelis initiated the latest violence, -- and, no question, it is an ongoing massacre:

"Heavy fighting broke out May 10 when Gaza’s militant Hamas rulers fired long-range rockets toward Jerusalem in support of Palestinian protests against Israel’s heavy-handed policing of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a flashpoint site sacred to Jews and Muslims, and the threatened eviction of dozens of Palestinian families by Jewish settlers. At least 213 Palestinians have been killed in airstrikes since, including 61 children and 36 women, with more than 1,440 people wounded, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, which does not break the numbers down into fighters and civilians. Hamas and Islamic Jihad say at least 20 of their fighters have been killed in the fighting, while Israel says the number is at least 160."

Delusionally believe it is not a massacre?  Wake up.  Get this:

"Twelve people in Israel, including a 5-year-old boy and a soldier, have been killed in the ongoing rocket attacks."

The Israelis are deliberately inflicting an humanitarian crisis in Gaza:

"As the fighting drags on, medical supplies, fuel and water are running low in Gaza, which is home to more than 2 million Palestinians and has been under an Israeli-Egyptian blockade since Hamas seized power from rival Palestinian forces in 2007. Nearly 47,000 Palestinians have fled their homes. Israeli attacks have damaged at least 18 hospitals and clinics and entirely destroyed one health facility, the World Health Organization said in a new report. Nearly half of all essential drugs in the territory have run out. Essential supplies and aid have only trickled in during the fighting, some from Egypt through the Rafah crossing point it controls and some from Israel when it briefly opened the territory’s main commercial crossing Tuesday before the attack forced it shut. The WHO said the bombing of key roads, including those leading to the main Shifa Hospital, has hindered the movement of ambulances and supply vehicles in Gaza, which was already struggling to cope with a coronavirus outbreak."

Time to finally do the right thing and cut off the Israeli aggressor.  We continue to be on the wrong side of history and will wind up paying an horrendous price for this:

"Israel has vowed to press on with its operations, and the United States signaled it would not pressure the two sides for a cease-fire even as President Joe Biden said he supported one. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the bombardments had set the Palestinian militants back many years."

Is that why they continue to fire rockets into Israel, Mr. Prime Minister?  Is that why the war continues to widen, sir?

The ongoing problem is continued U.S. financial and military support of the Israeli aggressor, -- including F-16 fighter jets used to massacre Palestinians:

“I am sure that all our enemies around us see the price we have levied for the aggression against us,” he said, speaking in front of an F-16 fighter jet at an air force base in a video released by his office Tuesday."

Is that why they continue to fight you bastards no matter the personal cost, Mr. Prime Minister?

Biden, as his predecessors, continues to be on the wrong side of history:

"The Biden administration has declined so far to publicly criticize Israel’s part in the fighting or send a top-level envoy to the region and has blocked a proposed U.N. Security Council statement calling for an end to the crisis. Among the buildings that Israeli airstrikes have leveled was the one housing The Associated Press Gaza office and those of other media outlets. Netanyahu alleged that Hamas military intelligence was operating inside the building. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday that Israel had given the U.S. information about the bombing. Blinken, speaking from Iceland, declined to characterize the material received. Israel has not publicly provided any evidence of its claim."

Could it be there is no evidence?  Just empty rhetoric?  Show us proof of your claims, Mr. Prime Minister.

"AP President Gary Pruitt reiterated the organization’s call for an independent investigation into the attack. “As we have said, we have no indication of a Hamas presence in the building, nor were we warned of any such possible presence before the airstrike,” he said in a statement. “We do not know what the Israeli evidence shows, and we want to know.”

The Washington Post reports:

"President Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a phone call Wednesday that he “expected a significant de-escalation today on the path to a cease-fire,” according to the White House, in the most assertive language used publicly by the administration since Israel and Hamas began exchanging rocket fire 10 days ago. In response, Netanyahu said, as he has in past statements, that the operation will not stop until Israel achieves its military objectives. "I especially appreciate the support of US President Joe Biden, for the right to self-defense for the State of Israel,” tweeted Netanyahu. “I am determined to continue this operation until its goal is achieved, to restore peace and security to you, the citizens of Israel.”

Time to cut off all financial and military assistance to the Israeli aggressor, Mr. President.  This bastard is using American-supplied F16 fighter jets and other weapons to massacre Palestinians.  Been a problem since 1948.  Time for change.

A massacre inflicted by the Israeli aggressor:

"The Palestinian death toll in Gaza rose to 227, including at least 64 children, local health officials said Wednesday. In the West Bank, at least 19 Palestinians have been killed since Friday, officials there said. The death toll in Israel stood at 12, including two children, after police said two Thai workers were killed Tuesday by rockets fired from Gaza."

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

Nazi element forces its perverse religious views on all in direct violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, that is, freedom from religion.  CBS News reports:

"Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Wednesday signed into a law a bill outlawing abortion as early as six weeks into pregnancy, joining at least a dozen other states that have enacted measures designed to prohibit the procedure early in a patient's pregnancy. But unlike the other so-called "heartbeat" bills, Texas's has a provision that would allow private citizens to file civil lawsuits against doctors, staff, or even a patient's family or friends who "aid and abet" in such procedures."

Raw nazism.  In a de facto fascist police-state.  Democratic republic in name only.

"Our Creator endowed us with the right to life," Abbott said at Wednesday's bill signing. "And yet millions of children lose their right to life every year because of abortion. In Texas, we work to save those lives."

Who the hell are you and your fellow fascists in the Legislature to force your perverse religious and ideological views on the rest of us, Governor?

"Abortion rights groups say the law is unconstitutional and in violation of Roe v. Wade, which prohibits states from banning abortion before fetal viability, which generally happens around 24 weeks into a pregnancy. In a statement to CBS News, Planned Parenthood president Alexis McGill Johnson said the Texas bill was among the "most extreme in the country." "It is appalling that in defiance of public opinion and public health, state politicians remain committed to controlling our bodies," Johnson said. "The goal is clear: to relentlessly attack our reproductive rights until abortion is a right in name only."

In the upcoming Supreme Court session, the 6-3 Republican nazi majority will get a chance to revoke Roe v. Wade via another case it recently agreed to review.

Here's the problem regarding the new Texas law:

"Unlike other state laws that seek to outlaw abortion, the legislation, Senate Bill 8, doesn't task the state of Texas with enforcing the ban. Instead, according to the bill's text, it creates a "private civil right of action" that allows anyone to bring civil action against medical professional who performs an abortion in violation of the law as well as those who "knowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of an abortion, including paying for or reimbursing the costs of an abortion through insurance or otherwise."

Raw nazism imposed by fascists in the GOP. Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"Critics of the law say that could include clinic staff, counselors or clergy who offered guidance, a friend who drove the patient to their appointment, or even a parent who paid for the procedure. "This bill essentially opens the floodgates to allow anyone who is hostile to abortion to sue doctors and clinics, consuming their resources and forcing them to shut down," said Nancy Northup, the head of the Center for Reproductive Rights, a law firm that challenges anti-abortion regulations globally. "We will pursue all legal options to prevent this law from taking effect." Those found in violation of the law could face penalties starting at $10,000 per instance. An amendment added last week bars someone who impregnated the patient through rape or incest from suing, but did not clarify that family members or friends of that individual would be barred as well. Under the law, patients themselves cannot be sued. "The Texas Heartbeat Act is the strongest Pro-Life bill passed by the Legislature since Roe v. Wade," said Rebecca Parma, the senior legislative associate at Texas Right to Life, an anti-abortion rights group, in an interview with The Associated Press."

... Hear the rumble?  An unwanted, dreaded second American revolution catastrophically looms.  Too deaf to hear?  ... Or, too aggressively stupid.

"The law is slated to take effect this September. Texas's "heartbeat" ban comes amid a particularly active state legislative session for the issue nationwide, experts say. According to an analysis by the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports abortion rights, more than 500 abortion restrictions, including 146 bans, had been introduced by state lawmakers as of April 30. Among those, 61 have been signed into law. "The year 2021 is well on its way to being a defining one in abortion rights history," said Lauren Cross and Elizabeth Nash, the authors of the report. Many of those measures have been blocked by federal courts, but their supporters say that's the point. Buoyed by a conservative majority at the Supreme Court, states have passed dozens of anti-abortion restrictions with the hopes that they will reach the high court and give the justices an opportunity to overturn Roe v. Wade."

If there is no reproductive freedom, there is no freedom at all.

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk?  Get what you truly deserve.  Forfeiture of liberty.  At the hands of outrageously corrupt and abusive government.

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.  This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below.  ... Governor?  Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere.  Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Matt Turner, Matt Turner Video Services, Marble Falls, TX.  A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright.  She has, indeed, been promoted  branch manager. Reverse Darwinism.  Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The process to update those already informed of this fiasco has finally been completed. This latest material can be found by clicking onWells Fargo Deceptive Trade Practices Salvo 240, 2-8-19.

The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade and a half.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards. Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards. Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.
