Another heartwarming story about a kid doing something loving for law enforcement. ABC News 10 reports:

"A little boy who’s been in and out of the hospital since birth only wanted to do one thing this holiday season: to make others smile. “Last summer, I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, and he said he wanted to make people smile,” James Assimon’s mother, Cheryl Assimon, said."

"That’s when James’ Project Smile was born, and he would pass out magnets at stores to make people smile. But after watching a television news report of violence towards police, James and his mother made special magnets with angels on them so each officer could have a guardian angel."

“When they see it, they can be reminded that somebody in the world wants to make them smile,” Cheryl said. “It’s not a very nice place sometimes. And sometimes people aren’t nice to each other. But we need to make it a point to be nice.” That’s how the 6-year-old got a special visit and tour of the Colonie Police Department complete with a ride in a police cruiser with lights and sirens blaring."

“It made our Christmas,” Lt. James Jerace said. “We know people are supportive of the police, but sometimes we don’t hear it.” In return, James was invited to spend the day with the people he wanted to protect. He checked out the department’s robot and played Frisbee. So much energy came from a boy who had brain surgery two years ago."

"He had everyone feeling like a kid again. And when asked what he wants to be when he grows up he said he wants to “be a police officer.”

"In the meantime, his magnets offer protection and a smile to remind Colonie officers they have a friend in James."

"Eric Schmitt-Matzen volunteers as Santa Claus at a local Tennessee hospital. A 60-year-old Tennessee man who spends time volunteering as Santa Claus at a local hospital granted a 5-year-old terminally ill boy his final wish this holiday season, and held him as he died in his arms. “I spent four years in the Army with the 75th Rangers, and I’ve seen my share of [stuff],” Eric Schmitt-Matzen told USA Today. “But I ran by the nurses’ station bawling my head off. I know nurses and doctors see things like that every day, but I don’t know how they can take it.”

"Schmitt-Matzen, a mechanical engineer and president of Packing Seals & Engineering in Jacksboro, Tennessee, had arrived at the unidentified hospital and met the boy’s mother and family members, who were also unidentified. A nurse had called with the special request and given him a toy to offer the child during his visit, USA Today reported. “When I walked in, he was laying there so weak, it looked like he was ready to fall asleep,” Schmitt-Matzen told the news outlet. “I sat down on his bed and asked, ‘Say, what’s this I hear about you’re going to miss Christmas? There’s no way you can miss Christmas! You’re my No. 1 elf!’”

Think any of this boy's caregivers would have traded places with this most extraordinary Santa?

“’They say I’m going to die,’ he told me. ‘How can I tell when I get to where I’m going?’ I said, ‘Can you do me a big favor?’ He said ‘Sure!’ 'When you get there, you tell them you’re Santa’s No. 1 elf and I know they’ll let you in.’ He said, ‘They will?’ I said, ‘Sure.’” “He kind of sat up, and gave me a big hug and asked one more question: ‘Santa can you help me?’ I wrapped my arms around him. Before I could say anything, he died right there. I let him stay, just kept hugging and holding on to him,” Schmitt-Matzen told USA Today."

Kicker? How this most extraordinary man dealt with the seemingly impossible?

"The boy’s death left Schmitt-Matzen questioning whether he could continue donning the signature white beard and red suit, but he returned for other sick children and saw the effect it had on them. “When I saw all those children laughing, it brought me back into the fold. It made me realize the role I have to play. For them and for me,” he told USA Today."

Amazing how a grave mistake in childhood can haunt a physician an entire lifetime. NPR reports:

"Dr. Joseph Linsk grew up on Atlantic Avenue in the uptown section of Atlantic City, N.J., in the early 1930s. It's an area where he's spent most of his life and where he practiced medicine starting in the 1940s, specializing in cancer and blood diseases. Now 94 years old, the former hematologist and oncologist is failing in health, as he battles Parkinson's disease. This grave illness, however, is only one part of a perennial struggle Linsk faces. For more than 80 years, he has kept a secret. And it's one about which we're kindly requesting your help."

"At his Atlantic City home over the Thanksgiving weekend, Linsk was recorded by his son, Richard, as part of StoryCorps' annual effort called the Great Thanksgiving Listen. During that recording, Dr. Linsk shared that well-guarded secret he had held onto for almost his entire life. "When I was 8 years old, I was running in the schoolyard and my arm struck the eyeglasses of one of the students. And he began to cry," he recalls. "He was going to tell his father. It would cost $2 to fix the glasses. And I was frightened to death — where was I going to get the $2?"

Amazing how something that occurs in childhood can seem so overwhelming at the time. Lead to a cover up that can result in unanticipated ramifications, cost peace of mind an entire lifetime.

"Linsk knew he had to find a way to make up for his playground fumble. "We had a cleaning lady by the name of Pearl, a black woman. And I knew that every week, she'd get $2 for her services," he says. "On this particular day, I was so terrified, I took the $2, and took it to the teacher and settled the problem of the broken glasses."

"When Pearl finished her day's work, she went for the $2 and they weren't there. And my mother said there was no question that Pearl took the $2 and didn't admit it. And my mother was so angry that she told Pearl not to come back anymore," Linsk says."

"Pearl, who had several children, couldn't get another job, Linsk says. "I was the only one who knew the true story. And I didn't tell anyone. And I was smitten with grief at what I had done." "I kept that secret to the age of 94, which is hard to believe, but the event never left me."

With the passing of John Glenn, his widow Annie must not be forgotten. Like her late husband, she is quite an inspiration. The Washington Post reports:

"Well before he exited the Earth’s atmosphere, John Glenn flew at least 149 combat missions — 59 during World War II and 90 during the Korean War. It must have been difficult on his wife, Annie Glenn (maiden name, Castor). To ease her fear, before each mission Glenn would utter the same words: “I’m just going down to the corner store to get a pack of gum.” “Don’t be long,” she would always respond."

"John and Annie were a strong couple — married 73 years — but while John spent his life in the air and on television, Annie spent hers here on Earth, focused on the people who often go unseen: the disabled. “It really is worth everything to be able to help people,” Annie told The Washington Post in 1984. And she did — despite, or more accurately because of, all she had to overcome."

"To many, theirs was an odd pairing. As John himself wrote: “We practically grew up in the same playpen. We never knew a time when we didn’t know each other.” (Annie says they were 2 years old when they met.) But they were different. John was athletic and outgoing while Annie barely spoke, not because she didn’t have anything to say, but because when she did, people often assumed she was either deaf or mentally deficient. For most of her life, Annie was afflicted with an 85 percent stutter, meaning she would become “hung up on 85 percent of the words she tried to speak, which was a severe handicap,” as John put it."

"For Annie, stuttering meant not being able to take a taxi because she would have to write out the address and give it to the driver because she couldn’t get the words out. It would be too embarrassing to try to talk about where she wanted to go. Going to the store is a tremendously difficult and frustrating experience when you can’t find what you want and can’t ask the clerk because you are too embarrassed of your stutter."

"As The Post reported, once her daughter stepped on a nail. As blood gushed out, Annie couldn’t speak well enough to call 911. Instead, she found a neighbor to make the call for her."

Glenn always looked out for his wife. Always. One time when she was terribly stressed in a telephone conversation with him, he told her:

“Look, if you don’t want the vice president or the TV networks or anybody else to come into the house, then that’s it as far as I’m concerned,” John told her. “They are not coming in and I will back you up all the way and you tell them that! I don’t want Johnson or any of the rest of them to put so much as one toe inside our house!”

"Then, one day in 1973, the couple was watching the “Today” show. A doctor was discussing a new method of treatment for stutterers, an intensive three-week program in Roanoke. Annie enrolled. They made her relearn each letter of the alphabet. They forced her to go to a shopping center — and shop. To ask questions, for the first time. The enrollees weren’t allowed to call friends or family for that three weeks. When it was over, Annie picked up the telephone. “When I called John, he cried,” Annie said. “People just couldn’t believe that I could really talk.” And when she got home, according to John’s memoir, she talked. He recalled one of her first lines: “John, I’ve wanted to tell you this for years. Pick up your socks.”

"Annie began giving speeches on behalf of her husband when he ran for Senate. After each speech, she would rush to greet those everyone else ignored — the disabled."

"After years of cruel slurs, of being overlooked by strangers, Annie Glenn seeks out the handicapped. In a crowd, she heads straight for those in wheelchairs. She has a sort of radar; finds the shyest person in the room and takes the time to draw him out. A group of deaf people were in the audience at one of her husband’s speeches. Afterward, Annie Glenn went over to them and soon was learning sign language. As the press crowded around Glenn, he looked over at his wife, who was signing “I Love You” to the deaf. “That’s what you should be covering,” he told the reporters."

This, coming from a man who was a fighter pilot, test pilot, astronaut, an American institution.

"Deciding to help those in need, she became an adjunct professor with the Speech Pathology Department at Ohio State University’s Department of Speech and Hearing Science. “She is incredibly inspirational to students, many who have not had that much contact with people who stutter,” Rebecca McCauley, a professor in the department said. “Her influence is quite huge when speaking to students who are just getting into the field.”

"With John’s death on Dec. 8, Annie Glenn, now 96, is alone for the first time in 73 years. But her life has been a testament to strength in adversity."

"As John Glenn once wrote of her: “It takes guts to operate with a disability. I don’t know if I would have had the courage to do all the things that Annie did so well.” “We tend to think of heroes as being those who are well known,” he wrote, “but America is made up of a whole nation of heroes who face problems that are very difficult, and their courage remains largely unsung. Millions of individuals are heroes in their own right.”

In follow up to the above, the following mathematician made that first orbital mission possible. NBC News reports:

"John Glenn gained his place in American lore when in 1962 he came the first American to orbit the Earth. That mission, however, never would have happened without Katherine Johnson."

"Johnson, one of NASA's first black female employees, was one of the mathematicians who verified the computer's calculations that ensured Glenn's orbit was even possible. Upon Glenn's request, she was the only black woman in the control room during his launch."

"In 1960s Jim Crow America, Johnson and her two African-American female colleagues, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, were called the "colored computers." Their remarkable story will be told in the upcoming film 'Hidden Figures' set to be released on Christmas Day."

Racism is sadly still alive and well. Back then, however, not in the closet.

"I read the script and I just remember initially being angry," actress Taraji Henson, who plays Johnson in the film, told NBC News. "Here we have these women who changed the course of America, the history of this nation and we don't know about them."

"Johnson, now 98, is the last living member of the unsung trio who forever changed the trajectory of American space exploration. Growing up in West Virginia, she said numbers were always on her mind." "I counted everything," Johnson told NBC News. "I'd count plates when I washed dishes. I counted steps from church."

Indeed, that's what a mathematician does. Not always, however. "Johnson graduated college at just 18 years old and went into teaching, the only field open to hiring black women at the time. Johnson still had a dream: to work at NASA. In 1953, at the age of 35, she was hired as one of the agency's first black female recruits."

"When she walked into the control center, she was the only black," Charles Bolden, current NASA administrator, told NBC News. "They thought she was the maid."

"Bolden, who himself is NASA's first black administrator, called Johnson a role model. In November 2015, President Obama awarded Johnson the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian award, for her contributions to the advancement of the country's space program. A trailblazer for women of color in the field, Johnson's story will soon no longer be hidden from history."

All the above happened when our formerly great country was young, strong, brave, -- and free.

Hat's off to UPS. One of their drivers saved the day for a woman who desperately needed help. The Washington Post reports:

"Increasingly desperate, the woman had already tried to escape once. But her husband grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back into the house they shared in Franklin County, Mo., according to Fox-affiliate KSTU. For 15 hours, he beat and sexually assaulted her. He put a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her, then himself, the news station said. He forced her to take off all her clothes."

"Through it all, their 3-year-old son was locked in a bedroom without food or water."

"It’s unclear what sparked the particularly violent bout of abuse, but authorities say it might have ended in disaster if not for a deliveryman’s knock at the door. The UPS driver came to the one-story house just before noon on Tuesday to pick up a package. As the woman talked to the driver, her husband, later identified as James Jordan, stood behind her with a gun, the station reported. Somehow, she managed to scrawl on the box: “Contact 911.” The driver did, and now sheriff’s deputies are calling him a hero."

Hat's off to the driver and his company. Job well done. Indeed, a public service.

Wake up, Sheriff. Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office? Thirty-five weeks, now. A goddamned disgrace. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history? An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse. How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? Thirty-five weeks. Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger. To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff? Those of your thugs? The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down. You don't understand that, Sheriff? Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one. Including taxpayers. Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot. The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt. Think not? Wake up. Your credibility has tanked. It's time the public be fully informed. -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County. If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be yours courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone. ... Right, Sheriff? TL? "Sonny Boy?" Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why. This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet. Ignored. The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us. They can't be. They've lied too many times. Refuse to be accountable to anyone. We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity. That has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement. This also has to change. No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer. No one. No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar. There was no justice there. None here. None anywhere. Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

How does one easily do so when one is invested in businesses all over the globe?

"That means Trump would almost certainly need to give up his new D.C. hotel and other properties patronized by representatives of foreign governments, Painter said, but could keep other aspects of his businesses that involve only U.S. citizens or private foreign clients. “Theoretically, he could keep businesses that don’t deal with foreign governments and corporations controlled by foreign governments,” said Painter, offering the example of an office building in which the tenants are only American firms or privately owned foreign companies as a permissible business venture."

"Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall shared a disturbing letter sent to him via the team on Instagram Friday. The handwritten letter informs Marshall that the writer hates him and that Marshall’s “time is coming” before telling him that “we are channeling a devastating hard hit for you” that will leave Marshall in a wheelchair. Interspersed throughout the letter are a variety of racial epithets and, in what seems to be a reference to Marshall kneeling during the national anthem earlier this season, an invitation to “go back to Africa.”

Time to tell it like it is? Right now. Not when you're about to retire. The Washington Post reports:

Why is the United States selling, and now delivering, F-35 stealth fighters to the Israeli aggressor? The aggressor has used American-supplied F-16s to bomb civilians in highly-populated Palestinian neighborhoods in direct violation of U.S. export law that requires these weapons to be used only for defensive purposes. "The vanguard of Israel's new fleet of F-35 fighter jets roared onto the Nevatim air base Monday, ushering in a new era for Israeli air power and sharpening its military edge in a volatile Mideast. The arrival of Israel's first two F-35 stealth aircraft also highlighted the Obama administration's commitment to providing its ally with the latest U.S. military advances."

The question is why. The Israelis are using American-supplied weapons to commit atrocities against Palestinian civilians. Why won't the 'Justice' Department enforce U.S. weapons export law? The aggressor plans to buy 50 of these warplanes. Think this won't further enflame relations between Israel and its neighbors? Especially, when the Israelis use these weapons against civilian targets.

and t15 FTP servers. This hacking attack apparently occurred the day
after Wells Fargo closed two accounts because I publicly accused them of
criminal activity. Your company needs to look into this matter. Get these
FTP servers up and running again. A criminal complaint will be filed with
the U.S. Attorney regarding all the ongoing criminal activity by Wells
Fargo, now extended to hacking and undue interference with the webhosts.

Welcome. Liberty In Peril has been relaunched at a new URL:
libertyinperil.com. This is a new commercial site hosted in an overseas
country, which unlike our own, does value free speech, Net security,
privacy, equally importantly, despises hackers. Banks too big to fail
should not have the ability to shut down ftp servers on four Liberty In
Peril websites, making upload impossible. -- Simply, because they don't
want the truth of their criminal activity reported to the public.

Should this site not be kept up, running, and fully operational, the
libertyinperil.com domain will be quickly moved to a different host
despite cost and hassle. No more bullsh-t. Criminal complaints will be
prepared and filed against Amanda Wright, Lynn Massey, and the equally
criminal bastards in the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for
egregious deceptive trade practices.

Email notification of local businesses of these practices, has and will,
continue unabated until Wells Fargo accepts responsibility, ceases these
practices, and finally makes it right. During the last several weeks
after the ftp servers were hacked, a blizzard of these emails was sent to
local businesses to keep intense pressure on the criminal bastards at

publication. This is being done because so many of you access this

This site has finally been fully uploaded. All links appear to be
properly working. Typos in the rush to get material up have also been
corrected. There will be a few additional changes to be made as time
allows. Including, again, a smart phone-friendly abbreviated version of
each future Newsletter Edition starting with v434 that will be available
in addition to the regular edition.

Hopefully, now, I can finally get back to the business of this
publication, that is exposure of corrupt, abusive, inept, clueless
government lackeys beholden to their corporate masters, rather than
dealing with recalcitrant webhosts. We'll see. With the
libertyinperil.com domain, however, any necessary changes in webhosts will
be easy to make since all links won't have to be changed or deactivated.

The pressure on Wells Fargo will continue unabated. Should they further
interfere with operation of this publication, it will simply provide
additional fodder for criminal complaints to be filed against them.

On 9-22-15, Kingsland Wells Fargo Store Manager Amanda Wright forced
closure of two accounts because for nearly three years this writer has
publicly accused her, her predecessor Lynn Massey, and the Wells Fargo
corporate management suite of engaging in criminal deceptive trade
practices, as well as pressuring, unduly interfering and/or bribing
webhosts to take these websites down.

Apparently, they have successfully managed to unduly influence and/or
bribe the federal Consumer Financial 'Protection' Bureau and Texas
Attorney General Consumer Protection Division as well. Forget? The bank
is considered too big to fail. Considers itself government.

For all practical purposes, that's perversely true. They have money and
resources to buy not only their human chattel, but their bought and paid
for government lackeys. Be interesting to see whether or not the U.S.
Attorney is untouchable, or sadly, similarly capable of being bought.

Immediately after closure of these accounts, the three operational Liberty
In Peril FTP servers were hacked. What that means is that while all three
sites remained operational and accessible to readers, new material could
not be uploaded. This continues to date.

Worse, 'free' accounts on all three 'free' webhosts conveniently no longer
provide technical control panel support. Clearly, they don't want to know
there are problems. Have managed, however, to find other ways to contact
webhost management and have done precisely that.

Will take a criminal investigation to determine who hacked the sites,
however. Most likely, Wells Fargo had a hand in it. Certainly, have the
resources. Highly, unlikely the Llano County Sheriff's Office was
involved. Hard to believe they would be that stupid. The Bank, however,
has nothing to lose. Owns its government lackeys. The Sheriff and his
outrageously corrupt and abusive goons, however, can expect further

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues. Several years ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard. Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers. A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others at the time.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail. Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion. That has yet to be determined.

The bastard and his office, no matter what, failed to respond to the complaint originally snail mailed several years ago. This material, figuratively targeting Wells Fargo and the governor 'wannabe' now Governor, had been posted and can be found by scrolling all the way down and clicking on the links well below. ... Governor? Wells Fargo bribe you to look the other way?

Will continue to do all I can to publicly expose this to all, both in this publication and elsewhere. Have done precisely that with the following email sent to Sharon Jenkins, Realtor, CLHMS, CNE, ePRO, Horseshoe Bay. A copy of it was also sent to Wells Fargo officer Amanda Wright. She has, indeed, been promoted to branch manager. Reverse Darwinism. Survival of the unfittest.

This young woman has indeed been rewarded by the Wells Fargo corporate management suite for engaging in criminal deceptive trade practices and her undying loyalty to her corporate masters. The name of this publication was changed some ten years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril. The reason? Simple. Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade. Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication. Either through advertising or other financial support. Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues. Another reason for this publication name change. Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed. Can't be ignored. That's where you come in dear readers. Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up. Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result? Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day. Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit. To line County coffers. Keep the peasants in line and under control. A fascist police-state. Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril. Most galling? Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority. Click herefor a most interesting conversation between JP2 Linda Ballard and LCRA Communications Supervisor Mitch Hibbs who at the time was investigating a complaint made by the Henderson family against the 'judge.' The recording had been made by Hibbs and provided by Phyllis Henderson who had gotten it through an open records request. During the course of the recording you will hear the 'judge' make a terroristic threat against the Henderson family which the investigator laughingly shrugged off as a joke.

Seems former LCRA Ranger Lance Bilski, stepson of Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn, had been harassing the Henderson family regarding their tire business, Henderson Tire. Worse? There are unsubstantiated allegations, that although very much attached, Bilski may have indeed engaged in improprieties, that is, egregiously unprofessional conduct relevant to the Henderson complaint. All this had been covered in Newsletter Text V346.
