Liberty In Peril

The Llano Ledger

This publication has been in suspension since March 2003 for reasons explained on the Home Page.  Much has happened in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, since the last edition.  ... Sadly, most of it disturbing.  Much of it achingly heartbreaking.

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (5-7-13).

For new readers:  Fascism, nazism, national socialism defined as the pernicious blend of government, business, and religion. 'Justified' by perversion and bastardization of the latter.

President, increasingly desperate.  Legacy at stake.  Presides over a country coming apart at the seams.  Rife with division.  Strife, ubiquitous.  Polarization, at record levels.  Approval rating, tanking.  Credibility, precipitously dropping.  ... A far cry from those heady days after defeating McCain in 2008.

While some of the President's problems can indeed be blamed on Republican stonewalling of nearly every, if not all initiatives, it's time for the Chief Executive to take responsibility for his egregious failure of leadership.  Worse?  His loss of all credibility when he falsely assured the public, vis a vis Obamacare, they could keep their insurance and healthcare providers.

Either deliberately lied, or more likely, simply was not informed.  -- His initiative, signature 'achievement.'  To date, appears a massive failure.  Assured the public the exchanges would be adequately operational "for most people" by  end of November.  It's now December.  -- Not only is the front end of the website a continuing disaster.  ... The back end as well, that is, accurate and proper forwarding of policyholder information to the insurance industry.  Can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with BS, right, Mr. President?

... Seems the U.S. had been in secret negotiations with Iran for some time regarding uranium enrichment.  Much to the chagrin of Israel, France, and other allies.  Blindsided by the President.  Tough, no?  Indeed, foibles of diplomacy, -- conducted by a super power enthralled with itself.  Led by a President faltering in the polls, desperately concerned with legacy and a favorable view by history.

The Israeli Prime Minister certainly has his shorts in a wad over the agreement reached in secret between Iran and the United States.  Considers it a threat to Israeli security.  Is that right?  What's wrong with this picture?  Let's review.

In 1948, the founders of Israel seized, that is stole Palestinian territory using modern terroristic tactics they brilliantly developed and implemented.  With the blessing of the United States, UN, and Europe.  Have been stealing additional territory and abusing Palestinians ever since.

Mr. Prime Minister?  Don't you think this ongoing activity since 1948 remains the true exigent long-term threat to Israeli security?  Is this why Israel has refused for decades to comment or acknowledge possession of a purported nuclear arsenal provided by its U.S. benefactor, or more likely, designed and produced by Israeli scientists and engineers?

Don't you think its high time for Israel to come clean?  Allow weapons inspectors access to alleged Israeli nuclear facilities?  Is that why you so predictably, consistently raise hell vis a vis Iranian uranium enrichment?  To draw attention away from Israeli duplicity? Hypocrisy?

Fourteen nations reportedly are enriching uranium.  Bet there aren't more?  ... Especially, after the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses?  ... As well as 12 years and counting of American killing of thousands of innocent civilians in Afghanistan?  ... To say nothing of Pakistan? Think there aren't other countries in the region not enriching uranium? Even those currently friendly?  Sadly, they don't know who's next.  That is, the next target of the United States. From their perspective, still can't understand why they don't trust us?

Amusingly, the President of the United States faces formidable obstacles implementing his new agreement with Iran. Certainly, does not have support of Israel, other countries, or even many Democrats and Republicans in Congress. Stunning, isn't it?  Most, if not all political  capital gone.

All this still misses the point, however.  The President repeatedly claims he will not allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon.  While no one wants anyone to have or develop nuclear weaponry or other weapons of mass destruction, who is the President to dictate to a foreign country what weapons it can and cannot have?

National sovereignty?  The President apparently believes it applies only to the United States. Or, others with substantial military power.  For some reason, apparently God-given, our formerly great country gets to dictate to all others what we think right and proper.  Along with our allies and the UN.  Remarkable, isn't it?  Might makes right. Indeed. Nazi America.

Credit must be given when due.  Finally, the President has shown some leadership.  Indeed, boldness.  ... In stark contrast to his appalling cowardly performance vis a vis Egypt, Libya, and Syria.  Today, 11-26-13, two unarmed unescorted American B-52s flew into a new, egregiously bogus air defense identification zone announced by China three days earlier.

Without filing a required flight plan or making radio contact.  Over islands claimed by Japan, an ally. The Chinese wisely took no action.  Hope the President adequately saw to it both warplanes on routine training missions were indeed protected had the Chinese not been quite so restrained.  Despite the risk, this is exactly the rightful function of American power.  Unlike what we've seen in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, elsewhere.

... Apparently, the President's recent boldness was too good to be true.  Today, 11-30-13, the State Department is advising commercial air carriers to follow new Chinese directives.  -- While continuing to defy the very same by repeatedly flying U.S. military aircraft through the area, insisting we don't recognize Chinese authority.

At best, this sends an undecidedly mixed message.  At worst, it demonstrates a cowardly President talking out both sides his ass.  Which is it, Mr. President?  -- This, from a Chief Executive who has been shifting military assets to the area for some time, insisting the U.S. will continue to project power there.  Is that definitive, Mr. President?

Apparently, the Chinese didn't get the message, chose to ignore it, -- or, miscalculated.  Worst of all?  May very well be the President's vacillation that led to the aggressive Chinese move a week ago, asserting new authority over the air corridor.  Followed up by fighter patrol.  -- After extreme social media pressure from young Chinese dissatisfied with lack of enforcement by the Chinese government, that is, "loss of face" concerns.

All this resultant miscalculation, likely a result of the President's  egregious cowardly failure to effectively deal with recent crises in Egypt, Libya, and Syria.  ... While continuing to kill innocent civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and elsewhere vis a vis drones.

To say nothing of the widening NSA debacle, growing Obamacare roll out failure, criticism from so many both domestic and foreign vis a vis the agreement reached by the U.S. and Iran regarding uranium enrichment, gridlock in Washington, etc..  Sadly, the list can go on and on.  Has to be terribly frustrating for the President.  Legacy at stake.
... Leading to one exceptionally poignant question:  Why would anyone want to be President?

Walmart.  Number one retailer.  Colossal sales.  Nearly limitless profits.  How? How else?  The old fashioned way.  Off the backs of "associates."  -- Euphemism for indentured servants, that is, bought and paid for human chattel it reserves the right to use and abuse as it sees fit.  Hyperbole?

Wake up.  ... Stupidity, unbecoming.  Ole' Sam Walton, spinning in his grave.  Wouldn't recognize the company he founded.  Why?  Many, many reasons.  Latest?  Employees so poorly paid they're organizing food drives. Number one retailer.

Many, deliberately limited to part time status, that is, 35 hours or less.  To avoid paying full time benefits.  Enrich corporate coffers.  Engorge shareholders' pockets.  While both laugh their ass off all the way to the bank.  Give thanks each Sunday on bended knee to the Lord, -- for their good fortune.

Class envy?  Hell, no.  Egregious class injustice in Nazi America.  Insult to injury?  Can you believe a fast food chain advised poorly-paid employees to extend food by cutting it into smaller pieces, eating more slowly to ameliorate pangs of hunger?  Reportedly, McDonalds.

Food stamps are no longer reserved for the poor.  Extend to the middle class.  Courtesy of the financial depression we now live in.  Triggered by bottomless greed of the business community.  -- They sit on record cash reserves, yet, refuse to hire, increase prices on products and services sold.

How long do they reasonably expect this insanity to continue?  A point will come when no one has the money to purchase these products and services.  Clear to all but the hopelessly ignorant corporate management suite, this business model remains unsustainable.

Yet, despite all the suffering, lack of jobs, non-livable wages paid, approximately $5 billion was stripped from food stamps November 1 when stimulus funding expired.  Fascists in both major political parties intend to strip an additional $30-40 billion in years to come.

Food banks?  Already overstretched.  Private sector, including charities, can't handle current load.  To say nothing of what's coming, -- additional cuts in SNAP.  Doesn't matter to federal legislators, both parties.  -- These, the very same fascist bastards who draw the better part of $200K in annual salary.  Perqs, courtesy of looted taxpayers?
... Platinum healthcare alone?  At last check, some $9,000 annually.  Hypocrisy? Galling.  Hear the rumble?

Bottom line?  Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged national socialists in both parties wish the hungry to grow hungrier.  As the bastards and their corporate masters laugh their financially-portly asses off all the way to the bank.  Again, after properly giving thanks to the Lord each Sunday on bended knee.  For their good fortune.  Nazis.  Still can't hear the rumble?

... Why is this indeed indentured servitude? Wake up.  Government and its corporate masters refuse to mandate a livable wage.  Want no part of it.  How else can they so greedily line their pockets? How?  Don't earn it. Steal it.  At expense, off the backs of employees and consumers. The American Way.

Not an issue of Left-Right ideology, however.  Rather, a matter of unbridled greed.  Both parties, as well as big business .  Bottom line?  Any business who can't or won't pay a livable wage does not deserve to survive.  Big business gets away with this all the time.  Gets bailed out.  Too big to fail.

Not so, small business.  Where owners work 24/7.  Last to be paid.  Sometimes, not at all.  Especially, in this economy. Yet, do not enjoy special treatment afforded, accorded, mega corporations such as Walmart.  This must change. Or, the bedrock of commerce, the small business community, will no longer exist.  At least, as we knew it.  Worse? Income disparity between top and bottom stretches to the point an unwanted dreaded second American revolution becomes inevitable.
