As always, when a cop does something heroic, and/or of exceptional benefit to the community, it leads. Always. PIX 11 News reports:

"JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens — A toddler is alive thanks to a rookie cop who came to the rescue. PIX11 was there as Rebeca Alarcon and her daughters, 20-month-old Leah and 6-year-old Naomi, arrived to show their gratitude to their real-life heroes at the 115th Precinct. “I really thankful for him. I owe him a life,” Alarcon said. Leah looked like any other happy playful toddler, but 24 hours earlier much more different. “My sister couldn’t even talk or move her arms,” Naomi Rivas said. Leah suffered a seizure and stopped breathing at about 9:30 p.m. Monday. Her distraught parents acted quickly. Alarcon ran several streets, with her child in her arms, to the nearby precinct."

"Officer Osvaldo Nunez, a 22-year-old rookie who graduated from the police academy last month, sprang into action. All his training kicked in and he performed CPR. “I brought her inside and stabilized her head,” Nunez said. “Once she gained consciousness, I had a feeling that I’ll never forget.”

"Nunez grew up in Queens. He said it’s an honor to give back to the borough he was raised in. The officers of the 115th say it’s all about building community relations. “The precinct is a safe haven. You come here for help and we’re here to help,” said Deputy Inspector Carlos Ortiz, commanding officer of the 115th Precinct. “I couldn’t be more proud of my officers."

"This family said they’ve made a friend for life. “I owe a lot. God bless him,” Alarcon said."

"Body camera video shows police rescuing a trapped passenger from a fiery car crash in Atlanta. CBS affiliate WGCL-TV reports a car hit a metal utility pole early Sunday, and the engine compartment was aflame by the time police arrived. Bystanders helped get two people out of the burning car, but the front passenger was unconscious. So three police officers got to work. One used a fire extinguisher to combat the fire, and another worked to open the passenger's damaged door. News outlets report an officer's pants caught fire, but he only suffered minor scrapes and bruises. The three people were hospitalized. Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee thanked the citizens who helped remove the people, and commended the officers."

Hat's off to all officers and civilians involved. ... Great policing. -- Humanitarian response from civilians who risked their lives as did the officers to save lives. Uncommon valor.

"Body camera footage shows Atlanta police officers’ harrowing rescue of a person trapped in a burning car early Sunday. “This accident could have been much worse than it was," police said in a statement, praising, "the actions of citizens and officers who put aside concern for their own safety and acted to help those in need.” A sedan with three passengers crashed into a metal utility pole, causing the engine and front hood of the vehicle to erupt in flames, according to police. When officers arrived at the scene around 4 a.m., good Samaritans had already removed the other two passengers from the back of the vehicle, but they could not help the passenger stuck in the front and closest to the flames, according to police."

"Officers were quick to stop the flames from spreading. As seen in the footage, one officer used a fire extinguisher to keep the flames from reaching the front compartment while other officers pulled the passenger from the burning vehicle through the driver’s side door. The front passenger did not appear to have any burns on their body. All three passengers were transported to Grady Hospital and are in stable condition, according to police. Officers are still determining what led to the initial accident and who was driving the sedan, according to police. “We are extremely proud of the actions of these officers,” police said in a statement. “They acted quickly and with determination.”

One exceptionally fortunate fawn in California is certainly grateful to an officer in the Highway Patrol. Fox News reports:

"A highway patrol officer who became an internet sensation after he helped rescue a month-old fawn from a Northern California wildfire said Monday he didn't expect the photos to go viral. On Saturday morning, California Highway Patrol Sgt. David Fawson of San Francisco helped Cal Fire officers rescue a fawn from fast-growing wildfire in Redding, about 230 miles north of San Francisco. "We were driving through an active fire, when Cal Fire said, 'Can you take a deer out [of] here for us?'" he said. "I held it in my lap as we drove out." He and his partner took the fawn to safer area miles away, but the baby deer didn't run away like Fawson thought it would. "It stayed right by me," he said. "When it tried to nurse on one of my fingers, I thought, 'This is truly a young baby.'"

Terrible fire. Not only have people lost their lives, think of all the wildlife.

"Fawson, 38, said he asked a colleague to take a photo because he knew his four daughters, ages 7, 9, 12 and 15, "would love it." The popularity of the photos online took him by surprise. Pictures of the fawn sitting in his lap in a patrol car and licking his neck have been shared more than 16,000 times on Facebook. Representatives from Haven Wild Care's fawn rescue program came to retrieve her within two hours. They named her Carra, after the fire she escaped. Fawson was on a two-day deployment in Redding to help the agency fight the Carr Fire. More than 50 officers from the CHP Golden Gate Division are helping during the wildfire that has destroyed more than 700 homes and claimed six lives in Redding.

"The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Haven Humane Society in Anderson has taken in 500 dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and livestock during the fires. Fawson said thousands of first responders are working to save human lives, structures, and animals. Helping the fawn was a small victory. "Any one of us would have done that," he said."

Hat's off to all the firefighters, law enforcement, and rescue personnel involved.

Last crew member still alive has no second thoughts, no regrets. NPR reports:

"On Aug. 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It was the first time a nuclear weapon had been used in warfare. There were three strike planes that flew over Hiroshima that day: the Enola Gay, which carried the bomb, and two observation planes, the Great Artiste and the Necessary Evil. Russell Gackenbach was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps and a navigator on the mission. Today, the 95-year-old is the only surviving crew member of those three planes.

"Gackenbach enlisted in the Army Aviation Cadet Program in 1943. After completing his training, he was approached by Col. Paul Tibbets, who was recruiting officers for a special mission. Tibbets said it would be dangerous but if they were successful, it could end the war. The 509th Composite Group, lead by Tibbets, spent months training in Wendover, Utah, before being shipped off to an American air base on the Pacific island of Tinian. Their planes were reconfigured B-29 Superfortress bombers. They had different engines, fewer guns and a larger bomb bay.

"The Enola Gay carried the weapon, nicknamed "Little Boy." It weighed nearly 10,000 pounds and could produce an explosive force equal to an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 tons of TNT. But at the time, Gackenbach didn't know any of this. "I never heard the words 'atomic bomb,' " he tells Radio Diaries. "We were only told what we needed to know, and keep your mouth shut."

"The planes took off around 2 a.m. on Aug. 6, 1945. Gackenbach was part of the 10-man crew that flew on the Necessary Evil. "We were told that once the explosion occurred, we should not look directly at it, that we should not go through the cloud," he says. "We were not told anything about the cloud, just [told] don't go through it." As they made their final approach to Hiroshima, they were flying 30,000 feet over the city. Then, the radio went dead: that was the signal from the Enola Gay that the bomb had been released.

"The first thing Gackenbach saw was a blinding light and then the start of a mushroom cloud. He got out of his seat, quickly picked up his camera and took two photographs out the navigator's side window. The plane circled twice around the mushroom cloud and then turned to head home. "Things were very, very quiet," Gackenbach says. "We just looked at each other; we didn't talk. We were all dumbfounded."

"The casualties on the ground were staggering. An estimated 80,000 people were killed instantly. Another 80,000 died from effects of the bomb in the months and years following. Hiroshima was destroyed. Three days later, the U.S. dropped a second atomic bomb, on the city of Nagasaki. And on Aug. 15, Japan announced its surrender, bringing an end to World War II.

"Gackenbach was discharged in 1947 and went on to work as a materials engineer for 35 years. In 2011, he returned to Japan to visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. "After 73 years, I do not regret what we did that day. All war's hell," he said. "The Japanese started the war; it was our turn to finish it."

Must not be forgotten military planners had estimated U.S casualties, killed and wounded, would have stood at one million had Japan been invaded to end the Second World War. The thinking was that the Japanese would have fought to the last man, woman, and child using pitchforks if necessary. Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority. What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint? Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation? The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise. Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases. Total independence. Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked. Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe? Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation. Apparently, there has been none. If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner? To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for. Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot. Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot. Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved. Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back? To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road? Why hasn't she been evicted by the County? Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens? Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery? Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue. For what? Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

Wake up, Sheriff. Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office? One hundred twenty weeks, now. A goddamned disgrace. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history? An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse. How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? One hundred twenty weeks. Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger. To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff? Those of your thugs? "The family of Antwon Rose, an unarmed black teenager fatally shot by a white East Pittsburgh police officer, filed a lawsuit against the borough on Wednesday, alleging wrongful death and use of "excessive and deadly force." In the federal lawsuit, the family claimed East Pittsburgh failed to "properly train" its officers, resulting in the 17-year-old's death. Rose was fatally shot at a traffic stop by officer Michael Rosfeld on June 19. Rose and another passenger were attempting to flee on foot when the teen was shot."

Always a mistake to run from the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue. Always. Grants them carte blanche to murder innocent unarmed civilians. Don't make that mistake. Don't give them the satisfaction.

"Rosfeld, who is also named as a defendant in the suit, said he thought the car was connected to a recent drive-by shooting when he pulled it over, according to investigators. Witnesses and video captured by bystanders show Rose was unarmed at the time, sparking protests against alleged police brutality."

Since it is highly unlikely anyone other than the officer will be criminally charged, every official involved needs to be held civilly accountable for the murder of this unarmed kid perpetrated by the jackbooted bastard in blue.

"The defendants "had a duty, but failed to implement and/or enforce policies, practices and procedures for the EPPD that respected Antwon M. Rose, II's constitutional rights to assistance and protection," the suit said."

"The overwhelming facts and unequivocal laws supporting this lawsuit are so clear and self-evident that it could have been filed within days of Antwon's death," Fred Rabner said in a statement. "And while this suit will never quell their tremendous grief or minimize their tragic loss, we feel that it is time that we begin to seek answers and take appropriate court action to ensure justice."

"Rosfeld, the 30-year-old officer who shot Rose, was charged in June with criminal homicide in the wake of the shooting. He had been with the East Pittsburgh Police Department for three weeks as a part-time officer and was sworn in just hours before the shooting occurred. Last week, Rosfeld waived his preliminary hearing, which is often held to decide whether enough evidence exists to hold defendants for trial, according to Pennsylvania law. Rosfeld’s lawyer, Patrick Thomassey, didn’t immediately respond to ABC News’ email request for comment. But he previously said that his client had the right to shoot."

One has to wonder what police were thinking. -- To say nothing of supermarket employees. CNN reports:

"Barbecuing while black. Napping while black. Now add helping homeless people while black to the list of things that can lead to a visit from police. Employees at a Safeway supermarket in Mountain View, California, called 911 on an African-American woman and her family because they suspected them of shoplifting, police said. Safeway has since apologized for what the store said was a misunderstanding. Erika Martin told CNN that the incident occurred when she stopped at the store last month to help a homeless man she knew hung out there. She gave him a bag of dog food and some treats for his pit bull. Her two sisters were also there and gave two men care packages with soap, toothpaste, hand sanitizer and other hygiene products. "I help the homeless as much as I can. I see homeless people weekly and I try help them the best that I can," Martin said."

"Martin said her son, who's about to turn 10, and her nieces and nephews went into the store to see if the bakery was giving out free cookies and to get samples from the deli. Martin stayed outside and talked to her sisters and the man to whom she gave the dog food. She said a Safeway employee came out of the store, looked directly at her and rushed back inside, which she thought was strange."

All the employee had to do was show some backbone. Had the courage to talk to the woman.

"As Martin prepared to leave, two police cars drove up and one stopped behind her so she couldn't back out of her parking place. They asked why she was there and if she had any warrants, Martin said. She told them that she'd never even had a parking ticket."

What were these pieces of shit doing? Making small talk? What the hell did they think she was doing in a supermarket parking lot? Couldn't have been shopping or waiting for someone who was shopping, could it? What the f--k did "warrants" have to do with anything? Is this jackbooted police procedure not-so-cleverly designed to intimidate civilian targets? Get their cookies off in the encounter?

"Mountain View Police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said that a Safeway employee called the police and to report a theft in progress. Five officers were dispatched to interview store employees and the Martin family. "It was extremely clear to us that no one who had been identified was potentially involved in any sort of criminal activity, and we explicitly said as much to Safeway employees," Nelson said."

Then why the hell didn't you arrest the racist bastards for making a false report?

"Martin said one of the officers told her that Safeway had called the police because she matched the description of someone taking items from the store and said the suspect was wearing a spaghetti-strap shirt. Martin said she was wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt that said "Y'all need Jesus," and had not even gone into the store. Nelson said the description "somewhat matched" the top one of Martin's sisters was wearing."

"The employee told the police that the children were running back and forth to a car parked outside. "During the initial dispatch call, a Safeway employee informed our dispatcher that both employees and customers believed a man and a woman as well as children were working together to try and take items from the store," Nelson said."

Why the hell didn't they determine what was or wasn't going on before calling the jackbooted bastards in blue? Being black probable cause a crime has occurred or is in progress?

"Martin said the questioning scared her son and he started crying while talking to one of the officers. He told her that when the children asked for cookies the woman at the bakery counter told him that "We don't have anymore cookies to give to you," Martin said. He said they looked behind the counter and saw that there were cookies back there. The officer asked if they had taken any cookies and he said no.
"My son was crying so much, he was so scared because he thought he did something wrong. He thought the police were going to arrest him for looking behind the counter," she said. "To see my child in so much fear broke my heart." She said police let them go after about 30 minutes."

A half hour to determine a false report had been made? Why should it have taken that long? Yet, police remain achingly clueless:

"In that short amount of time, we not only determined that no crime occurred, we explicitly told Safeway employees as such. None of the people Safeway identified in their call to us nor in their subsequent interview with us committed any crime whatsoever," Nelson said."

"We were very appreciative of the way the family allowed our officers to wrap up the call, and we apologized for inconveniencing their evening," she said."

"After one of Martin's sisters, Faith Martin-Ware, posted a video of the July 8 incident on Facebook, news outlets began picking up on the story. Martin said she and her sisters had shopped at that store three or four times a week but are not comfortable going back there now.

"We were there to do a good deed and we left feeling humiliated, embarrassed, hurt and shocked," she said."

"Safeway spokeswoman Wendy Gutshall said in a statement that employees called police because a man suspected of shoplifting there in the past was in the store."

"Safeway has reached out to Ms. Martin to sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding, and we look forward to continuing the discussion regarding her concerns. We have also commenced an internal investigation, which remains ongoing," she said. Martin said that a store manager has apologized for what happened and she is scheduled to speak with someone with the Safeway corporate office on Wednesday."

"Gutshall said that Safeway held store-wide employee meetings earlier this year to reiterate their policies against racial discrimination and racial profiling of customers, and plan to roll out training on implicit bias later this year."

Clearly, too little, too late. Obviously, have ongoing, unresolved issues. Otherwise, wouldn't have had the earlier meetings and plans for further training this year. Hard to believe the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue didn't already know that prior to this latest fiasco.

Here's another example of law enforcement gutlessness, poor training, and/or procedures. Not clear yet, just which. Resulted in the needless death of a highly-decorated combat veteran. -- A man who had just killed a criminal to heroically save the life of his grandson. ABC News reports:

"The Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient who was killed by Colorado police after he saved his grandson from a home intruder did not follow officers' orders to drop his gun, Aurora Police Chief Nicholas Metz said in a press conference Thursday."

"Richard "Gary" Black, 73, shot and killed the suspect, 26-year-old Dajon Harper, as Harper allegedly "violently and seriously" assaulted Black's 11-year-old grandson in the bathroom of the Aurora home early Monday morning, Metz said."

Heroically, did the right thing. What he had to do. Saved the life of his grandson.

"Officers heard shots fired inside the home within three minutes of arriving on the scene, Metz said. When Black came into view, they observed that he had a firearm and instructed him multiple times to "drop the gun and to show his hands," Metz said."

"After the shooting, investigators learned from Black's family that the Vietnam War veteran had "a significant hearing impairment." "I don’t know what he was able to hear and not hear," Metz said."

Jesus Christ. -- Shoot first, ask questions later? ... Doesn't seem to be the case. At least, not at this time with the information available. Something does need to change, however. Here's why:

"Police began receiving 911 calls around 1:30 a.m. Monday from a house party Harper attended across the street from Black's home. The calls detailed that Harper had become "out of control," Metz said. Harper had been "acting irrationally" and damaged cars in the area, and even injured himself in the process, Metz said. It was difficult to get information from the callers at that point due to the commotion, Metz said. One person who hung up and was called back by emergency dispatchers told them, "I don't know where I am. Just get here," Metz said. At that point, there was "still no description provided to our dispatch as to what this person looked like who was out of control," Metz said."

"Harper then allegedly ran across the street to Black's home and banged on the "very solid door" so hard that he knocked it off its hinges and entered the home, Metz said. A number of people ran in after him in an effort to get him out of the house, but they were not able to, Metz said. Harper allegedly dragged Black's grandson into a bathroom. After going into Black's home, Harper allegedly dragged Black's 11-year-old grandson into a bathroom and "violently assaulted" him, Metz said, declining to describe the crime further."

"When Black's wife called 911, she told dispatchers that the "man who entered was trying to drown" her grandson, Metz said, adding that her 911 call was "incredibly difficult" to listen to because of all of the screaming that could be heard in the background. Black's wife told dispatchers that a person was in the bathroom "hurting the child," and that there "was lots of blood everywhere," Metz said. When the dispatcher asked Black's wife whether there were weapons, she replied, "No," Metz said. Another 911 from a family member of Harper's indicated that he was "on drugs," Metz said, but it is unclear what kind of drugs the caller was referring to."

"The body camera video worn by the officer who shot Black began as he and another officer responded to the incident, Metz said. Once they arrived and got out of the car, they encountered several people yelling in front of the home who appear "very agitated" and "very emotional," Metz said. The group informed the officers that they tried to get into the home and that Harper was allegedly "hurting the child," Metz said. As the officers walk up to the home, Black's wife can be heard saying, "He has a gun," Metz said, but it is unclear who she is referring to. As officers walked toward the house, they heard shots fired, "within 33 seconds of their arrival on scene," as well as "a lot of screaming inside the home," Metz said."

"After taking a step back from the front door, the officers saw Black emerge from behind a wall about 15 to 20 feet away inside holding a gun in one hand and a flashlight in the other hand, Metz said. For the next 13 seconds, officers gave commands to Black to drop the weapon and show his hands, but he didn't, Metz said. Ten seconds later, Black walked toward officers with the gun and flashlight still in his hands, prompting the officer to fire four rounds at him. It is unclear how many times Black was struck. After Black fell to the ground, the officer dispatched for medical attention and continued to give Black orders to show his hands, Metz said. He then directed other officers to provide aid to Black as he and two more officers continued "forward to where the screaming was coming from." While on the ground, Black was able to tell officers that his son and grandson were in the bathroom, Metz said."

Why did this officer continue firing after his target was hit? Why high-powered round after round? The target was an elderly man. Think the first high-powered round didn't take him off his feet? Officers don't take into consideration a target may be deaf or hard of hearing? Again, the investigation is only beginning.

"When the officers got to the bathroom, they found a "deceased, nude man on the floor," and the 11-year-old and his father in the bathtub -- a mere 2 minutes and 27 seconds after they arrived on the scene, Metz said. The child was screaming that Harper "was the one that assaulted him" and gave "pretty graphic details" of what happened to him, Metz said. Once the scene was secured, Black was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, Metz said."

"Authorities are not yet releasing the 911 calls or body camera footage at this time, at the request of prosecutors and Black's family, Metz said. The footage will be released at a later time, once the investigation is over and a forensic review has been conducted on the portions that are inaudible, Metz said. "We are supportive of releasing it," Metz said. "I want to make that very clear." Metz did not release the identity of the shooting officer."

That's a problem. The public has a right to know the identity of the officer. Immediately. No reason to sit on this information.

"The officer has been with the Aurora Police Department for three years and had just been reviewed for another police-involved shooting that took place 30 days prior, Metz said. He returned to duty 18 days after the shooting after receiving peer support and spending time with the department's psychological services, Metz said. Metz chalked the proximity of the two shootings to coincidence and praised the way he handled the situation."

How does the public know that without disclosure of his identity and all video?

"We can't control the kinds of situations that our officers are going to be called to -- whether it's a week later or a year later," he said. "I feel bad for this officer. Unfortunately, lightning struck twice for him. But, when I watched that video, I'm impressed at his ability to remain calm."

Without immediate release of the video, how does the public know that? How do we know it's no more than a coincidence? How do we know the officer was fit to return to duty so soon?

"Metz disputed claims that the officers acted recklessly in their response. "They were not reckless," he said."

"These officers responded, again, how I would expect them to respond in this situation, given the limited amount of information."

That may be so, but again, without video, identification of all officers involved, further information, how do we know?

"The shooting officer, who works the graveyard shift patrolling northeast Aurora, has been placed on paid administrative leave -- as have the other officers involved, Metz said. He has had no prior internal affairs complaints, Metz said."

The fact there were no prior complaints doesn't necessarily mean anything. Victims are well-aware such complaints usually go nowhere. Seldom file them for that reason. Worse? Fear retribution.

"Black's death "has been devastating" for the officer, a military veteran himself who has served on two deployments, Metz said."

"Harper had been arrested twice on suspicion of first-degree murder, once in 2011 and again in 2013, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records obtained by ABC Denver affiliate KMGH-TV. Both times the charges were either dropped or reduced, according to the CBI records."

She spat at police before an officer started raining down punches on her head, back and face, WJBK reported. Detroit police Chief James Craig said that the 18-year police veteran at the center of the incident was suspended with pay soon after police got the “very disturbing video” on Wednesday."

“I will tell you preliminarily, even though we are very early in this investigation, one of the concerns that I have is the fact that the officer did not handcuff this mentally ill person,” Craig said. “We know from our training and experience that anytime we transport someone -- particularly if they’re suffering from mental illness -- for their safety, for the officer’s safety and for the community’s safety… we handcuff.” Craig said footage from police body-worn cameras shows that the woman became agitated after police brought her to the hospital."

“She was threatening, clenched fists. She spat on several of the hospital employees,” Craig said. “A member of the (hospital’s) security staff was bitten twice and sustained some injury. At one point she tried to bite the officer who used force. “So, as he was trying to calm her down, at some point the officer began to strike her because she wasn’t responding, she was not compliant.”

"An unidentified woman told WJBK that she started recording video when she saw the situation escalating from a hospital waiting room. Craig said police obtained the video around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday after WJBK alerted them to it. “What’s troubling for me is we are taught to de-escalate,” Craig said. “There are points in the video where certainly it appeared that did not happen. If someone’s back (is) to you and you’re still continuing to use hard hands, that is a concern.”

Newman testified that he fired his handgun four times through the closed garage door after seeing Hill with a gun. A single bullet fatally struck his head. An unloaded gun was later found in Hill's back pocket."

"The small group of protesters had gotten word about the wedding and made sure they were there just hours before the officer was to say, "I do." "A police officer was charged with voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a man reported to have been hanging on or jumping on moving cars near a Pennsylvania amusement park, a prosecutor announced Tuesday. Officer Jonathan Roselle of the South Whitehall Township police department had an "unreasonable" belief that his safety was endangered when he shot Joseph Santos on July 28, said Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin. Police say Santos was damaging cars and interfering with traffic in South Whitehall Township near Dorney Park before the officer confronted him. "When the officer arrived Santos climbed on the hood of his vehicle and pounded on his windshield and side windows. He then walked away but wheeled around and approached, ignoring the officer's commands to stop and get down on the ground, and the officer fired five times. CBS Philadelphia obtained cell video from an eyewitness that showed the fatal encounter. Santos wasn't armed at the time of his death."

"A Utah police department has cleared an officer who opened fire on a woman in June after threatening to shoot her as she paced around holding a screwdriver and verbally taunted officers. But a county prosecutor had a different interpretation — that the shooting was not legally justified and that the officer came ready to open fire. Police body camera video, obtained by NBC News, depicts Cpl. Jeremy Dunn of the Enoch City Police Department responding to the scene of a burglary call on June 28 and coming upon a woman refusing to drop a screwdriver as another male suspect stood near her side. The woman, Ivonne Casimiro, is seen in the video repeatedly telling officers to “go ahead, blow,” as they aimed their guns at her. “You come at me with that knife, I guarantee I’ll smoke ya,” Dunn told the woman. After two failed taser attempts to subdue Casimiro, Dunn aims his gun at her. She raises the screwdriver in her right arm and starts to take a step with her left leg. That’s when Dunn squeezed off three rounds at Casimiro’s legs. Investigators said Casimiro was treated by paramedics after being struck twice in the knee. She was later treated and charged with assault on an officer and having a stolen vehicle, NBC affiliate KSL reported. "She is not pointing the screwdriver at the officers, nor does she appear to be threatening them, although she is defiant and combative," Iron County Attorney Scott F. Garrett said in a letter to the Enoch police. Garrett, the county’s chief prosecutor, concluded that the officer's use of force was illegal, but he also said criminal charges would not be filed. "It cannot objectively be stated that the officers or anyone else were in danger of death or serious bodily injury at the exact moment that lethal force was used," he wrote. " ... It was not objectively reasonable for Corporal Dunn to use deadly force ... " The prosecutor decided, however, that the state would be unable to prove "criminal intent."

Gelernt also said that 95 percent of the parents who were deported without their children are from Guatemala and Honduras. Many come from very remote places and it is difficult to locate them, he added."

Earlier this week, the White House said it was considering boosting tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, raising those tariffs to 25 percent from 10 percent. On Friday, the Ministry of Commerce described its planned response: four different types of tariffs on $60 billion of U.S. goods. And I am very vehemently against family separation and the separation of parents and children."

"A widely used loophole for funneling secret "dark money" into political ads closed quietly last weekend, as a federal judge concluded it thwarted Congress' intent to have broad disclosure of political money. Chief Judge Beryl Howell, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, threw out a regulation adopted by the Federal Election Commission in 1980. The rule said that "non-political" groups, such as 501(c) nonprofit organizations, could ignore a disclosure law if donors' contributions were not earmarked for specific advertisements — an exception that wasn't in the law passed by Congress. Howell's decision was issued Friday evening. She listed ways in which the regulation undercut the transparency principles of campaign finance law: "including informing the electorate, deterring corruption, and enforcing bans on foreign contributions being used to buy access and influence to American political officials."

"In the months before the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally last August, a chat app called Discord was abuzz with alt-right agitators. Discord, which was started in 2015 as a secure chat app for videogamers, also happened to be conducive for white supremacists, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and other members of the alt-right movement who sought to keep their identities secret. It allowed the organizers and participants of the deadly Aug. 12 rally to convene in private, invite-only threads shrouded in anonymity, with usernames such as “kristall.night” and “WhiteTrash,” according to a federal lawsuit. On a Discord server called “Charlottesville 2.0,” they planned everything from car pools, dress code and lodging in Charlottesville to how one might improvise weapons in case of a fight. Some suggested using flag poles as a makeshift spear or club."

"The Discord messages have been cited in a federal lawsuit filed against the Unite the Right’s alleged organizers by counterprotesters who were injured during the rally, including two people hit by a car that rammed into a crowd, leaving one person dead. Attorneys for the counterprotesters have argued that these Discord messages and hundreds of others are central to proving that Unite the Right organizers “conspired to commit acts of violence, intimidation and harassment” against people in Charlottesville that weekend. The attorneys filed a subpoena for Discord, seeking to obtain the messages and account information of more than 30 anonymous users who appear to have participated in the Unite the Right rally."

Can't hide behind the First Amendment to escape justice for committing violence up to and including murder:

"But one anonymous woman, the one called “kristall.night,” filed suit seeking to quash the subpoena that could unmask her and dozens of other users. She claimed the counterprotesters were intentionally seeking to “out” her as a member of the alt-right movement, putting her in fear of her own safety. Revealing her identity, her attorney argued, would infringe on her First Amendment rights to engage in “anonymous speech” and to associate with a politically unpopular group. On Monday, however, a magistrate in California disagreed."

"U.S. Chief Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero declined to fully quash the Discord subpoena, finding that the plaintiffs’ interest in discovering her identity as a possible witness or co-conspirator behind the Unite the Right rally outweighed her right to speak anonymously on the Internet. Any identifying information discovered within her Discord account will be classified as “highly confidential,” the judge said, restricting it to a select amount of people. “While even limited disclosure of this information may create some chilling effect,” Spero wrote, “the protections available through a designation of ‘highly confidential’ mitigate that harm, and Plaintiffs’ interest in this information, which is relevant to testing their claims of an alleged violent conspiracy based on racial and religious animus, outweighs the potential harm to [Jane Doe’s] right to association.” Spero agreed to quash the portion of the subpoena seeking the contents of the messages, saying it violates the Stored Communications Act. In his 28-page ruling, Spero appeared to acknowledge why Discord might have been so appealing to members of the so-called alt-right in the first place: “It is clear that many members of the ‘alt-right’ feel free to speak online in part because of their ability to hide behind an anonymous username,” he wrote."

The judge, seemingly, has gotten it exactly right. Quite a balancing act. Be interesting to see what impact it has on the case, -- if his ruling indeed stands. May be appealed:

"Kristall.night’s attorney, Marc Randazza, argued in legal filings that the subpoena for Discord is a “fishing expedition with the ultimate goal of destroying the lives of people Plaintiffs do not like, even though these people have done nothing to harm Plaintiffs.” He told The Washington Post that “outing” members of the alt-right movement who believed their messages were private could lead to violence against them. He said he does not trust that his client’s information will remain “highly confidential,” as the judge said. “I can’t believe people believe this ….” he said, referring to his client’s political beliefs, “but they get to do that. That’s what the [expletive] enlightenment is about. That’s what the [expletive] First Amendment is about. That’s what this [expletive] country is about. But people don’t get to do that anymore. You have to be hounded out of your apartment, out of your job, out of whatever it is you have, if you have the audacity to have an unpopular political belief.” Randazza said he is still considering whether to appeal the magistrate’s decision."

and t15 FTP servers. This hacking attack apparently occurred the day
after Wells Fargo closed two accounts because I publicly accused them of
criminal activity. Your company needs to look into this matter. Get these
FTP servers up and running again. A criminal complaint will be filed with
the U.S. Attorney regarding all the ongoing criminal activity by Wells
Fargo, now extended to hacking and undue interference with the webhosts.

Welcome. Liberty In Peril has been relaunched at a new URL:
libertyinperil.com. This is a new commercial site hosted in an overseas
country, which unlike our own, does value free speech, Net security,
privacy, equally importantly, despises hackers. Banks too big to fail
should not have the ability to shut down ftp servers on four Liberty In
Peril websites, making upload impossible. -- Simply, because they don't
want the truth of their criminal activity reported to the public.

Should this site not be kept up, running, and fully operational, the
libertyinperil.com domain will be quickly moved to a different host
despite cost and hassle. No more bullsh-t. Criminal complaints will be
prepared and filed against Amanda Wright, Lynn Massey, and the equally
criminal bastards in the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for
egregious deceptive trade practices.

Email notification of local businesses of these practices, has and will,
continue unabated until Wells Fargo accepts responsibility, ceases these
practices, and finally makes it right. During the last several weeks
after the ftp servers were hacked, a blizzard of these emails was sent to
local businesses to keep intense pressure on the criminal bastards at
Wells Fargo. Copies of these emails were sent to bank officials. They

publication. This is being done because so many of you access this

This site has finally been fully uploaded. All links appear to be
properly working. Typos in the rush to get material up have also been
corrected. There will be a few additional changes to be made as time
allows. Including, again, a smart phone-friendly abbreviated version of
each future Newsletter Edition starting with v434 that will be available
in addition to the regular edition.

Hopefully, now, I can finally get back to the business of this
publication, that is exposure of corrupt, abusive, inept, clueless
government lackeys beholden to their corporate masters, rather than
dealing with recalcitrant webhosts. We'll see. With the
libertyinperil.com domain, however, any necessary changes in webhosts will
be easy to make since all links won't have to be changed or deactivated.

The pressure on Wells Fargo will continue unabated. Should they further
interfere with operation of this publication, it will simply provide
additional fodder for criminal complaints to be filed against them.

On 9-22-15, Kingsland Wells Fargo Store Manager Amanda Wright forced
closure of two accounts because for nearly three years this writer has
publicly accused her, her predecessor Lynn Massey, and the Wells Fargo
corporate management suite of engaging in criminal deceptive trade
practices, as well as pressuring, unduly interfering and/or bribing
webhosts to take these websites down.

Apparently, they have successfully managed to unduly influence and/or
bribe the federal Consumer Financial 'Protection' Bureau and Texas
Attorney General Consumer Protection Division as well. Forget? The bank
is considered too big to fail. Considers itself government.

For all practical purposes, that's perversely true. They have money and
resources to buy not only their human chattel, but their bought and paid
for government lackeys. Be interesting to see whether or not the U.S.
Attorney is untouchable, or sadly, similarly capable of being bought.

Immediately after closure of these accounts, the three operational Liberty
In Peril FTP servers were hacked. What that means is that while all three
sites remained operational and accessible to readers, new material could
not be uploaded. This continues to date.

Worse, 'free' accounts on all three 'free' webhosts conveniently no longer
provide technical control panel support. Clearly, they don't want to know
there are problems. Have managed, however, to find other ways to contact
webhost management and have done precisely that.

Will take a criminal investigation to determine who hacked the sites,
however. Most likely, Wells Fargo had a hand in it. Certainly, have the
resources. Highly, unlikely the Llano County Sheriff's Office was
involved. Hard to believe they would be that stupid. The Bank, however,
has nothing to lose. Owns its government lackeys. The Sheriff and his
outrageously corrupt and abusive goons, however, can expect further

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues. Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail. Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion. That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago. This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below. ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere. Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Kim, Burnet Chamber of Commerce, Burnet, TX. A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright. She has, indeed, been promoted branch manager. Reverse Darwinism. Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The name of this publication was changed some fifteen years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril. The reason? Simple. Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication. Either through advertising or other financial support. Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues mustbe addressed. Can't be ignored. That's where you come in dear readers. Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up. Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit. To line County coffers. Keep the peasants in line and under control. A fascist police-state. Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril. Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority. Click here for a most interesting conversation between JP2 Linda Ballard and LCRA Communications Supervisor Mitch Hibbs who at the time was investigating a complaint made by the Henderson family against the 'judge.' The recording had been made by Hibbs and provided by Phyllis Henderson who had gotten it through an open records request. During the course of the recording you will hear the 'judge' make a terroristic threat against the Henderson family which the investigator laughingly shrugged off as a joke.

Seems former LCRA Ranger Lance Bilski, stepson of Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn, had been harassing the Henderson family regarding their tire business, Henderson Tire. Worse? There are unsubstantiated allegations, that although very much attached, Bilski may have indeed engaged in improprieties, that is, egregiously unprofessional conduct relevant to the Henderson complaint. All this had been covered in Newsletter Text V346.
