Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.    T.C. (9-11-06).

9/11 Lessons Sadly Lost...  September 11, 2006

A most interesting week as the fifth anniversary of 9/11 approaches.   With the political season in full swing, the "President" and his henchmen are aggressively defending the war in Iraq as the November election looms.  Pointed rhetoric is sharper.  Distortion of reality through blatant abuse of semantics and sophistry would be amusing if not so terribly tragic and deliberately misleading.

Finally, however, the "President" has indirectly admitted the obvious.  In a round about fashion, the fascist occupying the Oval Office confirmed the existence of overseas CIA-run gulags.  Mr. Bush states all have been closed and fourteen prisoners shipped to Guantanamo Bay.
... Comforting, isn't it?  -- As well as the fact the "President" reserves the right to do so again "if necessary."

Mr. Bush is urging Congress to pass pending legislation allowing him to try "enemy combatants" in military tribunals.  -- Last June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled such "trials" to be unconstitutional unless okayed by Congress.  Again, remarkably comforting, isn't it?  ... Who's next?  Any American who criticizes the Nazi?

The "President" wants all POWs to be tried by the U.S. military, -- where prisoners will not be granted access to "classified" "evidence" against them.  -- Where coerced testimony obtained through torture can be conveniently used at "trial."  -- Where hearsay is admissible.  Where defendants cannot confront their accusers.  Nazi justice, in Nazi America.  Hitler and Mussolini would have been proud.  ... Again, who won the Second World War?

Would be damned laughable if not so tragic and a portend of things to come.  ... Today, "enemy combatants."  Tomorrow, who knows?  Anyone, including Americans, the "President" considers to be a "threat" to "national security?"  Can't happen?  Think again.  Police all over the United States are militarizing.

The Bill of Rights no longer exists for all practical purposes.  The First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments are under vicious attack unlike any other time during the history of our formerly great nation.

Ostensibly, for "reasons" of "national security."  In reality, a naked power grab by the Nazi occupying the Oval Office.  Precisely, why the Bush "Administration" is the most secretive in American history, -- including the Nixon Administration.

The "President" has launched a series of speeches cleverly designed to defend the indefensible.  -- A war in Iraq launched under false pretenses.  Warrantless domestic spying.  "National Security Letters" which enable FBI goons to access personal information without a warrant.  Recipients must never disclose they ever received one.  If not, they could be prosecuted.

Evisceration of the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments through passage of the USA "Patriot" Act, Homeland "Security" Act, other equally unconstitutional legislation, as well as Executive Orders signed by the fascist occupying the White House.  All cleverly and deliberately designed to eviscerate civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  Nazi America.  ... Where the aggressively stupid public remains cowardly asleep.

This past week the Senate Intelligence Committee disclosed previously classified documents indicating there was no Saddam-9/11 connection.  -- Couldn't be, could it?  ... Something Mr. Bush and his henchmen were well aware of before launching the unprovoked invasion under false pretenses.  Didn't stop the madman and his minions, however.

Amusingly, the Democrats have characterized the recent spate of speeches by Bush et al as the "Fear & Smear Tour."  Sadly, they're right.  Clever distortion of reality, conveniently through shameless abuse of semantics and blatant sophistry.  ... Deception creatively raised to a new, much higher level of sophistication.

The "President" claims the United States does not torture prisoners of war.  Mr. Bush is a liar.  "Administration" lawyers have cleverly redefined the term "torture."  Torture is no longer torture in Nazi America.  Since the tactics have been redefined, the United States is not in violation of the Geneva Conventions.  ... Got it?  Brilliant, no?

In the distorted world of the Right Wing fascist, day is night, night is day, and manure smells perversely sweet.  Everything is ass backwards, directly the opposite of what one might reasonably expect.  ... Clever, isn't it?

Worse, any bona fide interrogator will quickly admit torture and abuse do not result in credible information.  -- The victim tells the torturer what he thinks he wants to hear.  Anything to stop the pain.  Truth has absolutely nothing to do with "interrogation."  Perverse brutality, where the "good" guys get their cookies off doing the unspeakable to their fellow human beings.  -- For "national security," of course.

Mr. Bush and his Nazi henchmen are adroitly lubricating the formerly ungreased shaft.
... Indeed, the shaft is coming friends.  Should there be another 9/11 attack, expect whatever remaining civil and constitutional rights and liberties to be promptly and permanently removed.

-- For "national security" and the "good" of the American people.  ... Shameless cowardly sheep who have allowed this outrageous abrogation of rights to continue the last five years.  Once rights are lost they're never regained.  Permanently lost.  As happened the last 37 years since Nixon took office.

Why hasn't the Nazi occupying the Oval Office been impeached, convicted, removed from power, and promptly tried for war crimes?  Why have we, the American people, allowed this travesty of justice and traitorous "President" to remain in office?  Why?

The "President" and his henchmen have guaranteed through their actions the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the overall "War On Terrorism," will be ultimately lost.  The greatest threat to American national security is not, however, and never has been, al Qaeda or any other terrorist group or nation.

Rather, it is our government.  A government that is self-serving, hopelessly corpulent, and unfailing corrupt and abusive.  We the people have foolishly allowed this.  We deserve whatever we ultimately get.  And, sadly, it will not be pretty.

The "President" and his henchmen deliberately ignore the fact we created this terrorist monster.

-- Did so through 58 years of an unevenhanded approach in the Middle East vis a vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

-- Perniciously continue to support the outrageously corrupt and abusive House of Saud.

-- Continue to insatiably import Arab crude and refuse to become energy independent as could and should have happened fifty years ago.  Consequently, the dollars we pay at the pump are directly used to kill our citizens and military personnel.

-- Continue to permanently garrison American troops in Moslem countries, highly offensive to the Moslem community and a continuous source of irritation.

Earlier this week Pakistan made "peace" with al Qaeda and the resurrected Taliban.  It now has a treaty with terrorists, including bin Laden and his top henchmen, to live in Pakistan as long as they live "peacefully."  Incredible, isn't it?  Our greatest "ally" in the region has formally rubber stamped policy long since known to be in existence and much to the chagrin of the "leadership" in Washington.  A policy that has gone on since September 11, 2001.  Interesting, isn't it?  A policy that has been foolishly ignored by the Nazi in the White House and his henchmen.

Republican fascists and their shills haughtily claim the Bush "Administration" is directly responsible for the fact there have been no major domestic terrorist attacks since 9/11.  Is that right?  Abject nonsense.  The "President" and his henchmen have self-servingly and conveniently overestimated the military prowess of al Qaeda.  For political reasons.  Worse, they've grossly underestimated the patience of the enemy.

-- They also refuse to acknowledge 9/11 could have been prevented had State Department employees run truly comprehensive background checks on all 19 hijackers before issuing them visas.  Interestingly, no one in the State Department has been prosecuted for criminal negligence.  No heads have rolled.  Why?

Want to see the true cause of terror?  Look in the mirror.  Your silence is deafening, your cowardice unparalleled.  Indeed, the Founders must be spinning in their graves.  As Franklin wisely opined well over two hundred years ago, anyone will to trade liberty for security deserves and winds up with neither.  This should be the lesson of 9/11.  Sadly, it is not.  The American population is too damned aggressively stupid and cowardly to understand.  Precisely, why our formerly great nation is at the brink of disaster.

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
