Seatbelts on.  CBS News reports:

"Vietnam veteran Stanley Stoltz died alone in Omaha this month. It looked like he would be buried alone, until strangers braved the bitter cold to honor a man they never met. There were hundreds of strangers in military fatigues and civilian attire, remembering the service and patriotism of the 73-year-old army private. The rallying cry for Stoltz began a week ago, when the funeral home was concerned no one would show at the burial and posted a notice in the Omaha World-Herald. It said, "The public is invited to the cemetery to honor a Vietnam veteran with no known family."

Incredibly sad, isn't it?  No family.

"Some siblings were eventually located, but the notice went viral and the public responded."

Did they ever.

"First it came out that no immediate family was going to be there, so I thought, I'll be there," said Robert Bussant. "He needs to be honored."

Indeed.

"Stoltz was born in 1945, and grew up on a farm in Curlew, Iowa, before he served his country. President Lincoln once made a promise "to care for him who shall have borne the battle." That promise was kept for this veteran, and his sacrifice will not be forgotten."

No question.

Passing of a President. '41'.  NPR reports:

"George Herbert Walker Bush died Friday at the age of 94. George W. Bush released a statement, saying for himself and his siblings, "Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro, and I are saddened to announce that after 94 remarkable years, our dear Dad has died." "George H.W. Bush was a man of the highest character and the best dad a son or daughter could ask for," he said. "The entire Bush family is deeply grateful for 41's life and love, for the compassion of those who have cared and prayed for Dad, and for the condolences of our friends and fellow citizens."

"There were fears that after his wife, Barbara, died in April, Bush might die, too. He was admitted to the hospital with a blood infection on April 23, one day after the funeral for the former first lady, and remained there for 13 days. He also spent time in the hospital in May and June, but lived to be the first former president to reach the age of 94."

Indeed.  -- A most remarkable life.  ... From the time at the age of 20 being shot down in the Pacific during the Second World War right up to the recent loss of his wife.  While Bush and Reagan were pointedly criticized in this publication and elsewhere for damned good reason, both men were indeed the last of their genre in the Republican Party.

Compared to what now rages in the GOP, both remain flaming liberals in comparison.  Since, however, this is an obituary and there was also great good done by the late President during his lifetime, only the good will be considered here.  This man was certainly a patriot and war hero.  Did a great job as UN Ambassador.  Treated his family and all those around him extremely well with great compassion.  Consider the following:

The Washington Post reports:

"Prescott Bush wanted his son to go right to Yale upon graduation from Andover. But Mr. Bush said his father had also insisted that privilege carried a responsibility to “put something back in, do something, help others.” His own time to serve came on his 18th birthday, when he enlisted in the Navy; within a year, he received his wings and became one of the youngest pilots in the service. Sent to the Pacific, he flew torpedo bombers off the aircraft carrier San Jacinto. On Sept. 2, 1944, his plane was hit by Japanese ground fire during a bombing run on Chichi Jima in the Bonin Islands in the western Pacific. He pressed his attack even though his plane was aflame. Mr. Bush bailed out over the ocean and was rescued by a submarine. His two crewmen were killed. The future president was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross."

NPR reports:

"Bush was inspired by a speech at Andover given by Henry L. Stimson, a two-time secretary of war and "kind of a god in those Northeastern circles," says Geoffrey Kabaservice, author of Rule and Ruin, a book about moderate Republicanism. "Hearing Stimson talk about patriotism and American values was one of the things that impelled Bush to enlist," says Lewis Gould, a historian of the Republican Party. "He was impelled by a sense of duty and put himself in harm's way, and his life goes in that direction." Bush was sworn into the Navy on his 18th birthday, soon becoming its youngest pilot. He flew nearly five-dozen missions. He was shot down on Sept. 2, 1944, over the island of Chichi Jima in the Pacific and was picked up by a submarine after floating on a raft for a couple of hours."

Above quote neglects to mention the fact the young pilot spent several hours vigorously paddling that raft away from the island the Japanese were entrenched on.  Had he been captured, would have likely been killed.

Subsequent to the above, found a far more harrowing account of what happened that day.  CBS News reports:

"Like many wartime pilots, Lt. j.g. George H.W. Bush named his airplane after a girl back home. But he had to call it "Barbara III," since he lost his first two planes — one during training and one to enemy fire. That's how dangerous flying was in World War II. There were 16 pilots in George H.W. Bush's squadron, according to retired Adm. Samuel Cox, director of Naval History and Heritage Command. "Half of them were killed or captured before the end of the war," Cox said."

Must not be forgotten some 400,000 of our best and brightest were killed in action in the Second World War, both European and Pacific Theaters.

"Mr. Bush's service records show he was "average" in flight school. One instructor described him as "somewhat eccentric." He flew the Avenger, which had a three-man crew. It was the heaviest plane the Navy dared to fly off an aircraft carrier. His target on Sept. 2, 1944, was a Japanese radio transmitter on the island of Chichijima. A Navy animation shows his plane was hit as he began his run into the target. But he stayed with it until he dropped his bombs, before trying to get back over water."

Imagine the terror.  Got worse, however.  Far worse:

"Cox explained fliers who parachuted down onto the island were executed. So out over the water, Mr. Bush told his crew to bail out. "Two parachutes came out of the aircraft. One opened, which was presumably Lt. j.g. Bush. The other, what's called a streamer — the parachute didn't open," Cox said. Neither of the other two crewmen were seen again. Mr. Bush landed in the water and swam to a life raft."

Clearly, the Japanese were not happy campers:

"The Japanese came out after him. Some fighters from the flight were able to strafe the Japanese boats and keep them away during the four hours that Bush was actually in the water," Cox said. A U.S. submarine got to him before the Japanese could. "Bush was actually surprised when out of nowhere this submarine surfaces right next to him," Cox said. A 20-year-old George H.W. Bush spent 30 days on that submarine thinking, as he later told the author James Bradley, "Why had I been spared and what did God have in store for me?"

Former President Bill Clinton writes in The Washington Post:

"On Jan. 20, 1993, I entered the Oval Office for the first time as president. As is the tradition, waiting for me was a note from my predecessor, George Herbert Walker Bush. It read:

Dear Bill,

When I walked into this office just now I felt the same sense of wonder and respect that I felt four years ago. I know you will feel that, too.

I wish you great happiness here. I never felt the loneliness some Presidents have described.

There will be very tough times, made even more difficult by criticism you may not think is fair. I’m not a very good one to give advice; but just don’t let the critics discourage you or push you off course.

You will be our President when you read this note. I wish you well. I wish your family well.

Your success now is our country’s success. I am rooting hard for you.

Hey, Sheriff?  Is it true Llano County Attorney Becky Lange has advised you to stay out of the "Berardi Property Rights Denial-Damage To Pace Arrow-Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764" fiasco?  That right, Bill?  Isn't that obstruction of justice?  Also true your deputies have advised the Bolens to accept the status quo and not force the no-trespassing issue with Greene?  If so, isn't that also obstruction and official oppression?  When will you do your job, Bill?  As an elected official, you answer to the public, forget?  -- No honor?  ... No honor at all?  If the foregoing allegations are indeed true, didn't you swear an oath to uphold the law and Constitution?  Why aren't you doing so?  No guts?

Your deputy has been accused of abusing authority.  What action have you taken other than ignore the complaint?  Why aren't both Rodriguez and the County Attorney under criminal investigation?  The County Attorney appears to be obstructing justice, accepting the word of Greene in lieu of two surveyor companies who strongly assert otherwise.  Both the County Attorney and District Attorney have ignored complaints.  Par for the course in Llano County, isn't it?  Failed to do their jobs.  No surprise there, right, Bill?  Both receiving 'special consideration' up to and/or including a bribe from Greene?  Regardless, clearly, no justice in Nazi Llano County.  Bottom line?  Desperate need for an outside criminal investigation.  Conveniently, forget?  This County is ruled by men, certainly not rule of law and the United States Constitution.

Precisely, why there is desperate need for a new federal agency whose sole function would be to investigate, arrest, charge, and prosecute criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in a special court whose only mandate would be to adjudicate such cases.  Total independence.  Until that happens, the criminal bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole County will continue to do as they please.

As you're well aware, we have an outrageously corrupt, abusive, achingly inept Llano County Sheriff's Office here in Nazi Llano County.  Worse, you and your office aid and abet these SS jackbooted bastards in black.  The issue at the moment is the same it's been the last six months.

How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Our achingly useless, worthless, gutless Sheriff has ignored an email vis a vis the damage this jackbooted thug is responsible for.  Interestingly, his fellow officers believe him to be an idiot.  Yet, the Sheriff continued to defend this piece of human excrement until he realized  this entire fiasco would not be swept under the carpet.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

None of this is going away, Counselor, -- any time soon.  Will not be swept under the carpet as all the other crap going on in this hell hole County.  Not a chance.  Expect a full expose in this publication whether or not this outrageous fiasco finally gets resolved.  Including full public exposure of both the Sheriff and his jackbooted thug.

Who are they, Sheriff?  Their past history?  An ongoing investigation remains a lame bullshit excuse.  How can you and your goons be trusted when you refuse to disclose information?  One hundred thirty seven weeks.  Especially, your egregious failure to disclose the identity of the officers who pulled the trigger.  To cover your sorry ass, Sheriff?  Those of your thugs?  The people have a right to know what happened, how it went down.  You don't understand that, Sheriff?  Sadly, clearly, you answer to no one.  Including taxpayers.  Especially, taxpayers.

Until you and your goons come clean, doubt will remain this was indeed a good shoot.  The longer you drag your feet, the greater the doubt.  Think not?  Wake up.  Your credibility has tanked.  Isn't getting any better as this bullshit continues unabated.  One hundred thirty seven weeks.   Still no identification of the officers involved  ... Can't get your stories straight?  In line?  Discrepancy between LCSO and DPS? Readers, this is but one of about four other highly questionable killings by law enforcement in Llano County in the last decade or so.  There was one within the City of Llano, another in a field near Fuzzy's Corner, Buchanan Dam, yet another in Point Tella, Buchanan Dam, still another in Tow.  If there are any others I may have neglected to mention, kindly email.

It's time the public be fully informed.  -- Know what we're dealing with here and how 'law' 'enforcement' operates in this hell hole County.  If these jackbooted bastards are not reined in, the life lost could be yours courtesy of a law enforcement system that is no longer accountable to anyone.  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

The Sheriff seems to have no clue the people who pay him and his goons are entitled to know whom is killing whom and why.  This shit always seems to be swept under the carpet.  Ignored.  The attitude of these jackbooted sons of bitches is trust us.  They can't be.  They've lied too many times.  Refuse to be accountable to anyone.  We live in a goddamned fascist police-state where law enforcement does as it pleases. Usually, with impunity.  That has to change.

The Texas Rangers have become rubber stamp to atrocities committed by law enforcement.  This also has to change.  No one is holding law enforcement accountable any longer.  No one.  No one in state or federal government. This is precisely why Ferguson triggered such an uproar.  There was no justice there.  None here.  None anywhere.  Officers are abusive, corrupt, inept.

Falsely ticket and arrest the innocent to line County coffers.  Court fees charged continue to be horrendous.  -- Aren't taxpayers already looted to pay these costs?  Aren't you boys not only double f--king those falsely accused, but taxpayers also hellaciously looted to pay the very same costs?   Yet, the criminal bastards in power in Llano continue to pile on the fees. This is nothing more than goddamned bullshit.  This money finds its way into the pockets of the corrupt, abusive bastards who falsely believe they run and own this hell hole.

Would you believe the last time the Sheriff's Office happened to be 'audited' during the Garrett regime, reportedly, auditors couldn't figure out what went where and why? Yet, surprise, surprise.  Nothing was done.  There has to be transparency.  There is none.  Why would these thieving bastards want any?  ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  How else could they so easily steal and loot with virtual impunity?  Worse, this reinforces jackbooted power in this goddamned, godforsaken hell hole County.

The public has a right to know the histories of the Sheriff's goons.  Clearly, the Sheriff doesn't think so.  That is, where they came from.  Why they left where they were.  What is happening here is the Sheriff is using 'personnel matters' as a convenient excuse to deny the public access to the history of outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept officers who are no more than criminals themselves.

He's protecting his outrageously corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards.  Worse, the standards imposed by sheriff's offices statewide with the exception of metropolitan counties are well below those of DPS and city police departments.  Why?  So the corruption, abuse, ineptness, and outright stealing can continue unabated?  This has to change.  ... Can't have that, can we?  Sheriff?  TL?

The public should understand Llano County authorities have it all sewn up.  Did you know the Texas Attorney General does not have the authority to investigate and prosecute County authorities on his own?  The District Attorney has to call for an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Then, the State can prosecute if it so chooses.

Consequently?  Guess what?  Nothing will happen.  Nothing ever does.  The goddamned corruption continues unabated until you, the public, pressure authorities.  Precisely, why we all enjoy the 'best' government money can buy. Literally.  Without question, the corrupt, abusive, inept sons of bitches are all bought and paid for.  Firmly clamped to the taxpayer tit.  Dependent on money looted from innocent citizens caught in their web.  Phony fines and court costs cleverly designed to f--k the innocent and enrich the pieces of shit who falsely believe they run and own Llano County. Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

Interestingly, the former Sheriff and District Attorney were reportedly forced to retire after an outrageous scandal involving a drunk driving police officer from out of town.  Including special treatment of the drunken son of a bitch that no other citizen caught doing the same would have been afforded.  An honest, honorable Llano County Deputy suffered the consequences. Forget?  Great officers do not last in this hell hole County. ... Right, Sheriff?  TL?  "Sonny Boy?"  Madam County Attorney?

With all ongoing abuse in this goddamned County, one thing remains for damned sure.  We're just getting started, Sheriff.  You will continue to be exposed for whom and what you and your corrupt, abusive, inept jackbooted bastards have become, truly are, not what you phonies purport to be, that is, how you continue to f--k over a public you've falsely sworn to protect and defend.  -- Exposure, the only way short of an unwanted dreaded revolution to force desperately needed change in a goddamned fascist police-state. Have your jackbooted thugs been tested for steroids, Sheriff?  If you've nothing to hide, Bill, release the results of all drug testing.  'Personnel matters?'  Bullshit.  Looted taxpayers have the right to know.  They're footing the bill for all this goddamned corruption, abuse, ineptness. "A woman from Monroe County, Georgia, said she spent over three months in jail for possessing cotton candy, CBS affiliate WMAZ reports. Dasha Fincher said a roadside drug test falsely identified her bag of cotton candy as methamphetamine. On Thursday, Fincher filed a lawsuit in federal court against Monroe County, the two deputies who arrested her as well as the company that manufactured the drug test. Deputies Cody Maples and Allen Henderson conducted the traffic stop on New Year's Eve 2016. Deputies said the car Fincher was riding in was stopped because its window tints were too dark, though they later admitted that the windows were legal."

Fincher's bond was set at $1 million and she remained in jail because she couldn't pay the cash bond."

"In March 2017, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab test determined the substance in the bag was not an illegal drug. The charges against Fincher were dropped four weeks later. Fincher's lawsuit argues that the Monroe County Sheriff's Office was reckless and negligent and violated her civil rights. The drug test was manufactured by Sirchie Acquisitions, a company based in North Carolina, according to the lawsuit. The Nark II test has a history of false positive results, the suit says."

"More than three years after Sandra Bland died in a Texas jail after being arrested during a traffic stop, her sisters say they are still searching for critical information about her death. "For us in particular, I think closure is and will always be in far reach," Sharon Cooper told "The View." "We don’t have the answers that we need –- and I think the answers would come from the person who’s no longer here to give them to us ... my sister.” Cooper and Shanté Needham joined "The View" Tuesday to discuss "Say Her Name: The Life and Death of Sandra Bland," an HBO documentary about their sister that premieres Dec. 3. Cooper said the family is also trying to fight the "outrage fatigue" many feel about the numerous incidences of violence against black people since Bland's death. "If you are living while black in America, we know what it feels like to have your life in jeopardy at any given point ... we’re fighting to be seen as human," Cooper said."

Must not be forgotten blacks are not the only victims of these jackbooted bastards.  Statistically, more innocent unarmed whites are killed than blacks.  Does not, however, diminish in any way the injustice suffered by blacks perpetrated by the goons in law enforcement.

"On July 10, 2015, Bland, 28, was on her way to the grocery store in Waller County, Texas, Cooper said. She was pulled over by former Texas Department of Safety Trooper Brian Encinia for failure to use her turn signal to change lanes. A confrontation ensued and Encinia was seen on dashboard camera threatening to "light up" Bland, apparently with a stun gun, before arresting her. Bland was found dead in her jail cell three days later, on July 13. Her death, which was ruled a suicide, ignited the country in protest, sparking a national conversation about racism and police discrimination. Needham said that three years later, there is still a lot her family doesn't know about the circumstances surrounding Bland's death, including what time she died, which she said is "very important." “Everything surrounding it was questionable. We'll never know. That's what hurts the most," she added."

There was no justice:

"In December 2015, a grand jury chose not to indict the county sheriff and jail staff in connection to her death. A month later, the officer who arrested her, Encinia, was indicted for perjury. In June 2017, the perjury charge was dropped and Encinia surrendered his Texas law enforcement license. "Brian and his family appreciate the thoughtful review by the prosecutors. Dismissal was the right thing to do," Encinia's lawyer, Chip Lewis, said at the time."

The jackbooted bastards are nearly always protected and coddled.  ... Right, Sheriff?

"But Cooper said the perjury charge "was the minimal amount" of punishment he could receive. "That charge was dropped with the promise that he wouldn’t practice law enforcement in the state of Texas, and quite frankly, he shouldn't be a law enforcement official anywhere," Cooper said. Needham said the family doesn't know what Encinia is doing now."

"Authorities have arrested the suspect in a Thanksgiving shooting at an Alabama mall where police killed a man they mistakenly thought was the gunman, U.S. Marshals confirm to CBS News. Erron Brown, 20, of Bessemer, Alabama, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. in the Atlanta area after a fugitive task force in Birmingham developed leads that he was with family in the area, according to U.S. Marshals. Inspector Frank Lempka with the U.S. Marshals in Atlanta said Brown was arrested at a relative's home and taken to the Fulton County jail for an extradition hearing to be sent back to Alabama. An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for Brown in Alabama, charging him with attempted murder. Brown was charged in the shooting of Brian Xavier Wilson, 18, of Birmingham, who was wounded. He wasn't charged with shooting a 12-year-old girl who also was injured."

"Court records show Brown was arrested in June 2017 in Huntsville on a charge of using a gun to rob a man, but the case was dismissed three months later after prosecutors filed notice that they didn't want to pursue the case."

"Police were responding to reports of a shooting Thanksgiving night at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, a suburb of 95,000 people south of Birmingham, when an officer fatally shot 21-year-old Emantic "EJ" Bradford Jr.  Police initially blamed Bradford, who they said had a gun in his hand and was responsible for shooting two people at the mall. They later retracted that statement. In a statement issued Monday, police said Bradford had a gun in his hand "during the seconds following the gunshots, which instantly heightened the sense of threat to approaching police officers." Ben Crump, a lawyer representing the Bradford family, said there was a presumption that Bradford was the criminal because he was a black man. The officer who opened fire hasn't yet been identified. Bradford's family has said he had a permit to carry a weapon legally, and their attorney has said witnesses reported that Bradford was trying to help after the shooting."

The community is certainly not happy:

"Brown's arrest followed days of protests over Bradford's killing in Hoover, where city leaders asked the state Thursday for permission to release more information about the killing."

Witnesses have said Bradford, who was licensed to carry a gun, was trying to help usher others away from the gunfire, Crump said. Pathologist Roger Mitchell, who Crump said based his conclusions on autopsy photos and evidence photos as well as observing Bradford's body, found the manner of death to be homicide. All three shots could have proved fatal, the review found."

"Crump said the findings show the officer should be charged with a crime. "There is nothing that justifies [the officer] shooting EJ as he's moving away from him. In a letter to City of Hoover officials by ALEA, the agency asked the city not to release evidence including written reports, electronic records and video because it could affect the integrity of the investigation. Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said Monday the city would comply."

"A transgender migrant woman who died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody in May was beaten and denied proper medical treatment, according to the results of an independent autopsy and lawyers for her family. The private forensic pathologist who conducted the second autopsy at the behest of the family of Roxsana Hernandez Rodriguez concluded the 33-year-old from Honduras likely died May 25 of "severe complications of dehydration," complicated by HIV, after she was transferred to the hospital from ICE's Cibola County Correctional Center in New Mexico. The Transgender Law Center, a civil rights legal group representing Hernandez's family, says Hernandez was repeatedly denied access to medical care when she complained of vomiting and diarrhea, and was only able to see a doctor after suffering the symptoms for days. "According to observations of other detainees who were with Ms. Hernandez Rodriguez, the diarrhea and vomiting episodes persisted over multiple days with no medical evaluation or treatment, until she was gravely ill," the autopsy says."

Gets worse.  Get this:

"The independent autopsy also uncovered "evidence of physical abuse," with deep bruising on the left and right sides of her chest, extending to her back, "indicative of blows, and/or kicks, and possible strikes with [a] blunt object." Her body also had deep soft tissue bruising on her wrists "typical of handcuff injuries." The autopsy says the bruising wasn't visible externally. "She came to the U.S. seeking protection, and instead was met with torture," Egyes said."

Not surprisingly, the jackbooted bastards in ICE deny all:

"ICE denies that Hernandez was abused while in their custody.  In a statement, the agency said Hernandez was admitted on May 17 to Cibola General Hospital with symptoms of pneumonia, dehydration and complications associated with untreated HIV before her death. "ICE takes very seriously the health, safety and welfare of those in our care, including those who come into ICE custody with prior medical conditions or who have never before received appropriate medical care," an ICE spokesperson said in a statement. "Any death that happens in ICE custody is a cause for concern, and the agency will continue its full review of this case according to standard protocols."

"The Transgender Law Center says Hernandez was an asylum seeker fleeing persecution in Honduras and hoped to help her family build a better life. Lynly Egyes, the Transgender Law Center's director of litigation, called Hernandez's death "preventable." In a statement released through the Transgender Law Center, Hernandez's sisters in Honduras said her death has been "extremely painful" for her family. They said Hernandez had dreams of opening up a beauty salon in the U.S. to help them. They said she fled Honduras because transgender people there face discrimination. "It's difficult to accept that she was taken from us because of negligence, because of not giving her support and medication that she needed, because they treated her like an animal," the statement said. "It's not fair. It's not fair that she fled Honduras looking for a better life and instead she was murdered. Now all we have left with is the hope that we can see justice for her."

"Many questions remain about what happened to Hernandez in the days leading up to her death, according to attorney R. Andrew Free, who is also representing her family. ICE hasn't released what's known as a detainee death review — an internal investigation required anytime someone dies in ICE custody — nor the results of the official autopsy conducted by the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator. A request from CBS News for a copy of that autopsy report is pending, and Free said he also has yet to see the initial autopsy."

"But Free said he's been able to piece together some of what apparently happened in Hernandez's last days based on interviews with more than a dozen other transgender migrant women with whom Hernandez traveled to the U.S. Free said Hernandez arrived with a migrant caravan at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego on May 9, where ICE said she applied for admission to the U.S. She was held in U.S. Customs and Border Protection custody for several days and spent time in the "hieleras," which migrants have described as unsafe and overcrowded "ice boxes." Hernandez was apparently already ill because she was admitted briefly to a hospital, Free said, before she was transferred back into CBP custody. On May 13, Hernandez entered ICE custody in San Diego, and she was transferred two days later to an ICE facility in El Paso, according to ICE. She arrived May 16 at the Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, New Mexico, which houses a specialized unit for transgender women."

"Before she arrived at Cibola, Hernandez apparently traveled through several states via bus and plane with other detained transgender women who were being transferred to the facility, said Free, citing interviews with those women. The women said Hernandez's condition deteriorated and she became weaker while in transit. They said she was vomiting and having diarrhea, but she was denied medical care, handcuffed, wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom and wasn't given enough water. Other detainees asked for water for her, Free said. CoreCivic, which operates the facility for ICE, said in a statement that Hernandez was only at the Cibola facility for about 12 hours before she was transferred to a hospital. ICE said she was admitted to Cibola General Hospital and later airlifted to Lovelace Medical Center, where she remained in intensive care until she died on May 25. Staff there listed her preliminary cause of death as cardiac arrest, according to ICE."

Most interesting, get this:

"Though the timeline remains unclear, Free said he believes Hernandez was beaten while she was at Cibola, because the women interviewed said they believed they would have seen it had she been abused while they were all detained together, and there was no indication she was abused while in the hospital.

"Free and the Transgender Law Center this week filed a notice of wrongful death tort claim in New  Mexico, the first step in filing a lawsuit in the case."

Guyger has said she mistakenly went to his apartment instead of her own and shot him. The court records were posted Friday before authorities were set to announce a grand jury's decision on the case. She was arrested days after the Sept. 6 shooting that killed Jean, 26, who was from the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia. Guyger told investigators she mistook Jean's apartment for her own and thought she'd encountered an intruder. She has since been fired from the department and Jean's family has filed a lawsuit against Guyger and the city of Dallas.

"Guyger told investigators that after finishing a 15-hour shift, she returned home in-uniform and parked on the fourth floor of her apartment complex's garage, rather than the third floor, where her unit was located, according to an affidavit prepared by the Texas Rangers. She said she got to what she thought was her apartment — Jean's was directly above hers — and found the door ajar. She opened it to find a figure standing in the darkness. She said she pulled her gun and fired twice after the person ignored her commands. Lee Merritt, an attorney for the Jean family, has said the document is an attempt to "condone what happened, give her a break." Guyger has since been fired from the department and Jean's family has filed a lawsuit against Guyger and the city of Dallas. The federal suit argues Guyger used excessive force in the shooting and contends the department did not give her adequate training."

"Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said Friday that a police officer who decorated a precinct Christmas tree with items such as a cigarette pack and police tape will be fired. Frey called the tree a "racist display" and said the unidentified officer's termination is necessary. "This behavior is racist, despicable, and is well beneath the standards of any person who serves the city of Minneapolis," Frey said in a statement. "The offending party will be fired before the day is over. Shifting the culture of the police department requires swift and decisive action. Termination is necessary — both to discipline the officer and to send a clear message: Chief (Medaria) Arradondo and I will not tolerate conduct that departs from our values." The head of the police officer's union did not immediately return a message from The Associated Press seeking comment on the officer's firing. Arradondo called the display "racially insensitive" and said it was removed. He said he has started a full investigation into the incident. "I am ashamed and appalled by the behavior of those who would feel comfortable to act in such a manner that goes against our core department values of trust, accountability and professional service," Arradondo said in a statement."

The precinct was the site of more than two weeks of protests after the 2015 fatal police shooting of Jamar Clark, a black man. A picture of the tree circulated online before the items were removed. They included a pack of Newport cigarettes, a cup from Popeyes Louisiana Chicken, a bag of Takis and a can of Steel Reserve malt liquor beer. According to the Star Tribune , City Council Member Phillipe Cunningham wrote on Facebook that an officer hung the inappropriate items as a prank after the tree was decorated. Also Friday, the Minneapolis City Council voted to reduce the mayor's proposed police budget for 2019 by more than $1 million."

"The commander of a Minneapolis police precinct has been replaced following uproar over Christmas tree decorations that the mayor said amounted to a "racist display." The Christmas tree at the Fourth Precinct station on the city's north side was decorated with items such as Newport cigarettes, police crime tape, a can of malt liquor and a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen cup. Minneapolis Police spokesman John Elder confirmed Monday that inspector Aaron Biard had been removed as commander of the precinct. Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said in a statement that Assistant Chief Mike Kjos will be responsible for the precinct's day-to-day operations until a replacement is found. Kjos previously served as the precinct's commander, the Star Tribune reported. Two Minneapolis officers were placed on paid leave Friday for their apparent involvement in the decorations. Mayor Jacob Frey called the decorations "despicable" and said they amounted to a "racist display." A picture of the tree circulated online before the items were removed.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced the indictments of Officers Dustin Boone, Randy Hays, Christopher Myers and Bailey Colletta. All four are suspended without pay, the city said. The indictment follows an FBI investigation requested last year by St. Louis police. The protests erupted in September 2017 following the acquittal of former police officer Jason Stockley. Stockley, who is white, was found not guilty in the 2011 death of a black suspect, Anthony Lamar Smith."

"The indictment alleges that Boone, Hays and Myers beat the undercover officer during a protest on Sept. 17, 2017, and that the three along with Colletta covered it up. According to the indictment, officers Boone, Hays and Myers inflicted "bodily injury" on an undercover officer identified in the court document only as "L.H.", an officer and detective who is described as having 22 years of experience with the police department. The incident occurred during a September 17, 2017, protest against the acquittal of a white police officer who was tried in the death of a black suspect in 2011."

Body camera footage contradicted the deputy's report and showed that he delayed entering the building. The commission said former student Nikolas Cruz had already killed 17 and wounded 17 others by the time Eason arrived, but some people inside needed immediate help."

Mohamed Noor had been previously charged with third-degree murder and a manslaughter charge for shooting Justine Damond, 40, on July 15, 2017, after she called 911 to report a possible sexual assault in an alley behind her home. Prosecutors on Thursday filed a motion seeking to amend the criminal complaint against him to add a charge of second-degree murder before his scheduled April 1 trial, saying that there is probable cause that Noor "intended to kill" Damond "when he aimed and fired at her."

"After Damond, whose last name is Ruszczyk but who was to be married and had already taken her fiance’s last name, called police Noor and his partner arrived in their sport-utility vehicle and she approached the SUV, officials have said. "Despite his repeated protests to multiple jail officers, his offer to produce proof, and the jail's own records, the Sheriff's Office held Mr. Brown so that ICE could deport him to Jamaica — a country where he has never lived and knows no one," the lawsuit says."

"The Sheriff's Office ignored all the indications that it was illegally detaining Mr. Brown. It did nothing to investigate his citizenship. It did not contact ICE to pass along this urgent information, or ask for a review of Mr. Brown's files. It did not seek any further information from Mr. Brown or anyone else. It simply held Mr. Brown, in violation of his constitutional rights and after he was entitled to release under state law, so that he could be picked up by ICE and deported from the country." Brown, according to the lawsuit, was born in Philadelphia and had only visited Jamaica once for a day on a cruise. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office and ICE did not immediately respond to requests for comment."

In a letter announcing his office's decision, Adams County District Attorney Dave Young said officers had "repeatedly ordered" Black to drop his gun and show his hands. "The man ignored the commands and continued to advance toward the officers while armed with a handgun," Young said in his letter."

The District Attorney is protecting his own rather than the public he has sworn to protect as prosecutor.

"Around 1:30 a.m. on July 30, police were responding to reports of an intruder attacking a child at Black's home, authorities said. Shortly after arriving, officers heard gunfire within the house. Young said officers saw a white male, later identified as Black, emerge from a hallway. Black, 73, had just fatally shot 26-year-old Dajon Harper, who'd been allegedly assaulting Black's 11-year-old grandson in the family's bathroom, authorities said. "The male (Black) was armed with a handgun in one hand and held a flashlight in the other," Young said in his letter. "Officers gave the male repeated verbal commands to drop the gun and show his hands. The male ignored the commands and appeared to conceal himself from the officers' view." Young said that when Black emerged again and entered the living room, he was still holding the gun. "He quickly raised his flashlight toward the front door where the officers stood with their guns drawn," Young said. "With a split second, an officer fired his weapon four times at the male, killing him." On Monday, authorities identified the officer who shot Black as Officer Drew Limbaugh."

Do not touch the gun!" the officer then yells as Black moves around on the floor."

Fiordaliza Pichardo was booked as a male at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after a staff doctor and nurse wrongfully classified her as a male following her arrest for an outstanding warrant stemming from an earlier drug charge, according to her lawsuit filed in federal court. She spent about 10 hours in a holding cell with about 40 men before she was released on bail, her lawsuit claims. Pichardo was jailed in December 2013 and initially sued in September 2016, but the claim was thrown out by a federal judge who said the jail employees were protected against claims of neglect. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit on Nov. 21 reinstated her lawsuit against Miami-Dade County, the county's corrections department and the nurse and doctor at the jail where she was booked. How is it two surveyor companies, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, even the goddamned Sheriff himself now states Kingsland resident James Berardi owns the lots in contention all these months?

Yet, you ludicrously assert that's not the County's legal position.  It's not?  Why not?  You claim you're not a real estate expert.  Rather than accept the advice of two surveyor companies, the Precinct 3 Commissioner, the Appraisal District, the Tax Office, and even the Sheriff himself, you've inexplicably chosen to follow the advice of property owner Johnny Greene, -- who conveniently happens to be reportedly in the oil industry.

Question to be asked.  Could you have received any 'consideration' in return, -- up to and including a bribe?  Only way to know for sure is for the District Attorney to conduct a criminal investigation.  Apparently, there has been none.  If not, why not?

Equally pointedly, why hasn't Llano County Deputy Leroy Rodriguez, Badge #764 been held criminally accountable for egregious abuse of power involving denial of property rights to this Kingsland property owner?  To say nothing of consequent resultant physical damage done to a motor home on that property.

Rodriguez is indeed an idiot.  Would you believe this piece of crap ordered the motor home to be moved on to an unmarked unused Llano County road? That motor home has indeed been moved back to where it was parked before Rodriguez forced it to be moved.  Why hasn't the County paid for the cost of moving it back?  To say nothing of the damage.

Equally pointedly, why is it the County has allowed Theresa Ahrens to park and live in her tiny cottage on that very same road?  Why hasn't she been evicted by the County?  Why was she assessed taxes on an adjacent improvement she doesn't own?

Why is it, Counselor, Johnny Greene is paying for the attorney retained by Ms. Ahrens?  Is Greene attempting to make this all go away by bribery?  Greene has also informed Berardi he is going to sue.  For what?  Has Greene lost his mind?

What about Wells who installed a $4500 septic system on a lot turns out he does not own as a result of Greene, an outrageously inept County, to say nothing of the Llano County Attorney who remains equally determinedly clueless?

How about Bolen who hasn't a pot to piss in, but was nonetheless f--ked over by Greene to say nothing of an egregiously inept County, to say nothing of you and your goddamned equally incompetent office?

'Shoot first, ask questions later'.  Apparently, now, the mantra of law enforcement.  NPR reports:

"The family of Emantic "E.J." Bradford Jr., who died Thanksgiving night after he was shot by a police officer working security at an Alabama mall, is calling on the Hoover Police Department to release the mall video, witness videos and body camera footage of Bradford's death."

In the increasingly vicious climate perpetrated by the criminal jackbooted bastards in blue, would certainly be in the best interest of law enforcement to immediately release all videos of such deadly encounters.  ... Unless, of course, they've deliberately murdered their victims.

"Initially, officials said Bradford was engaged in a fight with an 18-year-old at the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover, Ala. when he pulled out a gun and shot the teen. A 12-year-old bystander also was wounded that night. That night, police and city officials hailed the quick response as "heroic." But officials later retracted the statement saying it was "highly unlikely" that Bradford fired the shots that injured two people."

The jackbooted bastards are already making excuses:

"In a statement early Monday, city and police officials said they can "say with certainty Mr. Bradford brandished a gun during the seconds following the gunshots, which instantly heightened the sense of threat to approaching police officers responding to the chaotic scene." Body camera and other available video was turned over to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department as part of the investigation, and the evidence is now with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. "We extend sympathy to the family of Emantic J. Bradford of Hueytown, who was shot and killed during Hoover Police efforts to secure the scene in the seconds following the original altercation and shooting. The loss of human life is a tragedy under any circumstances," the statement continued."

Sufficient?  Think so?

"Bradford's family spoke at a press conference Sunday, accompanied by their attorney, Ben Crump. Crump says several witnesses have come forward since shooting to say the police officer who killed Bradford didn't give any verbal commands to Bradford before shooting him in the face."

If true, no problems with that?

"Officials also say the shooter could still be at large. Crump says they offered Bradford no medical assistance after the shooting. Family members were tearful at the press conference at Birmingham's Kelly Ingram Park. Several clutched photos of Bradford. At one point, Bradford's grandmother, Althea Pipkin, collapsed and was escorted off as she sobbed over her grandson's killing. Attorney Crump and the family say it's just another instance of a black man dying at the hands of police. Crump has represented other black men who have died at the hands of police and others, including Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown."

The murder of innocent unarmed blacks remains an enormous problem in our formerly great country.  Must not be forgotten it's a problem as well in the white community.  Statistically, more innocent unarmed whites are killed by police than blacks.  This ongoing savagery must finally end, right, Sheriff?

"The officer who shot Bradford has since been placed on administrative leave."

Paid 'vacation' while the victim remains permanently, unjustifiably dead.

"His name has not been released."

Law enforcement has not yet released any details on the fatal shooting. Crump says in the meantime, they are going to explore every possible legal avenue available on the state and federal level. "What the family wants most is justice," Crump says."

They shot that man down for no reason," Noland Moore could be heard saying in a video uploaded to Facebook. Bradford was armed. The 21-year-old had a legal concealed weapons permit, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann. Protesters gathered Tuesday night at the mayor's home to demand answers. Hoover police have offered shifting explanations for why they mistook Bradford for an active shooter at Riverchase Galleria Mall. At first police in Hoover insisted he had wounded two people earlier at the mall. They quickly backpedaled: Bradford was not the gunman. The real gunman remains at large.

"Witnesses have told the family Bradford was trying to help people to safety when he was shot. Bradford's family is demanding the release of videotapes from the shooting – including what's inside the shooting officer's body camera. CBS News has been pushing for more answers in this shooting. State investigators won't comment while the case is active. Hoover police, despite a pledge of transparency, never got back to us. In their latest statement, they insisted Bradford was holding his gun when they first responded at the mall."

"Alabama police have backtracked further from their claims about Emantic Bradford Jr., who was initially described as an active shooter after an officer killed him in a suburban Birmingham shopping mall on Thanksgiving evening. In a regretful statement the next day, police said the actual gunman had apparently escaped the Riverchase Galleria — but still maintained that Bradford, 21, “was fleeing the shooting scene while brandishing a handgun” when an officer shot him in a corridor outside the JCPenney store. In a third statement Monday, police raised doubts about whether Bradford even had his gun out when officers encountered him. “We can say with certainty Mr. Bradford brandished a gun during the seconds following the gunshots,” the statement reads, “which instantly heightened the sense of threat to approaching officers responding to the chaotic scene.”

The Hoover Police Department did not immediately respond when asked whether Bradford aimed his weapon or simply took it out, or whether the gun was still in view when two uniformed officers working as security guards approached him, and one of them opened fire."

"He died on the tile between a GameStop and a Footaction, blood pooled around his head. In time, more officers gathered around the body, and several onlookers took pictures. "That boy didn’t shoot at nobody,” a man in the corridor said as he filmed. “The shooter is down at this time,” an emergency dispatcher announced on the radio."

Police need to be held criminally accountable.  When will that happen?

When is this shit finally going to end?  Wake up, Sheriff.  Again, where is dashcam video of the killing of Jeffrey Gray Wise, 52, of Austin by DPS and the Llano County Sheriff's Office?  One hundred thirty six weeks, now.  A goddamned disgrace.  Why are you still sitting on this information?  What are you hiding, Sheriff?  What is the identity of the officers who killed Wise?  Too gutless to release this information to the public that pays your salary and that of your goons?  Reportedly, there were three officers involved in the shooting.

"A Facebook executive whose brother died after being Tasered by deputies in California last month said she has seen footage of the incident that contradicts the police narrative of the fatal encounter."

So what else is new?  Police lie to protect their own.

"Chinedu Valentine Okobi, 36, was unarmed when he died Oct. 3 after being repeatedly Tasered by San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies in Millbrae. Officials said he suffered cardiac arrest. Ebele Okobi, Chinedu's sister and Facebook's director of public policy for Africa, said in a post on the social media platform she and her mother watched her brother being "tortured to death" in the videos, which have not been publicly released, as he yelled, "Somebody please help me!" and "What did I do?"

If there is nothing to hide, release the videos.  Do it now.  Why sit on them?  Let the public see for itself.

"In the Facebook post, Ebele Okobi described the videos as "shocking." "There is no mercy or compassion for my little brother," Ebele Okobi, who lives in London, wrote. "If they had killed a dog the way they killed my brother, there would be outrage." San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe confirmed to CBS News his office showed the family dashcam, cellphone and surveillance video of the police encounter Friday. Wagstaffe said his office is still investigating whether the officers committed a crime by using excessive force and said a charging decision was still pending. He said he expects to release the videos within the next several weeks, and wouldn't comment on the video's content."

Here's the problem:

"In the Facebook post, Ebele Okobi said the videos contradict a statement from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office saying a deputy first approached her brother because he was "running in and out of traffic," and  her brother "immediately assaulted an officer."  Rather, she said, the videos show her brother — a father and graduate of Morehouse College — walking along a sidewalk carrying bags when a deputy pulled up alongside him in his patrol vehicle, and said he needs to question him."

Somebody's lying.  Release the videos to the public.

"She said her brother gave an inaudible answer in the video, then walked to the intersection, checked for traffic and crossed the street. She said the deputy then called in a "Code 3," meaning to send back-up for an emergency. The deputy sped up to cut off her brother as another police car sped up in front of him. One deputy came out of her car and rushed into Chinedu Okobi, as he twisted to the side and moved his hands up. Ebele Okobi said deputies grabbed her brother and ripped off his jacket. As he tried to run, another deputy hit him with a Taser and he fell to the street, crying. Ebele Okobi said her brother was still holding his hands in air. "He is not fighting, just crying in pain. I will never forget the visual of his hands, waving above his head, open, begging," Ebele Okobi wrote in the Facebook post. Ebele Okobi said the deputies continue to Taser her brother and one struck him with a baton. Her brother at some point tried to run across the street, Ebele Okobi said, and the deputies chased him, Tasered him, pepper sprayed him and jumped on top of him."

Release the videos.  Let the public be the judge.  See for itself.  Clearly, someone's lying.

"She described audio of one of the deputies saying, "Stay on top of him, stay on top of him." Someone asked if her brother was still breathing, and someone else shouted, "I see blood!" She said her brother died on the sidewalk, and said no one attempted CPR or other life-saving procedures. She disputed the police version of events: "My brother never attacked any of the deputies. He did not assault anyone. My baby brother, as big as he was, didn't even defend himself." Wagstaffe, who is investigating the death, told CBS News last month deputies initially approached Okobi because they were worried about his safety. He said Okobi resisted officers, and when they couldn't gain control of him using their hands, two deputies deployed their Tasers. Okobi was Tasered between three and four times, Wagstaffe said."

Only way this will be resolved one way or the other is to release the videos.  Let the public see for itself.  Why are these jackbooted bastards protecting their own?

"In the Facebook post, Ebele Okobi called on Wagstaffe and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office to "correct the record" in regard to an earlier statement her brother had assaulted deputies and was running in and out of traffic. "I knew that my brother didn't 'attack' or 'assault' deputies, but because of his mental illness, I believed it was possible that he might have been in crisis and acting erratically," Ebele Okobi said in the Facebook post. "None of that would have justified him being killed, but there isn't even a reason, at all, that my brother was stopped. My brother's medical history has nothing at all to do with why he was stopped and killed."

"Wagstaffe said his office never said Chinedu Okobi assaulted officers, and said that information was released through the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office did not return a call and an email from CBS News requesting comment."

Why not?  Why not take advantage of a golden opportunity to set the record straight?  Especially, at a time law enforcement is under such scrutiny, clearly cannot be trusted.  Lies like hell.  Does as it pleases.  With impunity.  ... Right, Sheriff?

"The office identified the four deputies and one sergeant involved to the San Francisco Chronicle as John DeMartini, Alyssa Lorenzatti, Joshua Wang, Bryan Watt and David Weidner. Ebele Okobi also called on Wagstaffe to publicly release the videos.  "If people saw what my family saw, they would see what a miscarriage of justice it was," Okobi told the San Francisco Chronicle. "They would see why we're so appalled that police officers could do this."

It comes months after he was acquitted of second-degree murder by another jury that had deadlocked on manslaughter charges, allowing prosecutors to pursue the case again."

Three other former officers have also pleaded guilty in the case, which centered around efforts by Atesiano to improve his department's crime-solving rate."
