The savagery of ISIS remains appalling.  The recent beheading of photo journalist James Foley is murder.  No excuse, no justification, no rationale, no reason.  Sons of bitches such as the apparently British 'executioner' responsible for this atrocity cannot be reasoned with, rehabilitated, allowed to remain in society.

Despite U.S. intentions to conduct a criminal investigation, where is American jurisdiction in this particular case?  Where?  The murder did not occur on American soil, -- or what is considered American soil such as an embassy.  Did not occur on the high seas where there would indeed be jurisdiction provided by international law and the United States Constitution.

It occurred on foreign soil.  Under foreign jurisdiction.  Does not mean, however, that the United States, Britain, and other allies should not try to identify the bastard.  Use the military to capture if possible, otherwise permanently remove him on the battlefield.  Remains an exigent threat to society worldwide.  So does ISIS, aka ISIL, aka Islamic State.

The U.S. has been quite right bombing ISIS in support of the Kurds.  Has certainly enabled them to make significant progress against this scourge.  Time for the rest of the Iraqi military to finally step up, -- instead of cowardly removing uniforms, turning tail, abandoning billions in American-supplied weapons.  ... Weapons now quite effectively used by ISIS lunatics to kill and maim.

The recent beheading, however, has set off a frenzy in Washington.  Provoked hawks such as Senators McCain and Graham to effectively call for renewed American involvement vis a vis boots on the ground.  Even Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel joined the chorus at a press conference 8-21-14:

"ISIL is as sophisticated and well-funded as any group that we have seen.  ... They're beyond just a terrorist group. They marry ideology, a sophistication of strategic and tactical military prowess. They are tremendously well-funded. Oh, this is beyond anything that we've seen. So we must prepare for everything.  ... A cold, steely hard look.  ... Get ready."

Ready for what Mr. Secretary?  Does the State Department indeed intend to allow them into our formerly great country without full background checks as happened with the 9/11 terrorists?  Ignore tips provided by American businesses as was done with the flight schools prior to the earlier attacks?  Eviscerate what little remains of all civil and constitutional rights and liberties?  Falsely, in the name of "national 'security?'"

The exigent threat to our formerly great nation is indeed no terrorist group, foreign power, or the criminal element.  It is government at all levels, all branches.  Does not mean, however, the United States should not continue to bomb ISIS and support the Kurds.  Does mean it's time to inform all media should they attempt to cover the advance of ISIS they do so at their own risk.  Horrific risk.

Compounding this problem is the fact the President has so poorly handled the crisis in Syria.  ISIS has taken full advantage, enjoys sanctuary there it brilliantly uses to export its cancerous ideology and perverse religious beliefs into Iraq.  Precisely, why at time of writing the President has ordered surveillance flights over Syria.  Apparently, is considering extending the bombing there.  What webs we weave.  Right, George?  "Slick Dick?"  This is now, however, an Iraqi problem.  They must finally step up.  Do the grunt work necessary to eradicate the cancer.

Any further involvement, new action such as extending the bombing campaign into Syria needs to be approved by Congress.  The President does not have the authority to expand the conflict without a congressional vote.

We don't listen to our veterans.  Fail to hear what they wisely say.  A remarkable number of them opine killing is always wrong, but sometimes necessary.  Think about that.  A deceptively simple, yet profound concept, thought, idea, rumination, insight.  Certainly, explains the post traumatic stress endured by so many.  The ever present highly debilitating excruciating moral dilemma posed by killing, justified or not.  Yet, they're right.  Killing is sometimes necessary.

Certainly was vis a vis the Second World War.  Not so after, -- until 9/11.  Even that could have been avoided had the Israeli aggressor been reined in decades prior to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  The attacks themselves could have likely been thwarted had the State Department done full background checks prior to allowing the bastards into the country.  Certainly, should have immediately deported them when flight schools informed the government these men only wanted to learn how to fly, not take off and land.  Yet, all this continues to be ignored by our achingly gutless, hopelessly clueless citizenry, as well as their corporate war profiteering masters and their bought and paid for shills in government.

Corrupt, abusive, inept U.S. law enforcement is again using the rise of ISIS as a convenient excuse to harass innocent American citizens they consider sympathetic to this group.  Shamelessly, so.  Allegedly grilling them for hours.  Any Miranda warnings given?  Not clear.  Yet, another jackbooted goon scourge.  In Nazi America.  Indeed, a fascist police-state.

Yet, this very same excruciating moral dilemma posed by killing, justified or not, equally applies to police.  Think the officer who killed Michael Brown exempt?  That particular killing justified or not?  To date, only the officer and witnesses know what truly happened.  No matter what, six rounds fired into an unarmed man will never sit well.  Always raises questions.

Always leads to distrust, along with deliberate phony income generation by corrupt, abusive, inept police writing tickets for chicken-sh-t 'crimes' or crimes that never happened.  Physically abusing 'suspects' while their hands are cuffed behind their back as apparently routinely happens here in nazi Llano County.  Where highly-abusive, corrupt, inept Sheriffs such as Bill Blackburn egregiously deliberately fail to rein in their jackbooted thugs.   Cowardly refuse to identify these bastards, promptly or not.  Indeed, Nazi America.  A fascist police-state.

The growing repression, indeed oppression, blatant creation of a fascist police-state in our formerly great country remains unacceptable.  Appalling.  Equally pointedly, phony alarm bells coming from the Right in Congress, the Secretary of Defense, and others are cleverly designed to 'justify' boots on the ground in Iraq.  To line pockets of corporate war profiteers as well as the oil industry.  Keep the gravy train going.  ... While doing nothing to rein in the Israeli aggressor and American imperialism in the Middle East.  -- Both of which remain the prime mover, instigator of this terrorist cancer.

Received a private message over the weekend from a most dear, trusted, loved, treasured, cherished, long-term friend.  Regarding her belief our country is supposedly a Christian nation.  Since many readers indeed subscribe to this very same belief, thought it might be of interest to the readership to publish my response.  Since privacy of the correspondent must be protected, only the substance of the response sans identifying information is posted:

"Admire your spunk, resilience, commitment to your religious beliefs.  Also, the fact you sent this at 5:06 in the morning.  As with all pronouncements from the Right it comes bastardized, distorted, manipulated to make the point, further the perverse ideological and religious beliefs of the fringe.  Some of it is spot on, the rest not so.  Indeed, the Right has the right to believe and practice its beliefs as it sees fit.  Does not have the right, however,  to force those beliefs on the rest of us courtesy of law and executive fiat.

"Remain horrifically offended nazis such as our indicted Governor, with a whole lot of help from the Legislature, force their outrageously perverse ideological and religious views on women seeking an abortion.  -- Whether it's forcing unwilling doctors to effectively sexually assault unwilling women with medically unnecessary highly invasive trans vaginal sonograms.  ... Or forcing abortion clinics to close courtesy of outrageously unnecessary requirements such as physician admitting privileges to local hospitals.  The bastards in the Legislature as well as the Governor knew goddamned well these hospitals would cowardly refuse such admitting privileges not wanting the publicity, sadly forcing the clinics to close.  It's bullsh-t and a direct frontal assault on the constitutional right of a woman to do as she pleases with HER uterus.

"So when you send me cherry-picked material effectively supporting such denial of rights and many others, kindly forgive me for my lack of enthusiasm. If I remember correctly, it was Jefferson himself who was so pissed off at Christianity he tore his Bible up and published his own version.  Think the fact many of the Founders owned slaves is further evidence of this being a supposedly "Christian" nation?  Contrary to the material you sent, the Founders were of many different beliefs.  In some cases, none.

"Icons on the Supreme Court building itself are indeed representative of at least five fascists, sometimes all nine, who robustly, concertedly, determinedly, shamelessly legislate their perverse ideological and religious views from the bench.  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion.  'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

"While I indeed have no objection to icons on the walls of the Supreme Court or "In God We Trust" on our currency and coins, I strenuously object to the characterization of our formerly great country as a Christian Nation.  It is not.  Has not been.  Should never be.  Should it happen, would ultimately be no better than Islam in its intolerance, viciousness, and enslavement of the masses.

"A theocracy never works.  Never has.  Never will.  Is even failing in Israel.  While there has been no violence to date I'm aware of against Israelis strongly opposed to Netanyahu and his vicious policies vis a vis Gaza, those opposed have been repeatedly threatened.  Likely, just a matter of time until someone gets killed.

"Regarding a theocracy,  the First Amendment is quite clear:

"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "

"As you know the caps are mine and have been added for emphasis.  Notice it is the first phrase, not the last. -- Indicating how concerned the Founders were with our formerly great country becoming a Christian nation. Sadly, the Right can't seem to grasp this. Your beliefs and those of others who think like you are NOT the problem.  Rather, it is forcing those beliefs through outrageously unconstitutional laws and executive fiat that is.  Should this continue, the unwanted dreaded second American revolution already catastrophically looming on the horizon will indeed become reality.

"Despite the strength of your religious beliefs, I would strongly and respectfully suggest those beliefs have been bastardized by the corporate management suite and its bought and paid for lackeys in government to deliberately subjugate, control, manipulate, that is f--k, the bottom and middle class.  Class envy?  Hell, no.  Egregious class injustice in Nazi America.

"Respectfully suggest, as well, your time and effort would be far better spent fighting to change the system than imposing religion on those unwilling or who do not share your spiritual views.   Think many who think and believe as you do, will be quite surprised when the Creator at judgment challenges fervent Christians and their egregious concerted failure en mass to have forced desperately-needed change now in this life rather than wait for justice in the next.

"Too many of you have misinterpreted the true meaning of Christ's statement to render unto Caesar what's Caesar's and God's God's.  To ignore the injustice, abuse, corruption, ineptness, evil, etc.  IS unChristian.   So is denial of freedom FROM religion guarantied by the first phrase in the First Amendment.  What do you so fear, are so afraid of you remain so intractably determined to establish a state religion?

"Despite profound, conflicted,  indeed quite complicated feelings for you, can't remain silent, nor go along to get along.  There is too much at stake as our quickly deteriorating former great nation continues to nazify."

The name of this publication was changed some ten years ago from The Llano Ledger to Liberty In Peril.  The reason?  Simple.  Cowardly failure of this community to stand up to tyranny that has only exponentially worsened the last decade.  Clearly, demonstrated as well by the cowardly failure of businesses to financially support this publication.  Either through advertising or other financial support.  Too afraid doing so would enrage the bastards who run and own this hellhole County.

-- Despite the fact these businesses were, and are, being egregiously f--ked by these very same bastards.  Tough, isn't it?  Impossible to entertain any sympathy for cowardice, however.  Especially in view of the fact this writer has placed himself in great jeopardy taking on these corrupt, abusive, inept criminal bastards.  Alone.

Exactly, why you see no investigative material highly critical of these sons of bitches in other local rags.  Sadly, cowardly, all advertising income immediately dries up.  Consequently, the bastards continue their criminal chicanery with impunity.  On a rampage.  Thus, you get what you truly deserve.  Always.  Precisely, why this earlier name change to Liberty In Peril remains appropriate.  -- Despite the fact this writer has not yet left the area.  Ten years after originally intending to do so.  Thirty years in this goddamned godforsaken hellhole.

This writer, then and now, remains primarily interested in state, federal, and international issues.  Another reason for this publication name change.  Despite the fact I stupidly cluelessly remain here, local issues must be addressed.  Can't be ignored.  That's where you come in dear readers.  Have the courage to inform this writer of local abuse, corruption, ineptness you are aware of, have personally experienced.

... Information these criminal bastards do all they can to conceal, cover up.  Otherwise, how can they effectively sustain the charade and intended result?  Loot confiscation through a boot heel on the throat of the citizenry.

The only way, short of an unwanted dreaded second American revolution, to force badly-needed change is to expose all this to the light of day.  These bastards are beginning to understand they have a problem.  No question, the growing rage of those they've abused, looted, egregiously f--ked.  It's time to stand up.  Expose this corruption to glaring sunlight.  Otherwise, as fools, cowards, you will remain under their thumb.  From the loftiest business owner to those on the bottom of the food chain.  Wake up.  Grow a pair.

Still don't think that likely to happen.  After all, you're bought and paid for.  Owned.  Not only by your government masters, but their masters.  The corporate management suite.  Your employers.  Think not? Wake up.   You're human chattel.  Corporate-owned, bought and paid for.  Precisely, why you cowardly, compliantly literally bare your asses for corporate inspection by the company doctor.  Willingly, compliantly, cowardly piss in a cup under employer supervision.  To sit in front of a keyboard or stock shelves all day.  You have no control of your lives.  You're owned.  Forget?  For a measly salary, no job security, reduced to no benefits.  At a time of record corporate profits and cash reserves.

Then, you gallingly complain about the oppression as you tolerate egregious theft of your labor.  Not only by your corporate masters, but their bought and paid for government lackeys.  Too cowardly to stand up, allow disclosure of your identity when you rightfully complain to this publication of being mercilessly f--ked.  Some of you falsely arrested, criminally assaulted, bogusly fined for 'offenses' you did not commit.  To line County coffers.  Keep the peasants in line and under control.  A fascist police-state.  Nazi America.

Again, yet another reason why this publication is called Liberty In Peril.  Most galling?  Nothing changes if you fail to step up and challenge corrupt, abusive, inept authority.  Too afraid, cowardly compliant to let the bastards know who you are.  Did it ever occur to the cowards out there if the identity of the accuser is kept under wraps the bastards will falsely claim it's all made up by this publication?  Thus, conveniently killing all credibility.  Wake up.

Cowardice is unbecoming, unworthy of our formerly great country.  Insult to injury?  There are the hopelessly deranged who believe the chicanery reported here to be manufactured anyway.  No matter the effort.  No matter the research.  No matter the proof.  Wake up.  This writer cannot do it alone.  Snowball's chance in hell.  Then again, cowardice, delusion is always amply, justly rewarded.  Always.  You continue to 'enjoy' the very best government money can buy.  Literally.

JP2 Linda Ballard Recording

Click here for a most interesting conversation between JP2 Linda Ballard and LCRA Communications Supervisor Mitch Hibbs who at the time was investigating a complaint made by the Henderson family against the 'judge.'  The recording had been made by Hibbs and provided by Phyllis Henderson who had gotten it through an open records request.   During the course of the recording you will hear the 'judge' make a terroristic threat against the Henderson family which the investigator laughingly shrugged off as a joke.

Seems former LCRA Ranger Lance Bilski, stepson of Llano County Sheriff Bill Blackburn, had been harassing the Henderson family regarding their tire business, Henderson Tire.  Worse? There are unsubstantiated allegations, that although very much attached, Bilski may have indeed engaged in improprieties, that is, egregiously unprofessional conduct relevant to the Henderson complaint.  All this had been covered in Newsletter Text V346.

Publication of this material, however, should in no way be interpreted as endorsement of Ballard's opponent, Steve Lange, in the upcoming runoff.  It is not.  It is provided as a public service to expose the 'judge' for exactly whom and what she is.
