Some cops can't catch a break.  Louisiana Covington Police Officer Lance Benjamin is certainly one of them.  Christmas Eve he was on patrol in a quiet subdivision when he got smacked hard on the side of the face.  Initially, thought he had been hit with a football, -- his windows down.  Not so.  In his own words, "And then I felt some scratching on the back of my head and some pecking."

An owl had flown through the driver's window of his cruiser, started attacking him.  Caused him to lose control of the car, wound up in a ditch:

"I tried to keep control of my car, went into a ditch, avoided some trees. Finally was able to stop the car put it in park get out. And there he was, just chilling out in the car."

The owl wouldn't leave the cruiser for 45 minutes.  The Chief didn't initially believe it.  Thought it a prank, -- until he viewed the dash cam.  Fortunately, the officer wasn't seriously injured.  Received some antibiotics and a tetanus shot.  Finished his shift.

... His fellow officers weren't quite ready to leave it at that, however.  Presented the officer with a stuffed owl to accompany him on his late night patrols.

Marine Lance Corporal Peter Allen not only has class, but a heart of gold.  His wife, Kellie Allen, certainly found a keeper.  She was recently at a Florida mall and was having a picture taken with Santa, his mother, and a young cousin.  The Lance Corporal deftly snuck behind them and was included in the picture.

-- Having just married back in September, she had not expected him home until late January at the earliest.  Was unaware he was right behind them when Santa asked what she wanted for Christmas.  Responded, "For my husband to come home."  The 20-year-old Marine later commented, "I was just so happy to hear her say that, and it was just so genuine 'cause she didn't even know I was there yet."

After the picture was taken, it was shown to Kellie who had not been aware her Marine had been standing right behind her all the time.  Needless to say, everyone was crying, including the Marine.  The Lance Corporal later opined, "Of course, I was crying, too.  I was so happy to see her."

With wisdom and grace far beyond his twenty years, the Lance Corporal remarked, "She thought she was going to have to spend this Christmas without me.  I just wanted to surprise her for Christmas and make her happy. I think all guys should never stop surprising the girl they love. Keep that fire going even in the smallest of ways."

Remember the heartrending photo of 3-year-old Syrian Aylan Kurdi washed up on shore several months ago?  His father, Abdullah Kurdi, delivered a Christmas message asking the world to open its arms to Syrian refugees.  Interestingly, Canada had denied the dead boy and his family refuge.  Canadians, themselves, would have no part of that.

Heroically, privately raised funds and are offering Syrians sanctuary.  Hat's off.  Too bad we aren't doing the same here.  En masse.  Apparently, too gutless.  What happened to us?  Where did we lose ourselves?

The Washington Post conducted a study of law enforcement officers involved in shootings during 2015.  Not surprisingly, they found for 55 of them it wasn't their first time to kill on the job.  For several, their third.  For one, his fourth.  This is particularly troubling since most officers never fire their weapons on the job.  ... Reread the last sentence. Most officers never fire their weapons on the job.

The Post reports there is no nationwide system that tracks multiple shootings by individual police officers.  Why not?  Why are these jackbooted thugs protected by government bureaucrats clearly, securely in their pockets? The Post also reports another 45 officers were previously involved in non-fatal shootings.  The Post also reports a minimum of 62 people were shot and killed in the last 30 days.  Why wasn't this front and center in the news?

The public has a right to know precisely how violent law enforcement has become.  As well as the circumstances and location.  Worse?  The Post also reports many departments refuse to identify the officers involved or give intentionally scant details.  Why?  Again, why are they protecting and coddling these jackbooted killers?  Scant information means it is impossible to track officers involved in multiple killings.  Precisely, what is clearly intended.  This must change.

The Post reports it requested information on 743 police killings from January to September of 2015.  Was provided information on only 367.  Again, why?  Why are they protecting these killers from scrutiny?  Why?  Also, when multiple officers are involved in killings, it frequently remains unclear who fired the fatal shot or shots.  Why?

Again, why are they protecting these killers from full exposure?  ... Accountability?  What's that?  Equally to the point?  Why are these jackbooted bastards afforded special treatment not accorded the public?  Why?  Do their outrageously corrupt and abusive handlers truly believe these bastards can do no wrong?  Are beyond reproach?

The Post study is quite detailed.  Only the surface was scratched above.  Despite that fact, why aren't these statistics already collected by government?  Why is it necessary for media to do this?  Only the government has the resources to forcibly collect, save, and analyze far more copious amounts of data from recalcitrant law enforcement agencies, utilizing sophisticated statistics necessary to truly know precisely how corrupt, abusive, and murderous law enforcement has certainly become in our formerly great country.  Indeed, a goddamned fascist police state.

Although under supposed close scrutiny by the 'Justice' Department, the Chicago Police Department has once again appeared to have wantonly killed a 19-year-old black engineering honors student as well as a 55-year-old black woman the jackbooted bastards supposedly claim got 'accidentally' caught in the line of fire.

No justice.  Two jackbooted Cleveland cops will not be indicted for the murder of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.  Couldn't be, could it?  Wake up.  The 'prosecutor' has chosen to use the grand jury to protect and coddle two murderous officers.  Took over a year to do so.  Dragged it out to make it look good and give both thugs sufficient time to get their stories straight.

Both murderous bastards failed to follow proper police procedure.   Pulled up alongside the kid instead of placing distance between themselves and what turned out to be their murder victim.  Had they done so, Rice would have likely been alive today.  Shoot first, ask questions later rules in the police community.  They're goddamned cowards.  -- The murderous bastard killed the kid within a second of arrival.

These murders will not end until the law changes.  Provision must be made to protect the public from murderous officers.  Capital murder charges need to apply to murderous officers as well as those who murder cops.  What that means is that officers who murder on the job need to be convicted and sentenced to death.

The law must apply equally to cops who murder as well as to those who murder cops.  Equal treatment under the law.  No coddling of murderous officers.  No special treatment.  The failure to indict two Cleveland jackbooted thugs only moves the second American revolution doomsday clock ever closer to midnight.

A new independent federal agency needs to be created to investigate and prosecute criminal police officers in all 50 states, territories, and the District of Columbia.  This would be its only function.  No state agency, including the Texas Rangers, can be trusted to be impartial.  Precisely, why at least four highly questionable police killings here in Llano County in the last decade or so desperately need to be investigated by such an independent federal agency.  ... Right, Sheriff?

Of equal importance, carte blanche must be immediately withdrawn from the Sheriff and his goons to loot, shake down, and otherwise abuse the public they've allegedly sworn to protect and defend.  The Sheriff and his thugs have clearly no clue there is no difference between "proactive policing" and a fascist police-state.  Sadly, they've become one and the same.

A new law goes into effect in California, January 1.  It allows police and family members to request a judge temporarily suspend someone's Second Amendment right to possess a firearm.  Can you imagine the level of abuse this outrageously unconstitutional  law can and likely will generate?  Got a beef?  Stick it to your victim.  Deny him or her possession of a weapon through a 'judge' no more than a stooge.

Fascist legislators elsewhere throughout the country plan to extend it to friends and fellow employees at the workplace.  Imagine that.  Sh-t on the Constitution to provide ersatz 'security.'  A goddamned fascist police-state. University physicians did so back in the late 80s and asked Jacobus to manufacture and study it.

Don't get sick in Liberty Calhoun Hospital in Florida.  The hospital called police to remove a woman who refused to leave.  Claimed to be sick.  Barbara Dawson, 57, was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing by Blountstown police.  Collapsed while in handcuffs and was immediately brought back into the hospital.  Where she died, -- despite the fact doctors said her vital signs were good.  Much more to come as this story develops.

Will certainly employ more Internet resources including Google Earth, other map and imaging services to expose my thieving brother and the shyster bastard employed to engineer the theft.  To not only their professional communities, but the neighborhoods they live in. Circles they travel in.  As many of their associates as I can find.  Fresh complaints will also be filed with prosecutors and the State Bar.  While all this will take considerable time, effort, and work, it is certainly achievable in the age of the Internet.

What will make this far more interesting than the Wells Fargo fiasco, I intend to air all dirty family laundry to expose my brother for the thieving bastard he has clearly become, as well as how out of state authorities did absolutely nothing to investigate the abuse of an elderly man, my father, as well as the theft of his estate.

Jack Derrington has announced his bid for Sheriff.  Mr. Derrington owns the U-Haul business in Kingsland.  His wife owns May I Help You.  Mr. Derrington indeed has an impressive background in law enforcement, including a long stint in the Drug Enforcement Administration.  Retired quite some time ago.

Hope he finally understands drug prohibition, like that of alcohol, has been a miserable failure.  Corrupted every law enforcement agency in the country, -- including the Llano County Sheriff's Office.  Should he be elected, needs to immediately clean up this outrageously corrupt, abusive agency that currently isn't worth a sh-t.

Every goddamned thug on the force needs to be immediately drug tested by a truly independent agency.  Not only for intoxicants, but steroids as well.  There needs to be a radical turnover in officers.  Those remaining, as well as new hires, need to be trained to treat the public with respect, dignity, not as jackbooted goddamned thugs and nazi storm troopers.

The effort to expose Wells Fargo egregious deceptive trade practices continues.  Months ago to determinedly apply renewed pressure on our truly worthless, egregiously self-serving Texas Attorney General, now Governor, an excoriating email was sent to the bastard.  Copies of which were also passed on to both offending Wells Fargo officers.  A copy was also sent to the Davis campaign and others.

Voters did have a right to know as Attorney General, the GOP candidate for Governor apparently selectively investigated, or not, bona fide complaints filed by citizens against banks too big to fail.  Possibly, Wells Fargo could have lined his pockets in some fashion.  That has yet to be determined.
