Got guts? Tired of being lied to? Like an alternative source of information truly independent and free of government propaganda? Want this publication to continue? Send a financial donation to P.O. Box 997, Buchanan Dam, Tx. 78609.

Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising.  Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up.  Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution.  For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute.  Furthermore, desperately need an additional laptop or desktop computer as back-up to a failing Dell Latitude notebook currently being used.  Got one gathering dust in the closet?  Care to donate? While conveniently accessing these webpages "free" of charge, never forget this publication remains non-profit and depends entirely on nearly non-existent community support. At the same time, The Ledger is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance.  ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few.  … Right, "Judge"?  T.C. 12-22-02.

"President" Pressures Corporate CIOs

Mr. Bush and his equally fascist henchmen have placed enormous pressure on corporate chief information officers to share highly-sensitive security information with government thugs.  To their enormous credit, corporate officers have resisted, -- for the most part.  Skeptically, not trusting the motives behind the request.

Readers are reminded nearly the entire network infrastructure is privately owned and operated.  Precisely, why fascist government desperately wishes to encroach and entwine its tentacles.  Supposedly, for "national security."  Industry, however, does not buy it.  Consider the reaction offered by several corporate officials.

A security vendor, Houston-based Bind View Corporation Vice President of Information Security Scott Blake asserted:  "Without a mandate, they'll never get that information.  And even if they get it, I don't know what they'd do with it."

According to the December 16 edition of E Week, a software vendor unidentified by request claimed:  "I see no reason to especially trust government agencies and their staffs with confidential information that could harm my company if leaked.  The government's track record is far from perfect."

Burlington, N.J.-based Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corp. CIO Mike Prince declared:  "I would be concerned about confidentiality.  This sounds like the government putting their nose in things that they don't need to -- with good intentions maybe-- and using national security as a reason.  It would be reasonable if they wanted information on a particular incident.  But the next thing you know, they'll be asking us to capture data that we don't now.  I'd really question the motivation on this. The thing that's frightening is, I could see this turning into some sort of compulsory reporting thing.  It's one thing if it's voluntary, but if it's mandatory, no."

Worse, early next year, the fascist occupying the White House will reportedly propose requiring Internet Service providers create a centralized system, designed to allow broad monitoring of the Internet and more disturbingly, surveillance of all users.   In Nazi America. Sieg Heil, Mein FuhrerAmerica Uber Alles.

Missile "Defense" System

In a blatant attempt to line the pockets of cronies in the defense industry, the Nazi occupying the White House made the decision December 17 to "deploy" a missile "defense" system.  -- Despite the fact the latest $100 million test of a prototype miserably failed two weeks ago. The interceptor warhead failed to separate from the rocket booster, missed the target by hundreds of miles, and harmlessly burned up in the atmosphere.

The Pentagon declared the test "successful", however.  Why?  Simple.  The warhead had survived the booster-rocket stage of flight and was trying to find and destroy its target.  Logical?  How?  Didn't even separate from the booster.  Then again, in Nazi America day is night, night is day, and manure smells sweet.  Yet, the "President" will deploy ten such "interceptors" in 2004, and ten more in 2005.  … 'Ain't' corruption and aggressive stupidity grand?

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld ludicrously and disingenuously declared: "I wouldn't want to overplay it. I wouldn't want to oversell it. I wouldn't want to suggest that it has a depth or breadth or capability that will take some time to evolve."  … No kidding, sir.  Lots of time.   Additional funding as well, billions and billions.   For a system that may never work.  Certainly, never protect against the most likely type of nuclear attack, a device contained in a truck or shipping container.

The "President" falsely asserted deployment of a non-operational, non-functioning missile "defense" system will "protect our citizens against what is perhaps the greatest danger of all -- catastrophic harm that may result from hostile states or terrorist groups armed with weapons of mass destruction and the means to deliver them.  While modest, these capabilities will add to American security and serve as a starting point for improved and expanded capabilities later as further progress is made in researching and developing missile defense technologies and in light of changes in the threat."

Sadly, Mr. Bush is a liar.  The system doesn't work.  Has failed repeatedly.  Despite expenditure of reportedly of well over $100 billion to date.  Doesn't stop the fascist appointed to office from continuing to line the pockets of cronies in the corporate community, however.  Worse, giving the aggressively stupid public a false sense of security from a threat that is minimal, -- attack from intercontinental ballistic missiles, or from shorter-range weapons launched from ships.

The true threat, attack from nuclear devices housed in a truck, shipping container, or even a suitcase, has been conveniently ignored.  Why?  Simple.  The missile "defense" shield is designed to line the pockets of the defense industry.  No more.  No less.  Critics strongly assert a truly operational system could cost in excess of $1 trillion and take decades to perfect.  For a threat that does not currently exist, and will likely not exist for quite a few years.  The appointed "President" has once again scammed the aggressively stupid and cowardly public.

Information Awareness Office

As reported earlier in this publication and elsewhere, the Pentagon Information Awareness Office continues work on a supercomputer-based information processing system designed to grossly invade Fourth Amendment privacy rights of Americans.

The military intends to collect data on visas, airline ticket transactions, car rentals, drivers licenses, fertilizer purchases, arrest records, health and employment records, and data from virtually every other facet of American life.  Supposedly, to predict and prevent another 9/11. In reality?  To create and implement a fascist police-state.

Not clear the system will work reliably in any case.  Even if it does, at what price?  Big Brother?  -- Anyone willing to trade liberty for security deserves and winds up with neither.  … Only tyranny.

Equally disturbing, an Iran-Contra criminal, John Poindexter, is leading the effort.  … A Nazi, exonerated of felony criminal charges due to a technicality.

Opposition To "Patriot" Act Growing

As reported earlier in this publication and elsewhere, municipalities are formally voting to actively resist federal enforcement of the outrageously unconstitutional USA "Patriot" Act.  Have instructed local police  not to cooperate or aid and abet federal goons.  The list of cities stands at 18 and will grow to twenty if Flagstaff, Ariz. and Oakland, Calif. follow suit as expected.

Oakland, Calif. City Councilwoman Nancy Nadel got it quite right declaring: "I think there is strong support.  We can't trade our civil liberties for security and still be fighting for the freedoms our country symbolizes."  Why only twenty cities?  Where in hell are the rest?  Is there no limit to the cowardice of the aggressively stupid citizenry?

Affirmative Action Fallout From Lott Debacle

Due to the ongoing Lott bigotry fiasco, Bush's henchmen are sorely divided regarding two high-profile affirmative action cases sitting before the Supreme Court.  Nazi Solicitor General Theodore Olson is determined to file briefs before the Court against both programs at the University of Michigan.  As most fascists, Olson considers affirmative action reverse discrimination, not what it truly is, -- leveling of the playing field for minorities.

So what's the holdup for the "Administration?"  Political advisors are afraid what effect such shortsighted legal action might have on its already meager minority base.  Especially, in light of the Lott debacle.  Tough, isn't it?  What we're amusingly seeing here is the GOP in its true colors.  … Usually carefully hidden closet bigotry displayed in all its splendor and glory.

Not to imply Democrats are any better.  Their gutless silence regarding Lott is appalling.  Cowardly lukewarm support for affirmative action over the last few years as the United States progresses to fascism, is just as disturbing.   Truly indicative, the party of the donkey, remarkably similar to the GOP, equally places political expediency before principle.

Surprised it took Lott as long as it did to finally fall on the sword and resign from his leadership position.  In a written statement, the "President" disingenuously remarked: "I respect the very difficult decision Trent has made on behalf of the American people."

Sadly, Mr. Bush has once again lied.  The racist bastard did not willingly resign.  Was properly forced out.  -- As a result of belated pressure from the "President" and his henchmen.  The "decision" to step down was not "made on behalf of the American people."  It was made on behalf of Mr. Bush.  So the "President" could get on with imposition of his fascist agenda.  … Rather than having to deal with a continuing freak sideshow, that was seriously taking the wind out of the GOP's sails.

Supreme Court Answers To "President"?

In Nazi America, day is night, night is day, and manure smells sweet.  In the strangest twist of events, the United States Supreme Court asked the "Justice" Department December 16 for a legal opinion.  Wants to know if a Nazi website run by the American Coalition of Life Activists engaged in illegal threats.  Excuse me.  Isn't that the function of the Judiciary, not the Executive Branch?  … Aren't the courts supposed to determine the guilt or innocence of those accused?  Whether laws have indeed been broken?

The website alluded to is called the Nuremberg Files.  The Nazis operating it identify individual physicians providing abortion services, target them for future "prosecution" of "war crimes", label them "guilty" and "baby butchers."  When three doctors were subsequently murdered, the site crossed out their names.  The case has worked itself through the court system.  -- A U.S. appeals court in California ruled wanted posters on the site were designed to intimidate physicians from providing abortions and other reproductive health services.   Worse, there have been at least five murders of physicians and other additional violence.

Finally, after seemingly endless litigation, the Nazis responsible for the site appealed to the Supreme Court.  Apparently, the Court has its head so far up its collective ass, however, justices' eyeballs are turning inside out.  What part of the First Amendment and settled case law don't these fascists understand?  Clearly, speech is not protected when designed to incite violence.   Precisely, what these "religious" zealots are doing on the website.  To pass the buck to the "Justice" Department by asking the Nazis entrenched there for a legal opinion, is like asking the Ku Klux Klan what it thinks of bigotry.  ... Regardless of what the Nazi Solicitor General winds up telling the Court.  Is the Supreme Court indeed that beholden to the fascist it appointed "President?"

Comedy Of Errors

Sheer irony of current world madness would be absolutely hilarious, comical if not so sad and tragic.  … Or so great a threat to hundreds of thousands of innocent non-combatants.  Indeed, a comedy of errors.  In the United States, Die Fuhrer has no comprehension, thoroughly misses the point as to motives of al Qaeda.  Shortsightedly and foolishly thinks terrorists are killing only for the sake of killing.

… For painfully petty and shallow root causes such as jealousy and hatred of the U.S..  Apparently, Mr. Bush does not have the intellectual where-with-all to carefully analyze the profound reasons for widespread hatred of the United States in the Arab world.  … And elsewhere.  The "President" has been most careful, however, not to link al Qaeda and the Palestinians.  Rightfully so, but amusingly for the wrong reasons.

Ole' George knows there eventually has to be a Palestinian state, -- if there is ever to be peace in the Middle East.  If al Qaeda and the Palestinian struggle are linked, however, would make it politically impossible.  Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat has been wise to place distance between his struggle and al Qaeda as well: "Why is bin Laden talking about Palestine now?  He never helped us. He was working in another, completely different area and against our interests… I'm telling him directly not to hide behind the Palestinian cause."

Indeed.  There is no evidence, no proven link between al Qaeda and the Palestinian leadership.  Despite claims by Israelis to the contrary.  If Israel indeed has evidence otherwise, however, should immediately present it for world review and evaluation.  Hasn't stopped the Israeli government from conveniently linking Arafat and bin Laden, however.

Equates both and their objectives, for the sake of political expediency.  Immensely politically convenient since it usefully further demonizes Arafat and falsely further tarnishes the Palestinian struggle for independence.  … Perversely, "justifying" continued Israeli atrocities on the Palestinians in the process.

In this profoundly sad comedy of errors, one unspoken truth is cowardly and deliberately missed by all.  Israeli refusal to withdraw to pre-1967 borders is directly responsible for the creation of terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda.  This outrageously unspoken truth is conveniently ignored.  At great peril.  Also sadly true, Israeli intransigence for so many decades may have permanently made any real chance of peace impossible.  Hearts on both sides may have hardened to the point where peaceful resolution is not achievable.  Sadly, the point of no return has either occurred or is about to.  Time for all sides to end the insanity before it is too late.  Pull back from the brink.

California Detention Debacle

The Nazi "Justice" Department lured up to 2500 Muslim men and boys into a detention center in Southern California about a week ago for routine visa irregularities, -- after disingenuously getting them to present themselves to supposedly register under new anti-terrorism rules.  Have been subjected to strip searches, provided inadequate drinking water, bedding, and other necessities.  Under standing room conditions.  … More to come.

Aggressive Stupidity Has No Bounds

Indeed.  Would you believe the Defense Department is seriously considering a secret directive to the military, authorizing covert ops designed to influence policy makers and public opinion in friendly and neutral nations?  No joke.  The jackass occupying the White House and his shills in the Pentagon are seriously considering launching a propaganda war on our recalcitrant allies and others not sympathetic to the "President's" murderous warmongering agenda.  A phony propaganda war to be conducted by the U.S, military in those countries.

"Creative propaganda" to be used to supposedly alter the exceptionally negative view of this formerly great country held by many in the world community.  A negative view rightfully earned through the outrageous Aryan arrogance of the United States government.  A government that clearly has no respect for the intelligence of the world community.  None.  Serious consideration of such a misguided propaganda war on allies and neutrals is proof positive.  Would have directly the opposite effect of that intended.  Badly backfire, leaving the United States looking the bumbling fool it clearly has become.

If the U.S. truly wants to improve its negative image abroad, it needs to stop unilaterally imposing its will on the world community.  Until that happens, negative opinion will only worsen.  Propaganda will continue to solidify world opinion against us.  Sadly, we're indeed too aggressively stupid and arrogant to understand.

GOP Congress To "Protect" "President"

A Republican majority in both Houses of Congress ensures the Nazi appointed to the White House will not be held accountable for his highly questionable dealings with big corporate donors.  Worse, as reported in the last edition of this publication as well as elsewhere, Bush judicial appointee "Judge" John D. Bates rubberstamped the Bush "Administration's" penchant for absolute secrecy.

In payback to the Nazi "President", callously and conveniently ruled "Slick Dick" Cheney and his equally fascist compadres on the energy commission don't have to release requested documents or account for their wheelings and dealings with financially corpulent energy industry corporate donors.  Cowardly, did so indirectly.  Conveniently, threw out the case without considering its merits or lack thereof.

Not only do energy companies have the ear of the Nazi appointed to the Oval Office, but corporations running the gamut.  Republicans on investigative Congressional committees will make sure Mr. Bush and "Slick Dick" Cheney are not held accountable.  Hopefully, Democrats will give the GOP no peace.  Loudly call attention to continuing outrageous corruption.

Corporate Animal Pollution Controls

With a nod and wink, the Bush "Administration" took care of its cronies in the huge conglomerate farming industry.  EPA Administrator Christie Todd Whitman announced new standards for the largest animal feedlots, December 16.  Standards, supposedly designed to reduce pollution some 25%.  Sounds good?  Certainly must, -- to lot operators.  They get to write their own plans and keep 'em secret from the aggressively stupid public.  … Ain't fascism grand?

Death Row Drop

The "Justice" Department December 15 reported the death row prisoner population dropped last year for the first time since reinstatement of executions in 1976.  Salivating bloodthirsty proponents shouldn't attribute this drop to the supposed effectiveness of capital punishment as a deterrent, however.

… Legalized murder, aggressively practiced in the last supposedly "civilized" Western state still doing so.  Experts strongly assert, however, prosecutors and juries are indeed exercising greater care in imposing this exceptionally barbaric sanction.

In reaction to numerous cases of prisoners falsely accused and convicted.  Only to be released years after the fact through DNA testing.  How many innocent people have been legally murdered by the state?  In a formerly great country quickly moving to a "Christian" theocracy and a fascist police-state, the problem will only worsen.  … After all, only "biblical", right?

For you recalcitrant "religious" fascists out there, how about resolving the legalized murder of innocent, falsely convicted death row inmates this way?  Through passage of new legislation, let's execute every goddamned "prosecutor", "judge", "legal assistant", "court clerk", "police officer", "witness", and "juror" involved in the false conviction of innocent capital defendants.

…  Everyone involved in the outrageous travesty of justice.  Spare no one.  After all, they each had a hand in the legalized murder, or pending murder, of innocent people by the state.  Execute the bastards, even if the falsely convicted death row inmate is exonerated before execution.  Would certainly reduce the number of phony capital cases, wouldn't it?

Would also make jurors, particularly incompetent ones, far less willing to sit on capital cases.   Especially, should their cowardly asses be directly on the line.  The same would be true for all others involved.  Including judges, prosecutors, and police officers.

If we're indeed determined to retain this barbaric sanction, it is time to apply it equally to all.  With a vengeance, because that's all the death penalty is, vengeance.  If you intentionally decide to take a life and it is unwarranted, be prepared to pay the ultimate price.  Whether a judge, cop, prosecutor, juror, witness, etc. in a phony capital case, -- or a common ordinary murderous street thug.  ... Or a jack-booted law enforcement goon who unjustifiably kills during a "dynamic entry" no knock raid.

LAPD Reconsiders Dangerous Chases

Finally, some sanity from law enforcement.  Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton is revising rules and procedures regarding exceptionally dangerous high-speed chases.  … Chases that often kill and maim innocent citizens on the road.  The new chief is considering calling off chases that originate with a minor infraction such as no tag or a burned-out taillight.  Will let police choppers track offenders from a distance, so officers can safely back off.  About time.

While it is incredibly stupid to flee police, no innocent completely uninvolved citizen on the road should pay the price for someone else's aggressive stupidity.  Time for additional legislation.  ... Should an officer not follow department procedure regarding chases, and an innocent citizen is killed, the officer should be tried for capital murder and executed.  Proponents of capital punishment should have no objection, should they?  After all, we all know capital punishement deters criminal behavior, don't we?

Time Bomb In American Cities

While the Nazi occupying the White House continues to sabre-rattle against Iraq, funds extremely expensive weapons systems that don't work, and lines the pockets of his cronies in Corporate America, the nation's mayors claim they're facing the largest increase in demand for emergency shelter and food in the last ten years.  At a time when federal financial support for poverty programs has drastically dropped.  A political time bomb for Mr. Bush as the 2004 presidential sweepstakes loom.

Harvey Klee

Mr. Klee recently informed this writer he's once again considering running for the Llano Independent School District Board. Rightfully and tirelessly, has been highly critical of waste and corruption in the District for many years.  While willing to do whatever is necessary regarding public appearances, writing of campaign literature, etc., he desperately needs financial backing and assistance with the "grunt" work.

Tasks, such as placement of signs, distribution of fliers, and similar legwork.  Readers are reminded the Board is not paid.  Pointedly, only get what they can steal or receive in bribes.  -- While slapping the Good Ole' Boy occupying the Superintendent's office hard on the back, sharing in the wealth.  Looted taxpayer money.  Time for a breath of fresh air.  Klee could and would do some good, rattling a few cages in an effort to force badly-needed change.

LISD is suffering severe financial distress due to years of neglect, greed, theft, misuse of taxpayer money, etc..  From launch of this publication until recently, has always been aggressively targeted on this website.  No one would listen, however.  Sadly, the chickens are finally coming home to roost.  Tough, isn't it?

LISD Superintendent Jack Patton has a history of financial disaster and problems left behind in both Menard and Hereford.  They were glad to get rid of him, according to a former board member and newspaper editor from both communities contacted by this writer about a year and a half ago.  Has done no better here. This outrageous jackass has deliberately run the District into the ground.

If you support badly-needed change and a fresh point of view on the Board, why not contact Mr. Klee at hklee@tstar.net?  Should the Superintendent and current Board continue unchallenged, expect the tax burden to become far more severe.  Sadly, these white-collar thugs will never get enough, and will continue to mercilessly loot, picking your pockets clean, until you courageously take action and put an end to it.  … Should you insist on remaining deafeningly and cowardly silent, however, you get precisely what you richly deserve.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,

Apparently, quick exposure of earlier IP address
spoofing and illicit signing up of this publication
for unrequested "services" has not deterred you from
renewed spamming activity and additional squandering
of company time and good corporate image.

-- Stupidly, using the same spoofed Yahoo.Com server
IP address a second time to retaliate against ongoing
posting of extremely unflattering material on The
Ledger website, regarding outrageously poor Dell
support.  Tough, isn't it?

Couldn't at least use a different spoofed IP address
to make things a little less boring?  ... Be a bit
more creative, Mr. DeRosier.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,

Don't you think it a bit juvenile and in fact
aggressively stupid to use a Yahoo.Com server address
to spoof and illicitly sign this publication up for
unrequested "services"?  ... To both email addresses

Dear Mr. DeRosier:

The following ignored snail-mailed letter to Mr. Dell
has been published in the last two editions of The
Llano Ledger.  Readers are entitled to know precisely
how Mr. Notebook and Dell Computer do business.
Indeed, a public service.  Will continue to be posted
weekly for months.  -- Until I get tired of it.

At that time, a new webpage on The Ledger website will
be created.  All correspondence between Mr. Notebook
as well as Dell "Support" and this writer will be
posted.  -- Again, the readership has the right to know
exactly how both companies operate.  … Particularly,
how poor "support" is at both firms.

Should your attorneys decide to sue, by all means do
so.  With an exceptionally corrupt and abusive court
system, Dell indeed would likely prevail.  Regardless
of the truth.  After all, your multi-billion dollar
corporation can easily financially impose its will.
Would be an empty victory for several reasons,
however.

First, would fully publicly demonstrate precisely how
abusive and repressive a powerful corporate entity can
be, -- ultimately costing market share.  After all,
why buy Dell when you can purchase HP, -- a company
far more attentive to customer concerns and
complaints?

Second, would certainly publicly expose Dell "Support"
for being inept, unresponsive, and profoundly
obfuscating.  Sadly, -- the number one problem in the
view of product users.   … Again, costing market
share.

Third, a suit would bring this publication additional
recognition nationally.  With readership exponentially
expanding, can only further aid and assist, no?

Fourth, should Dell prevail, this publication has no
assets, -- other than the piece of trash this message
is typed on.  Remember?  The supposedly "factory
refurbished" Latitude Mr. Notebook fraudulently sold
as rebuilt?

Fifth, this writer has no assets. Certainly, "judgment
proof", so to speak.  The truth regarding this entire
fiasco would come out in court for all to see,
regardless of whether or not Dell uses its
considerable assets to buy a favorable, self-serving
outcome.

So, should your legal beagles choose to file suit,
bring it on.  … Hardball?  You bet.  Can only wonder
how many others have had to put up with this same
crap, or worse.  While they had no options, this
publication certainly does.  Can indeed expose it to
the light of day.

Bottom line, Mr. DeRosier, is the fact the office of
the CEO has not had the courtesy nor seen fit to
answer the enclosed letter, preferring to stonewall.
-- Or possibly never received the letter at all.

… Could have been conveniently intercepted by a crony
in the Dell mail department?  After all, you knew full
well it was coming.  Nothing less than a response from
the office of the CEO is acceptable.

If his office indeed received the correspondence, it
is glaringly indifferent to unresolved customer
complaints.  Has apparently refused to right the wrong
regardless of legal culpability or lack thereof.

Certainly, aggressively stupid since you've already
likely lost more in sales than it would have cost to
correct the problem.  Corporate image is priceless,
isn't it, or has Dell Computer indeed grown too fat
and complacent to care?  -- Or is this merely a matter
of one Dell employee desperately trying to cover his
ass and/or that of his department?

Letter To Dell CEO

Michael Dell
Chief Executive Officer
Dell Computers
One Dell Way
Round Rock, TX  78682

August 18, 2002

Dear Mr. Dell:

A Dell factory refurbished Latitude was purchased from Mr. Notebook by [redacted] of [redacted] and donated to this non-profit publication about a year ago.  Despite a nearly $900 expenditure, this machine has been a piece of trash since purchase.  Support from Mr. Notebook was non-existent.  Sadly, Dell Support was not much better.

Clearly, after a year's worth of problems, factory "refurbished" does not mean factory "rebuilt".  Apparently, the hard disk, floppy, and CD drives were never replaced.  -- The most likely sources of product failure.  In addition, the supposedly replaced lithium-ion battery module has a design flaw.  Although the machine has always been run on AC power and the battery maintained at 100% charge, intelligence circuitry in the module failed, rendering the battery worthless.  -- Coincidentally occurred during the latest email foray with Dell Support regarding floppy disk failure.  … Aren't I lucky?  Incredibly blessed?

All that was requested from Dell Support this time around, however, was a pointer to diagnostics that would have pinpointed the problem with the floppy drive.  … Not absolutely sure yet whether the failure lies only in the drive itself, or may also involve the socket and possibly bugs in drivers common to both the floppy and CD ROM drives.  Sadly, the CD ROM has never worked flawlessly either and has had occasional problems of reliability.  … At least, it's still working, however.  Unlike the floppy.

While Dell Support indeed provided a pointer to diagnostics, the download ironically requires use of boot disk and floppy.  Indeed, a problem of not being able to get from here to there.  When pointed out to Support, received no further assistance, -- just an outrageous run around.  … Despite assurances on the Dell website such email support supposedly exists for life of the product.

Mr. Dell, I can certainly understand you cannot be aware of all problems within a large corporation.  You do, however, have unaddressed flaws with "refurbished" machines sold by disreputable vendors fraudulently and phonily invoking Dell corporate name, image, and prestige, and more importantly, horrendous problems with a totally unresponsive Dell Support division.  No question, it is doing damage to corporate public image and reputation.  Sadly, although your machines are extremely popular, the greatest problem I've heard from users is lack of support.  Can certainly attest to that from personal experience.

Support outrageously refused to provide an email address for your office, -- unlike HP and other corporations more responsive to unresolved customer problems and complaints.  … An email address would have certainly provided an easy practical way of sending the entire email exchange over the last year.  Would have sorely indicated glaring obfuscation, non-responsiveness, and interminable intentional delay.  Hard to believe you're unaware.  Than again, Dell Corporation could apparently care less.

Mr. Notebook sold the Latitude as a Dell factory refurbished machine, supposedly tested by Dell-trained technicians, clearly so indicated on the bottom of the computer.  Again, the floppy, CD, and hard drives apparently were never replaced.  The most likely components to fail.   Since factory refurbished clearly does not mean factory rebuilt, the computer is no more than a used machine.  … A machine that could have been bought for half the price at a resale shop.  Even less if purchased privately.  With the price of new notebooks precipitously dropping recently to the $900 range and technically capable of running circles around this dinosaur, assuredly have no intention of dumping additional money into this piece of trash.

Mr. Notebook, on the day of purchase, claimed this machine to be factory refurbished.  Repeatedly made the claim.  Clearly, it was not.  Mr. Notebook quickly washed its hands of this lemon, failing to answer follow-up correspondence from this publication regarding product failure shortly after purchase.  Have no intention of wasting additional time and effort haggling further with Mr. Notebook, -- other than to publish an investigative article exposing this entire fiasco.  After all, the public is entitled to know exactly how business was done.

Due to several serious problems never corrected by Dell or Mr. Notebook since purchase of this falsely alleged Dell factory refurbished product, however, can honestly say at this point I would never again purchase a Dell computer, -- new, used, or "factory refurbished".  From anyone.  Certainly would never encourage others to purchase Dell either.  Indeed, why take the risk and put up with the hassle?

Regardless of whether or not Dell Corporation is technically or legally responsible for fraudulent claims made by a vendor of Dell machines, the damage done to corporate image is indeed severe nonetheless.  The lack of competent support and assistance from Dell Corporation in the matter is stunning.  Certainly, costly in terms of good faith and product loyalty lost.  Regardless of legal responsibility.

Have enclosed the last few emails from Support upper management refusing to provide an email address for your office and highly indicative and glaringly demonstrative of ongoing obfuscation over the last year.  Little more than canned, computer-generated messages containing phony platitudes and false concern designed to obfuscate and stonewall rather than provide technical assistance or resolution.  Apparently, the problem is top-down, since tone and substance of upper management Support is no different than that of lower level techs.  Although unquestionably a public service, have held off publishing an investigative article until I hear from your office.

Sincerely,

Fraudulent Deletion Of Ledger Websites

A letter To Burnet County Sheriff Joe Pollock has been posted recently.  Access it by clicking here.

As promised, the letter of complaint sent to Burnet County Judge Martin McLean, regarding fraudulent Ledger Maxpages and Stormpages site deletions originating from the Burnet County Library System and resulting in the ejection of this writer from library computers, has finally been posted.  Readers are reminded this is not the end of the matter.  Just the beginning.  For ongoing coverage of the criminal attacks as well as the letter to the Judge sent in response, click here.

Klee's Kaleidoscope

Be sure to click on Klee's Kaleidoscope for Harvey Klee's latest edition.  This publication is a forum for a diversity of viewpoints. All are encouraged to submit material.

An Honest Business

A rare commodity, honest businesses need a plug.  Although this publication receives no financial remuneration or funding of any kind from Mike's Transmission, this writer has personally known the owner of this new business quite some time and has enormous respect for his integrity.  Mike has had years of experience working on transmissions, -- foreign and domestic, standard and automatic.  This guy has heart and takes enormous pride in his work.  Give him a call at 915-423-1694.  The business is in the process of being launched.  If you like the quality of service, let me know.  Better yet, ask him to send a donation to the Ledger.

Unbridled Fear

As strongly asserted in the last 86 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.

Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.

Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?

Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.

If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
