Kennedy Son Plans To Enter Rehab May 6, 2006
Rep. Patrick Kennedy, D-RI, son of Sen. Edward Kennedy, plans to enter rehab at the Mayo Clinic for a prescription painkiller addiction problem. While Mr. Kennedy claims to have no recollection of driving his car into a barricade in Washington early Thursday morning, apparently he was afforded special treatment by Capitol Police.
So, what else is new? Didn't "conservative" radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh receive similar special treatment over the last two and a half years since a prescription drug fraud investigation launched against him? ... As repeatedly reported earlier in this publication.
Although VIPs indeed often receive special treatment from police, the real issue in both cases is quite simple and has absolutely no relation to celebrity status. ... Why aren't prescription drug abusers treated exactly the same as any street drug user?
Why
are they nearly always afforded
special treatment, -- unlike their unwashed street drug
brethren?
After all, a junkie is a junkie, right? Although drug
prohibition
has clearly not worked and indeed corrupted police all over our
formerly
great nation, why aren't we treating all drug abusers exactly
alike?
Whether the substance abused is legal or not.
See the videotape of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld heckled earlier this week in Atlanta? Two hecklers had already been given the boot when a retired CIA analyst finally got his turn. Security was already removing the man, who had asked several extremely pointed questions, when Rumsfeld gamely but foolishly asked them to let him stay.
The former intelligence analyst then aggressively tore into ole' Donny boy repeatedly asking him why he lied to the American people regarding non-existent weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Rumsfeld awkwardly tapdanced, but never answered his questions directly and responsively. How could he?
Instead,
the Defense Secretary
claimed government officials didn't lie about the intelligence and,
more
stupidly, that no one should suggest they did because it would reflect
lack of support for the troops. Incredible, isn't
it? A non
sequitur of enormous proportions even for this
"Administration."
... This is the best this nation has to offer in terms of leadership at
a bureaucracy that consumes nearly a half trillion
bucks a year?
Porter
Goss, CIA Chief for approximately
the last year and a half, suddenly resigned earlier today. --
Seems
Mr. Goss may indeed be a target in a criminal investigation.
...
An investigation that is allegedly being aided by disgraced convicted
former
California Rep. Randy Duke Cunningham as part of a plea deal.
...
Who'd a' 'thunk' it, no?
A dead-locked jury resulted in a sentence of life without parole for the so-called 20th 9/11 hijacker, Zacharias Moussaoui. Moussaoui is a pathetically disturbed psychopath who was wisely shunned by al Qaeda colleagues. -- They knew he was nuts and couldn't be trusted. American intelligence officials also knew he had nothing to do with 9/11, either the attack or planning. So did outrageously corrupt and abusive federal prosecutors.
Yet, this man was deliberately and knowingly prosecuted for crimes he did not commit. He insanely represented himself. Figuratively tore up the courtroom and made a spectacle of the trial. The "judge," Leone Brinkema, nonetheless allowed him to continue and eventually to plead guilty to a crime he maintained he did not commit.
Repeatedly, Moussaoui claimed he was to be part of a follow-up attack, not 9/11. He even loudly proclaimed this at the time the outrageously corrupt, abusive, and inept "judge" accepted his "guilty" plea. She did not force the case to trial, however, where the government would likely have lost. Instead, she aided and abetted prosecutors in this horrendous travesty of justice.
Brinkema should be impeached, convicted, and removed from the bench. She is a disgrace who betrayed her oath of office and the United States Constitution. She was not impartial. Clearly, in the pocket of equally corrupt and abusive prosecutors. -- Prosecutors, who conveniently forgot they already got their proverbial pound of flesh by the deaths of all 19 hijackers at the time of the attack.
Had
Moussaoui been executed, his
blood would have been on the hands of every American citizen.
Especially,
those of us who gutlessly remained silent. Had he been killed
by
the state for a crime he did not commit, he would have gotten exactly
what
he wanted, -- martyrdom.
Reportedly,
at least three members
of the jury had the sense to do the right thing and refused to execute
the bastard.
The failure of the jury to execute is a stunning blow to the government. They spent years trying to kill him. -- Be interesting to see if prison officials in Colorado facilitate the murder of this man by other inmates. ... Despite the fact Moussaoui will be isolated and caged 23 hours of every 24 the rest of his life.
Prosecutors claim justice was supposedly served with the life sentence. Is that right, Counselors? Moussaoui did not participate or plan 9/11. His only crime appears to be mental illness, -- and/or his perverse joy in the deaths and suffering of all those victimized by 9/11. Since when have evil thoughts become a crime? If so, every damned person in our formerly great country would have qualified for criminal prosecution at some point in his or her life.
No one else will be prosecuted for the 9/11 catastrophe. -- Not even the bastards responsible who are in American custody overseas. Why? Simple. Extremely simple. They have been repeatedly tortured by American operatives. There is no way to make a case after such treatment. Despite the fact torture is outlawed and produces no credible information according to experts, the Bush "Administration" continues to torture and mistreat prisoners.
The "President" signed the bill into law with an accompanying signing statement that allows him to abrogate the legislation and abuse prisoners if he so chooses. -- The same outrageously unconstitutional practice that has allowed him to sign some 750 other bills into law without having to veto any. The "President" clearly believes himself to be above the law, -- as did President Nixon over thirty years ago.
Again, directly due to the torture of the three "detainees" who masterminded 9/11 and the Cole disaster, no one will be prosecuted. No one. Equally responsible outrageously negligent State Department officials, who issued the 19 hijackers visas to enter the U.S., have not been disciplined. Not one of these bastards has been fired. Not one. In Nazi America. Where day is night, night is day, and manure smells perversely sweet.
The fascist occupying the White House and his henchmen have haughtily claimed their aggressive abrogation of civil and constitutional rights and liberties is the reason why there has been no repeat of the 9/11 catastrophe. If true, they have done the American people no favor. It is preferable to die in an attack, than it is to live with no freedom. No civil and constitutional rights and liberties. The Founders must indeed be spinning in their graves at our profound cowardice and failure to stop the mad man occupying the Oval Office and his henchmen.
Is it the "Administration's" aggressiveness, as well as the torture and brutal murders of abused "detainees", that is directly responsible for the failure of al Qaeda to strike again on a 9/11 scale? Or is it the deliberate exaggeration of the enemy's prowess and ability to strike?
... Indeed, a "lucky" earlier attack, facilitated by the State Department through issuance of visas that never should have been issued? ... The colossal earlier failure of the government to easily thwart the catastrophe by exercising any vigilance at all? Unanswered questions, Bush and his compadres don't want answered.
The
Moussaoui case has been repeatedly
covered in this publication. Click

For
quite some time, the genocide
in the Darfur region of the Sudan has continued unabated.
While the
"President" prosecutes a war in Iraq under false pretenses and is
responsible
for the deaths of thousands of innocent Iraqis, Mr. Bush turns a deaf
ear
to the carnage in Africa. -- No oil interests where the
genocide
rages. Yet, ole' George "The Tush" wears "religion" on his
sleeve
and has the gall to call himself a Christian.
The F-22 Raptor fighter jet was designed with an enemy like the former Soviet Union in mind. It is, reportedly, light years ahead of the F-15, F-16, and F-18. With no technologically superior "enemy" on the horizon, however, why is the United States government spending $160 million on each? Already, 56 have been delivered with 180 budgeted. Why waste money on a fighter that is not needed in the foreseeable future?
For perspective, the Raptor is approximately four times as costly as earlier jets. Interestingly, the World War II Corsair fighter employed in the Pacific reportedly cost some $5,000. Certainly, a lot of money at the time. The Raptor, however, is 32,000 times as expensive. While the new aircraft is indeed far, far more sophisticated, the cost is unjustified and further enriching insatiably greedy war contractors.
Waste
in the Pentagon remains
second to none. Although the defense budget is nearly a half
trillion,
we're no safer, no more secure than ten years ago. Challenge
of Pentagon
waste is conveniently labeled unpatriotic or even treasonous in Nazi
America. The truth, however, is the direct
opposite. Should
the wasteful spending continue unabated, our formerly great country
will
indeed become a Third World nation.
