This publication has been in suspension since March 2003 for reasons explained on the Home Page.  Much has happened in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, since the last edition.  ... Sadly, most of it disturbing.  Much of it achingly heartbreaking.

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

The following was received from JP2 candidate Shelly Comerford 2-1-14.  It has been posted in its entirety with no editing.  Equal treatment is offered to the three other candidates as well as to any other candidate in Burnet or Llano Counties running for office.  TC 2-7-14

                                                                            Candidate Speech-Embezzlement Issue

Good Morning.  My name is Shelly Comerford & I am also running for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2.  I was looking forward to telling the voters of Tow who I am, what I stand for and what I believe.  Unfortunately, this morning, I need to address an issue that has gone far beyond the pale of mudslinging and address the false rumor that is circulating throughout the community.

When I first heard the rumor that I was going to be arrested for embezzlement, I dismissed it because it was so ridiculous.  Unfortunately, it has snowballed into people talking about it as if it were fact.  In today’s world, you can sue anyone for anything and you can file a complaint on anyone and ruin them without a shred of evidence to back it up.  This is dirty politics at its finest.  And why do candidates for office do it?  BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!

I have brought with me today the offense narrative taken by Deputy Wolfe on November 22nd at the Buchanan Dam Annex.  It states that Jerry Sharrock and Pamela Starke, the auditor, told him of substantial embezzlement and forgeries relating to Dent-Ex during the period of May – July 2013.  I confirmed with the District Attorney yesterday that no one has presented an investigation to his office.  I also confirmed with the Sheriff’s office that there is no investigation and no arrest warrant.  In fact, the investigator told me when I spoke to him, and I quote, “There was a report filed, but I can’t tell you when or if there will be an investigation on this report.”  Because these charges fall far outside any conceivable jurisdiction a JP has, the proper procedure during an election, would have been for the complainant to be directed to either the Sheriff’s Office or the District Attorney’s office.  Instead, a phone call was made from the BD Annex to have a deputy come to the Annex to take the report.  I have brought with me two sworn statements of witnesses who were told by Pamela Starke, after she completed the audit, that I did not take one red dime.  The other statement I have with me states that he was present when Pamela told Jerry, “Shelly didn’t take a dime.  Every penny is accounted for.”

To add insult to injury, I have received phone calls from friends telling me that Linda Ballard approached them and told them I was going to be arrested for embezzlement.

Bank statements don’t lie and these charges are completely bogus.  I put my phone number on every sign and piece of campaign literature so people could contact me with any questions they have. I’m more than willing to discuss this matter further with a group or on a one-on-one basis.  If I had committed these acts, do you really believe that I would run for office and used “Honesty, Integrity & Justice” as my campaign slogan?  Talk to people who know me and you will find that I am honest to a fault and would never take anything from anyone.  Talk to those who know Jerry Sharrock and see what his reputation is.  Then decide who you will believe.

So now it will be left up to you, the voters, to decide if dirty politics will determine this election or if you will vote for the candidate you believe would best fulfill the duties of the JP office.  I printed what I was originally going to say which includes my qualifications for the JP position and it’s on the table with my brochures. God Bless you all and thank you for coming out today.  I am truly sorry that it had to come to this.  I’ll be here after the forum to answer any of your questions.

Shelly Comerford
Candidate JP2

Publisher's Note:  Ms. Comerford provided this publication, along with the above earlier, three notarized witness statements this morning in support of her innocence, received too late for posting this week.  This publication is also in possession of the bogus Sheriff's Office complainant forms.  She has promised additional information.  Far more to come as this publication considers and posts much of this material.  TC 2-9-14

Hypocrisy reigns supreme.  "Don't do as I do, do as I say."  Seems the State Department has its shorts in a wad over a leaked cell phone conversation between an Assistant Secretary of State and the U.S. Ambassador to the Ukraine.  Our government is blaming the Russians.  Who'd 'a 'thunk' it, no?  Seems, though, the 'leadership' in Washington has conveniently forgotten recent NSA spying on the Brazilian President and German Chancellor.  ... Guess the President of the United States truly thinks it's okay for NSA to do so, but not the Russians or any other foreign power.

Amusingly, the Assistant Secretary of State was recorded using some truly salty language quite offensive to many stuffed shirts both here and abroad. Comically, may have been quite appropriate, however, during what she indeed falsely believed to be a private conversation with a colleague.  Quite embarrassing, though, when it quickly goes viral across not only the diplomatic community, but throughout the world.  Tough, isn't it?

While she lost little time apologizing to the European community, interestingly, she did not apologize per se for the language itself.  Good for her.  None of her male colleagues would have done so.  Why should she?  Without question, there are truly times when only the F bomb will do.  Without question.

... What did she say?  -- Inquiring minds want to know?  ... Are you sure?  -- Really sure?  ... Really, really sure?  -- Really, really, really sure?
Well, all right.  For those of you so easily offended?  Fragile?  Cover your eyes.  ... Don't peek, now.  Promise?  Get ready.  ... Still sure you want to know?  ... One last chance...  ... Maybe I shouldn't...  ... Oh, what the hell.

"F--k EU!" (European Union), pointedly exclaimed the Assistant Secretary of State.  Can only respond, you....go....girl.  Indeed, three cheers.  -- One last thought, Madam.  Should you receive any further criticism, let 'em know in no uncertain terms what they can do to themselves.  Promise?

Like Snowden, the F bomb is a gift that truly keeps on giving.  Back in the Stone Age when this writer attended graduate school, he made a few dollars substitute teaching at the secondary level in a number of school systems.  ... When I say a "few dollars" that was no joke, -- literally, the pay.  Depending on the school, approximately $20 per diem.  Sometimes, less.  ... Remember?  I said Stone Age.  -- Adjusted for inflation, not much better today from what I understand.

For that indeed grandest of the grand levels of compensation, substitutes, as all teachers at the time, tolerated an incredible amount of bull, abuse, lack of parental and administration support, etc. within urban schools.  Some things never change, do they?  Once in awhile, however, memorable moments occurred that, for at least a short time, made it all seem worthwhile.

Can remember sitting in the teachers' lounge one day during a "Plan" period.  The principal walked in with a handful of printer paper.  Seems one of the teachers had run off copies of nearly one hundred different but accurate definitions of the F bomb.  Worse?  Had passed them around to staff.  Not surprisingly and truly reflecting reality, nearly all had absolutely nothing to do with the sex act itself.  Amusingly, the material was a remarkably scholarly treatise.  Quite accurate, in fact.  A linguistic masterpiece.  Could have been published.  Extremely educational.  A significant amount of time had been spent in the endeavor.  Creativity, initiative at its very best.  It had not, and would not, been passed out to students under any circumstances.  Despite the fact most kids know far more about this kind of thing than teachers or parents.

Readers should remember this was well before the day of political correctness, as currently the case now when such activity usually results in someone being fired.  Subsequently, quickly investigated by the district attorney.  To say nothing of a federal case by a U.S. attorney due to federal funding issues.   Back then, it got no more than exactly what it truly deserved,  a laugh.  ... Even the principal, despite desperately trying to do his job, couldn't help cracking a smile as the rest of us stifled an uproar.  Those days, sadly, long since gone.

In the interest of comic relief from all current pressing issues truly devastating our formerly great country, if any of you have similar amusing material kindly furnish it to this publication.  Will provide attribution if desired, -- or, anonymity as requested.
