House Passes Anti-Surge Resolution February 16, 2007
After
days of debate, the U.S.
House finally passed an anti-surge resolution as expected.
Seventeen
Republicans defected from the "President," -- the vote
246-182. The
resolution remains stalled in the Senate. House Democrats
will now
target pending funding requests for the surge, claiming the resolution
is only the first step in our withdrawal from Iraq.
In an apparent effort to generate public support for an attack against Iran, the "President" and his "Administration" have been cleverly attempting to manipulate the public into believing Iran is a direct "threat" to the United States. Earlier in the week, U.S. government officials accused the Iranian government of supplying sophisticated weapons to insurgents in Iraq, claiming to have "evidence."
At a press conference earlier today, however, Mr. Bush contradicted them, claiming Iranian leaders may not have known of the activity supposedly conducted by the Iranian QUDS Force. Fascinating, isn't it?
Also,
American officials have
stated Iraqi militia leader al-Sadr fled to Iran to avoid "surge"
activities
by American and Iraqi forces. How do they know?
Al-Sadr has
been gone the last three weeks, supposedly on a visit to family
members.
Also, there has been speculation the militia leader, his men, and other
insurgents have gone underground to re-group and wait out the
"surge."
Regardless, before American officials engage in false propaganda
activity
they should be absolutely sure of their "facts." ...
Otherwise, U.S.
credibility continues to tank.
Russian President Vladimir Putin certainly has the amusing ability to easily irritate "President" Bush at will. Mr. Putin has not been particularly happy about "Administration" activity in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. Pointedly, he accused the United States of overstepping its borders. Sadly, he's right. Also claimed the U.S. was creating insecurity in the world. Again, no question. Chastised America for "reckless use of force." Again, the Russian President was sadly right on target.
"Rendition" of "detainees" by CIA goons to countries where they're tortured is indeed an ongoing problem. So is ongoing abuse and torture of "enemy combatants" in gulags run by the U.S. military. To say nothing of the ongoing killing in Iraq, -- a war launched under false pretenses. Before Putin is criticized as a dictator, however, we had better take a close look at what is currently going on in our formerly great country.
After
thorough investigation,
the Inspector General found Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith
deliberately
manipulated intelligence data to "justify" the "President's" invasion
of
Iraq. Inexplicably, the government continues to maintain no
laws
were broken. Fraud is apparently now legal in our formerly
great
country, -- as long as you're a government official. Over
three thousand
killed in action and well over twenty thousand maimed under false
pretenses,
and yet, no laws were broken. Nazi America.
Five
American helicopters have
been shot down in Iraq in the last three weeks. Although
military
authorities have been slow to confirm these losses due to enemy ground
fire, U.S. commanders have finally declared the obvious. --
Difficult
not to do so when video shows rocket contrails leading to the doomed
aircraft.
