Deep In-Fighting In Bush "Administration" September 29, 2006
In a new book titled State Of Denial, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward of Watergate fame claims there is deep in-fighting in the Bush "Administration." Amusingly so bad the "President" had to supposedly order Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to return phone calls of then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Tough, isn't it? Nothing quite like trouble in paradise.
More ominously, Woodward claims Bush "Administration" officials ignored 2003 pleas by military brass for 40,000 more troops in Iraq. He also claims Bush is deliberately hiding the truth, -- and desperation of the situation there. -- Some 800-900 attacks weekly. ... So what else is new? Woodward also claims the "Administration" is classifying information to hide the truth. Again, what else is new?
Sadly, all have been common knowledge for years. Woodward's contentions come at a very untimely moment for the "President" and GOP, however. The former Watergate reporter has decades of earned credibility. His book will undoubtedly increase the level of extreme discomfort Republicans have been experiencing for quite some time as they've witnessed the debacles in Afghanistan and Iraq go from bad to worse.
House and Senate Republican and Democrat fascists passed the Bush terrorist bill. In the Senate 32 of 44 Democrats voted against it. The twelve who did and their Republican compadres should be given the boot from office. Final vote in the Senate was disgraceful, -- 65-34. In the House, approximately 20% of gutless Democrats went along.
"Detainees" will not receive access to the courts. No habeas corpus. Who's next? Anyone who disagrees or criticizes the Nazi occupying the Oval Office? Any U.S. citizen eventually? Without habeas corpus, the legislation is unconstitutional. The Founders must be spinning in their graves.
To his credit, Republican Sen. Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania proposed the habeas corpus amendment, -- only to be shot down by his outrageously fascist Republican and Democrat colleagues. He warned without habeas corpus the Senate would be revisiting the issue and rewriting the bill. He's right.
Unquestionably, pending midterms are having a demonstrably pernicious affect on Republican and Democrat "thinking." Both parties have capitulated and agreed to allow the "President" to do as he pleases regarding "interrogation" of "detainees." The level of cowardice has hit new lows in our formerly great country.
Torture has been redefined by "Administration" attorneys. Torture is no longer torture. Abuse is no longer abuse. -- No problem, right? After all, who cares what happens to "detainees"? Think again. Our enemies will use it as an excuse to redefine the Geneva Conventions. Our troops will suffer the consequences when captured.
With torture redefined by the Bush "Administration," "waterboarding" is no longer waterboarding. -- The "interrogation" "technique" where "detainees" are strapped upside down on a board, lowered into a bucket and made to believe they're about to be drowned. Beating, sleep deprivation for days, and being forced to stand for hours or in contorted positions chained to the floor are apparently permissible as well in the brave new world of the Nazis in the Bush "Administration."
So, apparently, is hypothermia. ... Deliberate chilling of prisoners, -- soaking them with ice water. The proposed law will limit severity, not the practice of abuse and torture of "detainees." Nazi America. ... Think our enemies will not do the same or worse to our forces when captured? Using their interpretation of the Geneva Conventions to "justify" doing so?
Our fascist "President" claims "interrogators" receive "useful" information from abusing and torturing prisoners. Mr. Bush is a liar. Seasoned interrogators have long since stated little to no useful information is obtained abusing and torturing prisoners. -- Torture victims tell "interrogators" only what they want to hear, seldom the truth.
The
terrorist bill will allow
Mr. Bush to interpret the Geneva Conventions as he pleases.
The "President"
will apparently be asked to "publish" "interrogation " "techniques" in
the Congressional Record so they may be subject to scrutiny by Congress
and the public. Already, the Bush "Administration" has
claimed it
is highly unlikely it will ever do so. "National security."
...
Convenient, isn't it?
A Catch-22 unparalleled in recent American history. Nazi
America.
The "agreement" made by Republican and Democrat fascists, falsely in the name of "national security," will apparently allow "detainees" to be denied access to "classified" "evidence" used against them during pending tribunals. Also, "testimony" elicited during torture and abuse will, apparently, be introduced at "trial." Kangaroo "justice" at its very worst. Nazi America.
Apparently, Sen. McCain has "forgotten" what he endured as a North Vietnamese prisoner of war for approximately six years decades ago. In addition, "interrogators" will apparently be protected against civil lawsuits by this legislation.
Worse, our enemies will be free to interpret the Geneva Conventions as they see fit. Our troops will bear the brunt when captured. Tough, isn't it? Obviously, Republican and Democrat fascists couldn't care less.
The Nazi bastard occupying the Oval Office has disingenuously condemned the supposed "vagueness" of the "outrages upon personal dignity" phrase of the Geneva Conventions. Sadly, the "President" knows precisely what it means. As do most, if not, all civilized people.
Mr.
Bush, however, disingenuously
pretends not to know because he and his henchmen
desperately wish
to torture and abuse "detainees" without fear of war crimes prosecution.
--
Apparently, how the fascist
occupying the Oval Office and his henchmen get their cookies
off.
A heinous abuse of power that should have long since resulted in the
"President's"
impeachment, conviction, removal from office, and prosecution for war
crimes.
"Administration"
officials including
the
"President" and "detainee" "interrogators" should be very careful about
traveling overseas when out of office. -- They may be subject
to
arrest and trial before war crimes tribunals.
On September 24, The Washington Post and New York Times published articles on a leaked April National Intelligence Estimate (NIE.) The document states the war in Iraq has resulted in an "increased threat of terrorism." Also, has served as a recruiting tool for terrorists. "Self-generating terrorist cells" also a result. The U.S. less safe since 9/11.
The above has been reported repeatedly in this publication the last three years. Now, 16 intelligence agencies have confirmed the obvious. The fascist occupying the Oval Office is angry the report was leaked. -- Bet he was. After all, the intelligence community is stating the direct opposite of what the "President" has been publicly claiming since the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses.
Desperate, Mr. Bush cherry-picked a forty-page classified document and de-classified approximately three and a half pages of it. Democrats are incensed and calling for all of it to be released to the public. The "President" has cowardly refused, -- falsely claiming intelligence analysts would not give candid assessments in the future. Mr. Bush is a liar. He's covering his sorry ass and that of his minions. ... Amusingly, the bloom is off the rose. Tough, isn't it?
Earlier last week, the President of Pakistan claimed he was informed by former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, shortly after 9/11, Pakistan would be bombed back to the Stone Age if it did not cooperate with the Bush "Administration." Armitage denies use of the specific language, but confirmed the message delivered was indeed strong. Interesting, isn't it? The "President" himself disingenuously immediately claimed not to have been aware of the threat. Is that right, George? ... Bluntly, the asshole doesn't know what the elbow is doing?
In
congressional hearings chaired
by Democrats, retired U.S. generals took turns skewering Secretary of
Defense
Donald Rumsfeld for poor management of the war in Iraq. Gen.
Batiste
claimed we created the insurgency. ... Couldn't be, could
it?
... Seems also Rumsfeld rejected several battle plans for Iraq because
they called for too many troops. -- As the world turns, no?
Former
President Clinton had a
field day on FOX Sunday morning. Finally, a Democrat has
aggressively
taken on the Fascist Right. FOX anchor Chris Wallace
graciously took
the barbs.
...
Amusingly, Mr. Clinton lost
his temper, -- after 15 years of being a target of the Fascist Right in
our formerly great country. Amazing it didn't occur much
earlier,
no?
For decades, Democrats have allowed the Nazi Right to set the agenda and impose their perverse principles on an exceptionally gullible and cowardly electorate. Finally, that appears to be changing as Democrats find their voice and are increasingly willing to take on Republican fascists. Bodes well for coming midterms.
Should
Democrats retake the House,
expect the remainder of the Bush "Administration" to be tied up in
impeachment
hearings. Should they retake the Senate, all bets are
off.
Mr. Bush and his minions might finally get theirs.
