Got guts? Tired of being lied to? Like an alternative source of information truly independent and free of government propaganda? Want this publication to continue? Send a financial donation to P.O. Box 997, Buchanan Dam, Tx. 78609.
Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising. Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up. Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution. For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute. Furthermore, desperately need an additional laptop or desktop computer as back-up to a failing Dell Latitude notebook currently being used. Got one gathering dust in the closet? Care to donate? While conveniently accessing these webpages "free" of charge, never forget this publication remains non-profit and depends entirely on nearly non-existent community support. At the same time, The Ledger is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance. ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few. T.C. 2-2-03.

Indeed, the English language has no words to truly describe the profound loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia. Seven exceptionally fine and gifted astronauts gone, -- six Americans and an Israeli.
At the time of this writing, no indication the catastrophe was due to terrorism. Regardless, the loss over Dallas and the timing just weeks before the "President" plans to launch an immoral unjust preemptive attack on Iraq is eerily reminiscent of another immense immeasurable tragedy on a Dallas street nearly forty years ago.
Undeniably, the American dream suffered a catastrophic body blow, November 22, 1963. Never fully recovered. Despite four decades. A truly great President, gunned down in the prime of life. Sadly, Mr. Kennedy, considered too "liberal" and hated by many in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area, was quite effectively by assassination, prevented from removing troops from Vietnam.
Planned action, that had enraged the Extreme Right. ... Then, based in Dallas. Precisely, why the murdered President had flown to Texas that terrible day. To mend fences. Bolster support for an anticipated 1964 reelection bid. Never to be.
While Lee Harvey Oswald was determined to be the lone assassin, there has always been conjecture regarding a far wider conspiracy involving the Extreme Right.
Today, forty years later, the irony is stunning. Currently, we have a fascist appointed "President" by a Nazi U.S. Supreme Court planning an unprovoked preemptive attack on Iraq. Allegedly, only weeks way. An attack that will forment and worsen Israeli-Palestinian relations. To say nothing of the rest of the Arab world.
Sadly, more interesting fiction could not have been written. Consider the immense irony of the catastrophe. A Shuttle goes down over Dallas and Palestine, Tx.. Debris spread over 500 square miles of East Texas. ... A part of the country harboring some of the most extreme right wing citizens of the United States. Some of whom, Klan members or sympathizers.
Poignantly, one of the Columbia's crew members was a bright, truly gifted Israeli fighter pilot. The best of the best. -- Colonel Ilan Ramon had fought during the 1973 war and was the youngest Israeli pilot to bomb the Iraqi nuclear reactor back in 1981. Action thought at the time to be lawless and flagrant of international law, but credited today with denying Saddam nuclear weapons for years.
The Palestinians have offered their condolences to the families of all seven. So have many other Arab countries. Not so, Iraq. Sadly and perversely, they believe the loss to be retribution from the Creator. ... For what had already happened, -- and what is apparently about to come.
The terrible loss of the Shuttle,
however, is an opportunity
for the Nazi occupying the Oval Office to finally come to his
senses.
Make peace in the Middle East. Find a way to end the conflict
equitably.
Use the power of his office for good, rather than evil and
self-gain.
Before it's too late.
Disturbingly, the "President's" State of the Union address contained numerous distortions of reality, -- starting right from the very beginning. Mr. Bush declared: "This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. We will confront them with focus, and clarity, and courage."
Sadly, the "President" is in reality ludicrously doing the direct opposite. At a time of record deficits, reportedly currently amounting to approximately $300 billion (not including the cost of his planned unprovoked attack on Iraq), the jackass occupying the White House is calling for yet another round of tax breaks aimed directly at the rich. The "Chief Executive" is shamelessly mortgaging your children's future for the sake of his cronies in big business, and his wealthy friends. They gain. You lose.
Mr. Bush went on to falsely claim: "To protect our country, we reorganized our government and created the Department of Homeland Security which is mobilizing against the threats of a new era. To bring our economy out of recession, we delivered the largest tax relief in a generation. To insist on integrity in American business, we passed tough reforms, and we are holding corporate criminals to account."
First, the Department of Homeland Security is designed to consolidate power and enhance the "President's" stranglehold on the governed. Sadly, has absolutely nothing to do with national "security" or protecting the citizenry against attack. Will conveniently enable, however, additional billions of taxpayer dollars to be used to further eviscerate the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments to the Constitution.
Second, the "President's" first tax break for the rich and big business did absolutely nothing to improve the economy. Just lined the pockets of his cronies. For Mr. Bush to claim otherwise, seriously distorts reality. Had the masses truly benefited, an upsurge would have been seen in the economy as ordinary people spent those dollars. Didn't materialize. In fact, the economy has grown progressively worse. Yet, the fascist appointed "President" by a Nazi Supreme Court now insists on repeating the fiasco. This time, giving tax breaks to rich stock investors by doing away with a capital gains tax.
Third, Mr. Bush has falsely claimed to be "holding corporate criminals to account." Who, George? When? Where? Where are the trials? Who is being imprisoned? Where are looted funds being returned to their rightful owners? Not happening, Mr. "President." The Securities and Exchange Commission is still reeling from a lack of leadership.
When will you start telling the truth, not only about the economy, but the corporate wheeling and dealing you and your henchmen are still engaged in, Mr. "President?" When will you finally make public, information sought in lawsuits as well as Freedom of Information requests, regarding all the finagling to date by you, "Slick Dick" Cheney, and others in your "Administration?"
Mr. Bush sadly has no understanding of who and what generates profits, opining: "We should also strengthen the economy by treating investors equally in our tax laws. It's fair to tax a company's profits. It is not fair to again tax the shareholder on the same profits. To boost investor confidence, and to help the nearly 10 million seniors who receive dividend income, I ask you to end the unfair double taxation of dividends. Lower taxes and greater investment will help this economy expand."
First, investors have been more than fairly treated by our tax laws. Precisely, why so many became millionaires during the eight years prior to Mr. Bush's appointment as "President." Sadly, the "President's" warmongering and deliberate cozying up to greedy corporations and the rich have directly led to the worsening economy during the last two years of his reign. Apparently, at least some of the aggressively stupid population is beginning to wake up to this undeniable fact. ... Why poll numbers are finally dropping.
Second, investors and corporations are not being taxed on the same profits. Most corporations pay very little income tax. Some pay none. Regardless, corporate profits are not the same profits, investors make. Corporations profit from products sold. Investors profit from money risked in shares bought. Big, big difference. Not the same thing. Precisely why, profitable companies make money. Not so, all investors buying their stock. If timing is right, investors make a killing. If not, they lose their ass. On the very same stock. Often, regardless of corporate profitability. Contrary to what Mr. Bush apparently believes, dividends are an insignificant part of the profit of stock ownership. Laughably so, compared to years ago. ... Widows used to be able to live off stock dividends. No longer.
Third, "lower taxes and greater investment" for the rich did not "help this economy expand" via the "President's" earlier tax break rammed through Congress, shortly after he was appointed to office. If anything, only contributed to the national debt. Now, the jackass wants the chance to repeat the same voodoo economics.
Sadly, Mr. Bush has absolutely no understanding of the healthcare crisis and its causes, lamely declaring: "The American system of medicine is a model of skill and innovation with a pace of discovery that is adding good years to our lives. Yet for many people, medical care costs too much and many have no health coverage at all. These problems will not be solved with a nationalized health care system that dictates coverage and rations care. Instead, we must work toward a system in which all Americans have a good insurance policy, choose their own doctors, and seniors and low-income Americans receive the help they need. Instead of bureaucrats, and trial lawyers, and HMOs, we must put doctors, and nurses, and patients back in charge of American medicine."
Ole' George still doesn't get it. It is precisely his refusal, and that of his cronies in Congress, to do anything substantive to reduce provider greed and avarice that is sadly and directly leading to socialized medicine. With unbridled, unabated, unchecked greed, "nationalization" of medical care is quickly approaching. There will be no choice unless the "President" and Congress immediately act. Instead, the jackass appointed "President" prefers to blame attorneys and lawsuits rightfully aimed at butchers in the medical profession.
Also, conveniently refuses to hold insurance companies accountable for gouging. To date, has asked for no congressional investigations into the greedy and corrupt insurance industry. In fact, has made it easier for insurance companies and employers to screw employees by relaxed sharing of healthcare information. ... While phonily, outrageously, and hypocritically, asserting he wants "patients back in charge of American medicine." You've been scammed by the Nazi, readers. When will you finally wake up?
Again blatantly calling for no more than the end of church-state separation, Mr. Bush phonily declared:
"Our fourth goal is to apply the compassion of America to the deepest problems of America. For so many in our country - the homeless and the fatherless, the addicted - the need is great. Yet there is power, wonder-working power in the goodness, and idealism, and faith of the American people. Americans are doing the work of compassion every day - visiting prisoners, providing shelter for battered women, bringing companionship to lonely seniors. These good works deserve our praise, they deserve our personal support and, when appropriate, they deserve the assistance of the federal government. I urge you to pass both my faith-based initiative and the Citizen Service Act to encourage acts of compassion that can transform America, one heart and one soul at a time."
Mr. Bush is apparently not living on the same planet as the rest of us. "Faith-based" initiatives will enable churches to line their pockets with taxpayer funds, -- while ultimately tying assistance for food, shelter, job-training, etc. with an acceptance of Jesus. As reported in the last edition of this publication, Mr. Bush is currently planning on authorizing housing money to be spent on church facilities used for worship, -- as long as part of the facility is also used for charitable services. If the "President" is successful, taxpayers will essentially be paying for the construction of churches. After a short public comment period passes, the rule has the force of law and should be immediately challenged in court.
The "President" also clearly wants "religion" in the drug treatment "business." Can be extremely dangerous to addicts, however, since many such programs do not recognize the need for medical detox treatment in conjunction with "rehab." Nor are these "counselors" seldom accredited in anything other than the Bible. Readers are reminded the sick puppy who wrote Leviticus called for the stoning of adulterers, fornicators, and gays. Some of these "religious" fascists still believe such cruel nonsense to be valid and the "word of God."
Indeed, the "President" wants to dump an enormous amount of money into such church groups, asserting:
"Too many Americans in search of treatment cannot get it. So tonight I propose a new $600 million program to help an additional 300,000 Americans receive treatment over the next three years. Our nation is blessed with recovery programs that do amazing work. One of them is found at the Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, La. A man in the program said, "God does miracles in people's lives, and you never think it could be you." Tonight, let us bring to all Americans who struggle with drug addiction this message of hope: The miracle of recovery is possible, and it could be you."
No, George. This is no more than an outrageous blatant naked attempt to eviscerate the First Amendment requirement of church-state separation, i.e. the right of freedom of religion as well as freedom from it. The "President", as all Nazis, is hypocritically using "religion" to consolidate power, put a "compassionate" face on his ruthlessness, and "justify" the imposition of his brand of fascism. -- Fascism, that has already devastated the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments. A direct attack on civil liberties and rights. All done, supposedly, for national "security" and in the name of phony "religion." ... While the Nazi callously laughs his ass off all the way to the bank, -- as liberty and rights are deliberately eviscerated.
In further perversely sick distortion of reality, the "President" declared: "The qualities of courage and compassion that we strive for in America also determine our conduct abroad. The American flag stands for more than our power and our interests. Our founders dedicated this country to the cause of human dignity, the rights of every person and the possibilities of every life. This conviction leads us into the world to help the afflicted and defend the peace and confound the designs of evil men."
Outrageously, this appointed Nazi has spat on what the Flag stands for, -- or at least used to. Mr. Bush does not seek peace or to "help the afflicted." Rather, he callously plans to launch an unprovoked attack on Iraq. ... An attack he has clearly not in any way justified. Should his henchmen finally release evidence of Saddam's nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons of mass destruction in coming days, it still does not and will not justify the impending unprovoked attack.
Evidence of the existence of such banned weapons does not demonstrate their impending use by Saddam. ... Unless, we first attack. Then, the Nazi occupying the White House can disingenuously, hypocritically, and falsely declare: "See, I told you so." No, George, it doesn't and won't. Should Saddam use such weapons of mass destruction against invading troops, the responsibility will be equally yours, Mr. "President."
Chillingly, while the following printed words from his speech do not impart the bloodthirst of our Nazi "President", his intonation of the last sentence italicized by this writer was bloodcurdling: "All told, more than 3,000 suspected terrorists have been arrested in many countries. And many others have met a different fate. Let's put it this way: They are no longer a problem to the United States and our friends and allies."
This Nazi, while phonily wearing "religion" on his sleeve, apparently takes great pleasure in killing. ... How he gets his cookies off. Stands directly in opposition to everything Christ stood for. Yet, the outrageously fascist bastard, appointed to office, sickeningly invokes his perverse brand of "Christianity" every time he has the opportunity. To the obvious delight of equally sick millions in this once great country.
The "President" is certainly sadly right, however, about the following statement: "One by one, the terrorists are learning the meaning of American justice." They certainly are, George. There is none. Just Nazism. Raw, unfettered National Socialism. No due process. No constitutional right to an attorney and the courts. No habeas corpus. For those captured and incarcerated overseas, no treatment as prisoners of war as required by the Geneva Convention. Just raw Nazi justice by a cowboy not fit to be dog catcher, never mind, "President."
Mr. Bush perversely and pompously went on to declare: "Our war against terror is a contest of will, in which perseverance is power. In the ruins of two towers, at the western wall of the Pentagon, on a field in Pennsylvania, this nation made a pledge and we renew that pledge tonight: Whatever the duration of this struggle and whatever the difficulties, we will not permit the triumph of violence in the affairs of men. Free people will set the course of history."
No, George. The unspeakably cruel violence of 9/11 has already triumphed. You've gutlessly and traitorously ceded to the enemy what never could have been lost on the field of battle, -- the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments to the Constitution. Civil and constitutional rights and liberties. We are no longer free, Mr. "President." You and your equally Nazi henchmen have seen to it and are directly responsible. Eventually, the aggressively stupid population will finally wake up. Hopefully, before it's too late.
Outrageously, the Nazi appointed "President" directly lied to the American people at the very end of his speech: "We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means, sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military and we will prevail. And as we and our coalition partners are doing in Afghanistan, we will bring to the Iraqi people food and medicines and supplies and freedom. "
Mr. Bush does not want peace. Does not fit in with his fascist agenda, as well as reinstatement to office two years from now. The threat is first and foremost the Nazi appointed "President." Not Saddam, not North Korea, not al Qaeda. None of the latter is capable of destroying the United States and/or freedom. Mr. Bush is already well on his way to destroying liberty all by himself. Is conveniently, cowardly, and callously considering military action he has not justified, and is not supported by many in the world community. How can he bring Iraqis "freedom" when he's deliberately and callously eviscerated liberty and rights here? Contrary to the liar in the Oval Office, war is not being thrust on us by Saddam. It is the Nazi appointed "President" who is planning to start and execute an unjust immoral war.
As Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini, the fascist appointed "President" by a Nazi Supreme Court blasphemously invoked God to justify his tyranny: "The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity. We Americans have faith in ourselves but not in ourselves alone. We do not claim to know all the ways of Providence, yet we can trust in them, placing our confidence in the loving God behind all of life and all of history. May He guide us now and may God continue to bless the United States of America."
... Think the Creator's winking,
-- or wincing
at the Aryan arrogance of the Nazi appointed "President?"
Think He
or She is not outraged at the pomposity and aggressive stupidity of the
dolt? ... That hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi
non-combatants
will die so Ole' George can get his cookies off and ensure
reinstatement
as "President" two years from now? That our best and
brightest will
be sent off to war so Big Oil and the rich will benefit? Sieg
Heil, Mein Fuhrer. America Uber Alles.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, now run by Republican shills, is ramming the "President's" fascist judicial appointments through the committee, several at a time. Disturbingly, Democrats have not yet filibustered. Consequently, the nomination of Miguel A. Estrada to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals will reach the floor of the Senate in a few days. Estrada has Aryan arrogantly refused to answer questions regarding his views on a variety of hot button political issues, including abortion.
If gutless Democrats do not stand
up to an outrageously
Nazi "President", desperately trying to line an already fascist
judiciary
with even more radical "judges", they deserve to be voted out of
office.
Are no better than GOP fascists now glaringly in control of all three
branches
of government. Sadly, the filibuster is apparently the only
way the
"President" will be stopped from further radicalizing the judiciary
with
Nazis who will do no more than legislate their perverse "religious"
views
from the bench. Hopefully, a few patriotic Democrats will
find the
courage to do so. Regardless, of the political cost.
That's right. Much to the chagrin of the "President", Bishop Melvin Talbert, chief ecumenical officer of the United Methodist Church, in a commercial aired on Fox and CNN came out forcefully against an Iraqi preemptive attack, declaring: "No nation under God has that right. It violates international law. It violates God's law and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Iraq hasn't wronged us. ... War will only create more terrorists."
No kidding, Reverend.
Thanks for having the courage
to say so.
Dissent, apparently, is not well-tolerated by the Bush "Administration." First Lady Laura Bush postponed a Feb. 12 poetry symposium after learning poets had planned to protest the "President's" planned unprovoked attack on Iraq. ... Tough, isn't it?
Mrs. Bush, apparently, does not like to talk about anything unpleasant, -- or controversial. ... Like the death of a fellow classmate some forty years ago, as reported on this website and elsewhere earlier.
The First Lady has refused to discuss why she was never issued a ticket for running the stop sign, a violation that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old fellow student in another car she hit. ... Or why she was never charged with manslaughter.
... Would think, however, she'd
be a little more sympathetic
to the kids her husband plans to send into battle, though, wouldn't you?
The White House was left reeling
by stinging criticism
offered by former South African President Nelson Mandela, January
30:
"It is a tragedy what is happening, what Bush is doing in
Iraq. What
I am condemning is that one power, with a president who has no
foresight,
who cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a
holocaust."
In direct violation of your right
to privacy, the Nazi
appointed "President" has authorized the State Department to share its
visa computer data bases with all police organizations. Any
data
given to the State Department, including photographs, will immediately
be made available to police thugs.
In further violation of privacy
rights, the Nazi occupying
the White House has authorized creation of a computer network that will
analyze medical data of patients in eight major urban areas.
None
of the cities to be disclosed. Supposedly, for national
"security."
Sieg
Heil, Mein Fuhrer. America Uber Alles.
Ten Detroit police officers were suspended. Not fired. Not charged with manslaughter. Coddled.
All ten thugs refused a direct order to end a high speed chase. The chase resulted in the death of an innocent third party. Sadly, 45-year-old Melvin Woodyard died when a vehicle he was a passenger in was hit by one of the police cars.
Why haven't all ten goons been
charged with manslaughter?
When will errant criminal police "officers" be tried as the ordinary
street
thugs they are, -- and summarily executed by lethal injection after
wantonly
and needlessly killing innocent people?
Mr. Klee recently informed this writer he's once again considering running for the Llano Independent School District Board. Rightfully and tirelessly, has been highly critical of waste and corruption in the District for many years. While willing to do whatever is necessary regarding public appearances, writing of campaign literature, etc., he desperately needs financial backing and assistance with the "grunt" work.
Tasks, such as placement of signs, distribution of fliers, and similar legwork. Readers are reminded the Board is not paid. Pointedly, only get what they can steal or receive in bribes. -- While slapping the Good Ole' Boy occupying the Superintendent's office hard on the back, sharing in the wealth. Looted taxpayer money. Time for a breath of fresh air. Klee could and would do some good, rattling a few cages in an effort to force badly-needed change.
LISD is suffering severe financial distress due to years of neglect, greed, theft, misuse of taxpayer money, etc.. From launch of this publication until recently, has always been aggressively targeted on this website. No one would listen, however. Sadly, the chickens are finally coming home to roost. Tough, isn't it?
LISD Superintendent Jack Patton has a history of financial disaster and problems left behind in both Menard and Hereford. They were glad to get rid of him, according to a former board member and newspaper editor from both communities contacted by this writer about a year and a half ago. Has done no better here. This outrageous jackass has deliberately run the District into the ground.
If you support badly-needed
change and a fresh point of
view on the Board, why not contact Mr. Klee at hklee@tstar.net?
Should the Superintendent and current Board continue unchallenged,
expect
the tax burden to become far more severe. Sadly, these
white-collar
thugs will never get enough, and will continue to mercilessly loot,
picking
your pockets clean, until you courageously take action and put an end
to
it. … Should you insist on remaining deafeningly and cowardly
silent,
however, you get precisely what you richly deserve.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Apparently, quick exposure of
earlier IP address
spoofing and illicit signing up of this

for unrequested "services" has not
deterred you from
renewed spamming activity and additional

of company time and good corporate image.
-- Stupidly, using the same

Couldn't at least use a different

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Don't you think it a bit juvenile

aggressively stupid to use a Yahoo.Com

Dear Mr. DeRosier:
The following ignored
snail-mailed letter to Mr. Dell
has been published in the last two
editions of The
Llano Ledger. Readers are
entitled to know precisely
how Mr. Notebook and Dell Computer do
business.
Indeed, a public service. Will
continue to be posted
weekly for months. -- Until I
get tired of it.
At that time, a new webpage on
The Ledger website will
be created. All correspondence
between Mr. Notebook
as well as Dell "Support" and this writer
will be
posted. -- Again, the readership
has the right
to know
exactly how both companies
operate. … Particularly,
how poor "support" is at both firms.
Should your attorneys decide to
sue, by all means do
so. With an exceptionally
corrupt and abusive court
system, Dell indeed would likely
prevail. Regardless
of the truth. After all, your
multi-billion dollar
corporation can easily financially impose
its will.
Would be an empty victory for several
reasons,
however.
First, would fully publicly
demonstrate precisely how
abusive and repressive a powerful
corporate entity can
be, -- ultimately costing market
share. After all,
why buy Dell when you can purchase HP, --
a company
far more attentive to customer concerns and
complaints?
Second, would certainly publicly
expose Dell "Support"
for being inept, unresponsive, and
profoundly
obfuscating. Sadly, -- the
number one problem in
the
view of product users.
… Again, costing market
share.
Third, a suit would bring this
publication additional
recognition nationally. With
readership exponentially
expanding, can only further aid and
assist, no?
Fourth, should Dell prevail, this
publication has no
assets, -- other than the piece of trash
this message
is typed on. Remember?
The supposedly "factory
refurbished" Latitude Mr. Notebook
fraudulently sold
as rebuilt?
Fifth, this writer has no assets.
Certainly, "judgment
proof", so to speak. The truth
regarding this entire
fiasco would come out in court for all to
see,
regardless of whether or not Dell uses its
considerable assets to buy a favorable,
self-serving
outcome.
So, should your legal beagles
choose to file suit,
bring it on. …
Hardball? You bet. Can
only wonder
how many others have had to put up with
this same
crap, or worse. While they had
no options, this
publication certainly does. Can
indeed expose it
to
the light of day.
Bottom line, Mr. DeRosier, is the
fact the office of
the CEO has not had the courtesy nor seen
fit to
answer the enclosed letter, preferring to
stonewall.
-- Or possibly never received the letter
at all.
… Could have been conveniently
intercepted by a crony
in the Dell mail department?
After all, you knew
full
well it was coming. Nothing less
than a response
from
the office of the CEO is acceptable.
If his office indeed received the
correspondence, it
is glaringly indifferent to unresolved
customer
complaints. Has apparently
refused to right the
wrong
regardless of legal culpability or lack
thereof.
Certainly, aggressively stupid
since you've already
likely lost more in sales than it would
have cost to
correct the problem. Corporate
image is priceless,
isn't it, or has Dell Computer indeed
grown too fat
and complacent to care? -- Or is
this merely a
matter
of one Dell employee desperately trying to
cover his
ass and/or that of his department?

Dear Mr. Dell:
A Dell factory refurbished Latitude was purchased from Mr. Notebook by [redacted] of [redacted] and donated to this non-profit publication about a year ago. Despite a nearly $900 expenditure, this machine has been a piece of trash since purchase. Support from Mr. Notebook was non-existent. Sadly, Dell Support was not much better.
Clearly, after a year's worth of problems, factory "refurbished" does not mean factory "rebuilt". Apparently, the hard disk, floppy, and CD drives were never replaced. -- The most likely sources of product failure. In addition, the supposedly replaced lithium-ion battery module has a design flaw. Although the machine has always been run on AC power and the battery maintained at 100% charge, intelligence circuitry in the module failed, rendering the battery worthless. -- Coincidentally occurred during the latest email foray with Dell Support regarding floppy disk failure. … Aren't I lucky? Incredibly blessed?
All that was requested from Dell Support this time around, however, was a pointer to diagnostics that would have pinpointed the problem with the floppy drive. … Not absolutely sure yet whether the failure lies only in the drive itself, or may also involve the socket and possibly bugs in drivers common to both the floppy and CD ROM drives. Sadly, the CD ROM has never worked flawlessly either and has had occasional problems of reliability. … At least, it's still working, however. Unlike the floppy.
While Dell Support indeed provided a pointer to diagnostics, the download ironically requires use of boot disk and floppy. Indeed, a problem of not being able to get from here to there. When pointed out to Support, received no further assistance, -- just an outrageous run around. … Despite assurances on the Dell website such email support supposedly exists for life of the product.
Mr. Dell, I can certainly understand you cannot be aware of all problems within a large corporation. You do, however, have unaddressed flaws with "refurbished" machines sold by disreputable vendors fraudulently and phonily invoking Dell corporate name, image, and prestige, and more importantly, horrendous problems with a totally unresponsive Dell Support division. No question, it is doing damage to corporate public image and reputation. Sadly, although your machines are extremely popular, the greatest problem I've heard from users is lack of support. Can certainly attest to that from personal experience.
Support outrageously refused to provide an email address for your office, -- unlike HP and other corporations more responsive to unresolved customer problems and complaints. … An email address would have certainly provided an easy practical way of sending the entire email exchange over the last year. Would have sorely indicated glaring obfuscation, non-responsiveness, and interminable intentional delay. Hard to believe you're unaware. Than again, Dell Corporation could apparently care less.
Mr. Notebook sold the Latitude as a Dell factory refurbished machine, supposedly tested by Dell-trained technicians, clearly so indicated on the bottom of the computer. Again, the floppy, CD, and hard drives apparently were never replaced. The most likely components to fail. Since factory refurbished clearly does not mean factory rebuilt, the computer is no more than a used machine. … A machine that could have been bought for half the price at a resale shop. Even less if purchased privately. With the price of new notebooks precipitously dropping recently to the $900 range and technically capable of running circles around this dinosaur, assuredly have no intention of dumping additional money into this piece of trash.
Mr. Notebook, on the day of purchase, claimed this machine to be factory refurbished. Repeatedly made the claim. Clearly, it was not. Mr. Notebook quickly washed its hands of this lemon, failing to answer follow-up correspondence from this publication regarding product failure shortly after purchase. Have no intention of wasting additional time and effort haggling further with Mr. Notebook, -- other than to publish an investigative article exposing this entire fiasco. After all, the public is entitled to know exactly how business was done.
Due to several serious problems never corrected by Dell or Mr. Notebook since purchase of this falsely alleged Dell factory refurbished product, however, can honestly say at this point I would never again purchase a Dell computer, -- new, used, or "factory refurbished". From anyone. Certainly would never encourage others to purchase Dell either. Indeed, why take the risk and put up with the hassle?
Regardless of whether or not Dell Corporation is technically or legally responsible for fraudulent claims made by a vendor of Dell machines, the damage done to corporate image is indeed severe nonetheless. The lack of competent support and assistance from Dell Corporation in the matter is stunning. Certainly, costly in terms of good faith and product loyalty lost. Regardless of legal responsibility.
Have enclosed the last few emails from Support upper management refusing to provide an email address for your office and highly indicative and glaringly demonstrative of ongoing obfuscation over the last year. Little more than canned, computer-generated messages containing phony platitudes and false concern designed to obfuscate and stonewall rather than provide technical assistance or resolution. Apparently, the problem is top-down, since tone and substance of upper management Support is no different than that of lower level techs. Although unquestionably a public service, have held off publishing an investigative article until I hear from your office.
Sincerely,
Tim Chorney, Publisher

A letter To Burnet County Sheriff Joe Pollock has been posted recently. Access it by clicking here.
As promised, the letter of
complaint sent to Burnet County
Judge Martin McLean, regarding fraudulent Ledger Maxpages and
Stormpages
site deletions originating from the Burnet County Library System and
resulting
in the ejection of this writer from library computers, has finally been
posted. Readers are reminded this is not the end of the
matter.
Just the beginning. For ongoing coverage of the criminal
attacks
as well as the letter to the Judge sent in response, click here.

This publication
is a forum for a diversity of viewpoints. All are encouraged to submit
material.
A rare commodity, honest
businesses need a plug.
Although this publication receives no financial remuneration or funding
of any kind from Mike's Transmission, this writer has personally known
the owner of this new business quite some time and has enormous respect
for his integrity. Mike has had years of experience working
on transmissions,
-- foreign and domestic, standard and automatic. This guy has
heart
and takes enormous pride in his work. Give him a call at
915-423-1694.
The business is in the process of being launched. If you like
the
quality of service, let me know. Better yet, ask him to send
a donation
to the Ledger.
As strongly asserted in the last 92 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.
Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.
Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?
Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.
If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
