This publication has been in suspension since March 2003 for reasons fully explained on the Home Page.  Much has happened in the United States, as well as the rest of the world, since the last edition.  ... Sadly, most of it disturbing.  Until return to online publication, the format will remain as follows.    T.C. December 11, 2006

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (12-11-06).

House Protects Itself In Foley Fiasco December 8, 2006

There will be no discipline of the House leadership in the Foley page fiasco.  This, despite the fact Speaker Hastert and others knew of former Cong. Foley's improper activity vis a vis House pages.  The bi-partisan Ethics Committee, however, claims no House rules were broken.  Convenient, isn't it?

Think about it, dear readers. NBC Dateline repeatedly entraps adult child sex predators with compliant police back up.  Repeatedly, does so, airing the results of highly constitutionally questionable traps set up across the nation.

Yet, Congress cannot police itself?  Attempted, improper, criminal, child-adult sex activity is clearly and conveniently ignored by Congress when it involves one of their own.  'Ain't' hypocrisy grand?

Sadly, Congress sets two standards of behavior for our formerly great country.  One for itself,
-- the other for the rest of us.  Clearly, why no one in the congressional leadership has been held accountable for doing nothing about Foley long before the scandal broke.  ... Despite the fact the leadership knew at the very least months, if not years before, of the disgraced congressman's predilections.

While entrapment programs apparently make great entertainment for our aggressively stupid population, they do not prevent sexual abuse of our children.  Clearly, the perversely ill bastards still keep coming forward to the traps.

There is a far greater principle involved here, however.  The breakdown and abrogation of civil and constitutional rights and liberties, not only falsely in the name of national "security," but also in the criminal "justice" system that tolerates and even callously enables this egregious loss.

These rights are meant for everyone, -- whether guilty or innocent.  In fact, designed by the Founders to protect the innocent against tyrannical government.  We have cowardly, stupidly, and perilously forgotten this.

Sadly, in Nazi America, entrapment is no longer entrapment.  Also, day is night, night is day, and manure smells perversely sweet.  Everything is ass backwards and opposite of what one would reasonably expect.

Iraq Study Group Report  December 6, 2006

The "independent" congressional Iraq Study Group finally released its report, warning the "President" and the nation of the "grave and deteriorating" situation in Iraq.  Interestingly, 79 recommendations were made, most of which will likely be ignored by Mr. Bush and his henchmen.

Sadly, the "findings" of the ten-member group are too little, too late.  -- Might have had a far better chance of implementation and success three and a half years ago immediately after the ill-conceived invasion under patently false pretenses.

Regardless, the group was determinedly non-partisan and did the best it could under the circumstances.  They confirmed the obvious.  There is no security, and basic services are nearly non-existent in Iraq.  Some $400 billion has already been squandered with a total cost estimated to be $1-2 trillion over the long-term.

Three major recommendations for change were articulated.  First, change in the primary mission of U.S. forces from combat to support.  Second, prompt action by Iraqis to achieve milestones set by the United States.  Third, enhanced diplomatic activity in Iraq and the region.

The group of elder statesmen wants American troops to be temporarily embedded with Iraqi forces, -- despite the increased risk to our men and women of being targeted, killed, maimed, and/or captured by insurgents.  There is, however, to be no open-ended commitment and all combat forces would be hopefully withdrawn by the first quarter of 2008.  If conditions warrant, of course.

There would also be economic and military repercussions to the Iraqis if they don't make progress.  Group Co-Chair James Baker strongly asserts there is "no magic bullet."  The effort may in fact be too late according to the Group.  Group Co-Chair Lee Hamilton went on to say he didn't "know if the situation in Iraq can be turned around."  Fascinating, isn't it?

According to the Group, conditions in Iraq are "dire" and "grave."  Be interesting to see how many of the recommendations will be quickly implemented by the "President."  Withdrawal of troops will indeed be a stumbling block for the fascist occupying the Oval Office and his henchmen.  So will negotiations with Syria and Iran over the Iraq War.

In addition, the Group has wisely called for renewed direct involvement by the U.S. in diplomatic activity to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  -- Sadly, the root cause of the exponential increase in terrorism foolishly ignored by the "President" and his minions for years, as well as most of his predecessors with the exception of Clinton.

Gates Confirmed  December 6, 2006

Bob Gates was confirmed by the Senate, 95-2, as Secretary of Defense.  ... With two Republicans voting against him.  Interestingly, there was no debate when the nomination was unanimously passed on to the full Senate.  -- Despite the fact Gates had been accused of stonewalling Iran-Contra nearly twenty years ago.

Conveniently, had never been fully investigated for his involvement in the fiasco or held accountable.  Now, he'll be the "President's" stooge in the Pentagon.  Accountability is usually reserved for the unwashed masses, clearly not those in power.  Ole' Bob is proof positive.

Laughably, Mr. Gates was confirmed despite the fact he ludicrously talks out both sides of his mouth.  Funniest example?  When asked whether or not we're winning the war, he honestly and candidly responded we're not winning.  -- Then later followed up with the qualifier we're not losing either.

Comforting, isn't it?  Clearly ole' Bobby Boy is just the kind of shill so desperately needed by the "President."  There will be no true change in Iraq until Congress forces the issue and cuts off all funding for the debacle.  Care to bet Republicans will join Democrats to do so?

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
