Third Anniversary-Iraq Invasion  March 24, 2006

Last weekend marked passage of the third anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Iraq by American forces.  "President" Bush claims the war is a "noble cause."  How so, George?  You've replaced a brutal dictator with a regime that cannot govern.  "Sectarian" violence is at an all-time high.  How are the world and Iraqis better off today than three years ago?

Last week, Parliament met for thirty minutes, could not agree on leadership, and promptly adjourned.  -- It took legislators longer to travel to the session than the session itself.  Clearly, Iraqis have no pressing desire to govern themselves.

Prominent Iraqis are readily admitting "sectarian violence" is civil war.  -- The Emperor indeed has no clothes.  The killing continues unabated and dwarfs the murders by Saddam and his thugs.

Power is on a few hours a day.  Many have no water.  Oil exports are at a trickle due to more than three hundred acts of sabotage.  Iraqi crude has not paid for reconstruction and the costs of the war as promised.  American taxpayer funds slated for reconstruction have been spent on security.  Despite expenditures of billions, security and order are non-existent.

We have not been greeted as "liberators."  Our troops were not showered with flowers and chocolates as anticipated.  Rather, they're cruelly killed and maimed with IEDs.  Some 85% of Iraqis want us out.  Approximately 47% or so currently believe it's okay to kill Americans.

Over 2,300 of our best and brightest have been killed in action.  Over 17,000 maimed, 8,500 so severely injured they cannot return to duty.  Recruitment is down.  The military is being foolishly gutted, unlike any other time in American history.  Over-extended all over the globe.

With an estimated 30,000 to 70,000 Iraqis killed and thousands more maimed in an unprovoked attack under false pretenses, many in the world community consider the "President" to be a war criminal and terrorist.  No question, Mr. Bush went to war under false pretenses for his own perverse reasons.

The "President" has repeatedly lied about progress of the war, -- believing citizens to be so stupid they wouldn't question the wide disparity between reality on the ground in Iraq and what Mr. Bush and his henchmen are falsely and self-servingly claiming.

Apparently, Bush and his minions wouldn't know truth if it bit them hard on the ass.  -- Or are deliberately lying, hoping the people are too damned stupid to know or care.  Finally, however, the natives are indeed becoming restless, as the "President" has gone to the well one time too many.

Not surprisingly, the "President," "Administration" officials, and their Fascist Right shills are blaming media for the drop in support for the invasion and occupation.  ... Cunningly, laying a phony foundation of blame for eventual loss of the war.  To conveniently divert attention from those directly responsible for the Iraq fiasco, -- the "President" and his henchmen.

Fascists blame media for supposedly not reporting all the "good" that's been done in Iraq.  Nonsense.  Unadulterated BS.  Rebuilding of schools, playgrounds, infrastructure, etc. has been reported.  Repeatedly.

Sadly, the true story of the war, however, is not rebuilding, but the war itself.  The egregious, worsening lack of security and increased violence.  Some 70 reporters have been killed.  Another 40 or so have been kidnapped.  Reporters cannot freely roam Iraq because of the lack of security and continued violence.  Those embedded with American troops only see what the military wants them to see.

Consequently, the war cannot be fully covered.  Reporters, who have ventured out at great personal risk alone, however, report Iraqis are telling them the violence and lack of security are far worse than reported.  While some violence is indeed staged for media consumption and impact, most occurs outside camera range.  Much of it at night.

Rebuilding is not possible until the war is over and hostilities cease.  What good is rebuilding when new construction is quickly demolished by insurgents?  The phony claims of "progress" by the "President" and his apologists are just that, -- phony.

Civil and constitutional rights and liberties have been deliberately, systematically eviscerated in the name of "national security" as the "President" perniciously consolidates power and ignores Congress and the courts.  Der Fuhrer has become a law unto himself.

The "President" recently reconfirmed his doctrine of "pre-emptive" war, -- having learned nothing from the debacle in Iraq.  Where next, George?  Syria?  Iran?  North Korea?  China?  When will your daughters suit up and go off to fight your wars, Mr. "President?"

In fact, George, why not suit up yourself and lead the charge?  ... After all, you're "Commander In Chief," aren't you, sir?  -- Wouldn't want to leave all the fighting and dying to your loyal minions, would you, Mr. "President?"

Republicans fear Democrats will impeach the "President" if they recapture the House in coming elections.  Deserting Mr. Bush in droves, fearful they'll lose their seats in November.  Tough, isn't it?

Not only is the "President" directly responsible for the fiasco in Iraq launched under false pretenses, he has also deliberately and intentionally eviscerated civil and constitutional rights and liberties via the USA "Patriot" Act, Homeland "Security" Act, other equally unconstitutional legislation and Executive Orders, as well as domestic spying by NSA without warrants and court supervision. In Nazi America.

-- As he perniciously pursues consolidation of power, cowardly hiding the activities of his "Administration" through claims of executive privilege and inordinate secrecy.  Should things not substantively change soon, a second American Revolution will become inevitable.  ... Again, Mr. "President," how is the Iraq war a "noble cause?"

Thousands Protest Illegal Immigrant Criminalization March 24, 2006

Interestingly, thousands across the nation marched Friday to protest pending legislation in the Senate to criminalize illegal immigrants, that is, turn them into felons.  -- Must be sending a shiver up the gutless spines of the "President" and his Fascist Right base that there is indeed significant opposition.

Supreme Court Affirms Home Privacy Rights March 22, 2006

In a 5-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled police may not enter a home without a warrant if one resident agrees and another does not.  Police must have consent of any residents at the door if they are to enter with no warrant.  They still have the right, however, to enter without a warrant if there is violence.

This case involves a couple who was having marital problems.  The wife called police and informed them her husband had drugs.  They entered the home with no warrant even though the husband refused to allow them permission to enter.  They found drugs and hauled him to jail.

Not surprisingly, newly-confirmed Chief "Justice" John Roberts dissented.  Apparently, Mr. Roberts, a bona fide fascist, has no respect or regard for the Fourth Amendment and its requirement of search warrants.

He disingenuously and speciously argued in his dissent battered women could suffer as a result, -- conveniently ignoring the fact police indeed retain the right to enter any home without a warrant if there is violence.

The police should and could have taken the time to properly investigate the woman's charges against her husband.  Properly obtained a search warrant immediately after the husband's refusal to allow them to enter.

If he flushed his stash before arrival of the warrant, tough break for the police.  It is occasionally the legitimate and most necessary cost of civil and constitutional rights.  Police still would have had a case, however, albeit a weaker one.  -- One of the rare occasional roadblocks law enforcement has learned to effectively cope with and get around.

Even if the case did not fly, police, knowing he is a drug user, would have eventually nailed him.  Regardless, it is far better to let a lawbreaker occasionally elude "justice" then abrogate civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  ... I.e., effectively live in a fascist police state where only the government is criminal.  Example?  Nazi Germany.

Any resident refusing police entry without a warrant must be at the door, not in another room or asleep.  Surprisingly, a usually fascist Supreme Court finally got it right and affirmed Fourth Amendment rights.  In Nazi America.

Afghanistan May Execute Christian Convert March 22, 2006

American troops are fighting and dying in Afghanistan to supposedly rid it of the Taliban and establish a democracy.  The outrageously theocratic government installed by "President" Bush and his henchmen, however, have put a Christian convert on trial and plan to execute him for the "crime."

The man converted to Christianity 16 years ago and is now facing execution for the conversion from Islam.  ... A capital offense in the Afghan theocracy.  The United States government, while urging them not to kill him, has inexplicably and cowardly stated the issue is an internal matter and up to the Afghanis.

One Islamic cleric advised the man deserves to be beheaded.  Why in hell are we fighting there?  For what?  Nazism?  Pressure is intense on the "President" and his "Administration."  Most of it interestingly and hypocritically coming from his "Christian" Fascist Right base.  Care to bet they wouldn't have given a damn if the man had been sentenced to death for becoming a Hindu?

IRS Considers Preparer Release Of Taxpayer Information March 22, 2006

Incredibly, the Internal Revenue Service is considering allowing tax preparers to sell taxpayer information including tax returns to third-party marketing database companies, and will hold public hearings on the proposal.  Taxpayers would be required to "opt in."  Should this stand, the American public will get exactly what it deserves.  Drop your drawers, grab your ankles, and prepare to take the ungreased shaft.  Aggressive stupidity is indeed its own reward.

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
