Independence Day 2005   July 4, 2005

It's early morning Independence Day, and the great Flag of the United States proudly flies, tattered and torn, above a nation deeply divided.  Red and Blue states.  Indeed, a critical moment in American history.  Civil and constitutional rights and liberties severely threatened, under direct assault as never before.

The "President" and his supporters have treasonously given the enemy a victory it could never have achieved on the battlefield.  Civil and constitutional rights and liberties shamelessly abrogated in the name of "national security" by outrageously unconstitutional laws such as the USA "Patriot" Act, Homeland "Security" Act, "Real" ID Act, etc., and equally unconstitutional Executive Orders.

Law enforcement agencies across the nation have been militarized.  The Fourth Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments eviscerated.  Habeas corpus, for all practical purposes, no longer exists in the United States.

Not only is it egregiously abused by police departments and corrupt prosecutors, but the "President" as well in his "detention" of "terrorism" "suspects" both here and abroad.  No access to courts.  No charges.  No prosecution.  Indefinite incarceration.  Until the war is over.  Twenty, thirty, fifty years down the road.  Ever?

"Detainees" are abused physically and sexually as they were at Abu Ghraib.  No one up the chain of command is held responsible.  No one in the White House, as well.  Prisoners are chained to the floor in their excrement at Guantanamo Bay and it has become unpatriotic, un-American to challenge such outrageous abuse.  -- Abuse that only sickeningly inspires our enemies to kill more of our troops.

The "President" has knowingly, willingly, foolishly, and treasonously squandered precious military resources and personnel in Iraq.  ... While allowing bin Laden, architect of the 9/11 catastrophe, to remain uncaptured.  -- With remarkably few resources committed to the search.  Why?  ... To avenge Daddy Bush's embarrassment at the end of Gulf War I.

Should the United States prevail in Iraq, it would embolden the "President" to repeat history, that is "pre-emptively" invade other nations such as Syria, Iran, North Korea, and elsewhere.
... Anywhere that meets Mr. Bush's definition of a lawless "terrorist" nation.  Using any excuse, true or not, to "justify" the attack to an aggressively stupid and cowardly American public.

The world consequently fears and views our formerly great nation as an imperialist power.  While this view may or may not be true, sadly, it is how the world perceives the United States.

The "President" has no intention of doing what is absolutely required to win the "war on terror."  That is, he remains unwilling to change policy in the Middle East and adopt an even-handed approach to the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

Worse, he continues to support the corrupt and abusive House of Saud in Saudia Arabia.  Both issues are precisely why the 9/11 catastrophe occurred.  This does not excuse the carnage, however.  It is simply why the atrocity happened.  Americans do not seem to understand or accept the obvious, because it does not square with the propaganda generated by the "President" and his shills.

This is not to say that if the United States wisely and immediately changes policy in the Middle East, that it would not have to kill or capture die hard al Qaeda fighters and other terrorists.  It does mean, however, that it would take the wind out of the sails of our enemies.  It would decrease support of the Muslim world for the terrorist element.

It would allow our troops to be better used going after die-hard terrorists using guerilla tactics, rather than occupying a recalcitrant country as sitting ducks, subject to easy attack by insurgents.  To say nothing of freeing additional special forces to capture or kill the ring leader of 9/11, bin Laden.

With a Supreme Court vacancy and a "President" determined to fill it with a Right Wing fascist who will fervently legislate his or her perverse "religious" views from the bench, it is only a matter of time before women will lose the right to do with their uterus as they damn well please.

Only a matter of time before fascists attempt to turn our formerly great country into a "Christian" theocracy.  ... How better to consolidate power and impose their perverse views on the rest of us?

Fascist "Christian" preachers fervently and sickeningly preach "submission of wives to their husbands." -- While their Neanderthal knuckles profusely bleed from continuous scraping on the ground behind them as they walk.

Worse, they falsely and disingenuously ascribe such principles to the Creator.  Claiming them to be the "Word of God."  Books of the Bible written by men.  Men, who perversely instruct "believers" to stone adulterers, fornicators, prostitutes, and gays to death.  As Moses, the supposed author, wrote in Leviticus.

This despicable prescription for "legal" supposedly "divine-sanctioned" murder is not inspired by the Creator, but by perversely ill men, determined to effectively control all human behavior.
... Fascist bastards, who perversely, obscenely, and sacrilegiously create a "God" in their sick image.

Additionally, both husband and wife are conveniently taught "submission" to government authority" by preachers,  -- no matter how corrupt and abusive that government truly is.  Supposedly, the "Christian" thing to do.  In Nazi America.

The perverse idea is to consolidate the chain of command, and all authority.  It sickeningly provides "comfort," "security," and centralized absolute power to fascists and their sycophants.  It destroys liberty and initiative.

It excuses abuse, and conveniently protects the Nazi bastards in power.  It "legitimizes" the deliberate bastardization of Christianity and perversely convolutes the teachings of Christ.  It cunningly takes advantage of the profound cowardice and near limitless aggressive stupidity of the American people.

Sadly, this Independence Day is the most dire in American history.  Yet, Americans will treat it as they have in years past.  Hot dogs and beer.  A day at the beach or lake.  Oblivious of the  threat to civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  Dearly paid for by the blood of millions of our soldiers since the first Independence Day.

-- Heads securely lodged in a bodily orifice seldom seeing the light of day, oblivious of the coming revolution in our once great country.  The Founders must indeed be spinning in their graves.  Wisely and forebodingly, they feared this day would come.  Made it quite clear they gave us a republic, ... if only we could keep it.  We haven't, and we're sadly about to pay the price.

Battle For Supreme Court On   July 1, 2005

This morning, the Supreme Court announced the retirement of "Justice" Sandra Day O'Connor.  O'Connor, 75, immediately gave no reason, but it is well-known her husband is suffering from Alzheimer's and needs her care and companionship.

Ms. O'Connor was the first woman appointed to the high court and remained on the bench for 24 years.  She is a Reagan appointee and considered a "centrist" "conservative" and swing vote.  A disappointment to the Fascist Right, however, she voted in favor of abortion, gay rights, women's rights, Affirmative Action, and other "progressive" issues.

Despite a "liberal" leaning in regard to those issues, she frequently voted along with Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas to eviscerate civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  She was the swing vote in Bush vs. Gore, and along with the majority enabled Mr. Bush to steal the election in 2000.  She will remain on the Court until her successor is confirmed.

Highly likely, the "President", who greatly admires Antonin Scalia, will nominate a fascist in the mold of Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas.  Should he do so, a battle royal will be joined on the Senate floor unlike any seen to date.  Will certainly make earlier Democrat judicial filibusters look like a walk in the park.

The future of this formerly great country hangs in the balance.  Should our outrageously fascist "President" successfully load the high court with a strong majority of fascists along the lines of Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas, remaining civil and constitutional rights and liberties will be obliterated.  Should that happen, time for a revolution.

The "President" quickly reacted with a claim he'll seek a "strict constructionist" to replace her.  Translation?  Mr. Bush wants a Nazi who will legislate his or her perverse "religious" views from the bench, and faithfully eviscerate all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

The stakes are so high Democrats should not only filibuster a fascist nominee, but leave the Capitol grounds if necessary to deny the Republicans a quorum in the Senate.  Hard ball?  No question.  With the future of our formerly great country in the balance, Democrats, independents, and dissenting Republicans should be ready, willing, and able to do whatever is necessary to block a fascist from being appointed to the Supreme Court.

Time Magazine Gutlessly Caves   June 30, 2005

Time Magazine reporter Matt Cooper made it quite clear he would rot in jail rather than disclose the identity of a source.  Earlier this week, Cooper lost his case before the Supreme Court.  This morning, Time Magazine management announced it would comply and release the reporter's notes, -- claiming we are a nation of laws and Time would obey the court order.

Is that right?  How are we a nation of laws, not men, when prosecutors, the courts, and even the Supreme Court have deliberately and knowingly abrogated the First Amendment and freedom of the press?  Repeatedly.

Forced disclosure of sources is an intentional tactic designed and imposed by government thugs to cleverly suppress freedom of the press and incisive investigative reporting. In direct violation of the First Amendment.  How else can government better cover its egregiously corrupt and abusive collective ass?

Time Magazine management has clearly indicated business considerations trump freedom of the press and support of its reporters.  This effectively guarantees the end of all investigative reporting at Time, since no source will come forward fearing disclosure of identity.

This is a gutless business decision by management, enormously pressured by financial considerations.  Certainly, not principle.  Should this decision stand, Time Magazine will become no more than a substance-less rag of fluff.

FBI Domestic Spying Authorized   June 29, 2005

"Legalizing" what has already gone on for decades, the FBI has been authorized to conduct formal domestic spying operations.  That is, FBI goons now have the "legal" authority to spy on American citizens who are not a target of a criminal investigation and have broken no law.  In the name of "national security." In Nazi America.  ... How soon the aggressively stupid and gutless public forget the outrageous abuses of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI during the 1950's and 60's.

Unconstitutional Executive Order Signed   June 29, 2005

Once again, the "President" has signed an outrageously unconstitutional Executive Order, apparently in response to 9/11 Commission findings, -- this time.  The government is now authorized to seize any and all assets of any individual or company which aids or abets foreign development of weapons of mass destruction.

No court order required.  No day in court.  No criminal charges or indictment.  The "President" has again unconstitutionally usurped the power of the judiciary, abrogated constitutional rights, and should be impeached.  Mr. Bush and his fascist shills can effectively declare any company or individual guilty and tie up all assets indefinitely.

No trial.  No due process.  Guilty until proven innocent.  In Nazi America.  ... Think this power will not be abused and selectively applied?  In retaliation against anyone who opposes the "President" and his equally fascist shills?

Bush War Speech   June 29, 2005

Troubled with dropping poll numbers and dwindling support for the war in Iraq, the "President" asked for television time to address the nation.  -- Not from the Oval Office, but before 700 troops stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina.

Initially, media was reluctant since the planned speech was not an address to the nation, but a pep rally.  -- Similar to the "Presidential" "Mission Accomplished" speech on an aircraft carrier two years ago, after Mr. Bush ceremoniously flew in on a Navy jet.

The networks subsequently agreed to air the speech during prime time last night, however, since it was a major address on the war.  Rightfully, so.

Ground rules for troops, used as a backdrop for the speech, were orders to be polite and follow military protocol.  They clapped once, -- after a Bush "Administration" advance man initiated applause after the "President" claimed America wouldn't cut and run.  ... According to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, the fight could go on another ten or twelve years in Iraq.

Mr. Bush asserted terrorists believe "free societies are decadent," -- precisely why they're supposedly fighting Americans in Iraq.  Is that right?

The "President" conveniently neglected to mention the fact they're fighting because the United States has not adopted an even-handed approach in the Middle East, continues to support the corrupt and abusive House of Saud in Saudi Arabia, and has occupied Iraq under false pretenses.

... Mr. Bush certainly wouldn't want to confuse the American public with the truth, would he?

The "President" claimed we're "removing [the] source of violence and instability" in Iraq.  Is that right?  His claim is laughably untrue.  If so, why is the enemy sadly and brilliantly kicking the crap out of "Coalition" forces?  Attacks continue unabated and casualty figures have sky-rocketed.  Mr. Bush is out of touch with reality, -- or deliberately lying.

Six times, the "President" falsely linked Iraq with the 9/11 catastrophe.  Despite the fact, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, -- a fact, Mr. Bush was forced to admit earlier.  Yet, he disingenuously and falsely continues to link both to "justify" his unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation.

The "President" would disingenuously have the public believe most insurgent fighters in Iraq are foreign and not supported by the Iraqis.  Not true.  Of 14,000 "detainees" in Iraq, only several hundred are foreign.  In addition, there are frequent demonstrations, by Iraqi citizens, protesting the presence of American occupiers.

Worse, the majority of Iraqi citizens do not routinely inform "Coalition" forces of the identity and location of insurgents.  Unlike "Administration" false predictions of American troops being greeted as liberators and showered with flowers and chocolates, our troops have been viciously confronted with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and sadly killed or maimed by an exceptionally determined and deadly enemy.

The most notable and hollow quote occurred, however, when the "President" disingenuously crowed: "As Iraqis stand up, we'll stand down."  ... Brings chills and goose bumps, doesn't it?

Mr. Bush claims Iraq will not become a terrorist haven.  -- Too late, George.  Has already happened.  ... Thanks to your unprovoked attack, under false pretenses, -- under the ludicrous guise of non-existent weapons of mass destruction.

... Despite strong assertions of weapons inspectors, prior to the invasion, of their non-existence.  Did not stop, however, a "President" determined to remove an admittedly brutal dictator no matter what.

--To avenge Daddy Bush's embarrassment 12 years earlier after Gulf I.  Iraq has indeed consequently become a mecca of terrorism due to the aggressive stupidity of the "President" and his shills in the Congress.  Then again, wouldn't want to confuse the public with the truth, would we?

Clearly from the well-delivered speech, the "President" has no exit strategy.  Nothing new in the address, only more of the same.

Much of the rhetoric was remarkably and chillingly reminiscent of that generated forty years ago during the fiasco in Vietnam.  How many more will be needlessly killed or maimed until the United States leaves Iraq as it will eventually do?  ... With its tail between its legs as it did in Vietnam?

Similar to Vietnam, the Fascist Right, frightened at the prospect of withdrawal, is shrilly labeling opponents, "whiners."  Sadly, the "President" and his fascist shills convolutedly believe to leave Iraq now would render meaningless the deaths and sacrifice of all casualties to date.  -- That line of "thinking," effectively ensures the war could go on forever.

It is incredible and unconscionable the Right can never admit a mistake and move on.  Rather, the fascist element in our once great country is more than willing to accept additional new casualties to "justify" the sacrifice of over 1700 dead and 12,000 maimed to date.  For crass political purposes, and enrichment of the defense industry.

The "President" grew quite emotional at the end of the speech last night.  Touching isn't it?  Especially, since the troops are not fighting and dying for freedom, but George's sorry ass,
-- and his corporate cronies.

Worse, while hypocritically extolling the military, the "President" and GOP have failed to adequately provide veterans' healthcare benefits, desperately needed by returning Iraq veterans.  Disgracefully, many of our veterans are homeless.  ... In a formerly great country that supposedly holds our military in such high esteem.

Abusive Driver's License Statutes & Regulation   June 28, 2005

Dangerously run a red light, stop sign, or speed, and your driver's license is not suspended.  You pay a fine.  Do the unthinkable and pass a stopped school bus, you're fined.  Your driver's license is not suspended, certainly not on the first offense.

Simply serve a drink to a minor or provide alcohol to someone under-aged, your driver's license will now be suspended for 6 months.  Starting September 1.  Despite the fact no traffic law was broken.

What's next?  Driver's license suspension for spitting on the street?  Why not?  Lawn too high?  Not properly mowed?  Why not?  What about littering?  Would cut down on the amount of trash, wouldn't it?

The Fascist Right certainly thinks so.  Precisely, why Texas Gov. Rick "Governor Blow Dry" Perry signed this "supplying alcohol to a minor bill" into law.

Fascists, determined to live in a police state, have always claimed driving is a "privilege" not a "right."  Time to re-think that nonsense.  Driving should be considered a "right" sanctioned by the Ninth Amendment, not to be infringed unless that "right" is criminally abused.  Outrageous?  Think again.

There are "implied" rights throughout the Constitution.  For example, where in the Constitution are police specifically authorized to kill with a firearm, use a nightstick, or a Taser?  Yet, they do have the constitutional right to do so under certain conditions.  Rightfully, so.

Freedom of speech is a "right" guaranteed by the First Amendment.  One cannot criminally abuse that "right," however, by falsely crying "Fire!" in a theater or making a terroristic threat.  Rightfully, so.

There are always limitations on any "right."  -- As continuously demonstrated by the five most "conservative" members of the Supreme Court who usually do all they can to abrogate individual rights and liberties.

Driver's license laws and regulations, however, have been abused by the states, -- to effectively control the population.  Can't afford to pay for auto liability insurance and drive without it, get caught, your license to drive can be suspended.  At the very least, you're fined.

... Despite the fact the state has done absolutely nothing to rein in greedy insurance companies.  In fact, quite the opposite.  It does all it can to aid and abet the insurance industry.  The Department of Insurance is proof positive.  ... At the expense of the public.

Doesn't matter if you're a good driver, have not hit anybody.  Get repeatedly caught driving without insurance, you lose your license and are severely fined.

Laws designed to coddle and protect hopelessly greedy companies are enforced with gusto by police pressured and eager to line government coffers with ticket money.  Not public safety.  It's the money, stupid.

That is not to say, however, people should drive without insurance, but that government should properly regulate insurance companies to ensure insurance is affordable.  This is the only way to increase compliance.

Suspending a driver's license for a crime totally unrelated to driving is proof positive government is desperate to control all human behavior, and abrogate whatever is left of freedom and liberty in our once great country.  In Nazi America.

Underage drinking, however, is indeed a problem.  Precisely, why the drinking age was increased to 21.  It has always been a problem, though, and always will.  -- One of the reasons it was reduced to 18 years ago was the fact it is an unenforceable law.

Sadly, the young will drink. No matter how draconian the law.  ... Even, if under-aged drinkers were executed to "save" them from alcohol.  Sadly, they consider it a rite of passage.  Always have, always will.

Increase of the drinking age to 21 has also increased the number of people with criminal records and impaired the future of young people, -- while doing relatively little to reduce the number of alcohol-related deaths and injuries.

Yet, the Right falsely continues to call for a fascist police state where all behavior is severely and strictly controlled.  Conveniently, ignoring the fact punishment does not effectively control long-term behavior.  Only education, loving proper upbringing, and parental involvement do.

Teaching by example is critical.  Parents who don't drink, or seldom do, usually have children who follow suit.  Regardless, life is extremely dangerous, and parents can only do so much to protect their children.  The same is true of government.  A police state can indeed reduce deaths, but at what cost?  Loss of freedom?

Supreme Court Eviscerates Freedom Of Press  June 27, 2005

In another direct attack on the First Amendment and freedom of the press, veteran New York Times reporter Judith Miller and Time Magazine reporter Matt Cooper lost their case in front of the Supreme Court when the Court gutlessly refused to hear their appeal.  Both had properly refused to divulge the identity of a source.

More than likely, Miller and Cooper will heroically continue to refuse disclosure and may be jailed. In direct violation of the First Amendment.  The Founders wisely protected media, -- next to revolution, the last check and balance against corrupt and abusive government.

Over the years, however, corrupt and abusive prosecutors and their shills on the bench have deliberately eviscerated freedom of the press.  After all, in a fascist police state, no government official can afford to tolerate exposure, -- or dissent.

Forced disclosure of sources is an intentional tactic designed and imposed by government thugs to cleverly suppress freedom of the press and incisive investigative reporting. In direct violation of the First Amendment.  Should a source be disclosed, no one will come forward with sensitive information, rightfully fearing exposure and retaliation.

This knowing, deliberate abrogation of First Amendment rights is incredibly egregious and in direct violation of the oaths of office sworn by Supreme Court "justices."  Once again, the Court has "legislated" from the bench its perverse views, and demonstrated acute unfitness for office.

With the New York Times succumbing to growing political and economic pressure from the Fascist Right, the substance and style of this formerly great paper is under change.  With massive hiring of "conservative" reporters and more coverage of Right Wing subject favorites such as "religion," can only wonder how much longer The Times will continue to fight freedom of press issues.

Before long, The Washington Times and FOX News, already unabashed sycophants of the "President", GOP, and their shills on the Right, may indeed become the fascist media icons of choice to be emulated by all media.  Exquisitely forced to do so by relentless financial and political pressure from fascists determined to impose their perverse views of "religion" and ideology on all. In Nazi America

Italian Authorities Nail 13 U.S. CIA Agents  June 27, 2005

For several days, the supposedly "liberal" media in the U.S. have deliberately sat on a story that could turn out to be quite a scandal for the Bush "Administration."

For years, the "President" and his henchmen have "rendered" captured "detainees" to other Third World countries to be tortured during "interrogation."

Seems the Italians have determined the identity of 13 CIA agents involved in the kidnapping of a Muslim Imam from Italian soil two years ago.  The cleric was "rendered" out of Italian jurisdiction, apparently to be tortured.

Now, Italian authorities are considering prosecuting all 13 agents.  Curiously, American authorities have had no comment.  Apparently, no decision has yet been made by the Bush "Administration" as to how best spin the fiasco.

Raises an even greater and certainly more dire issue, however.  ... How could trained CIA spooks have apparently so easily had their identities blown and activities discovered?

Amusingly, don't they routinely inform foreign allies when they intend to egregiously break local law?  ... To avoid this very kind of fiasco in "friendly" countries?

... Or has Aryan arrogance become so entrenched, and progressed to the point they believe they can do whatever they want by divine right?  Nazi America.

Supreme Court Ten Commandments Ruling   June 27, 2005

In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Ten Commandments monuments are not constitutional in government buildings.  In "historical" displays on government property, however, they are, -- according to the High Court.

Sadly, this exceptionally gutless, fascist Court decided to walk a tight rope, rather than clearly rule one way or the other.  -- "Justices" know all too well this is an issue that bitterly divides our formerly great country.

One side wishes to establish a "Christian" theocracy in direct violation of the First Amendment.  -- A theocracy based on the perverse bastardization of Christianity.  The other understands the dire implications of a state religion conveniently used to "justify" the imposition of fascism by the Right.

Moreover, iron-fisted "religion" preaching hellfire and brimstone is extremely useful in keeping the public in line.  After all, fascist preachers have long preached the necessity of believers towing the mark, -- and eagerly and willingly submitting to "lawful" "authority."  No matter how corrupt and abusive.

Negotiating With Terrorists   June 26, 2005

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Gen. John Abizaid, Commander, U.S. Central Command, both on Sunday news programs, claimed the United States is "facilitating" "talks" between Iraqi government officials and insurgent commanders.

American officials have also met with insurgents, including terrorists.  -- Although none, supposedly "with blood on their hands."  ... Is that right?

Asked if this was indeed "negotiating with terrorists," something the Bush "Administration" and earlier Administrations have steadfastly vowed not to do, Rumsfeld flatly said "no."

... Time for Rummy to look up the word "sophistry" in the dictionary.  ... [U.S.] "puppet," as well.  ... To say nothing of "hypocrisy" and "bullsh-t."

Incredibly, Mr. Rumsfeld is laying the blame on the media for declining public support for the Iraq war.  Wake up, Rummy.  The aggressively stupid and cowardly public is slowly beginning to waken.

Better do so yourself, Mr. Secretary, -- before the GOP itself receives a wake up call it'll never forget.

ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions

The following is a series of unedited email correspondence between the American Civil Liberties Union and this writer in regard to criminal deletions of Ledger websites over a year ago.  To date, no response, other than a canned autosponder message has been received from national ACLU headquarters to the latest complaint filed.  Apparently, ACLU no longer has any interest in First Amendment issues, -- or is wildly incompetent.  You decide.  ACLU-Criminal Website Deletions
