London Police "Apologize" For Killing July 24, 2005
On July 22, London plainclothes police chased, threw to the ground, and then shot to death a 27-year-old Brazilian named Jean Charles Menezes. The victim was not a terrorist, had nothing to do with the recent London terrorist bombings. ... An admission by police, who subsequently and hollowly issued an "apology" for the killing. Heartwarming, isn't it?
As in the United States under similar circumstances, nothing will likely happen to officers involved in the atrocity. Perversely, most likely they'll be hailed as courageous "heroes" "just doing their job." Despite the fact, they wantonly and gutlessly killed in cold blood.
The officers were not uniformed. Initially, it was alleged Menezes did not speak English. Now, claims have been made that he did. Regardless and although we'll never know for sure, he likely thought he was chased by criminals. In a similar situation, who wouldn't?
-- Especially when unarmed and defending oneself against three armed lunatics giving chase. This killing was not a "mistake." It is murder. Yet, no one will be held accountable.
Sadly,
under the circumstances,
there is no moral difference between police and the "terrorists" they
hunt
and kill. ... At least some of whom are not
"terrorists" at
all. Perversely to the fascists in England, however, the ends
justify
the means.
Normally unarmed London police have been given orders to shoot to kill. They did so yesterday, killing a reportedly unarmed "suspect" they chased into the subway system, knocked to the ground, and then shot five times. According to witnesses, plainclothes officers reportedly held him to the ground while he was killed.
The word "reportedly" is used because no one in authority is confirming exactly what happened and why. Worse, no one in the London or American media is asking pointed questions and demanding answers.
If events are as witnesses have described, how are London police any different in principle than "terrorists?" Should police in the United States blatantly adopt similar tactics, wantonly killing anyone they chase who won't stop running, it will be time for revolution.
After all, since when is it constitutional for police to become judge, jury, and executioner? ... Or does the "war on terror" "justify" egregious abrogation of civil and constitutional rights and liberties?
If so, terrorists win. Americans lose. And, without question, it is time to overthrow repressive fascist government. Franklin wisely asserted over two hundred years ago anyone willing to trade liberty for security deserves and winds up with neither.
The fascist occupying the White House has treasonously given the enemy a victory it never could have earned on the battlefield. He has violated his oath of office, should be impeached, convicted, and removed from power.
Yet, Mr. Bush continues to lie to the American people, abrogate civil and constitutional rights and liberties, and falsely claim the "war on terror" is about "defending liberty" and "standing for what we believe in."
The
"President" is a liar, and
has remarkably easily deceived the American people. ...
Gutless citizens
who have bought the "President's" carefully crafted deception hook,
line,
and sinker.
Along party lines, gutless fascists in the U.S. House voted early this morning to renew the USA "Patriot" Act. "Roving" "search" powers will continue without benefit of a warrant. Federal thugs will continue to be "authorized" to access patron library records, patient medical records, and consumer financial records with no warrant.
In
addition, "sneak and peek"
"searches" will continue unabated, -- where federal thugs break into
someone's
home or business without telling them until much later, if
ever.
In direct violation of the Fourth Amendment, -- which no longer exists
in our formerly great country. The bill will go on to the
Senate
where differences will have to be ironed out. In
Nazi America.
In gutless knee-jerk reaction to yesterday's London bombings, New York City police are now randomly searching bags of subway travelers. Refuse consent? You get booted off mass transit.
Only a matter of time, however, before such "consent" is no longer required. After all, the Fourth Amendment no longer exists in our formerly great country. What will police options be? Shoot someone who refuses "consent?"
Why
not? We live in "dangerous"
times, don't we? "Security" demands no less, right?
The ends justify the means, don't they? In Nazi
America.
At 10 AM London time, plainclothes police officers chased one of yesterday's alleged bombers into the subway, onto a "carriage" (subway car), and shot him dead.
Subsequently, police reports now say he was not one of yesterday's bombers, but was sought nonetheless as an associate. ... Which is it, boys?
Contradictory reports and accounts by London law enforcement in regard to recent bombings leave police credibility in the toilet.
Reportedly, the killed "terrorist" was carrying no bomb. London officers did not disclose, however, whether or not he was armed at the time he was killed.
No problem, right? The ends justify the means, don't they? Especially, in a time of terror, no? Shoot 'em dead, -- like the animals they are, right?
Why bother with a trial? Why waste time with needless formalities? After all, police are operating in the best interests of the people, aren't they? Don't they always? Let them be judge, jury, and executioner, right?
...
Despite the fact the alleged
bomber would have been far more useful alive to
authorities regarding
information he could have provided. Then again, wouldn't want
to
confuse anyone with the truth, no?
Four more London bombings occurred during the noon hour today. ... Remarkably similar to those exactly two weeks ago, three in the subway system and a fourth on a bus.
This time, however, the bombings fortunately turned out to be a "fizzle", apparently only blasting caps detonated, not full charges. Luckily, there was no loss of life. Just one person injured.
Apparently, terrorists "forgot" how to make bombs that work, -- remarkably over two weeks. Imagine that. Lucky for Londoners, no?
What's
wrong with this picture?
Especially,
in view of continuous contradictory information provided by law
enforcement
authorities since the earlier bombings.
Supreme Court nominee "Judge" John G. Roberts wasted no time making "courtesy" visits to U.S. senators poised to conduct hearings on his nomination. No question, Mr. Roberts is "wowing" both Republicans and Democrats with his glib, polished, ingratiating personality.
Democrats, however, assure "questioning" will be intense and probing. ... Is that right? Republicans feverishly insist Roberts will not have to answer any questions on issues that may come before the Court, such as abortion. Convenient, isn't it?
Disingenuous and dishonest as well, since there is no such thing as an "unbiased" "impartial" judge. They all bring an agenda. Every damned one of them. They all "legislate" their views from the bench. Whether Left, Right, or Center. -- To argue otherwise is to deceive oneself, or the audience targeted.
If Roberts refuses to discuss his views on abortion as well as civil and constitutional rights and liberties, he should be filibustered. If unable to filibuster, Democrats should walk out of the Senate, denying Republican fascists a quorum.
...
Whatever it takes to prevent
a bona fide fascist from being appointed to the high court.
Highly
unlikely, however, since Democrats will likely do what they usually do,
-- roll over.
The "President" has nominated DC Circuit Court of Appeals "Judge" John G. Roberts Jr. to be the 109th Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. "Judge" Roberts is a graduate of both Harvard College and the Law School. Indeed, was at the top of his class.
He was Deputy Solicitor General of the first Bush Administration. Argued 39 cases before the Supreme Court. Mr. Roberts, disingenuously labeled a "conservative" by the Right, has argued Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision. He is an unabashed champion of the corporate world, with little to no regard for civil and constitutional rights and liberties.
The "Judge" is a remarkably genteel, glib, polished fascist who "legislates" his perverse "religious" views from the bench. At 50, he could conceivably sit on the Supreme Court for the next 30 to 40 years imposing his convoluted views.
"Judge" Roberts earlier clerked for the ailing Chief "Justice" when Rehnquist was Associate "Justice" over thirty years ago, learning at the hands of the master. Mr. Roberts, without question, is indeed a fascist in the mold of Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas. He will likely become the fourth member of the high court, if confirmed, to oppose abortion rights, -- as well as all other civil and constitutional rights and liberties.
It is the hallmark of fascist "jurists" to oppose individual rights and liberties, choosing instead to fervently support perverse increases in corporate and government power at the expense of individuals and individual rights. Clearly, the "American" way the last fifty years or so.
Working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion. ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.
In
2003, Roberts was confirmed
by unanimous voice vote in the Senate to his current judicial
position.
While he may be grilled by Democrats in pending hearings, it is highly
likely gutless Democrats will not filibuster, and, in fact, cowardly
join
Republicans in confirming this unabashed fascist to a life-term on the
high court.
