Roberts Stonewalls Judiciary Committee    September 15, 2005

For three days, Supreme Court Chief Justice nominee John Roberts stonewalled all attempts by the Senate Judiciary Committee to ascertain his views on issues extremely important to the American public.  He should not be confirmed.  After all, the people have a right to know precisely who and what is being appointed to a life-term on the Supreme Court.

Underlying the stonewalling, is the phony issue of judicial "impartiality."  No judge is impartial.  Every damned one of them brings an agenda to the bench.  Professed "impartiality" is a sham.  There is no way in hell, on earth, or in heaven, that a human "judge" is able to divorce his judgment from his personal experiences, beliefs, principles, background, etc..

Anyone who claims to do so is lying, -- either to himself or the public.  The Republicans and Democrats both know this, yet take turns playing the same disingenuous game depending upon which party is doing the nominating.  No question, the "President" would not have appointed a Right Wing fascist to the Supreme Court if all he was interested in was "impartiality."

Mr. Bush expects Roberts to "legislate" his perverse fascist principles and ideology from the bench.  Otherwise, he would have appointed someone from the Center or Left.  It is that simple.  For Bush and his henchmen to claim otherwise is the height of hypocrisy and demonstrable BS.

"President" Nose-Diving In Polls    September 15, 2005

Things are not going well for ole" George "The Tush."  Iraq continues to be an unmitigated disaster.  Indiscriminate killing by insurgents has stepped up in retaliation for the latest joint American-Iraqi offensive.  Military commanders hollowly attribute it to "desperation" on the part of insurgent forces.  In reality, it is Mr. Bush who has grown increasingly desperate.  His Iraq fiasco is an abysmal failure.  Fortunately, a growing majority of Americans are finally waking up.

While hurricane victims were dying in misery, the "Commander In Chief" remained on vacation two days after the catastrophe.  While survivors desperately needed water, food, medical attention, shelter, evacuation, etc., Mr. Bush sat on his ass and urged Americans to "pray."  Finally, a growing number of people are beginning to understand ole' George is no leader, -- just a fascist desperate to impose his ideology.

Six days after the hurricane struck, Bush praised former FEMA director Michael Brown: "Brown, you're doing a heck of a job."  Several days later, Brown became the fall guy for a failed "Administration," and got the boot.  -- Amusingly, was dumped quite unceremoniously by Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff.   Interestingly, it was "Vice President" "Slick Dick" Cheney who instigated the change, -- not Chertoff as falsely implied by the "Administration."

Neither man has had any experience in disaster recovery.  Both were appointed as reward for political services rendered during Bush's run for the presidency.  -- Brown even lied on his resume, claiming disaster experience he didn't have.  But was vetted anyway.  Imagine that.  Nothing quite like political patronage, no?

Worst of all, the entire hurricane catastrophe is proof-positive the United States is not ready for a terrorist attack.  -- Despite expenditure of billions, and evisceration of civil and constitutional rights and liberties, falsely in the name of "national security."  The "President" has been so wounded by steeply declining support he finally did something he has never done before.  --Accepted "responsibility" for the failure.  ... Whatever the hell that means.  Rings hollow, however, when there is no accompanying resignation.

Seventy percent of whites believe the relief fiasco not to be racial in origin.  Conversely, 70% of blacks believe it to be quite the opposite.  The racial divide is immense and growing.  While there is no question the "President" and his henchmen are closet bigots, the slow response is not due to racism, but systemic indifference to poverty.

Had the disaster occurred in Orange County, California or Palm Beach, Florida, the response would have been quite different.  Money talks.  People on the bottom are good for one thing and one thing only to corporations and the rich.  It's how the rich and corporations get richer, -- off the backs of those on the bottom.

Loot them for their necessities.  Ensure the minimum wage is not a livable one.  Line your pockets and laugh your ass off all the way to the bank, -- after properly giving thanks to the Creator each Sunday for your good fortune.  Don't share the wealth.  Pocket it.  Eviscerate all social programs, -- even though they return some of the wealth looted from those on the very bottom.

... Even though these very same programs have wisely reduced the likelihood of a revolution by those on the bottom.  Enlightened self-interest that escapes the Fascist Right.  ... If a livable wage was indeed the law of the land, there would be very, very little need for welfare anyway.  Then again, how would the rich and rich "wannabees" have all the luxuries and wealth they currently enjoy.  They do so off the backs of the people on the bottom of the food chain, -- who are little more than indentured servants.  Precisely, what the "haves" desperately want them to be.

After all, it is indeed a zero-sum game.  -- Despite claims of fascist blowhards such as Rush Limbaugh to the contrary.  It is shameless class warfare waged on the people on the bottom by those higher up the chain.  Incredibly selfish people who never get enough, -- and never will.
... Right, Rush?

"Personal responsibility" is an exceptionally useful concept and way to control the masses.  Precisely, why it is seldom applied to those in power, -- whether corporate or government.  Exactly, why the "President," his henchmen, the GOP, and the Fascist Right do not want to hold officials responsible for the Katrina fiasco.

When an outrageously fascist "President" claims he accepts "personal responsibility," it is meaningless.  After all, he has not resigned, has not been impeached, convicted, and removed for office.  -- Not only for Katrina, but Iraq, the "war on terror," and the evisceration of civil and constitutional rights and liberties, falsely in the name of "national security."

FEMA remains AWOL in hurricane-stricken areas.  Insurance companies are already shafting storm victims.  Recovery will be a long, painful, extremely expensive process.  While $867 million has been privately donated so far for Katrina, it is a drop in the bucket compared to the estimated $300 billion to be spent by federal authorities for re-building.  ... In an area that will likely again be destroyed in the future by another hurricane.

The Fascist Right has heretofore loudly claimed private charities can handle the needs of the poor and disaster survivors.  It is simply untrue.  They don't have the resources.  Only the federal government does.  Worse, why should the poor or disaster survivors be subject to proselytization for a sandwich, shirt, or place to sleep?

Why is the Fascist Right so insistent on creating a "Christian" theocracy, -- in direct violation of the First Amendment?  ... We are a country of many religions, -- and none.  Where all belief systems must be tolerated.

An unjust unprovoked war rages on in Iraq.  Bin Laden remains at large.  The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments have been eviscerated in the name of "national security."

The deficit is the worst it's ever been and increasing.  An exceptionally fascist Chief "Justice" is about to be confirmed.  Fuel prices have been artificially and severely inflated, the public shamelessly gouged.

The list can go on and on.  Yet, the American people continue to tolerate the intolerable.  ... We get what we deserve.  Aggressive stupidity must be rewarded, and will be like we've never seen before.  Darwin's "natural selection" process and "survival of the fittest," clearly at work.

Lt.Gen. Honore Redeemed  September 13, 2005

In a remarkable turn of events, Lt.Gen. Honore quickly got off his ass and acted like a commander.  His troops are finally in place and doing a great job in the hurricane-stricken area.  Order has been restored.  People have been evacuated.  Recovery operations continue.

FEMA, however, continues to be an unmitigated bureaucratic disaster.  The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.  Waste is enormous.  Freight is not reaching targeted areas.  Relief forces are being denied permission to do what they do best.  Medical staff have been sweeping floors rather than practicing medicine.  FEMA is a nightmare.

When the military receives an order to deploy and has proper leadership, it does a job second to none.  Hat's off.  The extremely slow deployment is not the fault of the military.  It is the responsibility of the "President."  State and local officials also share blame.

There is a desperate need for an independent investigation.  Republicans in Congress are stonewalling, fearing the "President" will drop even further in the polls.  There will, however, be a steep political price to be paid at mid-terms, and the next presidential election.

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
