Working
definition of fascism
for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a
pernicious
blend of government, big business, and religion. ... A boot-heel
cynically
placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by
perversion
and bastardization of religion.

Saddam Convicted November 5, 2006
Surprise, surprise. Saddam was convicted and sentenced to hang by an Iraqi court earlier this morning. No question, the former dictator was one of the cruelest and most brutally barbaric of all time.
His conviction and pending execution raise numerous questions, however. So does the timing. Why the announcement two days before critical American midterms, -- where Republicans stand to get their asses kicked at the polls?
More importantly, the Saddam tribunal was set up by the American government. American authorities apparently quietly orchestrated the proceedings. The trial occurred while Iraq is still under occupation by American troops. Why the rush to judgment? A question asked by Iraqis themselves.
Not clear whether the conviction will inspire even more violence and retribution against American troops and innocent Iraqi citizens. -- Although Saddam supporters are promising just that.
Amazing,
isn't it, how the "President"
and his equally fascist henchmen are hailing the "conviction," however,
after earlier "generously" giving the admittedly brutal former dictator
an opportunity to flee shortly before the American invasion? ...
Deliberately
launched under false pretenses by our "Commander In Chief."
Then
again, this is Nazi America. Where day is
night, night is
day, and manure smells perversely sweet.
Hard to believe, no? An already extremely contentious election has grown nastier. Where's Speaker Hastert? Still hiding due to unanswered questions regarding his knowledge of disgraced Cong. Foley's page activities, -- and when and what he knew of them.
National Association of Evangelicals president and Colorado Springs New Life Church senior pastor Ted Haggard was forced to resign in disgrace. -- After being outed by gay escort Mike Jones. Seems Jones and Haggard had an intimate relationship that lasted some three years.
After claiming he didn't know Jones, Haggard was forced to admit he bought some meth from the escort and received a massage. Touching, isn't it? Jones, however, claims the relationship went much further and decided to out the pastor for his hypocrisy. ... Considerate, no? Backed into a corner, Haggard finally admitted in a letter to church elders he indeed had engaged in "sexual immorality." Again, touching, isn't it? 'Ain't' hypocrisy grand?
Haggard was a staunch defender of conventional marriage and opposed gay rights. -- While apparently switch-hitting with Jones. ... What webs we weave? Regardless, the dear old pastor was a prominent figure in the evangelical movement and frequent visitor to the Bush White House.
The Army Times, Marine Times, Air Force Times, and Navy Times intend to run editorials tomorrow calling for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's resignation. ... After the "President" claimed earlier this week he expects and wants Rummy and Cheney to remain in his "Administration" until the end of his term. ... Again, touching, isn't it?
Convicted Republican Cong. Bob Ney quietly resigned from Congress earlier this week. ... After the GOP House leadership made it quite clear they would expel him. To say nothing of the earlier resignation and imprisonment of Republican Cong. Cunningham.
What about indicted former "Slick Dick" Cheney Chief of Staff Scooter Libber? Without question, the Bush "Administration" is the most corrupt since Richard Nixon. To say nothing of the Republican-controlled Congress vis a vis the Abramoff fiasco. Then again, wouldn't want to confuse the Fascist Right with the truth, no?
At the time of this writing, seems Democrats will re-take the House and may also capture the Senate. Sadly, with little to no difference between both major political parties, however, can only wonder what will truly change should that happen.

To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been
received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint
