John Roberts Nomination Elevated To Chief Justice September 5, 2005
Quickly
reacting to the death
of Chief "Justice" William Rehnquist, the "President" elevated the
pending
earlier nomination of "Judge" John G. Roberts to replace Sandra Day
O'Connor,
now, to Chief Justice. Cowardly Democrats will likely
capitulate
and support Mr. Bush's outrageously fascist nominee, refusing to
filibuster.
Foolishly, saving their fire for Sandra Day O'Connor's
replacement.
... When they should be digging in their heels and fighting every
damned
fascist who is nominated to the High Court. Instead, they
continue
to pander to the Fascist Right and behave as GOP "wannabes."
Reportedly,
approximately 200
New Orleans police officers walked off the job and resigned.
Two
others committed suicide. None of the
officers who quit should
ever be employed in law enforcement again. Anywhere.
Mr. Rehnquist, 80 and suffering from thyroid cancer, expired Saturday evening at home with his family. The "President" and others immediately reacted with fervent accolades and unbridled praise.
While indeed loathe to speak ill of the dead, truth, accuracy, and principle demand otherwise. Mr. Rehnquist sat on the High Court 33 years. During that time, he fervently "legislated" his perverse ideological principles from the bench.
Consequently, civil and constitutional rights and liberties were eviscerated during his tenure. The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments severely weakened. Police powers exponentially increased. A woman's right to do as she damn well pleases with her uterus progressively abrogated.
Federal power has been consolidated and increased. Police have been militarized. States' rights ignored. State of the union is severely fractured and the nation hopelessly divided. Privacy has been eviscerated.
Sadly, all the above and far more, will be the perverse legacy of the late Chief "Justice." -- The Founders must indeed be spinning in their graves. Yet, the country will be subject to deliberate distortion of reality and bastardization of the truth the next few days as Mr. Rehnquist is laid to rest.
In Nazi America, day is night, night is day, and manure smells sickeningly sweet. Worse, the future does not bode well. The fascist currently occupying the White House now has two opportunities to load the Court with nominees who will move it even further to the Far Right.
Regardless,
the sad ultimate legacy
of Mr. Rehnquist will be that of a fascist who truly turned the Supreme
Court into a kangaroo Nazi bastion of the Extreme Right.
Finally, the federal government appears to be reacting to the catastrophe. Still, however, too many press conferences and empty rhetoric, too little action. Refugees continue to be bussed out of the "war" zone. Criticism of the "President" and federal officials mounts.
Over sixty nations have offered the United States assistance. -- Silencing the Fascist Right and its criticism of foreigners and their supposed lack of generosity. Even long-term adversaries have offered help, including China, Iran, and Cuba.
The
U.S. to date, however, has
not accepted any aid. Why? Not
only does this country
desperately need assistance, accepting such might
even generate
a thaw with our enemies.
...
Can't have that, can we?
The Aryan arrogance of the fascist ensconced in the Oval Office won't
allow
it.
Sickeningly,
supplies continue
to trickle into hurricane-ravaged areas at a snail's pace. Where's
the federal government? Troop convoys?
Five days after the catastrophe, supplies and the military continue to trickle into New Orleans. Troops have been ordered to shoot to kill, if necessary, to return law and order into the stricken area. The situation continues to worsen as refugees are bussed into Texas and elsewhere.
"President" Bush visited the area today, carefully avoiding worst hit areas and marauders. Laughably, ole' George "The Tush" has been forced to admit the response to date has left much to be desired and is "unacceptable."
Yesterday when sharply questioned by media, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff blamed victims, who did not evacuate as ordered before the catastrophe, for compounding problems now faced by government authorities. -- Nothing quite like passing the buck, no?
... Hey, Mikey? Approximately, one hundred thousand people indeed remained behind. Not by choice, you jackass. They were mainly poor people with no cars, incapable of leaving. Neither federal or state authorities made any provisions to evacuate these victims, -- due to budget considerations.
Worse, the Army Corps of Engineers for years has begged for additional funding to improve the levees that failed and flooded New Orleans. One former FEMA official was fired by the Bush "Administration" for publicly complaining about the lack of funding.
As the nation sadly turned Right Wing and fascist, the poor have been neglected in our formerly great country. This is not just a Republican problem, however. Democrats have indeed become the shills of the GOP and are no more than gutless Republican "wannabees."
Capitalism is indeed the best system in the world. It does benefit the greatest number of people. It does so, however, off the backs of the poor. Despite claims to the contrary by fascist blowhards such as Rush Limbaugh, capitalism is, by design, a zero-sum game.
Precisely, why social programs have historically been instituted to redress problems generated by greed, -- both personal and corporate. Also, why we have a graduated, "progressive" income tax system, intensely despised by the hopelessly greedy.
The
Fascist Right, however, has
intentionally and deliberately destroyed the social safety net in our
once
great country. -- Exactly, why problems generated by Katrina
will
be even worse than they might have been. The chickens are
finally
coming home to roost for the Right, Republicans, and their Democratic
shills.
About time.
Conditions are rapidly worsening for storm survivors. No food, no water, no shelter, no medical care, etc.. The federal government has been extremely slow to react. No question, rhetoric over substance.
People are desperate and the situation is quickly deteriorating. Looting continues unabated. Someone fired at a military helicopter evacuating refugees from the Superdome. Consequently, all efforts to remove survivors from the stadium were temporarily suspended.
The "President" and his henchmen appear to be oblivious to the scope of the catastrophe and desperate need for immediate relief. Mr. Bush plans to make a visit to the area later this week. No question, he'll be kept far from marauding survivors and increasingly testy refugees, tired of living under exceptionally difficult conditions since Monday.
The
"President" has been extremely
vocal about urging Americans to donate, and has asked Daddy Bush and
President
Clinton to spearhead a fund-raising organization similar to the tsunami
charity. ... While fellow Americans in dire need desperately
wait
for drinking water, food, medical supplies, shelter, and a return of
law
and order in hurricane-stricken areas.
...
Wake up, George.
In biblical proportions and straight from Hell, Katrina mercilessly mauled Gulf states in its murderous path. Creating a war zone, the hurricane leveled homes, businesses, anything, everything in its way. Loss of life stats, still unknown, are horrendous. Worse, will sadly grow since it is extremely difficult to reach devastated areas.
The catastrophe has indeed brought out the best, -- and worst in people. At the same time most are behaving exceptionally heroically and selflessly, others are looting and marauding. There is little shelter, food, clean water, medical care, etc.. The refugee problem created by the storm is enormous, and long-term.
While help, supplies, and emergency workers are arriving from across the nation, only the military has the resources, equipment, and training to quickly respond. In mass. Sadly, our best and brightest are spread across the world. ... At a time when desperately needed here.
The "President," vacationing in Crawford, has been slow to act. Cutting short his stay in Texas, ole' George "The Tush" finally left for Washington, -- two days after Katrina struck. People are in dire straights and yet the bureaucracy is busy holding press conferences, patting each other on the back, instead of immediately air-dropping food, water, medical supplies, etc..
Mr. Bush and his cronies knew late last week Katrina was indeed vicious and the likelihood of catastrophe was enormous and immanent. Yet, military resources were not immediately mobilized. Consequently, people are dying of desperately needed necessities. Worse, many are turning into savages. Gangs armed with weapons looted from businesses are roaming New Orleans.
Shelters are not safe, many are leaving. Yet, Washington has yet to mobilize all resources. Instead, bureaucrats are sending teams to assess and determine need. -- When storm survivors desperately need water, food, clothing, shelter, medical care, etc.. Dialysis patients have received no treatment for days and will likely die. Heart patients, cancer patients, and the elderly go without care. -- While the "President" and his henchmen "organize" and slap each other on the back for the "great" job they're supposedly doing.
The
"President" has falsely claimed
price gouging of gasoline would not be tolerated. Yet, it
skyrockets
by the hour for no reason other than greed. ... Throughout
the country
even where there are currently no shortages. Mr. Bush is
taking care
of his cronies in Big Oil at the expense of the people. Yet,
the
aggressively stupid public continues to tolerate the intolerable. In
Nazi America.
Nearly
a thousand Iraqis were
killed in a stampede on a bridge, frightened by four mortar shells
exploding
nearby. Panic was compounded when false rumors of suicide
bombers
were spread by insurgents throughout the group of people on a religious
pilgrimage.
