"Pre-Emptive" War Often No More Than Nazism July 16, 2006
Every country has the right and obligation to defend itself, indeed, the duty. If troops are amassed on the border or a naval fleet is steaming perilously close, any country has the right and obligation to pre-emptively attack. One does not have to wait for the enemy to strike first.
Government has the obligation, however, to ensure the "threat" is indeed real. In fact, imminent. To "pre-emptively" attack without the threat being real and imminent is not justified. Not moral. It is no more than Nazism, reminiscent of the German invasion of Poland in 1939 by Hitler and his henchmen.
... A ruse Der Fuhrer cunningly used to "justify" naked aggression. Sadly, the "President" of the United States has similar problems knowing what is, and is not, "pre-emptive" war. He invaded Iraq under false pretenses. There were no weapons of mass destruction. Weapons inspectors repeatedly told him so. He invaded anyway. A colossal mistake, the proportion and ramifications of which are still not clear.
Israel
similarly has problems
with its appreciation of "pre-emptive" war. It's current
ongoing
rape of Lebanon and Gaza in no way is proportionate to the
provocation.
The long-term consequences of its excesses will ensure indefinite
instability
and terror in the Middle East. Precisely, what it ostensibly
is trying
to avoid. The irony is heartrending.
For the last several days, "President" Bush has repeatedly given Israel the green light to continue its ferocious attack in Lebanon. -- An attack far greater than justified by the Hezbollah provocation. ... An attack indicative of years of planning by Israeli authorities.
The fascist occupying the Oval Office has indeed refused to support a ceasefire and condemned efforts of more moderate world powers to bring the fighting to a quick conclusion. -- Despite the fact there are 25,000 Americans currently in Lebanon.
Mr. Bush has embarrassed himself and the United States at the G-8 conference in St. Petersburg, Russia. He is the only world leader to unconditionally and fervently support Israel and its outrageous over reaction to Hezbollah. The "President" is a disgrace to our formerly great country and clearly an unabashed war monger.
Tel Aviv has been surprised by the accuracy and range of missiles being fired by Hezbollah into Israel after onset of the Israeli bombing campaign in Lebanon. Apparently, the thugs running Israel have gotten far more than bargained for from their enemies.
Israel has accused Iran of having 100 soldiers in Lebanon who assisted Hezbollah launch a successful missile attack against an Israeli war ship, resulting in dead and missing sailors. The damage was apparently so bad, Israel was forced to withdraw the ship from combat.
There is also the possibility Israel may use this attack as an excuse to spread the war to Iran and Syria. If Iran is engaged, look for it to cut off all oil exports, driving gasoline prices to the moon. -- Certainly, of great short-term benefit to the "President," "Slick Dick" Cheney, and their cronies in the energy industry.
Recent military action of the Israeli government and its support by the Bush "Administration" have only ensured further long-term instability in the Middle East. Sadly, it will likely become a recruitment poster for Hezbollah and its sympathizers. Worse, it may enable al Qaeda to easily open a second front in the Middle East.
Where better to train and attract new members? Where better to fight the sworn enemy, an enemy in tandem with the United States directly responsible for the rise of modern-day terrorism.
The "President" has pathetically accused Hezbollah of having started the conflict. Sadly, Mr. Bush is again distorting reality and displaying the myopic vision of a Right Wing fascist. Indeed, the conflict goes back decades, in reality, millennia.
The United States is directly responsible for the rise of modern-day terrorism, however. How? It has stupidly, foolishly implemented a grossly unevenhanded approach in the Middle East vis a vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For six decades.
Also, it continues to mindlessly garrison American forces in Moslem countries, -- highly offensive to Moslem sensibilities and culture. Worse, it continues to support the outrageously corrupt and abusive House of Saud and import foreign oil at record levels. It stupidly refuses to implement a Manhattan-style project to enable our formerly great country to become energy independent.
The "President" myopically blames Hezbollah while hypocritically ignoring the biblical speck of dirt in his eye. He falsely claims the laying down of arms by Hezbollah at the instigation of the Lebanese government will somehow magically solve the problems caused by the United States and decades of not-so-benign neglect by his "Administration" as well as earlier ones. Mr. Bush has clearly demonstrated at the G-8 Conference he is nothing more than a hopelessly ignorant jackass devoid of substance and vision.
Worse, the "President" myopically, hypocritically, and conveniently forgets the modern-day State of Israel got its start in 1948, -- fervently using terroristic tactics it now so despises being used against it. The irony is stunning, sad, tragic. The United States itself rightfully used terror in the nuclear obliteration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Clearly,
terror used by some is
morally justified, but not by others. ... Particularly, if
Moslem
or Arab. Interesting, isn't it? Remarkably, one
man's "freedom
fighter" is another's "terrorist." Always has been, always
will be.
All depends on what side you're on and what you believe in.
While
the rhetoric from all sides is bogus, the death and destruction are
real.
Contemptible. Unnecessary. Self-serving.
Outed
CIA Operative Sues Cheney And Others July
14, 2006
Outed former CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson has sued "Vice President" "Slick Dick" Cheney, indicted former Cheney Chief of Staff Scooter Libby, "Presidential" advisor Karl Rove, and others. For deliberately destroying her career as a CIA operative.
Readers will recall Plame was outed by the Bush "Administration" in retaliation for her husband's (former Amb. Joe Wilson's) strong criticism of the "President" and his phony reasons for going to war in Iraq.
Sadly, it will be extremely difficult for Plame to prevail in court due to sovereign immunity statutes that protect and coddle outrageously corrupt and abusive government officials. Already, the Fascist Right has self-servingly embraced current and former "Administration" officials directly involved in the criminal outing of this former spy.
They disingenuously and falsely engage in blatant sophistry, "arguing" she already supposedly "outed" herself publicly at social events with her husband. Had it happened in the Clinton Administration, amusingly, they would have hypocritically cried bloody murder. Then again, with a Right Wing fascist, everythingis indeed deliberately ass backwards from reality.
To date, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has indicted no one directly for the crime. Convenient, isn't it? Apparently, ole' Patty Boy has been bought and paid for by the Bush "Administration."
Hopefully, however, Plame and her attorneys will be successful in embarrassing the Bush "Administration." More importantly, through discovery, the "Administration" may be forced to disclose information and tactics it has successfully kept under raps. ... If a sympathetic corrupt and abusive "judge" doesn't "legislate" his or her perverse fascist views and ideology from the bench, -- and "conveniently" throw the case out of court. Sadly, always a possibility in Nazi America.
Interestingly,
counsel for Karl
Rove has dismissed the pending lawsuit as "without merit."
...
Hey, Counselor? It's
your damned client, sir, who is sorely without merit. Or
substance.
That's right. Don't like the rhetoric? Read another website.
"President" Bush, beholden to the Israeli lobby domestically, has appeased Israeli aggressors who shamelessly invaded Gaza and attacked Lebanon. The fascist occupying the Oval Office has refused to rein in the Israeli government, continuing to falsely claim Israel is only "defending" itself in its wanton brutal attacks of both countries.
Sadly, in the perverse world of the Right Wing fascist, day is night, night is day, and manure smells pleasingly sweet. All thought is convoluted and deliberately ass backwards. -- Such as U.S. UN Ambassador John Bolton's veto of a Security Council resolution condemning Israel for its recent military action.
Mr. Bolton, appointed as a recess appointment to temporarily skirt Congressional disapproval of his nomination, ludicrously remarked such a resolution would be counterproductive and damaging to democracy taking root in the Middle East. Sadly, the direct opposite is the case. Then again, wouldn't want to confuse a fascist with the truth, no? -- He's too damned aggressively stupid to understand anyway.
The "President," when challenged to rein in Israeli aggression, also disingenuously commented he does not make military decisions for the Israelis. Mr. Bush once again lied, cleverly distorted reality, and engaged in blatant sophistry. The Israelis do answer to the American leadership.
They are sorely dependent on us for a reported $10 billion in annual foreign aid. Without it, Israel would eventually be sadly forced into the sea by its Arab enemies. "President" Bush could have quickly brought the current conflict to an end if he so chose.
Why should he? First, it's not to his political advantage, domestically. He and his GOP henchmen are beholden to the Israeli lobby. Second, a shooting war in the Middle East exponentially benefits his cronies in the energy industry.
Already making record profits courtesy of looted consumers, they can now charge even more for their products than heretofore. Oil has quickly shot up to nearly $80 a barrel at the time of this writing with no end in sight. Convenient, isn't it?
The "President's" limitless greed and aggressive stupidity have, however, ensured the "War On Terror" will continue indefinitely and be ultimately lost. Mr. Bush has refused to rein in Israel, deliberately and repeatedly continuing the unevenhanded policies of earlier Administrations vis a vis the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Precisely, why modern terrorism took root.
Additionally,
he continues to
garrison American troops in Moslem countries, -- highly offensive to
Moslems
worldwide. Worse, he continues to shamelessly support the
outrageously
corrupt and abusive House of Saud, again highly offensive to
Moslems.
Worst of all, he has refused to launch and execute a Manhattan-style
project
designed to make the U.S. energy independent within five
years. All
these reasons, and more, ensure the "President's" "War On Terror" will
continue to be bloody and ultimately a failure.
The Israelis have attacked both Gaza and Lebanon. Fighting continues with all sides taking casualties. The "President" of the United States lamely talks out both sides his mouth, publicly stating Israel has the right of "self-defense," while urging "restraint."
... Hey, George? The recent invasion of Palestine and the attack in Lebanon are far more than "self-defense," Mr. "President." Both are blatant aggression. The double standard is stunning. When Israel "arrests" hundreds of "terrorists," the action is labeled "legitimate." When Palestinians and the Lebanese seize Israeli soldiers to be traded for their imprisoned people, however, it's called "kidnapping." ... And "terror." Hypocrisy, only a bona fide fascist could fail to appreciate.
There is moral equivalency, despite claims by the Fascist Right that there is not. Both sides have been aggrieved, not only the last 58 years since establishment of the State of Israel through employment of terroristic tactics by her founders, but for millennia. Since biblical times. Readers are reminded one man's "freedom fighter" is another's "terrorist." All depends on what side you're on and what you believe in. Unlike the rhetoric, the death and destruction on both sides is real.
American-made F-16s and helicopter gunships are being used by the Israelis to kill innocent people, -- in direct violation of American export law that clearly states such weapons be used only in self-defense. The attack of both countries is far, far more. Time to withdraw the reported $10 billion in foreign aid and assistance Israel receives annually from the United States.
All American aid should be withheld until Israel agrees to remain within its pre-1967 borders. No question, it would quickly agree. Without such aid, it would eventually be destroyed through attrition by its Arab neighbors who outnumber it in population at least 20 to one. -- A trump card, a sober and saner American President would, and should, have courageously long since played.
Sadly, political considerations have clouded the best judgment of every American President since the 1967 Six-Day War. Perverse domestic political considerations have enabled the Israelis to do as they please. Evilly, emboldened them to acquire at least some of the ruthless characteristics of their Nazi oppressors before and during the Second World War.
Worse, the glaring unevenhanded U.S. approach in the Middle East is fomenting terrorism. It's precisely why we're hated in the Moslem world. When American-made fighter jets and attack helicopters are used to kill Moslems, the response will always be terror. -- Sadly, the only extremely barbaric military tactic that works against such advanced firepower and such a ruthless enemy.
Mr.
Bush insists such actions
by Hezbollah fighters are "pathetic." ... Hey,
George? Know
what's "pathetic?" -- A fascist U.S. "President" who cleverly
and
deliberately eviscerated civil and constitutional rights and liberties,
falsely in the name of "national security." Sieg
Heil, Mein Fuhrer.
America Uber Alles.
Despite the fact the national deficit currently is estimated at $296 billion this fiscal year, the fascist occupying the Oval Office ludicrously insists tax breaks, mainly targeting the rich, "work." Then again, in Nazi America, day is night, night is day, and manure smells perversely sweet.
The
Bush "Administration" has
grossly overestimated the deficit the last several years, only to
sizably
reduce it before each fiscal year ends. Apparently, ole'
George "The
Tush" and his henchmen are conveniently manipulating estimates for
political
advantage and expediency. Then again, what else is new?
Succumbing to enormous international and congressional pressure, the Pentagon ordered all "detainees" held in Guantanamo Bay be treated as prisoners of war under the Geneva Conventions. Approximately, 450 are "detained" there, with another 550 or so imprisoned in CIA-run gulags overseas. The order, however, does not apply to the CIA. Central Intelligence goons will continue to do as they please.
Under the Geneva Conventions, torture and abuse at Guantanamo will have to end. These men will also be entitled to regular visits by the Red Cross. To date, abuse and torture of "detainees" have become a black eye on our formerly great country. Also, the Bush "Administration" has deliberately frustrated regular Red Cross visits. Nazi America. Think the new "Presidential" Pentagon directive will change anything? Either at Guantanamo or eventually in CIA-run gulags overseas? ... If so, there's a bridge for sale in Brooklyn you might be interested in.
