"President" Spinning Port Fiasco March 10, 2006

Already, the "President" is spinning the loss days after the DP World port fiasco.  In public comments before news editors, Mr. Bush disingenuously complained of consequences in the Arab world and what they would think of us.  ... What's that, George?  -- That we're not stupid enough to allow sheiks to run our ports?  Sheiks from a country that laundered 9/11 funds and transferred nuclear material to Libya and North Korea?

That a majority of Americans are unwilling to allow outsourcing of port management for national security reasons and not bigotry as falsely claimed, and do not support the export of most blue and white collar jobs overseas as favored by many major American corporations?  For self-serving, short-term personal gain and insatiable corporate greed?

That many of us won't stand by and quietly allow our formerly great country to become a Third World nation as larger and larger chunks of American assets are transferred to foreign ownership and control?  ... And engineering and manufacturing skills are lost, making us far more vulnerable to our enemies?

Laughably, the "President" and his shills are concerned Arabs will no longer invest here the enormous amount of cash that has been looted from us from oil imports.  Tough, isn't it?  Our deliberately engineered failure to become energy independent fifty years ago is finally coming back to bite us hard on the ass.  Again, tough, isn't it?  Sadly, we're getting exactly what we richly deserve.  -- Aggressive stupidity should never go unpunished.

That's not to say there should be no foreign trade, however, but that it should be carefully controlled and in our best interests.  Not just that of insatiably greedy corporate management, shareholders, and their shills in government.

Most importantly, the "President" and his henchmen have forgotten self-sufficiency is indeed absolutely required for national security.  Not-so-distant history is proof positive.  The rise of Imperialist Japan was largely due to its perceived lack of self-sufficiency.

It wrongly believed it had to expand to obtain sufficient raw materials to survive.  It refused to do its very best with what it had at the time, instead blaming other countries for their failure to give it what it wanted.

Without question, it learned the lesson at horrendous cost and at tremendous loss of life and treasure on both sides.  ... Only to find after the war it could indeed obtain all the raw materials it needed, peacefully.  Although current circumstances are indeed far different in the United States, the bottom line is the same.  While foreign trade is without question a must and should be carefully controlled, the U.S. must be self-sufficient.

We must produce our own energy.  Manufacture our own basic necessities and provide for ourselves.  If we do not, we will be at the mercy of other nations, -- as well as our enemies.  Whatever happened to "rugged individuality" and independence?  Values that used to be championed by the Party of Lincoln, -- the Republican Party?

Now, they fall all over themselves, desperately trying to export most blue and white collar jobs overseas for the sake of short-term returns and insatiable greed.  Why?  They whine about coming supposed "One World Government," yet hypocritically do all they can to ensure it becomes reality.  Why?  It's time to wake up before too late.

Security Slack At Homeland "Security" Department March 9, 2006

Enjoy the Keystone Kops as a kid?  -- You'll love what's going on at the Homeland "Security" Department.  Would indeed be laughable if billions of taxpayer dollars had not been expended.
Recently, a white powder believed to be Anthrax was found within a few feet of Secretary Chertoff.  Unbelievably, guards did not know what to do.  Fortunately, the substance turned out to be harmless and the Department insisted the gaffe has been corrected.  ... Comforting, isn't it?

War Stepping Up In Afghanistan March 9, 2006

Indeed, the war in Afghanistan is heating up three years after the American invasion and toppling of the Taliban.  Sadly, the Taliban is rebuilding itself and launching new vicious attacks.  -- Tactics, having been learned in Iraq fighting American troops.  The insurgency is the strongest since the invasion.

Worse, the United States is no closer to capture of bin Laden and his henchmen, who are believed to have been given sanctuary in Pakistan after fleeing Afghanistan.  Yet, Pakistan remains officially off limits to our troops due to instability of its government run by a military dictator who stole power years ago through a coup.  ... What webs we weave.

Information Allegedly Removed From Pentagon Database March 9, 2006

Months ago, it was disclosed the Pentagon had improperly stored data on Iraq war protests and protesters.  That information has allegedly been removed from a secret military database.  Comforting, isn't it?  Precisely, why stringent controls were placed on the military and President after the Nixon fiasco over thirty years ago.  Now, we chillingly see history, again repeating itself. In Nazi America.

DP World Backs Out Of Port Fiasco March 9, 2006

Not surprisingly and directly due to enormous political pressure, United Arab Emirates-owned DP World backed out of plans to manage six American ports.  Have agreed to transfer operations to an American firm.  Only 17% of the American people supported the "President" in this fiasco.  He was finally forced to bow to enormous pressure, not only by Democrats, but by his Republican compadres as well.

The Republican leadership made it quite clear to Bush they could and would override the threatened presidential veto, -- what would have been the first for this "Administration."  Democrats remain skeptical DP World will indeed remove itself completely from port operations, and still want legislation and further investigation.

This political fiasco has dearly cost our lame-duck "President."  Any political capital remaining will have to be carefully used and conserved if Mr. Bush intends to get anything done in his remaining term.  ... Tough, isn't it?

USA "Patriot" Act Renewed March 9, 2006

The "President" haughtily signed the renewal of the USA "Patriot" Act into law, falsely claiming it will provide "national 'security'" as well as protect civil and constitutional rights.  Mr. Bush is a liar.  The outrageous unconstitutionality of this statute has been repeatedly addressed on this website, the most recent in last week's edition.

Nearly all provisions will become permanent.  The worst will be up for renewal once again four years from now.  Be extremely careful what information you give your physician, employer, banker, insurer, etc..  That information will be fully accessible to federal goons to use and abuse at their discretion.

Have sinus or allergy problems and use any over the counter medications including pseudo-ephedrine?  Tough.  Since the active ingredient in Sudafed and other such medications is used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, they will now be kept behind the counter in all fifty states by federal law, i.e. the USA "Patriot" Act, and will require user identification and logging.

Consequently, the 33rd Judicial District Narcotics "Enforcement" Team (NET) will have even easier access to medical records, not only here but elsewhere.  -- Expect to have your door knocked down without a warrant by these outrageously corrupt and abusive jack-booted thugs if you consume whatever they believe to be too much sinus and allergy medication.  Business as usual, the warrant will become available after the fact, and only if you demand it before going to court.

The "Patriot" Act conveniently abrogates the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments of the Constitution.  It is a blatant attempt by the "President" and his henchmen in Congress to eviscerate all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

It is no more than a pernicious attempt to consolidate power by the "President" and the fascists who support him.  Clearly, the American people are hopelessly aggressively stupid, and are getting exactly what they deserve.  Too bad the rest of us have to suffer for it.

All who treasonously supported this atrocious piece of legislation, whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent, should not be returned to office.  All who voted in favor, as well as the "President," have egregiously and cowardly violated their oaths of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.  The Founders of our once great country must indeed be spinning in their graves.  In Nazi America.

Moussaoui Sentencing Phase Begins March 6, 2006

Last year, "Judge" Leone Brinkema accepted a guilty plea from Zacharias Moussaoui as earlier reported in this publication.  Moussaoui pled guilty to being an al Qaeda operative (conspiracy), but claimed no knowledge of 9/11 and insisted he was to be part of a subsequent attack.

He was charged, however, with being a 9/11 participant, the so-called "20th hijacker," by federal prosecutors, yet, the outrageously corrupt and abusive "judge" improperly accepted his plea.  A plea to a crime he repeatedly claimed not to have committed right up to this moment.

It is the function of any judge to be an impartial arbiter of justice.  Not a damned instrument of the prosecution.  That's precisely why our system of justice is designed to be confrontational.  So the truth comes out, the innocent vindicated, and guilty convicted.  The plea should not have been accepted and Moussaoui ordered to go to trial with the government forced to prove its case.  Not to be, however.

Now, a jury is considering whether the defendant should be executed.  -- For a crime he never pled guilty to, that is, participation in the 9/11 catastrophe.  Incredibly, federal prosecutors argue he should be killed by the state for essentially exercising his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself.  Government goons claim he supposedly lied to them after he was arrested and jailed three weeks before 9/11.  Had already been incarcerated weeks before the catastrophe.  Got it?  Understand?  This writer certainly doesn't.

This is an outrageous example of Nazi, kangaroo justice befitting Hitler's Third Reich, not our formerly great nation.  The Fifth Amendment protects all against being forced to self-incriminate, no matter the consequences.  No matter the circumstances.  Even if innocent people are subsequently killed.  Who decides when or if that right should be abrogated?

Nowhere in the Constitution does it authorize government to allow that abrogation.  Should this outrageous travesty of justice be allowed to stand, government at any moment could choose to abrogate any right, any time, anywhere, when convenient.  Innocent or guilty.

Moussaoui has profound mental problems.  So severe al Qaeda refused to do business with him.  Shunned him.  Thought he was nuts.  In court, he's demonstrated the same insane behavior, yet, was allowed to "defend" himself by a "judge" whose mental faculties must also be consequently called into question.

Should the federal government prevail and execute this admittedly sad excuse for a human being, his blood will be on all our hands.  Particularly, those who remained cowardly silent at this outrageous travesty of justice.  In Nazi America.

... Think it can't and won't happen to any of us regardless of guilt or innocence?  -- The precise reason the Bill of Rights was written by the Founders.  Should Moussaoui be murdered by the U.S. government, he will have been killed for a future crime he never committed.  A dangerous precedent that will come back to dearly haunt us.

South Dakota Outlaws Abortion March 6, 2006

With exception for the life of the mother, the not-so-great State of South Dakota has outlawed abortion.  Fascists there have finally been successful enacting their perverse "religious" views into law.  The court battle begins.  Legal experts claim there is little chance the Supreme Court will be quickly bullied into reversing Roe.  Can only hope so.  Should women be denied reproductive freedom and the right to do with their uterus as they damn well please, sadly, the only alternative will be a second American Revolution. In Nazi America.

Bush Wants Line-Item Veto Power March 6, 2006

The "President" has once again asked for line-item veto power.  Why?  So he can further consolidate presidential power and impose his fascist ideology more expediently?  An earlier version of the line-item veto was ruled unconstitutional.  What has changed since then, George?

Clearly, Mr. Bush is eager to veto educational, elderly, Medicare, Medicaid, and other entitlement spending.  While extending pork to energy companies, other corporations, and military contractors.   And insisting on permanent tax breaks for the richest of the rich.  As American as Mom and apple pie.

Want to curb pork?  Immediately, end the highly convenient and hopelessly corrupt congressional practice of adding new, arcane, unrelated spending amendments to pending bills.  Legislators would be far likelier to fully read and understand pending legislation that currently can be thousands of pages long and not understood by anyone.

-- Where lawmakers craftily add pork and attach it to must-pass legislation, such as defense spending appropriations.  End such amendment practices and you curb the pork, forcing legislators to directly and knowingly vote on all appropriations.  Where they can't gutlessly feign ignorance, disingenuously claim they just didn't know or had no choice, and conveniently escape accountability to their constituents.  Can't have that, can we?

Supreme Court Backs Campus Military Recruiters  March 6, 2006

In an unanimous decision, the Supreme Court ruled military recruiters must be allowed on campus if colleges and universities accept federal funds.  Interesting, isn't it?  Raises at least four questions.  First, why are private colleges and universities receiving taxpayer money?  Second, how is it constitutional for the federal government to interfere in the day to day operations of any school simply because it donates some funds to the effort?  Third, specifically, where is that very authority expressed in the Constitution?  Fourth, what's next?

Will schools be forced to hold periodic military job fairs to retain federal funding?  Will colleges be forced to allow the President or any other government official to speak at their schools whenever the government chooses?  Or forced to hold pep rallies for the war effort?  Think government won't take a mile, after getting an inch?

Sadly, the nine fascists sitting on the Supreme Court have once again "legislated" their perverse ideology from the bench and imposed it on higher education.  In a direct attempt to help the "President" further consolidate power and impose his fascist principles on the rest of us.

... No military recruitment, no further cannon fodder to politically protect and coddle the corrupt and abusive ass of the "Commander In Chief."  Not only in Iraq, but elsewhere in the world.  Can't have that, can we?  Think the American people would seriously entertain a draft at this time?  As recruitment continues to slack off, we'll likely soon see.

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
