It's appalling. Runs against the grain of everything our formerly great country once stood for. No longer.

The following is an atrocity. Hard to believe something like it could occur anywhere in our formerly great country. United Press International reports:

"More than two months after Ahmaud Arbery was fatally shot while jogging near Brunswick, Georgia police arrested two men for the shooting, authorities said. Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34, were arrested and charged Thursday with murder and aggravated assault in Arbery's death and will be booked into the Glynn County Jail, authorities said. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said Arbery, 25, was shot and killed Feb. 23 in the Satilla shores neighborhood in Brunswick after being confronted by the pair with firearms. Benjamin Crump, an attorney for Arbery's father, said in a statement that it was "outrageous" that it took more than two months for them to be taken into police custody. "This is the first step to justice. This murderous father and son duo took the law into their own hands," he said. "It's a travesty of justice that they enjoyed their freedom for 74 days after taking the life of a young black man who was simply jogging."

It is.

"Charges were not initially filed against the McMichaels and Arbery's death failed to gain attention until a video of the shooting surfaced on the Internet earlier this week. The video, shot from a vehicle trailing Arbery who is jogging along a street on a sunny day, shows Arbery confronted by the younger McMichael armed with what appears to be a shotgun. A shot is fired. The two men are seen fighting. A second shot is fired and the video ends. According to a police report, the elder McMichael told police following the shooting that they thought Arbery looked like someone who was suspected of committing a series of break-ins in the area and chased after him. Travis fired his weapon in self-defense after Arbery attacked him, Gregory told police. The autopsy showed that Arbery was shot three times."

"Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill, who was initially assigned to the case, said in a letter that he did not bring charges against the three men as they were in "hot pursuit" of a burglary suspect with "solid first-hand probable cause." He said the video is proof that the shooting was in self-defense. "Given the fact Arbery initiated the fight, at the point Arbery grabbed the shotgun, under Georgia Law, McMichael was allowed to use deadly force to protect himself," he wrote. Barnhill recused himself from the case after Arbery's mother said there was a conflict of interest as the elder McMichael had retired from another district attorney's office. S. Lee Merritt, a lawyer for the Arbery family, said via Twitter after the video surfaced that it confirms Arbery was pursued by three white men who targeted him "solely because of his race and murdered him without justification." "This is murder," Merritt said. The video sparked outrage among the public, activists and NBA basketball star LeBron James, who tweeted about Arbery's death, offering his condolences, prayers and anger against the alleged injustice of the shooting. "We're literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes! Can't even go for a damn jog, man!" LeBron said. The morning of the video's release, the Glynn County Police Department, which was investigating the shooting, requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to "investigate the public release of video related to Arbery's death." Gov. Brian Kemp said in a statement that same day that "Georgians deserve answers." On Twitter Thursday, Crump called on authorities to arrest William "Roddie" Bryan as an accomplice to the crime."

This is one hell of a screwed up travesty of justice.

"A Georgia Bureau of Investigation official said Friday that there’s no plan to investigate the local prosecutors and law enforcement agencies that failed to arrest or file charges against suspects in the fatal shooting of a black jogger in February."

"He also said his bureau’s investigation into the incident would include William Bryan, identified by prosecutors as the man who shot the video that shows Arbery’s killing. Brunswick attorney Alan Tucker claimed responsibility for releasing the video, telling a local news station that he thought it would diffuse tensions in the case. Before the arrests, Tucker said he had been in touch with the McMichaels, but that they had not formally retained him, according to the local report. Reached by phone Thursday afternoon before he was arrested, Gregory McMichael said, “There are many, many facts out there that have not come to light.” “This is all based on the video and newspaper story. All the stuff that led up to that still hasn’t been released,” he said."

"Gregory McMichael refused to comment further because the case is under investigation and also declined to comment on behalf of his son, Travis. He referred questions to Tucker, who did not return an email requesting comment on the case. The video shows two men approach a young black man jogging on the street. After a brief interaction, gunshots are heard and the jogger stumbles to the ground.

"According to a police report, Gregory McMichael, a retired police detective, saw Arbery jogging and believed he looked like a suspect in break-ins in the neighborhood. A local news report found only one burglary was reported to police between Jan. 1 and Feb. 23. McMichael called his son and they armed themselves with a handgun and shotgun, respectively, according to the police report. They chased Arbery in a truck, according to the report, and McMichael told police that he shouted to Arbery, “Stop, stop, we want to talk to you,” before, according to their statements, they pulled up beside him in their truck. The case has been assigned to a carousel of prosecutors, beginning with Jackie Johnson in the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, who recused herself from the case in February because Greg McMichael was previously an investigator in her office. The case then went to George E. Barnhill, district attorney for Georgia’s Waycross Judicial Circuit, who also recused himself, after Arbery’s mother complained that Barnhill’s son used to work with McMichael in the Brunswick District Attorney’s Office, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post. In the letter recusing himself addressed to the Glynn County Police Department, Barnhill identified William Bryan as the man who shot the video that shows Arbery’s killing and laid out an argument that the McMichaels’ and Bryan’s actions were legal under the state’s citizen’s arrest and self-defense statutes. On Tuesday, Durden — the latest district attorney to take on the case — said in a statement that it should be presented to a grand jury for consideration of criminal charges. A statewide moratorium on judicial proceedings was extended this week until June 12, meaning it could be another month before the case is heard. At Friday’s news conference, Durden denied that public pressure pushed him to bring charges and declined to comment on Barnhill’s letter offering a potential legal defense in the case. Durden said that if the case goes to trial, all of its legal principles will be explained by a judge. “What someone says the applicable law is is an opinion,” Duren added. “The law still comes from the court.”

"Hundreds attended a rally Friday in support of Ahmaud Arbery, and officials said they will investigate the man who recorded a video of his shooting. Aubry, who is African American, was shot to death while jogging in Brunswick, Ga., on Feb. 23. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest Thursday of Gregory McMichael and his son Travis McMichael, who are white. They are charged with murder and aggravated assault. GBI Director Vic Reynolds said a video shot by William "Roddie" Bryan, is a key piece of evidence in the case. The video has appeared on numerous social media platforms. Gregory McMichael told police they suspected that Arbery was a burglary suspect and chased him, adding that Arbery attacked them when he was confronted by the two armed men. Bryan, with his cellphone camera, joined in the chase and produced the video. Reynolds said Friday that additional arrests are possible. On Friday, Arbery's 26th birthday, gatherers mourned the loss of a fellow runner and friend. "We didn't give up," one of the speakers at the event, Julie Jordan, told the crowd. "The community didn't give up. We knew the truth and we were not going to be silenced. Let's all keep running with Ahmaud until justice is served."

This is an exceptionally convoluted case. More details have come out:

"The GBI said Wednesday that it would assist local law enforcement at the request of Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney Tom Durden, who has led an investigation of the shooting since April 14. Arrests were made within 36 hours of the GBI's involvement. Two commissioners of Glynn County, where the incident occurred, said that police officers were prepared to arrest the father and son within days of the shooting, but were prevented by District Attorney Jackie Johnson. "The police at the scene went to her, saying they were ready to arrest both of them, said Commissioner Alan Booker. "These were the police at the scene who had done the investigation. She shut them down to protect her friend McMichael."

Fascinating, isn't it?

"The elder McMichael, now retired, formerly worked as an investigator in Johnson's office. Johnson has recused herself from the case within days of the shooting. Commissioner Peter Murphy said Glynn County police told him that they had probable cause to make the arrest, but did not after contacting Johnson's office. "They were told not to make the arrest," Murphy said. In Georgia, GBI involvement must be requested by local authorities. "We're investigating everyone involved in the case, including the individual who shot the video," Reynolds said Friday. "Probable cause was clear to our agents pretty quickly. I'm very comfortable in telling you there's more than sufficient probable cause in charging felony murder."

How could this have gone on for months before the arrests were made?

"Georgia's attorney general asked the U.S. Justice Department on Sunday to investigate how local authorities handled the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. Attorney General Chris Carr said in a statement that local prosecutors had not informed his office that they had advised police on whether Gregory McMichael, 64, and Travis McMichael, 34, should be arrested after Arbery was killed Feb. 23 in Brunswick."

CBS News reports:

"Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr on Monday named a new prosecutor in the Ahmaud Arbery case. Cobb County District Attorney Joyette Holmes will now prosecute the fatal shooting of the 25-year-old. In a statement, Carr called Holmes a "respected attorney with experience" as a lawyer and judge, adding that her office has the "resources, personnel and experience to lead this prosecution and ensure justice is done." Attorney Lee Merritt, who is representing the Arbery family, issued a statement urging Holmes to be "zealous in her search for justice, as she works to hold all of those responsible for the unjustifiable execution of an unarmed young Black man in broad daylight."

NPR reports:

"A day after naming a new lead prosecutor in the murder case of Ahmaud Arbery, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr said he has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to look into the actions of two district attorneys and how they handled the case. The investigation into the killing of Arbery, a 25-year-old black man who was shot and killed while jogging in a Brunswick, Ga., neighborhood, had stalled in the 10 weeks following his death on Feb. 23. In a letter dated May 11 to GBI Director Vic Reynolds, the state attorney general's office asked for an investigation "involving possible prosecutorial misconduct." It also stated that "actions of these offices in possibly misrepresenting or failing to disclose information ... may have constituted unprofessional conduct" or other criminal offenses. "When a district attorney is unable to take on a case due to a conflict, our office must appoint another prosecutor to handle the case," Carr said in a statement on Tuesday. "Unfortunately, many questions and concerns have arisen regarding, among other things, the communications between and actions taken by the District Attorneys of the Brunswick and Waycross Circuits," he added. "As a result, we have requested the GBI to review in order to determine whether the process was undermined in any way." The attorney general also asked the U.S. Justice Department over the weekend to investigate local authorities' handling of the case."

Ahrens frequently drives all the way through Berardi's property. Coup de grace? When Berardi complained to Llano County Deputy Idle about the trespassing, the officer's response was insane. Said the Sheriff told him to tell Berardi since Ahrens believes she owns his property she can't be charged with trespassing. Perfect Catch-22, right, Sheriff? You're not fit for office, Bill. Bribed by Johnny Greene?

Why is Theresa Ahrens allowed by your goons to dictate what vehicles can and cannot be parked on Berardi's property? Ahrens claims she has proof the property belongs to her where the vehicle was parked. Has failed to produce it. Surveyors say otherwise. Back up Berardi. Yet, your jackbooted bastards refuse to enforce Berardi's property rights. Why? Somebody lining somebody's pockets, Sheriff?

Ms. Ahrens micro-mini portable 'house' is parked on an unused unmarked Llano County road. Imagine that. Madam County Attorney well-aware. Has done nothing. Shit squat. "Protesters crowded the streets of Indianapolis on Thursday to voice concerns about police treatment after officers shot and killed two men and fatally struck a pregnant pedestrian in three separate incidents just hours apart. A comment heard by an officer responding to the first shooting drew the ire of the city's police chief. Police did not have body camera or dash camera footage of either shooting. Both of the men were black, as were most of the protesters."

Why no video? Protecting the jackbooted bastards?

"The pregnant woman, who was white, was walking along an expressway ramp when an officer driving to work struck her with his vehicle. Events surrounding the first shooting were livestreamed on Facebook, including comments by a responding detective who is heard saying: "I think it's going to be a closed casket, homie," an apparent reference to a closed-casket funeral. "Let me be clear, these comments are unacceptable and unbecoming of our police department," Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Chief Randal Taylor told reporters during a news conference Thursday. "We'll be pursing immediate disciplinary action against that officer," Taylor added, going to great lengths to assure the investigations into all of the deaths will be thorough and transparent."

Delusionally, believe so?

"I hope you understand that I'm one that is willing to acknowledge that if we made mistakes here, we will address them," he said. "But let the investigation run its course before we jump to conclusions - either on our side or on the community's side."

"He did not rule out the possibility that the "ambush-style" attack on police hours later that resulted in the death of the second man may have been prompted by the first shooting, but he said there was no evidence to confirm that. Protesters converged on the first shooting scene Wednesday night, and dozens more gathered Thursday at the City County Building in downtown Indianapolis. Many wore face masks aimed at reducing the spread of the coronavirus and at times shouted, "No justice, no peace." Several carried Black Lives Matter flags and signs. The Marion County coroner's office identified the man killed in the first shooting as Dreasjon "Sean" Reed, 21, and the man killed later as McHale Rose, 19. The pregnant woman was identified as Ashlynn Lisby, 23. Her fetus also did not survive. Protests began after video of the events leading up to Reed's shooting appeared on Facebook. The video, which appears to have been recorded by Reed, shows him being pursued by police both in his car and on foot before incoherent shouting and popping sounds are heard. Later came the detective's comment, which also was broadcast live on social media. Taylor said Thursday that the detective was not present when the shooting happened. Reed's father, Jamie Reed, said he had seen the video and was "crushed" by its contents. "It just shows me that we're not really being protected and served. We're being hunted," he told reporters at Thursday's protest."

"A sheriff's deputy in North Carolina is facing criminal charges after authorities said he led a group of armed people to the wrong home in a search for a missing girl. New Hanover County District Attorney Ben David said Friday that Jordan Kita, who worked in the New Hanover Sheriff's Office, will be charged with trespassing and breaking and entering."

Jesus Christ. How does something like this happen? How? -- Head so far up his clueless ass his eyeballs are turning inside out? Give me a break.

"Kita led an armed group May 3 to the home of Dameon Shepard, a senior at Laney High School in Wilmington, according to James W. Lea, a lawyer for Shepard’s family who is preparing a civil lawsuit. The all-white group tried unsuccessfully to force its way into the home of Shepard, who is black, news outlets reported. Kita was looking for Lekayda Kempisty, a 15-year-old girl who was reported missing earlier that day. She was later found safe. In its effort to find Lekayda, Kita's group was searching for someone named Josiah who used to live next door. Shepard told news outlets that he repeatedly tried to point out to the group that they had the wrong house and that a yard sign out front explicitly congratulated “Dameon” on his high school graduation, to no avail."

"Shepard’s mother, Monica Shepard, also told the group they should leave, according to Lea. “Coming to the door like that with a mob of people with guns, what do we expect? What were their intentions?” Monica Shepard told WECT-TV. “What if he was the person they were looking for or what if I was not home? What would’ve happened? I don’t want to have that conversation. I don’t want him to be a statistic. It’s scary.” David said there was believed to be some sort of familial relationship between Kita and the girl. Authorities said Kita has been fired. It's unclear whether he had an attorney who could comment. A second man in Kita's group is also facing a criminal charge for “going armed to the terror of the public.”

"The family of a 20-year-old Guatemalan woman shot dead in 2018 by a U.S. Border Patrol agent filed a civil rights lawsuit Tuesday against the agent and the U.S. government. The family of Claudia Gómez González is suing in federal court in Laredo, Texas for unspecified actual and punitive damages. The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas filed the lawsuit one year after filing a $100 million federal claim on the family’s behalf. The claim was filed one year after the May 23, 2018, shooting. Gómez González crossed the Texas-Mexico border with several other migrants when border agents confronted them in a vacant lot near Laredo. One agent shot Gómez González in the head, and she took moments to die, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit only refers to one of the 21 defendant agents by name, referring to the others as “Does 1-20.” The lawsuit alleges that one of the agents, or a combination of them, were responsible for the woman's death and that she was the victim of excessive violence and a civil rights violation."

"A man who was repeatedly punched by a Los Angeles police officer during an arrest in April that was captured in a cellphone video has sued the city. Richard Castillo alleges in the lawsuit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California against the city and members of its police force, that a male officer began to violently strike him in his face, head and body during an encounter near a vacant lot in the 2400 block of Houston Street in the Boyle Heights neighborhood on April 27. The Los Angeles Police Department released police body camera footage of the incident Tuesday. The officer used closed fists to repeatedly strike Castillo for 20 or more seconds while a female officer "failed to intervene," the lawsuit states. Castillo also alleges that the male officer spit in his face."

Gets worse. Get this:

"Throughout the incident, Castillo "was terrified for his life, and was experiencing substantial pain and suffering," the lawsuit states. Witnesses and residents expressed disapproval to the male officer who responded by telling them to "shut the f--- up," "get inside" and "you are all idiots," according to the lawsuit. Castillo said at some point during the encounter, a resident recorded video of the incident that went viral. Castillo spent a night in jail and was released "without any pending charges or citations," the lawsuit states."

Amazing, isn't it? ... Hear the rumble?

"Castillo has lived most of his life in Boyle Heights on the 2400 block of Houston Street and was raised two houses down from the vacant lot, according to the lawsuit, which states he lives in a tent with his dog on an empty lot in the neighborhood. His attorney, Wesley Ouchi, told NBC News that Castillo is safe."

How about the rest of the city?

"In the viral video, two officers can be seen ordering a man to turn around near a fence outside a church. A male officer tells the suspect "Don't fight. You're fighting, man." Castillo responds: "Ain't nobody fighting." The officer then throws punches to the back of Castillo's head while shouting profanities. A female officer stands by and does not appear to intervene.

"Police Chief Michel Moore said in a video released Tuesday that he had serious concerns after watching the "third-party video that was released last week." "Any use of force, justified or not, is difficult to watch," Moore said. "But this one is disturbing." He cautioned that one video does not tell the whole story and said he will not pass judgment on this case until the investigation is complete. "We discovered this video the same day that the interaction occurred and took immediate action," the LAPD said in its statement. Neither the officer nor the suspect were identified in the statement."

Why not? The public is entitled to this information.

"The officer received minor injuries to his hand, while the suspect had abrasions to his head and face and refused medical attention, according to the LAPD. The man was ultimately released pending further investigation, the statement said."

No matter what and at the very least, Castillo couldn't have done anything that horrendous. Otherwise, the jackbooted bastards would never have released him.

"A woman was shot and killed in her Louisville, Kentucky, home by police executing a "botched' search warrant who forced their way in, surprising the woman and her boyfriend who thought the officers were burglars, her family says in a lawsuit. The lawsuit — filed by the family of the woman, Breonna Taylor, an EMT worker — says she and her boyfriend thought they were being burglarized and he fired in self defense. The lawsuit accuses the three officers of "blindly firing" more than 20 shots into the apartment."

Here's the law enforcement side of the killing:

"After the March 13 incident, the Louisville Metro Police Department said the officers had knocked on the door several times and “announced their presence as police who were there with a search warrant.” After forcing their way in, they “were immediately met by gunfire,” Lt. Ted Eidem said at a news conference. Taylor's death gained national attention this week after the family hired attorney Ben Crump, who is also representing the family of Ahmaud Arbery, the black man in Georgia who was killed on Feb. 23 after being pursued and shot by two white men. The two men are charged with murder and aggravated assault."

Nazi justice:

"Taylor, 26, was shot eight times by police. Walker, 27, was arrested and charged with assault and attempted murder on a police officer. An attorney for Walker could not immediately be reached. Crump called Taylor's death a "senseless killing." "We stand with the family of this young woman in demanding answers from the Louisville Police Department," he said in a statement Monday on Twitter. The attorney called out the police department for not providing "any answers regarding the facts and circumstances of how this tragedy occurred." Records show that the police investigation was centered around a "trap house" more than 10 miles from Taylor's apartment, and that a judge had approved a "no-knock" search warrant, meaning officers did not have to identify themselves, according to The Courier-Journal. The lawsuit states that Taylor and her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, were asleep in their bedroom when police in plainclothes and unmarked vehicles arrived at the house looking for a suspect who lived in a different part of the city and was already in police custody. The three officers entered Taylor's home "without knocking and without announcing themselves as police officers," the suit states. The lawsuit says Taylor and Walker woke up and thought criminals were breaking in. Walker called 911 and police said he opened fire and shot an officer. "The defendants then proceeded to spray gunfire into the residence with a total disregard for the value of human life," the lawsuit alleges. "Shots were blindly fired by the officers all throughout Breonna's home."

Consider the following:

"The suit states that Walker had a license to carry and kept firearms in the home, and that Taylor was unarmed. Taylor and Walker had no criminal history or drug convictions. No drugs were found in the apartment. Her address was listed on the search warrant based on police's belief that a drug suspect had used her home to receive mail, keep drugs or stash money. The warrant also states that a car registered to Taylor was seen parked on several occasions in front of a "drug house" known to the suspect. Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, filed the lawsuit in April in Jefferson Circuit Court alleging wrongful death, excessive force and gross negligence."

"Crump said during an interview on MSNBC that Taylor was "completely innocent" and went on to say that "black women's lives matter too." The attorney also called for the charges against Walker to be immediately dropped. A police spokesperson had no comment this week because the investigation was still ongoing. The officers, identified as Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove, were reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation."

An A Train was just pulling into the Inwood 207th Street Station on a night of outreach as the homeless were being asked to leave the subway trains so they could be cleaned and disinfected. "He started to make a move toward the front of the train. I was able to grab him and basically - and quickly pulled him back deeper onto the platform," said Lt. Murphy."

"On the platform with the lieutenant was police officer Fidias Peralta. "When I saw him approaching the lieutenant, I noticed he said something, and the lieutenant tried to grab him, and I had seen him trying to throw himself toward the train. I see the lieutenant grab the individual and pull him away from the train as it was pulling in," said Officer Peralta. "You have to observe them, watch them, and then cautiously try to provide as much help as we can," added Lt. Murphy. It is the homeless outreach effort in the massive transit system, now pressed to provide help, while at the same time keeping it safe for essential workers. Officer Serbay Gobelek is with the outreach unit. "We bring the department nurses with us, and work with the individuals, and evaluate whether the person needs help or not, and if they need help, we get the person to the hospital and get the help they need," said Officer Gobelek. As for the homeless man who Lieutenant Murphy encountered? "You are there to help individuals get help, but also being to save individuals is the most important part," he said."

"A group of immigrants in U.S. government custody clashed with officials at a Massachusetts detention facility late Friday, according to advocates and local authorities, who reported the latest episode of growing dissent and frustration among detainees amid the coronavirus pandemic. The disturbance at the Bristol County House of Corrections in the town of Dartmouth is at least the ninth instance since President Trump declared a national emergency over the coronavirus in which staff at detention facilities have used pepper spray on protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees, according to statements from the agency to CBS News. It is also at least the tenth incident since then in which detention center personnel have responded to disturbances by immigrants."

"The descriptions by the local sheriff and ICE of what unfolded on Friday were significantly different from those of advocates and family members of detainees. However, all accounts depicted a major escalation."

Certainly, did.

Here's the Sheriff's version of events:

"According to the Bristol County Sheriff's Office, Friday's incident started after "about 10 detainees" at one of the facilities in the complex reported having symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. "The detainees refused to get tested for COVID-19, then when notified they were required to be tested because of reporting symptoms, rushed violently at Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson and corrections officers, barricaded themselves inside the facility, ripped washing machines and pipes off the wall, broke windows and trashed the entire unit," the office said in a statement. The sheriff's office claimed that corrections officers, a K9 dog unit and a "special response team" were "attacked" by immigrant detainees upon entering a detention facility housing area. The immigrants were later restrained, the office added. Three immigrants were transported to a hospital; "one for a pre-existing medical condition and another for a medical incident after being removed from the ICE wing. All three are expected to be fine," according to the sheriff's office."

Where's video of the incident, Sheriff? Why hasn't it been released?

"Sheriff Hodgson, an ardent supporter of Mr. Trump and controversial figure in Massachusetts politics, said the disturbance was sparked after detainees refused to allow a medical team to conduct coronavirus tests. "Our medical team alerted me, and I advised the detainees that for their health and the health of their fellow detainees and our staff, they needed to be tested at the medical unit. The detainees refused to comply, became combatant and ultimately put the lives of themselves and many Bristol County officers at risk with their reckless actions," Hodgson said in a statement."

Where's video to confirm your allegations, Sheriff? Where?

"The sheriff's office, which confirmed to CBS News that pepper spray was used on Friday, said the disturbance caused $25,000 worth of damage. "Detainees have been moved to single cells in the special housing unit pending disciplinary action, COVID-19 testing and criminal charges," the office added in its statement. On Saturday, ICE officials echoed the description offered by the Bristol County sheriff, saying detainees who were "refusing mandatory testing" caused "severe damage to jail property, breaking windows, washing machines and causing other property damage." The officials also said 25 immigrants in their custody came in contact with pepper spray during the altercation, and were evaluated by medical staff."

Where's video of the incident? Why wasn't it quickly released? The public has the right to know who the hell is telling the truth, who is lying like hell.

Here's the problem:

"Local advocates, immigration lawyers and family members of detainees disputed this version of events. The sister of a detainee inside the detention center said in a legal declaration prepared by an attorney that her brother called her at around 6:16 p.m. on Friday to tell her that guards had pepper sprayed immigrants who refused to sign papers which said "everything is okay with the conditions" at the facility."

Couldn't be, could it? The jackbooted bastards in ICE wouldn't do anything like that, would they?

"Officials started grabbing us and pushing us with force and then they started throwing pepper spray. The people on the inside could not breathe and many of us fainted. Our skin started to swell up as if we had an allergy," the detainee told his sister, according to the declaration. "Officials started breaking glass, so they could blame us for causing a disturbance. There were more people outside with dogs."

Where's the video, Sheriff? Why hasn't it been released? Why is the public forced to take your word and that of ICE?

"The detainee later told his sister to "help them" and that he had to hang up, according to the declaration. Benjamin Haldeman, the attorney who prepared the declaration, told CBS News the sister and her family requested anonymity. Sasha Wright, a resident of New Haven, Connecticut, said her fiancé, Conroy Lewis, a Jamaican immigrant held by ICE at the Bristol County House of Corrections, called her at around 5:45 p.m. on Friday to tell her that guards wanted to move him and other detainees to another facility for coronavirus testing. At around 6:35 p.m., Wright said Lewis called again and told her an altercation had broken out. During a brief phone call, Lewis said windows were broken and pepper spray was used, according to Wright. "He was scared and did not know what to do." Wright has not spoken to her fiancé since Friday evening. "I don't know what they're doing to them — and I'm worried right now," she told CBS News on Saturday. The wife of another detainee at the facility, an immigrant from West Africa, described a similar incident. She requested anonymity to speak freely. According to the woman, her husband told her on Friday evening that the incident started after detainees were told they would be moved to another facility to be tested for coronavirus. She said her husband and other immigrants were scared of being moved to an area where detainees may have been exposed to the virus. "It's not that he was refusing to be tested. It was just a matter of making sure that it was safe to move," the woman told CBS News. "He told me he was pepper sprayed and that they had all these people there with dogs," she added."

Where's the video, Sheriff?

"On Saturday afternoon, the American Civil Liberties Union branch in Massachusetts called for an independent investigation of Friday's incident. "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has an obligation to ensure basic human rights of people it holds in detention," Carol Rose, the group's executive director, said in a statement. "During this time of pandemic infection, the state should allow people to safely self-isolate by releasing them or arranging for home confinement." The Boston-based group, Lawyers for Civil Rights, filed a lawsuit in late March against the Bristol County sheriff and ICE, demanding the release of detainees during the pandemic. So far, it has secured the release of 48 immigrants from the Bristol County House of Corrections, the group said Saturday."

ICE has clearly failed to properly care for inmates in its gulags:

"At least 522 detainees in more than two dozen ICE detention centers across the country have tested positive for the highly contagious coronavirus, according to the agency's latest tally. They make up more than 48% of the 1,073 immigrants in ICE custody who have received testing. Coronavirus infections inside ICE's sprawling system of private prisons and county jails have increased dramatically in the past two weeks, with the agency reporting 398 new cases since April 17. At least seven detention centers now have more than 20 cases each."

"Authorities in California arrested an off-duty Los Angeles police officer on Sunday after a second officer was shot during a camping trip. Three police officers were camping and shooting guns near the Stoddard Wells Off-Highway Vehicle Area, south of Barstow, early Sunday when one of them was shot in the upper body, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. The unnamed 48-year-old victim was airlifted to a trauma center and was expected to survive, the office said."

That's good news. What isn't is an egregious lack of transparency:

"The suspect, Ismael Tamayo, 44, was arrested without incident and charged with attempted murder. Investigators said the cause of the shooting was still under investigation."

-- They had enough to charge the bastard with attempted murder, but remain unwilling to release what they do have on him? Why? To ensure best possible public face can be put on this police public relations nightmare?

"The Los Angeles Police Department said it was notified of the shooting early Sunday, confirming in a statement that all three were employees with the police force, and that Tamayo was in possession of a firearm when he was arrested. He has since been relieved of his police powers pending the outcome of the criminal and administrative investigation, authorities said. "The events overnight culminating in the serious injury to our off-duty officer, apparently at the hands of another member of this department, give me great concern," LAPD Chief Michel Moore said in a statement. "I spoke earlier this morning with San Bernardino Sheriff John McMahon, pledging our full support of their criminal investigation." Moore said he is "committed" to understanding what occurred over Sunday morning."

Again, this makes no sense. They never would have arrested and charged one of their own unless they had overwhelming evidence. Forget? There remains a double standard. The viral video, which was shot by a bystander and uploaded to social media, showed the plainclothes officer arresting two people, Shakiem Brunson, 31, and Ashley Serrano, 22, at a deli in the East Village Saturday evening before approaching a third person, Donni Wright, 33, with his Taser drawn. After cursing at Wright, the officer tackled him, punched and slapped his head, and put his knee on Wright's neck while he handcuffed him, the video showed."

"Shea said the incident is still under investigation by internal affairs and the officer was placed on modified duty Saturday night. "I was not happy with what I saw. We can be better than that," Shea said during the city's Monday coronavirus update."

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot. Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved. Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back? To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road? Why hasn't she been evicted by the County? Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens? Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery? Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue. For what? Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission recognized District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee on August 22 for his efforts in prosecuting natural and cultural resource violations as well as environmental crimes. The commission named the 33rd and 424th district attorney the 2019 Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Prosecutor of the Year. McAfee serves Burnet, Llano, Blanco, and San Saba counties. Elected in November 2012 and taking office on January 1, 2013, he has been instrumental in a number of high-profile cases involving Texas game wardens and Texas State Park police officers."

The District Attorney has ignored a complaint filed earlier by this publication regarding special treatment accorded Texas oil man Johnny Greene by the Llano County Attorney and Sheriff vis a vis a property dispute involving a local banker, three other local property owners with homes encroaching on land they don't own, one of which is on an unused Llano County road. To say nothing of damage to a Pace Arrow motorhome on that property. All a result of egregious abuse of authority by Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764. The circumstances of this fiasco can be found above in each and every edition of this publication since this happened two and a half years ago. The Sheriff, the County Attorney, and the District Attorney have all determinedly, concertedly ignored this ongoing, unresolved fiasco raising one ferociously pointed question. How much were they bribed?

"A man was pronounced dead on Friday night after police responded to a 911 call about a man with a weapon in southeast Austin. According to Austin Police Department, officers reported to the 2600 block of South Pleasant Valley Road around 6:32 p.m. after a caller said they saw people in a car doing drugs — one of whom reportedly had a gun in his hands. The caller said the man also put the gun in the air at one point. Given the vehicle description, Austin police believed the car may have been involved in a crime the day before. A group of officers responded and approached the car together when they arrived. The department said officers asked the man to step out of the car, and initially he got out, but did not comply with the officers’ commands. Officers say a woman was inside the car with the suspect. APD Police Chief Brian Manley said in a briefing Friday night that after the suspect allegedly refused to comply with officers’ commands, a “non-lethal” shot was fired at the suspect. “He is yelling back at the officers various things and the officers are telling him not to get back in the car and to keep his hands in the air and telling him to step away from the vehicle. At one point, they decided to deploy the less lethal, because again they were not getting the compliance that they were asking for,” said Manley. Manley says that after this, the suspect got back into the vehicle and drove out of the parking space — at which time the lethal gunshot was fired. “When the officer fired the less lethal shotgun the suspect got back in the car, closed the door and begins to pull out of the parking space, turning right as he’s pulling out and at that point, the officer fired his lethal firearm, fired his rifle and the vehicle then drives down a short distance and appears to have crashed into a parked vehicle at that time.”

Grants Mayor Martin "Modey" Hicks is seeking to lift a COVID-19 lockdown order that shuttered nonessential businesses to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Hicks vowed last week that he would allow all small businesses to reopen in defiance of the governor's order to keep them closed during the health emergency. The move comes as some rural communities across the country are pressuring their state and local officials to allow them to reopen their towns amid rising unemployment and economic turmoil. In the small western New Mexico town of around 9,000 people, the mayor there said the time had come to get rid of the lockdown and reopen businesses despite warnings from Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham that such a move could put people at risk."

The following is extremely dangerous:

"There will be a confrontation down here. I guarantee you there," Hicks told The Associated Press late Friday. "I've ordered the police to stop any State Police officer who comes into town and tries to shut them down." Under a health order issued late March, state officials told all nonessential businesses to close their doors. First-time lockdown offenders can be given warnings, second citations for the same offenders are petty misdemeanors with a fine of up to $100, and third-time violators can be fined up to $5,000. Lujan Grisham said the mayor's plan makes "absolutely no sense whatsoever" and warned that State Police would be ready to enforce the health order. "This notion that you don't have to comply is wrong. That you can just open up businesses and not worry about public health issues is really quite frankly tantamount to opening up a public pool and having a pee section," Lujan Grisham said at a news conference Friday. The nearby Native American community at Acoma Pueblo also pushed back against the Grants plan to allow the reopening of nonessential businesses. Pueblo Gov. Brian Vallo urged the governor of New Mexico to take any measures necessary to prevent nonessential businesses in Grants from reopening before the state's social distancing directives expire."

Time for all levels and branches of government to re-read the United States Constitution, particularly, the Bill of Rights.

"I am extremely concerned that opening now is too soon and will create a very risky situation for my pueblo and will hamper our efforts to keep our community safe and protected," Vallo said in a letter. Diane Rowe, the owner of Papa's Pawn Shop, has been going against the governor's order for more than a month now and has even been cited, CBS affiliate KRQE reports. Rowe stands by the mayor and believes businesses should have the choice to stay open if they want, all while following necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. "We're not allowing browsers at this time. We greet people at the door and ask them how can we help you," Rowe said. "If they say we're looking or just browsing, we ask them to come back after the virus is over."

Due to increased stress inflicted by the pandemic and with the country as politically polarized as it is, all levels and branches of government don't seem to be thinking and acting rationally. This is not only a problem with both political extremes, but now between local, state, and federal authorities. Dangerously, so.

"Extended security and body-cam video released Tuesday shows Chicago police shooting an unarmed short-order cook at the foot of a subway escalator and then again with his back turned to officers after they tried to stop him for violating a city ordinance by walking from one train car to another. The Chicago Transit Authority and police body-cam videos for the first time provide a detailed look at how the incident unfolded from the time Ariel Roman used a subway’s gangway doors to when he was shot for the second time after scrambling away from officers up the escalator. Roman, 33, survived but was severely injured. In the most striking video segment from a CTA camera, Roman is seen running up to the top of the escalator in the busy red line station holding a coat in his right hand. With the pursuing officers about 10 feet behind him, and with his back still turned to them, a female officer shoots him and he immediately slams face first onto the floor. The officer reholsters her gun and appears to handcuff him. The Feb. 28 shooting raised questions about whether the Chicago Police Department is complying with a court-monitored reform plan that, among other things, seeks to remedy decades of excessive force by the 13,000-officer force through training that stresses conflict de-escalation."

Chicago police remain out of control. Present an exigent threat to life, liberty, all civil and constitutional rights and liberties.

"Mayor Lori Lightfoot characterized the shooting at the time as "extremely disturbing” based on a short bystander video. She also said she wanted a full picture of what happened. One of Roman’s Chicago lawyers, Andrew M. Stroth, said Tuesday the shooting and disturbing video posed a test for Lightfoot and new Police Superintendent David Brown, who comes from Dallas with a reputation as a reformer. “While managing the COVID pandemic is the top priority, Mayor Lightfoot must address another crisis in Chicago and that is the use of excessive and lethal force by Chicago police officers," he said. The new videos were released by the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, the city agency that investigates alleged misconduct by police. The accountability agency said their release was consistent with a transparency policy, one implemented in the wake of 2015 protests after the city delayed release of video for over a year that showed a white officer shooting black teenager Laquan McDonald 16 times as he walked away from police with a folded knife."

"The officers in Roman’s case have been stripped of their police powers pending the outcome of an investigation. They could face criminal charges if the shooting is deemed unjustified."

One officer follows him into the other car and approaches him as he pulls off his earphones to listen. Seconds later, he steps off the train at the Grand station stop. Off the train, officers speak to Roman briefly before he seems to bolt for the escalator, with the officers on his heels. The bystander video released earlier shows officers tackling Roman, pepper spraying and Tasering him as he tries to wriggle from their grasp. In the bystander video, Roman can be heard saying, “I did nothing to you.” A male officer on his back keeps yelling, “Stop resisting!” Moments later, as Roman stands, he is shot in the stomach and he then scurries up the stairs. He is shot a second time in the lower back when he gets to the top."

When not at first successful executing your unarmed suspect, gutlessly shoot the fleeing suspect in the back, right, Chief?

"Lawyers for Roman say he clearly wasn’t armed when the female officer shot him the first time, nor when the injured Roman scrambled up the escalator with his back turned. The first bullet damaged his small intestine and bladder, and the second one entered his buttocks and lodged near a sciatic nerve, his lawyers say. Two days after Roman was shot, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office dropped resisting arrest and criminal narcotics charges against Roman at the request of then-interim Police Superintendent Charlie Beck. Roman in March sued the city and the two officers for unspecified damages."

The home security footage appeared to show a police sergeant handcuffing Dr. Armen Henderson, an internal medicine physician at the University of Miami Health System, as he was placing camping tents in his van. According to Henderson, the officer asked him what he was doing and if he was littering – Henderson told him he lived there. “At some point, he got upset with what I was saying and he handcuffed me,” Henderson, who is African American, told MSNBC. The officer then walked him over to the police car and pointed his fingers at him, all while not wearing a mask, the doctor said. Henderson’s wife, Leyla Hussein, came out of the house with identification to prove they both lived there. “It was really humiliating,” he said."

The other juveniles involved fled, but police have been able to identify them and have spoken to some of them, the sheriff said. The off-duty officer was not in uniform at the time of the shooting. He "exited his house as a regular homeowner," Lopinto said, adding that he has been cooperative with the investigation. "We're treating him as a victim and a suspect," Lopinto said."

"A Florida town has placed its police chief on administrative leave after he was accused by officers of saying a sheriff's deputy died of COVID-19 because he was a "homosexual who attended homosexual sexual events." The Fort Lauderdale suburb of Davie announced late Saturday that Chief Dale Engle will be on leave while the allegations made by the Fraternal Order of Police union are investigated."

"CBS Miami reports Engle met with officers during their Tuesday patrol briefing, four days after the coronavirus death of Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Shannon Bennett, 39. The officers expressed their concerns about catching the disease as Bennett had done. The union said in a letter, which was obtained by CBS Miami, that Engle "allegedly yelled about a 'backstory' which proclaimed that Deputy Bennett contracted and died from the virus because he was a 'homosexual who attended homosexual sexual events.'" "He intimated that it was because of the homosexual lifestyle that Deputy Bennett first contracted a serious underlying disease which aggravated the Covid-19 virus and led to his death," the letter continued. Engle later sent an email to the staff saying, "My intent was to provide as much information to personnel as possible. If my comments were taken out of context, they were not intended to be derogatory." Fraternal Order of Police chief of staff Mike Tucker told CBS Miami that some officers felt "intimidated" by Engle's comments. "We had several that came forward and several who were afraid to come forward as well. That is our job at that point for our officers and the members we represent when they feel intimidated," Tucker said. A working phone number for Engle could not be found Sunday and he did not immediately respond to an email sent to a personal account. Engle, 56, has been chief for a year. Richard Lemack, administrator for the town of 100,000 residents, said in a statement he would have no further comment. Tommy Reyes, the president of Miami's Fraternal Order of Police, told the Miami Herald that Bennett was his friend and called Engle's alleged comments "disrespectful" to the deputy's family, friends and fiancé. Engle was engaged to marry in December. "It was disrespectful to the entire LGBTQ community and his own officers," Reyes said. "He should be ashamed of himself for his lack of professionalism and compassion for others." Bennett's death has already roiled the Broward Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Gregory Tony on Friday suspended the president of the deputies union, Jeff Bell, after Bell accused the sheriff in a newspaper column of not providing enough protective equipment. Tony accused Bell of making false statements, having corrupt practices, exhibiting conduct that is unbecoming and not using proper discretion. "The women detained at the for-profit jail in the small, rural town of Jena, Louisiana, hail from all corners of Latin America. Some are asylum-seekers who fled repressive regimes. Others are lawful U.S. permanent residents who were picked up by immigration authorities after serving time in prison. Some are mothers and even grandmothers. Right now, they're all terrified. Like many of the more than 35,000 immigrants currently in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, the women held at the LaSalle detention center in Jena feel powerless to shield themselves from the highly contagious coronavirus, which has killed more than 53,000 people worldwide, including more than 6,000 in the U.S. At least 310 people have died in Louisiana alone, where a recent surge in cases has threatened to overwhelm the state's health care system. With at least six confirmed cases among detainees nationwide and five among detention center employees, ICE has come under intense pressure to drastically downsize its detainee population to mitigate the risk of outbreaks."

"But detainees and their advocates fear ICE isn't acting quickly enough. But after weeks of waiting in Mexico, the motel in Ciudad Juárez where they were staying was taken over by drug cartel members, prompting them to cross the U.S. border illegally in April 2019. The couple was detained near El Paso for about two months. They were allowed to shower and brush their teeth every 10 days, Remón Pérez said. The long hours in the sweltering Texas desert were difficult for Remón Pérez, who suffers from severe asthma. In June 2019, the couple was transferred to the detention center in Jena. Remón Pérez does not blame the women who tried to leave the housing area last week — everyone is desperate. "They were only protesting because we were afraid. It was not fair what they did to those women," she said. Cox, the ICE spokesman, said the women were placed in solitary confinement for violating facility rules."

Cox, from ICE, said he could not discuss Remón Pérez's medical treatment without her consent."

Unlike most of the immigrants at Jena, which holds roughly 1,200 ICE detainees, Seo speaks fluent English. She was born in Mexico but has lived in the U.S. since she was 3 years old. The green card holder was arrested by ICE upon completing a year-long prison sentence for filing a false corporate income tax return. Like other permanent residents at Jena and other ICE detention centers, Seo continues to be detained beyond her criminal sentence because the government wants to deport her to Mexico. "I don't know Mexico. I've never been to Mexico," she said. "I've been here all my life." Seo is determined to try to stay in the U.S. and return to her family in Denver, especially now, during the pandemic, but she said the past couple of months have been difficult. "It's been too long. I've missed my granddaughter's birthday. I missed two granddaughters being born." She has found some solace in helping the other women detainees. The grandmother said the women at the detention center turn to her when making requests to ICE because she speaks and writes English fluently. Many immigrants and asylum-seekers who have been detained for months and even years, Seo said, have recently been requesting that ICE send them to their home countries or allow them to pay for their own flights to leave the U.S. "They're desperate to get out of here," she said."

"Kenni, 25, is one of those women who has grown increasingly desperate. Last week, she was placed in solitary confinement after the pepper spray incident. The ICE field office in New Orleans, which has been sued for its very low parole approval rate in recent years, has also denied her request for parole. "Police see rise in domestic violence calls amid coronavirus lockdown. Isolation and financial stress can contribute to domestic violence, police and advocates say. Reports of domestic violence increased in March in many cities around the country as the coronavirus pandemic spread, according to law enforcement officials — raising concerns about families’ safety as they isolate at home. Of the 22 law enforcement agencies across the United States that responded to NBC News’ request for data on domestic violence calls, 18 departments said they had seen a rise in March. Houston police received about 300 more domestic violence calls in March than they did in February, a roughly 20 percent increase. Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina, police fielded 517 additional calls about domestic violence in March compared to the same month last year, an 18 percent jump, while Phoenix police received nearly 200 more calls, an increase of nearly 6 percent. “The financial stress alone creates a ticking time bomb for some families with a history of domestic violence,” said Steve Mueller, sheriff of Cherokee County, South Carolina, which saw a 35 percent increase in cases in March compared to February. “Unfortunately many of these domestic violence cases occur in front of children and often the children become victims of abuse and assault, as well.”

Victims rights advocates and police attribute the phenomenon to the stress from businesses and schools closing, leaving many people out of work and financially strained. Similar increases in domestic violence have been documented after natural disasters, such as Hurricane Harvey in 2017."

"In addition to Houston, Phoenix and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, law enforcement in Boston; Milwaukee; Seattle; San Antonio; Salt Lake City; Utah County, Utah; Fresno County, California; Montgomery County, Texas; East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana; Buffalo, New York; Sparks, Nevada; Portland, Oregon; Nassau County, New York; Cherokee County, South Carolina; and Charleston, South Carolina said that domestic violence cases increased in their jurisdictions in March."

“Those domestic violence incidents are dangerous and can escalate quickly and so we have a real concern about those numbers,” said Detective Greg Wilking, of the Salt Lake City Police Department, where the weekly domestic violence cases jumped from 73 to 96 in mid-March. Police in Cincinnati, Denver, New Orleans and New York City said their rates of domestic violence calls and arrests remained flat through March. The National Domestic Violence Hotline’s call volume has remained average during this period — between 1,800 and 2,000 per day. During the second half of March, 1,765 hotline callers reported that their abusive partner was leveraging COVID-19 to “further isolate, coerce, or increase fear in the relationship,” according to Katie Ray-Jones, CEO of the National Domestic Violence Hotline. And she worries those numbers don’t capture the full picture. “We are especially concerned that survivors will be unable to reach out for help due to their abusive partner monitoring their behaviors while they are in isolation,” Ray-Jones said. As domestic violence shelters gear up for a potential increase in abuse victims seeking a place to go, many expect money to become an issue."

Status quo not sustainable.

"Twenty-one YWCA associations have told the organization’s national headquarters that they predict a drop in funding for their domestic violence and sexual assault services, and a dozen anticipate closing a program or facility for abuse victims. Sharon Roberson, president of YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee, said they’re rushing to figure out what to do if one of their shelter clients shows symptoms of the coronavirus. Local hotels and colleges have already told the shelter that they won’t house sick clients, Roberson said. She considered renting RVs, but the shelter doesn’t have the funds to cover that, so now the Nashville branch is holding a set of beds empty in an isolated area within the facility for any client with COVID-19. “We’ve had to substantially adjust the way we go about doing our business,” Roberson said, noting that calls to their crisis line increased by 55 percent in recent weeks. “We’re scrambling around to figure out how to keep people safe, with the idea we could be dealing with people who have a very contagious illness. Hospitals are very important, but we’re a version of that — we have people dealing with significant trauma and they need to have a safe space to go.” Donna Garske, executive director of the Center for Domestic Peace, a nonprofit shelter in San Rafael, California, said they have 21 women and about 50 children in transitional housing, apartments that the shelter helped the women find. But nearly all of those women have lost their jobs or had their work reduced because of stay-at-home orders, she said, making it more difficult for them to pay rent. The Center for Domestic Peace is trying to secure emergency funding to help those women, Garske said, even though the shelter just had to cancel its biggest annual fundraiser. “If we’re not out of this by the end of June, that would be a major concern,” Garske said. Why are you still sitting on this information? What are you hiding, Sheriff? What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise? Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons? Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

Who are they, Sheriff? Their past history? An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse. How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information? In Lakewood, New Jersey, police broke up a wedding being held in violation of a ban on large gatherings. And in Austin, Texas, officers are encouraging people to call a hotline to snitch on violators of the city’s orders for people to stay home."

At expense of all civil and constitutional rights and liberties. Especially galling, since such draconian abrogation of these rights has failed to date to halt spread of the disease.

On Wednesday, de Blasio said the city was removing basketball hoops at 80 of its 1,700 public courts — places where he said people were ignoring instructions not to shoot around with anyone outside their household."
