Records Stonewalling

The "President" seems to have egregious problems disseminating public information.  Then again, being from a state notorious for blocking access and not enforcing the Public Information Act, it comes as no surprise.  Not only is Mr. Bush as "President" overly protective of energy council records quite possibly indicative of his cozy relationship with Enron, he has ensured documents generated during his governorship are extremely difficult to access as well.

Earlier governors had their records stored at the Texas State Library and Archives.  Not so, Ole' George.  The dolt currently occupying the White House has conveniently stored his gubernatorial documents at his father's presidential library in College Station.  Interesting, isn't it?  Access takes months, possibly years.  … Hey, George?  The records belong to the people of Texas, you jackass.  What are you so afraid of?  The truth?  ... Why run embarrassing or incriminating paperwork through a shredder when you can protect them at Daddy's library?

Remember "Sir Rudolph"?  Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was recently knighted by the Queen of England.  Touching, no?  All joking aside, "His Honor" made a cozy last minute arrangement with cronies to archive "his" mayoral records in a "private center" controlled by them.  Convenient, isn't it?  "Sir Rudolph" even reserved the right to block release of any material in which he has a "personal interest".  Yet, this unabashed fascist remains a "hero" to the vast majority of the American people.  Why?  Aggressive stupidity apparently knows no bounds.

Readers are reminded Mr. Bush recently signed an Executive Order blocking release of former President Reagan's documents twelve years after leaving office as required by the Presidential Records Act.  Why haven't Articles of Impeachment been drawn?  His predecessor was impeached for far less.

Equally disturbing, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft issued a memo back in October assuring federal officials of "Justice" Department support should they resist Freedom of Information Act requests.  ... 'Ain't' Nazism grand?

Despite statements to the contrary, the GOP does not run open government.  Not by a long shot.  Texas Attorney General John Cornyn at the time he took office thanked his "friend", the former governor, and assured Texans he would "vigorously enforce the laws requiring that government records and meetings shall be open to public view."   He has not done so, and ignored every request for assistance from this publication.  Every one of them.  So has the "Open" Records Division.

As far as the Open Meetings Act is concerned, Mr. Cornyn has subsequently claimed on his website to not have the authority.  It is up to the District Attorney, Ole' Sam "The Sham" Oatman.  And others like him.  -- Precisely why the Hospital has conveniently conducted all critical deliberations in executive session in violation of the Act.  With impunity.  Then again, in Llano County day is night, night is day, and manure smells sweet.  … Right, Sam?

Civil Rights Losses

For months this publication has assailed the loss of civil rights and liberties under the current "Administration".  Despite assurances from the "President" to the contrary, Mr. Bush has no interest in liberty, freedom, or rights.  Quite the opposite.  Most glaring example?  His signing of The Patriot Act last fall decimating the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Amendments, amounted to a bloodless coup.  Apparently, the gravity of recent "Presidential" Executive Orders and other actions are beginning to sink in.

According to a Reuters article dated Feb. 12,  the non-partisan Citizens' Commission On Civil Rights is asserting the United States is experiencing a "judicial assault on civil rights."  Duh.  What took 'em so long?  Fascist "judges" have long been legislating from the bench.  The Right, however, disingenuously and falsely labels it "strict constructionism".   Interesting, isn't it?  … A rose by any other name…

Working definition of fascism for new readers?  An abusive and dangerous oligarchy based on a pernicious blend of government, big business, and religion.  ... A boot-heel cynically placed on the throat of the masses, justified in principle by perversion and bastardization of religion.

The "President" has been a master at putting a happy face on the loss of rights, disguising it under a mask of "compassionate conservatism".  Sadly, it is neither "compassionate", nor "conservative".  What it is, sadly, is a clever assault on liberty and hard-won rights.  Ole' George, like his predecessor Bill Clinton, thinks he knows what's best for the people.  Unlike Clinton, however, Mr. Bush is doing his damnedest to impose his views of morality and "religion" on the rest of us.  -- Through the force of law and issuance of unconstitutional Executive Orders.  Sieg Heil, Mein Fuhrer.

Bush Anti-Drug Plan

Ole' George just doesn't seem to get it.  Never confuse a jackass with the truth.  Sadly, he is proposing a 10% increase in expenditures for drug interdiction efforts, raising the cost to taxpayers to some $2.3 billion.  … Mr. "President"?  Want to drastically curtail the drug trade in the 33rd Judicial District?  Disband the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET).

This outrageously corrupt and abusive Nazi police agency manufactures and distributes methamphetamine.  Proof?  Not yet.  Not one of dozens with direct knowledge has the courage to allow publication of their identity.  Not one.  … Just a matter of time, Brent.  Just a matter of time.

Bush To Oust Saddam

News agencies reported last week, Mr. Bush has made the decision to topple the Iraqi government, ordering the Pentagon, CIA, and other agencies to construct viable plans.  Interesting, isn't it?  … Hey, George?  Where's the congressional declaration of war?  How does the Elastic Clause of the Constitution grant you power to install what amounts to no more than American puppets in another country's government?

As offensive as Saddam is, it is up to the people of Iraq to remove him from power.  Not you.  Interestingly, Daddy could have solved the problem during the Gulf War, but chose not to do so.  … Primarily, not due to coalition problems, but because the casualties would have been high.  Think the situation has significantly changed since then?  Think Daddy was wrong to have not ousted him when he had the chance?

Where next after Iraq, George?  North Korea?  Think the Chinese won't respond?  -- Or haven't you thought that far, or what the consequences could be should this member of the "axis of evil" be attacked?  Sadly, George, you're out of your league.  Then again, "Die Fuhrer" knows best, right?

Abusive "Judges"

Contempt of court is a powerful way for a jackass occupying the bench to impose his or her will unlawfully and glaringly unconstitutionally.  Egregious case in point?   The Corneau "case" heard before Mass. Juvenile Court Judge Kenneth Nasif.  It seems Rebecca and David Corneau refused to release any information to authorities regarding the existence or non-existence of a child Mrs. Corneau may have borne.

The couple belongs to a religious sect that apparently does not believe in modern medical care.  Authorities think they may have disposed of an infant and are demanding information.  Since the Corneaus have refused to cooperate they were jailed for thirty days.  After the term was up, they were "sentenced" to an additional thirty.  Apparently, this process will continue until they comply.

While the state indeed has a legitimate interest in protecting and defending children, it needs to do so lawfully, constitutionally, and properly.  If  prosecutors have criminal evidence against this couple, they should litigate immediately.  If not, they need to gather evidence and properly prepare a case.  Forcing the couple to answer questions from glaringly abusive government officials under the pain of imprisonment, especially in the absence of any conviction or even an indictment, violates the Fourth Amendment right to privacy as well as the Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate oneself.   Then again, after The Patriot Act was signed by the "President", these rights no longer apparently exist.

Thou Shalt Not Lie To FBI

That's right.  It's quite alright for FBI agents to lie like hell during the performance of their "duties", but whatever the hell you do, DON'T return the favor.  Saudi national Faisal Al Salmi was convicted of lying to federal thugs regarding personally knowing one of the terrorists responsible for the Sept. 11 catastrophe.  He was NOT convicted of terrorism.  -- Simply lying about knowing one of the individuals involved.  When are people in this country finally going to wake up and hold government goons to the same standards the rest of us are held to?

Secret Service Agents Suspended

Three Secret Service Agents were sent home from the Olympics when they allegedly threatened a hotel manager and sexually assaulted a woman during a "party" a week before opening day.  Interesting if true, isn't it?  Think they'll be afforded the same treatment reserved for the rest of us under similar circumstances?  We'll see.

A Courageous Stand

In an interview on MTV, Secretary of State Colin Powell displayed enormous courage answering a young woman's question regarding condom use and the position of the Catholic Church:

"I certainly respect the views of the Holy Father and the Catholic Church...In my own judgment, condoms are a way to prevent infection, and therefore, I not only support their use, I encourage their use among people who are sexually active...I think it's important for young people, especially, to protect themselves from the possibility of acquiring any sexually transmitted disease, but especially to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS, which is a plague that is upon the face of the earth...If you don't protect yourself, who is going to protect you?...It is important that the whole international community come together, speak candidly about it, forget about taboos, forget about conservative ideas with respect to what you should tell young people about."

As might be expected, reaction from the Fascist Right was immediate and ferocious.  Apparently, religious bigots in this country would prefer people die of AIDS rather than use condoms.  Too bad.  Imposing their views of morality on others takes precedence over the spread of disease and needless death.

President of Focus On The Family James Dobson loudly pontificated:  "Colin Powell is the secretary of state, not the secretary of health... He is talking about a subject he doesn't understand... He clearly doesn't understand the science regarding condom efficacy."  ... Hey Jimmy?  It's YOU who doesn't understand the value of condoms in preventing the spread of disease.  For you to argue otherwise demonstrates your egregious ignorance.  ... Do you still believe in a flat earth, you jackass?  While condoms are not 100% effective in the prevention of pregnancy or the spread of disease, they drastically reduce the incidence.

For those who refuse to remain abstinent and choose to have sex, there is no choice but to use a condom.  To do otherwise, drastically increases the chance of infection.  Not important to the Religious Right, however.  Imposition of their views of morality takes precedence.  It goes much further than morality though.  It's a matter of power.  When you successfully manipulate people's sexual behavior, you exert enormous control over them.  ... Precisely how the Right gets its cookies off.

Unbridled Fear

As strongly asserted in the last 42 editions, gut-wrenching fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive. After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.

Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly, the survivor got cold feet.

Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to the light of day?

Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.

If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
