Readers should carefully read the following letter from the County Attorney denying me a protective order:
Cheryll Mabray
County Attorney
Llano County, Texas
P.O. Box 821
Llano, Texas 78643
July 11, 2001
Ms. Carolyn Alsobrook
3264 Hermosa Drive
Kingsland, Texas 78639
Dear Ms. Alsobrook:
I reviewed your application for a protective order and our office has
visited with other persons with knowledge of relevant facts regarding
the situation. As you are well aware, I currently have a pending
criminal case against you that I cannot discuss at this time. You need
to discuss the reason it is pending with your attorney. Based on the
pendency of the criminal charges, I feel that it would be a conflict of
interest for the County Attorney's Office to purse [pursue] a
protective order for you.
Also it is my understanding that Mr. O'Leary is possibly going to
file a similar type of action against you and we do not represent
people who have orders against one another, this would also be a
further conflict of interest.
A few years ago a similar assault incident occurred and the County
Attorney's Office attempted to help you at that time. Our assistance
was not appreciated and I have heard that since then you want to make
it as difficult on my office as possible to proceed with any type of
actions against you or Mr. O'Leary. I find it rather ironic that now
you are again seeking assistance from my office. You and Mr. O'Leary
have at least one or two personal Attorneys, one of whom is currently
representing you in the criminal case preciously [previously]
mentioned. You should contact this attorney or another attorney of your
choice if you desire to pursue protective order. Also I was informed
that you wanted a kick out order and/or retrieval of certain items of
property. Due to the volume of requests received by the County
Attorney's office, we do not do these type of protective orders for
your household situation.
Good luck and obviously this is an important matter that you need to take care of as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Cheryll Mabray
County Attorney
CM/lp
P.S.- I am returning the original forms to you, so
that you may give them to your private attorney, we have maintained copies for our file.
*******************
Readers should first take notice of the address the above letter
was sent to. This is particularly significant as will become clear
later in the next edition when I go into my eviction and the
inaccuracies in all legal paperwork. I have never spoken to Ms. Mabray,
except for once six years ago when she accused me of falsely needing to
call 911 after being physically assaulted by Danny.
Now, I have more false accusations and once again, Ms. Mabray has
denied me, the victim, any help against my abuser. I was totally
against seeking her help in the first place, but was told from other
battered women, this was her specialty. I'd like to know who she has
ever legitimately helped without benefiting herself. She states she
reviewed my application for protective order, but then why was I denied
protection when she never even spoke or visited with me? Her office
"visited with other persons of knowledge of relevant facts regarding
the situation."
I'm well aware, Cheryll? What pending case do you have against me
that you cannot discuss? Being assaulted six years ago? Because you
couldn't even discuss my present request for protection? What attorney
do I discuss this with? You think I'm going to get a f--king, two-faced
attorney from this area? After visiting with other persons and their
hiring of attorneys, it's either let's make a deal or get out of town.
... Or what happened to them? What conflict of interest could my
request for protective order possibly have to do with any supposed
pending charges against me? How could you in your "right", "educated"
mind tell an abuse victim that you're going to help her abuser?
It seemed your colleague Eddie Shell didn't find it a conflict of
interest representing people who have orders against one another
initiated by the state. Is this something new, where it is now a
conflict of interest for your office? When have I ever come to you for
assistance or for anything for that matter? My recollection of your
help was threatening to fire your personal secretary, Joanne Myatt, my
best friend, because of a conflict of interest when I resided on her
property. Remember, Cheryll? ... Case still pending. "Our assistance
wasn't appreciated"? What a selfish bitch. You state you heard since
then I want to make it as difficult on your office as possible? What
Llano grapevine did you hear this from? Now, is this fact, or fiction?
Obviously, your head nor heart is in your work to find ironically that
I might have been seeking your assistance.
You have stated Danny and I have at least one or two personal
attorneys. One of whom is currently representing me in a criminal case,
previously mentioned. H-E-L-L-O, Cheryll? Are you smoking a little meth
yourself? Who's my hired attorney? A kick-out order/retrieval of
certain items of property? The only thing I came to you about was a
protective order against my seven-year abuser. I feel that your letter
was the knife that finished where Danny left off. How dare you wish me
luck? You have no idea how important this matter was and is. I pray
that no woman or any abused person ever seeks your help. P.S.: You
forgot to return ALL the original forms I filled out. Why did you
retain copies for your file? You must have needed protection. I hope
those files don't come up missing. -- Since that seems to be a problem
in the Llano-Burnet County filing system. I look forward to hearing
from you, Cheryll, -- unless the volume of business is too great for
you to take the time for a victim of abuse like me. Readers, there'll
be more to come unless I'm falsely incarcerated, undue harm befalls me,
or I conveniently vanish.

***********************************
This publication certainly applauds the courage of Ms. Alsobrook
and looks forward to the continuation of her story in the next several
editions. Regarding the County Attorney's letter denying Ms. Alsobrook
a protective order, 'how 'bout 'dat?' All joking aside, think this is a
caring, concerned "prosecutor" looking out to protect battered women?
Dear Ole' Cheryll hypocritically laments conflicts of interest, while
she herself is the perfect example. Readers are strongly reminded this
apparently egregiously corrupt and abusive County Attorney maintains a
private law practice that often conflicts with her "prosecutorial"
duties. Many men have come forward to complain she prosecuted them in
County Court for criminal offenses, yet at the same time served as
attorney for their wives during divorce proceedings. Sadly, not one of
these men had the guts to step forward publicly and allow publication
of their name and address. Not one. ... They get precisely what they so
richly deserve, don't they?
Think it professional when Ole' Cheryll whined: "A few years ago a
similar assault incident occurred and the County Attorney's Office
attempted to help you at that time. Our assistance was not appreciated
and I have heard that since then you want to make it as difficult on my
office as possible to proceed with any type of actions against you or
Mr. O'Leary. I find it rather ironic that now you are again seeking
assistance from my office."? ... Hey, Cheryll? What the hell do you
want, madam? People to roll over and willingly accept the ungreased
shaft from you and your cronies?
With all due "respect", who the hell are you? Most pointedly, you're a
disgrace and embarrassment to yourself and the people you allegedly
serve. Almost forgot. You don't serve the citizens of Llano County. You
serve yourself and your apparently equally corrupt and abusive masters.
Should anything happen to Ms. Alsobrook or any other battered woman in
this County, it will indeed be you ultimately responsible for not doing
your job and adequately protecting them. It's also interesting, isn't
it, you have absolutely no interest in seeing to it that "stolen"
property is returned to its rightful owner, Ms. Alsobrook? Right,
Cheryll? Then again, what the hell do you care, anyway?
*****Improper Pressure?*****
The Bush "Administration" apparently doesn't tolerate dissent or
criticism gracefully. Labor Department official Charles E. James Jr.
demanded a conference speaker be dropped from a trade association
meeting of corporate antidiscrimination officers. The speaker, Alfred
E. Ross, apparently had planned to strongly criticize "conservative"
organizations as enemies of affirmative action. Had Mr. Ross not been
muzzled, Labor Department employees would not have attended.
Interesting, isn't it? Amazingly, these boobs outrageously believe
their actions will be conveniently ignored, overlooked, and/or
accepted. ... Nothing quite like closet bigotry, is there?. -- Or Aryan
arrogance. ... Then again, we're talking about the Extreme Right,
aren't we?
*****Good Old Boy Sen. Jesse Helms Soon To Retire*****
Arguably, the most fascist member of the U.S. Senate has announced
retirement plans. Ole' Jesse is about to finally throw in the towel.
About time. Interestingly, Republicans are quite concerned with hanging
on to his seat. North Carolina has repeatedly returned the old battle
wagon to office by slim majorities. Things may change in favor of
Democrats as the state moves from the Extreme Right. Elizabeth Dole may
run. Be interesting to see if a more liberal Republican finds favor
with voters.
Ole' Jesse was remarkably consistent in his bigotry of blacks and gays:
``The Negro cannot count forever on the kind restraint that has thus
far left him free to clog the streets, disrupt traffic and commerce,
and interfere with other men's rights. Mob action invites mob action;
violence invites violence; lawlessness invites lawlessness. If and when
this erupts, who will restore order?'' (Comments made to a television
audience in 1963)
``She's not your garden-variety lesbian. She's a
militant-activist-mean lesbian, working her whole career to advance the
homosexual agenda. Now you think I'm going to sit still and let her be
confirmed by the Senate? ... If you want to call me a bigot, go
ahead.'' (Comments made in 1993 regarding a nominee to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development)
Adolph and Benito would have certainly been proud of their blood
brother. Mr. Helms will be sorely missed by fellow Neanderthals,
suffering from bleeding knuckles proudly and defiantly dragged behind
them. His bigotry was directed not only at blacks and gays, but anyone
in disagreement with his extremist views. The most poisonous venom,
however, was generously reserved for those having the audacity to
energetically challenge his most strongly held fascist principles. Most
pointedly, during the Second World War, hundreds of thousands of our
best and brightest valiantly died fighting fascist bastards who thought
remarkably similarly to Mr. Helms. It's time for Ole' Jesse to climb
back into the hole he crawled out of.
*****Nepotism*****
Remember how vigorously the Right criticized Hillary Clinton regarding
her power as First Lady? Nepotism, however, is a far more serious
problem in the present Republican "Administration". After all, the
"President's" staff seems to have gone out of its way to nominate
and/or appoint numerous family members of prominent Republicans to high
level jobs. ... The following names ring a bell? -- A Powell, a
Thurmond, a Scalia, a Rehnquist, a Bunning? How about a son-in-law of
the "Vice President" or a Bush cousin? Amazingly, the Fascist Right
reacted viciously to Mrs. Clinton. ... Yet, remains deafeningly and
gutlessly silent when the current "Administration" aggressively pursues
nepotism to a far greater extent than Clinton and his cronies. Then
again, hypocrisy has become the norm, hasn't it?
*****Propriety?*****
Think Republicans are too pristine to outrageously take care of
their own at the expense of the American people? GOP Sen. Ted Stevens
of Alaska has tacked on one sentence to a $60 billion transportation
appropriations bill that amounts to a giveaway of some 1505 acres of
prime wilderness worth millions to a group of cronies of the senator.
The Alaska Lighthouse Association conveniently plans to "preserve" and
"restore" the land. Interesting, isn't it? When the hell are the
American people finally going to wake up?
*****Condit, An Outrageous Disgrace*****
That's right. The California congressman should have long since
resigned from office. ... Not for having sex with an intern, but for
having withheld desperately needed information from police
investigating the disappearance of Chandra Levy. Equally pointedly, the
American people deserved a full explanation from this human piece of
excrement regarding his relationship with the missing intern, but have
been repeatedly denied. The most glaring example is the Congressman's
recent interview with Connie Chung. The bobbing and weaving and
outrageous stonewalling put Ole' Bill to shame. Amazing, isn't it,
Condit seems to have learned nothing from the former President's
scandal? Then again, the arrogance of power is intensely intoxicating.
Clearly, there is no longer any substantive difference between both
major political parties.
*****Perfection*****
Typographical errors drive you nuts? Been a problem for many area
publications, including this one. ... Especially since there is no
spell check function in the software provided by Maxpages. Being a
speed reader, it is also extremely difficult to proof-read one's own
material.
Compounding the problem is the limitation of the software itself. After
over two years of effort looking for a way around this perpetually
nagging problem however, a solution has finally been found. ... A
round-about way of finding most errors without use of a proof-reader.
Some of you may have noticed earlier editions being updated. Only
typographical errors are being corrected, however. -- Not substance.
Fortunately, there were far fewer errors than expected. Usually one or
two per edition so far.
... Extremely painful though, for a perfectionist. All joking aside,
typographical accuracy is important and every effort is made to ensure
it.
*****Unbridled Fear*****
As strongly asserted in the last seventeen Newsletters, gut-wrenching
fear generated by the Narcotics Enforcement Team is quite impressive.
After all, these Nazi stormtroopers not only outrageously intimidate
defendants and their gutless attorneys, but even innocent third parties
who have suffered at their corrupt and abusive hands.
Recently, a source came forward with allegations regarding the
death of a loved one under exceptionally curious circumstances. Sadly,
the survivor got cold feet.
Most pointedly and quite publicly, how in hell do you expect these
abuses to end if you don't have the guts to stand up and expose them to
the light of day?
Every time a source cowardly runs the other way, the corrupt and
abusive sons of bitches win. Every g-ddamned time. Worse yet, another
nail is driven into the coffin of liberty.
If you don't have the courage to stand up and do the right thing, why
should this writer continue to place himself in physical and legal
jeopardy trying to expose the outrageous corruption and abuse?
Despite the lack of financial assistance from a cowardly and
selfish community, the Llano Ledger and Llano Ledger 2 visitor count
stands in excess of 144,200. ... Over two years, now. For what?
