While the business and church communities stood tall during the recent Kingsland flood catastrophe, there was one glaring exception. On 10-17-18, the Antlers Coffee Shop closed due to storm-related failure of the Kingsland water system. Patrons, however, are routinely allowed to get online outside even when the shop is closed.

A long-term coffee shop customer entered the hotel lobby to ask the desk clerk whether wifi was still up and running after the catastrophe. She said it was and told the patron he could get online inside the closed shop. She then asked him to have another regular customer who had just arrived outside to come in and get out of the cold as well.

Antlers co-proprietor Rick apparently quickly got wind of both customers, made quite a jackass of himself emulating the petulant narcissist currently occupying the Oval Office. Aggressive stupidity at a time the Kingsland business community is indeed suffering, can least afford it. Further proof positive of the old adage 'can fix ignorant, can't fix stupid.'

Why would, why should both customers put up with this? Think this hasn't happened to others?

Why hasn't he been prosecuted for official oppression? Where is financial compensation for the damage this jackbooted piece of human excrement is responsible for? Your goons have failed to take action against Theresa Ahrens when she tore down a no trespassing sign and barrier on Berardi's property. Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property. Coup de grace? When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane. Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property? Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked. Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise. Back up Berardi. Question to be asked. Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe? Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation. Apparently, there has been none. If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner? To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for. Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot. Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot. Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved. Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back? To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road? Why hasn't she been evicted by the County? Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens? Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery? Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue. For what? Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

Llano County DA "Sonny Boy" is in the news. Received an award. The DailyTrib reports:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road. To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property. All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764. The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago. The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question. How much were they bribed?

Cowardly fail to financially and/or materially support those fighting for all civil and constitutional rights and liberties at great personal cost and risk? Get what you truly deserve.

Wake up, Sheriff. Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office? Two hundred eighteen weeks, now. A goddamned disgrace. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history? An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse. How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Two hundred eighteen weeks. Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger. To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff? Those of your thugs? The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down. You don't understand that, Sheriff? Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one. Including taxpayers. Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot. The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt. Think not? Wake up. Your credibility has tanked. Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise. Nothing was done. There has to be transparency. There is none. Why would these thieving bastards want any? ... Right, Sheriff? TL? How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity? The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons. Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so. That is, where they came from. Why they left where they were. What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own? Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town. Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded. An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. "Atlanta police officers called out sick or refused to answer calls Thursday to protest the filing of murder charges against an officer who shot a man in the back, while the interim chief said members of the force feel abandoned amid protests demanding massive changes to policing."

"Interim Chief Rodney Bryant told The Associated Press in an interview that the sick calls began Wednesday night and continued Thursday, but said the department has sufficient staff to protect the city. It’s not clear how many officers have called out."

Investigate, then fire the insubordinate bastards. Ferociously pointedly, if you have 'sufficient staff to protect the city,' then why did you hire as many officers as you have? Time for a reduction. Less officers, less jackbooted bastard crime. Less expense for taxpayers.

“Some are angry. Some are fearful. Some are confused on what we do in this space. Some may feel abandoned,” Bryant said of the officers. “But we are there to assure them that we will continue to move forward and get through this.”

"Prosecutors brought felony murder and other charges against Garrett Rolfe, a white officer who shot Rayshard Brooks after the 27-year-old black man grabbed a Taser and ran, firing it at the officer, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said. Howard said that Brooks was not a deadly threat at the time and that the officer kicked the wounded black man and offered no medical treatment for over two minutes as he lay dying. Another officer, Devin Brosnan, who the district attorney said stood on Brooks’ shoulder as he struggled for his life, was charged with aggravated assault and violation of his oath."

"Rolfe and Brosnan turned themselves in Thursday. Jail records show Brosnan was released [on] a $30,000 signature bond, meaning he only has to pay if he fails to show up for court, while Rolfe was being held without bond."

Jesus Christ. How about that? Where's equal treatment? Had it been the other way around, that is, a civilian involved in assaulting and killing an officer, think bail would have been as goddamned convenient?

"Bryant wore a navy blue shirt Thursday, rather than the white shirt typically worn by command staff, to show solidarity with the officers. “This is the uniform that the men and women of the police department wear, and I felt that it was important that they have an understanding that we are one organization, and we will dress as one organization,” he said."

Jesus Christ. Give me a break. -- Afraid commanders will wind up being charged for crimes committed by the criminal jackbooted bastards under their command? LOL. That gutless?

"The decision to prosecute the officers came less than five days after the killing rocked a city — and a nation — still reeling after Floyd’s killing set off nationwide protests that have urged an extensive rethink of policing and an examination of racism in the United States. On Wednesday night, the largest labor group in the Seattle area voted to expel the city’s police union, saying the guild representing officers failed to address racism within its ranks."

Jesus Christ. Why did it take five days to arrest, jail, and charge these pieces of shit? Had it been the other way around, that is, a civilian assaulting and murdering an officer, justice would have been immediate. That is, arrest, jail, charges. Why the goddamned double standard? "Bryant said he was surprised at how quickly Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard reached the decision to charge the officers, noting that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation hadn’t yet had time to finish looking into the shooting."

Atlanta officers are walking off their shifts or not responding to calls because they feel “abandoned, betrayed, used in a political game,” Champion told the AP."

“What they realized is that the city, meaning the mayor and the police department, does not support them,” Champion said."

"Champion said he’s heard from several officers that they fear using force to protect themselves will get them fired or arrested."

The vote Wednesday night by the King County Labor Council to exclude the Seattle Police Officers Guild comes after weeks of protests in the city over police brutality and racism following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. It’s also significant as the labor council is politically influential. Local elected leaders are reluctant to go against the umbrella group of more than 150 unions and 100,000 workers. “Any union that is part of our labor council needs to be actively working to dismantle racism in their institution and society at large,” the labor council said on Twitter after the vote. The police union “has failed to do that work” and is no longer part of the council, the labor alliance said. The Seattle Times reports that the delegate vote was 45,435 to expel, with 36,760 voting to keep the police union within the council. Before the vote, police union President Mike Solan told delegates the police union wanted to stay involved with the council and was “willing to learn.” “We are human beings and we are workers who are committed to this city and committed to the community,” Solan said. “We see a future, one that engages in these robust conversations, and in particular to race and how the institution of racism impacts all labor unions.” Labor council representatives said the police guild could be readmitted at some point in the future. “At this point, I just can’t justify to our members, ones who are staffing the medical tents and getting gassed” by the Seattle Police Department and having the Seattle Police Officers Guild at the table, “using our unity as a shield to justify contracts that go against our principles and mission,” said Jane Hopkins, a registered nurse and executive vice president of SEIU Healthcare 1199NW."

"The Seattle City Council on Monday voted unanimously to bar police from using tear gas, pepper spray and several other crowd-control devices after officers repeatedly used them on mostly peaceful demonstrators."

"The 9-0 vote came amid frustration with the Seattle Police Department, which used tear gas to disperse protesters in the city’s densest neighborhood, Capitol Hill, just days after Mayor Jenny Durkan and Chief Carmen Best promised not to do so."

That's a problem. A big problem. Raises an extremely pointed issue. Who the hell runs the city? The City Council or the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue?

"Police have now largely left a several block area of Capitol Hill, which for more than a week has been the site of active protests by demonstrators who have dubbed the area the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.” Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County said in a statement Thursday that it stands with the labor council in demanding acknowledgment and addressing of institutionalized racism in Seattle policing, and that police accountability be included in contract negotiations. The organization said it has demanded a seat at the negotiating table and that the mayor has responded by putting those police contract negotiations on hold until there is a plan for community representation."

"Derrek Jones rolled out of his tent Friday morning at the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest — or CHOP — to find a yoga class for people of color underway in the park. He joined for some stretching before heading to a thousands-strong Juneteenth march and rally in the historically black Central District. Jones, who is black and lives on predominantly white Whidbey Island, 45 miles north of Seattle, has been in the city since June 5 protesting police violence. “That was the biggest Juneteenth I’ve ever had,” he said. As those celebrations continued after dark and mixed with general Friday-night revelry and end-of-school-year celebrations, a volatile mixture of fireworks, alcohol and firearms triggered violence."

"Early Saturday morning, two men suffered gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old died and the other, age unknown, is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg confirmed to The Washington Post. The incident has sparked a debate about whether the six-block protest, which has occupied the streets around an abandoned Seattle police precinct since June 8, can manage public safety concerns such as an active-shooter situation and how police can respond to the area formerly called the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ."

"Protesters cordoned off the area after police vacated the precinct in Capitol Hill after a week of clashes with demonstrators, who threw objects at officers, protesting in light of the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. In response, police used tear gas and other crowd-control measures. The organizers of the protest have demanded city officials abolish the police department, investigate allegations of police brutality and pay reparations to victims of police violence. The occupants have remained mostly peaceful over the past two weeks."

As previously reported, protesters to date have been fairly good at maintaining law and order using non-confrontational tactics. The shootings are indication total abolishment of law enforcement would be a mistake.

"But the zone has become a boogeyman for conservatives, including President Trump, who believes it is dangerous and has threatened to “take it back” from the protesters."

"Law enforcement has generally steered clear of the area. But on Saturday, responding to the shooting, a phalanx of armed police officers entered the zone."

"The Seattle Police Department said in a statement that officers initially had trouble getting to the scene of the shooting because they “were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe access to the victims.” The police officers’ entry into the zone, filmed by people occupying it, didn’t appear to show violence."

"Police said they are searching for the shooter or shooters and had no description or motive to share as of Saturday morning. Investigators gathered shell casings from the scene Saturday. According to observers, starting at 11 p.m. Friday, cars began parking outside the barricades bordering the zone at 10th and Pine streets, eventually numbering about 20 vehicles. The atmosphere was festive at first, with fireworks set off to celebrate high school and college graduations, and eventually, firearms were discharged into the air, several people recounted. Jones recalls trying to discourage that behavior with at least one reveler who had a concealed weapon and claimed knowledge of gun-safety practices. “I encountered a younger kid who had a gun and wanted to let his friend shoot it off as a celebration,” Jones said. “I was telling him this can’t be that type of environment; we’re trying to protest. Actively using guns in any form or fashion is going to bring wants and desires for the cops to come back.” After 2 a.m., the festivities turned violent. One eyewitness described an argument that escalated into a fight and resulted in 10 gunshots. The suspects fled while volunteer medics, who were stationed on the same corner, rushed to treat the victims. Upward of 20 “sentinels,” who provide volunteer security to the police-free protest zone, also responded to the scene. “Arguments happen in the crowd all the time, even during celebrations. But gunshots change everything,” said a sentinel on site at the time who gave his name only as Cat, who was openly carrying two knives Saturday. “It goes from some people are arguing and some people are celebrating to everybody is running.” Volunteers transported both victims to the nearby University of Washington-affiliated trauma center. The hospital confirmed that the two men arrived about 25 minutes apart in private vehicles."

Community policing can work with proper training, -- with law enforcement as backup. Police can also use some of the tactics themselves. Abolishment of law enforcement, however, is not the answer.

"The city said 911 calls placed about a half-hour apart indicated that the men were shot a block away from each other. Omari Salisbury, a citizen journalist for Converge Media, live-streamed on Facebook as the officers approached and announced they were coming to extract a shooting victim. The crowd shouted back: “He’s already gone.” A Seattle Fire Department ambulance was stationed one block away while medics prepared to transport the victims. Officers, some with riot shields and others with guns drawn, seemed to search the area as protesters chanted, “Hands up, don’t shoot” and followed the roving patrol. In body-cam footage of the same exchange later released by police, one protester becomes visibly upset by the presence of officers, grabbing his head with his hands and shouting, “Why are guns here?”

Wake up. Civilians were shot by criminals. One dead, the other in critical condition. Clearly, a police matter.

"Police eventually retreated to their patrol cars. All drove away but one, which a smaller group of protesters converged on and appeared to kick and hit until the vehicle drove off. “Violence has now besieged the area known as CHOP,” Seattle Police Officers Guild President Michael Solan told Fox News on Saturday. “It is no longer the summer of love, it is the summer of chaos.”

"Durkan pushed back against Trump’s earlier attacks, saying they were baseless, as the autonomous zone had been mostly peaceful. In a news conference last week, Durkan mentioned occupants holding potlucks, displaying Black Lives Matter art and screening movies. “Lawfully gathering and expressing First Amendment rights, demanding we do better as a society and providing true equity for communities of color is not terrorism,” she said. “It is patriotism.”

"Seattle police are investigating another shooting that happened near the city’s “occupied” protest zone. The shooting happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday in the Capitol Hill neighborhood east of downtown. A spokesperson at Harborview Medical Center said the man’s wounds were not life-threatening. Police didn’t immediately release more information. It was the third recent shooting near the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.” Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan said Monday the city will move to wind down the protest zone following the shootings. The mayor said the violence was distracting from changes sought by thousands of peaceful protesters opposing racial inequity and police brutality. Durkan also said police will soon return to a police station that the department largely abandoned in the area after clashes with protesters following George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police."

"Louisville’s mayor said Friday that one of three police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor will be fired."

"Taylor, who was black, was shot eight times by officers who burst into her Louisville home using a no-knock warrant during a March 13 narcotics investigation. No drugs were found at her home. A letter the chief sent to Hankison said the officer violated standard operating procedures when he “wantonly and blindly fired 10 rounds into the apartment of Breonna Taylor.” The letter says he fired the rounds “without supporting facts” that the deadly force was directed at a person posing an immediate threat. “In fact, the 10 rounds you fired were into a patio door and window which were covered with material that completely prevented you from verifying any person as an immediate threat or more importantly any innocent persons present,” the letter states. “I find your conduct a shock to the conscience,” Schroeder said in the letter. “Your actions have brought discredit upon yourself and the Department.” Sam Aguiar, an attorney for Taylor’s family said the move was overdue."

“It’s about damn time. It should have happened a long time ago, but thankfully it’s at least happening now,” Aguiar said. “This is an officer that’s plagued our streets and made this city worse for over a dozen years. ... Let’s hope that this is a start to some good, strong criminal proceedings against Officer Hankison, because he definitely deserves to at least be charged.”

"The warrant to search Taylor’s home was in connection with a suspect who did not live there. The release in late May of a 911 call by Taylor’s boyfriend marked the beginning of days of protests in Louisville, fueled by Taylor’s death and the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis. “This really confirms why the family has been calling for justice for Breonna Taylor. It’s indisputable evidence,” said Christopher 2X, an anti-violence activist in Louisville. Black Lives Matter Louisville organizer Chanelle Helm said the move brings some justice to Taylor’s family and to protesters."

“While we are still perplexed why the other officers haven’t been fired we know that is still coming. We want to thank the community for coming together in support of the Louisville protestors in spite of the violence we have experienced from the police while fighting for justice,” Helm said in a statement. Beyonce recently joined the call for charges against the officers involved in Taylor’s shooting. The superstar said in a letter to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron that the three Louisville police officers “must be held accountable for their actions.”

A video shot by one of the men involved showed a group of officers tackling a black man, with one of them putting his arm around his neck as he lay face-down on the boardwalk. In the video, someone yells, "Stop choking him, bro!" The officer relaxes his grip after a fellow officer taps him on the back and pulls on his shirt - a collegial move that received praise from the mayor. "The officer who intervened to stop his colleague did exactly the right thing," Bill de Blasio tweeted Sunday night. "I commend him. That is what we need to see from all our officers."

"It was unclear whether the man who was tackled suffered more than superficial injuries. He stood under his own power after he got off the ground and refused to let medics examine him after the incident. "Accountability in policing is essential. After a swift investigation by the Internal Affairs Bureau, a police officer involved in a disturbing apparent chokehold incident in Queens has been suspended without pay," Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said in a statement Sunday evening. All of the allegations to the city’s Civilian Complaint Review were either unsubstantiated or led to exoneration except for the ones stemming from the altercation that led to his arrest. In Sunday's incident, in the wake of protests over George Floyd’s killing by police in Minneapolis, a video shot by one of the men involved in the altercation showed officers tackling a Black man and Afanador putting his arm around the man's neck as he lay face down on the boardwalk. Body camera footage released later by police showed that for at least 11 minutes before the arrest, three men were shouting insults at the police while the officers implored them to walk away."

It was June 1, nearly three hours after federal police in riot gear charged largely peaceful demonstrators as they gathered near the White House to protest after the killing of George Floyd. Magness and others had lingered downtown past a 7 p.m. curfew. Military helicopters had been flying high overhead, seeming to track their movements. But shortly before 10 p.m., a Black Hawk swept low over protesters in Chinatown and held its position, producing gusts that snapped thick tree limbs and swirled the air with volleys of dust and broken glass, sending many running for cover in panic and confusion. “I thought they were going to land,” Magness, 24, said, fearing soldiers would pour out and force protesters into waves of police. The Washington Post reconstructed the movements of the two D.C. Army National Guard helicopters that parked nearly still in the air over protesters in Chinatown that night, using flight-tracking data, images and videos. One of the helicopters dropped as low as an estimated 45 feet, according to a 3-D model created by The Post. That altitude meant that the helicopter, a Lakota painted with the red cross of a medical evacuation aircraft, was below the height of the tallest nearby buildings, the analysis shows.

"On the streets, the maneuvers created wind speeds equivalent to a tropical storm, according to calculations by aerospace engineers who reviewed The Post’s data. The two helicopters hovered over the protesters for a combined 10 minutes, first one and then the other, as protesters ran for cover. Guard’s helicopters generally soared hundreds of feet over the city, The Post found, except for the nearly 10 intense minutes captured on numerous videos when a pair swooped low, battering demonstrators with the downward rush of air from spinning blades, known as rotor wash. The Black Hawk and Lakota left Fort Belvoir in Virginia just after 9:30 p.m. Fifteen minutes later, the Lakota roared past the Lincoln Memorial at about 460 feet and east over the Mall at about 72 miles an hour. Those calculations used signals tracked from the helicopters’ transponders from the crowdsourced flight-tracking website ADS-B Exchange.

The motion failed 55-45, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell voting against it for procedural reasons to allow the Senate to try again. Two Democrats, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Doug Jones of Alabama, broke with the party, as did independent Sen. Angus King of Maine, who caucuses with Democrats. One week ago, with his party's leadership behind him, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, the chamber's lone Black Republican, unveiled the bill with hopes of voting on the measure ahead of the Fourth of July recess. The program covers people who have been in the United States since they were children and are in the country illegally. In some cases, they have no memory of any home other than the U.S."

"The Room Where it Happened," over 500 pages long, details the president's fraught relationship with foreign leaders and his approach to foreign policy objectives, as experienced by Bolton. At various points in the book, he describes himself as "flabbergasted" or stunned by things the president said or tweeted. Mr. Trump has claimed Bolton made things up, while the director of national intelligence and the Justice Department accuse Bolton of wrongly publishing classified information.

"President Trump and his campaign have made being tough on China a key campaign platform. But several passages in Bolton's book seem to undermine that argument. In one of the more jarring passages of the book, Bolton claims the president voiced his support for concentration camps to Chinese President Xi Jinping during the 2019 G-20 world leaders summit. "XI explained to Trump why he was basically building concentration camps" for the Uighurs, Bolton writes. "According to our interpreters, Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which he thought was exactly the right thing to do." On another human rights topic, in June 2019, the president dismissed the human rights protests in Hong Kong, saying, "I don't want to get involved," and "we have human-rights problems, too," according to Bolton. The president also dismissed the Tiananmen Square massacre, suggesting it was a long time ago. "Who cares about it? I'm trying to make a deal," he said, according to Bolton. Trump urged Xi to help him get reelected. Bolton also alleges that Mr. Trump pushed Xi in trade negotiations to agree to purchase American agricultural products in order to boost Mr. Trump's political standing with U.S. farmers and help him win reelection. During a June 2019 conversation with Xi, Mr. Trump turned the conversation to the 2020 presidential election, Bolton writes. "Trump then, stunningly, turned the conversation to the coming U.S. presidential election, alluding to China's economic capability and pleading with Xi to ensure he'd win. He stressed the importance of farmers and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome," Bolton said. Bolton wrote in the book that he was prevented from publishing the president's direct words. Bolton and then-White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney learned of the president's invite to Kim Jong Un to meet him at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) through the president's Twitter feed. "Mulvaney looked just as flabbergasted as I was. I thought the tweet was a throwaway," Bolton writes. But it wasn't a throwaway tweet. The photo op took place in June 2019. "I felt sick that a stray tweet could actually result in a meeting," Bolton wrote. Bolton suggests that during a conversation between the president and Prime Minister Teresa May on Russia, the president appeared not to know Britain is a nuclear power. The discussion turned to Russia's hit job on a defected former Russian intelligence agent and his daughter, which a British diplomat described as a chemical-weapons attack on a nuclear power. "Trump asked 'oh, are you a nuclear power?' Which I knew was not intended as a joke," Bolton writes."

If the above is true, Bolton's ass should have testified during the Senate impeachment trial despite his following misgivings:

"The former national security adviser says he thinks the House should have broadened its purview for its impeachment inquiry. "Had the House not focused solely on the Ukraine aspects of Trump's confusion of his personal interests (whether political or economic), but on the broader pattern of his behavior — including his pressure campaigns involving Halkbank, ZTE and Huawei among others — there might have been a greater chance to persuade others that 'high crimes and misdemeanors' had been perpetrated," he writes."

"But Bolton, who could have testified about the president's alleged actions during the impeachment saga, said he doesn't think it would have made a difference."

The Justice Department sued on Tuesday in an effort to delay publication of the book, claiming that it still contained highly classified information and that a required review by the National Security Council had not been concluded. According to the filing, a career official determined no classified material remained in April, but national security adviser Robert O’Brien initiated a secondary review that deemed additional information to be classified. Bolton wrote that he was asked to add phrases like, “in my view,” to make it clear he was expressing his opinion instead of relying on sensitive information. In others, he was asked to describe things more generally. He was asked to remove quotation marks nearly every time he recounts conversation between Trump and foreign leaders and himself and foreign leaders."

In recent years, China has dramatically escalated its campaign against them by detaining more than 1 million people in internment camps and prisons. “At the opening dinner of the Osaka G-20 meeting, with only interpreters present, Xi explained to Trump why he was basically building concentration camps in Xinjiang,” Bolton wrote. “According to our interpreter, Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which he thought was exactly the right thing to do. ” In the book, Bolton describes every Trump decision as being guided by concerns for his own reelection, a claim that evokes the scandal that sparked Trump’s impeachment last year. The book alleges that Trump directly tied providing military aid to Ukraine to the country’s willingness to conduct investigations into his Democratic challenger Joe Biden and Biden’s son Hunter. In one conversation, Trump said “he wasn’t in favor of sending them anything until all the Russia-investigation materials related to Clinton and Biden had been turned over,” Bolton writes. Trump’s decision to withhold military assistance to Ukraine until it agreed to investigate Biden led the House to charge Trump was abusing his power. The aid was ultimately released once the holdup became public. The GOP-controlled Senate ultimately acquitted the president on that count and a count of obstructing Congress’ investigation of the incident."

But Lamberth noted that it appeared Bolton failed to complete a pre-publication government review and get written authority that his manuscript contained no classified information before publishing."

“While Bolton’s unilateral conduct raises grave national security concerns, the government has not established that an injunction is an appropriate remedy,” Lamberth wrote. “For reasons that hardly need to be stated, the Court will not order nationwide seizure and destruction of a political memoir.” However, Lamberth said a private review of passages the government alleged contain classified information persuaded him that Bolton “has gambled with the national security of the United States... [and] has exposed his country to harm and himself to civil (and potentially criminal) liability.”

"Bolton, a veteran diplomat and security expert, denied the book contained any classified information. He asserted that after a painstaking, months-long review, a career White House official, Ellen Knight, effectively cleared his manuscript in April before Trump political appointees undertook to stall it through November’s election. Bolton in that case could have sued the government, Lamberth said, instead of “unilaterally” opting out of the review process. “This was Bolton’s bet: If he is right and the book does not contain classified information, he keeps the upside [of publicity and sales]; but if he is wrong, he stands to lose his profits from the book deal, exposes himself to criminal liability, and imperils national security,” the judge said. “Bolton was wrong,” Lamberth concluded."

But Lamberth’s decision also dealt a personal and professional blow to Bolton, while the government continues to litigate to clawback any of his book profits, including a reported $2 million advance, by alleging he violated government nondisclosure agreements."

Bolton was aware of the risk. Hard to believe he didn't know what he was doing. Then again, Trump and his henchmen may find a sympathetic judge as this issue continues to be litigated. Should that happen and Bolton loses it all, certainly exposed Trump for whom and what he is. Indeed, a public service.

Zaid, a lawyer who has represented more than two dozen current and former government employees who have sought to publish books, said the likelihood of the government being able to show “irreparable harm” now that an injunction was denied is “literally impossible.” “But absent some cataclysmic event occurring, Bolton is facing loss of millions of dollars,” he said. The Justice Department also could seek to prosecute Bolton for publishing the book without authorization."

All this will likely take years to resolve since the government had apparently declared no classified material remained in the manuscript, -- then conveniently changed its mind a couple of months ago in light of the quickly approaching election and Trump's declining poll numbers. Somebody's lying. Guess who?

"The government did not name publisher Simon & Schuster as a defendant but asked the court to enjoin it along with Bolton. In a statement, company spokesman Adam Rothberg said, “We are grateful that the Court has vindicated the strong First Amendment protections against censorship and prior restraint of publication. We are very pleased that the public will now have the opportunity to read Ambassador Bolton’s account of his time as National Security Advisor.” Bolton attorney Charles J. Cooper said, “We welcome today’s decision by the Court denying the Government’s attempt to suppress Ambassador Bolton’s book.” Cooper added, “We respectfully take issue, however, with the Court’s preliminary conclusion at this early stage of the case that Ambassador Bolton did not comply fully with his contractual prepublication obligation to the Government, and the case will now proceed to development of the full record on that issue. The full story of these events has yet to be told — but it will be.” At a hearing conducted by videoconference Friday, Deputy Assistant Attorney General David M. Morrell said he did not know whether the president was involved in the process of clearing the book for publication and acknowledged he knew of no precedent in which high-level officials intervened in classification reviews."

Carefully consider the following. Will likely present a problem for Trump and his henchmen:

"The government acknowledged that after Knight on April 27 said Bolton had completed required edits, Trump appointees began another review. That process was led by Michael Ellis — a former aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and the National Security Council’s new senior director for intelligence — who received his classification authority March 1 and was not trained on it before he completed the Bolton manuscript review. Morrell acknowledged the government could confirm that only three of the six samples it gave the court were classified before Ellis’s re-review. One of those included a matter described in a government declaration Wednesday, in which Gen. Paul M. Nakasone, director of the National Security Agency, said a limited portion of the draft manuscript “implicates” TS/SCI. He said “compromise of this information could result in the permanent loss of a valuable [signal intelligence] source and cause irreparable damage to the U.S. [signal intelligence] system.”

"Bolton in a court filing Thursday argued that “sweeping” changes demanded just two days earlier by the White House after Ellis’s re-review apparently would eliminate passages describing most of Trump’s conversations with advisers, foreign leaders and numerous others portraying him in an unflattering light, Bolton said in a court filing. Among its disclosures already reported, the book states Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help him win the 2020 U.S. election, confirms Trump attempted to use military aid to pressure Ukraine on political investigations, and says Trump expressed willingness to halt or obstruct criminal investigations as personal favors to authoritarian foreign leaders."

"Trump has previously responded on Twitter by calling Bolton a “Wacko” and claimed that the former close aide’s account is “a compilation of lies and made up stories, all intended to make me look bad.”

Called the truth, Mr. 'President.' Then again, expect better of a congenital liar?

"In an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America," John Bolton, President Trump's former national security adviser, condemned the president, saying he hoped history will remember him as "an aberration." "His policymaking is so incoherent, so unfocused, so unstructured, so wrapped around his own personal political fortunes, that mistakes are being made that will have grave consequences for the national security of the United States," Bolton told George Stephanopoulos Monday. But the reaction was swift against Bolton, who refused to testify before House lawmakers during the impeachment hearings. He later said he would appear as a witness before the Senate during Trump's trial but Republicans blocked a vote to call witnesses.

"Bolton announced during Sunday's special that he will not vote for Trump, adding on Monday that he's "not switching to the Democratic Party. I'm still a rock-ribbed conservative Republican." Instead, he will write in a conservative politician's name in November. That contrasts with what Bolton told voters in 2016 when he supported Trump's candidacy -- saying that a vote for a third-party candidate was a vote for Hillary Clinton. "Having watched Donald Trump for 17 months, I cannot in good conscience vote for him, and I think there are a lot of other Republicans who feel the same way. This is not a happy election for conservatives," Bolton said.

"In the days since details from Bolton's book first started to leak, Trump and his allies have attacked him. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called him a "traitor" and accused him of lying -- charges that Bolton dismissed. "He's responding the same way that President Trump is -- they call names, they deny -- but they're not willing to face up to what the real facts are," Bolton said.

"The Trump administration has also accused Bolton of revealing classified information in his book. A federal judge seemed to agree Saturday, ruling that the Department of Justice can't block the release of his book, but warning Bolton "has exposed his country to harm and himself to civil (and potentially criminal) liability." Bolton said Monday he and his lawyers "respectfully disagree" with the judge."

"A senior State Department official who has served in the Trump administration since its first day is resigning over President Trump’s recent handling of racial tensions across the country — saying that the president’s actions “cut sharply against my core values and convictions.”

Every time we witness these heinous, murderous events, we are reminded that our country’s wounds run deep and remain untreated,” Taylor wrote in her note, also obtained by The Post. “For our team members who are hurting right now, please know you are not alone. You are seen, recognized, heard, and supported. I am right here with you.”

Berman's office filed charges last fall, accusing them of violating federal campaign finance laws."

These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem. No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked. It's time to stand up. Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight. Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb. From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain. Wake up. Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen. After all, you're bought and paid for. Owned. Not only by your government masters, but their masters. The corporate management suite. Your employers. Think not? Wake up. You're human chattel. Corporate-owned, bought and paid for. Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly, literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor. Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision. To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day. You have no control of your lives. You're owned. Forget? For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits. At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor. Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys. Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit. To line County coffers. Keep the peasants in line and under control. A fascist police-state. Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril. Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority. Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are. Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication? Thus, conveniently killing all credibility. Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country. Insult to injury? There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway. No matter the effort. No matter the research. No matter the proof. Wake up. This writer cannot do it alone. Snowball's chance in hell. Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded. Always. You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy. Literally.
