"Protection" Of Marriage Amendment Passes TX House May 20, 2005
A constitutional amendment banning gay marriage passed the Texas House earlier this spring. Today, the Senate similarly reciprocated, disgraced itself, 21-8. Too bad. -- Surprise, surprise, two-thirds of our "esteemed" senators are as bigoted and cowardly as the rest of us. Who'd a' thunk it, right?
Goes
on to voters for ratification
in the fall. Once again, homophobic bigotry has triumphed in
the
"great" state of Texas. Prejudice against gays and lesbians
will
now be constitutionalized should voters approve. In
Nazi America.
"President" Bush has his shorts all tied in a knot regarding a bill in the House designed to fund new stem cell research. Tough, isn't it? The hypocritical fascist is gravely concerned with recent advances achieved by South Korean researchers. Seems scientists can now take skin cell DNA and insert it into human eggs. The eggs are then destroyed when new stem cells are extracted.
Precisely, why Mr. Bush is so extremely agitated. He claims one cannot morally destroy life to save existing life. ... Say, what, George? Isn't that exactly what you're claiming to do in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere? Your hypocrisy is stunning, sir. Indeed, takes the breath away.
Stem
cell researchers are not
killing viable human life. "Fertilized"
eggs, whether normally
fertilized by sperm or created by injection of skin DNA, cannot
survive outside the laboratory,
--
or womb.
Eggs "fertilized" by injection of DNA are not, and should not, be implanted in the womb, however. Ethical researchers do not sanction human cloning. Moreover, it is rightfully against the law.
Mr. Bush's perverse "religious" objections to new stem cell research are now opposed by a growing number of fellow Republicans. ... Clearly and amusingly, not all members of the GOP are fascists, are they? Precisely, why the "President" is vowing to veto pending new stem cell research funding legislation.
Why is new stem cell research so important and vital? First, there is the real possibility of curing a number of debilitating diseases and injuries.
Second, existing stem cell line research is reportedly nearly exhausted and will not produce the results required.
Third, stem cells created by one's own DNA are less likely to be rejected as foreign after re-introduction.
While
the "President" freely kills
in Iraq and has no problems executing people, he is hypocritically
opposed
to the killing of non-viable human cells.
An amazingly interesting
perverse line to draw, isn't it?
The U.S. military is investigating abuse of POWs in Afghanistan by American personnel, including the alleged beating deaths of two innocent taxi drivers. -- Beaten so severely, their legs reportedly turned to pulp. Seven troops are currently targeted, with the investigation likely to expand to over twenty.
That's right. Taking over the House in 1994, Republicans severely criticized Democrats of abusing power. Rightfully, so. Now, they've once again proven they're no different. No better.
Republican Sen. Rich Santorum from Pennsylvania is sponsoring a bill that will make it illegal for the National Weather Service to provide free weather reports to the public. Incredible, isn't it? Believe it.
The senator wants private weather services to be able to sell weather reports to the public with no competition from the government. Yet, he wants these very same businesses to be able to continue to obtain weather information from the Weather Service free of charge.
Get
it? These corporations
obtain weather information free from the government, -- courtesy of
looted
taxpayers. Then, they charge the public
for information already
paid for by the taxpayers. Magnificent,
isn't it? Only
in Nazi America. Where day is night, night is day,
and manure
smells sickeningly sweet.
See the cozy Saddam photos recently splashed across the media? Including pictures of the former Iraqi "president" in his skivvies? ... Boxers or briefs? -- Definitely, briefs. Apparently, these photos were taken by American military personnel guarding the former dictator.
If so, publication of such photos is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions, prohibiting subjection of prisoners of war to public humiliation.
Yet, the United States deliberately violated the Geneva Conventions with impunity earlier when it subjected Saddam to video-taping shortly after capture, -- while being examined by a military physician.
Although disingenuously claiming otherwise, the only reason the United States video-taped the former dictator was to humiliate him in front of the world. ... It's how the "President" and his henchmen get their cookies off.
-- A direct violation of the Geneva Conventions and international law. ... Not supposedly as claimed, to prove to fearful Iraqis the admittedly brutal dictator had indeed been captured.
Then again, the United States does not believe the Geneva Conventions apply to the war on terror, -- although it claims to be supposedly following them.
Either we are, or we aren't. ... Which is it, Mr. "President?" Can't have it both ways, George.
This isn't about the rights of a former dictator, however. It is about future treatment of captured American personnel. ... Don't think our enemies will afford the same treatment to American prisoners of war? Or worse?
Precisely,
why the American military
and even our fascist "President" are rightfully disturbed by the
publication
of these photos, and have immediately launched an
investigation.
Mr. Bush, however, ludicrously does not believe they will lead to
further
unrest in the Muslim world.
...
Hey, George? -- Not
smoking that 'wacky tobaccy', are you, sir?
Joking aside, the "President" claims "barbaric" insurgents are motivated by their "hatred of freedom." Wake up, George. ... Aryan arrogance and aggressive stupidity are unbecoming, sir.
This fight is not about liberty or freedom. -- After all, you've already eviscerated both here through passage of outrageously unconstitutional statutes such as the USA "Patriot" Act, Homeland "Security Act", etc., and equally unconstitutional Executive Orders. Sadly, the list can go on.
Traitorously, you and your equally fascist henchmen in Congress have given the enemy a victory it could never have achieved on the battlefield. -- Terrorists couldn't care less about "freedom."
What they do care about is American unevenhandedness in the Middle East, American military presence there, as well as ongoing support of the hopelessly corrupt and abusive House of Saud through nearly unlimited import of Saudi oil.
Can you imagine the reaction of the American public to similar photos of "President" Bush, should he ever face incarceration prior to trial before the World Court for war crimes in Iraq?
For the senseless and inhumane deaths of over a hundred thousand innocent Iraqis? An attack prosecuted under false pretenses. "Justified" in principle by "intelligence" manufactured by the intelligence community at behest of the "President" and his henchmen. Think Americans wouldn't be as offended by similar photos?
Publication of humiliating photos of the former Iraqi dictator, unquestionably, will only inflame Islamic hatred of Americans, making the job of our military there exponentially more difficult and dangerous. The much larger issue, however, is the "Administration's" perverse interpretation and abrogation of the Geneva Conventions. ... Which will come back to bite us hard on the ass in the future.
Outrageously,
fascist Attorney
General Alberto Gonzales, earlier as counsel to the "President,"
claimed
the Conventions to be "quaint" and of questionable application in the
current
war. Sadly, however, the chickens are finally coming home to
roost.
In
Nazi America.
"... Two for the price of one?" Remember endless whining from the Right when Hillary Clinton was tapped by the former President to head efforts to reform healthcare shortly after his inauguration? Fast-forward twelve years.
Where is their outrage now when Mrs. Bush is similarly used by the "President" for blatantly political purposes? The current First Lady is embarking on a "goodwill" trip to "undo damage" done by Newsweek, and "rebuild America's image." Precious, isn't it? Damned hypocritical, as well.
... Hey, Laura? Too late, madam. Already, irretrievably damaged by your husband's unprovoked "pre-emptive" attack against Iraq, -- under egregiously false pretenses.
Irretrievably damaged, by "rendition" of "detainees" to Third World countries to be tortured during "interrogation."
Irretrievably damaged, by sexual abuse of POWs at Abu Ghraib, and ongoing abuse at Guantanamo Bay.
Irretrievably damaged, by atrocities allegedly committed by American troops in Afghanistan, including the beating to death of two taxi drivers. -- Beaten so savagely, their legs reportedly turned to pulp.
Sadly, the list can go on. Ironically, the retracted Newsweek story may indeed be true. Especially, since remarkably similar allegations have repeatedly come from earlier released POWs.
Then again, how do you prove it when the most secretive "Administration" in American history has deliberately, egregiously, and falsely stifled all information disclosure in the name of national "security?" To cover its outrageously inept, corrupt and abusive collective ass.
Damage
done by this "President"
to foreign public opinion and attitudes towards the United States will
take decades to repair. If U.S. foreign policy continues
unabated,
this formerly great country will become increasingly isolated,
despised,
feared, and hated by the world community.
That's right. Congress is considering legislation authorizing FBI agents to conduct warrantless searches of business records germane to foreign terrorism investigations. -- Unknown to most, the FBI reportedly already has that authority in 300 other types of criminal investigations, including healthcare fraud.
Understand? Federal thugs do not need court-issued warrants to access and seize records. The people are clearly no longer secure in their personal papers and effects. Without question, the Fourth Amendment is rapidly dying, or already dead.
Federal goons can access virtually anyone's business, financial, medical records, etc. with "administrative" "warrants" issued by themselves. Not signed or reviewed by any judge. Even private information required for mail service given to postal authorities is no longer protected by the Fourth Amendment. In Nazi America.
The Republican leadership has finally forced the issue on judicial filibusters, bringing the Priscilla Owen nomination to the floor of the full Senate. Should Democrats filibuster, the GOP intends to force a change in filibuster rules allowing simple majority to force cloture. Democrats promise to bring most Senate business to a halt if that happens.
Democrats have approved over 200 Bush judicial nominees. Literally, only a handful of the worst fascists have been filibustered. In fact, over 95% have already been confirmed. Not good enough for the "President" and the Grand Old Party. They want all confirmed. A change in filibuster rules would accomplish this since Republicans own the Senate.
It could, and would, come back to bite them hard on the ass, however, -- when no longer in the majority. The filibuster is designed to protect the rights of the minority party. Any change would profoundly alter balance of power and operation of the Senate.
One of the most effective checks and balances on egregious abuse of power by the majority would be lost. Precisely, why many seasoned Republicans do not want this change in the rules, but are being cleverly pressured and manipulated by younger Republican fascists as well as the "President."
Judge nominees are appointed for life, precisely why the most fascist candidates have been filibustered by Democrats. Should the rules change, any future Supreme Court nominee would be automatically approved in the current Senate. Exactly, what Mr. Bush desperately wants.
This is a fight about imposition of a totally fascist judiciary by the "President" and Republicans. ... In an effort to permanently eviscerate all civil and constitutional rights and liberties. Should the GOP be successful, a woman will no longer have the right to do with her uterus as she damn well pleases. Reproductive freedom, the most basic of all rights, will be lost. Should that happen, it will be time for a revolution.
Sadly, Texas Supreme Court Justice Priscilla Owen is a fascist judicial activist. She's "legislated" her perverse "religious" views from the bench in regard to abortion. Amusingly, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, while a Texas Supreme Court Justice himself, accused Owen of judicial activism in the very same abortion case. -- Claiming she went well beyond Texas law in her ruling. Imagine that.
"Judge"
Owen is also exceptionally
corporate-friendly, at the expense of employees and
consumers. Sadly,
she is outrageously unfit for the bench, yet our fascist "President"
can't
live without her. Despite the fact her nomination has been
stalled
for four years, she has not had the class to withdraw.
Clearly, she
has an ax to grind, -- on the necks of women, employees, and all those
concerned with an egregious loss of civil and constitutional rights and
liberties in our formerly great country.
Newsweek had been under enormous pressure to retract a story that alleged interrogators at Guantanamo Bay flushed a Koran down the toilet to intimidate and/or anger POWs. Much of the pressure came from the Bush "Administration." Newsweek finally capitulated, even though the story may indeed be true. Seems the use of sources had been questionable, however.
Although the story was retracted, remarkably similar stories have been told by earlier-released POWs. It is extremely difficult, however, to extract reliable corroborating information from the most secretive "Administration" in U.S. history. -- Far worse than the Nixon Administration some thirty years earlier.
Worse, mainstream media is in the pocket of the Bush "Administration" and its shills on the Fascist Right. -- Despite shrill, false claims to the contrary by the "conservative" element in our once great country. Most glaring example? FOX.
ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS, etc. are not much better, however. Still worse, there is little to no investigative reporting. By anyone. -- When the Right is targeted, funds and advertising immediately dry up. Precisely, why there is little to no credible reporting of some of the most glaring abuses of our time.
Whining by the Bush "Administration" and its shills in regard to the Newsweek retraction is amusingly and egregiously disingenuous. After all, our "President" and his henchmen have yet to fully cooperate and disclose the identities, hold accountable those responsible for the enormous intelligence failure that led to the false "pre-emptive" unjustified attack against Iraq.
Worse, it is more than likely intelligence agencies manufactured false "intelligence", demanded by the "President" and his henchmen, to "justify" the "pre-emptive" attack designed to remove an admittedly brutal dictator. Knowing damn well, the public would never have supported a war only to achieve regime change.
Laughably, "conservatives" have claimed the Newsweek story couldn't possibly have been true. -- Arguing, it is physically impossible to flush a book down a commode. Comically, it never occurred to them pages could indeed have been torn, and then flushed.
Proof-positive,
the Right
is ludicrously incapable of rational and/or profound thought, "thinks"
only simplistically in terms of black or white. No shades of
gray.
No brilliant hues of color.
...
God forbid. -- It might
terminally confuse 'em. Worse, might spark reconsideration of
their
perverse assumptions and beliefs.
