Early Warnings Ignored

Interestingly, on Feb. 18 ABC News published an article on its website describing a series of missed opportunities and warnings that could possibly have prevented the September 11 catastrophe.  Duh.  What took 'em so long.  As early as 1994, the military was presented with a report detailing the vulnerability of the White House and Pentagon to airborne assault.  Sadly, nothing came of it.  Nobody took any action.

Reportedly, terrorism expert Marvin Cetron was even ordered to leave it out of the final draft.  Worse yet, the report itself was never made public.  Some four years later, when U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by terrorists additional reports were made and ignored.  … Nothing quite like getting caught with your pants down, no? -- Then covering your ass when thousands of innocent Americans died last September.  Sadly, as American as mom and apple pie.

Farrakhan

Once in awhile Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan gets it right.  During a recent speech in California, he strongly asserted the war on terrorism could enflame hatred of the U.S. throughout Islam.  Sadly, already has.  Why should Moslem countries trust the United States anyway when we supply F-16s and Apache attack helicopters to a nation that wantonly kills Palestinians in an eight or nine kill ratio to Israelis?  The lack of an even hand in the Middle East assures the war on terror will go on indefinitely.  … Precisely what the "President" desperately wants.  It conveniently keeps public focus off the worsening economic crisis and the "Chief Executive's" egregious domestic policy failures.

State Consumer Privacy Laws Under Attack

Banks have been quite unhappy campers with imposition of consumer privacy laws.  Most unhappy.  After all, made it somewhat harder for these greedy predators to sell private customer financial data.  Tough, isn't it?  Sensing a convenient opportunity to jump on the "terrorism" bandwagon, however, now they're loudly whining these laws will prevent them from spotting "terrorists".   Readers are reminded federal unconstitutional legislation signed by the jackass occupying the White House and his predecessors effectively made bankers part of the law enforcement community.  Outrageously, no one can move even relatively modest sums of cash without such transactions being reported to federal goons.

Greedy bankers couldn't care less about national security or anything or anyone else for that matter, -- other than their rotund portly asses.  They're salivating at the chance to sell your financial data.  Republican North Dakota state Rep. Jim Kasper put it exactly right:   "What they ultimately want is the full use of the financial information of their customers for marketing purposes. This is about money."  Yes, Mr. Kasper, it certainly is.  Thanks for standing up and calling it exactly what it is.  Sadly, the banks will ultimately get what they want, however.  After all, they have a friend in the White House.  … A dolt who couldn't care less about privacy or any other rights.  -- Only further consolidation of power and imposition of a fascist police state.  … Right, George?

Faith-Based Program Violates Rules

Indeed, Ole' George must have his shorts tied up in a knot.  A $14 million project that is supposed to be a showpiece for the "President's" faith-based initiative has broken HUD rules and its promises.  Who'd a "thunk" it, no?  Couldn't happen, could it?  "Christians" don't break rules, do they?  Certainly not ethically-challenged.  No.  Never.

Seems District-based Church Association for Community Service wrongfully hired a for-profit business to do work it is required to do itself,   -- oversee renovation and sale of the homes.  Interesting, isn't it?  HUD quickly backed off the project after the Washington Post poked into it.

Sadly, it took media to force the issue.  Pointedly, why hadn't this federal bureaucracy exercised better control before the press got wind of it?  Couldn't be they were conveniently looking aside at the behest of the "Administration", could it?  Never happen.  Right?

Housing Eviction Law

Federal agencies seem remarkably inept at doing what's right and fair regarding subsidized housing.  The Supreme Court has accepted a case challenging federal statutes calling for the eviction of elderly tenants unaware of family members' illicit drug use.  Imagine getting the boot for not knowing a relative was smoking a joint?  Only happen in Nazi Germany?  Think again.  We're already living in a fascist police state where day is night, night is day, and manure smells sweet.  Sieg Heil.

The Patriot Act

This unconstitutional, un-American, un-patriotic statute signed by the "President" continues to show its true colors.   The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments are no more.  Habeas corpus?  Non-existent.

A federal judge is considering whether FBI goons threatened and abused Jordanian student Osama Awadallah.  Not a problem, right?  After all, he's a foreigner and has no rights according to the dolt occupying the White House.

Anser Mehmood has been held on no charges at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since October 3.  Why?  The government wishes to further "investigate" him.  His wife is returning to Pakistan after eight years here trying to make a new life.  … "Compassionate" "conservatism"?  What's that, George?

Meanwhile, Mr. Bush intends to topple Saddam, -- unilaterally if necessary and with no declaration of war.  Again, the Constitution is whatever Ole' George and his fascist henchmen intend it to be.  Working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion.  ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

Sadly, this fascist is asserting the United States may launch pre-emptive strikes against countries we're not yet at war with.  Frightening, isn't it?  Apparently, Mr. Bush contends his power is unlimited.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers

An innocuous term, no?  Not quite.  "Religious" bigots desperate to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her uterus are expanding so-called "crisis pregnancy centers".  They are coming under increasing scrutiny, however, for practicing medicine without a license and deceptive advertising.  … "Christians" wouldn't do that, would they?  Apparently they're looting federal funds for ultrasound equipment.   Interesting, isn't it?  Where are "prosecutors"?

Bush Lectures Chinese

Would be laughable if not so damned tragic and hypocritical.  Ole' George speaking on Chinese television pontificated "Life in America shows that liberty, paired with law, is not to be feared."  … Hey, George?  Is that why you signed The Patriot Act decimating the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments?

Crowing further, he asserted "In a free society, diversity is not disorder.  Debate is not strife.  And dissent is not revolution.  A free society trusts its citizens to seek greatness in themselves and their country."  Is that why you're doing your damnedest to establish a "Christian" theocracy through faith-based programs?  In defiance of the First Amendment?

Is that why you stifle criticism of your foreign policies by implying such questioning is unpatriotic and gives aid and comfort to the enemy?  Is that why you continuously issue Executive Orders destroying whatever is left of our precious liberties?  What liberty will you leave intact, sir?  The right to do what we're told, Mein Fuhrer?

How do your comments to the Chinese urging opening up government jive with your outrageous stonewalling of the GAO regarding Vice President "Slick" Dick Cheney's energy commission and his refusal to hand over documents germane to your wheeling and dealing with Enron and other energy companies?  … Like calling the kettle black,  right, Mr. "President"?  Readers are reminded the General Accounting Office was forced to file suit.  Clearly, Mr. Bush does NOT believe in open government.  As reported repeatedly, this is only the tip of the iceberg of the "President's" secret police-state mentality.

He has refused to release documents related to a murder investigation some 37-years-old to House Government Reform Committee Chairman Dan Burton, disingenuously asserting doing so "would be contrary to the national interest."   Interestingly, Mr. Burton is a powerful and loyal Republican quite chagrined with the "Chief Executive", pointedly responding to an ABC inquiry:"There is a veil of secrecy that is descending around the administration which I think is unseemly."  ... It's far worse than that, Congressman.

U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft has assured federal bureaucrats the "Justice" Department would be supportive if they refuse to honor Freedom of Information requests.  Chilling, isn't it?  The Department of Health and Human Services has recently been given the power to classify documents.  Why?  Bush "Administration" officials readily admit they're trying to retake power from Congress supposedly surrendered by Bill Clinton.

White House Legal Counsel Alberto Gonzalez bluntly and falsely whined:  "There has been a gradual erosion of power away from the presidency to the legislative branch."  Mr. Gonzalez has not only distorted reality, he is a liar.  The direct opposite is true, and has been   the case since laws enacted after the Nixon debacle have increasingly been ignored by Congress and the courts for some 25 years.  Gonzalez went on to crow, however:  "And I think the president and vice president believe it's very important that they leave the people's house in better shape than when they came into office."

Outrageously, the "President's" lap dog could care less about the "people's house".  Quite the opposite.  In fact, the "people's house" no longer belongs to the people.  It has been occupied by an appointed jackass who has done all he could to decimate the Bill of Rights and personal liberty.  Sadly, the people are too aggressively stupid to realize they've been had.  What we have here is a cleverly disguised attempt to impose fascism by a dolt unfit to be dog catcher.  Again, working definition of fascism for new readers? An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion.  ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

Justice

What's that?  Las Vegas "prosecutors" have informed police they will not prosecute Mike Tyson for two recent rape allegations.  Sadly, if it were anybody else their ass would have already been properly in a sling.  Not when it comes to "royalty" in the United States though.  They receive special treatment.

… Think it's BS?  Think again.   Saudi princess Buniah al-Saud, charged with beating the hell out of her maid is being allowed to return home until her trial.  … Isn't that special?  Heartwarming, no?  Think she'll return?

Church-State Separation

The First Amendment is clear on church-state issues.  … There is to be freedom of religion as well as freedom FROM it.  Not so in the minds of fascist "strict constructionist" "judges" legislating from the bench, however.  Remember a "jurist" named Roy Moore who ordered the Ten Commandments be hung in his courtroom when he was a lower court judge in Alabama?  Now, he's Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.  … Nothing quite like reverse Darwinism, is there?

All joking aside, this pathetic jackass wrote in a recent child-custody opinion homosexuality is "abhorrent, immoral, detestable, a crime against nature and a violation of the laws of nature and of nature's God."  … Hey, Roy?  Who the hell are you to speak for the Creator and impose your perverted views of morality on anyone?  When did the Creator die and appoint you God?  Most pointedly, this "jurist" demonstrates he is NOT impartial.   Rather, he is desperately trying to impose distorted "religious" views on those looking to him for "justice".  He has violated his oath of office and should be removed.

Unbridled Fear

As strongly asserted in the last 43 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.

Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.

Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?

Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.

If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
