Women's Rights Pioneer Betty Friedan Dies February 4, 2006
A housewife of 40's, 50's vintage and most unlikely icon of the women's rights movement, Betty Friedan wrote The Feminine Mystique over forty years ago. It turned into the bible of women's rights and led to the founding of NOW in the 60's.
Ms. Friedan, 85, died on her birthday of congestive heart failure. She was indeed a champion of women and their right to equality in all aspects of life, including the work place. She tirelessly supported a woman's right to do with her uterus as she damn well pleases.
Sadly, however, young women today have forgotten that it is indeed pioneers such as Friedan who are directly responsible for the rights they currently enjoy. Equally tragically, these very same women seem hell bent on forfeiting these extremely precious and hard-fought rights that came at such tremendous cost.
Falling
prey to the propaganda
and distortions of the Fascist Right, who want women pregnant,
barefoot,
and in the kitchen. Subservient to men. Aryan
arrogantly, claiming
it to be biblical.
An honor denied her late husband assassinated 38 years ago this April, Coretta Scott King is lying in state in the Georgia Capitol. A well-deserved tribute to a civil rights pioneer who was just as instrumental as her husband in forcing badly-needed change. Possibly, more so. Sadly, however, bigotry is just as alive and well as it was decades ago.
Has
become quite covert and deeply
entrenched in political correctness. Closet bigotry is far
harder
to combat, root out, and expose to the light of day. While
progress
in race relations has indeed occurred over the years, much has yet to
be
done.
Ohio
Republican Cong. John Boehner
was elected House Majority Leader by his GOP colleagues in a secret
ballot.
Republicans are clearly terrified the current corruption scandals will
hurt them in coming midterm elections. Boehner was not front
runner,
however, but cleverly chosen because he looks the "cleanest."
...
Amusing, however, since the congressman generously distributed tobacco
lobby checks to his colleagues on the House floor years ago.
Mr.
Boehner will clearly be the fox guarding the chicken coop.
Convenient,
isn't it?
Not wasting time, "Justice" Samuel A. Alito frustrated the Nazi Right block on the Supreme Court, siding with the more moderate fascist majority in a Missouri capital punishment case. Mr. Alito voted to delay the execution of a Missouri man condemned to die for a crime dating back to 1989. ... Tough, isn't it?
Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts must not be happy campers. -- Nor are Fascist Right partisans who strongly supported the Alito nomination, considering Miers to be far too "liberal." Hopefully, Alito will continue to make critics, including this writer, look like idiots.

Any movement from the Nazi
Right on the Court to a more moderate ideological position is positive,
and should be encouraged. -- As long as that movement is less
fascist than the status quo. Alternative? A
revolution no one
really wants.
See the video of the Chino, CA deputy who pumped three rounds into an Air Force security officer who was cooperative, compliant, and unarmed? The MP was guilty of no crime, -- just a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding. Think the deputy will be charged with deadly assault and indicted, -- or no-billed by a grand jury as nearly always the case?
In
Nazi America, the deputy
is currently not in jail, but on "administrative
leave," that is,
a
paid vacation, -- until the "investigation" is
over. ... Adolph
and Benito must be smiling from their fiery perches.
Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was invited by a California congresswoman to attend last night's State of the Union Speech. Before the speech, however, she was ejected and arrested by Capitol Police for wearing an anti-war T-shirt containing war casualty figures. A Republican congressman's wife was similarly ejected for wearing a shirt in support of the troops, but was not arrested. Interesting, isn't it?
No due process or equal treatment under the law in Congress. No First Amendment guarantee of free speech, -- unless you're the Nazi "President" who delivered the speech, or one of the 535 kings and queens in Congress.
Mrs.
Sheehan did not disrupt proceedings.
The lettering on her shirt did not contain obscenities, but protected
speech.
... The House of the people of the United States tolerates no dissent.

The Fascist Right is determinedly trying to establish a Judeo-Christian theocracy in direct violation of the First Amendment and its prescription of church-state separation. If Congress allows no "political speech" in its chambers other than that of its members and the "President" under carefully controlled circumstances, why does it allow symbols of "political speech" worn by proponents of a Judeo-Christian theocracy.
That is, why is the Fascist Right allowed to wear a Star of David or a Christian Cross within House Chambers? After all, both have become perverse, convoluted political symbols of the Nazi element in our formerly great country. If a war protester cannot wear an anti-war T-shirt, why should a Right Wing fascist be allowed to wear a cross around his/her neck or on a lapel? If there is to be no free expression, why should anyone be exempt?
That
is not to say, however,
all Jews and Christians are fascists. In fact, extremely few
are.

irretrievable damage in our formerly great country.

Note: Later in the day, the Capitol Police dropped all
charges against
Sheehan and offered an apology. Claimed both women should
have been
allowed to attend the State of the Union address. Unlike the
Republican
congressman's wife, however, Sheehan was indeed arrested, cuffed, and
held
for four hours by Capitol Police stormtroopers. She is
considering
a lawsuit. Should certainly sue the living sh-t out of them
for false
arrest and abrogation of her First Amendment right to free
speech.
-- When taxpayers are looted millions for this type of outrageous BS,
possibly
American Nazi stormtroopers will finally wake up and clean up their
corrupt
and abusive act.

To a heavily-divided Congress and nation, the "President" last night delivered a State of the Union speech devoid of substance and a reiteration of the same old tired rhetoric. Mr. Bush spent much of his time extolling the "virtues" of the unprovoked war in Iraq, launched under false pretenses.
In addition, he defended the indefensible, -- domestic spying with no court oversight or supervision. In direct violation of the Fourth Amendment, the 1978 FISA statute, and other federal laws prohibiting domestic surveillance with no warrants or court oversight.
The "President" had the gall to lie directly to the American people during the speech, claiming had there been warrantless domestic spying of two foreign hijackers prior to the 9/11 catastrophe, it might have prevented the tragedy. A bold-faced lie by the Nazi occupying the Oval Office.
First, NSA would have had to data-mine domestic telephone conversations of millions of Americans to have the remotest of chances of catching the hijackers. Would have had to do so illegally, with no warrant or court supervision.
Second, the hijackers were allowed to enter the country on visas provided by federal authorities. ... Authorities, who had time to do background checks prior to issuing visas, but apparently did not.
... Authorities, who were also aware some of them were taking flight lessons. Lessons, where at least one of the student pilots indicated they were only interested in straight and level flight. Not take-offs and landings. Still, no bells and whistles went off.
Yet, the "President" had the gall to thus "justify" his outrageous abrogation of the Fourth Amendment and federal statutes prohibiting warrantless domestic spying. Callously and falsely, using fear of future attacks to justify his hijacking of the Constitution and assumption of dictatorial power.
According
to the Nazi currently
occupying the Oval Office, warrantless domestic spying is no longer
warrantless
domestic spying, but a "terrorist surveillance program." In
Nazi
America. Where day is night, night is day, and
manure smells
perversely sweet.
Coretta
Scott King, widow of Dr.
Martin Luther King, died at the age of 78 of complications of a stroke
and terminal ovarian cancer. Mrs. King was a giant in the
civil rights
movement, carried on and implemented the legacy of her husband for the
last 38 years since he was assassinated in 1968. She will be
sorely
missed.
No corporation in the history of the United States has ever posted a better quarterly profits report than Exxon-Mobil. Yesterday, it was disclosed they made a record $10.7 billion in the last quarter of 2005. For the year, $36.13 billion. Who'd 'a 'thunk' it, no?
This insatiable giant did it the old fashioned way, they stole it. -- Brilliantly and magnificently looted consumers, turned them upside down, and shook the change out of their pockets. To date, no branch of government has done anything to end this outrageous gouging. Not a damned thing.
At the same time Exxon-Mobil was reveling in new found wealth, the oil industry was callously and craftily announcing the near-term probability of $3 a gallon gas, as crude prices are expected to top $70 a barrel as "President" Bush prepares to confront Iran over development of atomic weapons.
Hang
on to your wallet, folks.
-- Grab your ankles, drop your drawers, and prepare to take the
ungreased
shaft. Enjoy. After all, he's your
"President," isn't
he? ... A Nazi, who has always done whatever he could to line
the
pockets of the business community. Particularly, Big Oil.
In a 58-42 vote, the full Senate confirmed Bush nominee "Judge" Samuel A. Alito to the Supreme Court. Every Republican and 4 Democrats voted in favor of the Nazi, and in effect, against what little remains of civil and constitutional rights and liberties. Every damned senator who voted in favor should not be returned to office.
Senators Kerry and Kennedy led a valiant effort to filibuster this outrageously unfit nominee who will turn the Court back forty years. Both men could only muster some 24 votes to continue the filibuster, meaning approximately half the Democrats gutlessly refused to support it. Every damned Democrat who would not filibuster should be given the boot by constituents.

Alito will now join
three other bona fide Nazis currently sitting on the bench,

Roberts, Scalia, and Thomas.
All four will continue to "legislate" their perverse ideology and
religious
views from the bench. The Court is now made up of four Nazis
and
five less radical fascists.

To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been
received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint
filed.
Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues,
