Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property. Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property? Question to be asked. Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe? Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation. Apparently, there has been none. If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner? To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for. Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot. Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot. Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved. Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back? To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road? Why hasn't she been evicted by the County? Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens? Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery? Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue. For what? Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

Wake up, Sheriff. Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office? Two hundred twentytwo weeks, now. A goddamned disgrace. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history? An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse. How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Two hundred twentytwo weeks. Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger. To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff? Those of your thugs? The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down. You don't understand that, Sheriff? Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one. Including taxpayers. Especially, taxpayers.

While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception. On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe. She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop. She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office. Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it. Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this? Think this hasn't happened to others?

Highly reminiscent of our outrageously bought and paid for judiciary, Llano County prosecutors, Sheriff Bill Blackburn and his criminal SS jackbooted bastards in black who continue to egregiously disgrace themselves and the badge, do as they please regardless of the law and Constitution, carefully consider the following. Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news. Received an award. The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road. To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property. All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764. The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago. The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question. How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk? Get what you truly deserve.

Last three months been getting online at the Kingsland HEB. Met quite a few readers at the picnic table. -- People I didn't personally know, but who came up and introduced themselves. Certainly, grateful for your concern, caring, and moral support. One of the Front End managers, Kevin, had granted permission to plug in and access HEB Customer wifi at the picnic table some three months ago. Someone in County government must have subsequently complained. Three months after the fact. LOL. Finally got the boot 6-27-20 from the achingly gutless Store Manager who couldn't, or wouldn't stand up to pressure from this asshole.

Pathetic, isn't it? LOL. Certainly, knew it was coming. Hard to believe it took three months. LOL. Apparently, the gutless Store Manager, Monty, sent out the second in command, Dan, to deliver the happy news. Spoke to him awhile, but sadly as expected, he had nothing substantive to say. Other than, "leave." LOL. Advised him to send out the clearly reluctant Store Manager who apparently wanted to avoid the encounter. Finally, came out. Imagine that.

Asked the Store Manager, Monty Young, for a business card. Remarkably, he had none. Couldn't be, could it? LOL. An HEB Store Manager with no business card? How is that possible? Unlimited corporate greed? Aryan arrogance of a privately-owned corporation? Or, was he simply lying? Informed him he'd indeed be front and center in this next edition.

Before getting into specific detail vis a vis my conversation with the Store Manager, it must be stated staff at the Kingsland HEB is second to none. Have known many of them for years. Work extremely well together as a team. Certainly, exceptionally customer-friendly. The problem with this store is not staff. Not even the Store Manager and Assistant Manager per se, -- who apparently, despite their denials, had been pressured by someone. It's the HEB corporate management suite at the root of most of the problems at this store.

The following salient issues were discussed with the Store Manager before I left. -- Interestingly, none of which he denied. LOL. Readers, have you noticed cheaper generic products are either continually out of stock or discontinued? Especially, after the store changed its product line weeks before the pandemic. Apparently, in an effort to emulate the Marble Falls store that caters to the Horseshoe Bay elite.

New larger shopping carts were brought in to the Kingsland store so shoppers would supposedly buy more product, increase store sales. Shelves are restocked 24 hrs. Staff was unhappy because aisles are too narrow for the larger carts. Makes it harder to stock shelves when the store is open. Not only that, makes it much more difficult for shoppers to navigate the narrow aisles.

Product pricing has steeply increased. They accomplish this both by directly raising prices, as well as in engaging in deception, that is, downsizing product. One recent glaring example is their generic bleach. For awhile, it was unavailable, out of stock. Then, it was downsized from three quarts to two. Price remained at $1. A 33% increase. Done deceptively. At a time when inflation is supposedly non-existent. What ever happened to the HCF quart and a half ice cream that sold for $1.99? Long since gone. Both aforementioned products had already been downsized once before. LOL. List can go on and on. Unbridled corporate greed.

As I reminded the Store Manager, Kingsland residents, for the most part, are poor, young, elderly, and/or disabled, etc. This store now caters to the rich who live on the lake and Sunrise Beach. Not sustainable. ... Especially, if the shit finally hits the fan vis a vis the Trump nazi, and/or a second shutdown occurs courtesy of the raging, poorly-handled, achingly mismanaged pandemic.

To store employees, all of whom I admire, consider personal friends, courageously provide your ongoing grievances to this publication. I will publish them while protecting your identity. If you won't stand up, nothing changes.

As I informed the Store Manager, the problem in Kingsland is the fact HEB has no substantive competition. What is desperately needed is a Walmart or other major corporation to rattle the cage of local HEB management as well as the corporate management suite. Until that occurs, nothing changes, shit happens. ... Right, Monty? Dan?

In the last two and a half weeks or so, three middle-aged women tripped and fell on the curb by the picnic table. Third time, 6-26-20. Took the Store Manager and Assistant Manager quite some time to exit the store and arrive with ice to quell the swelling of the woman who had fallen hard on her face. I subsequently asked Monty to consider painting the curb iridescent red or orange to avoid injury and a future lawsuit.

Responded couldn't be painted red since it wasn't a fire zone. Could certainly be painted orange or some other bright color. If management doesn't care about a lawsuit, where is its concern for the pain and suffering if a customer trips, falls, and suffers serious injury? ... Couldn't care less, Monty? -- Or, is it, shortsightedly, insurance will indeed take care of it? Wake up. Just a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured and sues the living shit out of HEB. Even if HEB prevails in court, it loses. Consider the cost of bad publicity.

To the credit of management, both the Store Manager and Assistant Manager return carts to the front of the store, sanitize them, and pick up trash. Recently, associates informed me the Store Manager wasn't happy about the performance of the Assistant Store Manager. LOL. Apparently, ole' Dan got too good at hiding in the store, shirking cart and other duties, etc. LOL. That's apparently changed. ... Trouble in paradise, boys? LOL. Itching to retire, Dan? LOL. Give me a break. Never a dull moment, -- at customer and staff expense.

Finally, to the motherf--ker in County government who likely complained, don't flatter yourself. Three months? What took so long you gutless piece of shit? LOL. "Granite Shoals firefighter Dustin Short was injured July 14 while rushing into a burning building to save a person inside. He was off duty at the time. A GoFundMe page was set up to help with his medical expenses and associated costs. An off-duty Granite Shoals Fire Rescue firefighter and EMT was seriously injured July 14 after rushing into a burning building on Granite Street in Kingsland to rescue a person inside. Dustin Short got the person out of the manufactured home but received serious lung injuries due to elevated temperatures in the building. Since he was off duty, Short did not have any firefighting gear on hand but still risked his life to help."

No greater love. Uncommon Valor. Thankfully, he did survive. Hopefully, will quickly, fully recover.

"Short had to be mechanically ventilated while his lungs were being treated. Both Short and the person he rescued were released from the hospital Wednesday, July 15. The Granite Shoals firefighter will continue his recovery at home. In a statement from Granite Shoals Fire Rescue and the Short family, they thanked the community for their support and continued thoughts and prayers. A GoFundMe Page has been set up for donations."

Anyone who's had a dog knows quite well they have incredible abilities that defy easy explanation, -- or any explanation at all. LOL. KMBC Kansas City reports:

"A dog from Olathe that went missing showed up at her old home about 60 miles away in Lawson, Missouri. "She got out of her car and said, 'Where did the dog come from?'" said Colton Michael. The 4-year-old Labrador, named Cleo, feels right at home on the front porch."

"She wouldn't let us quite come near her," Michael said. The only thing is, it's not her front porch anymore and hasn't been for nearly two years. "November 2018, we moved in," Michael said. Michael had Cleo checked for a microchip. "Britney said, 'That's the people that used to live here,'" he said. As it turns out, Cleo's owners had posted on Facebook a week earlier about the missing dog. They couldn't believe it when Michael called and said Cleo had walked home. "It's the most bizarre story. Really, she's everything to us and to my mother," said Drew, Cleo's owner. It is 57 miles door-to-door from Olathe to Lawson, and neither family knows exactly how Cleo made the trip."

"That's a hike for anybody," Michael said. Michael said they were not surprised that Cleo was scared. "She finds her way home, and there's some strangers living in it. That would be scary for anybody," Michael said."

"It just feels really good to be reunited with her," said Drew. "Now that we know who she belongs to, if she pops up again, we know who to call," Michael said."

"Both said they may never know anything about her journey. The dog would have had to cross the river at some point to get back home. "It's a mystery, something we will probably never know," Michael said."

"Chicago's former police superintendent "consumed several large servings of rum" before getting behind the wheel and then lied about the incident, a city watchdog revealed on Thursday. Eddie Johnson was fired by Mayor Lori Lightfoot this past Dec. 2 just weeks before he was set to retire, capping a turbulent three-year tenure as head of a department marked by controversial police shootings, court-supervised reforms and its handling of high-profile arrests. Johnson's downfall came following an Oct. 16 dinner he had with a fellow officer who served as his driver and worked on the superintendent's security detail, according to a report by the city's Office of Inspector General. The two "each consumed several large servings of rum" and private surveillance video showed Johnson driving the pair away, the oversight report said. After dropping off his subordinate at Chicago Police Department headquarters at about 10:30 p.m., Johnson drove about two miles before parking near 34th Place and Aberdeen Street. "The superintendent remained there, parked illegally with his vehicle running, until a member of the public called 911 and reported seeing a man asleep in his vehicle," according to the report. An officer showed up at 12:33 a.m., now Oct. 17, and allegedly asked Johnson: "Sir, you alright?" The officer's body camera recorded Johnson pulling out what appeared to be his Chicago PD identification, according to the report. "Wanna go, umm, you just sitting here, or do you wanna go home?" the responding officer reportedly said. No field sobriety test was administered, the report found."

Had it been a civilian, his sorry ass would have been quickly hauled to jail. Special treatment. No equal justice.

"A supervising police officer was eventually called to the scene before Johnson was allowed to leave at about 12:46 a.m., followed by two CPD vehicles. He blew through one stop sign and turned into a wrong lane before eventually getting home in one piece, the report found. "In addition to driving while impaired, the superintendent made two false statements to the public during a press conference on" Oct. 17 — that he had been out with a friend, not another Chicago PD officer, and that he had ordered an internal investigation, which he did not, according to the Office of Inspector General."

"Johnson's lawyer did not immediately respond to phone and email messages left by NBC News on Thursday, seeking comment on behalf of his client. The department is still conducting an internal probe of all officers who were involved in the Oct. 16-17 incident with Johnson, a Chicago police spokeswoman said Thursday. "The Chicago Police Department is currently reviewing the Office of Inspector General's investigation report into personnel that responded to the October 2019 incident involving Mr. Eddie Johnson," CPD spokeswoman Kellie Bartoli said in a statement. "The department will take any necessary disciplinary measures upon their complete review of that report."

"Technically, Johnson was demoted to lieutenant on Dec. 2 before he resigned on Dec. 4 and was placed on the city's "ineligible for rehire list," according to the report."

"The federal administration has chosen Portland to use their scare tactics to stop our residents from protesting police brutality and from supporting the Black Lives Matter movement," Rosenblum said in a statement. "Every American should be repulsed when they see this happening. If this can happen here in Portland, it can happen anywhere."

"Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler said President Donald Trump doesn't have a clue about what's going on in his city, adding that the Trump administration's tactics in the area "are abhorrent." "Well, the president has a complete misunderstanding of cause and effect," Wheeler said in responding to Trump's Sunday morning tweet about Portland. "What's happening here is, we have dozens, if not hundreds of federal troops descending upon our city. And what they're doing is, they are sharply escalating the situation." "Their presence here is actually leading to more violence and more vandalism," he continued. "And it's not helping the situation at all. They're not wanted here. We haven't asked them here. In fact, we want them to leave." The president earlier Sunday tweeted that his administration is "trying to help Portland, not hurt it."

How? By abrogating the First Amendment right to peacefully protest? Trump remains a congenital liar:

"Their leadership has, for months, lost control of the anarchists and agitators," he wrote. "They are missing in action. We must protect Federal property, AND OUR PEOPLE. These were not merely protesters, these are the real deal!"

"The tweet comes as the increased federal presence in Portland has come under intense scrutiny following videos posted online showing agents, who were not clearly identified, hauling away protesters in unmarked vans. "Speaking Sunday, Wheeler said he believes the Trump administration is breaking the law with its usage of a federal policing force in his city. Why isn't local law enforcement arresting, jailing, running the prints of these alleged federal agents to determine their identity and who they work for? The public has the right to know the identity of its oppressors.

"They are not helping us. They are hurting us," he said. "They're escalating an already dangerous situation. And what I want to do is raise awareness nationally. This could happen in your city. And what we're seeing is a blatant abuse of police tactics by the federal government, by a Trump administration that's falling in the polls. And this is a direct threat to our democracy." He said that before federal agents arrived, violence and vandalism tied to the protests had decreased considerably. "Our local and state law enforcement officials had contained the situation," Wheeler said. "The energy was coming out of the demonstrations. We had hoped they would end within a matter of days. And what happened instead is, the federal troops came in. They used their unconstitutional tactics. They injured nonviolent demonstrators, and the whole thing blew up again like a powder keg."

"Wheeler expressed fear that a resident or a local or state law enforcement officer "is going to get killed" because of the Trump administration's efforts. Democratic members of Oregon's congressional delegation said Friday they will demand a federal investigation into the situation, saying that the deployment of federal officers has inflamed tensions and led to violent confrontations and questionable arrests. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, has called for the federal officers to leave Portland. Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum sued the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies Friday over the deployment. The American Civil Liberties Union also filed a lawsuit on Friday to protect journalists from police tactics. On Sunday, the three Democratic chairs of the House Judiciary, Oversight and Homeland Security committees called on the inspectors general from the Justice Department and Homeland Security to open an immediate investigation into the Trump administration's tactics against protesters in Portland, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere."

"A Navy vet asked federal officers in Portland to remember their oaths. Then they broke his hand. He came to the protest with a question. He left with two broken bones in a confrontation with federal officers that went viral."

"Christopher David had watched in horror as videos surfaced of federal officers in camouflage throwing protesters into unmarked vans in Portland. The 53-year-old Portland resident had heard the stories: protesters injured, gassed, sprayed with chemicals that tugged at their nostrils and burned their eyes. David, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and former member of the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, said he wanted to know what the officers involved thought of the oath they had sworn to protect and defend the Constitution. So, he said, on Saturday evening, he headed to downtown Portland to ask them."

"That night’s protests outside the federal courthouse — the 51st day of ongoing demonstrations — began with a line of local moms linking arms and demanding the federal agents stop targeting Portland kids. David, who had never attended a protest before, hung back and watched. He was trying to keep his distance, he said, as a host of health problems have made him especially vulnerable amid a still-raging coronavirus pandemic. He asked one woman when the feds would show up, but she said it was also her first protest since the Department of Homeland Security deployed tactical units from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to bolster protections for federal buildings and officers in the Pacific Northwest city. Just as he was about to leave, David said, the federal officers emerged. They rushed a line of protesters nearby, knocking them to the ground. David walked toward a gap in the line, calling out to the officers."

“Why are you not honoring your oath?” he bellowed. “Why are you not honoring your oath to the Constitution?” An officer trained his weapon on David’s chest as several agents pushed him, sending David stumbling backward. But he regained his center and tried again. Another agent raised his baton and began to beat David, who stood unwavering with his arms at his sides. Then another officer unloaded a canister of chemical irritant spray into David’s face."

David said he is none of those things. “It’s just us normal people out there,” he said. “There were a whole group of pregnant moms standing out there linking arms and they got gassed. You hear people like [President] Trump say it’s just a bunch of wacko fringe people in liberal cities who are out there, but no way. We’re all just normal people who think what’s happening is wrong.”

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a former member of the Navy's Civil Engineer Corps, David told The Washington Post that he hadn't previously been to any protests, but he wanted to know how the federal officers thought about their oath to defend the Constitution. "Why are you not honoring your oath to the Constitution?" he says he yelled at the officers. Video of the incident shows an officer dressed in camouflage hitting David with a baton and another officer spraying him in the face with a chemical irritant. "I stood my ground at that point and just stayed there ... I did nothing provocative. They just started whaling on me with batons, and I let them," David told The Independent. The incident left him with a broken hand.

"The White House on Tuesday sought to provide a legal justification for the administration's decision to deploy federal law enforcement to Portland in response to unrest as President Trump comes under scrutiny over whether he and the officers are acting outside the bounds of the law. When pressed on which provision of the U.S. Constitution gives the president the authority to send federal authorities to American cities against the wishes of their elected leaders, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany cited a provision of federal law, 40 U.S. Code 1315, that says the secretary of Homeland Security "shall protect the buildings, grounds and property that are owned, occupied, or secured by the federal government … and the persons on the property."

That's it. On federal property. Not on the streets of the city, often nowhere near federal property. Certainly, are not authorized to arrest innocent, peaceful protesters exercising their First Amendment right to protest. These jackbooted bastards are kidnapping innocent protesters with no probable cause, failing to identify themselves, denying those they've abducted due process, the rule of law, their constitutional rights.

"Agents from several federal agencies were sent to Portland in an effort to quell protests around the federal courthouse in the city, but local and state officials have now called for the federal officers to leave after they clashed with demonstrators. The ACLU of Oregon has sued in federal court over the agents’ presence in Portland, and the organization’s Chicago branch said it would similarly oppose a federal presence. “This is a democracy, not a dictatorship," Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, said on Twitter. “We cannot have secret police abducting people in unmarked vehicles. I can’t believe I have to say that to the President of the United States."

But smaller groups of up to several hundred people have focused on federal property and local law enforcement buildings, at times setting fires to police precincts, smashing windows and clashing violently with local police. Portland police used tear gas on multiple occasions until a federal court order banned its officers from doing so without declaring a riot. Now, concern is growing that the tear gas is being used against demonstrators by federal officers instead. Anger at the federal presence escalated on July 11, when a protester was hospitalized with critical injuries after a U.S. Marshals Service officer struck him in the head with a less-lethal round. Video shows the man, identified as Donavan LaBella, standing across the street from the officers holding a speaker over his head when he was hit."

"The women, who wore face masks and helmets for safety, chanted, "Feds steer clear, moms are here," as they linked arms to form the barrier, according to ABC News' Kayna Whitworth, who is covering the protests in Portland. "Many of them who were here last night tell me they were tear gassed by federal authorities - but they are back today - and they brought their friends," Whitworth wrote on Instagram. The Wall of Moms is the brainchild of Bev Barnum, a mom of two who organized a Facebook event calling on moms to meet at the protest site on Saturday evening. "We moms are often underestimated. But we’re stronger than we’re given credit for," Barnum, who could not be reached by ABC News, wrote on Facebook. "So what do you say, will you stand with me? Will you help me create a wall of moms?" "Thank you so much for being brave. Thank you for being willing to help the protestors," Barnum wrote on her post, which received more than 500 responses. Barnum reflected on the success of the moms' movement in a later post, writing alongside a photo of the moms at the protest, "When I asked moms to join me in protest on Friday night, while I was in my pj's, getting ready for bed . . . I didn't imagine that this would be my reality by Sunday morning." "In the span of 30hrs, women from all across the world have asked how they too can make this happen in their community," she wrote. "You want to know the truth? You have to ask your friends to stand with you. You have to ask strangers to trust you enough to go into harm's way. And you most especially have to trust that these women are going to show up until there isn't a single protestor left to protect."

"The federal agents deployed in Portland this week were part of a Department of Homeland Security task force established to respond to the growing protests and acts of civil disobedience that came after the death of Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. The state's attorney general has launched a criminal investigation into two "unlawful" tactics allegedly made by federal agents. Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum also announced she filed a federal civil lawsuit on Friday evening against the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to begin the process for a restraining order to stop the agents "from unlawfully detaining Oregonians."

Despite all their faults, the Founders, indeed, would have been proud the last several months. At least some of us are standing up to tyranny. The number will grow as Trump and his henchmen continue to be exposed for whom and what they are.

"A former police officer in New Mexico was charged Thursday with second-degree murder after authorities said he killed a Latino detainee he had placed in a chokehold. State Attorney General Hector Balderas said he filed the charges against former Las Cruces police officer Christopher Smelser in the death of Antonio Valenzuela."

About time. What took so long? Why special treatment for this piece of shit not accorded the civilian population?

"Police say Smelser applied the chokehold after a foot chase in February after Valenzuela fled during a traffic stop. After the chase, Smelser can be heard on police video saying, "I'm going to (expletive) choke you out, bro." Valenzuela was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner determined he died from asphyxial injuries. Smelser, who is white, was initially charged with manslaughter and later fired. In a statement, Balderas said he was taking over the prosecution of Smelser from the Third Judicial District Attorney's office in Las Cruces and "focusing on appropriate charges for violent and dangerous chokeholds." Smelser's attorney, Amy L. Orlando, called the new charge sad and suggested it was a political move meant to grab headlines."

"Officer Smelser used a technique that was sanctioned by the department. He was trained in the technique. And [all] of a sudden it's banned after and he's a criminal," Orlando told The Associated Press."

"All three white men charged in the death of Black jogger Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia pleaded not guilty on Friday. Gregory McMichael, 64, his son Travis McMichael, 34, and William "Roddie" Bryan Jr., 50, pleaded not guilty to the counts against them, which include felony murder. Chatham County Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley denied bond for Bryan, saying he was concerned about Bryan being a potential flight risk."

"Ahmaud Arbery, 25, was shot while jogging in Glynn County, Ga., in February. The incident gained national attention after video of the incident, recorded by Bryan, was posted online in May. After the killing, the three men did not face criminal charges for 10 weeks. That changed on May 7, two days after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the investigation from local authorities. The GBI arrested the McMichaels on charges of murder and aggravated assault. The GBI arrested Bryan on May 21 on charges of felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Bryan has said he was just a witness to the incident. On June 24, Cobb County District Attorney Joyette Holmes announced that a grand jury had also returned an indictment against the three men on counts including malice murder, felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment."

"Arbery was killed on Feb. 23 after the McMichaels followed him in their truck while he was jogging in a residential area near Brunswick, Ga. Gregory McMichael told police that he suspected Arbery was a burglar and he and his son armed themselves and followed him. Bryan joined the McMichaels in pursuit in his own vehicle and recorded a video on his phone. Arbery's family has characterized his death as a modern-day lynching. The video went viral, sparking protests, and contributed to the wider protest movement seen in the wake of George Floyd's killing by police in Minneapolis."

"Protesters trying to topple a Christopher Columbus statue in downtown Chicago’s Grant Park clashed with police who used batons to beat people and made at least a dozen arrests after they say protesters targeted them with fireworks, rocks and other items. The clash Friday evening unfolded after at least 1,000 people tried to swarm the statue in a failed attempt to topple it following a rally in support of Black and Indigenous people. Police said 18 officers were injured and at least 12 people were arrested during the clash. Four protesters were also hurt during the confrontation, which led local elected officials and activists to condemn the officers’ tactics.

Sadly, tragically, the tactics of the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue elicit violence. Apparently, law enforcement remains clueless or is deliberately engaging in these tactics to intentionally spark a revolution. Either way, the end result remains the same.

The following is extremely interesting since prominent local officials and members of the state legislature have condemned the Mayor's use of force:

“We unequivocally condemn Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s decision to send the Chicago police to beat, arrest, and terrorize the demonstrators and journalists gathered in Grant Park tonight,” a group of elected officials said in a statement released late Friday. The statement was signed by several members of the City Council, including Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor and Alderwoman Rossana Rodriguez Sanchez, and two members of the Legislature — state Rep. Delia Ramirez and state Sen. Robert Peters."

The violence inflicted by these out of control jackbooted bastards remains over the top:

"Local news site Block Club Chicago reported that one protester, an 18-year-old woman, had several of her front teeth knocked out when an officer punched her. It also shared a video of that assault and a photo of the woman’s bloodied mouth and missing teeth. It identified her as Miracle Boyd, a member of the anti-gun violence group GoodKids MadCity."

Apparently, the son of a bitch got his cookies off. As usual, self-serving law enforcement did what it could to excuse its jackbooted bastards:

"The police department said in a statement that officers assembled in the park as the protesters converged there and were “providing security and protecting their First Amendment right to peacefully assemble.” It said that as demonstrators approached the statue “some members of the crowd turned on the police and used the protest to attack officers with fireworks, rocks, frozen bottles, and other objects.”

"Amika Tendaji, an organizer for the protest, during which artists tagged the statue with slogans including “Decolonize Chicago” and “Black Lives Matter,” decried the officers’ use of force to protect a statue. “I think the people of Chicago and the world have proven that they are over police brutalizing people,” she said. “They’re over police murder, they’re over police terrorism, so the people are going to keep fighting.”

"An 18-year-old activist in Chicago said an officer knocked her front tooth out at a protest in the city Friday night where protesters trying to topple a Christopher Columbus statue clashed with police. An anti-violence organization she is a part of, posted a video on Twitter that appears to show an officer hitting her. The activist, Miracle Boyd, was at Grant Park where she said an officer knocked out her front tooth as she recorded the arrest of a protester. "The police officer came up to me, and he smacked the phone out of my hand, and it hit me in the mouth," she told NBC Chicago. Boyd did not immediately return a request for an interview Monday. She told BuzzFeed that she had finished delivering a speech to a group of protesters in the park and was leaving to go home when she heard the sound of fireworks being set off. She headed in the direction of the sound and started recording a livestream on Facebook, the outlet reported. "They were beating a white woman with a baton," Boyd told BuzzFeed. "They were macing everyone. I was trying to get footage of the police viciously attacking on people." Boyd, a recent high school graduate, denied being the aggressor and said she has been labeled as such because she was shouting at police, BuzzFeed reported. She said that she has never thrown anything or swung at a police officer. At a news conference Monday, she said that she fights "every day" in her community to end gun violence and that she was “unjustly attacked by a Chicago police officer” who “valued a supremacist statue over” her life, safety and well being. "The police are not serving and protecting," she said. "There is no way I should have left a protest bruised and battered for exercising my freedom of speech and freedom to assemble." Boyd said she is not a menace, a hood rat or a rebel and that she is a dedicated freedom fighter. "No matter what I said, no matter what I did, it did not justify me being brutalized and attacked," she said. "I am calling for the officer who attacked me to be relieved of his duties." The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said in a statement Sunday it had received more than 20 complaints against police "as a result of protests in Grant Park" and had opened preliminary investigations into the most "egregious" ones. It also said it was investigating "widespread video" of an incident of an officer striking a civilian. A spokeswoman for the agency confirmed Monday the video referred to in the statement is the one involving Boyd that was posted to Twitter by the anti-gun violence group GoodKids MadCity."

"The war of words between Chicago’s mayor and President Donald Trump escalated Monday after a weekend where dozens of people were injured by gunfire and 12 were killed, with the mayor rejecting any suggestion that federal troops should be dispatched as they were in Portland, Oregon, and Trump all but promising to send them. “I have great concerns about that in particular, given the track record in the city of Portland,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said, even as Trump was telling reporters that federal officers could help bring order to Chicago. “I have talked to the mayor of Portland (and) we don’t need federal agents without any insignia taking people off the street and holding them, I think, unlawfully,” Lightfoot added."

Wells Fargo doesn't appear to reap significant financial benefits from the filings, mortgage servicing experts said. But banks handling loans in forbearance programs under the CARES Act do get nominal amounts for some work. The Wells Fargo spokeswoman declined to say whether the bank has benefited financially from making unrequested forbearance filings. Implementing forbearance plans without customer approval is reminiscent of other troubling practices at Wells Fargo in recent years."

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues. Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail. Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion. That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago.
