Publisher's Note: This publication receives no financial support through advertising. Although shaken down, looted, and abused by corrupt government, area businesses remain unwilling to stand up. Locals are too gutless to donate financially, cowardly fearing retribution. For this publication to survive, national readers need to contribute. Furthermore, desperately need an additional laptop or desktop computer as back-up to a failing Dell Latitude notebook currently being used. Got one gathering dust in the closet? Care to donate? While conveniently accessing these webpages "free" of charge, never forget this publication remains non-profit and depends entirely on nearly non-existent community support. At the same time, The Ledger is, has been, and will always remain beholden to NO ONE. -- Precisely why there is no financial assistance. ... From day of launch and certainly a no-brainer to this very day, firmly resolved to walk away first rather than compromise principle. -- To the chagrin of many and delight of few. … Right, "Judge"? The United States government continues to outrageously deny American citizens access to the courts, phonily asserting "national security" to callously abridge the Bill of Rights. Nazi U.S. prosecutors continue to refuse to release to defense attorneys a classified document supposedly containing evidence against Jose Padilla.
These outrageous fascists, in violation of their oaths of office, want Federal District Judge Michael B. Mukasey to review the document. Material that has not been shared with defense counsel. It purports to support the "President's" decision to classify Padilla as an "enemy combatant", permanently denying him access to the courts.
Do you understand, readers? The fascist appointed to the Oval Office by a Nazi Supreme Court is asserting the power to classify any American citizen he chooses as an "enemy combatant", to unconstitutionally imprison them indefinitely without access to the American court system. Defense attorneys in this case have offered to undergo security clearance to obtain access to the classified document. Nazi prosecutors have said they are not entitled to review it, regardless. Fascinating, isn't it?
Reeks of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. No more
than kangaroo justice and bastardization of everything this formerly great
country used to stand for. A secret police-state and secret courts,
-- where the accused, in direct violation of the Bill of Rights, are callously
and unconstitutionally denied access to evidence used against them.
A recently conducted study by Privacy Journal indicates Texas is in the bottom category of a five-tier ranking system regarding privacy protection. Who'd a 'thunk' it, no? Couldn't be, could it? In 1999, was "not on the radar screen" according to The Journal. Still not much better, but at least has improved somewhat due to new statutes restricting insurance companies and employers from using genetic information. Currently, a "do not call list" penalizes telemarketers who violate consumers' wishes. Tough, isn't it? Also, restricts use of automatic dialers.
The federal government is not much better. Would
have been placed in the fourth tier had it been a state. There is
virtually no federal protection of financial information. Law enforcement
thugs are privy to all library patron information. Readers are reminded
the "President" has decided not to implement far stricter standards for
sharing of medical information, -- as a favor to his cronies in Corporate
America. Consequently, expect insurance companies and employers to
aggressively use shared health information to stick it to policy-holders
and employees. -- As American as mom and apple pie.
Since August 21, the Department of "Justice" has continued to stonewall a request for information regarding implementation of the "Patriot" Act. Readers are reminded this grossly unconstitutional statute was signed into law by the Nazi appointed to the White House and has been in effect for the last year. Among many glaringly unconstitutional powers granted corrupt and abusive law enforcement thugs, it eviscerated privacy, allowing government goons access to email, library circulation records, bookstore purchases, phone conversations, etc..
All, without a traditional warrant. A fishing trip.
Without essentially ever having to tell targets they've been under surveillance.
In direct violation of the Fourth Amendment. Courtesy of our Nazi
"President" and his gutless shills in Congress. The American Civil
Liberties Union, the American Booksellers Foundation For Free Expression,
the Freedom to Read Foundation, and the Electronic Privacy Information
Center filed suit October 24 to force release of information as to how
the "Justice" Department is implementing this exceptional threat to liberty
and rights.
The U.S. Supreme Court let stand a California Supreme Court ruling allowing officers to search vehicles without a warrant should the driver not show identification or registration paperwork. The California ruling was a 4-3 split decision on two similar cases. Justice Joyce Kennard was obviously not a happy camper, pointedly declaring the 9/11 catastrophe responsible for a decision that "does nothing to enhance our security and does much to erode our Fourth Amendment rights."
That's right, Judge. Too bad your fellow Nazi justices have absolutely no understanding or appreciation of the Fourth Amendment. None. The Founders wisely knew anyone willing to trade liberty for security deserves and winds up with neither. Just goddamned Nazi tyranny. The government thugs involved in two separate cases conveniently used the lack of paperwork and identification to justify a warrantless search. The Nazi judicial system backed up the government goons involved. In direct violation of the Fourth Amendment.
The stormtroopers had no probable cause for a search. Lack of ID or registration paperwork is no indication of probable cause of a crime, necessitating a search amounting to no more than a fishing expedition by government thugs. Not surprisingly, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the case, allowing this exceptionally abusive ruling to stand.
Damned hypocritical of the fascists sitting on the highest
court of the land. Why? In 1998, the same Nazis ruled officers
cannot search vehicles or their occupants after citing them for routine
traffic violations. Interesting, isn't it? The jack-booted
criminal element in the United States has again been given carte blanche
to callously piss on the Fourth Amendment and supposedly inalienable rights
of the people. Sieg Heil.
Desperate to raise the minimum wage to a livable one, Democrats paired an increase with tax cuts to secure Republican support. Were unsuccessful. Too many on both sides of the aisle are in the pocket of Corporate America. Subservient to corporate lobbying bribes. … Make no mistake. Lobbying is no more than legalized bribery.
Senator Kennedy had introduced legislation raising the wage from the current $5.15 an hour to $5.75 this year, $6.25 in 2003, and $6.65 in 2004. Nowhere near a livable wage, but an improvement over the status quo. Republicans would have no part of it. Are firm believers in what amounts to no more than indentured servitude. Precisely, how the "haves" in this country make their money off the backs of the people on the bottom of the food chain.
Exactly why, there is no cooperation by Republicans in this matter, and very little more on the part of Democrats. Greedy self-interest rules. Millions in this country live in poverty, at or slightly above the minimum wage. Millions. With no benefits or healthcare insurance. While greedy Democrats and Republicans laugh their portly asses off all the way to the bank, -- after properly giving thanks each Sunday on bended knee.
The Nazi appointed to the White House is in favor of a small increase, -- only if states are allowed to opt out. Generous of the "President", isn't it? -- As the fascist, who made his looted fortune engaged in highly questionable business practices as described on this website and elsewhere, wears "religion" on his sleeve and desperately seeks to kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. ... To "save" them.
The reaction of the business community has been summed up remarkably well by one well-heeled lobbying group. Chief Senate lobbyist Susan Eckerly of the National Federation of Independent Business declared: "For our members, this is the worst time possible to increase the minimum wage. We're in the middle of an economic slowdown coupled with double-digit increases in health insurance premiums that our members are facing. Even coupled with tax cuts. Our members philosophically oppose mandating what their wage and benefit structure should be."
Bet they do, Ms. Eckerly. How else can you and your cronies line your pockets? Maintain your current opulent lifestyle? ... While employees foot the bill and see their standard of living drop. Your whining, regarding increases in health insurance premiums, is disingenuous. Most firms pass on the increases, -- or cancel coverage. Worsening the healthcare crisis in this country. Gleefully, laughing their portly asses off all the way to the bank.
We're in an economic slowdown for several reasons, Ms. Eckerly. … Not the least of which are earlier outrageous excesses in the business community. Chickens, coming home to roost. Now, when that finally happens, you conveniently wish to take no responsibility and absorb your fair share of the loss. Instead, you stick it to the people who are the source of all wealth, the true philanthropists. The people on the bottom. The labor pool. Without which, there would be no wealth.
Rather than blame labor, Ms. Eckerly, why not hold the "President's" feet to the fire? No one has better "talked down" economic prosperity than Ole' George, "The Tush." Think the warmongering has aided and abetted the ailing economy? What happened to the budget surplus the "Chief Executive" foolishly squandered?
Fortunately, state and local governments are taking up the slack. Filling the federal vacuum. Imposing a livable wage through state statute and local ordinances. About time. The sons of bitches in Congress give themselves cost of living increases nearly every goddamned year, yet refuse to do the same for their constituents. Many enter Congress as paupers and retire millionaires. Enjoy the best healthcare in the world. Courtesy of looted taxpayers.
Republicans, for years, whined increases in wages are passed on to consumers. Certainly are, since legislators are not willing to correct the problem by using tax incentives to discourage such greed. Would end such practices quickly if the tax burden doubled for every buck passed on. Should businesses fail as a result, so be it. Who cares? Others would quickly arise to take their place. Why protect businesses? Supposed to be "free" enterprise, right? While businesses want absolutely no regulation directed against them, they desperately seek protection against pesky consumers and employees. Interesting, isn't it?
Business owners whine they'd have to cut jobs and benefits. Tough, no? Think they'll foolishly take on the increased workload themselves? It gets passed on to other remaining employees. … Until there aren't enough left, and management is finally forced to do its fair share. This, coming from a writer, self-employed since graduate school in a variety of small businesses and thoroughly familiar with management-labor problems.
The most endearing and enlightened management viewpoint,
highly indicative of profound greed, belongs to Pat Cleary of the National
Association of Manufacturers: "It's a political issue. We always
fight it in an election year. There's almost no correlation between the
minimum wage and poverty." … And manure smells sweet, doesn't
it, Pat?
Mr. Allen, 70, is going to jail. For 90 days. Why? He and his Nazi henchmen held down and whipped children in his "church". "Christian" "love" and "charity", you understand. The Bible "tells him so." --Physically assault children, and you get 90 days. No more.
Mr. Allen is not a happy camper, however. Resents going to jail for only doing what the Bible "tells him so." The son of a bitch "judge", T. Jackson Bedford Jr., is no better. In fact, a sick bastard, himself. Thinks its okay for parents to use an open hand "spanking" as opposed to a belt or other weapon. The Nazi preacher retorted: "I can't maintain discipline in my home by just hand-spanking our children."
Bet he can't. Too damned stupid. Has no clue. Isn't fit to walk the streets, never mind occupy a pulpit. Is a danger to children and should be incarcerated in a mental institution for the rest of his life, -- without chance of release. The bastard has already defied the "judge's" order not to "advise or participate in any way in the discipline." Has done so in the pulpit.
Obscenely, uttered in "church": "I can't maintain discipline in my home by just hand-spanking our children." To which his equally sick parishioners responded: "Amen! That's right!" … Goddamned sick "religion."
Icing on the cake? This sick puppy held a mock whipping
in "church" the same day. … Swinging a belt behind a 14-year-old boy.
Apparently, how this insane perverse bastard gets his cookies off.
The "Justice" Department is intensely concerned its prosecution of Zacarias Moussaoui and others may be in jeopardy. Remember Bush "Administration" glee at capture of Ramzi bin al-Shibh and others in Pakistan back in September? Unabashed gloating?
Seems court-appointed attorneys have vigorously demanded immediate access to those captured in a determined effort to interview and obtain trial testimony. Tough, isn't it? Government has refused, falsely citing "national security" concerns. Clearly, doesn't want the truth exposed. Doesn't fit in with the "President's" fascist agenda.
A legal battle has been raging in court for weeks regarding this issue and the egregious violation of Moussaoui's Sixth Amendment right to not only obtain witnesses on his behalf, but to also confront his accusers. In direct violation of the Constitution, open government statutes, wishes of the Founders, and the right of the people to know, "Judge" Leonie M. Brinkema sealed the record to benefit prosecutors and their government masters. Supposedly, for "national security" reasons. The "judge" has violated her oath of office, and should resign in disgrace.
The house of cards is apparently beginning to fall. The "Justice" Department is acutely aware it has a serious problem. It is believed the White House reaction will be to conduct future "prosecutions" in military tribunals, where defendants will have far fewer rights and protections. Readers, what we have here is raw Nazism and formation of a fascist police-state.
Glaringly, the government has little to no evidence in these cases and is forced to resort to egregious violation of constitutional rights to enforce its will. Is highly abusive, doing so. Consider the case of Hussein al-Attas.
Al-Attas, 24, is the former Moussaoui roommate who lied to FBI thugs during questioning. As part of a plea bargain, was conveniently sentenced to "time served" in return for testifying against Moussaoui. Problem is, he won't be released from jail. Any time soon. Is being held indefinitely as a "material witness". In direct violation of the United States Constitution.
Moussaoui's trial has been delayed indefinitely, until at least next summer. Al-Attas will remain jailed. The trial has been delayed due to government refusal to allow Moussaoui's defense team access to "detained" witnesses and government thugs involved, who have information regarding their client. In direct violation of the Sixth Amendment.
Pathetically, al-Attas believes he will be treated justly by government Nazi thugs, writing in a letter to officials declaring he was "in a state of shock and confusion when I lied to law enforcement agents. All I was trying to do was to distance myself from a situation that didn't really involve me. Still, I should have been truthful and let the truth take care of me."
Sadly, Mr. al-Attas, groveling, obviously thinks he's being fairly treated, -- despite the fact he's still being illegally held as a "material witness." Apparently, also believes the United States government will do right by him. Sad, isn't it? Has to be his youth. Prosecutors could care less about justice, and whether or not they have the right suspect. ... Just nail somebody, anybody.
People within the "Justice" Department itself, as well
as the intelligence community, do not believe Moussaoui was involved in
9/11. Yet, he is being falsely prosecuted precisely for one reason
and one reason only. The government has miserably failed to bring
any of those truly responsible for the catastrophe to trial. Not
one of them. Moussaoui is a convenient patsy for exceptionally corrupt
and abusive government.
The "President" signed a $355.4 billion defense bill into law October 23. Over a third of a trillion dollars, -- that's trillion with a "t". This, despite the fact military procurement fraud continues unabated. Has become unpatriotic to the Nazi element in the United States to question the theft, waste, and misappropriation of taxpayer funds. Credit cards, issued to military personnel, are used for personal purposes such as expenditures in brothels and topless clubs, computers, trips, jewelry, etc., as reported earlier in this publication and elsewhere.
The jackass occupying the White House crowed during signing ceremonies: "The bill says America is determined and resolute to not only defend our freedom but to defend freedom around the world, that we're determined and resolute to answer the call to history and that we will defeat terror." Nonsense, George. It demonstrates your commitment to theft, waste, and misappropriation. -- And lining the pockets of greedy, treasonous defense contractors.
Has absolutely nothing to do with "freedom", sir. You're already well on your way to eviscerating liberty with imposition of the glaringly unconstitutional "Patriot" Act and equally unconstitutional Executive Orders. Designed to impose a fascist police-state, not protect "national security" as falsely claimed by you and your fascist cronies.
No Nazi has any concept of liberty. Wouldn't know freedom if it bit them hard on the ass. Perversely, distort the concept to suit their evil agenda, -- an iron fist and death grip on the throat of the principle. Ole' George "The Tush" callously intends to kill innocent Iraqi civilians to "save" them. Like he did in Afghanistan. If Afghans are so supposedly grateful for their "liberation", Mr. "President", why haven't they fervently and quickly embraced our supposedly "democratic" principles and beliefs?
Think the rest of the world embraces your perverse ideas of "freedom" and its supposed defense internationally? If so, why have you received virtually no support, other than from Britain and Israel, of your murderous plans to kill hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians as was done earlier during the Gulf War? To "save" and "protect" them from the murderous thug ruling their country? A man they've shown absolutely no stomach to depose themselves? Freedom? How so, George?
After all, you intend to install a puppet government willing to dance to the tune of its masters in Washington. Right, Mr. "President"? ... In glaring self-serving effort to control Iraq's vast oil reserves for your greedy cronies in the energy industry. It's the money, stupid. Unadulterated insatiable greed and avarice. Not liberty. Not, what's in the best interests of Iraqi civilians. A chance for an American "President", no better than a street bully, to avenge his father's miserable failure twelve years earlier to fully prosecute the Gulf War.
Crowing further about the obscenity he had just signed into law, the "Chief Executive" declared: "Any time the United States of America sends our youngsters into harm's way they deserve the best pay, the best training and the best possible equipment. ... It doesn't matter how long it takes to defend freedom, we'll do it. ... We have a duty to future generations of Americans to make this land secure."
They're not getting the best pay, George. In fact, many are on food stamps. They don't get the best equipment. Often, it doesn't work properly. … While defense contractors continue to mercilessly loot taxpayers. Equipment, that had a miserable record of failure such as the Patriot missile. You have done nothing, Mr. "President", to "make this land secure." In fact, quite the opposite.
Your utterly pathetic failure to fully understand and
appreciate why radical Muslims are engaged in terrorism condemns the United
States and its allies to continued threat and attack. While you and
your financially portly friends in the corporate community continue to
line your pockets with outrageously wasteful military procurement laced
with fraud. As you laugh your callous asses off all the way to the
bank and give thanks on bended knee every Sunday to the Creator for your
great fortune.
That's right. The "President" and his henchmen are considering interfering with a $1 trillion lawsuit filed by 9/11 victims. Seems Saudi funds may have financed al Qaeda. Interesting, isn't it? Bush apparently intends to protect his "friends" in Saudi Arabia. May ask the court to dismiss the suit to "protect" U.S.-Saudi relations. Exceptionally, convenient, wouldn't you think?
The jackass occupying the White House is concerned with effects of the suit on the best interests of American energy companies. -- Cronies of the "President" who have handsomely lined his profoundly deep pockets for years. … When he was directly in the business, and now as a "politician." Fascinating, isn't it? Saudi officials have bitterly complained of the lawsuit to their American counterparts. Tough.
Readers should consider the savages the "President's"
considering protecting against legal action. The Saudis chop off
the hands of thieves. Behead adulterers. Killed a Saudi princess
in precisely that manner some time ago. Savages, who continue to
treat women as crap and chattel to be used any way they see fit.
Laughably, even jerked the "President's" chain early on in his efforts
to launch an immoral "preemptive" war against Iraq, -- by initially refusing
Americans permission to launch air strikes from airbases located on their
territory.
Appointed Texas Gov. Rick Perry, despite a comfortable lead in the polls, has resorted to outrageously false and deceptive campaign ads. The worst to date appeared October 25 and falsely linked his opponent's bank to the torture and execution of U.S. drug agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. Tony Sanchez is furious and pointedly commented the "Governor" must be desperate. Indeed.
Seems Ricky is unhappy about a Sanchez ad that shows videotape from a 2000 incident near Austin in which the "Governor" was videotaped berating and bullying a female police officer who had stopped his driver for speeding. Claims it unfairly shows his lack of respect for law enforcement. … Hey, "Governor"? Remove your head from your ass, sir. Aggressive stupidity is unbecoming. -- Even for an outrageous jackass appointed to office.
Precisely, what in hell do you consider the videotape
indicative of? Support for an officer only trying to do her job?
-- By inconveniently stopping one of your cronies breaking the law?
You're goddamned lucky he only received a warning ticket, rather than what
he apparently deserved. Your sorry ass should have been locked up
for interfering with the duties of a police officer. Wake up, Ricky.
Again, you've disgraced yourself, sir, and are an outrageous embarrassment
to the people of Texas.
Sadly, Senator Paul Wellstone from Minnesota died in a plane crash Friday, September 25. The late senator was one of the fieriest legislators in the Senate. Was the only senator in a close election fight to courageously vote against the "President's" exceptionally immoral blank check for waging a "preemptive" attack on Iraq.
Especially brave, in view of the fact anyone ferociously
opposing the bloodletting to come is considered unpatriotic by the exponentially
growing Nazi element in the United States. May certainly adversely
affect the fragile balance of power in the Senate, -- one vote. Should
the Nazi occupying the White House and his party regain the Senate, the
appointed "President" will have carte blanche to do as he pleases.
Free of pesky congressional restraint. Sieg Heil, Mein Fuhrer.
Remember the video of Inglewood, Ca. "Officer" Jeremy
Morse slamming the head of handcuffed 16-year-old Donovan Jackson onto
the trunk of his squad car? The son of a bitch was fired, effective
Oct. 14. Tough, isn't it? Criminal charges are still pending
against this exceptionally abusive bastard and his crony. Be interesting
to see how aggressively Morse fights the firing, no?
See the video of retired Gen. Chuck Yeager taking off for the last time in an F-15 Strike Eagle at an air show at Edwards Air Force Base? The 79-year-old legend piloted the high performance jet and arguably best dogfighter in the world to Mach 1.45, some one and a half times the speed of sound, -- to the delight of the crowd.
Reenacted a far more dangerous and uncertain similar feat back in 1947 when breaking the sound barrier for the first time in the X-1 rocket plane. Although commonplace today, many believed at the time, no one could survive. After hearing the crack of the sonic boom for the first time, some thought he hadn't made it, had died in the attempt.
No question, Mr. Yeager has "The Right Stuff." Some
sixty years of remarkable accomplishment and service to his country.
A poignant reminder of what this nation used to stand for. When the
United States was not a world bully. Did not preemptively strike
nations for political gain. Did not arrogantly assert it would bloodily
assault another country with no provocation, -- whether or not it receives
rubberstamp UN approval. Certainly indicative of an earlier time
when truth, justice, honor, and service profoundly meant something.

Luddite PACs & Candidates Hide $8 Million
In Political Funds From Electronic Disclosure
Austin, TX: In the first 18 months of the 2002 election
cycle, 168 state
candidates and 66 large PACs raised $7.8 million that
they failed to
disclose electronically. These "Luddite" candidates and
PACs dodged the
public interest in electronic disclosure by either flouting
Texas'
electronic-filing law or exploiting its gaping loopholes,
according to a
new Texans for Public Justice report.
"Texas politics is crawling with Luddites who need to
be dragged kicking
and screaming into the computer age," said Texans for
Public Justice
Director Craig McDonald. "Politicians who amass large
war chests should
not be able to accept contributions that they refuse
to disclose on the
Internet."
The Texas Legislature enacted a 1999 electronic-filing
law that requires
most state candidates and PACs to file campaign-finance
reports in a
computerized format that the Texas Ethics Commission
posts on the
Internet. This electronic-filing law contains two major
loopholes that
exempt candidates and PACs that claim that: 1. They do
not intend to
raise or spend more than $20,000 a year; or 2. Neither
they nor their
agents use computers to track campaign finances. The
new TPJ study
reveals 234 large PACs and major-party candidates that
failed to file one
or more electronic disclosure reports between January
2001 and July
2002.
Led by several Republican Party PACs, nine PACs and 12
candidates appear
to have dodged electronic filing without obtaining legally
required
exemptions. Although the plain language of the law does
not grant special
treatment to the PACs of political parties, the Texas
Ethics Commission
staff appears to have unofficially exempted certain party
PACs from the
electronic-disclosure requirement. Some of these PACs
raise hundreds of
thousands of dollars and take direct corporate contributions.
Major findings of the new report, Luddite PACs & Candidates,
include:
· The 168 major-party Luddite candidates included:
131 legislative
candidates (77 of whom survived the primaries); 20 judicial
candidates
(including 14 primary survivors); 15 Board of Education
candidates (nine
of whom survived their primary); and two statewide-office
candidates (who
lost their primaries).
· The Luddite Senate candidates shrouding the most
money from the
Internet are: Mario Gallegos (D-6), $80,618; Jon S. Lindsay
(R-7),
$23,400; and, Terry M. Smith (D-4), $18,733.
· Luddite House candidates who survived their primaries
and shrouded the
most money from the Internet are: Ruben Hope (R-16),
$115,390; W. Kenneth
Paxton (R-70), $113,360; Eugene Seaman (R-32), $94,866;
Joe Crabb
(R-127), $87,021; and Rene Oliveira (D-37), $75,635.
· The Luddite PACs that kept the most money off
the Internet are: the
Texas Republican Party ($968,993); Texas Consumer Finance
Association
($139,702); Harris Co. GOP-PAC ($137,500); Harris Co.
Republican Party
($114,066); and the Texas Tea PAC ($100,435).

All across America, people of all ages are seeking ways to express their support for those ideals and values on which our country was founded. What better way to accomplish this than for you and your family to attend a Veterans Day program held in your local community? During these uncertain times it can serve as an inspiration for children especially to learn of the importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices made by our brave veterans who fought and died so we may live in a free country.
To recognize and honor those courageous men and women who have served and are now serving in the armed services of the United States of America, Kingsland Memorial Post #437, The American Legion, will hold a Veterans Day program at its Post Home Monday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. To get to the Post from Kingsland, take Farm Road 2545 at highway 1431 (the Conoco Station across from Ace Hardware) and go east about two miles to Legion Loop.
Similar Post programs have been very well attended in
the past, so you are advised to get there early. All are invited and encouraged
to attend – particularly those with children of school age. As in the past,
an outstanding speaker is planned for the event and several local dignitaries
are expected to be on hand to commemorate the occasion. Refreshments will
be provided courtesy of the Auxiliary Unit.
Mr. Klee recently informed this writer he's once again considering running for the Llano Independent School District Board. Rightfully and tirelessly, has been highly critical of waste and corruption in the District for many years. While willing to do whatever is necessary regarding public appearances, writing of campaign literature, etc., he desperately needs financial backing and assistance with the "grunt" work.
Tasks, such as placement of signs, distribution of fliers, and similar legwork. Readers are reminded the Board is not paid. Pointedly, only get what they can steal or receive in bribes. -- While slapping the Good Ole'Boy occupying the Superintendent's office hard on the back, sharing in the wealth. Looted taxpayer money. Time for a breath of fresh air. Klee could and would do some good, rattling a few cages in an effort to force badly-needed change.
LISD is suffering severe financial distress due to years of neglect, greed, theft, misuse of taxpayer money, etc.. From launch of this publication until recently, has always been aggressively targeted on this website. No one would listen, however. Sadly, the chickens are finally coming home to roost. Tough, isn't it?
LISD Superintendent Jack Patton has a history of financial disaster and problems left behind in both Menard and Hereford. They were glad to get rid of him, according to a former board member and newspaper editor from both communities contacted by this writer about a year and a half ago. Has done no better here. This outrageous jackass has deliberately run the District into the ground.
If you support badly-needed change and a fresh point of
view on the Board, why not contact Mr. Klee at hklee@tstar.net?
Should the Superintendent and current Board continue unchallenged, expect
the tax burden to become far more severe. Sadly, these white-collar
thugs will never get enough, and will continue to mercilessly loot, picking
your pockets clean, until you courageously take action and put an end to
it. … Should you insist on remaining deafeningly and cowardly silent,
however, you get precisely what you richly deserve.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Apparently, quick exposure of earlier IP address
spoofing and illicit signing up of this publication
for unrequested "services" has not deterred you from
renewed spamming activity and additional squandering
of company time and good corporate image.
-- Stupidly, using the same spoofed Yahoo.Com server
IP address a second time to retaliate against ongoing
posting of extremely unflattering material on The
Ledger website, regarding outrageously poor Dell
support. Tough, isn't it?
Couldn't at least use a different spoofed IP address
to make things a little less boring? ... Be a bit
more creative, Mr. DeRosier.
Thought others at Dell needed to be aware of what is
going on, and took the liberty of sharing our ongoing
message exchange with them. Thanks for the additional
fodder.

Dear Mr. DeRosier,
Don't you think it a bit juvenile and in fact
aggressively stupid to use a Yahoo.Com server address
to spoof and illicitly sign this publication up for
unrequested "services"? ... To both email addresses
listed on the header of the last message sent on
Sunday? Think Mr. Dell would approve of such waste
of
company time and tactics? Think the U.S. Attorney
or
Yahoo would be as amused as this writer? Regardless,
thanks for the laugh and additional fodder for the
website. Am deeply grateful. ... Never a
dull
moment.

Dear Mr. DeRosier:
The following ignored snail-mailed letter to Mr. Dell
has been published in the last two editions of The
Llano Ledger. Readers are entitled to know precisely
how Mr. Notebook and Dell Computer do business.
Indeed, a public service. Will continue to be posted
weekly for months. -- Until I get tired of it.
At that time, a new webpage on The Ledger website will
be created. All correspondence between Mr. Notebook
as well as Dell "Support" and this writer will be
posted. -- Again, the readership has the right
to know
exactly how both companies operate. … Particularly,
how poor "support" is at both firms.
Should your attorneys decide to sue, by all means do
so. With an exceptionally corrupt and abusive court
system, Dell indeed would likely prevail. Regardless
of the truth. After all, your multi-billion dollar
corporation can easily financially impose its will.
Would be an empty victory for several reasons,
however.
First, would fully publicly demonstrate precisely how
abusive and repressive a powerful corporate entity can
be, -- ultimately costing market share. After all,
why buy Dell when you can purchase HP, -- a company
far more attentive to customer concerns and
complaints?
Second, would certainly publicly expose Dell "Support"
for being inept, unresponsive, and profoundly
obfuscating. Sadly, -- the number one problem in
the
view of product users. … Again, costing market
share.
Third, a suit would bring this publication additional
recognition nationally. With readership exponentially
expanding, can only further aid and assist, no?
Fourth, should Dell prevail, this publication has no
assets, -- other than the piece of trash this message
is typed on. Remember? The supposedly "factory
refurbished" Latitude Mr. Notebook fraudulently sold
as rebuilt?
Fifth, this writer has no assets. Certainly, "judgment
proof", so to speak. The truth regarding this entire
fiasco would come out in court for all to see,
regardless of whether or not Dell uses its
considerable assets to buy a favorable, self-serving
outcome.
So, should your legal beagles choose to file suit,
bring it on. … Hardball? You bet. Can
only wonder
how many others have had to put up with this same
crap, or worse. While they had no options, this
publication certainly does. Can indeed expose it
to
the light of day.
Bottom line, Mr. DeRosier, is the fact the office of
the CEO has not had the courtesy nor seen fit to
answer the enclosed letter, preferring to stonewall.
-- Or possibly never received the letter at all.
… Could have been conveniently intercepted by a crony
in the Dell mail department? After all, you knew
full
well it was coming. Nothing less than a response
from
the office of the CEO is acceptable.
If his office indeed received the correspondence, it
is glaringly indifferent to unresolved customer
complaints. Has apparently refused to right the
wrong
regardless of legal culpability or lack thereof.
Certainly, aggressively stupid since you've already
likely lost more in sales than it would have cost to
correct the problem. Corporate image is priceless,
isn't it, or has Dell Computer indeed grown too fat
and complacent to care? -- Or is this merely a
matter
of one Dell employee desperately trying to cover his
ass and/or that of his department?
Sincerely,
Tim Chorney, Publisher

Dear Mr. Dell:
A Dell factory refurbished Latitude was purchased from Mr. Notebook by [redacted] of [redacted] and donated to this non-profit publication about a year ago. Despite a nearly $900 expenditure, this machine has been a piece of trash since purchase. Support from Mr. Notebook was non-existent. Sadly, Dell Support was not much better.
Clearly, after a year's worth of problems, factory "refurbished" does not mean factory "rebuilt". Apparently, the hard disk, floppy, and CD drives were never replaced. -- The most likely sources of product failure. In addition, the supposedly replaced lithium-ion battery module has a design flaw. Although the machine has always been run on AC power and the battery maintained at 100% charge, intelligence circuitry in the module failed, rendering the battery worthless. -- Coincidentally occurred during the latest email foray with Dell Support regarding floppy disk failure. … Aren't I lucky? Incredibly blessed?
All that was requested from Dell Support this time around, however, was a pointer to diagnostics that would have pinpointed the problem with the floppy drive. … Not absolutely sure yet whether the failure lies only in the drive itself, or may also involve the socket and possibly bugs in drivers common to both the floppy and CD ROM drives. Sadly, the CD ROM has never worked flawlessly either and has had occasional problems of reliability. … At least, it's still working, however. Unlike the floppy.
While Dell Support indeed provided a pointer to diagnostics, the download ironically requires use of boot disk and floppy. Indeed, a problem of not being able to get from here to there. When pointed out to Support, received no further assistance, -- just an outrageous run around. … Despite assurances on the Dell website such email support supposedly exists for life of the product.
Mr. Dell, I can certainly understand you cannot be aware of all problems within a large corporation. You do, however, have unaddressed flaws with "refurbished" machines sold by disreputable vendors fraudulently and phonily invoking Dell corporate name, image, and prestige, and more importantly, horrendous problems with a totally unresponsive Dell Support division. No question, it is doing damage to corporate public image and reputation. Sadly, although your machines are extremely popular, the greatest problem I've heard from users is lack of support. Can certainly attest to that from personal experience.
Support outrageously refused to provide an email address for your office, -- unlike HP and other corporations more responsive to unresolved customer problems and complaints. … An email address would have certainly provided an easy practical way of sending the entire email exchange over the last year. Would have sorely indicated glaring obfuscation, non-responsiveness, and interminable intentional delay. Hard to believe you're unaware. Than again, Dell Corporation could apparently care less.
Mr. Notebook sold the Latitude as a Dell factory refurbished machine, supposedly tested by Dell-trained technicians, clearly so indicated on the bottom of the computer. Again, the floppy, CD, and hard drives apparently were never replaced. The most likely components to fail. Since factory refurbished clearly does not mean factory rebuilt, the computer is no more than a used machine. … A machine that could have been bought for half the price at a resale shop. Even less if purchased privately. With the price of new notebooks precipitously dropping recently to the $900 range and technically capable of running circles around this dinosaur, assuredly have no intention of dumping additional money into this piece of trash.
Mr. Notebook, on the day of purchase, claimed this machine to be factory refurbished. Repeatedly made the claim. Clearly, it was not. Mr. Notebook quickly washed its hands of this lemon, failing to answer follow-up correspondence from this publication regarding product failure shortly after purchase. Have no intention of wasting additional time and effort haggling further with Mr. Notebook, -- other than to publish an investigative article exposing this entire fiasco. After all, the public is entitled to know exactly how business was done.
Due to several serious problems never corrected by Dell or Mr. Notebook since purchase of this falsely alleged Dell factory refurbished product, however, can honestly say at this point I would never again purchase a Dell computer, -- new, used, or "factory refurbished". From anyone. Certainly would never encourage others to purchase Dell either. Indeed, why take the risk and put up with the hassle?
Regardless of whether or not Dell Corporation is technically or legally responsible for fraudulent claims made by a vendor of Dell machines, the damage done to corporate image is indeed severe nonetheless. The lack of competent support and assistance from Dell Corporation in the matter is stunning. Certainly, costly in terms of good faith and product loyalty lost. Regardless of legal responsibility.
Have enclosed the last few emails from Support upper management refusing to provide an email address for your office and highly indicative and glaringly demonstrative of ongoing obfuscation over the last year. Little more than canned, computer-generated messages containing phony platitudes and false concern designed to obfuscate and stonewall rather than provide technical assistance or resolution. Apparently, the problem is top-down, since tone and substance of upper management Support is no different than that of lower level techs. Although unquestionably a public service, have held off publishing an investigative article until I hear from your office.
Sincerely,
Tim Chorney, Publisher

A letter To Burnet County Sheriff Joe Pollock has been posted recently. Access it by clicking here.
As promised, the letter of complaint sent to Burnet County
Judge Martin McLean, regarding fraudulent Ledger Maxpages and Stormpages
site deletions originating from the Burnet County Library System and resulting
in the ejection of this writer from library computers, has finally been
posted. Readers are reminded this is not the end of the matter.
Just the beginning. For ongoing coverage of the criminal attacks
as well as the letter to the Judge sent in response, click here.
Be sure to click on Klee's
Kaleidoscope for Harvey Klee's latest edition. This publication
is a forum for a diversity of viewpoints. All are encouraged to submit
material.
A rare commodity, honest businesses need a plug.
Although this publication receives no financial remuneration or funding
of any kind from Mike's Transmission, this writer has personally known
the owner of this new business quite some time and has enormous respect
for his integrity. Mike has had years of experience working on transmissions,
-- foreign and domestic, standard and automatic. This guy has heart
and takes enormous pride in his work. Give him a call at 915-423-1694.
The business is in the process of being launched. If you like the
quality of service, let me know. Better yet, ask him to send a donation
to the Ledger.
As strongly asserted in the last 78 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.
Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.
Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?
Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.
If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
