Got guts? Tired of being lied to? Like an alternative source of information truly independent and free of government propaganda? Want this publication to continue? Send a financial donation to P.O. Box 997, Buchanan Dam, Tx. 78609.
Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising. Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up. Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution. For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute. Furthermore, desperately need an additional laptop or desktop computer as back-up to a failing Dell Latitude notebook currently being used. Got one gathering dust in the closet? Care to donate? While conveniently accessing these webpages "free" of charge, never forget this publication remains non-profit and depends entirely on nearly non-existent community support. At the same time, Liberty In Peril is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance. ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few. T.C. 2-16-03.

Jack Patton was indicted
on two counts of Public Information Act violations. ... Who'd
a 'thunk'
it, no? Long-term readers will recall Mr. Patton repeatedly
stonewalled
all public information requests from this publication, and outrageously
attempted to extort funds from this writer for what was indeed public
information.
It is also quite true the Texas Attorney General's office refused any
assistance
and would not prosecute. Apparently, the scandal within the
District
regarding the ongoing financial disaster finally forced the issue, and
The
Buzz was able to get the Attorney General to do his
job. About
time. Of far greater concern then Public Information Act
violations,
however, is deep-rooted corruption that has yet to be addressed and
remedied.
Ole' George "The Tush" isn't a particularly happy camper. ... How dare France, Germany, and Belgium defy Die Fuhrer? The Nazi occupying the White House is furious all three vetoed a U.S. request that NATO protect Turkey should he invade Iraq. Tough, isn't it? ... Can't have your way all the time, George. At least three allies are demonstrating good sense you're sadly lacking, Mr. "President."
In response to the veto, Mr. Bush whined: "I think it affects the alliance in a negative way when you are not able to make a statement of mutual defense." Sadly, the "President" just doesn't get it, -- or is deliberately playing stupid. ... Has nothing to do about "mutual defense", George. -- Sadly, they're merely trying to slow a madman down.
Secretary of State Colin Powell,
quickly becoming a "company
man" and "team player", piously opined NATO has a legal obligation to
make
sure Turkey "is not put at any risk.'' ... Hey,
General? It's
the "President" placing Turkey at risk with his
plans to launch
an unprovoked attack against Iraq. Wake up, sir.
U.S. Air Force officers are already criticizing the planned bombing attack against Iraq as too soft. Seems the "President" and his henchmen wish to leave bridges, telephone lines, and much of the infrastructure intact. ... To make it easier on American forces during occupation, as well as rebuilding. The Nazi occupying the White House apparently believes the civilian population won't be quite as resentful.
Even if true, the jackass
appointed "Chief Executive"
apparently has forgotten Saddam and his troops have chosen to hunker
down
in civilian areas making it extremely difficult for invading forces to
keep casualities down and civilian losses to a minimum. ...
Also,
as of several weeks ago, bombing plans had apparently included leaving
electrical power intact in Baghdad. If true, mighty
convenient for
the Iraqi dictator and his minions, no?
At a meeting of GOP good old boys at a West Virginia resort, the Nazi occupying the White House struggled to explain his rationale for expanding the war on terrorism to a preemptive attack on Iraq: "Prior to September the 11th, there was apparently no connection between a place like Iraq and terror. There were concerns about terrorists in Iraq, but no fear about a threat to the American homeland. ... We were confident that two oceans could protect us from harm...the world changed on September the 11th...Obviously, it changed for thousands of people's lives for whom we still mourn. But it changed for America, and it's very important that the American people understand the change. We are now a battleground. We are vulnerable."
Wake up, Mr.
"President". Aggressive stupidity is
unbecoming, sir. "We are vulnerable" for one reason and one
reason
only. American Aryan arrogance in the Middle
East. --
The deliberate one-sidedness that has plagued American foreign policy
for
the last fifty years. Short-sighted exceptionally ignorant
policy
that, apparently, has a snowball's chance in hell of changing any time
soon. Consequently, anticipate increased terror and
bloodshed.
Should you launch an unprovoked attack on Iraq, expect an exponential
increase
in recruitment of young disgruntled Arab youth as terrorists.
Already,
al Qaeda is aligning itself with Iraq. Think other Arab
states will
allow American decimation of a fellow Muslim sovereign state with no
ill
effects or unwanted ramifications? ... Despite the fact
Saddam is
indeed a tyrant? Sadly, the world now sees the United States
as a
far greater menace and threat to peace than any two-bit
dictator.
Wonder why?
On Feb. 12, Democrats
courageously began their filibuster
of the Estrada nomination. Good to see some backbone finally
displayed
by the opposition. Only way to oppose the "President's"
fascist judicial
candidates in a Republican-controlled Senate. -- Candidates who will do
no more than legislate their perverse "religious" views from the bench
if confirmed.
Never confuse a fascist with the
truth. -- they're too
damned stupid to comprehend. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan
Greenspan
annoyingly
failed to follow the "President's" agenda. Wouldn't tow the
company
line regarding tax cuts for the richest of the rich. Tough,
isn't
it? Ole' Al rightly believes they'll merely raise the
national debt.
Duh. ... What's a dolt in the White House to do?
Continue even
more vigorously to greedily embrace welfare for the wealthy as Ole'
George
"The Tush" did the day after Greenspan dropped the bomb during
Congressional
hearings. ... Despite growing opposition in Congress, not
only from
Democrats, but members of his own party as well. ... No
accounting
for unbridled avarice, -- or aggressive stupidity, right, Mr.
"President?"
Americans United for Separation of Church and State filed two federal lawsuits challenging a faith-based prison evangelical Christian program run by Prison Fellowship Ministries at the Newton Correctional Facility in Newton, Iowa. Readers are reminded this group was founded by former Nixon henchman and convicted Watergate felon Chuck Colson.
Commenting on the program and the
two lawsuits, Rev. Barry
W. Lynn, Executive Director of Americans United declared:
"This program
contains everything that is also wrong with the president's faith-based
initiative. It uses tax dollars for pervasively religious programs,
allows
discriminatory hiring, gives preferential treatment to one religion
over
others, funds coercive conversion efforts and basically ignores the
whole
notion of a separation between church and state."
What's Nazi government to do? The "Justice" Department and "President" are in a quandry. Zacarias Moussaoui, as mentally ill and deranged as he apparently is, is not conveniently rolling over and copping a plea for a crime he did not commit. ... Must be tough, no, George? John?
Moussaoui has shrewdly demanded access to Ramzi bin al-Shibh, -- a terrorist mastermind Nazis in the American government do not want to produce either in court or by deposition. Phonily, for national "security" reasons. Are vigorously fighting to deprive the defendant of his constitutional right to confront his accusers and provide witnesses on his behalf.
Outrageously, the trial has been put on hold to give Nazi goons a chance to appeal to a higher court. Why? Although the defendant is an avowed member of al Qaeda and sworn enemy of the United States, the government has produced no evidence linking him to 9/11. In fact, officials within the "Justice" Department and intelligence agencies do not believe he had any involvement in the catastrophe. Yet, he remains incarcerated on false charges, with a trial that has been delayed. Again, why?
Seems the trial judge, Leonie M.
Brinkema, may have been
buying additional time to prevent the "President" and his henchmen from
dropping charges, and alternatively trying him in a military
tribunal.
... Where he could and would be denied access to witnesses in his
defense
and summarily executed after what would amount to no more than a
kangaroo
trial. In Nazi America.
Finally, some belated attempt at justice. Belgium has announced it wishes to try Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for war crimes committed during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982. -- Military action and tactics that had been strongly condemned by the Reagan Administration over twenty years ago. Not surprisingly, the Israeli government is outraged.
Unabashedly fascist Israeli Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opined: "We in Israel and the Jewish people as a whole have had enough of blood libels on the soil of Europe, and we are going to fight this one with everything we have...You load the structure, and then you see which parts stand and which parts fail. There is something deeply immoral and deeply distorted about what's happening in Belgium."
... Hey, Benny? Want to
know what's immoral?
Killing innocent Palestinians and Arabs in cold blood.
Illegally
using American-supplied F-16's in violation of U.S. export law, to
assassinate
Palestinian leaders in highly populated areas. Sadly, the
Israelis
refuse to withdraw from occupied territories and have become remarkably
like their oppressors during the Second World War. That's
what's
outrageously goddamned immoral, Mr. Netanyahu. Wake up,
Benny.
Before it's too late.
The number of people without
health insurance is rising
by the day. ... Most of them working. In Texas, 22%
of us have
no coverage. A staggering number compared to the national
average
of 14%. Think hospital bills are astronomical?
They'll only
get worse as more and more of us present ourselves for treatment in
emergency
rooms at advanced stages of disease and far greater cost. ...
Currently,
approximately $35 billion yearly.
In Nazi Amcrica day is night,
night is day, and manure
smells sweet. A federal appeals court in St. Louis, Feb. 10,
ruled
6-5 the state of
Arkansas can forceably medicate a prisoner
on death row
to make him sane enough to execute. ... 'Ain't' fascism
grand?
Writing for the majority, Judge Roger L. Wollman opined:
"Singleton
presents the court with a choice between involuntary medication
followed
by an execution and no medication followed by psychosis and
imprisonment...Eligibility
for execution is the only unwanted consequence of the medication."
Therefore, the ultimate consequence of the forced medication does not have to be considered, -- according to this stunningly astute legal mind. In dissent, Judge Gerald W. Heaney wrote: "I believe that to execute a man who is severely deranged without treatment, and arguably incompetent when treated, is the pinnacle of what Justice Marshall called `the barbarity of exacting mindless vengeance.' "
No kidding, Judge.
Don't confuse your Nazi colleagues
with the truth, however, Your Honor. They're too goddamned
stupid.

OUCH! A Regular
Bulletin on How Money in Politics Hurts You
#112 Public Campaign February 13, 2003

Budgeting for Hard Times
The economy is faltering. Tens of
thousands of people
are unemployed.
States, facing unprecedented funding
shortfalls, are
slashing social
programs. In tough times like this, it's
time to...hand
out paybacks to
campaign contributors? That's the logic of
the proposed
federal budget the
President George W. Bush announced last
week, which is
chock full of favors
for generous supporters--and full of cuts
for everyone
else.
First, and foremost, there's the
new $1.5 trillion tax
cut over ten years,
more like $1.8 trillion when the cost of
paying interest
on the resulting
national debt is added. (This is on top of
the cost of
the 2001 Bush tax
cut, which, with interest, is estimated to
cost $1.6
trillion over ten
years.) Federal Reserve Chairman Alan
Greenspan said
this week that adding
to the nation's red ink would be bad for
the economy,
and that tax cuts won'
t help. But the president's proposal
reveals a certain
logic when you
consider that it's the wealthiest
Americans, who are
the source of most
campaign contributions, who benefit the
most under the
tax plan. One out of
five political donors makes $500,000 a
year, and another
three out of five
make over $100,000, according to an
academic survey commissioned
by the
Joyce Foundation. That puts donors firmly
in the elite
group of Americans
who will benefit the most-the top 10
percent of earners,
who will get 60
percent of the tax cuts, according to
Citizens for Tax
Justice.
There's $400 billion over ten
years in the budget for
prescription drugs for
seniors, which on the face of it sounds
like good news.
After all nearly 40
percent of Medicare beneficiaries--the
federal program
that provides health
care to senior citizens and people with
certain disabilities--lack
coverage
for prescription drugs, according to the
Kaiser Family
Foundation.
Unfortunately, the cost of providing
needed drugs is
estimated more in the
neighborhood of $2 trillion says Families
USA--about
the same amount as the
new tax cuts will cost. The president's
plan also pushes
seniors into
private health plans as a condition for
receiving the
drug benefits. The
pharmaceutical industry, which has fought
hard to prevent
Medicare from
providing prescription drug coverage, gave
Bush $486,000
for his 2000
campaign. HMOs and insurance companies,
which would benefit
from the new
members they would get under the Bush
plan, gave him
more than $260,000.
Other generous campaign
contributors with cause to be
pleased by the
president's proposed budget include the
utilities, timber,
and oil and gas
industries, the source of $2.7 million for
President
Bush's 2000 bid for
office. Bush delegates $7.7 million for
his Clear Skies
initiative, which is
described as a plan to reduce air
pollution, but does
anything but,
according the Natural Resources Defense
Council (NRDC).
The plan "actually
enables industries to pollute more over a
longer period
of time, and avoids
regulating carbon dioxide emissions,"
notes the environmental
group. Then
there is the Healthy Forest initiative,
touted as a way
to reduce forest
fires in the West. The plan, however,
exempts logging
projects in public
forests from environmental review and
public input-making
it easier for
timber companies to cut down more trees
with the help
of public subsidies.
For the oil and gas companies, the budget
includes plans
to open the Alaska
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to
drilling, despite
the fact that Congress
has rejected proposals to do just this
numerous times.
With all these paybacks for
campaign contributors stuffed
in the budget, it
is no great surprise that there's not much
left for everybody
else. Rather
than expanding training, benefits, and
extending health
care to the
unemployed, the administration has
proposed a new program,
Personal
Reemployment Accounts, which would set a
new $3,000 cap
on the amount of
employment help workers can get from the
federal government.
There is little
in the budget to improve public
transportation, or to
refurbish crumbling
schools. The president has proposed ending
funding for
a program that pays
for the rehabilitation or replacement of
dilapidated
public housing
projects, and is also proposing to raise
rents for poor
people who receive
federal housing aid. In tough times like
these, apparently,
it's the
have-nots who get less, and the have-mores
who get more.

From 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the Post, located two miles east of 1431 on 2545 on Legion Loop, will be serving a scrumptious spaghetti dinner jointly sponsored by the Legion, Auxiliary Unit and Sons of the American Legion Squadron. Enjoy the appetizing pasta smothered in a delicious meat sauce with garlic bread, parmesan cheese, and salad with Ranch dressing, a gourmet dessert and beverage. Like Washington said to his troops just before crossing the Delaware, “You gotta eat somewhere!”
The Post is asking for donations
of $6 per adult and $3
per child under twelve years of age to help defray costs and contribute
to the Post’s many charitable programs for veterans, children and
youth.
Come one, come all and bring your friends.

The following News Release is for
immediate publication.
News Release
Klee Announces School Board
Candidacy
Harvey H. Klee, a local attorney, mediator and arbitrator, announced his intent to file for School Board Trustee, Seat 1, the position currently held by Tere Hutto. "With the Superintendent under a Grand Jury indictment
and the Board facing uncontrolled legal expenses, having an attorney on the Board of Trustees wouldn't be such a bad idea," stated Klee.
Mr. Klee writes a local newspaper column where he frequently comments on school matters. His writings have made people aware of the district's problems, ultimately leading to the current state audits and investigations now in process concerning possible mismanagement of district finances and unlawful practices. He is thoroughly familiar with the problems of the district and would come to the Board with fresh insights and viable solutions to those problems. His web site is: www.harveyklee.com.
When asked what he would hope to achieve if elected, Mr. Klee stated: "To restore the community's trust and confidence in the Board's leadership and provide our children with a quality education at a reasonable cost. It is important that every effort be taken to meet the state's educational mandates while at the same time, not throw the baby out with the bathwater in order to save money. There is no reason, however, that the district need expend $22.6 million plus, to educate less than 1900 children. I will do everything in my power to reduce the current school tax burden on the taxpayers. At the same time, I want to hear from the teachers as to what the district can do to help enable them to increase their efficiency and effectiveness in the classroom - with the Superintendent currently under indictment, they need all the support we can give them."
Last year, Mr. Klee was appointed by the Texas Education Agency to serve on the 2002 State Textbook AP Psychology Review Panel. He previously had been employed as an attorney to represent the California School Board Association on behalf of member school boards across the state. Mr. Klee holds a Community College Instructor Credential in Law and Business and Industrial Management. He has taught at the community college level for three years and most recently taught for two years as a full-time substitute teacher at Marble Falls High School.
He explains his reason for running this way: "I'm attracted to the challenge and the opportunity to serve my community at a time of its greatest need. Controlling a run-a-way budget almost three times that of Llano County and more than the County and City of Llano combined, is of top priority. Much needs to be done in the area of Board leadership, fiscal management and attaining educational objectives. I believe the good Lord gave me certain gifts and talents. It would be wrong for me not to use those gifts for the good of the community in which I live. Where else could I make a greater contribution for the children and citizens of Llano County?"
Mr. Klee is licensed to practice law in Texas and California and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal and several U.S. District Courts. Following his retirement from the active practice of law, Mr. Klee was appointed to serve as a Mediator for the 33rd Judicial District. He believes his mediation skills will come in handy working with Board members, school officials and the community at large.
Mr. Klee is a member of The American Legion, Kingsland Memorial Post No. 437. As an immediate past-Post Commander, he is a member of their Executive Committee and serves as their Judge Advocate, Advisor to the Sons of The American Legion Squadron No. 437 and is Chairman of their Americanism, Children and Youth Committee which provides high school scholarships, Boys State sponsorships and student awards for Americanism, citizenship and scholarship. He is also the 4th Division Chaplain for The American Legion, State of Texas and has twice been appointed Texas Department Chaplain. Chaplain Klee is the Assistant State Chaplain, State of Texas for the Chapel of Four Chaplains headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
An active member in Squadron 437, Mr. Klee is a member of their Executive Committee and serves as 1st Vice Commander, Judge Advocate and Historian. He was recently elected 21st District Vice-Commander for the Sons of The American Legion. Mr. Klee is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10376 in Marble Falls where he serves as Trustee and Librarian.
Mr. Klee is married to Suzanne Klee. They have eleven children and
fourteen
grandchildren. He is a member of the Highland Lakes United Methodist
Church
where he serves on the Administrative Council, Pastor/Parish and
Parsonage
Committees, and as President of the United Methodist Men.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Apparently, quick exposure of
earlier IP address
spoofing and illicit signing up of this
publication
for unrequested "services" has not
deterred you from
renewed spamming activity and additional
squandering
of company time and good corporate image.
-- Stupidly, using the same
spoofed Yahoo.Com server
IP address a second time to retaliate
against ongoing
posting of extremely unflattering material
on The
Ledger website, regarding outrageously
poor Dell
support. Tough, isn't it?
Couldn't at least use a different
spoofed IP address
to make things a little less
boring? ... Be a bit
more creative, Mr. DeRosier.
Thought others at Dell needed to
be aware of what is
going on, and took the liberty of sharing
our ongoing

Thanks for the additional

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Don't you think it a bit juvenile
and in fact
aggressively stupid to use a Yahoo.Com
server address
to spoof and illicitly sign this
publication up for
unrequested "services"? ... To
both email addresses
listed on the header of the last message
sent on
Sunday? Think Mr. Dell would
approve of such waste
of
company time and tactics? Think
the U.S. Attorney
or
Yahoo would be as amused as this

thanks for the laugh and additional fodder
for the

grateful. ... Never a
dull

Dear Mr. DeRosier:
The following ignored
snail-mailed letter to Mr. Dell
has been published in the last two
editions of The
Llano Ledger. Readers are
entitled to know precisely
how Mr. Notebook and Dell Computer do
business.
Indeed, a public service. Will
continue to be posted
weekly for months. -- Until I
get tired of it.
At that time, a new webpage on
The Ledger website will
be created. All correspondence
between Mr. Notebook
as well as Dell "Support" and this writer
will be
posted. -- Again, the readership
has the right
to know
exactly how both companies
operate. ... Particularly,
how poor "support" is at both firms.
Should your attorneys decide to
sue, by all means do
so. With an exceptionally
corrupt and abusive court
system, Dell indeed would likely
prevail. Regardless
of the truth. After all, your
multi-billion dollar
corporation can easily financially impose
its will.
Would be an empty victory for several
reasons,
however.
First, would fully publicly
demonstrate precisely how
abusive and repressive a powerful
corporate entity can
be, -- ultimately costing market
share. After all,
why buy Dell when you can purchase HP, --
a company
far more attentive to customer concerns and
complaints?
Second, would certainly publicly
expose Dell "Support"
for being inept, unresponsive, and
profoundly
obfuscating. Sadly, -- the
number one problem in
the
view of product users.
... Again, costing
market
share.
Third, a suit would bring this
publication additional
recognition nationally. With
readership exponentially
expanding, can only further aid and
assist, no?
Fourth, should Dell prevail, this
publication has no
assets, -- other than the piece of trash
this message
is typed on. Remember?
The supposedly "factory
refurbished" Latitude Mr. Notebook
fraudulently sold
as rebuilt?
Fifth, this writer has no assets.
Certainly, "judgment
proof", so to speak. The truth
regarding this entire
fiasco would come out in court for all to
see,
regardless of whether or not Dell uses its
considerable assets to buy a favorable,
self-serving
outcome.
So, should your legal beagles
choose to file suit,
bring it on. ...
Hardball? You bet.
Can only wonder
how many others have had to put up with
this same
crap, or worse. While they had
no options, this
publication certainly does. Can
indeed expose it
to
the light of day.
Bottom line, Mr. DeRosier, is the
fact the office of
the CEO has not had the courtesy nor seen
fit to
answer the enclosed letter, preferring to
stonewall.
-- Or possibly never received the letter
at all.
... Could have been conveniently
intercepted by a crony
in the Dell mail department?
After all, you knew
full
well it was coming. Nothing less
than a response
from
the office of the CEO is acceptable.
If his office indeed received the
correspondence, it
is glaringly indifferent to unresolved
customer
complaints. Has apparently
refused to right the
wrong
regardless of legal culpability or lack
thereof.
Certainly, aggressively stupid
since you've already
likely lost more in sales than it would
have cost to
correct the problem. Corporate
image is priceless,
isn't it, or has Dell Computer indeed
grown too fat
and complacent to care? -- Or is
this merely a
matter
of one Dell employee desperately trying to
cover his
ass and/or that of his department?
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Dell:
A Dell factory refurbished Latitude was purchased from Mr. Notebook by [redacted] of [redacted] and donated to this non-profit publication about a year ago. Despite a nearly $900 expenditure, this machine has been a piece of trash since purchase. Support from Mr. Notebook was non-existent. Sadly, Dell Support was not much better.
Clearly, after a year's worth of problems, factory "refurbished" does not mean factory "rebuilt". Apparently, the hard disk, floppy, and CD drives were never replaced. -- The most likely sources of product failure. In addition, the supposedly replaced lithium-ion battery module has a design flaw. Although the machine has always been run on AC power and the battery maintained at 100% charge, intelligence circuitry in the module failed, rendering the battery worthless. -- Coincidentally occurred during the latest email foray with Dell Support regarding floppy disk failure. ... Aren't I lucky? Incredibly blessed?
All that was requested from Dell Support this time around, however, was a pointer to diagnostics that would have pinpointed the problem with the floppy drive. ... Not absolutely sure yet whether the failure lies only in the drive itself, or may also involve the socket and possibly bugs in drivers common to both the floppy and CD ROM drives. Sadly, the CD ROM has never worked flawlessly either and has had occasional problems of reliability. ... At least, it's still working, however. Unlike the floppy.
While Dell Support indeed provided a pointer to diagnostics, the download ironically requires use of boot disk and floppy. Indeed, a problem of not being able to get from here to there. When pointed out to Support, received no further assistance, -- just an outrageous run around. ... Despite assurances on the Dell website such email support supposedly exists for life of the product.
Mr. Dell, I can certainly understand you cannot be aware of all problems within a large corporation. You do, however, have unaddressed flaws with "refurbished" machines sold by disreputable vendors fraudulently and phonily invoking Dell corporate name, image, and prestige, and more importantly, horrendous problems with a totally unresponsive Dell Support division. No question, it is doing damage to corporate public image and reputation. Sadly, although your machines are extremely popular, the greatest problem I've heard from users is lack of support. Can certainly attest to that from personal experience.
Support outrageously refused to provide an email address for your office, -- unlike HP and other corporations more responsive to unresolved customer problems and complaints. ... An email address would have certainly provided an easy practical way of sending the entire email exchange over the last year. Would have sorely indicated glaring obfuscation, non-responsiveness, and interminable intentional delay. Hard to believe you're unaware. Than again, Dell Corporation could apparently care less.
Mr. Notebook sold the Latitude as a Dell factory refurbished machine, supposedly tested by Dell-trained technicians, clearly so indicated on the bottom of the computer. Again, the floppy, CD, and hard drives apparently were never replaced. The most likely components to fail. Since factory refurbished clearly does not mean factory rebuilt, the computer is no more than a used machine. ... A machine that could have been bought for half the price at a resale shop. Even less if purchased privately. With the price of new notebooks precipitously dropping recently to the $900 range and technically capable of running circles around this dinosaur, assuredly have no intention of dumping additional money into this piece of trash.
Mr. Notebook, on the day of purchase, claimed this machine to be factory refurbished. Repeatedly made the claim. Clearly, it was not. Mr. Notebook quickly washed its hands of this lemon, failing to answer follow-up correspondence from this publication regarding product failure shortly after purchase. Have no intention of wasting additional time and effort haggling further with Mr. Notebook, -- other than to publish an investigative article exposing this entire fiasco. After all, the public is entitled to know exactly how business was done.
Due to several serious problems never corrected by Dell or Mr. Notebook since purchase of this falsely alleged Dell factory refurbished product, however, can honestly say at this point I would never again purchase a Dell computer, -- new, used, or "factory refurbished". From anyone. Certainly would never encourage others to purchase Dell either. Indeed, why take the risk and put up with the hassle?
Regardless of whether or not Dell Corporation is technically or legally responsible for fraudulent claims made by a vendor of Dell machines, the damage done to corporate image is indeed severe nonetheless. The lack of competent support and assistance from Dell Corporation in the matter is stunning. Certainly, costly in terms of good faith and product loyalty lost. Regardless of legal responsibility.
Have enclosed the last few emails from Support upper management refusing to provide an email address for your office and highly indicative and glaringly demonstrative of ongoing obfuscation over the last year. Little more than canned, computer-generated messages containing phony platitudes and false concern designed to obfuscate and stonewall rather than provide technical assistance or resolution. Apparently, the problem is top-down, since tone and substance of upper management Support is no different than that of lower level techs. Although unquestionably a public service, have held off publishing an investigative article until I hear from your office.
Sincerely,
Tim Chorney, Publisher

Dear Mr. DeRosier:
You still have not answered my
question regarding the
email address of the office of the
CEO. While the
nature of my business with that office is
none of
yours and your comments a bit
presumptuous, suffice it
to say the sheer volume of material I wish
to send
regarding this and earlier related matters
make doing
so electronically far more
convenient. To the point,
are you refusing to provide this
publication with an
email address for Mr. Dell's
office? ... This is
not
the end of the matter, Mr. DeRosier, only
the
beginning.

matter.

material.
As strongly asserted in the last 94 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.
Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.
Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?
Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.
If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
