"President" Signs Energy Bill August 8, 2005
With great fanfare in New Mexico, "President" Bush finally signed the long-awaited energy bill into law. Sadly, this legislation will provide energy companies with at least $11 billion of tax breaks, i.e. corporate welfare. ... At a time when oil companies are reaping record profits, courtesy of looted consumers.
The statute will provide no near-term relief of gas prices. It does not force vehicle manufacturers to increase fuel economy. It does not allow new Alaskan drilling. Does not provide for energy independence any time in the foreseeable future.
Regardless,
it is a gift to energy
companies who have gotten most of what they sought from their man in
the
White House. Sadly, freedom of information requests have been
"legally"
denied, protecting Bush and his corporate cronies from
exposure.
... How sweet it is, right, boys? The
aggressively stupid
public has again been fleeced. Enjoy.
The
following is a series of unedited
email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and
this
writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year
ago.
To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been
received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint
filed.
Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues,
-- or is wildly incompetent. You decide. ACLU-Criminal
