Habeas Corpus

Defense attorney Greg Stambaugh argued in closed court Aug. 23 James Ujaama's constitutional rights have been egregiously violated.  Although short in comparison to others, Ujaama has been jailed for more than a month with no charges filed.  Is held as a material witness.  Our fascist government claims it has the right to hold him indefinitely because he has information.  Fascinating, isn't it?  Imprisoned for what he knows.  For as long as government goons deem proper.

Nazi U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee refused to open the proceeding, ruling against attorneys for several news organizations who unsuccessfully argued the constitutional questions should be publicly aired.  Amazing, no?  The "Judge" is disingenuously and falsely concerned it would disrupt the grand jury process.  Tough, isn't it?  Government goons prevail. The Bill of Rights comes second.  The Nazi on the bench placed the best interest of corrupt and abusive prosecutors before the liberty of an innocent man.  Ruled Ujaama would remain in jail until he finally rules, up to an additional sixty days.  In Nazi America.

Know what?  Ujaama ought to courageously tell the "Justice" Department to go to hell.  Exercise his constitutional right to remain silent, -- even if falsely granted immunity.  Whatever he says would be used against him, regardless.  Always is.  Corrupt and abusive prosecutors are remarkably skilled in finding a way.  Exceptionally gifted in distortion of reality and deception.  Why should he help this Nazi government ultimately screw him?  Rot in jail for however long it takes.  Let his attorney and news organizations do whatever they can to release as much information regarding related government stormtrooper tactics as possible in the meantime.

ALL the circumstances surrounding his false imprisonment.  As much information as possible.  Publicly identifying every government thug involved.   Sticking it has hard as they can to the Nazis presiding over the White House and "Justice" Department.  Indeed, sunlight is what fascists fear most.  Time to supply as much as possible.  News organizations are rightfully considering an appeal of the "Judge's" refusal to open the hearing.  Get a move on.  Government's been hijacked.  Civil and constitutional rights and liberties dangerously imperiled and on life support.  Falsely, disingenuously, phonily, in the name of "national security" and the war on terror.

Already, government goons must not be terribly happy with defense counsel.  -- Stambaugh released his client's name to the press and confirmed he was indeed present at the kangaroo hearing before Lee.  Tough, isn't it?  Also the length of time Ujaama has been jailed.  Our Nazi government cowardly and conveniently refused to confirm Ujaama's identity and the fact he will be brought in front of a grand jury.  … Must have brought a "smile to the pile" of Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

It is critical Ujaama fully understand anything he says to a grand jury will be severely distorted and twisted, -- ultimately used by corrupt and abusive prosecutors against him.  Day becomes night.  Night becomes day.  The only time Nazi prosecutors back off is when higher-ups feel severely threatened of being held accountable.  -- As they were in the case of Oliver North.  Readers will recall the former army colonel got off the hook.  ... No way in hell he would have conveniently fallen on the sword and spared Ronald Reagan and George H. Bush criminal prosecution for their involvement in Iran-Contra.  Sadly, the enemy is no longer just the terrorist element.  Liberty, civil, and constitutional rights are for more threatened by the jackass appointed "President" by a fascist Supreme Court.

Ashcroft Loses

Remember Rabih Haddad and the Global Relief Foundation fiasco, covered in earlier editions of this publication?  Readers will recall the Treasury Department froze Foundation bank accounts and raided its offices Dec. 14.  The Bush "Administration" falsely claims it has ties to terrorism.  Clearly, the "Justice" Department has no evidence.  -- Has not criminally charged Haddad or the Foundation.  Imagine that.

Has, however, unlawfully and unconstitutionally jailed Mr. Haddad on an alleged visa violation since the raid.  Convenient, no?  Also tried to deport his wife and three kids.  Government goons desperately attempted to have the matter quietly disposed of in a secret deportation hearing.  Not to be.  Thankfully, not.  Indeed, the contrary.  Nothing quite like brilliant, deafening sunshine.

U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft got his ass severely kicked in court August 26.  The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals opened fire all guns blazing: "A government operating in the shadow of secrecy stands in complete opposition to the society envisioned by the framers of our Constitution."  That's right, Judge.  About time someone in the judiciary finally had the guts.

Without dissent, Circuit Judge Damon A. Keith further declared:  "Democracies die behind closed doors. When the government begins closing doors it selectively controls information rightfully belonging to the people. Selective information is misinformation...Without question, the events of September 11, 2001, left an indelible mark on our nation, but we as a people are united in the wake of the destruction to demonstrate to the world that we are a country deeply committed to preserving the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our democracy…Today, we reflect our commitment to those democratic values by ensuring that our government is held accountable to the people and that First Amendment rights are not impermissibly compromised. Open proceedings, with a vigorous and scrutinizing press, serve to ensure the durability of our democracy."

The Nazi at the helm of the "Justice" Department is not a happy camper.  His spokeswoman, Barbara Comstock, opined: "The Justice Department has an obligation to exercise all available options to disrupt and prevent terrorism within the bounds of the Constitution, and will review today's opinion in light of our duty to protect the American people."  Ms. Comstock lied, at the very least severely distorted reality.  First, the appeals court ruled such secret court proceedings unconstitutional.  In fact, severely reprimanded DOJ for NOT remaining "within the bounds of the Constitution" as falsely claimed by Comstock.

Second, the "President" and Attorney General are not concerned with protection of the citizenry.  Not in the least.  If they truly were, they would never have eviscerated the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eight Amendments.  -- Treasonously, traitorously, cowardly ceding to the enemy, what never could have ever been lost on the battlefield.  The "Administration" could care less about human suffering.  No Nazi does.  Bush and Ashcroft have one agenda, -- imposition of fascism.  Secret court proceedings are only one convenient facet of the attack on civil liberties and rights.

Reportedly, Haddad is refusing to cooperate with government goons desperately trying to screw him. Good for him.  Precisely, the right thing to do.  Has also apparently refused to testify in front of a grand jury, invoking Fifth Amendment privilege.  Why should he testify?  Prosecutors would twist and distort anything he says and unjustly use it against him. Bastards in government couldn't care less whether or not he's innocent or guilty. As long as they nail him, anyone.  -- And divert attention from the fascist appointed "President" and his Nazi Attorney General.

Working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion. ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

Fascist Police-State Established In Wilmington, Delaware

That's right.  The Wilmington, Del. Police Department is constructing a database of innocent people for use in investigations of future crimes.  No joke.  Includes forced photographs, names, and addresses of innocent citizens.  People stopped without probable cause.  Forced by Nazi goons to have their pictures taken and names and addresses recorded.  More than two hundred so far.  Mostly minorities.

Two police squads were formed.  -- "Jump-out squads".  Law enforcement thugs quickly exit vehicles, get law-abiding citizens up against a wall, frisk, and question them.  Then force a picture.  Subsequently, victims are allowed to go their way.  Generous, no?  Police goons justify such glaringly Gestapo tactics with a 1968 Terry v. Ohio U.S. Supreme Court decision.  -- Certainly, strongly indicative of how severely this Nazi high court has eviscerated and bastardized the Bill of Rights.

Mayor James Baker is highly supportive of such fascist tactics, dismissing any criticism as "asinine and intellectually bankrupt."  Clearly, Mr. Baker has absolutely no regard for civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  What fascist does?  Demonstrative of exquisitely honed Aryan arrogance and in the best traditions of Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini, the Mayor declared:  "I don't care what anyone but a court of law thinks.  Until a court says otherwise, if I say it's constitutional, it's constitutional."

Is that right, Jimmy Boy?  Sieg Heil, Mein Fuhrer.  Head so far up your ass circulation to the brain's cut off?  The Mayor's views are un-American.  Treasonous.  Traitorous.  Certainly run counter to everything this once great country used to stand for.  Apparently, the glaringly fascist Mayor and Nazis in the police department desperately seek to incite armed revolution.  Certainly, paving the way.  Should such Nazi tactics increase, spread nationwide, and become even more repressive, revolution will not only be a possibility, but indeed reality.  Sadly, the people will have no choice.

For you unabashed fascists out there unapologetic and highly supportive of such Gestapo police tactics, no problem, right?  If you're not guilty, you have nothing to fear, correct?  Government never trumps up charges, does it?  Privacy?  What for?  Fourth Amendment?  What's that?  Right to be left the hell alone?  Why?  After all to National Socialists, the "good" of society comes before individual rights, doesn't it?  Liberty?  Say what?  A nebulous troublesome technicality reserved for the state to dictate and dispense.  ... A collective "freedom" at the pleasure of government.  The right to do what you're told. Heil Hitler.

Judicial Oath Of Office

Nazi U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema has egregiously violated her oath of office denying criminal defendant, Zacarias Moussaoui, access to "classified" evidence against him, outrageously claiming national security "outweighs the defendant's desire" to view prosecution evidence.  … Hey, "Judge"?  What part of the Sixth Amendment don't you understand?

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

If "national security" is indeed the reason this man is being denied constitutionally guaranteed access to evidence against him, it is your duty to drop all charges and free him.  Can't have it both ways, "Your Honor".  It is kangaroo justice to deny a defendant access to evidence and then execute the bastard after he's conveniently found guilty with no opportunity to defend himself against secret "evidence".  No matter whether he has an attorney, -- or is serving as his own.  Wake up, you jackass.

Worse, why have you denied him counsel of his choosing?  Nowhere in the Sixth Amendment does it grant you power to override his choice.  No where does it declare counsel must be state-approved and a licensed attorney.  The U.S. Constitution supersedes all state and federal statutes and is indeed the supreme law of the land.  State and federal laws designed to force forfeiture of constitutional rights such as access to evidence and counsel of choice are outrageously unconstitutional.

If indeed incompetent to represent himself, why do you continue the outrageous charade?  Can't have it both ways on this issue either, "Judge".  Regardless of incompetence or mental state, as a criminal defendant, he IS entitled to see all evidence against him.  Otherwise, he's egregiously and unconstitutionally denied the right and opportunity to vigorously defend himself against all charges.

To limit access of evidence only to a licensed attorney and not the defendant himself denies the defendant ability and opportunity to judge significance of secret evidence and effectively and fully inform counsel of its merits or lack thereof.  Crippling any chance of adequate defense.  Precisely what Nazi prosecutors and a fascist "judge" desperately want.  How else can they convict and execute this sick son of a bitch?

They have no case.  Even insiders in the "Justice" Department have serious reservations regarding his involvement in 9/11.  Didn't stop the Nazi leading this fascist organization from attempting to get his pound of flesh, conveniently placating a cowardly public desperate for a scapegoat in the process.  Someone to kill.  Truly doesn't matter to the "President" or Nazi Attorney General whether or not Moussaoui is guilty or innocent.  As long as they nail him, anyone.  -- And conveniently draw attention away from their own culpability, i.e. failure to prevent the attack and/or remedy circumstances and national policies directly responsible for the catastrophe.

A tactic used by tyrants throughout history to conveniently dispose of enemies.  One of the reasons why the American Revolution was fought.  Precisely why history should repeat itself if the "judge's" fascist unconstitutional ruling is upheld and this man is murdered by the state.  This country used to be better than that.  No more.  Now, it has cowardly embraced tactics horrendously used in Nazi Germany and the former Soviet Union.  Sadly, treasonous traitorous "jurists" such as Brinkema are leading the charge.

While Moussaoui is indeed incompetent to represent himself or even stand trial, the "judge" and Nazi "prosecutors" are even worse, -- outrageously and perversely evil in their self-serving insistence a baseless kangaroo trial proceed in the interest of political expediency.  Deliberately enabling a fascist, appointed "President" and his Nazi Attorney General to further consolidate power and impose their fascist agenda on an aggressively stupid public.

Working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion. ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

Separation Of Powers

In an attempt to further consolidate power, the fascist occupying the Oval Office has ordered FBI goons to pressure senators in a probe of security leaks.  Tough, isn't it.  The pressure is unconstitutional and exceeds "Presidential" authority.  Won't stop Ole' George "The Tush", however.  The stakes are too high.  Separation of powers mean nothing to a fascist hell-bent on securing autocratic power.

Mr. Bush is annoyed one or more senators released information highly unflattering regarding what he may have known before 9/11.  -- Leading to serious and embarrassing questions as to whether he could indeed have acted to prevent the catastrophe.

The party or parties responsible for the leak should be commended, not condemned or prosecuted.  They did a public service.  Their patriotic duty.  The people had a right to know.  Certainly have been denied that right by an "Administration" hell-bent on absolute secrecy.  Intimidated, senators involved are gutless and cooperating with FBI goons.  Cowardly providing agents with the names of reporters they've spoken to.  Can only hope media people courageously and properly tell these thugs to go to hell should they be pressured.  An outrageous abuse of power.  -- The investigated Executive Branch of government abusively "investigating" the investigator, successfully turning the tables.  Hitler would have loved it.

An independent panel should carefully examine the material and determine if indeed most of it should have been secret at all.  The "President" is conveniently covering his ass and pulling the wool over the eyes of an aggressively stupid population that has its head cowardly lodged up a bodily orifice seldom seeing the light of day.  -- Conveniently invoking the phony mantra of "national security" during the war on terror when in reality it is no more than a calculated effort to impose a fascist police-state and cover-up an egregious failure to act on intelligence prior to the September 11 catastrophe.

Working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion. ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

Texas Attorney General John Cornyn

Readers are aware Texas AG John Cornyn is running against Ron Kirk for U.S. Senator.  Cornyn apparently is having problems in the polls and has resorted to increasingly dirty and highly distorted campaign ads.  Clearly realizes Kirk is a threat and could very well become Texas' first black senator.  Those of you reading this publication for some time know Cornyn has been mercilessly skewered for outrageous failure to enforce the Public Information Act, letting local white collar criminals in Llano County government, LISD, and LMHS ignore the Act with impunity.  Open government in Texas is a joke.  Does NOT exist.

While this patrician fascist thinks he's due the Senate seat by divine right, he's done virtually nothing for the State of Texas other than cater to special interests, -- conveniently looking the other way regarding the people's right to know and enabling egregious evisceration of civil and constitutional rights and liberties.  Three years ago, he cowardly ignored a drug sweep atrocity resulting in the arrest of some 12% of the black population in Tulia.  Forty-three blacks were locked up and convicted on phony drug charges.  The only evidence government goons had in nearly every case was testimony of one undercover agent.  Tom Coleman, -- with NO corroboration such as wiretaps, records, or any other evidence.  Nothing.  Just his word.  That of a g-ddamned liar and petty thief.

That's right.  Coleman's record was far from pristine.  Had a misdemeanor charge of gasoline theft.  -- From a county pump.  His innocent victims are still incarcerated on sentences up to 320 years.  For crimes they did not commit.  Cornyn has finally launched an investigation.  -- Dragged kicking and screaming apparently due to political considerations and the coming election.  Where've you been Johnny?  Head so far up your ass ring around the collar has become a problem?  Voters ought to send this outrageous excuse for the state's chief law enforcement officer and his henchmen a message they'll never forget in November.

"For The Children"

Remember withering criticism directed at the Clintons for justifying anything terribly unpopular by claiming "It's for the children."  Recall how livid fascists became?  Well, things have a way of turning full circle.  Now, the "President" justifies pending invasion of Iraq and prosecution of the war on terrorism declaring: "We owe it to our children that we keep going on."  Is that right, George?  … For the children, huh?

... An invasion of Iraq, despite the fact such unprovoked action would cause Saddam to do precisely what "Administration" officials supposedly fear most, -- use weapons of mass destruction.  Readers are reminded he did not do so during the Gulf War.  Why?  He knew he would have suffered immediate nuclear obliteration.  Should Iraq be invaded, all bets are off.  The dictator would be dead either way.  Would most certainly use ALL weapons, having nothing to lose.  Clearly, the "President" of the United States wants him to do so to justify, after the fact, an unprovoked invasion.  Readers are reminded the only reason Saddam used weapons earlier against his own people and reportedly against Iranians as well is because he could do so without retaliation.  Certainly, not the case with Israel and the United States fully capable of obliterating the bastard.

"Vice President" "Slick Dick" Cheney, however, continued to loudly and masterfully beat war drums in speeches before veterans groups last week.  Echoing the "Commander In Chief".  White House Counsel Alberto Gonzalez declared the jackass occupying the White House has the right to launch a war without congressional action.  Apparently, the legal beagle has never read the U.S. Constitution, -- or has his head so far up his ass circulation to the brain has been cut off.  ... Pull it out, Al.  Certainly, explains his extraordinarily poor performance as a Texas Supreme Court "Justice" and strong support of fascist Bush judicial nominee and former colleague, Priscilla Owen.

As Mr. Bush wraps up a month-long vacation while on the taxpayer teat, the "President" continued to spend time productively raising money for the GOP.  In fact, this appointed jackass may be the most prolific fund-raiser in history, outclassing his predecessor.  Raked in some $105 million so far, leaving Bill in the dust for the same period in his presidency.  While Ole' George "The Tush" claims to be feverishly working on the war on terrorism, hasn't been too busy to attend 50 fundraisers as of Aug. 29.   … Not finished either.

Moonlighting Supreme Court "Justices"

Any idea what "justices" enthroned on the Supreme Court get paid?  Think they're paupers?  Chief "Justice" Rehnquist draws $192,600.  The other eight receive $184,400.  -- Not bad for a golden opportunity to legislate fascism from the bench through imposition of perversely immoral "religious" beliefs on others in convoluted rulings.  Readers are reminded these exquisitely regal men and women "vacation" several months from June through October.  Why?  Why shouldn't their jobs be full time?

In fact, many take highly lucrative university summer teaching junkets overseas while on the government teat.  Convenient, isn't it?  How many innocent people on death row, at any time of the year, have been denied proper consideration and legally murdered by government when the high court Aryan arrogantly refuses to take a case regardless of its merits, -- supposedly having better things to do?  Seems "Justices" ought to limit their professional activities to the business at hand, -- the United States Supreme Court.  Then again, they don't have to, do they?  Indeed, fascists do whatever they want.  Whenever they want.  With impunity.  Justice?  What the hell's that?

Florida Governor Continues To Defend Regier

Gov. Jeb Bush relentlessly champions the fascist good ole' boy he nominated to head Florida's child welfare agency, Jerry Regier: "It really doesn't matter if Jerry has a deep and abiding faith and it certainly doesn't disqualify him for public service.  I think there's bigotry here and it troubles me."  Sadly, the cowardly fascist element quickly cries bigotry when imposition of their sickly perverse views on others is strongly challenged.

… While conveniently ignoring profound personal closet bigotry viciously directed against gays and blacks, -- and anyone courageous enough to challenge imposition of their glaringly fascist agenda.  Tough, isn't it?  Hypocritical as well.  Nothing quite like "Christian" charity, love, and bigotry.  Profoundly, exquisite.

… Hey, Jeb?  Wake up.  Regier's perverse "religious" views are not the problem.  The fascist is entitled to think and believe as he damn well pleases.  Rather, it's imposition of these views on others, particularly children in his care, that is so overwhelmingly important and of enormous concern.  A severe problem.  There is no way in hell a man embracing physical assault of children as a form of "discipline" is qualified to head a child welfare agency.  … Or the State of Florida.  Not even dog catcher.  -- Couldn't be trusted not to beat the crap out of strays, perversely demonstrating profoundly sick "Christian" "love" of animals.

Out To Lunch

On September 11, the military was so unprepared for attack, there were insufficient fighter jets ready for combat after the catastrophe.  Air Force Col. Robert K. Marr Jr., Commander Northeast Air Defense Sector, had four armed fighters at his disposal.  His sector extended from Minnesota to Maine to Virginia.  That's right, four jets.  Stunning, isn't it?

Doomed Flight 93 was on its way to Washington as commanders diverted two unarmed F-16 fighters on a training mission near Detroit.  Both pilots had no weapons.  Their orders were to intercept, get as close to the cockpit as possible, and convince the hijacked aircraft to land.  ... Again, unarmed.  Both fighters would have been ordered to ram the aircraft if it did not comply.  Did not reach the intercept, however, before heroic passengers stormed the cockpit of the doomed aircraft forcing it down.

Imagine having to order an unarmed fighter pilot on such a mission?  No question there isn't one who wouldn't have obeyed, committing suicide if ordered.  Quite likely ALL would have "volunteered" if asked.  What then is so terribly wrong with this picture?  Incredibly perverse?

How could the United States military, with an annual budget in excess of $300 billion, -- that's billion with a "b", not have fully armed combat ready aircraft prepared to scramble on a moment's notice?  How could the Defense Department be caught so badly with its pants down?  Officials both in the military and White House would have been directly responsible for the tragic and needless loss.

-- What would have amounted to "murder" of the pilot should any have had to ram a hijacked jet to courageously and valiantly defend the United States.  An inexcusable betrayal of our best and brightest.  When in hell will the aggressively stupid American public finally demand stringent financial accountability in the Defense Department and proper expenditure of funds?

The Colonel was cavalier in his remarks regarding suicidal missions:  "An airman asked to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of his country is no more or less than the soldier asked to storm the beaches at Normandy."  Not quite, sir.  Utterly horrendous as these unspeakably bloody beaches were, at least those incredibly courageous men were armed.  Had those two unarmed F-16s arrived in time and been ordered to ram the hijacked airliner, however, might have indeed perversely been a blessing for both exceptionally heroic pilots to have not had weapons .  -- At least they wouldn't have had to live with having to kill scores of already doomed innocent Americans to spare Washington a far greater loss of life.  ... No greater love.

GOP’s High Court Candidates Out-Raise Democrats 3:1

Supreme Court Races Raised $4.7 Million By July

Austin, TX: By July 2002, the 10 major party Texas Supreme Court candidates who survived the March primaries already raised a total of $2,982,684 in the 2002 election cycle, a new Texans for Public Justice study reports. The Republican primary weeded out four other candidates who raised an additional $1.7 million--including incumbent Justice Xavier Rodriguez.

“Despite Chief Justice Phillips’ pledge to reject new campaign contributions for his reelection bid, candidates for other court seats are raking in special-interest money as usual,” said Texans for Public Justice director Craig McDonald. “The candidates names have changed, but their sponsors remain the same. Law firms and the so-called ‘tort reformers’ continue to be the top high-court donors.”

Key findings of “Vote of No Confidence: The 2002 Texas Supreme Court Election” include:

*  Of the 10 major-party candidates still in the running for five available Supreme Court seats, the GOP candidates out-raised ($2,198,130) their Democratic opponents ($783,754) 3:1. Judge Margaret Mirabal, who raised $315,332, was the only Democrat to out-raise a GOP opponent (Steve Smith raised $5,500).

* Justice Wallace Jefferson, the sole incumbent justice still raising money for November, is the top fundraiser, having raised $908,458 so far. Wallace raised five times as much money as his primary and general election opponents combined.

*  An additional $1,720,363 was raised by four failed primary candidates, including incumbent Justice Xavier Rodriguez, who raised $708,048 but was defeated by Steve Smith’s frugal campaign.

*  Eight of the top-10 law-firm donors  were corporate defense firms and two were plaintiff firms. Vinson & Elkins again lead the pack, giving these judicial candidates a total of $124,305.

*  Nine of the top-10 non-law donors represent business interests, led by the business tort group Texans for Lawsuit Reform ($55,056).

*  In an unusual step, a Republican PAC made the top-10 list by picking sides in a GOP primary (giving $25,000 apiece to the campaigns of incumbent Justices Xavier Rodriguez and Wallace Jefferson).

Several high court candidates failed to comply with Texas’ judicial campaign disclosure laws. Candidates William Moody, Jesse Wainwright and Linda Yanez reported that their campaigns had zero cash-on-hand when their earlier reports suggested that they each had between $17,504 and $314,618 on hand. Candidate James Parson’s latest disclosure report reported legally required employer and occupation information for just one of his donors.

Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department
P.O. Box 825
Buchanan Dam, TX 78609

Dear Fire Department Supporter,

Generous support of your Fire Department assures that we are there when you need us with the right equipment and training.  We all think of our Fire Department when we think of fire, but your Department is also equipped to provide emergency support in other areas ranging from responding to hazardous material spills to removal of the injured in auto accidents.  A recent training exercise used the 'jaws of life' to provide entry to a severely damaged vehicle.

Your Fire Department is currently staffed by 14 volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  These members have jobs, family lives, social and civic responsibilities, and yet they manage to quickly respond to calls for aid regardless of time, day or night.  Your Firefighters need safe and effective equipment and training to continue to meet the expanding needs of our community.  Community population has increased by more than 54% between 1990 and 2000, and by another 16% between 2000 and 2002.

Through your support, and grant funding from LCRA, we have replaced our 1967 Pumper Truck with a much more capable 1987 Pierce Pumper.  We have also modified two surplus military vehicles to maintain and expand our brush truck inventory.  While we have upgraded our main Tanker in the last few years, our smaller 1969 Tanker is not reliable and requires replacement.

Our current planning includes replacing the old tanker, upgrading and expanding our breathing apparatus (for use in structure firefighting), and the addition of defibrillator capability.  Once again, we are requesting your assistance in meeting the needs of your Fire Department.  As always, we appreciate your contributions!

JUST THINK!  What if you had a fire and no one came?  We also have need of a few good people who are willing to help out their community.  We meet the first & third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 PM at the Fire Barn on Hwy 261.

FIRE DEPARTMENT BUILDING BURGLARIZED

Sometime between 10 PM Tuesday night, 5/21/02 and Thursday, 2 PM, 5/23/02 the fire station was broken into and over $4000 of equipment was taken.  If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Buchanan Fire Department, 793-9085 or contact the Sheriff's office in Llano.

Fraudulent Deletion Of Ledger Websites

A letter To Burnet County Sheriff Joe Pollock has been posted recently.  Access it by clicking here.

As promised, the letter of complaint sent to Burnet County Judge Martin McLean, regarding fraudulent Ledger Maxpages and Stormpages site deletions originating from the Burnet County Library System and resulting in the ejection of this writer from library computers, has finally been posted.  Readers are reminded this is not the end of the matter.  Just the beginning.  For ongoing coverage of the criminal attacks as well as the letter to the Judge sent in response, click here.

An Honest Business

A rare commodity, honest businesses need a plug.  Although this publication receives no financial remuneration or funding of any kind from Mike's Transmission, this writer has personally known the owner of this new business quite some time and has enormous respect for his integrity.  Mike has had years of experience working on transmissions, -- foreign and domestic, standard and automatic.  This guy has heart and takes enormous pride in his work.  Give him a call at 915-423-1694.  The business is in the process of being launched.  If you like the quality of service, let me know.  Better yet, ask him to send a donation to the Ledger.

Unbridled Fear

As strongly asserted in the last 70 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.

Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.

Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?

Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.

If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
