Saddam Executed December 30, 2006
Saddam Hussein was hanged early this morning by Iraqi authorities. "President" Bush hailed the execution as a "milestone" for Iraq's fledgling "democracy." Is that so, George?
Since when is state-sponsored murder, no more than a blatant act of vengeance at best, an indication of justice in a healthy democracy? Fledgling or not? Mr. Bush disingenuously took pains days before the hanging to falsely state the execution was at the behest of the Iraqis and not the United States. Once again, the "President" lied.
First, readers are reminded Bush launched the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses to remove an admittedly brutal dictator from power. By what divine right? The non-existent "right" of a blatantly fascist "President" to topple foreign governments by whim? Any time, anywhere he chooses?
Second, despite elections, the Iraq government was set up, created by the United States. -- To supposedly be a force for "positive" change in the Middle East. Translation? To do the will of the Bush "Administration." Be at its beck and call. Bush and his henchmen clearly wanted Saddam killed. They got their wish.
... Despite hypocritically giving the admittedly brutal dictator the option to safely flee his country and seek safe haven elsewhere before the invasion. An invasion deliberately launched under false pretenses. For political reasons ultimately having nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction.
Apparently, Bush got exactly the false "evidence" he and his henchmen desperately wanted from the "intelligence" community. -- An "intelligence" community that was reportedly cleverly manipulated by Bush and the boys. Convenient, isn't it? Investigations launched by the incoming Democratically-controlled Congress should shed unwanted light and some semblance of truth.
Third, the tribunal created to "try" Saddam was set up by the United States. The "court" was no more than a kangaroo rubber stamp cleverly designed to "convict" and kill the former admittedly brutal dictator. ... Who had the unspeakable, unforgivable audacity to defy the fascist occupying the Oval Office. -- Precisely, why he was executed. Not for "crimes against humanity" and the reported 300,000 Iraqis killed by Saddam.
American and Iraqi authorities couldn't, or wouldn't, even protect the dictator's attorneys. At least three were killed during the "trial." Both governments were in such a rush to kill the bastard they executed him before the second "trial" was over. With Saddam dead, there will be no further investigations, no further interrogation, no inconvenient embarrassing questions to be asked, -- or worse yet, answered.
Regarding Saddam's barbaric killing of some 300,000 Iraqis, think the "President" of the United States wouldn't do the same to defeat insurrection or any substantive challenge to his power here? Or worse, kill millions if a full-blown revolution were ever attempted? Not use the full force of the United States military against its own citizens? If not, there's a bridge in Brooklyn up for sale...
Just as importantly, what about the "crimes against humanity" committed by the "President" consequent to his invasion of Iraq under false pretenses? Not only have 3,000 American military personnel been killed and over 22,000 maimed, tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis are dead. When will our Nazi "President" be held accountable?
Despite the abject amorality of the invasion and consequent loss of life, the government-sanctioned murder of Saddam stupidly throws gasoline on a raging inferno. Will only foolishly inspire more killing, more maiming, more insurgency. Then again, wouldn't want to confuse anyone with the truth, would we?
Unlike his cowardly behavior at the time of capture by American troops, Saddam's demeanor at the gallows was strikingly different. Defiant to the end, he refused a hood, -- unlike his cowardly ski-masked guards. Executioners, too cowardly to unmask their faces, taunted the former dictator who responded in kind.
Sadly, American news networks censored execution video tapes released by the Iraqis. Why? Where is the outrage of the Fascist Right? Clearly, they believe in state-sponsored murders of guilty defendants, yet, don't want the American people to view such a supposedly "beneficial," "productive," "just," instrument of the "justice" system? The hypocrisy is stunning. What's the matter, boys? Fear the aggressively stupid public would turn against capital punishment if able to view it? Not to worry. -- They're too damned stupid.
Parts of the video-taped execution were released to the Iraqi public. Aggressively stupid. Why? He died the martyr he desperately wished to be remembered as. ... Despite the fact the killing occurred under the cover of night, the casket loaded on a pickup and rushed to his hometown. ... 'Ain't' cowardice grand? Sadly, amusing? Then again, wouldn't want to confuse anyone with the truth, would we?
The European community quite correctly labeled the execution barbaric. Sadly, they're right. Then again, "President" Bush had to get his pound of flesh. Like Lady Macbeth, can't wash all the blood off his hands. Yet, the "Christian" fascist and his defenders remain clueless. Not only was the execution barbaric and cowardly, it was hypocritical. ... Don't do as I do, do as I say. Then again, in Nazi America, day is night, night is day, and manure smells perversely sweet.
President Gerald Ford, 93, died at his Palm Desert, CA home earlier today. Mr. Ford is hailed as a hero, -- who supposedly "brought the country together" after the resignation of President Nixon in disgrace in 1974. Sadly, the legacy of President Ford is far more complicated and troubling than that. While it is hopelessly ill-mannered to speak negatively of the dead, the public perception of Mr. Ford is quite convoluted and misinformed.
First, he did not heroically "bring the nation together." He quite lawfully, legally, and constitutionally pardoned his predecessor, Richard Nixon, a highly corrupt and abusive criminal. Mr. Ford indeed had every right to do so. Doing so, however, allowed a criminal to escape justice.
Second, and worse, it clearly and definitively established a well-known fact: there are two systems of "justice" in our formerly great country. One for the rich and powerful. The other for the rest of us.
President Ford disingenuously, dishonestly, and falsely claimed he was sparing the country the rigors of prosecution of a former president. Is that right? Dissension, discord, controversy, etc., however, are exactly what a democratic republic is all about. ... Or should be.
Who was Ford trying to "protect?" The people of the United States against themselves? Or a corrupt and abusive bastard and his party? At least a few of us could see the forest for the trees and refused to return Ford to office during the 1976 election.
... An extremely close election that sent an unlikely peanut farmer from Plains, Georgia to the White House. Had Ford not pardoned his criminal predecessor, it is highly probable President Carter would never have received national notice and attained the highest office of the land.
Regardless, history will sadly show the pardon of Nixon by Ford to be another nail in the coffin of civil and constitutional rights and liberties that began with Mr. Nixon's Administration January 20, 1969. Tragically, the aggressively stupid American public remains clueless, preferring to hold Mr. Ford in high regard, -- when the bastard in reality contributed to the demise of our once great nation. ... At least as we knew it. ... Sadly, one bastard pardoning another.
It is time for the Constitution of the United States to be amended to allow for pardons only after the accused have gone through the criminal justice system. After all appeals are exhausted. To do less is to ensure there will always be two systems of "justice." After all, we have no kings, emperors, or dictators, do we? ... Or do we?
Consequences of the Nixon pardon are profound. Every president since then had, and has, carte blanche. Can do as they please with no real accountability. Worst that can happen? Be forced to resign in disgrace, -- with full retirement benefits in the millions courtesy of taxpayers. No criminal culpability.
With time, even hope for redemption as did Nixon prior to his death. After all, the aggressively stupid public has extreme short-term memory, is incredibly malleable, and easily capable of distorting and convoluting reality. -- Indeed, a sad, sad commentary on the perverse body politic.
Exactly why, as well, the fascist currently occupying the Oval Office has boldly eviscerated the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments. Has authorized warrantless NSA domestic spying. Enabled the abuse of prisoners of war in Iraq, in foreign American gulags run by the CIA, and at Guantanamo Bay.
Has indefinitely imprisoned "detainees," including American citizens, with no access to the courts and attorneys. After all, the corrupt and abusive bastard knows the aggressively stupid public will cowardly tolerate anything in the name of "national security." At worst, Bush could indeed be forced to resign in disgrace, living happily ever after with little to no chance of criminal prosecution. ... The precedent already firmly set by Ford's pardon of Nixon. Nazi America.
To his credit, President Ford always championed his wife Betty and her right to forcefully express her views. Mrs. Ford strongly supported women's rights, including the right to abortion and the Equal Rights Amendment. ... A failed amendment due to tireless convoluted efforts of the Fascist Right to successfully defeat it.
Also, Ford's was the last moderate Republican administration, -- thirty years ago. Amusingly, Ford must seem like a communist to the fascist currently occupying the White House. With Ford's passing, The Washington Post released a 2004 Bob Woodward interview interestingly indicating the late President was against the Iraq invasion.
Interestingly,
he also opposed
warrantless NSA domestic spying and GOP embrace of the Fascist Right,
including
the evisceration of abortion rights. Too bad he didn't have
the courage
to forcefully express those views while still alive. Despite
the
Nixon pardon, President Ford will be missed.
