Rep. Tom DeLay Hypocrisy March 28, 2005
As reported below, Republican Cong. Tom DeLay led the congressional charge for passage of the Terri Schiavo Law, an unconstitutional effort to abrogate a patient's right to die. Turns out, Mr. DeLay and his family confronted a remarkably similar situation 16 years ago. ... After DeLay's father suffered severe brain damage after an accident that left him in a permanent vegetative state. Mr. DeLay and his family rightfully allowed the man to die.
Now, the Congressman, confronted by increasing ethical problems and possible indictment by Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle, has desperately chosen to deflect attention from his legal problems by using Terri Schiavo for political purposes. ... 'Ain't' hypocrisy grand? Once again, Mr. DeLay has successfully duped the dopes. -- The aggressively stupid public that gets exactly what it deserves.
Would you believe it? Two years ago, "President" George W. Bush launched an unprovoked, unjust war against Iraq. Under false pretenses, -- weapons of mass destruction that did not exist. Before exhausting all diplomatic efforts. Before weapons inspectors had a chance to complete their work.
Ole' George couldn't wait for hostilities to begin. Conveniently, moved the goal posts as things went south and the insurgency worsened. Conveniently, moved the goal posts when no weapons of mass destruction were found, falsely claiming "we" went to war to depose Saddam.
Did we? After all, highly unlikely the American public would ever have supported the overthrow of the brutal Iraqi dictator in the absence of any immediate, credible threat. There was none. Consequently, the "President" deliberately and shamelessly lied. ... To falsely "justify" an unjust, unprovoked attack on another sovereign nation.
Why would Bush do this? The giddy intoxicating effect of power. A delusional perverse belief the invasion was "God's will", and that he, the "President", was divinely "anointed by God" to lead the charge.
Two years after the fact, over 1500 U.S. military personnel have been killed in action. Over 11,000 maimed. Tens of thousands of Iraqis killed. Despite a successful election that to date has not led to peace or the organization of a strong Iraqi government capable of maintaining order, Iraq and the United States are less secure.
-- The situation so unstable and dangerous in the field reporters seldom venture from their hotels. Embedded reporters are few and far between, implicitly pressured to report "favorable" news. ... Otherwise, how do they remain embedded? Worse, the U.S. military and intelligence operatives continue to abuse, torture, and kill "detainees," -- reportedly.
Sadly, the enemy has brilliantly used the American invasion as recruitment incentive, a new breeding ground for terrorists. Yet, the Fascist Right in this country, and the "President", remain blissfully oblivious to reality. ... Falsely claiming the killings have been reduced and security increased after removal of the admittedly brutal former dictator.
Tragically, the "President" and his henchmen have the blood of all casualties on their hands. That of both sides. Having gone to war under false pretenses, Mr. Bush now has the unmitigated gall not only to "pray for peace," but to ask the public to do the same. For a war he started. Under false pretenses. Hypocrisy at its worst.
Only one question remains. Why hasn't this fascist bastard been impeached, convicted, and removed from office? ... Don't know why? Look in the mirror. Amusingly, the dopes have once again been duped. Comically, by an inept dolt. Who'd a' 'thunk' it? Only in America. Nazi America.
That's right. The "President" intends to sell bosom buddy Pakistan 24 F-16 fighter jets. Why? Apparently, appeasement and payback for Pakistani "assistance" in the "global fight against terror."
What "assistance?" Mr. Bush perniciously ignores the refusal of Pakistan to allow American troops to cross into its territory to search for bin Laden. Why? ... Hey, George? Either you're willing and determined to catch bin Laden, or you're not. Which is it, sir?
Just
as importantly, why shortsightedly
disrupt the balance of power between Pakistan and India, both nuclear
powers
and bitter rivals? Short-term political expediency?
The U.S. Supreme Court denied alleged 9/11 conspirator Zacharias Moussaoui the right to call captured alleged fellow conspirators from al Qaeda for his defense. In direct violation of the Sixth Amendment.
As all criminal defendants, Moussaoui is entitled: "to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor."
What part of the Sixth Amendment don't outrageously fascist "jurists" understand? The "justices" have disgracefully violated their oaths of office and should be removed from the bench. Denied the right to call witnesses for his defense, Moussaoui will likely be summarily convicted and executed. Kangaroo justice at its worst. In Nazi America.
Apparently, the government case against Moussaoui is so weak judicial shills of the "Justice" Department felt compelled to conveniently and gutlessly deny him access to witnesses, falsely claiming "national security" as an excuse to egregiously abrogate the Sixth Amendment. Any subsequent "conviction" will be no more than a sham. Nazi "justice."
If government can do this with impunity to a foreigner, who's next? Think it won't happen to an American citizen? -- Or hasn't already? Why bother with the charade of a kangaroo trial? Why not line the son of a bitch up against a wall and shoot him?
A bogus conviction in a kangaroo American court and summary execution will not legitimize a false prosecution. ... Only expose the "Justice" Department for what it is. A fraud.
Pressured by the Fascist Right and unwilling to accept 19 published Florida state court rulings over the last seven years, Congress unethically and unconstitutionally passed the Terri Schiavo Bill, abrogating states rights and the Tenth Amendment. The bill was quickly signed into law by the "President." At taxpayer expense, Bush flew back early to the White House to rubber stamp this outrageous piece of legislation, -- before continuing his taxpayer-funded Social Security political junket, a shameless sham. ... 'Ain't' hypocrisy grand?
Should federal courts become involved in this heartrending gut wrenching right to die case, profound ramifications could include federal involvement and participation in medical decisions. Patients could be forced to undergo unwanted surgery, chemotherapy, or any other unwanted medical procedure to prolong life. ... Abrogating choice and the right to die.
Conversely,
the precedent set
could also lead to Congress passing legislation ordering the plug to be
pulled if expenses become "excessive" or legislators decide on a whim
it's
time.
...
Exceptionally dangerous when
Congress becomes directly involved in any medical
decision making
and treatment.
Has already happened on the state level in Texas. While governor, George W. signed a bill into law allowing healthcare facilities to pull the plug in ten days after notifying the family of the patient. The "President", as Texas governor, desperately wished to protect healthcare providers from the financial burden of caring for patients requiring life support.
Now, as "President", Mr. Bush has taken the opposite approach and has desperately tried to keep Ms. Schiavo alive to appease his supporters in the Fascist Right. Interesting, isn't it?
Where does it stop? Divorces and many other traditional state issues could wind up in federal courts if this legislation stands. Determinedly, Congress has painstakingly "federalized" more and more crimes, falsely claiming states have dropped the ball. To placate an increasingly fascist citizenry.
Now, conveniently rejecting states rights, hypocritical fascists shamelessly invoke federal power to reverse "unacceptable" state court decisions. ... While howling bloody murder and bemoaning loss of states rights consequent to Roe v. Wade and legalization of abortion 32 years ago. -- Can't have it both ways, boys and girls.
Republicans, regardless, clearly no longer support states rights and desperately seek federal consolidation and exponential increase of centralized power. ... What bona fide fascist wouldn't? Wake up, dear readers. You've been duped. -- Amusingly, how easily. Over and over and over, again.
Gutless Democrats went along with the "President" and GOP, terrified of political consequences should they stonewall. -- Sadly, another indication there is no substantive difference between both major political parties. Voting for either is pointless and futile.
Congressional Republicans circulated a talking points memo extolling political benefits of passing the Schiavo legislation. Clearly, they couldn't care less about Ms. Schiavo herself. The bill was rushed through Congress, Republicans struggling to maintain a quorum. Embattled Texas Rep. Tom DeLay led the charge, desperate to draw attention away from ongoing severe ethical problems and possible indictment by Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle.
Republicans openly embrace a perverse "culture of life." ... Where unjust unprovoked war and executions have become routine and highly acceptable. -- While dictating to women what they can and cannot do with their uterus. Now, these outrageous Nazi bastards are denying dying patients and/or the severely brain-damaged the right to die in peace.
Forcing them to needlessly suffer and deliberately running up exponential medical bills that can never be paid by families subsequently bankrupted. Perversely, done in the name of "loving" "Christianity" and "Christian" principles. ... Little doubt Christ himself, however, would have been appalled at the greed and profound lack of true Christian charity displayed by these heartless fascists. In Nazi America.
