Today is Veterans Day. Set aside to honor the service and sacrifice of millions of military men and women throughout our history. -- Extraordinary individuals, who willingly placed honor and duty above narrow self-interest. Did virtually anything and everything asked of them, often under horrendous circumstances at staggering personal cost.
Particularly, why last Tuesday's election is profoundly disturbing. -- A terrible affront to the cause our best and brightest embraced, often at the price of their lives: Liberty. Constitutional rights. Principle. … All, apparently gutlessly ignored and lost to pathetically insidious exceptional cowardice of the American public. -- A present paralyzed generation, that's fearfully, cowardly turned its back on all once held sacred, non-negotiable, supremely inalienable.
Foolishly, traded liberty for "security." As the Founders wisely knew, anyone willing to trade liberty for security deserves and winds up with neither. Our forebears fully understood over two hundred years ago what is so tragically missed, dismissed, or ignored today. Sadly, 9/11 turned out to be far more wildly "successful" than terrorists could ever have anticipated, imagined, or hoped.
Effectively, brilliantly emasculated the citizenry of this once great country. No question, terrorism works. Proof positive? Present profound cowardice of the American people. Icing on the cake? Tuesday's election.
The aggressively stupid public turned over the Senate to the GOP and our Nazi "President." Bottom line? Liberty, as we knew it, is apparently no more. The electorate, by the slimmest of margins effectively ratified at the ballot box the "Chief Executive's" evisceration of the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments through enactment of the glaringly unconstitutional "Patriot" Act and other equally unconstitutional Executive Orders. The fascist occupying the White House is quickly consolidating power, eviscerating the United States Constitution. Cowardly Americans have deliberately looked the other way. Cowardice, at its worst. A slap in the face to every soldier who bled and died for the rights this gutless population has so willingly forfeited. In the name of "security."
Regardless of a year's military pounding, bin Laden won. This population is too stupid to realize it. What never could have been lost on the battlefield, has willingly been ceded to the enemy by our Nazi "President" and his stooges in Congress.
The election was marked not only by profound cowardice of voters, but by the GOP as well. Readers will recall Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Harvey L. Pitt had been under fire for quite some time for his pathetic stewardship of this government corporate watchdog. The "President" apparently wanted Pitt out for months, but continued to publicly support him, fearing his resignation would revive severe corporate scandals conveniently off the radar screen.
What to do? Dump him, poll closing time November 5. Pitt's "resignation" was eagerly and gratefully accepted as polls shut down across the nation election night. … Stunningly demonstrative of the "President's" exceptional cowardice. Then again, what the hell else can be expected from a fascist?
The most cowardly issue of the campaign, however, was false vicious Republican political ads. … Ads which made Democratic negative advertising look relatively tame in comparison. Most glaring example? The Chambliss-Cleland contest. Georgia Republican Saxby Chamblis attacked incumbent Senator Max Cleland for having no commitment to national security. Particularly galling, since Cleland is a Vietnam veteran who lost both legs and an arm on the battlefield.
Why would Chambliss so shamelessly attack the courage of the incumbent? Simple. Cleland had refused to support the "President's" plans for "national security", rightfully voted against him eleven times. Tough, isn't it? The Senator courageously placed civil liberties and constitutional rights ahead of the "Chief Executive's" fascist agenda. Unpardonable, to the Nazi Right. Did so, at tremendous personal cost, -- loss of the election to a glaringly gutless and ignorant Republican, and strikingly similar electorate.
Chambliss was so overwrought with emotion he could barely speak during his victory speech. … Hey, Sax? You didn't win the election on basis of fact, but by severely distorting reality. How do you look yourself in the mirror each morning?
Cleland was once head of the Veterans Administration. Had won the Silver Star. Despite the fact Chambliss is not a veteran, the Veterans of Foreign Wars endorsed him. Interesting, isn't it? Apparently, Cleland's politics weren't fascist enough for them.
The GOP ludicrously thinks it has a mandate. How so? This country is deeply divided. Approximately, in half. Republicans will enjoy a majority in the Senate of no more than one or two at the time of this writing. At best. Think Democrats won't offer stiff resistance? Won't filibuster? It takes sixty senators to break off debate. Republicans will have nowhere near enough.
Expect Democrats to aggressively and rightfully filibuster the "President's" extremist judicial candidates. No question, however, many will slip through the GOP-controlled Senate, leading to a far more robust Nazi judiciary. Precisely, what the "Chief Executive" desperately seeks. Bottom line? Ole' George "The Tush" wants extreme Right Wing judges to legislate their fascist philosophy and perverse "religious" views from the bench. According to Republicans, an already outrageously fascist court system is not "conservative" enough.
Consequently, expect further evisceration of civil and constitutional rights as more of these extremists are seated. Expect these Nazis to further restrict a woman's right to do as she pleases with her uterus. These chauvinists desperately want women barefoot, ignorant, pregnant, and in their "proper" place, -- the home. Despite a few token women in high positions of authority. Should Roe v. Wade be overturned, however, it's time for the government to be overthrown.
Expect the "President" to further consolidate power through creation of a repressive Homeland Security Department. … At the price of further loss of constitutional rights, -- and hard-won century-old labor gains and advances to be severely eviscerated in the "Chief Executive's" quest to outlaw union activity and labor protections in the proposed new Cabinet-level agency.
Expect little to no increase in the minimum wage, never mind a livable one. How else can Republican fascists loot the people on the bottom of the food chain? While laughing their portly asses off all the way to the bank, -- after properly giving thanks on bended knee to the Creator every Sunday for their looted good fortune. … Certainly indicative absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Expect no positive change in the healthcare system. In fact, quite the opposite. Taxpayers will consequently take it directly in the rump, -- without the Vaseline. Republicans will do nothing to jeopardize their cronies in the healthcare business. … And it is a business. Expect further loss of privacy. … As the "President" conveniently allows and facilitates sharing of medical information with insurance companies and providers, -- and intentionally as a result to employers. No question, this information will be used to deny coverage and discriminate against employees. The Republican way. "My corporation right or wrong."
Expect the federal deficit to skyrocket as the "President" immorally launches an unprovoked attack on Iraq and other nations. … While making tax cuts, benefiting mainly the rich, permanent. Voodoo economics. History, to repeat itself. … As happened back in the Eighties during the Reagan Administration. -- When the deficit and national debt exploded. Yet, the American people are too stupid to see what's coming. Tough, isn't it?
Should the "President" launch an unprovoked attack against Iraq, now sanctioned and rubberstamped by an unanimous UN Security Council resolution, it will be no more than glaringly demonstrative of unbridled bloodthirst. Precisely, how Mr. Bush gets his cookies off, -- as well as other like-minded Nazis such as the Attorney General. Ole' Johnny Boy has immersed the federal government into the sniper prosecution, -- despite the fact the "Justice" Department has an exceptionally weak federal extortion case against both suspects and will not prosecute.
The Nazi Attorney General wants to be ringleader, however, directing where state prosecution will occur for one reason and one reason only. To ensure both men receive the death penalty. In his zeal to kill, Ole' Johnny Boy has overruled federal prosecutors in many cases where they had refused to invoke the death penalty. Interesting, isn't it? Apparently, this unabashed Nazi would impose stoning penalties against gays, adulterers, and fornicators if possible.
Believes the death penalty to be biblical and "righteous", -- as the exceptionally sick bastard who wrote Leviticus. Personally thinks executions are "an appropriate penalty to enforce the law and protect the dignity of innocent lives." How so, General? How does it "protect the dignity of innocent lives", Counselor? Only, in the sick perverse mind of a Nazi.
With emplacement of a far more robust fascist judiciary, expect an exponential increase in discrimination suffered by Blacks, Hispanics, gays, and women. Again, the Republican way. Cowardly, gutless closet bigotry. More incisive and difficult to combat than honest and open prejudice displayed by the Klan.
Expect "religious" bigotry to geometrically increase as this once great country unconstitutionally moves to a "Christian" theocracy. School vouchers and proposed disbursement of federal funds to churches for "charitable aid" to the impoverished will facilitate matters. … In direct violation of the First Amendment. Taxpayer funds will be used to indoctrinate the poor.
Nazis in the United States cannot comprehend the First Amendment guaranties not only freedom of religion, but freedom FROM it. In a "Christian" theocracy, however, Jews, Moslems, Buddhists, Hindus, etc., will be out of luck. Severely, discriminated against. To say nothing of agnostics, non-monotheists, and atheists. The "President", in direct violation of the Sixth Amendment, is considering dropping all federal charges against Moussaoui and trying him in a military tribunal. Why? It won't have to allow the defendant in such a "military" court to confront his accusers and obtain witnesses on his behalf. Raw Nazism. Goddamned kangaroo justice. Courtesy, of the fascist appointed "President." A bloodthirsty Nazi who will kill Moussaoui any way he can. With no due process. No access to his accusers before and during "trial." No access to witnesses on his behalf. Anything to execute the sick bastard, -- a foreign national who apparently had nothing to do with the 9/11 catastrophe. ... According to numerous officials within the "Justice" Department and CIA.
The above is only a brief glimpse at what is likely to come as a result of the exceptional cowardice of the American people last Tuesday. Expect the "President" to keep the country at war until at the very least the presidential election two years from now. Former House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt, in response to Tuesday's Democratic losses, amusingly declared Democrats need to offer an "alternative" to the "President's" fascist agenda. Too late, Dick. Time for a third party to challenge Republican Nazis. You and your cohorts have demonstrated absolutely no stomach for aggressively confronting the GOP. None. … Too afraid of political repercussions. Ironically and precisely, why you and your cronies so badly lost November 5.
Democratic Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle is proof positive there is little to no difference between both major political parties. ... Indicated on a Sunday morning talking head show Democrats will not filibuster the "President's" fascist proposed Homeland Security Department. Will join Republicans to stop a filibuster should Democratic Senator Robert Byrd choose to do so. Interesting, isn't it? Readers are reminded Mr. Nobles is one of the Good Ole' Boys. … A former Llano County Deputy who is not qualified to be dog catcher, never mind JP. As reported earlier in this publication, Mr. Nobles during his law enforcement "duties" several years ago beat the hell out of a then 42-year-old Buchanan Dam woman, -- while her hands were cuffed behind her back. Was nonetheless appointed to his current position as "judge." Kicker? No one had the guts to run against him in Tuesday's election.
Last Tuesday is one of the blackest in recent history. Sadly, more so than 9/11 due to what appears to be the permanent loss of liberty and constitutional rights. … Not, because Democrats lost. Laughably, they're no better than the GOP. Neither party has any appreciation of liberty and rights. None. Has not for many years. That's right. A 19-year-old boy who attained the highest Scout rank Eagle last year, may be forced out of Scouting. Why? … Gay? No. A thief? No. Drug user? No. Liar? No. Coward? No.
This young man, a college freshman and assistant scoutmaster in a Port Orchard, Wa. troop, is a stellar example of Scouting at its very best. … Requires enormous effort, determination, and character to attain Eagle. Darrel Lambert has been a Scout for ten years. His mother, Trish Lambert, is Scoutmaster. Both are dedicated to this fine organization.
For you former Scouts, remember the Scout Law? A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. Brings back memories, doesn't it? No question, Mr. Lambert is all these, -- and far more. So, what the hell is the problem?
Mark Hunter does not think so. Hunter is Director of Marketing and Administration for the Chief Seattle Council. Strongly believes Mr. Lambert is not "reverent." -- Certainly not, by his exceptionally narrow view and definition of "reverence." You see, Mr. Lambert is, has been, an atheist since ninth grade, -- and his study of evolution. A "crime", no doubt, to the fascist "Christian" element in the United States. … Atheism, that is. … To some, evolution as well.
Make no mistake. Many, if not most, Christians believe in evolution. The Catholic Church long ago made peace with its scientific basis. Believes the Creator worked within an evolutionary framework. Does not literally interpret Genesis, but views it as a metaphor. Other Christian denominations have similar views. The fascist "Christian" Right does not. Interprets the Bible literally. … Apparently, still wants to stone prostitutes, gays, adulterers to death, --as prescribed by the sick puppy who wrote Leviticus. -- Think they still believe the earth to be flat?
Kicker? The Scouts, on their membership application, require boys and adult leaders to state they recognize a higher power, though not necessarily a religious one. Fascinating, isn't it? The founders of this fine organization clearly did not want to box their membership in. Wanted no part of religious bigotry.
Interestingly, Mr. Lambert was upfront when interviewed by the Board for his Eagle badge. Told them he was not a believer at that time. … Against, his mother's advice. Mom does believe in God, but does not think her son should be punished for his lack of belief. Scout Board members at the time praised Mrs. Lambert for having a son who had the courage and integrity to be forthright with them. Awarded him his Eagle Badge. That's right, he received the rank. Despite his professed atheism.
Apparently, things quickly changed after Mr. Lambert and his mother recently attended a scoutmasters retreat. The group was reportedly told: "A person who doesn't believe in God is not a good citizen." Mr. Lambert walked out. Rightfully, so. The statement is glaringly, profoundly false, -- as demonstrated by millions of exceptionally good people in this country who are agnostics, non-monotheists, and atheists.
For a fascist to assert otherwise, is highly demonstrative of Aryan arrogance and indicative of outrageous intolerance and bigotry. … Intolerance and bigotry strongly condemned by the head honcho who established Christianity, -- not the eviscerated, bastardized "Christianity" professed by millions of "Christian" fascists currently. Bona fide Nazis who are killing the American dream and everything this formerly great country used to stand for.
Lambert has been given a week to abide by his vow of "reverence", or get the hell out of Scouting. -- Or as Mr. Lambert put it, has a week to find God. Interesting, isn't it? As the Scout Board that earlier awarded Lambert his Eagle Badge, this writer strongly believes this young man has already done so. While Lambert indeed believes in no traditional "religious" framework or organization, his exemplary life is proof positive and glowing demonstration of "reverence" at its very best. Truly, does not matter what he calls or labels the guiding principle of life. Only matters that he follows that "principle."
Whether that principle is Christian, Judaic, Moslem, Buddhist, Hindu, Wiccan, etc., -- or no traditional organized belief at all, is not important. It is the end result that matters. Not so, however, to the "Christian" Right. Certainly not, to Mr. Hunter who strongly declared: "Advocating a belief in a supreme being has been a core value of the Boy Scouts. The 12th point of the Scout Law is `reverent,' and that includes being faithful in your religious duties and respecting the beliefs of others."
Apparently, Mr. Hunter does not apply that same "respect" to the beliefs of Mr. Lambert, despite hypocritical assurances to the contrary. Neither does national Scout spokesman Gregg K. Shields who pompously declared: "If he feels that way, we respect his beliefs, we just ask him to respect the beliefs of the organization. We have asked him to make a decision: Does he have a belief in a supreme being, and can he put his fingers in the air and say, `On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God?' It would be a disservice to all the other members to allow someone to selectively obey or ignore our rules."
… Hey, Gregg? Where have we heard this very same hypocrisy before? You show absolutely no tolerance for Lambert's views, yet demand he accept yours, -- or suffer the consequences. Aryan arrogant, wouldn't you say? He's already "done his duty" to God and country. Done so, admirably. Who the hell are you to tell him what he can or cannot think or believe? Why do you Nazis remain so adamant in forcing your narrow perverse "religious" views on all? Is it the power? How you get your cookies off?
How is he selectively obeying or ignoring the rules? Despite no formal profession of "Christianity" or any other belief system, he has lived by those very same principles. Wake up, jackass, you've disgraced yourself and embarrassed other more tolerant members of your organization. … Each parent in Lambert's troop signed a letter of support begging you not to dump this exceptionally fine man.
As a private organization, the U.S. Supreme Court has correctly ruled the Boys Scouts indeed have the right to set their own rules. Absolutely, have the right to do so. No question. ... Sadly, have the right as well to embrace fascism. As clearly demonstrated by their bigotry directed against gays and now, atheists.
Charitable organizations also have the right to consequently deny giving them funds, -- as the United Way has done. Much to their credit. Hope they continue to do so, and others follow suit. The only thing the Nazi Right seems to understand is money. How better to force the issue than deny them funds?
Should "religious" bigotry continue in Scouting, why would anyone want to participate? How is it honorable and upstanding to teach intolerance and bigotry directed against anyone? Including gays and atheists? Why would we want our sons subject to "religious" bigots spewing no more than hate, intolerance, and Aryan arrogance? ... Perversely, in the name of God?
Kicker? The reporter who interviewed Mr. Shields, Dean E. Murphy, wrote: "As for the other 11 points of the Scout Law, Mr. Shields could not say whether anyone had been ejected for being untrustworthy, disloyal, unhelpful, unfriendly, discourteous, unkind, disobedient, cheerless, unthrifty, cowardly or sloppy." … Fascinating, isn't it? Truly insightful, as well.
Subsequent to writing the above, Mr. Lambert received
the boot Monday, November 4. Received notice from the Chief Seattle
Council and plans to appeal, declaring: "Am I bitter? No. Disappointed?
Yeah, We're in the 21st century. Our country was founded on religious
freedom, and the Boy Scouts of America are still discriminating.''
Should this decision stand, it is highly indicative of the bigotry to come
as the United States moves to a "Christian" theocracy.
While the appointed "President" continues to nominate extremist candidates to the bench, apparently there is a growing backlash festering in the judiciary. It is common knowledge courts nearly always support corrupt and abusive police officers. Conveniently, look the other way. When a judge refuses to tolerate such nonsense, he or she is often reversed on appeal. … As happened in a case presided over by District Judge Charles A. Shaw in St. Louis. Mr. Shaw is black. The police officer he ruled against is white. The "officer's" victim is black.
The Judge ruled against the "officer", who had sued the Board of Police Commissioners for supposedly violating his rights when investigated for assaulting the black teenager. The Judge rightfully would have no part of it, but was reversed on appeal by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. … Seems there has been an ongoing battle between the Judge and the higher court for quite some time.
Bottom line? Shaw excoriated the appeals court in
a ruling accusing them of racism, -- and the higher court sharply responded
in kind through an unsigned opinion by all eleven active judges.
What makes this so unusual is the public display of pique by both courts.
… Can only hope the public candor continues. Is a breath of fresh
air. Unless the abuse and corruption is brought to the light of day,
things will never change. Closet racism and tolerance of criminal
police "officers" run rampant throughout the fascist judiciary. Are
a severe blight on this once great nation.
The Bush "Administration" continues to conveniently ignore outrageous violations of international law by the Israeli government and its military goons in occupied Palestinian territory. In a report released November 4, Amnesty International asserted Israeli forces engaged in "unlawful killings, torture and ill-treatment of prisoners, wanton destruction of hundreds of homes," during raids in Jenin and Nablus earlier this year.
Palestinians in bulldozed homes were left in the rubble
to die. Israeli troops refused to allow ambulances passage to the
injured, firing at or around emergency rescue vehicles. Prisoners
were stripped to their underwear and beaten. Yet, the Nazi occupying
the White House continues to look the other way and ignore ongoing Israeli
atrocities. Remains adamant in his determination to financially support
a renegade state that continues to flout international law and civility.
In a deliberate attempt to aid the Bush "Administration" in its fight for unlimited power, the United States Supreme Court ruled November 4 decisions made by the Executive Branch regarding asylum requests are final. Apparently, not subject to review by an appeals court. Nazis on the highest court of the land overruled an appeals court decision that reversed an "Administration" refusal to grant asylum to a young Guatemalan who feared for his life had he been forced to return. Ruled without hearing arguments.
Clear insight into the "Administration's" agenda is provided
by Nazi Solicitor General Theodore Olson in the court filing: "Congress
has charged the attorney general, not the courts, with administering the
immigration laws." These fascists want no court review of anything
the "Administration" does. They demand to operate with impunity.
Not only has Lady Liberty turned her back on immigrants now, she apparently
is giving them the finger. American, as mom and apple pie.
All across America, people of all ages are seeking ways to express their support for those ideals and values on which our country was founded. What better way to accomplish this than for you and your family to attend a Veterans Day program held in your local community? During these uncertain times it can serve as an inspiration for children especially to learn of the importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices made by our brave veterans who fought and died so we may live in a free country.
To recognize and honor those courageous men and women who have served and are now serving in the armed services of the United States of America, Kingsland Memorial Post #437, The American Legion, will hold a Veterans Day program at its Post Home Monday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. To get to the Post from Kingsland, take Farm Road 2545 at highway 1431 (the Conoco Station across from Ace Hardware) and go east about two miles to Legion Loop.
Similar Post programs have been very well attended in
the past, so you are advised to get there early. All are invited and encouraged
to attend – particularly those with children of school age. As in the past,
an outstanding speaker is planned for the event and several local dignitaries
are expected to be on hand to commemorate the occasion. Refreshments will
be provided courtesy of the Auxiliary Unit.
Mr. Klee recently informed this writer he's once again considering running for the Llano Independent School District Board. Rightfully and tirelessly, has been highly critical of waste and corruption in the District for many years. While willing to do whatever is necessary regarding public appearances, writing of campaign literature, etc., he desperately needs financial backing and assistance with the "grunt" work.

Time for a breath of fresh air. Klee could and would do some good, rattling a few cages in an effort to force badly-needed change.

From launch of this publication until recently, has always been aggressively targeted on this website. No one would listen, however. Sadly, the chickens are finally coming home to roost. LISD Superintendent Jack Patton has a history of financial disaster and problems left behind in both Menard and Hereford. They were glad to get rid of him, according to a former board member and newspaper editor from both communities contacted by this writer about a year and a half ago. Has done no better here. This outrageous jackass has deliberately run the District into the ground.

posted. -- Again, the readership has the right
to know
exactly how both companies operate. … Particularly,
how poor "support" is at both firms.
Should your attorneys decide to sue, by all means do
so. With an exceptionally corrupt and abusive court
system, Dell indeed would likely prevail. Regardless
of the truth. After all, your multi-billion dollar
corporation can easily financially impose its will.
Would be an empty victory for several reasons,
however.
First, would fully publicly demonstrate precisely how
abusive and repressive a powerful corporate entity can
be, -- ultimately costing market share. After all,
why buy Dell when you can purchase HP, -- a company
far more attentive to customer concerns and
complaints?
Second, would certainly publicly expose Dell "Support"
for being inept, unresponsive, and profoundly
obfuscating. Sadly, -- the number one problem in
the
view of product users. … Again, costing market
share.
Third, a suit would bring this publication additional
recognition nationally. With readership exponentially
expanding, can only further aid and assist, no?
Fourth, should Dell prevail, this publication has no
assets, -- other than the piece of trash this message
is typed on. Remember? The supposedly "factory
refurbished" Latitude Mr. Notebook fraudulently sold
as rebuilt?
Fifth, this writer has no assets. Certainly, "judgment
proof", so to speak. The truth regarding this entire
fiasco would come out in court for all to see,
regardless of whether or not Dell uses its
considerable assets to buy a favorable, self-serving
outcome.
So, should your legal beagles choose to file suit,
bring it on. … Hardball? You bet. Can
only wonder
how many others have had to put up with this same
crap, or worse. While they had no options, this
publication certainly does. Can indeed expose it
to
the light of day.
Bottom line, Mr. DeRosier, is the fact the office of
the CEO has not had the courtesy nor seen fit to
answer the enclosed letter, preferring to stonewall.
-- Or possibly never received the letter at all.
… Could have been conveniently intercepted by a crony
in the Dell mail department? After all, you knew
full
well it was coming. Nothing less than a response
from
the office of the CEO is acceptable.
If his office indeed received the correspondence, it
is glaringly indifferent to unresolved customer
complaints. Has apparently refused to right the

regardless of legal culpability or lack thereof.
Certainly, aggressively stupid since you've already
likely lost more in sales than it would have cost to
correct the problem. Corporate image is priceless,

Dear Mr. Dell:
A Dell factory refurbished Latitude was purchased from Mr. Notebook by [redacted] of [redacted] and donated to this non-profit publication about a year ago. Despite a nearly $900 expenditure, this machine has been a piece of trash since purchase. Support from Mr. Notebook was non-existent. Sadly, Dell Support was not much better.
Clearly, after a year's worth of problems, factory "refurbished" does not mean factory "rebuilt". Apparently, the hard disk, floppy, and CD drives were never replaced. -- The most likely sources of product failure. In addition, the supposedly replaced lithium-ion battery module has a design flaw. Although the machine has always been run on AC power and the battery maintained at 100% charge, intelligence circuitry in the module failed, rendering the battery worthless. -- Coincidentally occurred during the latest email foray with Dell Support regarding floppy disk failure. … Aren't I lucky? Incredibly blessed?
All that was requested from Dell Support this time around, however, was a pointer to diagnostics that would have pinpointed the problem with the floppy drive. … Not absolutely sure yet whether the failure lies only in the drive itself, or may also involve the socket and possibly bugs in drivers common to both the floppy and CD ROM drives. Sadly, the CD ROM has never worked flawlessly either and has had occasional problems of reliability. … At least, it's still working, however. Unlike the floppy.
While Dell Support indeed provided a pointer to diagnostics, the download ironically requires use of boot disk and floppy. Indeed, a problem of not being able to get from here to there. When pointed out to Support, received no further assistance, -- just an outrageous run around. … Despite assurances on the Dell website such email support supposedly exists for life of the product.
Mr. Dell, I can certainly understand you cannot be aware of all problems within a large corporation. You do, however, have unaddressed flaws with "refurbished" machines sold by disreputable vendors fraudulently and phonily invoking Dell corporate name, image, and prestige, and more importantly, horrendous problems with a totally unresponsive Dell Support division. No question, it is doing damage to corporate public image and reputation. Sadly, although your machines are extremely popular, the greatest problem I've heard from users is lack of support. Can certainly attest to that from personal experience.
Support outrageously refused to provide an email address for your office, -- unlike HP and other corporations more responsive to unresolved customer problems and complaints. … An email address would have certainly provided an easy practical way of sending the entire email exchange over the last year. Would have sorely indicated glaring obfuscation, non-responsiveness, and interminable intentional delay. Hard to believe you're unaware. Than again, Dell Corporation could apparently care less.
Mr. Notebook sold the Latitude as a Dell factory refurbished machine, supposedly tested by Dell-trained technicians, clearly so indicated on the bottom of the computer. Again, the floppy, CD, and hard drives apparently were never replaced. The most likely components to fail. Since factory refurbished clearly does not mean factory rebuilt, the computer is no more than a used machine. … A machine that could have been bought for half the price at a resale shop. Even less if purchased privately. With the price of new notebooks precipitously dropping recently to the $900 range and technically capable of running circles around this dinosaur, assuredly have no intention of dumping additional money into this piece of trash.
Mr. Notebook, on the day of purchase, claimed this machine to be factory refurbished. Repeatedly made the claim. Clearly, it was not. Mr. Notebook quickly washed its hands of this lemon, failing to answer follow-up correspondence from this publication regarding product failure shortly after purchase. Have no intention of wasting additional time and effort haggling further with Mr. Notebook, -- other than to publish an investigative article exposing this entire fiasco. After all, the public is entitled to know exactly how business was done.
Due to several serious problems never corrected by Dell or Mr. Notebook since purchase of this falsely alleged Dell factory refurbished product, however, can honestly say at this point I would never again purchase a Dell computer, -- new, used, or "factory refurbished". From anyone. Certainly would never encourage others to purchase Dell either. Indeed, why take the risk and put up with the hassle?
Regardless of whether or not Dell Corporation is technically or legally responsible for fraudulent claims made by a vendor of Dell machines, the damage done to corporate image is indeed severe nonetheless. The lack of competent support and assistance from Dell Corporation in the matter is stunning. Certainly, costly in terms of good faith and product loyalty lost. Regardless of legal responsibility.
Have enclosed the last few emails from Support upper management refusing to provide an email address for your office and highly indicative and glaringly demonstrative of ongoing obfuscation over the last year. Little more than canned, computer-generated messages containing phony platitudes and false concern designed to obfuscate and stonewall rather than provide technical assistance or resolution. Apparently, the problem is top-down, since tone and substance of upper management Support is no different than that of lower level techs. Although unquestionably a public service, have held off publishing an investigative article until I hear from your office.
